listen I know it’s kind of corny and inaccurate to act like every single person in the dc universe knows each other and is besties but it IS endlessly funny to me to follow the web of connections and see how many degrees removed from each other everyone is.

like look at the arrowfam okay. ollie and dinah are together, ollie is homoerotic best friends with hal, dinah is homoerotic best friends with babs. roy is dating dick, has a kid with jade, and is basically an adoptive father to both grant emerson and rose wilson. connor is dating kyle and is constantly followed around by eddie fyers. mia is friends with a lot of the second gen teen titans kids, had an on-again-off-again thing going on with steph for a while, and is currently dating sienna. emiko is besties with courtney and some of the other recent teen titans. sin has a small army of protective aunts from the birds of prey. the real question is how far does it go before ollie puts a cap on the number of people who are invited to family brunch on sundays

Okay, so I saw a tweet earlier about the donor arc, the look on Buck's face when he first holds that child and how he has to steel himself to hand over that baby to Kameron.

And I'm on my bullshit today, because it's such a cruel writing choice for Buck as a character. Because this man is so fearful of people leaving him, he cannot handle rejection, and a baby can't do either of those things... so Buck has to do it for them. Be the one to leave this time. What a knife to the gut! And sure, if Buck really wanted to be a donor, he could be a donor. But to not only make him a donor to a former friend/roommate (and let's be honest, Connor had to have been a crush, he followed that boy from Peru to LA), someone he personally knows is raising a child that is biologically his, to then having the woman carrying this child who will be the mother of this child give birth at his apartment, on his couch, and he is the one to deliver the baby and the first one to hold them. And you expect me to believe that Buck just moved on from that? That he didn't feel every single second of that deep in his soul?

That man is still thinking about that baby.

He wants a family. And he's been subconsciously building one with Eddie, he's co-parenting Chris. But that is never explicitly stated or talked about. He doesn't have a relationship with the Buckley parents. He only has Maddie. Bobby has been mentioned as a father figure in a few instances, but they have not recognized that to each other. And you want me to believe that Buck would move on from holding his own baby in his arms?

No, I don't buy it.

Buck could never be a "donor, not dad" with that much personal connection. Kameron was living in his loft at the end of her pregnancy! The lines are so blurred, they don't even exist anymore! The only way he could have successfully had a donor arc was if it was anonymous.

So, give me the fic. The fic where Buck grieves that loss of family. Where he still grieves it after s7, because Chris is gone, and it feels kind of similar. There's barely any contact, if any at all, and someone else is raising your kid.

Because Buck thinks about that baby.

He always will.

it definitely felt like winick was setting up for a whole big plot (like, why tf were desaad and granny goodness on themyscira posing as amazons and trying to target ollie specifically - or rather targeting dinah through ollie??? what for?? what was supposed to come of robert getting aged up nearly a decade??? or of connor gaining a healing factor via plas?? surely there was an intent behind all this) but when he left the book, kreisburg just complely did not care about any of that and simply shipped mia to london and connor ... SOMEWHERE. on some ~soul-searching journey~ and therefore conveniently out of the narrative.

honestly, i also don't know that i really care for the ga2001 soft retcon that ollie did know about connor being his son. it felt like an excuse to sweep under the rug their much more complicated dynamic from ga1988, with ollie saying he wanted kids but then being betrayed and upset when he found out he actually had one. and connor's whole plot in those last 35ish issues being driven by feeling like he was always going to be in ollie's shadow, chasing hints of a father he never knew... it just got completely brushed aside and as much as i enjoyed a lot about ga2001, i think the no-nuance super positive no issues whatsoever ollie and connor relationship was disappointing. i would love to actually have seen them talk about it.

and like, blackest night brought it up... a little bit. but given that it was after the amnesia plot it just... uuuhghghh. that whole bit of "we already talked about it. you forgave me." was nothingggg :( bc that entire talk supposedly just happened offscreen? in full? and i know krul was limited by the fact that he couldnt change what was already written + it would make sense for them to have talked about it if they did have a good relationship now, but at the same time...

quiver could have set it up for them to actually get into the meat of things. ollie's soul returning from the beyond bc connor, his son, who he never actually accepted as his son, was about to die... and of course connor is good and kind and loved him anyway, and felt guilty for ever hiding it from him, but idk like all of that complexity was just like. completely swept aside for a feel-good family moment, i guess. and i just think it's some wasted potential. alas!

hmm.... gotta admit i don't think i'm a fan of the connor amnesia plot in green arrow/black canary so far. i did like the design they gave sandra hawke in the flashbacks at least but hmmm...

