a shitload of incorrect quotes
Tech: *clicks pen*
Crosshair: *clicks pen in response*
Wrecker: Stop that.
Tech: Stop what?
Wrecker: You’re talking about me in Morse code!
Tech: Yes, that’s what we doing. In our very limited time, we took a class on a very outdated, very unnecessary form of communication just so we could talk about you in front of you. Congrats, you figured us out!
*later*
Crosshair, to Omega: That’s actually exactly what we were doing.
Hunter: What’s something you guys are better than Crosshair at?
Wrecker: Mario Kart.
Omega: Yeah, all video games except first-person shooters and The Last Of Us.
Tech: Emotional vulnerability.
Tech: If you took a shot for every time you made a bad decision, how drunk would you be?
Hunter: Maybe a bit tipsy?
Echo: Drunk.
Wrecker: Wasted.
Crosshair: Dead.
Echo, setting down a card: Ace of spades.
Tech, pulling out an Uno card: +4.
Crosshair, pulling out a Pokémon card: Absol, I choose you!
Hunter, trembling: What are we playing?!
Wrecker: What is love?
Hunter: An emotional minefield.
Tech: A neurochemical reaction.
Omega: Baby don't hurt me.
Crosshair: What starts with F and ends with Uck?
Echo: No it doesn't.
Tech: Firetruck!
Omega: FUCK!
Omega: I wish I could control wasps and bees to sting my enemies.
Hunter: You’re too young to have enemies.
Omega: You don’t even know.
Crosshair: If I die, you can have what little I own.
Hunter: Wait. What do you mean "if" you die?
Crosshair: My unending existence is fuelled by pure spite, that of which the painful experiences of life have rendered me full.
Hunter:
Hunter: *Sigh* Let me call your therapist again.
Nexu: I’m not a doctor, I’m a medic.
Wrecker: What’s the difference then?
Nexu: Well doctors actually save lives, medics just make you feel more comfortable as you die.
Crosshair: Note to self; never get shot.
Crosshair: Hand me the people opener.
Hunter: ...
Hunter: Pardon?
Crosshair, annoyed: The people opener! Just hand it to me!
Hunter, stressed: WHAT THE FUCK IS A PEOPLE OPENER?
Crosshair: How do you not know what a people opener is? Its pointy- you know? With a handle?
Hunter: Knife. It's called a knife.
Omega, hugging Crosshair: Do you feel any better?
Crosshair: I feel much better now that you're here with me.
*Hunter walks in*
Crosshair: I feel half better.
Hunter: Would you rather kill Tech, or—
Echo: Yes, kill them.
Hunter: I didn’t say the other thing—
Echo: I don’t need to hear it.
Tech: …I’m feeling a little unsafe.
Benji, to cadet Crosshair: Oh my stars you are so cute and small!
Crosshair: *proceeds to kick him in the shin and run away*
Hunter, walking past: Rule number 1, don't call Crosshair cute or small.
Hunter: Omega is at that very special age where a kid only has one thing on their mind.
Crosshair: Murder?
Omega: Murder.
Hunter: How high are you?
Crosshair: 6'4".
Tech: No, he's asking what drugs are you on.
Crosshair: Oh, antidepressants, why?
Crosshair: Hey, do you know the password to Hunter’s computer?
Omega: Fuck you, Crosshair.
Crosshair: Hey!!
Omega: No, you misunderstood, the password is "fuckyouCrosshair".
Crosshair: Oh, no numbers? Not very safe.
Omega: In my defense, I was left unsupervised.
Echo: Wasn’t Crosshair with you?
Crosshair: In my defense, I was also left unsupervised.
Tech: I will find us a ride.
Tech: If you two can manage to not kill each other while I'm gone.
Omega: Oh, please. We're not children.
*Tech leaves*
Omega, casually: ...Eat shit and die.
Crosshair, also casually: Yes, fuck you.
Omega: Are you the big spoon or the little spoon?
Crosshair: I'm a knife.
Wrecker, from across the room: He's the little spoon.
