The Disaster Mando’s
Here’s a breakdown of Junior’s ade, from oldest to youngest.
@sorry-but-no-sorry
Tumblr media
Baz is a Chiss/Mirilian hybrid
Force sensitive.
His Chiss family wanted a force user in the family. Baz’s mother thought she achieved this after seducing a Mirilian jedi, except after Baz was born he showed no signs of being force sensitive. After years of testing and attempts at training he was considered a “failure” and left to the family’s servants.
Since birth Baz’s mother forced him to paint the green pigmentation of his skin blue and wear an eye patch to cover his left eye. In her mind, it was bad enough she had to go to a different species to try for a force sensitive but to have it so visible couldn’t be tolerated.
A maid, heartbroken by Baz’s treatment by his mother, took him and ran away. Planet hopping, Baz felt a “pull” and strayed away from his caretaker and wandered around. Getting tired he sat outside a cantina and that is when Junior strolled out and saw the child. Growing concerned about the kid he questioned where his family was, or if he could take him to a caretaker.
Baz told him he “ran away” because he was a disappointment. Junior, feeling bad for the kid, told him he was coming with him now.
Junior was shocked at how sensitive Baz was about how he looked. He stopped trying to cover up his green but insisted on wearing the eye patch.
It took a lot of work between Junior and Piy to get Baz to like himself.
Tumblr media
Dok is a Chagrian /Nautolan
Dok grew up with his parents (father Chargin, mother Nautolan) by the sea.
When he was 2, his mother died from an illness, his father needed a better job to support the two of them so he moved them farther inland to work.
This took its toll on Dok, sure soaking in a tub of water helped but he needed more. He started to get sick and became a weak child. His father knew what was happening and did his best to take care of his son. But his hands were tied; it was go back to where they used to live and be homeless, or stay here where it’s stable but Dok is sick.
Dok’s dad owns a trading station, Junior starts doing work for him delivering goods.
The two talk and one day Junior brings Baz along with him. Dok’s dad is surprised by the boy and learns that Junior adopted him, as Mandolorian’s do.
He starts questioning Junior, asking him about what planet he lives on, what it’s like, what his family is like, were they welcoming of Baz, things like that. When Junior mentioned a lake near his home that him and his sister always swam in, Dok’s dad made his decision.
He asked Junior to adopt his son.
The Nautolan part of Dok needed water. He was just making enough for them to live in town and the area they are in is high traffic, moving back was to out of the way.
Junior asked if he was serious and Dok’s dad insisted he take him. He can’t give him the life he needs and as much as it pains him, he can’t take care of his son where they are now. Junior agrees and takes Dok.
Out of the 4, Dok is the only one who is still in contact with his Father. Junior would bring him on his errands to the trading post so the two can see each other and talk. Dok doesn’t harbour any ill will to his Father, and appreciates what he did for him.
Tumblr media
Kari-el is a Nautolan
As a child he found an old bomb from the clone wars, thought it was a toy, and brought it home. He played with it a bit, unknowingly activating it. He left home and the bomb went off killing his family. He was only a child and this was a child’s mistake.
Junior found him at the remains of his home and took him in.
The trauma of this event gave him memory loss, he has no memory of his childhood or before the explosion. He suffered from nightmares and an odd sense of deja vu at day to day activities. He suddenly remembered everything after opening a crate Junnie had shipped to the shop that held the same bomb he had found. He couldn’t bear to live with the memories and almost took his life.
Junior and Reg had to talk him down, and later asked him if he wanted Baz to wipe the memories from his mind.
He agreed.
Tumblr media
Fiasco is a Zabrak
Has a hard time focusing on anything and needs direction. Due to zabraks having an independent nature, he is given up by his family and taking in by Junior. Junior is patient with him and helps him.
He is the main reason why Junior finally pulls his head out of his ass and asks Piy out. Fiasco could not understand why his Buir’s weren’t together, from when Junior brought him home he latched onto Piy as his mother figure. It got to the point where Fiasco would have panic attacks whenever Piy would go home, thinking she was abandoning him. A lot of talking took place between the three, that led to Junior finally admitting his feelings for his childhood friend and eventually marrying her.
When he’s older, him and his vod come across an attacked settlement and find a baby. Fiasco is taken with the infant and takes her in as his own. With the help of his vode, the 4 of them raise her.
Kebiin, his adopted daughter, is Pantoran. Both Fiasco and Kebiin later get the same face marking’s Lucy has, as a way of remembering her after she passed.
Now Baz enjoyed the notion of being the “older brother”. He is the oldest, but Dok and Fiasco tower over him so he takes it as a strike against his ego.
Dok, the second oldest, is the responsible one. He has to deal with his vods shenanigans and TRY to keep them in line. He also learned a variety of first aid and medical from Reg, so he is the one who bandages up the others when they get hurt.
Kari-el, the second youngest, is the bigger shit disturber and always needs to have an eye on him.
Fiasco, the youngest and purest, needs direction and usually gets dragged into shenanigans by Kari-el. He is 100% a himbo and has the biggest heart.

Theory: The Clone X was not Cody like some people think or even Fives (I know he's been dead for a very long time but so was Boba Fett and look where we are. Plus, Echo was supposed to be certainly dead too; making him Winter Soldier-esque storyline wouldn't be that surprising) or not even Slick.
((Also, now that we've seen his face devoid of any tattoos or scars I think first two takes are definitely not applicable anymore; they wouldn't put that much effort to make him unrecognizable))
Back to the point: In my opinion, The Clone X was none other than...
Fox.
Now let me explain.
Who else, other than X, was loyal to the law and justice dictated by it over any moral or ethic code?
Fox.
Who else was portrayed with such single-minded focus on hunting down traitors of the government he served, regardless of what it was?
Fox.
Who else could know not only Coruscant so well but also identify Rex like they knew each other?
He already was a remarkably successful tracker of traitors, why not make him more efficient by pointing them out for him?
Good soldiers follow orders, after all.
#clone assassin#commander fox#star wars tbb#i know that hes got killed really early after Order in comics but i would honestly prefer him to die this way#the bad batch spoilers#commander cody#arc trooper fives#tcw slick#cc 1010#star wars#sw tbb#sw the bad batch#the bad batch season 3#tbb theory#we dont even know for sure how he looks like cause in one moment we see corries without helmets all of them have standard paintjob#idk if its just animation error but because of it we cant be 100% sure fox ever regreted it without him being shown grieving with rest#hes just taking a breath when fives is dying and personaly i see it more as him rolling his eyes that rex is being mushy with traitor#but there are 3 clones behind fox when hes shown and then the one taking off his helmet stands beside 2 others so it may actualy be it???#and if he DOES regret it imo is more in 'shame i had to do it' rather than 'shame i did it' way if you know what i mean#hes just doing his job and hes GOOD at it. not his fault that him being competent is bad for the good guys#my point is: outside of one page incomic that can be at any point made noncanon or recontextualized theres no evidence that it cant be him#they already retconed more important things. why not this?#i think its likely that in case im right we can assume that all named corries were made into CloneX#none of them appeared yet despite how much of action happens on coruscant#and only thorn died on screen; in a way preventing him from being viable option nonetheless#three hits point blank months before Order seem unlikely but theyve done weirder things so him returning wouldnt be THAT weird so uhh idk#but yeah cx-02 is tech#winter soldiering doesnt stop#i mean THIS could be fox/other corrie but it being tech is way too cliche oportunity to waste it on them (derogatory towards disney)#pls disney let corries hunt down traitors like they used to pls

Tumblr media
Your apartment was almost empty. Moving containers were neatly stacked at the front door, with only a few personal items left to pack before your flight off-world two days from now.
It was time to move on.
Your apartment, this city, this planet, they all held too many ghosts.
Every morning when your eyes opened, there was hope he was still alive, that he was in bed next to you, ready to kiss your tears away.
Reality wasn’t far behind, always crashing over you when that split-second hope was ripped away, realizing you were alone and that he was gone. Dead.
You knew it was cowardly to run away, but your heart was heavy, your mind distracted by loss. You knew if you stayed on Coruscant any longer, you’d fade away, caught up in the past and what could have been.
A few weeks ago you requested a job transfer to a remote Republic outpost on a planet composed of small farming villages. The Separatists had recently razed the planet for natural resources, and they were desperate for help. You were assigned to a team dedicated to rebuilding and getting the community back on its feet.
Your job was how you met Echo, his squad assigned to you near the beginning of the war. You had supported The Republic with humanitarian aid, facilitating the setting up of refugee camps on the front lines. Your paths continued to cross, whether it was on the battlefield or on Coruscant, becoming closer each time. You were drawn to one another’s dedication to fighting for what was just, and helping those who couldn’t help themselves.
Eventually, you found yourself in his arms, his soft lips pressing to yours in an unsure first kiss, not knowing where this would lead the two of you. You continued to find one another though, your relationship and love growing stronger each time you could be together.
You lifted the last box of your belongings, setting it by the door as a lump grew in your throat. Tears clouded your vision as you remembered the last time you saw Echo, a memory that replayed in your mind every waking moment. It was what you thought of as you opened your eyes each morning, and the last thought you had before falling into a restless sleep, tears wetting your pillow.
Echo lay with you in your bed, holding you against him. The sun just coming up, light peeking through the curtains of your bedroom. Neither of you got much sleep the previous night, not wanting to waste one moment together.