The ring of the doorbell startled Buck; he wasn't used to the sound yet. After moving out of Eddie's house and spending two weeks on Ravi's couch, he just moved into his new apartment a couple of days ago. His living room was mostly moving boxes, the kitchen, the only thing already unpacked and ready.

The doorbell rang again; he didn't expect anyone tonight. Or at all. Maddie and Chim had enough on their hands with Baby Bobby, and if he is being honest, nobody except Ravi even knew where his new apartment was. Nobody bothered to ask.

He stumbled over the boxes, and the third ring was just about to bell through his place as he opened the door to find Kameron, Connor and little Leo there.

Well that's a surprise.

"Uhm…Hi? What are you doing here guys?” He was so confused.

“Hi, Buck.” Kameron said with a shy smile. “We brought cookies, can we come in?” Connor shook a tupperware full of, what looks like, chocolate cookies behind her and grinned. “We didn't know if you were still on ketosis, so they are sugar free.”

“Yeah, sure I am…I just moved, sorry for the mess.” he huffed and smiled, stepping aside to let them in. What are they doing here?

They settled around his little round kitchen table. Little Leo was resting in a baby wrap on Kam’s front. He was sleeping, and you could only hear his adorable little breaths and snores. Buck filled a glass of water for everyone, set the cookies out on a plate and put it on the table before he also sat down.

“So how did you guys know where to find me? And why didn't you just call?” Buck asked, because as happy as he was to see his friends, he was still a little confused on the surprise visit.

Kameron answered first, “we saw on the news what happened to your firehouse, and we…we wanted to reach out, so we stopped by the loft.”

“Yeah, uhm, I moved out.”

“Figured that much.” Connor chimed in. “We then tried to call you, but” 

“I changed my number a couple weeks ago.” Buck realized.

“Also figured that out, dude.” Connor patted him on the shoulder.

Kameron smiled. “I then called Tommy.”

“How did you…?”

“Remember when you introduced us last year?”

Buck did remember; they met for coffee shortly after he and Tommy got together. It was one of those carefree, sunny days. Connor telling stories about Buck 1.0 when they still lived together and Tommy just laughing about the thought of Buck with blond highlights in his hair, trying to grow it out before the fire academy started. Baby Leo was snoozing in Kamerons lap, and Buck got to tell how he helped bring him into this world.

“Yeah, uhm, I do, but I didn't realize you two…” 

“He gave me his number because I told him my niece is obsessed with flying, so he offered to give her a harbor tour.” She reached for his hand. “I didn't know you two broke up. "I am sorry.”

 It still hurt, even after months but nobody needed to know that so he just answered with “Yeah, that…thanks.”

Connor continued with their story, “ well, he explained the situation. That you sublet your friend's house but also that he didn't know if you were still there. Since that friend just came back.” 

“Yes, Eddie…he moved back a couple weeks ago, so I gave him his space back.” The part that they haven't really spoken since Buck piled everything into a Uhaul to crash at Ravis place, he didn't tell.

Kameron sighed, “Who does that Buck?”

And here we go.

He was just about to explain his situation, that he needed a new place anyway that that was the perfect opportunity and all, when Kam added:

“I mean, moving across the country twice in that short timeframe? Doesn't he have a kid? And just kicking you out like that, what was this idiot thinking?”

Oh

“Anyway, we then thought we just go by your firehouse, somebody will surely know how we can find you.”

“Hmm, A shift was there today, I had a day off to unpack.”

“Yes they were, I remembered some of them but,” she frowned, “nobody knew?”

Not surprising

“So how did you find me?”

“Ravi came back from getting takeout just as we walked out, he told us where to find you.”

Buck was about to answer something when a little soft cry came out of the baby wrap.

He watched Connor pulling Leo out of his wrap, an adorable face marked with sleep, and little sounds escaping the small lips. Just the cutest thing.

“He doesn't look like me hmm?”

“Yeah, it makes it easier sometimes.”

It was a stupid question, it just escaped his mouth like always, he instantly regretted it. And in an attempt to save the situation he answered: “Oh, yeah I get that, less explaining right?”

