It’s really goofy how I’m saying this but honestly I’m still kinda dealing with insecurity about selfshipping, I’m like waiting for someone to be rude to me and I am so scared :((( I don’t wanna be annoying or weird sounding!!! I just really like the dudes I do!!!

I agree with the Hopper s3 anon. He was absolutely toxic and what they did to his character was out of pocket.

One thing it was shown that he was on meds in s1, which likely contributed to having his anger issues under control, and he might have gone off the meds between s2 and s3.

But still Hopper isn't the best suited father figure for the Byers or El. Their fight in s2 was so hard to watch, I get him frustrated, but El is a traumatised girl who missed her friends. She only knows violence since she was born essentially, and Hopper can't handle a child like this.

He couldn't even talk normally to Mike in s3, which, yeah, Mike was an ass but he's still a child.

Does the fandom really think Hopper would be supportive of Will coming out? Nope, he was already homophobic to him in s1. He doesn't know how to talk to kids or show empathy for their struggles.

Bob was the only person I could have seen been right for the Byers. He cared about Joyce and the kids. Even though Jonathan didn't like him, Bob was never mean to him. He gave him space. Bob was patient and kind. Hopper is the opposite. He's a lot like Lonnie in terms of having a bad temper. He will trigger Joyce and the boys. Like I love him as an action hero, but he is terrible for the Byers family. And now, with more added trauma, he won't process that well idk. He would need therapy, but it's the 80s, and men show no feelings. Men don't cry kinda bullshit.

I love Jopper in theory (childhood friends to lovers), but they made Hopper into Lonnie 2.0, so I can't ship him with Joyce. She deserves someone like Bob, a gentle soul who keeps her calm and doesn't yell at her for minor things.

Confession #119

Hm. So like I partially get where you're coming from but allow me to touch on a few things, if I may. First, let me just say I also loved Bob. He was a sweet, gentle soul who truly did care for Joyce and the boys. (I wish I could describe my dad's reaction to Bob's death. My dad was mortified. He loved Bob.)

As for Hopper...I don't remember anywhere in season 1 where Hopper was homophobic to Will. I haven't watched season 1 in a bit so I could be misremembering, but I can't even name a scene in my head where he was homophobic.

But a genuine question for you is do you not believe he can change? At all? What would be the point of Hopper going through all 5 seasons and remaining exactly the same?

Hopper is re-learning how to be a parent, this is something I think we all have to remember. His only child died at just like five or six years old. As a parent, he was probably feeling so unbelievably helpless because he couldn't protect or save his little girl. This helplessness transformed into the overprotectiveness we saw in season 2. While he may have been overbearing, it wasn't out of malice. He was trying to do everything he could to keep El safe from the people that wanted to hurt her. And sure, he absolutely could have gone about it a different way, I won't argue against that at all because there were times he could have exercised grace and patience and figured out a solution where they were both happy.

As for season 3, I also wasn't the biggest fan of how Hopper acted toward Mike, but also he's watching his daughter grow up and branch out with friends and her boyfriend and there comes that protectiveness again that a lot of parents have toward their kiddos. Again, obviously I don't approve of the way Mike was treated. I think Hopper could have eased up on him while also implementing boundaries as a parent.

And remember...Hopper only got to spend 5 years with his daughter Sarah. El is like a preteen/teen in seasons 2-3. This is a whole different experience for Hopper. He's never parented a teenager before, much less a teen daughter who is superhuman as a single father. Parenthood is trial and error.

And then we obviously have to factor trauma into the conversation as an explanation for a lot of his behavior, but of course that's never an excuse for behavior. But Hopper loves El, and Hopper loves Joyce (and though I feel like we don't really see Hopper and the Byers brothers in scenes together, I'm sure he loves them too) then I think that's some motivation to work on his own healing so he doesn't project onto other people. My point in saying all this is that characters grow and change. And I think Hopper has honestly showed a lot of feelings. Just think of the conversations he had with Enzo in Russia. He showed genuine, raw emotion talking about Sarah and El and all the shit he's been through. That's process. That's development.