Echo whispered sweet nothings in your ear as his warm hands roamed your body, his lips moving to leave featherlight kisses on your cheeks and forehead.
“I love you, mesh’la. I’ll be back soon, I promise.”
You buried your face into his neck, hearing his gentle words, feeling his heartbeat against yours. You traced your hands over his taught muscle, having already memorized every dip and curve on his body.
“I love you, too.” You kissed him deeply, wishing you had more time. Echo had to leave soon, off to join General Kenobi and Skywalker to rescue a kidnapped Jedi.
“I’ll hold you to that promise, soldier.” You murmured, pulling your lips away from his always soft ones.
Echo nudged his nose against yours, closing his eyes. “I never break my promises.”
Echo let himself relax, getting lost in you. He wondered how he was so lucky to have you. Out of all the men in the Galaxy, out of all the men that shared his exact genetic makeup, you chose him.
At first, he didn’t know why.
You worked alongside ritzy Coruscant politicians and senators that could offer you stability and a real future. He was just another soldier, born to serve and fight, not knowing if his next mission will be his last. But he found you in his arms over and over again, and every time it was harder for him to let you go.
The regulations he had come to know by heart never prepared him for this.
You understood him, saw him for more than just a soldier, another face in millions. You made him think of a future where you could be together, where you could rest. It inspired him to fight harder.
“You’re pouting.” You chuckled, noticing Echo was lost in his thoughts.
He glanced at you, his pout turning into a small smile. “I never pout.”
You hummed as you brought him in for another long, loving kiss. “I’ll be waiting for you, always. You know that, right?” You whispered, staring into his honeyed as they tenderly gazed back at you.
“And I’ll come back to you, always.”
You took in a shaking breath, wiping tears from your face. You couldn’t wait to get off this planet to start anew, hoping with time, these memories would fade and you could heal, just a little bit.
You sat down on a small chair, one of the last remaining pieces of furniture in your apartment. You looked out the window, watching speeders and ships fly by, the sun beginning to set over the endless city.
A faint tap interrupted your thoughts, coming from your front door.
At first, you thought it was something outside, or someone knocking on a door down the hall. You turned your head toward the sound as a louder knock solidified the fact it was indeed coming from the other side.
You stood up, slowly striding over as another knock sounded.
“Hello?” You called. You weren’t expecting anyone.
There was a moment of silence.
“Hello?” You called again, wondering if it was just your imagination.
A voice, muffled and uncertain, uttered your name from behind the door.
The voice was familiar, a gentle cadence that could only belong to one person.
One person who was supposed to be dead.
Someone who shouldn’t be standing on the other side of your door.
You felt like the air was sucked right out of your lungs, immediately recognizing the voice.
You were trying to breathe, your voice barely a whisper, your chest feeling like it was about to collapse in on itself.
“E-Echo?”
You felt nauseous, wondering if this was a sick joke. Was this a nightmare, did you fall asleep in the chair? Will you open the door, and no one will be there?
Your stomach churned as you heard your name again, faint and insecure.
Bile rose in your throat, and blood rushed in your ears.
“Open the door, mesh’la. It’s me.”
Your hand shook as it hovered over the button, not knowing if you wanted to open the door or not.
You bit down on the side of your cheek, tasting blood as you tried to discern what was reality, seeing if you were indeed trapped in a nightmare.
You leaned against the door to steady yourself, inhaling ragged breaths. A million thoughts raced through your head, a million emotions bubbling to the surface as your hand slammed the button to open the door. You gripped the side of the doorframe to stop yourself from falling to the ground.
Whoever stood there, whether it was a delusion, a trick, or a hallucination, was wearing his armor, his helmet.
You couldn’t speak, your throat feeling like it was closing up.
Echo was standing there in front of you. Your legs shook as you stumbled backward, still not believing what you were seeing.
“E-Echo?” His name was a choked sob as he gingerly stepped into your apartment. You continued to stumble backward, your head spinning as you backed into a wall.
“It’s me…” His voice was trembling through his helmet. “I…I wasn’t sure if I should message you or…I figured coming in person was best…I’m here, mesh’la. I’m sorry, I can try to explain…”
You couldn’t formulate words, your body was in shock. Echo didn’t approach you further, seeing your distress. “Echo…I don’t understand…you were dead…they told me and…I…” Your vision was going blurry with tears, trying to process what was happening.
“T-take off your helmet, I need to see you.”
Echo nodded, swallowing thickly.
This is what he feared most.
Not you being angry at him showing up at your door, saying he’s alive after all this time. Not you having moved on, maybe even with a different man.
It was the look of disgust you would have when you saw him, what they did to him. Nonetheless, he had to come to see you, you deserved to know that he was alive, and he had to know that you were okay.
Echo raised his arms toward his helmet, hesitating. This is when you noticed he was missing his arm, and the cybernetics in his legs. “I’m…different.” He uttered, seeing you staring. “I’m not the same.”
“Please…Echo…” You took a step closer to him, your legs still shaking, tears dripping down your cheeks. “I need to see you. I don’t care.”
You watched as his shoulders fell, still hesitating to take off his bucket, preparing himself for the worst. He sighed, sliding it off his head, revealing his shaved head and ports in his skull. You were momentarily shocked at his sullen and pale appearance, not from disgust or fear, but from what he must have been through to come back to you.
These were all questions for later.
He looked different, yes. But it was undeniably him based on the look in his eyes. Maker, his eyes. Those eyes that used to look at you with so much fondness, loyalty, and love. Now they were swimming with sadness, fear, and uncertainty.
It was him, there was no doubt in your mind.
You launched yourself at him, Echo not knowing if you were coming at him for an attack or an embrace. Surprising him, it was the latter. You swung your arms around his neck, pulling him into you, sobbing his name over and over into his chest. His helmet clattered to the ground at the shock and impact of your embrace.
Too many emotions were threatening to explode out of you. Happiness, disbelief, shock, anger, everything. All you could do was cry. You spent so long thinking he was dead, your grief almost swallowing you alive every day. But he was here, breathing, real.
Your legs were weak again, desperately hanging on to him. Echo’s arm came around you, holding you in place, not knowing if he even deserved to touch you, keeping his scomp arm hanging at his side.
You stayed like that for a while, gripping him tightly, letting everything you’ve been keeping in for so long out, your body heaving with every sob of his name. He rested his chin on your head, wanting to say so much, tell you everything, but it was caught in his throat. He felt his tears swell at the corner of his eyes, hearing your cries knowing the torment you must have been carrying around with you since he was gone. He felt guilty.
Finally, you had no more tears left to cry. You steadied your breath, pulling away from his chest, looking up at him. He refused to meet your gaze, his expression grim.
“Echo, look at me.”
“I’m not who I used to be.” Echo’s voice was low. “I understand if you don’t-“
You didn't let him finish, crashing your lips against his, gripping the back of his head, putting everything you had into this kiss. All the sadness and loneliness lifting away from you, feeling his lips once again, hearing his voice. The same soft lips from your memories, what you dreamed about every single night.
Echo melted at your intense kiss, his insecurities forgotten momentarily as he felt your body against his, something real and whole. He hadn’t stopped thinking about you ever since he was torn from the machines, wondering if you’d still want him, if he could even find you.
You pulled away, gasping, your face still wet from the tears. You kissed him again, this time all over his cheeks, his eyes, his forehead, everywhere you could get your lips. You wanted to show him that you still loved him, you didn’t care if he was different. He was still Echo, the man you loved.
His body was shaking against yours, wanting to touch you, show you how much he missed you. He couldn’t for fear of hurting you, waiting for you to recoil once you realized what he had become.
Broken. Unworthy. More machine than man.
“Echo, you’re still you. You’re alive.” You whispered between kisses. “Whatever happened…I’m just glad you’re with me. I love you no matter what.”
Now it was his turn to hold on to you tightly, wrapping both his arms around you, careful not to rib you with his scomp. He was still getting used to his new body.
“I love you.” He whispered, his voice trembling. “I never stopped loving you.” He buried his face into your hair, inhaling your fragrance. “You kept your promise.” You muttered. “You came back to me.” You looked up at him, gently caressing the side of his face. A faint smile ghosted at his lips, his expression softening, realizing you might not run away from him, after all.
“I told you I’d come back to you.” He leaned down toward you, pressing his forehead against yours, not wanting to let you go. “I never stopped loving you either, Echo.” He squeezed you tighter as you both stood there, embracing one another, your broken hearts healing with every passing second.
“You’re leaving.” He spoke finally, your empty apartment hadn’t gone unnoticed by him.
“I am…yeah. I thought…I had nothing left here.”
“I’m sorry.” Was all he could muster. “That I put you through this…”
“Echo…you don’t need to apologize for anything.” You leaned back from him, nodding toward your bedroom. “Lay down with me?” Echo felt panic rise his chest. The thought of being intimate with you and exposing his body was too much, even though he desperately wanted you.
You saw the panic in his eyes. “No! Not like that. I just want to…be with you. Is that okay?” Echo nodded, feeling relieved. He followed you into the bedroom. A familiar feeling washed over him, remembering the nights he would stay over. Sharing kisses, whispering loving confessions under the sheets, always wishing you had more time. It seemed like a lifetime ago. It was almost surreal, being back here, with you.