Crosshair: Fun Fact! The average person will walk by 36 murderers in their lifetime.
Echo: I like how this is a "fun" fact.
Hunter: It's fun because they didn't decide to murder you.

Two Souls Entwined
Part 2 Captain Rex x oc
A/N: Im back! Told you I would be posting this week. Open to criticism!! This isn’t my best work, so FEEL. FREE. TO. CRITICIZE!!!
Word count: 1133 (I know, I went overboard)
Niva watched as her buir fought for his life; kicking, biting, punching, anything to defeat the enemy Mando. Both Mandos fought without their helmets, since they were kicked away by their opponent.
The pair tousle around the mud, in between the bodies of the fallen. Niva’s friends, comrades, and her family. All gone within a matter of minutes, all 50 have died to the hands of this white and red armored Mando and his lackeys.
I can’t watch him die… Niva gasps and remembers her buir gave her a small modified handheld Verpine Shatter Rifle for her birthday last year. Her newest birthday present, the little silver necklace, slaps against her collarbones as she scrambles to find her duffel bag.
Her birthday was last week, but was she really going to tell him that? She rummages through it, tossing her clothes aside, and finds the blaster tucked between her book and her helmet, wrapped in a shirt.
Her armor was too big for her, and they haven’t gotten a chance to reforge it, so the armor is neatly stacked in her duffel bag. Niva checks the charge on the blaster.
Thank the Maker, it’s full.
Sliping the barrel of the blaster ever so slightly through the tent flaps, Niva closes an eye to aim better. Through the scope, alining her crosshair to hit the Mando, she tries not to hit her buir, but it’s so hard to find an opening when they’re both thrashing around in the mud.
Three… two… dead.
She pulls the trigger, the blast is nearly silent as the blaster bolt leaves the barrel and into the Mando’s neck.
That’s the good thing about Niva’s clan of Mandalorians. They don’t miss. The Mando falls to the ground with a muffled thud, the sludge making a squelching sound as he lands face first in it.
Niva gasps, holstering the Verpine and dashing out of the tent, her curls flying in the wind behind her. Her boots are covered in mud as she runs down the hill, sliding the last few yards on her knees towards her buir.
The adrenaline ebbs away, the urge to fight is slowly drowned out by the pain of his injuries. He’s beaten to a pulp and can barely lift his head. Blood runs down his nose and into his mouth, there's an arch on the bridge of his nose that shouldn’t be there.
“Ad’ika…” his words are slurred as he tries to bring his bloodied hand to Niva’s cheek.
“Buir…” Niva takes his hand and gently holds it in her lap. Bodies are everywhere, not just her allies but her enemies, the red and white armored Mandos. She doesn’t have to check his pulse, scan him, or even look at his injuries. He’s dying.
“Nami… She called for… The distress beacon…” He rasps, coughing up blood onto his chest plate. Nami was one of Buir’s closest friends; Niva searches the land for her and finds Nami’s corpse lying face down in a small pond, the water now stained a muddy crimson.
Niva’s lip quivers and she bites her cheeks to keep from crying. She’s aware of the extent of her father’s wounds and she knows that when his deadly grip on her slowly ceases, her buir is dead. Her shoulders shake as she drops her father’s hand gently. Sobs rack through her small form.
He’s gone. He’s dead…
Like many children who went into battle with their buirs, Niva always prepared for the worst. But no matter how many times she rehearsed this moment in her head, nothing could prepare her for it to really happen. Cabur Veen, one of the most well known war heroes of Mandalore’s recent history, is dead.
But he was more than a hero. He was a father of three, a husband, a friend, and a son.
Ni su’cuyi, gar kyr’adyc, ni partayli, gar darasuum. Not gone, merely marching far away… Right, Buir? You always told me so…
A small rustle from behind her causes Niva to turn around. Letting out a small gasp, her fingers tighten around the Verpine but it’s too late. The red and white armored Mando, who should be dead, is pointing his blaster at Niva.
No… No, he shouldn’t be-
Bang.