At the end of the day, you feel the way you feel about it all and that's perfectly fine. Just wanted to open up the discussion a bit :)

not gonna lie if i hear another person say that wukong and macaque are cannonically brothers im gonna lose it. like shadowpeach isnt a canon ship duh but they arent canon brothers EVEN IN JOURNEY TO THE WEST! wukong was born from a rock which turned into a stone egg which turned into wukong (from my knowledge) and macaque was born from wukongs shadow!!!!! the point of that chapter was following the evil clone/evil version of a character trope . its totally fine if you see them as brothers with hcs and stuff but its rlly annoying when people assume its canon because in the book THEY ARENT EVEN BROTHERS. macaque literally dies so quickly in the book anyways. idk it depends on the interpretation of the characters but neither the ship or the idea of them being brothers are canon !!!

The old wheel was one of several supposedly used by "Perry Mason" writer Erle Stanley Gardner, and while the photo on the other post is an exercise in squinting, this website has the transcribed information from at least four wheels.

Here they are, though some - "servant", "heroine's maid" - are showing their age, so tweak and update as required.

I wouldn't suggest relying heavily on these - but at the same time, Gardner produced 119 or 82, the number varies, Perry Mason novels and according to Wikipedia at the time of his death was the best-selling American author of the 20th century.

So he may have been onto something after all... ;->

what a great day for your bestfriend, haerin, not come to class. who will you work with now? ugh, how you hate to work with other people.

"hey, y/n?" a soft voice that you knew perfectly, said behind you.

"oh, hi anton!" you replied with the biggest smile ever, turning around on your chair to face him.

after spending a really long time deciding what you were going to wear to go to anton's house, you decided that a long sleeve gray shirt and a pair of jeans would be completely fine.

when you arrived to his home, he greet you with a soft smile and comfy clothes. when you thought he couldn't look prettier, oh you were completely wrong. anton took you to his room, opening the door and letting you sit in the corner of his bed. the room was actually very comfortable, it had a very soft bed, and a desk that was full of music sheets, a computer and other type of stuff. his cello was on the corner of his room, you had never seen anton playing before, of course that you imagined that he was as good as he was on everything else.

"i was thinking that maybe we could make a short song, i could play the cello and my brother has a violin that maybe he can borrow you" he said sitting next to you.

"oh, i don't know how to play the violin, anton. i actually can't play any instruments" you confessed.

"don't worry, i'm going to teach you and you'll be ready by friday" anton replied to you with a smile.

anton left the room, probably to look after the violin of his brother, you thought. you got up from the bed, going to his desk and looking at the papers that were all spread around. some of them, calling your attention.

"Love 119" was the title, you took the paper in your hands, reading carefully at the beautiful lyrics that you supposed that he was composing.

the rest of the afternoon you spend it learning what anton was teaching you. his presence behind you, his hands on top of yours to teach you how to properly use the bow were actually making you fell very nervous. his breath touching your neck when he talked, and the way his soft voice was entering your ears, how could you not fall more in love?

you and him spend the rest of the afternoon like that, being so close to each other that you could feel like your heart was coming out from your chest. you were almost ready with the song, it wasn’t actually very hard to play the violin, but this wasn’t what you care the most about right now. could your heart resist this feeling of not telling anton that you liked him? could you really keep hiding your feelings for him?

you were scared to tell him, what if he doesn’t feel the same about you? what if he just sees you as a friend and just wanted to be nice with you? what if he thinks that you are ugly? what if…? what if…? what if…? what if…?

“y/n are you paying attention to what i’m sayin?” he asked behind you, you were so lost on your mind.

you turned to look at him, putting the violin down and looking at his beautiful, big brown eyes. he is even prettier this close, you thought. his face was so close to yours that if you move forwards a little bit, his lips would be all over yours. you saw his face, his eyes looking at you like if he was scanning you. his eyes going from yours, then your lips, and then your eyes again. you got a little closer, watching as anton’s cheeks were starting to become red. he didn’t even move a muscle, he was just taking a moment to look at your face.

“anton, i…” you hold your breath, are you going to confess right now? “i should probably go home, is getting late and my mom is waiting for me…” stupid y/n.

“ah y-yeah, yeah. you’re right, yeah” anton answered getting a step back, his eyes looking everywhere but you.