The room was devoid of all your personal belongings now, just the bed in the middle of the room. Things were going to be different from here on out, but maybe it was for the best. It was time for both of you to move on, together.
You sat down at the edge of the bed, Echo sitting next to you. You took his hand, entwining it with yours. He leaned against you, feeling the warmth of your hand on his, his heart threatening to explode.
You were still the same kind, gentle person you always were. The way you gazed at him…it was like nothing had changed. He felt whole. The anxiety in his chest lessened, becoming aware that you didn’t care how he looked. Echo leaned in, giving you a chaste kiss. “You’re leaving too, aren’t you?” You whispered against his lips.
He nodded. “There’s a squad…I’m heading out with soon.” Echo replied. You knew he couldn’t quit the soldier lifestyle, just like he knew you couldn't quit helping those in need. It was who you were, and why you loved one another. You laid backward, bringing Echo with you. You cuddled up against his side, your hand still in his. You both had so much you wanted to say, but there was time for that later. For now, you just wanted to hold one another.
“I’ll still keep my promise.” Echo mumbled against you, squeezing your hand. “I’ll always come back to you, mesh’la. Always.”

The brainrot is winning
I'm having a strong soulmates phase and seeing that my codywan obssesion isn't going anywhere either... Let's get creative.
Soulmates AU: Everyone has life point/years left and people can people can give their soulmate their own life points/years.
So imagine!
It's the middle of the first year in the war. The 212 is send to a random planet to protect the people from the separatist atack and as always, it all goes to shit. The information is incorrect, the comms don't work properly and as a result, they are being rapidly overwhelmed. They fight for several days waiting for backup but while they wait, the provision keep running lower and lower. It get's to the point where people from the planet start helping with local medicine and shelter for the injured because there is no other options. Obviusly is in one of these desperate moments that it happens.
Everyone is tired; they've been fighting for days with no chance of a break and when one is tired, they make mistakes more easily. Obi-wan and Cody are aware of that and they do the best they can to allow rotations in the front long enough to get a break to the poor troopers, but it's almost impossible when there is less and less with each day.
Cody is in the front shooting to any droid that dares to come near his sight, his general on the other side of the fild protecting the troops only recognizable for the blue flashes that came through the heavy cloud of dust that seems to never disapear in this goddamn planet. Maybe is the lack of sleep and rations, maybe is the hyperfocuss that comes everytime his in the battlefield, maybe to many explotions have made his hearing weaker, either way, somehow a droid gets past his comfort zone and the alarmed shout of one of his brothers is the only thing that makes him realize his mistake.
They manage to bring down the droid but not before Cody get's shot a couple of times. He doesn't even notice it until he tries to go back to his original position to continue and he fucking collapses.
Obi-wan, on the other side, is making the best he can to not loose more clones, destroy every droid that crosses his way and ignore the force exsaustion. It's after defiting a massive tank with aparent flawless effort only to end up tripping with air that he admits defeat and let Bones drag him to one of the shelters.
inside the shelter you can find multiple clones in diverse states of pain and injuries, a mix of medics and locals running around with bacta patches, bends and many types of plants based balms. Obi-wan tries his best not to flinch with every clone he passes by, getting more and more distressed with every wave of pain his man shoves his way unintetionally with the force. By the time they sat him on an empty suplly box, he is so overwhelmed he doesn't react to anything untl he recognizes the clone stationed on his side.
"Cody!" he shouts unwittingly of the people around.
The commander is lying on a pile of age-corroded blankets, surrounded by diverse bowls full of leafy concoctions, without his top armor and covered with different leaves in several places. When Obi-wan cruches next to him, he gets to smell all the different balms and oils from the leaves, but also, underneath it all, he can sense the pains and struggles exuding from this man, how breathing is getting more labored with every second, how dangerusly warm the skin feels.
How close to death he is.
Obi-wans heart aches. There are not the supplies needed for his type of injuries and he is too tired to do anything to help his commander, the force barely helping him stay knelt by his side and this is enough to make his vision blurry. Barely a month ago he had managed to gain enough trust from this man to get his name and now here he lies... Obi-wan shakes his head refusing to drop tears for someone who wasn't gone. And will not be gone. If there is something he is known for is being stubborn and if he says his commander will live another day, then he will. If he says he has enough force energy to help Cody, he will have it.
Nodding decided to himself, Obi-wan grabs carefully with both trembling hands Codys arm and brings it close to him. He is about to take a deep breath when a shocked gasp leaves him breathless instead.
Something happens for a second, it feels like a zap of energy crossing his boddy and then there is nothing.
Obi-wan stays there for a couple minutes breathing heavily. Slowly he turns Codys arm around. There, he sees a number in the upper arm and is suddenly reminded of one of the deepest mysteries of the force. A choked sob leaves him involuntarily when another zap crosses his body and synchronously the number that had almost becomed 0 goes up again.
He doesn't even think about it before handing year after year. He knows that him himself had at least a hundred years on his counter and althoug it had been a long time since he checked it, he didn't care.
He stops when the number gets to 45 years.
Obi-wan takes a deep breath and open his eyes slowly, he doesn't remember closing them but he doesn't really care because the first thing he sees is his commander sleeping peacefully. He smiles and hesitates before releasing the arm. He takes some of the bowls and after verifying with the forse for danger, he aplies some over the number to cover it.
He hopes no one notices before Cody. That thought reminds him that he is in a very public place at the moment and he look around suddenly aware of his surroundings. Everybody is too rushed and preoccupied to even notice the miracle that just happened. A little bit of shame invades him at the thought that someone would be watching him in this kind of situation.
"General!" A troopers call startles him in the direction of the shout. He sees Waxer struggling with the amount of people running in different directions to get to him and the scene of him almost tripping makes him smile involuntarily.
"Waxer, how can i help you?" He asks when the poor trooper is finally by his side.
"Reinforcements are on their way, sir! We've recived a transmission from General Skywalker to be attentive of his arrival" Waxer responds barely holding himself of jumping happily while various troopers on earange start cheering.
"That's a wonderful new, that's honestly... a kriffing relieve..." Obi-wan release a relieved sigh that overlays the collective gasp of the troopers and starts to get up. "I'll go help some more before Anakin arrives, I'm feeling better either way" He says making his way outside the shelter and unaware of the several gapping clones he's left behind.
It takes three days to stop the separatist. Cody wakes up on the second day and only entertains Bones with a couple of tests from his 'miraculous' recovery before shaking of the dried leaves with some help of the locals and getting inmediately on his blacks and then his armour. He doesn't realize the soft gasp from the person cleaning his arm and then whispering to his friends when Cody basically escapes to the bettlefield followed by a frustrated Bones that insists he needs to atleast eat a ration bar.
When general and commander find eachother, there is too much going on the battle field to have a conversation, so after seeing one another from the distance and sharing a nod of acknowledgment they go back to the task in hands.
By the time they get to the Negotiator on the end of the third day, exhaustion, grief and hunger are the only things on their brains. They had lost so many and even though they wanted to do anything more than to fall asleep on the spot, they still needed to keep going until everybody else was ok.
"General!" Or at least that was the idea before Helix started walking menasingly towards them. "Bones told me to take you to medbay the moment i see you"
Obi-wan grimaces before sighing resigned. He turns around to see Cody already smiling at him with pity and some baddly hidden humor.
"Don't you think you are safe either commander" Helix remeinded Cody of his conditional release. "Go get yourself clean before making presense on the medbay. I've already noticed your absense to the rest so there is not escaping."
"And why can't I-"
"Because Cody smells like he decided to wallow on a garden and that's an allergy magnet if I've ever seeing one, better get that out of the way quick. You on the other side, I can see you favoring your right side"
"..."
"..."
When Cody arrives to the fresher he is not surprissed to find other troopers already using them, it's normal after a battle, so he just gets out of his armour and blacks and just waits for his turn. He can hear some troopers chatting on the side that he tunes out while he starts inspecting everyone for injuries. Most of them are not heavily injured, some bad scratches here and there but nothing life threatening. He hums to himself when he sees the number on one of the troopers.
Clones had this unspoken rule of never mentioning the soulmate counter. Most of them didn't even get to the second digit and every battle only reduced that number to the inevitable day. Finding their soulmate wasn't even something they could look upon, with most of the time spend in battle or traveling, weirdly interacting with other individuals and the ankward situation that all the being a clone implies.
"All yours commander!" the call from one of his brothers exiting the fresher brings him back to reality and shaking himself out of that path of thoughts he goes to the fresher.
The unavoidable happens when he is getting himself back on a new pair of blacks.
He is thinking of his batchmate Bly, one of the only lucky ones to have found the impossible, in non other than his general. He remember the hysteric call he recived at an unholy hour not even two days after his departure. The memorie makes him smile fondly and unconsciously he goes to see his own number.
45 years.

Clone wars hc
Been lurking on tumblr for a bit (while) and decided to throw my own clone wars hc cause the hyperfixation be hyper fixated (sorry for any spelling errors).
Kit Fisto and Obi-Wan are bffs - They both lose their robes and seem to flirt with anything that walks. meaning they have get togethers and give each other flirting advice.
Jocasta Nu and Admrial Yularen are BAMF, and are severly underrated. you don't get away with hurting someone they care about unpunished.
Rex's first thought of ashoka was "that's a child" followed by "that's a child on a battle field" and then "that's a child on a battle field with no clothes, what the kark".