“Yeah, but you know, everytime I look at that little birthmark on his left foot, I smile.” She looked at Buck, made sure he was listening. “And everytime Leo passes out in a weird position, Connor swears he looks exactly like you. Back when you sometimes after a shift didn't make it to bed and slept on the couch.”

Buck had to smile at that, but he knew what this was. “That's nice of you to say, Kam, but you really don't have to. I understand what role I play in this.” 

Kam just shook her head, muttering something like “unbelievable” before she reached for his hand again and said: “I am not telling you out of pity Buck, I am telling you because everytime I look at that birthmark, I get reminded of the man that gave me the greatest gift in this world, who helped me and Connor build this little life. And everytime he looks like you passed out after a shift, I hope he grows up to be as selfless, and bighearted as you. Sometimes I wish he would look a little bit more like you. So I get reminded more often that good people exist.” She looked at him, smiled, and added “We love you, Buck, not just because you gave us Leo, but because you are you. And I am so sorry we were such bad friends lately.”

Maybe it was her words, maybe her voice, maybe the fact that the three of them spent the whole day looking for him, it didn't matter. It got to him, something deep deep in his gut that started to twist. The grief, he tried to push as far away as possible, came out in full force. A silent tear down his cheek at first. He could feel the wetness collecting in his eyes, the tears burning as they made their way down. And finally, an ugly sobbing sound escaped his lips. He couldn't hold it back anymore.

“Come here, sweetheart,” Kam said. She opened her arms and tried to hold as much as possible of Buck's big frame. She hugged him, let him cry it all out.

Eddie’s breath catches. “Buck, don’t.” “I’m in love with y—” “I killed Shannon,” Eddie gasps, pushing so Buck’s feet hit the ground too hard. “I-I was so upset, after she—after everything, and then… I didn’t mean to, but—” His voice, his breath, everything about him is shaking, hand against Buck’s chest, trembling like he’s waiting on a blow. “I said it was self-contained…” Eddie’s eyes are wet and wide and miserable. “I’ve been telling myself it was, so I could… but it’s not.” Buck closes his eyes. “Eddie, you can’t—” “And then, you,” Eddie chokes. “When you got struck by lightning, I remember looking at you on that rig, because we—you were with Connor and Kameron, all the time, and I missed you… and-and, then…” He gasps on the words, and they crack and break across his throat – his tongue. “That’s what happens. I hurt people when I…” It shatters and tapers into shallow breathing.

Who do you think Rose's best friends in her age group are? Or should be?

well its a complicated question because i am in a constant battle with dc as to what her age group actually is. but everything i say is canon forever

first of all obviously i have to say bart allen. thats her bestie that is one of the only people she gives a shit about thats her buddy!!! ive said before that the real tragedy of bart & rose is that they just keep barely missing each other, because they meet when rose is too busy mourning her mom to make friends, then the next time they see each other is right before slade starts drugging her, then when she finally joins the team its right before bart gets aged up then dies (or whatever happened to him in oyl idk). then when they finally are on the same team at the same time the universe resets 2 weeks later :( but theyre still friends !! to me!!!! i dont care if its been 15 years theyre still besties ok

the next obvious one is eddie bloomberg <333 he is pretty much the only person on the teen titans that she consistently likes and he likes her :( she fights with literally everyone but eddie is always there for her AND always defends her when people come for her :(((( AND every time hes in danger she drops everything to find him and ouggghhgghh..... but she wasnt there when he died and we never actually get to see her reaction to his death and that kills me every day forever

anyways. sigh. the next one is jason. as much as i think he should stay away from her unfortunately they are besties and i love their dynamic 😔 i am never abandoning my "theyre just friends but she thinks its funny to pretend theyre fucking" headcanon which makes all their interactions so iconic to me. ive talked extensively about my thoughts on jayrose here so i wont go into it again but. as much as i fear for rose's characterization i DO love it when they interact </3 i want them to keep showing up together if their relationship stays ambiguous