Thin tendrils of smoke travel from the barrel of the blaster and up towards the sky.
The blaster bolt hits Niva right in between her collarbones, knocking the air out of her lungs. As her body falls limp onto the mud, the Mando’s does as well, and he’s actually dead this time.
Her vision blurs as her chest heaves for air, tendrils of smoke curl upwards out of her chest. A burning pain sears into the delicate skin and fragile bones, the smell of charred flesh and carbon find their way into her nostrils.
I’m dying… Aren’t I, Buir? She coughs, crimson droplets of blood flying past her lips. One more deep, shaky breath, and Niva’s vision fades completely.
Kal Skirata never expected to be sent to this camp. The Chaabar aren’t a clan to mess with, so there wasn’t a good reason for a distress call to find its way on the comm channels.
Running a hand over his close cropped hair before sliding his buy’ce on, Kal lets out a nervous breath. The hum of the ship’s engines was the only sound apart from the breathing of the 25 Mandos seated around Kal.
“You think they’re all right?” A Mando from his right asks, nudging his elbow gently.
Kal shrugs, “Doesn’t matter what I think. Cabur’s in danger and he has his kid out there…”
“Well… He’s Cabur Veen. He’ll be fine!” The Mando smiles from beneath his buy’ce, thrusting his fist in the air.
Oh, how wrong could he be? Within moments, the ship lands on the muddy terrain of the Chaabar campgrounds.
“Oh, wow… There was a massacre…” One Mando says.
“Aw, Nami… I knew her.” Another says.
Osik, this is terrible. How could another clan do this? Regardless of being enemies, these people had families… Kal weaves between corpses, scanning each of them with his HUD, just to double check they’re dead.
A small lifeform comes up on his scanner, making Kal’s heart rate spike up. It’s… It’s a little girl…
“Hey, I got a live one!” He yells to the others, rushing over to the little girl. A fresh, charred, smoking blaster hole is just between her collarbones. Kal touches his fingers to her carotid artery. It’s pumping, but just barely.
“Hey, ad’ika, can you hear me?” He asks, gently tapping her cheek as one of the medics comes running over. The girl’s eyelids flutter. She coughs, blood splattering all over Kal’s sand colored chest plate.
“Buir…” She whispers.
“No, I’m Kal. What’s your name, ad’ika?”
“N-Niva…”

A Displaced Beast
Binx (oc) x Jedi!Reader
Warnings: Prompt is highlighted in red, reader is a relic collector jedi, Binx and his squad are all OCs, the beast is based off the Displacer Beast from Dungeons and Dragons, affectionate and teasing use of "Dinii" (lunatic), use of "Dinui" (gift) as a pseudo-nickname. Also it turned out long and I don't know if it should've been parts but here we are.
"Just be careful" your companion urged from behind you, busy watching your six "There's been so much creepy shit in here."
"This should be the room to find our target Binx," you mused looking at the etched letters and trying to make sense of them "I'm glad we didn't take your brothers with us"
"Yea, me too"
The other three commandos of Hallow Squad were outside, two at the temple enterance and one in the ship. They normally went all together but you had spent an entire hour convincing them out of it. You'd been in many of these disorienting buildings and knew the dangers. And you would be devastated if something happened to your team, especially Binx...but he refused to let you go alone - even when you pulled rank
"Alright, I think I've figured it out..." you mumbled.
Reaching your hands out, your fingers dug into the stone grooves. You tugged at the carving until the lines made the shape of feline eyes, then you grasped the next part and tugged at it until the mouth was easily recognizable. Just one more piece, but it was far too large for you to move it.
"Talk to me" came Nine-three 's voice over the comm, eager to hear results
"We're alive. Our Dinii is fighting rocks" Binx answered
"I am not a lunatic" you snapped growling as you tried to move the last piece
"I said Dinui, not Dinii"
You rolled your eyes, the obvious snickers from the line tossing him under the bus.