One of the shinies from Monnk's battalion definitely asked Fisto (while high on pain meds) if he lactates and monnk and fisto lost their shit and couldn't stop laughing for 5 min straight.
Kix (and other medics by default) have tranq/hypo guns for any vode or jedi that try to leave med bay when on bed rest.
Fox and Amidala gossip and constantly talks shit about Palpatine
Kit Fisto Smile Supremacy, this man win's best smile, it never fails to cheer someone up.
Rex definitely twirls his guns before putting them in his holsters when he's done using them
Bly is obviously in love with Aayla, and he tries to hide it (and fails miserably) but he's so respectful about loving her and swooning, that Quinlan couldn't even give him a shovel talk.
the clones were absolutely baffled when they met the jedi's
Wolffe and Fox are twins, they might be at each others throats 90% of the time, but if you talk shit about the one of them, the other won't hesitate to beat your ass.
Monnk says the most off handed shit in a dead pan tone (ex. Monnk: well I'm not gonna live, laugh, love this. Fisto, laughing his ass off: I-I'm Sorry? Monnk: I'm just saying this is gonna be a bitch)
Plo Koon is Plo Buir, He's at least adopted the Wolf Pack and Ashoka
the 501st and Ashoka are siblings
Grey adopted Caleb Dume
The Iron Battalion/13th battalion took one look at Cal and immediately adopted him
Ponds isn't dead (cause fuck canon), he found Boba before his schemes could go off and made him a deal, He helps Boba plan the assassination attempts on Windu (he trust his general won't die, but he gave him more headaches) so there's no casualties, but slowly the attempts stop and now Boba just lives in the 91st venator's vents.
The first time Cody picked up Obi-Wan's lightsaber he thought it was so cool, and now he just wants to glue the damn thing into his hand
Hound spoils Grizzer, he absolutely adores the massif
Jesse make sure Kix is actually taking care of himself, and make sure he's not over working (and when necessary, he uses a hypo to make sure Kix sleeps, cause Kix will hold that over his head and pay him back for it)
Fox and Thorn are opposites but they are really close
The corrie guard has a list of all the good and bad senators
The most forms that Monnk and Cody (and occasionally Ponds) fill out are forms for more robes
Cody's name is Kote (but goes by Cody cause so many nat borns mispronounce it) and Obi-Wan randomly asked if that was his name, and Cody was just utterly shocked
After Umbara, Fox say a very traumatized trooper (it's Dogma) who is facing shitty consequences for doing the right thing and adopts him into the guard
After Kix woke up from his stasis and found artoo's (again, fuck canon) he would stay up on nights he couldn't sleep and watch videos of him and his vode from artoo's memory bank
Clones using their Jedi's lightsaber - Cody using Kenobi's lightsaber after he loses it for the millionth time, Rex using it to back ventress away from ashoka, Fox finding quinlan's in a dumpster (with quinlan in said dumpster)
Hound let's grizzer purposely tackle people when he can easily apprehend them because it's funny or because whoever he's chasing pissed him off and he's petty
Yoda is the ultimate menace (like srs palpitine hates his ass, but yoda -and everyone else- hates him even more)
Yoda still keeps in touch with Rys, Jek, and Thire (mainly Thire) after the treaty or smth
The Corrie found Quinlan Vos in a dumpster and now he won't stop bugging them (expecially Fox)
Fox is a walking encyclopedia of every republic laws, you do one minor thing wrong and he can quote every law you broke, word to word
A trooper (let's call him Sharks) from Fisto and Monnk's battalion can just get a group of sharks to gather around, at every planet, every time, without fail
Plo's disappointed dad sigh can make a separatist army fold into defeat
Kenobi absolutely loathes caf, he hates it with a passion
Each high ranking clone officer has to deal with something of their jedi - Cody has to deal with Kenobi flirting with seperatist and losing his lightsaber, Rex has to deal with his general constantly crashing ships, his batshit crazy plans and his general continuously using the force to throw him, Monnk has to deal with his general randomly "shedding" clothes, and all the clones have to deal with their generals and commanders not wearing armor (Except for Jaro Tapal, HE'S THE ONLY ONE WHO WEARS ARMOR)
Corrie Guard can sleep standing up, very useful when guarding in the pods during senate meetings
The nice Senators (mainly Chuichi, Amidala, and Organa) and Vos very often get things for the Coruscant Guards, and whenever the guard see's the gifts they are baffled and bamboozled
Rex called dibs on Domino squad after the moon mission
Echo and Fives without hesitation took Tup and Dogma under their wing
Fives, Hardcase and Jesse started a prank war in the 501st that accidently evolved into a GAR wide prank war (with Coruscant being neutral ground, cause the guard doesn't need to deal with that shit, doesn't mean they don't help out)
Fox holds ALL the blackmail, and has multiple informants in every battalion, plus he has the power to withhold caf shipments
Fox also regularly reads his batchmates mission reports to mae sure their ok
The Corrie guard accidently adopted a stray tooka and a loth cat, now they're the guards emotional support animals
Rex keeps complaining about his brothers flirting with their jedi's that he didn't even realized that he third wheeled between Anakin and Padme that he joined their relationship
every mothers or fathers day without fail, shaak ti and plo koon always gets presents and gifts from their children (troopers and cadets.... and ashoka)
Coric is Kix's Ori'vod, he didn't admit it at first but Kix grew on him and well medics stay togeth
Coric purposely avoided being CMO of the 501st because they are hellions, Kix wanted to strangle him after he realized what being CMO of the 501st meant
Rex was on the 212th with Cody when Anakin was still a padawan
Rex hates evals, natural blonde plus Kamino is a recipe for hell. Also he was shocked at Skywalker being nonchalant about his hair, Anakin just though it made him cooler
That's all I have for now, if you see any you've seen before my bad, I honestly just typed the first that came to mind and kinda spiraled from there. I'm just now starting to interact with tumblr, so I might upload more and maybe even some art if I can stay focused long enough.

It's My Choice
Summary: Echo is in recovery at a GAR medical facility on Coruscant after being assumed KIA. You want to see him, more than anything, and you hope he knows that he's your choice.
Pairing: ARC Trooper Echo x F!Reader
Word Count: 1190
Warnings: reader is described as having hair long enough to style, and as a supermodel.
Tagging: @trixie2023 @n0vqni @imabeautifulbutterfly
A/N: So I had an idea, and I decided to run with it. It might not flow well, simply because I'm very sick and have been for the last two days, but I'm happy with it. (Also, pardon any typos/grammar errors, I typed this while not wearing my eyes.)
Tumblr media
You lean back in the hard, uncomfortable chair of the GAR medical facility, your gaze drifting to the ceiling as you wait for an update on Echo. The chairs really are terrible, but then the clones were never meant to have worried family you suppose.
Jokes on them. Echo has you.
You allow the back of your head to thump against the wall behind you and you stretch your legs out in front of you and cross your ankles.
You've been here for almost 12 hours now.
Fives contacted you as soon as the Resolute landed on Coruscant and informed you that Echo was alive and was being treated for his injuries here. He mentioned that you didn't have to come, but clearly he's lost his damned mind.
As if you'd be anywhere else.
Of course, you probably should have taken the time to make sure that you fixed your hair and washed the extreme make-up off…and changed out of the six inch stilettos you had been forced into for work today.
But, whatever. Echo's alive. Nothing else matters.
Even if your agent has been blowing up your com for the last six hours. And even if General Skywalker has been side-eyeing you like he thinks you're trespassing.
Your comma chimes again, and you absently lift it over your head to read the message. And then promptly deleted it. Your agent will just have to deal.
A door at the end of the hall opens, and you tilt your head to the side, before you sit up straight as Fives steps into the hall and walks over to you.
He takes in your carefully styled hair —artfully tousled, your stylist called it— the dark make-up, and the impossibly high stilettos and he huffs out a laugh, “You come here right from a shoot?”
“Echo’s more important than any photo shoot. Besides, I had already finished when you called.” You reply as you kick your heels off and scramble to your feet, “Can I see him?”
Fives smiles at you, “Yeah. Follow me.” He waits for you to scoop your heels, and your bag, off the ground before he starts walking, “I should warn you…he looks bad.” Fives says quietly as he stops next to the door.
You lift your chin and glare at him, “Contrary to what you, and apparently everyone else, believes. I'm not dating Echo because of his pretty face.”
“Okay, okay. Sheathe your claws, kitten. I just wanted to warn you.” Some of the offended tension drains from your shoulders, you didn’t mean to snap at him, but it wouldn’t be the first time someone made an assumption about you and your choice to have a relationship with Echo.
Fives opens the door and moves to the side to let you into the room, and your breath catches when you see him.
Like Fives said, he looks bad. Thin, too thin by far, and so pale. The prosthetics and cybernetics are new, but honestly, you’re only bothered by them because you’re sure that they must have hurt.
“Echo,” You step into the room, and set your heels and your bag in a chair, before you move closer to his side. There are tears in your eyes, but they’re happy tears, “Welcome home.”
Echo blinks at you, twice, and then he slowly slides up in the hospital bed, “Cyar’ika…when…how did you know I was here?”
“Fives commed me and told me. I’ve been sitting out there for hours.” You look around and then huff out a sigh, before dumping your stuff on the floor and moving the chair next to the bed. You lightly take his prosthetic in your hand, a scomp, rather than a hand.
