it wasn’t just a silly random number generator with a discord community, it was the community.

i, like many others, felt a sense of comfort in knowing my fellow fans were waiting for the same random numbers to appear, made up epic stories, laughed, cried, burned candles and exploded suns.

blaseball was so much. it was way bigger than a site. blaseball was a part of many people’s lives.

if i could i would talk for hours about it, and seeing the community die out slowly with everyone moving on feels… bad. i miss it.

Howdy do! I’m Raine/Ars/Arsenic Kneecaps and I have an idea!

I’m a librarian with a lot of free time at my desk so I do a lot coloring books. I’m also a big fan of RadioTV Solutions and so I’ve been pondering the idea of combining RTVS and coloring books.

How would this be done?

1) I want to trace screen caps from live action RTVS bits (Fax Hell/mass, Seance of Joshua, Spamton Value Network, Congress, Homer, GameClam,etc.) and slap ‘em all into a printable PDF “book” for fans to color however they see fit. Since some members of RTVS prefer to appear in virtual form-for example in the Congress stream where there are talk sprites (that I think were made by Mike? I don’t quite remember, please correct me if not.) for members such as Gir, Holly, Trog and Mira. Credit to the artists of these sprites would of course be provided.

2) I’ve also been thinking about making the coloring book a Zine of some sort. Where we’d all get together in a big Discord server, create and compile lineart fanart of RTVS and interstitially mix it in with the traced screen caps. Ensuring that no art would go without credit as a coloring piece can have the artists info paired with it.

I’ve never organized a zine before. And I’ve never made a coloring book- so I just wanted to gage interest and see what y’all think! Feel free to hit me with any ideas. I’d love to hear ‘em.

"secret" society

Thinking about starting a secret society that is actually not a secret at all and is open to everyone, but we call it a secret society and have a cool clubhouse and secret handshakes and gestures for when we're in public and speak in code that's just silly nonsense.

It would be a community clothes closet, fridge and pantry, we'd have block parties where the only way you can gain admittance is to agree that this is totally a secret society and promise to tell at least one person that it's a secret society and tell them all about what we do and invite them to join.

We'd put ads out inviting people to come to our parties and join our secret society where it's just potlucks and trading or giving away things that members want to donate like clothes, books, furniture, baby items, old tools, extra tiles and lumber from that reno you overestimated materials for, etc.

There would be no leaders, just people who are good at organizing who want to help, and we would rotate and take shifts so nobody would be doing the same thing month to month.

There would be no dues or fees or treasury, just bring food and items to donate, and volunteer for setting up and cleaning up when you can. We'd have a community garden that was managed by volunteer members.

We'd have a time dedicated at each "meeting" (party) to discuss individual's needs like so-and-so needs help with a plumbing problem at their house, or so-and-so is offering free labor on car repairs, or this family in the community is looking for a pediatrician, or this elderly member needs help with yard work.

There would be no religious, political, or ideological prerequisites, just a community of people being kind to people.

If there were troublemakers, malcontents, or disrespectful people we would empathetically try to understand what their needs are that aren't being met and try to meet those needs, show them that there is a better way of resolving conflicts, and keep being kind, honest and respectful to them as an example of what community can be. We wouldn't just kick them out because we're stronger unified.

I don't believe this is an impossible idealistic fantasy. I've seen groups like this, I've been part of groups akin to this, and I've heard good accounts of communities getting through very difficult times by doing something similar.

The guiding principles would be: 1. Treat everyone the way you want to be treated. 2. Do what you can for our environment. 3. 1 & 2 are good enough.

Now we just need a cool name.

TWF VA Appreciation Project

yes im posting about it again hi For those who don't know, it's a community project to send nice messages to or artwork for the VAs involved in TWF. It's meant specifically to thank them, not just their characters, so keep that in mind! Submissions will be put in a compilation to be posted March 16th. We still have a few days to send in submissions!! Anyone is welcome to! (If you're a little skittish, don't be - sending in a nice message is easy enough with the form and you don't HAVE to state your name if you don't want to.)

Alright, the winner of the last poll said we were doing the first/base square building with stripped cinnamon logs! After a quick make here's are result!

This wood doesn't have a door or planks or stairs or anything like that, so this is the current state. Now the next poll is a lot more open ended as to what's next.