NEXT. this one is a little bit less canon but still canon to me. connor hawke. in the secret version of robin 2021 in my head, connor & rose become besties on the island because theyre the "big kids" who are around the same age while damian & the others are like 14 so these two end up bonding. i also think rose would think it was awesome that connor was able to kill her so easily (bc the only other person who could was respawn and he only did it because he got a cheap shot while her back was turned) and then she'd be a little disappointed once she found out that connor actually doesnt kill anyone outside of the tournament. but shed still like him a lot i think bc she does tend to get along with people who dont like to kill. half the hero community looks at rose and goes "i could fix her" while she is actively making herself worse

also obviously i have to say cassie. its hard to consider them "friends" since theyre constantly fighting but i blame sean mckeever for that. theyre FRIENDS they actually do get along and so much of their arguments are really just flirting bickering :( their love language is being mean to each other but they actually do like each other ok!!!!! you have to believe me because i love them

and toni monetti!!! shoutout to the only female character rose has ever had only positive interactions with for more than 1 panel

and! i have a lot less evidence for these next few but its real to me

first of all mia dearden. they've had one interaction ever but that was enough to convince me they should be friends. this is so so important to me theyre besties and i know it

also stephanie brown. they've only been in the same room on panel once but i just know theyre secretly besties. and rose has called her cute so its yuri too

and finally. the one that i have the least evidence for is lorena marquez. you guys just have to believe me that they would be best friends. just knowing the two characters i just know they would get along so well if they were only given the chance... they could be haters together :(

anyways in conclusion rose needs more girl friends. most of the people she Actually gets along with are men and im sick and tired of it. let her make friends with girls. or better yet..... let her make out with girls

On one of those many islands sat a hotel run by one Evan Buckley, father of two and almost always on the edge of being broke because being kicked out at 16 because being pregnant isn’t something your stuck up parents would be too happy about, especially when you have three possible fathers in three different states.

His twins, eighteen year old Sophie and Max, are on a mission to find out who their dad is before Sophie's wedding but it turns out it's true what people mean when they say they are carbon copies of their dad as Eddie, Connor and Tommy do not look a thing like them.

Can this be solved before the wedding?

the ‘sunshine personified’ / ‘he makes everyone around him happy’ thing is sooo interesting because i don’t think we’ve really seen that from buck, have we? and by that i specifically mean in the fanon context of buck being the social PTA dad at all of chris’s school functions while eddie broods in the corner and only wants to talk to buck. if anything, we’ve seen the opposite behavior with eddie — he’s clearly good friends with chris’s friends’ parents, he was so happy and glowy when he first met the 118, he befriended may and linda so easily at dispatch, and i could go on and on.

he just seems to connect with people so easily, and i think a lot of that genuine friendliness is lost on people because he also has a tendency to get casually snarky with people he isn’t so fond of, whether it’s annoying temporary coworkers or selfish people on calls or opportunistic reporters. the same thing goes for his private nature vs. buck’s bleeding heart — it’s assumed that eddie isn’t a people person because he likes to keep his innermost feelings close to his chest and it’s also assumed that buck is good at instantly forming connections bc his feelings spill out of him at all times.

and like. it’s not that buck isn’t a kind and friendly person, but i do feel like his specialty is deep acts of love for the people he loves. idk if i’m articulating this right but i’m trying to point out that he’s never more ‘sunshine personified’ than when he’s with the 118 and co. he would do anything for them and he lights up around them in a way that he doesn’t really do with anyone else. and we haven’t seen him be so casually close to people outside that friend group.

when we got a glimpse of connor and buck’s friendship, it seemed more about what they could do for each other than about true connection. when we got that episode about buck and red, a lot of it was projection on buck’s part re. his fear of abandonment and his desire not to let his future turn out like red’s and it was also about his need to fix things for everyone else so he can feel like he’s needed. when he met lucy, he was desperate to fill a void and not feel as hollow as he felt going home to taylor kelly every night with his sister and his brother in law and his partner gone.

don’t get me wrong, i’m not trying to ascribe selfish motivations to buck bc i do believe he always tries to do the right thing, but when it comes to people outside of the 118, with the way it’s been written in canon, i feel like those dynamics have always been more about his own issues than they’ve been about actual friendship. and this isn’t even getting into how he acts when he feels like someone new is encroaching on his territory (see: eddie in 2x01 and lena). idk….i just think that kind of casual connection comes so much easier to eddie for whatever reason. maybe it’s because his abandonment issues are a whole other flavor, or because eddie’s upbringing was so different from buck’s. either way, it’s so interesting and ppl blinded by fanon are really missing out. i apologize for the long ass rambling and i don’t think i really articulated this well, so TL;DR — fanon sunshine buck and broody eddie do not exist in canon and i’m Very excited to see the way that mr. possessive, jealous, broody evan buckley acts when eddie meets someone new this week :)

