ok once again I don't know too much about flowers but I like talking about them so bear with me lol
first of all morning glories are SO different than hydrangeas it seems almost like it was said on purpose
but one thing in common is they were always both very popular flowers in japanese culture since the heian era so sukuna just accessing megumi's flower memories seems like a very convenient LIE
especially with sukuna's line about sorcerers bonding with each other (sounds very possible for two sorcerers that shared a body) the themes of these flowers are so important imo. morning glories named after their morning bloom and mid-day fade represent the beauty in the fleeting moments just like everything else yuuji is trying to show, all the small things that make every life worthwile and important. hydrangeas on the other hand are associated with mutual understanding and unity. but they are also famous for having a very contrasting meaning in western culture: arrogance and a lack of empathy (what we see from sukuna all the time haha).

like i see people say stuff like “rei is a deconstruction of the idea of like the perfect girl in a male gaze-y way” and and i'm ready to agree until they go “it’s because she’s creepy and weird and bad!” like no. rei's a deconstruction of misogynistic ideas of womanhood because they’re ideals forced upon her that damage her, not because she’s in any way “creepy”. like, the fact she’s a fourteen year old girl who was basically used as a substitute wife by her father bc she looked like his own dead wife is not something that is meant to make rei look bad like holy shit.
like both rei and asuka are very obviously like. showing fantasised and misogynistic ideas of an idealised woman don’t work irl yeah. shinji's misogynistic view of them is wrong. but that’s not because rei and asuka are bad people it’s because like. “fourteen year old who's flirty and seductive” and “fourteen year old who's a quiet obedient object” are major signs of abuse and trauma and anyone actually acting in those ways at that age clearly isn’t normal. asuka is desperate for attention in any way she can get it, even unhealthy and dangerous ways. rei is at the very least I has a weird pseudo-incestous enmeshment filled abusive relationship with her father, even if she's not actively being sexually abused. asuka is seeking support, rei is a grooming victim. these are not things that are flaws in their character the entire point of subverting the expectations is to show how those expectations are unhealthy to rei and asuka like. god.

me, tapping the mic on a stage: ''elizabeth swann not only was and is the confirmed primary protagonist of the pirates of the caribbean trilogy, but also is an incredible example for female characters to be flawed with complex inner conflicts while still having clear desires and goals; she's morally ambiguous yet simultaneously is a beacon of bravery and hope; in subtext representing an audience of admirers of piracy but also standing out as a believable, organic character with her own evolving relationship to what being a pirate means. She got and still gets unfairly bashed for doing nearly the same things the rest of the male cast does and is constantly demeaned and insulted in the most misogynistic and myopic, bad faith lenses. You may not like her personally, but it's important to consider that her role is factually very important and meaningful to the franchise and to many many fans who felt inspired by her, the truest of pirate kings.''
people start booing me off the stage, I start to step down. Three voices stand out in the crowd while clapping instead, silencing the ruckus made by wide-eyed self-proclaimed 'mega-fans' of the franchise.
everyone turns to see to whom the voices belong to...
gore verbinski, the director, terry rossio and ted elliot, the scriptwriters of the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy say: ''they're right, you know.''

i cant stop thinking about the pie scene. its such a perfect representation of their relationship, even if their roles are a little reversed. the worry and the care they have for each other is so telling in this scene because up until this point loki was solely focused on finding sylvie and nothing could really break them out of their focus but the moment the SECOND there's something wrong with mobius they forget about everything to be there for him. like they could've continue the interrogation on their own and s1 loki must likely would have done so, but instead they went after mobius, CHASED after him basically, gently tried to persuade him to talk and were genuinely so focus on mobius they didn't even question where they were going (because mobius was leading them and they trust mobius to lead them wherever he wants to). and what really gets me is the way they say "mobius, you were clearly ahead of me" because it could be written down to their usual bickering and the back and forth that they always have but instead, loki sounds concerned. they sound so concerned that mobius, who is usually calm and collected and levelheaded, didn't even know WHERE they were going. you can see how concerned they are in every movement of their body, they don't try to hide it or play it off as a joke, instead they try to make it better for mobius. can you remember a time loki did that for someone, even in future movies? because i can't. and here is the crux of it all, they know mobius so well that they automatically know food/pie will make it better for him so they offer to eat pie with him. the whole scene they speak in such a soft voice and are visibly so careful with what they're saying because they dont want to screw this up, they dont want to make this harder for mobius. they wait him out and when he finally admits that it wasn't tactical, he just lost it, they have this little smile like they're PROUD of mobius for admitting and being so open and then they go on to further reassure mobius and say "it's okay" which they basically learned from mobius since before him nobody really took the time to reassure them like that. but mobius always did, because of course he did. and then they bring them into a lighter territory with them mentioning new york in a flippant way because they no doubt just want to see mobius smile again. and sure they might disapprove of mobius' choice to not visit his timeline but they don't argue with him because ultimately they recognize that it's MOBIUS' choice. and then AND THEN when loki gets worried about how to get brad to talk, mobius is THERE to be the one to reassure them and make them SMILE. like it's just crazy to me that he was the one upset just a few minutes ago but the moment he sees loki SLIGHTLY unsure of themselves he steps in and KNOWS how to make loki smile. i need to lie down.

₊˚.𖹭 stop romanticising self hatred.
𓏲. something that absolutely infuriates me is just how fucking normalised self hatred is nowadays. let me get this straight you hate it when someone else talks shit abt or hurts one of your loved ones but its PERFECTLY FINE to go hating on and sabotaging and abusing and neglecting yourself ??? girl .
i have said this so many times and i cannot stress this enough that you are and forever will be the most important relationship you have for the rest of your life because youre there 24/7 365 every second every day all the time forever. so it absolutely baffles me how this is the relationship people are constantly neglecting the most?????????
like think ab it for a sec. its absolutely ridiculous????? it saddens me when i see anyone, even little kids saying they hate themselves and getting laughs out of it.its not funny and its not something to be normalised or romanticised. and because we are surrounded with this mindset it reflects on us too and we subconsciously blend into it and absorb it into our self perception.
dont. do. this. its ridiculous and sad and self deprecating and only reinforces other peoples negative perceptions of us further when they may not have even been there to begin with. do you seriously want to be one of those people? do you seriously want people to view you as insecure and self deprecating and desperate for attention and sad and uncomfortable in their own skin? no. no u dont.
i do not wanna hear you saying you hate yourself or anything of the sort ever. again. its stupid and useless and provides absolutely nothing to you. why do you do it? seriously? like? its ridiculous? stfu?
no. you walk into the room and you hold your head high. you make your presence known because your presence is a blessing. you are a blessing. you keep your back straight and your shoulders back and you know your the shit bc u ARE. stop acting like youre not just to fit in with everyone else. stop engaging with them if thats what it takes. youre worth so much more than that.
u are amazing and talented and stunning and can do absolutely anything in the world and yet you still choose to do this. you are amazing. start acting like it ok?? <3