You hope that it was his choice, rather than one made for him.
He tenses, but he doesn’t pull away from you, “You didn’t have to.”
You smile at him, “Echo. You’re here, and you’re alive. Where else would I be?”
His gaze flickers across your face, and then over to the heels lying on the floor, “Well, judging by the height of those heels, a photoshoot.”
“Not half as important as you.” You reply dismissively.
He shifts and slowly sits up, properly, before reaching out and pressing his flesh hand against your cheek, “Cyar’ika…” Echo hesitates, and then flashes a wry, self-deprecating smile, “I don’t think I’m pretty enough for you.”
You bite your tongue to stem your immediate, and loud, disagreement. Instead you reach up and press your hand over his, rubbing your cheek against his hand. “Why would you say that?”
“Why-? Cyare. Look at me!”
“I am looking.”
“Then I shouldn’t have to explain-”
“Would you like to know what I see when I look at you, Echo?”
“Not really.” You tilt your head, and he sighs, “Tell me.”
“The man who, after meeting me, an actual supermodel, invited me to go to a bookstore with him.” Echo flushes, and it’s obvious due to how pale he is, “A man who overheard me mentioning to my agent that I was worried that I wasn’t going to be able to meet my favorite author and made sure that I arrived on time.” Your smile widens, “A man who learned who my favorite author was, simply so he could read the books too, so he’d have something to talk about with me.”
Echo averts his gaze, “We talked all night.” He murmurs.
“We did. And I got in so much trouble the next morning because I had dark circles under my eyes, and you got in trouble because you were late to formation…but we did the exact same thing three nights later.”
Echo laughs softly, “I thought Rex’s head was going to explode.” He admits.
You release his scomp hand and reach up to press your hand against his cheek, “I see the man I fell in love with. The man who looks at me and sees more than the dumb supermodel that everyone expects me to be.” You scan his face, almost anxiously, “And I’m hoping he still loves me.”
He looks at you, something soft in his gaze, “You still want me-?”
“Always. Forever. Until the stars go cold.”
“Your agent is not going to approve.” Echo warns as he lightly tugs you off the chair and onto the edge of the bed.
“I cannot emphasize enough how little I care about my agent’s opinion.” You admit quietly, “If I have to choose, I know who my choice will be.”
Echo exhales slowly, and slowly tugs you in until your forehead lightly bumps against his, “I love you.” He whispers, “I never stopped loving you. Even when I could barely remember anything, I still remembered your smile and the smell of your lotion and the feel of your skin under my fingers.”
“Charmer.” You whisper.
“Mean every word.” Echo whispers right back, and then he tugs you once more and catches your lips in a kiss that’s soft and loving enough that it nearly brings you to tears.
You have your Echo back. He might look a little different, but he’s here and it’s all you’ve ever wanted.

Clone Force 99, nicknamed the Bad Batch and designated as Experimental Unit Clone Force 99, was a clone commando special forces squad that was active during the Clone Wars. The squad initially consisted of five clone commandos that were designed with genetic mutations:
Tumblr media
Crosshair, formerly designated CT-9904, was a clone commando who served in the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars as part of Clone Force 99. Crosshair possessed genetic mutations that gave him exceptional eyesight and marksmanship skills. As a result, he acted as a sniper and a long-range combatant.
Tumblr media
Wrecker, formerly designated CT-9903, was a clone commando who served in the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars as part of Clone Force 99. Due to genetic mutations, Wrecker was much larger and stronger than the average clone trooper. He loved blowing things up, and served as the muscle and demolitions expert for his squad.
Tumblr media
Tech, formerly designated CT-9902, was a clone commando who, as a result of his genetic mutations, served as the brains of his squad and was a valued asset in this regard, using his high intellect and mastery of technology to ensure their operations were successful. Even so, he was no less skilled in combat than the other three members.
Tumblr media
Hunter, formerly designated CT-9901, was a Clone Sergeant who served as the commanding officer of Clone Force 99. He was genetically altered to have heightened senses and was able to sense electromagnetic frequencies from anywhere on a planet.
Tumblr media
Ninety-Nine, formerly designated CT-9900, was a clone who suffered errors during the cloning process. His mutation was intended to provide him with an accelerated healing factor; while he did indeed heal wounds almost twice as fast as his brothers, his healing factor mutation unfortunately caused him to suffer severe progeria as a result of enhanced cellular turnover. Due to his valuable stem cells, bone marrow, and blood---which showed temporary improvements in wound healing speed in troopers who received transfusions---he was not terminated, and was instead removed from his squad at an early age and assigned maintenance duties. He was killed assisting Domino Squad in the defense of Kamino in 21 BBY.
Tumblr media
The four surviving members of Clone Force 99 named their squad in honor of their fallen brother.

Part 2 of the Cadel Aliit holopics series !
The 2 main characters who don’t know they will spend the rest of their lives together yet.
Tumblr media
Back then 404 being a commando knew and cared only about his batch mates and due to his rank, tended to act like a dick to clones lower than him.
Reg (freshly named thanks to a particular lanky commando) on the other end, suffered the losses of to many brothers troopers and grew accustomed to being by himself in the workshop…

Hi! I've got a 12 hour flight in a few days, so by any chance do you have any more star wars fic recs? I love your rec lists, they're so detailed and amazing and always such amazing recs!
Hi! I have been slowly plunking away at doing a recs list and here are some slightly longer fics (and a couple epics thrown in for fun) I've enjoyed that should hopefully round out your reading list! ✦ wayfinding by night by wrennette, obi-wan & luke & cast, time travel, 10.2k     Before him stood a fellow Jedi, worn and weary with loss. Obi-Wan finds himself on Ahch-To and helps Luke find a path through his grief.  ✦ Birds Fly in Different Directions by Triscribe, jedi & clones, time travel, 14.6k     In the corridor beyond her quarters, other Jedi were emerging from their own doors, most of them wide-eyed with shock. A few merely looked blearily concerned, and Aayla heard snatches of questions as she darted past, queries as to whether everyone experienced the same distressing vision. But those who clutched at their chests or throats, their weak points- those Jedi bore a muted horror in their eyes, and Aayla didn’t doubt they’d just suffered their own betrayals from trusted men.  ✦ Off-by-one Error by Jessepinwheel, obi-wan & cast, 12.2k     A stranger appears in the Jedi Temple. Nobody knows who he is or where he came from. Nobody knows what has happened to him except that it must have been something truly terrible. The stranger’s name is Obi-Wan Kenobi.  ✦ Loth-Cats and Loth-Rats by TessaDoesThings, mace & depa & kanan & ezra, 19k     All Mace Windu wanted out of the Post-Clone Wars world was a simple trip with his lineage to the long-forgotten Jedi Temples of the Outer Rim. However, on Lothal, the three might have bitten off more than they expected. The Republic may have triumphed, but the roots of what could have become the empire are gripped in the corners of the galaxy, and it might be time for some aggressive space weeding. Or a coup d'etat. That would work too. ✦ Unexpected Awakening (The Rewrite) by Rhiw, obi-wan & bruck & qui-gon & feemor & cast, time travel, 130.2k wip The life of General Kenobi is cut short at the hands of his Padawan, but the sight that greets his eyes upon awakening is not that of blinding light of the Force, but the Jedi Temple he knew when he was still a youth. As he struggles to understand the path laid out before him, Obi-Wan unwittingly captures the attention of a singularly unusual Temple Guard, and that of a reluctant Qui-Gon Jinn. ✦ Supreme Chancellor Obi-Wan Kenobi stonefreeak, obi-wan & anakin & padme & bail & palpatine & various jedi, 115.6k wip By an old Republic law, all members of the Jedi High Council are senators in the Galactic Senate, and can thus be voted in as chancellor. A Senator from a less prominent planet has had enough of Chancellor Palpatine's incompetence and calls for a Vote of No-Confidence and the installation of Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi as Supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Republic. This one action becomes the catalyst that changes the direction of the galaxy. ✦ Reprise by Elfpen, obi-wan & qui-gon & mace & anakin & cast, time travel, 558.8k wip Ben Kenobi dies aboard the Death Star in the year 0 BBY. He wakes up shortly thereafter in the Jedi temple in the year 41 BBY. Haunted by memories and regret, Ben must forge a new path for himself in the Jedi Order of his youth while navigating the murky waters of time travel. Crafting a better future from bitter experience is hard, but learning to heal is even harder. ✦ The Intruder by Hollyoakhill, obi-wan & original clone characters, 82.5k When a vicious attack from a strange, indestructible monster traps them on a derelict star destroyer, a young clone trooper fresh from Kamino join forces with Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi to find a way to escape.

Echo
Tumblr media
Although relationships with clones as a Jedi was forbidden, you could not help but develop immense feelings for a certain Arc Trooper. With eyes so kind and a heart so pure, it was hard not to fall for him which is quite literally what just happened.
During a battle stimulation, you made the mistake of wanting to take out the canons from above when you managed to slip and despite your best efforts tumble from above. Luckily for you however, a certain somebody had been covering your back and had no problem standing below you and physically catching you before you could injur yourself.
“Knew I could always count on you, Trooper.” You grin, tone loud over all the blaster fire before you jump out his arms and get back into the action.