no, you're so right about all of this, though! buck genuinely does light up and is at his most comfortable and golden retriever-like around the 118, because he sees them as family and trusts them so much—and i think people get carried away and attribute the same thing to everything else (like, for example, the social PTA dad thing). when in canon, buck on multiple occasions has not dealt with new people too well—whether it was eddie, or lena, or ravi...and now, as it looks like, tommy. and you kinda hit the nail on the head about how most of buck's relationships outside the 118 being very transactional in nature up to this point, it's sad, but it's true.

eddie is the complete opposite in this regard, though, like, the guy goes around collecting new friends like they're pokemon. lol. he is so wildly different to the fandom portrayal of him as this anti-social loner that i struggle with understanding how people even got there in the first place (i mean, i know why. but still).

anyway, buck's issues with jealousy and insecurity are sooo interesting to delve into as character flaws and so much more compelling than fandom's portrayal of him as a perfect angel baby who's never done anything wrong, but 🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️ at least i have canon giving me the stuff i want lol

I know I already have an au where Eddie and Henry swap bodies BUT that's only when they're adults, and I was wondering how it'd go with their parents, and the bowers gang, and school stuff. So here's how I think a Henry/Eddie body swap might go down when they're kids.

Let's start with Eddie!

-Eddie wakes up with an immediate tooth ache because Henry doesn't brush his teeth at all and they're a rotten. It's fuckin agonizing but he's able to deal with the pain.

-He goes into the kitchen to eat breakfast, but the sight of an empty table makes Eddie realize just how vastly different the parent-child dynamic is in the Bowers household. Eddie's mother smothers and spoils him so much she'd never forget a meal, but in the Bowers household, not only does Butch not make anything for him, but HE expects HENRY to cook. And so begins Eddie's exhausting and somewhat demaning list of chores Henry has to do everyday.

-He's not used to having to do so much, often times even if Eddie wants to help his mom will swat him away and insist he go play instead. He has to mow the lawn, weed the front yard, fetch eggs, tend to the crops, ect. Ect. It's kind of rewarding, but it's taxing as fuck. He also shows concern for Henry's skin since he apparently works in the sun all day without any sunscreen.

-This goes with out saying, but the unbearable stink of sweat and gum that's always on Henry makes Eddie wanna hurl. He gets pretty squicked out by sweat in general though, which is unfortunate because of the whole "working outside all morning thing".

-He also hates having to take care of Bip and Bop, since pigs are just about one of the grossest animals Eddie can think of. The fact Butch forces him to walk around in the mud and manure to tend to them just makes it so so much worse.

-Thankfully, Eddie doesn't have to deal with Butches anger for the most part, since he doesn't talk back like Henry and he's too scared to rebel in away.

-This is also a minor thing but the Bowers house is absolutely filthy, especially the living room and Henry's bedroom. He can't sit down anywhere.

-Finally, Eddie gets free and can fucking start looking for his friends to help him out. This is difficult though because Henry is actually banned from most places the losers club go, either for stealing stuff, breaking things, or threatening the people at them. He kinda just lurks in town for his oppertunity to catch them.

-Eddie's bigger and more muscular body is pretty much the only good thing about this predicament. He's so much taller now that it's actually kind of disorientating, and half the time he forgets his own strength.

-The Bowers gang eventually find him and drag him away to go shoot bottles and be dicks, and unsurprisingly, Eddie hates it.

-Patrick tries to make a move on him, Belch's behavior is disgusting, Vic's full of himself, and connor is just plain annoying.

-The way they try to egg him on is especially aggrivating, and unfortunately Eddie has to pretend like he, 1. Enjoys their stupid antics, and 2. Is Henry Bowers. Two things he is incredibly bad at.

-The one silver lining is that he gets to make some slight digs at Connor's expense as revenge for him being mean to Richie.

-Insterestingly enough, somehow, Patrick very quickly figures out he's not Henry, but that just makes him wanna hit on Eddie more. Of course the one person who figures it out is fucking Patrick of all people. Fuck.