"Just get your ass over here and help me" you grumbled "This stupid thing won't move"
"I'll call in again in 10, watch yourselves"
Binx pulled away from his commlink and after one more glance around the area, and deeming it safe enough for now, he moved to your side.
"I need to move these lines to match up" you explained.
Binx was silent for a few beats then turned to you fully
"What lines?"
"They're right here" you huffed tracing them with your fingers
Binx ripped his helm off revealing his black wavy hair pulled into a low ponytail and his lips formed into a slight pout.
"Yeah, weird" his honey eyes settled on the etchings, taking in the image that was forming
"You mean, none of this was visible in your helm?" you gawked, gingerly taking his helmut and settling it on your head.
Binx nodded in response.
You huffed, the markings now gone as you looked through the visor. You took off his helm and cradled it against your chest as you directed Binx in his shifting of the rocks and the lines upon them.
The commando complied, letting out a soft grunt as he pulled with all his might. The last carved rock spun slowly until the lines locked into their space.
You took one full step back to exmaine the piece as a whole. Your gaze flitted from the ancient lettering to the now visible image. It was some fearsome looking tooka-like creature.
Its eyes were furrowed, lips pulled into a snarl with full teeth on display. Above its eyes were delicate ears, probably meant to be seen as pointed back, and from behind its head, tendrils? Your eyes narrowed in on the obtrusions seemingly coming from the back of the head. They were noodle like with disks at the ends, sharp, jagged lines poking out the centers.
"So...what's it supposed to be?" Binx called from his spot, having yet moved away.
"Some angry creature. Maybe a deity of sorts?" you wondered aloud
But just as you were about to call to your companion to step back, a clicking noise echoed in the room. The two of you froze in your places, heads shifting about in hopes to catch the sound's location before something bad occurred.
Out of nowhere, two pillars came rushing down at you. You looked up in fear, then threw your hands up and pooled all your strength into freezing their movements. Your knowledge and strength of the force came to aid you, the pillars and their sharp points freezing just above you
"I can't hold these for long!" you called to the trooper
"One sec, I'll pull the rocks back!"
Binx turned back to the image. Just as he flexed to move the rock, the mouth of the beast to caved in and a cloud of fog shot into Binx's face. He immeadiately began to hack and cough
"Binx!!" you called out through gritted teeth
The fog-like cloud soon coated the whole area, leaving you the only space free of it. Your deflective force shield somehow keeping it at bay.
But that is when you heard it, the snarl.
You felt your stomach drop as you anxiously glanced around. You couldn't deal with another issue. Not now.
It was taking everything in you to keep the shield up and holding the pillars at bay, and Binx was just dusted by some weird powder-smaug. You couldn't even hear his coughing anymore.
"Binx!" you yelled in a panic
No response
Your heart began hammering within your chest cavity. You were trained to resist fear, to carefully work your way through it's clutches and to settle your feelings back into a calm and managable state. But right now, fear overran your senses.
All of which got a hundred times worse when your eyes locked onto two glowing golden orbs from where your companion ought to be.
Your eyes were locked with those glowing orbs, the deep, powerful snarl hit your ears only a moment later. The fog was beginning to dissipate, but so was your ability to hold up the force shield. Your arms trembled with exertion, your legs beginning to wobble beneath you.
You watched as one large black paw stepped out of the cloud, then a second, an a-jar maw following suit. The orbs now had a formal face to it, and it was strikingly similar to the carving on the wall. Sleek black fur curved around a leathery dark nose and the golden eyes, thin pointed ears immeadiately pulled back as it let out a low, menacing growl. Its shoulders hunched as a second set of front paws and legs appeared behind the first. But that's when you saw the them. Your view turning skyward as those thin black string-like appendages seemed to sway weightless in the air above it. Each end had a flat flesh oval lined with sharp needle-spikes within them.
The creature stalked over, circling you as your mind raced to think up a way out. A way to signal the other men just waiting for a signal to come charging to your side.
You heard the creak of the pillars as they inched closer, you were losing your focus and with it your shield.
The creature's gaze flickered up then it charged you.
In a split second of panic, your arms flew to cover your face and your force shiled disappated.