He’s watching you in astonishment but as he steps forward and his foot judges soemthing, he looks down to see your lightsaber. He can not let your Master see the error that you made.
When the training was over, barely with time to spare you’re looking round all the destroyed targets in the hopes to see that familiar metallic hilt.
“Kriff, where is it?” You groan, knowing your Master will kill you for losing soemthing so valuable.
“General.” A voice breaks your thoughts and you see Echo stride towards you, removing his helmet and holding it by his hip.
You try to stop the feeling of blood rushing to your cheeks as his eyes gaze into your own bit it was seemingly impossible at this rate. “Hello Echo. Everything alright?”
He smirks a little before presenting you with your briefly lost weapon and you sigh in relief. “Thought you may have lost something.” He teased, handing it over and watching you attach it to your holster.
“You’re a life saver, Master would not be impressed if I lost this.” You shake your head at your own careless behaviour but nonetheless relieved that it was back in your arms. “Say, are you going to 79’s tonight?”
The question throws him a little and he’s suddenly unsure if it was a plan he already had in mind but shook his head anyway. “I’m not sure, why?”
Your hands are now kept behind your back, hiding your twiddling thumbs. “Oh I was just wondering. Thought I’d pop down to see how my boys are doing. Sometimes just mediating in my room can be a little dull.” You’re rambling a little and flirting certainly was not your forte. You just hope he got the hint that you wouldn’t mind seeing a certain someone there.
He chuckles and shifts his position only slightly, a little warm under his collar all of the sudden. “I-I’m sure I can make time to come down. It would be a pleasure to see you there General.” He beams, warmth heating his cheeks.
Before you could even process what you were saying, the words ‘it’s a date’ leaves your lips which has you scuttling away quickly but still, you knew he’d come.
Hunter
Tumblr media
Dating Hunter was a dream. Although it could only happen when the Republic fell, you somewhat found it bitter sweet that it took all that to you and Hunter to finally admit your feelings.
“What’s on your mind?”
Lazing in the cockpit, Hunter could sense something was bothering you once you walked in and took a seat. Sweat was glistening to your skin and heart beating so fast it nearly burst his eardrums.
Shoulders slumped, you tilt your head back but look in his direction. “I can’t find my sabre.”
His eyes widened a little, knowing how important that weapon was to you. You had never misplaced it and the last time he saw you use it was two rotations ago on a mission which was quite a heavy one. “Have you searched everywhere? Under the bunks? Refresher? … Under Omega’s pillow?”
You let out a short chuckle at the last suggestion, knowing it wouldn’t be the first time Omega had took a keen interest in the lightsaber. “Yeah, I checked everywhere. I just don’t understand how I could’ve lost it. I know I didn’t lose it when we did that mission.” You sigh, leaning forward now with your arms slumped over your knees. “Unless it fell off my holster but I doubt it.”
Hunter senses your worry, getting the feeling that you would think yourself useless without your gear which has never been the case. He stands and moves to kneel on the floor in front of you, hands resting on your thighs. “Use the Force mesh’la, it has helped you before to find things now try again.”
You give him a wry smile. “Hunter, last time I did that was to find you and the others.”
“And it worked didn’t it?” He pointed out, working a smile. “Come on.”
You watch him close his eyes and you subtly roll your own but if it makes him feel better… you rest your forehead to his, eyes falling closed and let the Force speak to you.
There’s a moment of sweet silence until you let out a loud gasp, eyes shooting wide open and you stand abruptly almost knocking Hunter onto his rear. “I know where it is!”
The Clone chuckles, happy that his plan worked and stands up too, watching you run to the back of the ship and returning only moments later with of course - your sabre. “And where was that?” He folds his arms, raising an amused brow.
Sheepishly, you twirl it around in your hands and give a shy grin. “I may have put it in one of the cargo boxes by mistake.”
He steps to you and leans in, kissing your forehead which soon leads down to your cheek and then your lips. “My silly cyare.”
Wrecker
Tumblr media
“Lost something little one?”
The voice of Wrecker made you turn instantly, seeing a mischievous glance on his face but little did he know that you knew exactly what he was referring to.
“Hand it over big boy.” You tease, turning fully to face him in the open field the two of you decided to go for a walk in.
A blush rises in his cheeks at the nickname, helplessly smitten by both your personality and looks. But, he simply can’t help but be a little naughty around you. And now he can since the others weren’t about to tease you both about your constant flirting. One of these days maybe one of you two will step up and admit this lingering-in-the-air feelings.
“If ya want it,” he gets into a position that you know you’re going to have run after him so you too prepare yourself, “come and get it!”
He runs, fast. But you’re a lot faster. In only a matter of seconds you’ve caught up to him, jumping onto his back and swiping your arms around his front to grab your sabre that was now in his long and outstretched hands. “Ha! Nice try!”
You grunt as you struggle to get it and although you could easily use the Force, why not have a little fun while you’re at it?
A shriek escapes you as a strong hand grasps at your leg and physically yanks you away from his back as he holds you outwards. Kriff, his strength was not a joke. But, you were determined and swung from left to right, starting with a stray, before you are able to grab his shoulder and pluck your leg free as you clambered up the front of him.
He’s taken aback, stilling as your legs wrap around his waist as he climbed him like the mountain of muscle he was. “Now hand it over.”
Never had Wrecker felt both so intimated yet happy at the same time. You were literally in his arms, something he had dreamed about forever (or the six months he has known you) and your lips so close to his face seemed very inviting.
He’s distracted, clearly a little flustered to put up a fight and since you had swiped the sabre from his grasp in a blink of an eye, he did not even budge. Had you broken him?
“Wrecker, honey?” You prompt him, tapping his scarred cheek lightly with the hilt to your weapon.
“Marry me.”
“What?!”
“Uh-.”
Tech
Tumblr media
Blaster fire shot over your head, you’re ducking and weaving through trees as an ambush of raiders try to stop you and your team from infiltrating an enemy base when you lose your lightsaber.
The second it leaves your holster you’re well aware yet your odds were slim in retrieving it. That was until Tech, you’re smart and courageous friend had turned back and ran straight to retrieve.
“Tech! Leave it!” You skid to a halt, shouting over the blaster fire towards your teammate who had ducked and weaves through everything that got in his way until your sabre is swiped up into his grasp.
“Weapon located. I’m on my way back.” He speaks over the comm and you’re wide-eyed in complete horror yet surprise that he would do something so foolish yet kind for you.
Once both of you are out of harms way, catching your breath backs once yoh mount the Marauder Tech walks to you, hand extended with your beloved sabre.
“Tech.” You said his name breathlessly, shaking your head at him. “Why would you do that? You could’ve gotten yourself killed.”
“Yes my survival rate was slim yet I am aware of how important it is for a Jedi to have a weapon.”
All you could do is blink at him, slowly taking the lightsaber from his grasp and placing it down beside you. “Sure, it means a lot but your life means a lot more to me.” You speak softly, watching the tips of his ears turn a small shade of pink at your admission.
“I am just an expendable being”
“And this is just a piece of metal.” You interject, making him realise that his first comment was silly. “Like I said, you mean more to me than this. But I thank you.” Standing, you crossed the threshold and lean towards him until your lips press against his cheek. His breath staggers and his knees almost give way at the surprising gesture.
When you pull back and gauge his reaction, you felt a little bashful yourself. Nobody had ever looked at you the way he did with you. “Don’t do something like that again, okay?” Your voice was barley a whisper and for a second, you thought Tech had leaned in to kiss you back but his eyes swiftly closed, he cleared his throat, and nodded.
“Agreed.”
Crosshair
Tumblr media
As you and Clone Force 99 walk towards Generals Windu and Kenobi, as well as your Master, your stomach was in your mouth.
You searching your mind, reeling back all the events of the mission that you just completed and tried to place where you had put your lightsaber. Or worse, lost.
You had scoured the whole ship, searching every crook and nanny and honestly, you were to proud to ask the others if they had seen it. And after receiving a few odd looks and questions, you gave up your search.
“General, I trust the mission went to plan?” Mace speaks up once he stops a few steps ahead of you.
“Yes, the separatist base has been breached and secured. I doubt we will see much of them around this area anymore.” You nod with a smile that doesn’t quite reach your eyes.
Your Master looks to you, raising a subtle brow. “Are you well? You seem distant in your thoughts?” Despite you being a Jedi Knight now, your Master was well adverse in sensing your troubles which you had tried so hard to keep at bay. But, there was no chance you were going to tell them you lost your weapon.
“Do I? Weird. No, I’m fine. Thanks for your concern.” You reply as casually as you can and allowed the others to converse amongst each other as you stand to the side and prepare to say your farewells.
You had worked with Clone Force 99 four times now and each time you thoroughly enjoyed it. They’re chaotic, different but funny in there own way. But as you look to them, you frown to see one in particular is missing. Where’s Crosshair?
As if reading your thoughts, Hunter comes over. “Crosshair said he would catch up, wanted to stay on the ship for a moment.” His words made you frown.
“Did he say why?” The Clone shakes his head in reply. You knew of his senses, but did he sense your nerves? The way your heart dropped a little in disappointment to not see your Snarky Sniper? Admittedly it took a while for him to warm up to you, both as stubborn as the other but you grew fond of his presence as he did yours. Now you feared you wouldn’t see him again for a long while.
As you’re nearing your goodbyes, you stand beside Kenobi and look to the majority of the Clones as your Master commends them for their help and how medals will be coming their way.
