The Rook x Observant Reader got even longer. I’m not even talking the current word count which is 39k. I’m talking I have more idea to fit in the end so the entire theme of the fanfic is more wholistic. Yes, there are core themes in this like real novels or short stories. There’s even foreshadowing. I intentionally use story structure to enhance the reader’s experience. I make sure that there’s no scenes that are not there for a reason. If I could take it out of the story and it would still make sense, I’ve banished it to the scrap pile.
I have no idea how this happened. I’m as surprised as everyone else. I’ve been in shock for the past 3 hrs.
Some of these things I didn’t even plan until I looked a little closer and analyzed it and went “oh my god! The parallels!” You’ll get it once you read it.
I’m still in shock but I have to share because wtf. I didn’t plan any of this. It just happened and it’s smart

I'm sick, so I'm comfort-watching Voyager. I GOT sick because I crammed myself on four different flying sausage tubes over a period of three days so I could go to my son's graduation. I spent my flying sausage tube time reading Murderbot.
Now that you have context, let me just say: watching Voyager through a Murderbot lense is... something.
Tuvok. Janeway. Look me in the eye.
When one of your crew... one of your engineers, ffs... defects to a hostile nation...
YOU ROLL OVER YOUR FUCKING SECURITY CODES.
The Kazon come in firing and they're on the bridge like, "Wow, their weapons are going right through our shields, it's like they have our codes" YOU HAD AN ENGINEER DEFECT TO THE KAZON LAST WEEK ARE YOU TELLING ME YOU DIDN'T DO A SECURITY REVIEW FOR SYSTEM VULNERABILITIES OMGGGGGGGGGGGGG
Vulcans aren't actually any better at doing their own security than humans. Tuvok, SecUnit would be so mad at you.

i'm sure i am not the only one who is very concerned about the ~4 hours between when the midjourney change was made, and I knew to go opt out of it, so; glaze does not need to be on all your works to be effective. in the same way that one artist glazing all their works will ruin a broad, multi-artist dataset, glazing your works moving forward will ruin any dataset trained on you. if out of 100 comics I've posted, 10 are glazed, a dataset trained on all of my comics will not be able to make anything similar to my style. anyways. go download glaze.

I think it's a mistake to assume that computer generation (so-called AI) is the only manifestation of the exploitation that workers (especially in artistic fields that are already considered lesser) experience. The problems that they experience are, I think, exasperated by computer generation, but it isn't like there were no problems with compensation, theft, or other forms of exploitation.
The problem is the exploitation, and I think sometimes, people lose sight of that in these conversations.

You can call me weak for this but my main issue with emulation is that my fav way to play a video game is laying on my couch looking at the TV with a controller in hand. So I understand the desire for ports. I do not want to experience the Radiant FE games on my phone you feel me. But it IS always an option and it’s a much MUCH cheaper one

Had to share this life hack my mom taught me.
When you're moving (or just wanting to move your furniture), measure your rooms and furniture. Then get yourself some grid paper, draw your rooms to scale, and then cut out pieces for your furniture. It's much easier to move around bits of paper over and over than full size couches and beds to figure out where they'll fit.
Tumblr media
Once you're happy with the layout, tape down the pieces. On moving day, you'll know exactly where everything will go, and that it will fit the first time. It's low tech, but it works.
PS: We made little pop-up book foldables for the recliners, so we'd know how much room they'd need to recline, which made us feel pretty smart.

I COULD FIX HIM THO TRUST 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️🙏🙏
Hear me out though: why fix him when you could just happily live out your days in his dungeon?
You’d be his prisoner but he’d make you enjoy it — forget it, even 🫦