You waited with baited breath for death, by crushing or by having been eaten by the creature. But when pain never followed, you peeked around your arms to find those same golden eyes staring down at you.
Your breath hitched. Had the creature helped you? Or had it delayed your death only to give you one of it's on choosing?
But it did nothing. It just watched you cautiously.
Slowly, you pulled your arms away from your face and let them touch the cold stone floor below you. Your closed your eyes, focusing inward to your inner strength and calling out to the force for assistance. You opened your eyes in time to feel fur meet your forehead and your feild of view to be taken up by the dark hued coat
The beast's eyes were closed and it leaned its head into yours, it remained stilled for a moment before it nuzzled against you.
Your right hand twitched as you brought it up to the side of its massive face, yet it let you touch its velvet-soft fur.
"Let me know what you are feeling" you whispered, more to the force than anything, yet it responded
A soft purr rumbled throughout it body while its aura flashed you in vivid colours of confusion, fear, urgency and hope.
Your brows furrowed in confusion, why would this creature be feeling this way??
Your hand caressed its cheek and it leaned into your minstrations.
"Let me get up" you ordered softly
The creature nodded against you and backed up, its thin tail whipping behind it as it glanced around the room. The action seemed overtly cautious for a creature that had bene lying in wait to attack...
The fog was disappearing and just as you saw the empty spot where you'd last seen Binx, the creature was nudging you hard enough to push you over.
The second it had done so, it stood over you. Containing you to under its legs, it twirled around studying the room again. It's aura filled with unease and a want to protect.
Your heart lit up at the emotion. If this creature hadn't been here before and now was, after Binx had disappeared - and now it wished to aid you...well you could only think of one explaination
"Binx" you called up to the creature
A moment later, it struck it head between its legs to look at you upside down
"Oh my force..." you breathed out in a stupour "Do you know what happened to you...?"
The creature shook its head.
It understood you perfectly fine and responded to your commando's name - you really had no doubt now.
"Binx..." you gasped out feeling your panic start to leave you and tears gather in your lashes "I'm so sorry"
Binx made a weird cry at you, although it sounded mournful, as he moved around until he could nuzzle against your chest.
"I don't know how this happened...but I swear, I'll fix it" you promised hugging his head to you.
He purred in response then pulled you upright on your feet, nodding towards the wall.
You gingerly walked over, avoiding the smashed pillars you'd once been holding up. There laid a flight of stairs leading downwards, and the relic you'd been hunting nestled right at the end of them.
Hesitantly, you traversed and plucked the orb in your hands, waiting for something else to occur. But nothing did. Instead, you brought it back up the stairs to find Binx waiting for you.
Binx nodded then swung his head toward the door before he began stalking towards it.
"If we leave, I might not be able to undo this!" you called, grabbing his tail.
He immeadiately spun around and swatted at you with a loud yowl.
"Sorry" you rushed out, promptly letting go
He huffed and swung the thin appendage away from your reach. His emotions sifted through worry, duty, and urgency.
"Alright," you conceeded in a whisper as you pulled your comm to your lips "Binx and I are returning with the target item. Be advised, Binx has been hit with some kind of effect and is currently...not himself"
"Affirmative, we are standing by. If you do not return withing 13 minutes, we'll come get you"
"Sounds great" you answered as you walked to the door "Alright buddy, let's get back to the ship.
"Where's Binx?"
You frowned as the commandos before you looked at you and then each other.
"What do you mean?" you grumbled
"Wasn't he coming out with you?"
You glanced to Binx, who stood beside you in his black furry-form, then back to his two brothers.
"Nine-three, I know he looks weird...but Binx's here" You patted Binx's head and he let out an unhappy grump
Both his brothers jumped looking around with their guns poised
"Lich, you better have those engines hot for us" Nine-three growled into his armband
"Been waiting, yeah"
You watched them with furrowed brows.
"How can you not see him? He's standing right there!" You rounded the boys and stood behind them.
Sure enough, you could still easily see Binx.