But in the corner of your eye, a tall, slime and grey haired figure comes into view and stands beside Wrecker as if he was always there. You stay silent, not wanting to interrupt their praises when your eyes locked. There was subtle movement by his hands and you look down towards them and your heart swells to see him waving your unignited lightsaber. Eyes wide, you look at his face to see him smirk and every so carefully mouthed, ‘lost something?’.
Mouthing him back a small thanks, you waited until your fellow Jedi made their leave before taking a step towards them and more importantly to Crosshair. “I don’t know how to thank you… where was it?”
“Doesn’t matter. You have it now.” He hands it over once his brothers walk away.
“Did you know I lost it?”
He nods, folding his arms over his body. “Knew something wasn’t right when you were turning out ship upside down and inside out. Gathered you must’ve lost something awfully important.” He says pointedly, a little smug at his act of heroism.
You hum in amusement and made sure it was securely locked onto your belt. “Well, thank you again Crosshair. You’re a fine solider and man.”
For a second he shifts, not so used to being complimented on him as a person and not a solider but nods in appreciation. “I trust we may be serving alongside another again?”
“I hope so. May the force be with you, Crosshair.”
Never had so few words meant so much to him in those moments. His heart that was usually empty felt full and pride was shooting through his veins and a blush crept up his next.
“And with you, my General.”
He wanted more than anything to fight by your side once more.

[THE BAD BATCH] — Soulmate AU
ECHO/OFC
WARNINGS: SOME ANGST (HAPPY ENDING), ECHO WITH SOME SELF-BODY ISSUES.
Echo stared at his now metallic forearm. He could almost picture it; the way his tanned skin used to show her name, the strange irreplacable ink shaping the five small letters that had changed everything back when he was a kid. His soulmate's name. His mark. His bond.
Echo had been nine when the five letters had suddenly sewed themselves onto his skin. It was just an uncomfortable itch at first; then, it burned. When nine year old Echo had dragged his right sleeve up to check his forearm, he had found a name.
<< Raine >>
Five small letters that gave him hope and cursed him all the same. His first feelings had been –after shock and confusion– pure joy and affection. Someone, somewhere in the galaxy, was destined just for him; a true match to his particular soul. Not his brothers, not just any clone; His.
Then, that joy and hope had been squashed away. Taken with greedy hands and harsh words. He still remembered the lecture the kaminoans gave him, amongs a few other lucky –or unlucky– clones. The hope and joy was replaced with fear, guilt, and sadness. Someone, somewhere, was destined to live in constant worry for him, or worse, forced to experience his loss with or without the chance to getting to know him. Because he was just a clone, engineered to fight a war for the Republic; and nothing else mattered at all. Not that name; not his bond. Not Raine.
Years passed, and little Echo kept growing into the soldier he was now with strict rules and a clear objective in mind; becoming an ARC trooper, protecting his Jedi general and the Republic, surviving fight after fight among the brothers who could. Survive. All thoughts of his soulmate were burried under a million worries and more than a dozen closed calls; under the grief he held for the death of too many vods and the anger and rippling sadness that threatened to bury him alive. Just keep fighting. Dont give up. It became his new mantra; and that he did, until the option was taken away from him too.
His memories of Skako Minor were, at best, hazy and mixed up. He saw numbers. He saw Fives, and Rex, his squad and all the manuals he had learned by page. He saw, but he didn't think. Or live. He was just something; part of the technology, of a system, not even a clone right then. He didn't realise how much he liked and needed to be just a clone until he started his long way to recovery after Anaxes and found out just how different he was from the rest of them now.
The death of his twin had been even more difficult to process than getting used to his new body and mind. He didn't recognise himself in the mirror; didn't recognise who he was without fives. But the Bad Batch showed him who he could be. He had hold onto that new oportunity while he learned how to cope with his new shape; how his complex interface worked, how to filter huge amounts of data in his head, how his legs and scomp moved. It hadn't been easy. It still wasn't. But he had learned to leave the past behind; how to focus on what he still had, and suddenly, with time, Clone Force 99 had become family in his eyes. After the fall of the Republic, he had sticked with them. One day, Echo would contact Rex and join the Rebellion, return to what he did best; until the Bad Batch found a safe haven, a place for Omega to grow without the fear of getting caught by the Empire constatly hugging her, Echo would cover their backs.
(•••)
"I'm still unable to comprehend where I could have made a mistake. I have considered every option I have been able to come up with; but something must obviously be escaping my mind. Your prothesis are failing to recuperate their full movility and speed and I can't seem to find the error in order to fix it so..."
Echo tried not to chuckle at Tech's constant mutters and rambling. They had just finished a mission for Cid in Ackerton three days ago, in which once again Echo had used his new abilities to infiltrate in an external security system to get the doors that they needed oppened. He had done that with no problem at all; but his legs had buckled right after achieving it and he would have had hit the floor if Wrecker wasn't there to catch him in time. It had appeared to be just a minor shock to his system, back then; with Echo quickly regaining his foot and finishing the mission swiftly with no other complications at all. However, the strange malfunction had repeated at least twice per day since then; and Tech, to the resident genious own greatest frustration, handn't been able to find the reason yet. That's why they were currently walking towards the supposedly best ingeneering workshop in a nearby planet, Osk; to, for once, get some external help.
"I'm sure it's nothing, Tech", Echo answered with his usually calm, soft voice, trying to put his brother at ease while he continued directing them through the route he was visualising in his head. "We'll get it fixed in no time".
Tech frowned in evident irritation. He was also worried for Echo, even if expressing in annoyment his lack of knowledge was the only way he knew how to.
"It is not nothing. If it were, I would have obviously found the malfunction and..." He started, but was quickly cut out by Echo's voice as the soldier stopped right on his track and scanned the building in front of them with interest.
"Clanks&Screws, that's our place right there" announced Echo, making Tech go silent for a tiny while he too scanned the workshop from the outside.
Echo nodded and walked towards the entrance without bothering to check if his vod was following or not.
"Can't believe we're leaving this in hands of a shop with a name like that..." Tech muttered, but entered the work place just the same.
At least the shop was kept clean and only slightly disorganized. Some chips, wires, drivers and half projects where abandoned here and there; but otherwise it didn't give off the impression of someone who just wanted to get money doing a shitty half job. Tech examined the space without hiding his curiosity; while Echo tried to locate the resident ingeneer, who was no where to be found.
"Be right there!" Shouted a voice from an adjacent room, right then, and once recovered from the surprise both clones waited patiently for the workers arrival. They could hear a feminine mumble across the opened door behind the counter. "Just make sure it doesn't crumble again, little bug".
They didn't have much time to ponder to whom she was talking to –though by the nickname, and considering where they were, it was probably some kind of techno droid– before a tall girl with chocolate brown hair tied up in a messy bun and black grease stains across her cheeks and hands walked towards them. She had caramell eyes, a small button nose and a very un-flattering work overall on. Even with her figure hidden from stranger's wandering glances, Echo couldn't help thinking how beautiful she was.
"What can I help you with, boys?" She asked, after scanning them in a fraction of a second that felt too long and yet not enough to the former ARC trooper.
Tech was quick to jump into his endless explanation and, surprisingly, the –probably in her mid twenties– woman patiently listened and nodded along. Further from feeling annoyed or irritated, she seemed to cling to each word as if she were gratefull to have someone who had done some research and knew what they were on about for once. She payed special attention at how Echo's neural system worked; her eyes turning to steal a glance from him here and there while Tech continued discussing posibilities and his thorough research. Echo awkardly –yet patiently– waited for the two ingeneering experts to come to a conclussion.
"Have you checked his neural interface, then?" She cut out, once she knew the googled man wasn't going to point out any adittional relevant information anymore, and Tech looked at her stunned.
"Oh, I can't believe I didn't evaluate the posibility of the malfunction coming from his central system! I went straight to the prothesis without taking into consideration that his neural conexion may have been seveered while tapping into the defence code web and..."
The young mechanic chuckled and turned to Echo. Those were two interesting men.
"Have you been having some sort of visual or processing weird alteration too, handsome?"
Echo blushed involuntarily and tried to remember.
"I... I have, actually. I didn't think too much about it, but I've been able to process data almost too fast. Faster than my usual rythim, at least. But that's not exactly a bad thing, right?" He asked, wearily.
She hummed and crouched down to grab a case of tools and placed it on the counter in front of her.
"Not painful, but not a good thing either" she answered distractedly, her hands roaming through the tools in search of a specific one. "It might be a sign that your prothesis aren't sending the necessarily signs to your neural system and therefore making it able to speed the conexions of other functions. Imagine your body is a circuit. If you eliminate or lower the charge on the colateral one that goes towards your legs, the other conexions will be able to work faster. That way you can sort throw data better, but loose movility, range and speed."
Echo didn't ever think that he would feel that atracted to brains; even if it were a desirable trait, he would have imagined that it would be more of Tech's thing. However, this woman knew what she was talking about; and he found the determined way she talked and moved and her easy, collected disposition refreshingly attractive. It helped she was pretty, too.
"Alright, let's have a look" she announced, once she finally found the rounded tool she was apparently looking for, and pointed at one side of the room to him "Can you sit on the stool over there and take off your shirt?"
Stating that Echo's cheeks burned brighter than a star would have been an understatement.