-The way people look at Henry makes Eddie feel sick and even a little guilty. He knows he's not Henry, so he shouldn't have to feel guilty for what he's done, but the way kids stare at him in town really makes him think. Mike looks at him with such fear, he cannot help but feel awful and like it's somehow his fault. Bill sneers at him, Bev is digusted by his presence, Ben avoids him in the hallway he's so scared. It's horrible, and it really just emphasizes how badly Eddie wants to be himself again.

-While hanging out with the Bowers gang they try to force him to bully some kids, so he just sputters put some weird vauge threats that don't really mean anything if you think about them for more than a second.

-"We should go bully the losers!" "Yeah!" "Awesome idea!" "YEAH HAHAHA THAT WOULD BE SOOOO EPIC OORRRR, HEAR ME OUT, AN EVEN BETTER IDEA, WE DO SOMETHING ELSE!"

Now for Henry's turn!

-Henry wakes up and is immediately shocked by his tiny, fragile, uncalloused little doll hands.

-He's so much weaker and smaller now, and he gets injured much easier than before. He does take notice of Eddie's clean teeth though and uses it as an excuse to eat whatever the hell he wants with no fear of a tooth ache.

-Dude absolutely hates having normal hair, fuckin sucks.

-He also hates everything Eddie wears, finding his shirts and t shirts pretty feminine and weird lookin. Henry would rather chew on glass than ever wear a fanny pack, but Sonia insists he take it.

-Sonia Kaspbrak's smothering quickly goes from nice to incredibly annoying. She pinches his cheeks, forces him to hug her, calls him little pet names, Henry hates it.

-A lot of people call him cute now (Richie included), and the only thing more infuriating than that is the fact he can't really fight back.

-At school he tries to be his usual smug asshole self and he's quickly hung to his locker by his underwear. If it weren't for the losers he could have very well just stayed there all day.

-Belch, Patrick, and Vic all jump his ass and bully him, causing Henry to freak the fuck out and SWEAR he's gonna kick their butts when he gets back to normal.

-He tries to tell the losers to piss off, but everything he tries to do to drive them away only makes them more concerned for Eddie, and thus, makes them wanna reach out more.

-The constant array of pills Sonia forces him to take quickly pisses him off. The inhaler is even worse because he can FEEL Eddie doesn't need it, but his mom practically forces it down Henry's throat.

-He takes all of Richie's jokes SO personally, it's enough to make Richie honestly a little scared.

-Because Eddie's so much smaller than he is there's a load of annoying little moments where he can't reach something or lift something on his own, so he has to get one of the losers to help. The fact every loser is taller than him now fills him with almighty rage, especially Bev.

-The novelty of slipping by undetected and feigning innocence wears thin fast, as Henry misses when he was feared and not overtly condescended and babied by strangers.

-He tries to get his hands on a weapon at one point, since if he can't be strong at least he could compensate with knives and shit, but Sonia snatches it away from him real fast.

-Henry can't even decide if he wants people to know it's him anymore, at some point it just gets so embarrassing he'd rather try to fake being Eddie. At least if people expect Eddie to get pushed around, if anyone knew it was Henry he'd never live all the bullying down.

I'm not sure how this would get resolved or even how this happened in the first place, but I still think this would he a wickedly funny thing to see happen with these two. Right?

“Right, yeah,” Buck says. “That is how I feel.”

“And it’s weird that they asked you, honestly,” Eddie says. “Like… Let’s say one of my sisters was married to a woman and needed that. I’d do it no question.”

“Completely,” Buck agrees. “Yes.”

“But these people haven’t known you for a long time,” Eddie says. “I feel like they’re asking because you’re hot.”

Buck’s mouth parts in surprise. “What?”

“Remember when Hen and Karen were going through this?” Eddie asks. “They could only see the baby photos of the potential donors.”

Got to love people always assuming someone is straight. Heteronormative society. Oliver has as far as we know one long term female partner that he ended things with not too long ago (after nearly a decade it seems). That doesn’t automatically mean he’s straight. As mentioned by yourself, he doesn’t see a difference when having to kiss a man nor a woman. He also alluded to caring more about how a person makes you feel and if they bring happiness to you than gender (in the Men’s Health live from June). He also did a little interview from a few years ago where he said he loved Pose and wanted to be on the show. That is a show about black and brown queer characters in the 80s/90s ballroom scene in New York. The only white guy on that show was Evan Peters (who always works with Ryan Murphy) whose character liked trans women. Simply, if Oliver likes it, he doesn’t care what anyone else has to say.