Then a thought dawned on you...
"Take your helms off"
"What?" "Wait, what?!" they sputtered, their heads shooting in your direction
You huffed and repeated youself.
The looked at one another then both removed their helmuts. A shock of red and blonde hair being revealed as they did so, the two looked at you with confusion.
You spun your finger, gesturing them to turn around.
They obeyed and then screamed, promptly aiming their blasters
"N-no! Boys, that's Binx!"
"That is not our baby brother" Nine-three yelled taking aim
"Get behind me" Butcher grabbed you and shoved your body behind his
"Uh...boys, I just walked out with him" you reminded patting Butcher's shoulder and imposing calm feelings "Lower the blaster"
Nine-three glanced at you and hesitantly lowered his own.
"Well kriff this place..." He breathed out
"Binxy-boy okay?" Lich called over the comm
Binx nodded, slowly stalking over to Nine-three and pressing his head to his brother's abdomen
"This is the most kriffed up shit..." Butcher grumbled his eyes wide as he watched the creature and his brother "I want to go home. Now."
"What are we going to do with him?" Nina-three asked with concern filled eyes "We can't take him back looking like this"
"I'll inform the council on the flight back, he's not a wild beast. Just looks like one" you sighed
The commandos frowned but agreed, informing their last brother of the situation as the four of you boarded the ship to head home.
On the way back to Courascant, you spoke in length to the jedi council about your trip, findings, and the unfortunate accident that occured to Binx. And while they assured you that they would help you bring him in and find a way to lift the curse placed upon him...there was no guarantee they actually could. And so, you were tasked with smuggling your feline-looking trooper
into one of the lower levels of the temple. Somwhere prying eyes would not find him and cause a stir while you awaited the council to find a way to end this strange happenstance.
"So... is Binx just going to be stuck like that?" Lich asked as the three of them waited in their Jedi's quarters, as told.
"I mean...it would be interesting," Butcher chuckled, but upon recieving a slap upside the head, then added "but it definitely has to go"
"The jedi will figure something out, won't they?" Lich looked at his brothers with a frown, then met their 'leader's' eyes
"I hope so," Nine-three grumbled "I don't want to have to fight the senate for him back"
"Back?" Butcher mumbled with furrowed brows "They'd take him?"
"Butch, do you seriously think they wouldn't?" Lich looked at the blonde with surprise, Nine-three following suit
"How the hell have you gotten through all the training with rotten brains like that?"
"Just lucky I guess" he shrugged in return
Nine-three was just about to smack his brother again when the door opened to reveal their jedi
"How's Binx?" Lich called jumping up quickly
You gave them an uneasy smile and reached out the door to pull their lost brother in appearing compeltely normal, missing only his helmut - which his brothers had with them
The three cheered and dove for him but were paused with a hand up.
"We have new rules in this squad" you began, pulling a chain from inside Binx's curiass with a charm on it "This cannot leave his person. If it does, he'll go back to that beastial form"
The other commandos all began to make protest but were stopped short again.
"This isn't a curse the council can lift easily - if at all. It took every single one of the masters to get this far. But they're all drained and exhausted. There's nothing to be done until the archivists can study the relic and site."
"This is good enough for me, brothers" Binx let out a sheepish grin "At least I'm not some weird, giant Tooka...that was so messed up"
Binx was quickly pulled into the middle of a hug-huddle. The commandos releived and happy to have their youngest brother back and looking normal.
You watched on happily, you had been really frightful during this whole ordeal and not only just for you but for them as well.
"Get over here, our dinui" Binx called as he reached out from his comfortable and loving prision to grab your hands and pull you in as well.
The 5 of you held onto one another, unsure how proceeding forward with Binx's new situation...but all of you were determined to make it work.
Once Marshal Commanders Cody and Fox were formally made aware of the situation, and after they both had a moment to calm down, both decided it was best to leave it underwraps in the jedi achieves only and not inform the chancellor of this strange development with one of the Commandos.
Too much stress and paperwork. Plus it was far too strange for their liking.