"W-What?" He could only managed to stutter, paralised.
The young mechanic laughed –a true, un-restrained, melodic sound– and showed him a loop-sided amused smirk.
"Not like that, handsome" she soothed him, albeit with a entertained twinkle in her caramel eyes. "I've seen a pair of similar neural systems like yours before, and you guys usually have a double entrance point to minimise the risk of overcharing and damaging a port. I assume you got one hiding there on your head implant and one on some spot on your spine, don't you?
Tech could still read the shock and hesitance on his brothers face and decided to gift him with some more seconds to collect himself.
"You are, indeed, correct. Your knowledge is impressive. I confess I had my reservations upon arrival, but I can see now that my doubts were unfair".
The young woman showed the goggled clone a small smile and waited for Echo to finally react. He did so with a million doubts and concerns running through his head. He was used to his body by now, but he wasn't used to others looking at it. He sat down on the stool regardless and slowly took his shirt off; staring down at the floor and trying not to fidget in his self-consciousness.
She seemed to understand what he was feeling and thinking about; as she quickly stepped behind his back without staring at his body more than necessary and reassuring him before actually starting to play with his head.
"I'm gonna do this as quick and swiftly as possible, okay? Just gonna plug in in both ports and run a quick scanning system first. If it is what I think it is, my program will find the severed conexion in no time and we'll get it fixed under fifteen minutes. Sounds good?"
Echo nodded in silence. He felt an electric rush zapping through his veins when the young woman connected to both of his ports; feeling slightly comforted while she talked him through what she was going to do. Her hand softly caressed one side of his neck; and Echo couldn't hold his reaction. He trembled; a feeling mixed with both panic and pleasure. She assumed it to be purely the first and her voice turned surprisingly soft and gentle.
"You alright there? It shouldn't be painfull at all. Just a few more minutes. Let me know if it does, okay?"
He nodded, closing his eyes and letting her search along his files. It felt weirdly intimate, somehow. He tried to mantain his breathing under control and not think of Skako Minor. He was safe, now; even if someone was checking him like the half-droid he was.
"Found it" her satisfied voice popped up after some minutes, making Echo open her eyes and only then realising he was crushing Tech's hand on his own one. He let it go with a small apologising glance; his googled brother completely unfased by the act. "It was just what I thought. The security interface you tried to infiltrate must have sent a shock to your system that has somehow rerouted some of the conexions between your neural implant and your legs prothesis towards other circuits. That's why you can still move them but without the same speed, strength, and movility range. I just have to carefully rerout it back to normal and you should be good to go in ten".
Both Echo and Tech nodded in understanding, and they let the mechanic perform her art. Tech studied each step; making sure nothing was put out of place and learning along the way. She diligently worked in near silence for the next few minutes; muttering to herself here and there and turning the corners of her lips up in victory when achieving each step.
She finally sighed and very carefully and slowly plugged out of the man's ports. She threw her tools back onto their case and handed Echo his shirt, standing up in front of him and showing him a small smile.
"All done. Feeling good, handsome?"
Echo re-dressed and cautiously tried to flex his artificial knees and twist around. He nodded in relief. Tech did too, satisfied.
"Yeah. I didn't even realise it before, but it did feel different than usual. Now it feels just right". He looked up at her with honest eyes. "Thank you. What do we owe you for this?"
She walked back towards the counter while she answered.
"Usual price is 100 osseks. But it was a pretty quick repair, and I like you guys, so we'll leave it at 90, how about that?
Tech stepped in and extended his hand.
"We appreciate it. Unconviniently, we only count with its equevalent in credits. Would that pose a problem?"
She shrugged and waved a hand.
"Nah. I accept pretty much any sort of payment here. Just let me call bug in so he can scan those credits for me. Not that I think you guys are trying to fool me, but scammers are getting quite creative this days".
Echo nodded in agreement.
"No offense taken" he added, and she turned to the opened door calling her droid out.
"Four-o-nine! Move your little wings here and scan this credits for me, bug!
A small red CRX-technodroid calmly flew towards them; making chirping sounds while he inmediatly followed the human's order. Tech curiously glanced at both Echo and the droid before voicing his observation.
"Curious name for a technodroid" he started, tentatively, while she waited for the red bug to finish his scan.
"Is it?" She answered, distracted, saving the credits in a safe place and getting the change for them. "I named it after someone important to me".
Tech collected the excess back and dropped it in one of his numerous belt pouches. He just had a feeling about this. Could he be right?
"May I ask who? A family member, pherhaps?"
Her face filled with melancholy and a sad smile perched on her lips for once.
"It's someone who I've never met", was her quiet answer, and Echo felt his heart beat intensifying and threatening to burst out of his chest right then. He had catched up on Tech's suspition. But there was no way that beautiful woman was her soulmate, right?
His tongue felt stuck to his mouth. Fortunately for him, Tech continued his cautious research like he always did.
"You must have realised were clones, as intelligent as you are, albeit different than the mayority of us. Am I correct in assuming that that is his CT-number?
She seemed hesitant to confirm his theory, but ended up nodding and Echo felt closer to suffering a heart attack. This was it. This could be it. This could be the moment where his whole world shifted again and...
"1409, yeah. I cut it down to four-o-nine for short" she let out a nervous chuckle, reading their postures and understanding the direction of his questions with a growing heaviness in her heart. "Don't tell me you know him? After the Republic fell I assumed I wasn't going to be able to meet him. Everyone's on the run, nowadays, and..."
She grew silent, fidgeting with the end of her sleeve, and Echo swallowed his insecurities down. He glanced at Tech, who nodded at him and gave him the rest of the strength he needed to voice his confession out loud.
"I am... I am CT-1409. I... I'm your soulmate."
A million thoughts and emotions seemed to flash in the girls eyes. She stared in shock, stunned; looking at him a few seconds later with raw hope and anxiousness etched in every fraction of her face.
"If... if this is a joke, it's no fun" she whispered, without tearing her caramel eyes of him, and Echo couldn't stop staring back even when Tech's voice intervened.
"I can assure you Echo is indeed clone trooper 1409. We have no reason to lie to you; we've already achieved what we came here for".
She tugged her sleeve up. Without looking at her right forearm, she caressed the numbers on her skin. Echo trembled at the sight. It was such a reverent gesture, filled with such hope and warmth...
Her caramel eyes searched his amber ones; the stare she gave him was so intense it seemed as if she was searching his very own soul. And he was hers. His soul.
"Tell me my name. If you're my soulmate, you must have had it etched in your skin, once, too."
She needed confirmation. And he understood. Echo knew right then that she had been waiting for him even longer than he himself had. Because while her memory had been forcebly burried inside his mind, toppled with his hard life as a soldier, he was still fresh in hers; no-one told her to shut it down, to forget about him. And Echo understood once more all the lies that the kaminoans had tried to teach them about their soulmates too. It didn't matter if they met each other or not. It didn't matter if the clones succeeded in forgetting them. Their soulmates worries and fear for them would not change. Would not stop. And neither would their love and care.
"Raine" he whispered, as if she would dissolve in thin air if her name was spoken too loud "Your name burnt my right forearm when I was nine years old. I was told to forget... But i never truly did. It was the one order I never couldn't fully follow".
Her eyes filled with tears and she tumbled towards him.
"F-Fuck. Fuck... You-You are..."
She couldn't help herself. Some part of her understood the reservations he might have to being hugged and touched; but he was his soulmate, he was fucking there, and she couldn't do any other thing that throwing herself into his arms.
Echo couldn't bring himself to plant distance between each other either. A slight panic flew through his veins with the unexpected contact; but she was there, and surprisingly, she fiercely wanted him. And Raine was all he ever wanted too, even if he wasn't allowed to feel so.
She cried on his shoulder, whispering against his armour.
"I thought you might be... With the war and the rise of the Empire, I hadn't found you yet and I thought I might never..."
Echo moved his left hand over her back in a soothing caress.
"It's alright. It's alright, Mesh'la. I'm sure it was difficult, and we've... I've been through a lot, too... But we're here now. I'm right here, okay?"
She felt strong enough to push her face back a little in order to being able to look up towards him. She was tall, sure, but he was even taller. She liked that.
"I've been calling you handsome and trying to flirt with you since you stepped inside my shop, thinking I might find myself a hot date for a change and..." she let out a teary laugh, making Echo chuckle with her, too.
"And I happen to be your soulmate" he finished for her, showing a small warm smile. "You know, that actually makes me feel a bit better. I was worried that if I ever managed to find you, you wouldn't find this..." he gestured "Attractive".
She bit her lip and some of that previously cool collected cheekiness reappeared.
"Oh, handsome, believe me" her arms slowly wrapped around his shoulders and neck, and she grinned at him "I find you hot as fuck".
They chuckled and laughed together; both unable to resist each other anymore and joining their lips in a passionate –yet gentle– kiss. She melted in his arms. Kissing his soulmate, Echo, had to be the best thing she had experienced in her life.
Later that night, when Echo returned to the Marauder with the rest of his family –they all had agreed to stay for a whole extra week in Osk to give the young mechanic time to pack her things up and join them– Raine looked down to her forearm and caressed his four digits with a soft smile.
<<1409>>
She couldn't be happier; couldn't feel prouder of having his mark on her skin. And she couldn't wait to experience all that were to come.
THE END.