“thanks for teaching me how to play the violin, see you tomorrow at school”

the presentation went really good, anton and you performed the song and it was amazing. you even got the higher score of the class 10/10.

the past two days all you could think about was what happened at anton’s house. the last days that you had been even more closer to him due the proyect, made you realize that your feelings for the sweet boy were actually true. you and haerin already had a conversation about all this situation, she told you that it was better to express your feelings than to hide them. after all, you didn’t know what could happen.

you left the music classroom and went back to the normal, the door was closed and there was no one inside. your thoughts were eating you from the inside, all you can think about is anton, anton, anton…

anton and his sweet smile, anton and his beautiful black hair, anton and his gorgeous brown eyes, anton and how soft and kissable his lips looked back the other day.

you unzipped your backpack, taking out your water bottle thinking that could drown your thoughts alway. but instead of that, a small pieces of paper that were arranged like flash-cards and a yellow piece of paper fell to the floor. you took them in your hands, opening carefully the yellow paper first and reading what was in the inside.

you took that other papers, the flash-cars, on your hands. once again, reading carefully what was in the first piece of paper.

“why it looks like you’re going to cry?” he laughed a little bit.

“because i am!” you said whipping your tears away. “no one has ever done this before to me”

“i’m actually very glad that i’m the first one” he smiled.

“why didn’t you tell me before?”

“because i’m too shy and i could barely talk to you before, also i was super scared that you didn’t like me back” he confessed.

“but of course i like you back, anton. do you now how hard was trying not to kiss you back when we were on your house?” you told him.

“tell that to me, i couldn’t sleep knowing i wasted such an opportunity” you giggled.

his hands went to cup your cheeks, his lips coming closer to your until finally, it happened. anton’s lips were soft against yours, just as you imagine, his lips moving perfectly on yours, the kiss that you both have been waiting for so long was finally happening.

requested ' i did a little twist on it, but i hope it still meets your expectations!

it was around 3am, and it wasn't exactly the time to eat, but damn you were hungry.

so you left your house and walked to nearest convenience store, yep the one on the corner.

when you walked in it was crowded with a bunch of people, you didn't really know why, nor did you care.

you noticed a group of boys with cameras and laughed to yourself, "of course idols would come here."

one of the boys keeping an eye on you.

when you walked out the store without thinking anything of them, it shocked him and he was curious.

first he was curious how you got into the store because his management was outside with a bunch of bodyguards, but also because to him, you were stunning.

but with all the cameras flashing on them, he couldn't go out of his way to ask for your number.

not like he would anyways.

to be honest, you haven't left his mind.

he kept thinking about you, the way you paid them no mind just to get snacks, that's the kind of partner he wanted, but knowing he was an idol this would've been a dead end for him.

but, he couldn't just let you go.

"hyung, i swearrrr she's my soulmate." mark insists as he talks to johnny who is sat right in front of him.

"then go get her." johnny tells him, scrolling through his phone.

"dude, how am i going to find her again?" mark asks, defeated.

johnny laughs, "just go to the same store every day, then maybe you'll run into her."

"dude." mark says, "you're so fucking right."

he gets up from his bed, he grabs his jacket and slips on his shoes, "i'll be back."

mark takes a taxi to the convenience store and sits down inside by the window, it was pretty late at night, and he was hoping he'd see you.

he came here everyday for the past two weeks, and honestly it was getting tiring.

"i'm never going to see her again." he complains on the phone to johnny.

johnny laughs, "at least you tried."

the door to the store swings open and mark gazes over towards the person who walks in, it was raining outside and the second the person takes off their hood he smiled. finally.

you wipe the wetness from your face and look around, you say hi to the cashier and walk towards the back just to be stopped by the boy.

"uhm, so, uuhm." mark stutters.

"yes?" you ask slightly annoyed, because you just wanted a snack.

"i'm mark." he says putting his hand out.

you look as his hand and back at him, "okay?"

mark laughs awkwardly, "uhh, do you think i could get your number?"

you laugh, "what?"

"i, i just think you're like really attractive, and i'd like to get your number." mark confesses, a little shy.

"sure, give me your phone." you type the phone number into his phone and walk away with your snack.

as mark watches you leave, he feels a sense of relief. that was until he checked what you saved your contact as, 119.

mark laughs, but feels a sense of defeat.

you walk back into the store after watching his reaction through the outside window, "i'm just joking, i'm y/n."

mark laughs, "nice to meet you y/n."
