You get...a scene I would like to write but haven't yet! This one takes place in Stormblood, after our first clash with Zenos. In the Haurch Lives AU, instead of staying and stewing on her defeat in Rhalgr's Reach, she flees the area once she's bandaged up, feeling terribly guilty for not being able to protect everyone better and having suffered her first really serious combat loss. She returns 'home', which at that time is the Fortemps Manor. She intends to hide away in the guest room that has become hers, but she overexerted herself on the journey, reopening wounds that had only barely stopped bleeding. Haurch finds her and takes over caring and comforting her, refusing to let anyone pressure her to return to the fight before she's recovered. It's a scene I find really important because, in canon, she only gives herself enough time to be able to run without causing herself to bleed again before continuing. Having someone insist she is worth taking care of and treating her as a person and not a weapon as so many other NPCs tend to has a real softening effect on her character.

▣ Did you know that the scene in Lady and the Tramp when Lady pops out of the hatbox on Christmas is inspired by a true story?

While Walt and Lilly Disney celebrated Christmas Eve with family at their home, Walt snuck the puppy into a hatbox, topped it with a large bow, and slipped it under the tree. Lilly was given the box and was, at first, rather disappointed: she loved to buy her own hats. Suddenly, the box moved, and Lilly screamed as a little puppy poked its head out! From that moment on, Lilly was smitten with the dog they named Sunnee, never letting him leave her sight.

I love Zutara as much as the next girlie, but I think people romanticizing Zuko catching Azula's lightning in the Final Agni Kai are doing Zuko's character a massive disservice. He would have done that for anyone. Not just anyone in the Gaang, anyone.

He did it for the division he ended up getting burned over. He did it for his subordinate that was going to fall to his death after the ship was struck by lightning. He did it for Lee, when he was kidnapped by Gao. He did it for Iroh, when he confronted his dad and tried to break him out of prison. He did it for the whole Gaang at the Western Air Temple. He did it for Sokka, Suki, and Hakoda at the Boiling Rock.

His whole character revolves around saving everyone else first. Hell, he tried to save Zhao of all people! There's no way that would have gone well for Zuko if Zhao had actually taken his hand. He always does what he thinks is right first before considering his own safety.

Zuko always saves other people. Even if, especially if, he can't save himself.

it's been exactly a year since the last chapter of Operation Walburga's Arbitrary No Kissing Ever Rule and I still miss it. This scene is probably one of my favourite things I've ever written and I've wanted to draw it for forever, so now seemed like an appropriate time