1st I didn't mention Oliver in that bucktommy post because He is definitely NOT the reason why that kiss (makeout session according to them) looks stiff and awkward

2nd Oliver actually confirmed he doesn't mind kissing men like he really said that it was the same as kissing a woman so the issue was not with him. If he has to tongue kiss a man he will absolutely do it

Also yes he has never actually confirmed his sexuality and even though we only know about his on and off for years ex Hannah, so we can't assume he is straight or not until he himself confirms it and until then, his sexuality is none of our business.

I for one am straight so I never want to assume anyone's sexuality and I don't ever want to press someone to tell me because it is none of my business unless they want to tell me that. If someone is from the lgbtq community and wants to tell me I will be ready to embrace them and thank them for telling me and be as supportive as I can (I am quite literally called Valentina like the ally from that one video so it makes sense 🤣) so everyone from the community will always have a safe space in my blog to talk and I welcome any advice if I step over the line about something

Going back to Oliver, we should not assume he is straight but no one should ever question his sexuality now that Buck has been confirmed bi because he doesn't owe his sexuality to anyone so it pisses me off that bt want to excuse his fave lfjr being stiff while kissing a man by saying they are both straight so of course they are uncomfortable because they are actors but no. It shouldn't be like that... if they are not comfortable then they can say so and talk about it with the intimacy coordinator and Oliver has pretty much confirmed that he isn't uncomfortable so...

And on that topic I don't want a repeat of what Kit Connor went through so this is not for you anon this is just a general thing... If/when Eddie is confirmed gay and buddie gets together I don't want ANYONE talking about Oliver or Ryan's sexualities because they don't owe it to anyone to say anything.

what are ur headcanons for buck and tommy's nuptials

I've said some of these before but:

Tommy does something small and intimate for the engagement. It's them at home, very sweet and very subdued. He spends weeks planning it with Maddie's help, recruits Eddie for the whole display he does (idk if it's flowers or some other craft, but there's definitely a display). Dozens of electric candles (because fire safety kids!). In my head, he uses the candles to spell out "marry me" (or some variation of that).

They talk about eloping, just getting it over with in a weekend, not because they aren't excited about it, but because they're not 20-year-old kids anymore. They just want to get on with the next phase (settling into marriage, whether that includes kids or just a bunch of dogs, building their house, making sure their advanced directives are in order), and being married is an important part of all of that. Still, their friends are not okay with this. Hen tells them how important her wedding was with her mom in attendance. Maddie reminds them that they can still do something small and intimate AND allow their family to celebrate them. Eddie, the consummate romantic, tells them that they can't skip the wedding because he wants all the romance without the commitment. Bobby and Athena tell them they'll support whatever they decide.

They have a short engagement, just like Bobby and Athena, and decide to get married in the backyard.

There's an argument over best men. First, they both want Eddie. Then, Chim intervenes and they both argue over him. Somehow, things really get switched up and Bobby ends up as Evan's best man while Tommy has Chim. Eddie gets to be the one that marries them. (Eddie might have lost his spot as best man for Evan because he misplaced the rings a few weeks before the wedding, but who's to say 👀)

When asked "who gives these two away", the entire 118 (and Maddie) says "we do". It's fucking emotional.

Jee-Yun is the flower girl and baby Buck (Connor's kid) is the ring bearer.

THE SPEECHES: Chimney definitely mentions Maurice. Bobby's makes everyone cry. Eddie manages to bring the mood back up by roasting both of them. Maddie also tries to give a speech, talking about how happy she is to see her brother so happy and settled, and how much she loves how Tommy has become a part of their forged family, but she can't get the words out.

HenRen find a moment in the midst of the reception to ask Tommy if his intentions are honorable again. He basically is like "look, I have cake. Can I enjoy my cake? You're literally at my wedding reception."

Phillip and Margaret are there, mostly out of a feeling of obligation to invite them, but Evan pays little mind to their attendance. It's the private speeches about love and marriage Athena and Bobby give him that night that mean more.

Evan went full Clipboard™ on the entire process, down to color coordination. Fall wedding, fall colors. (I'm imagining emerald green dress shirts under their tuxes - color scheme actually found here)

As always, Tommy thinks Clipboard Buck is hot, so he just lets him go wild on the whole thing.
