You’re obviously a foreigner responding to most asks with blatant ChatGPT and like most people providing commentary on here have never actually interacted with the American legal system in any shape or form.

The clothes WERE searched before being provided to him, which is how they caught those two notes in the first place. The smuggling would still have been on record even if those clothes had been received two days prior and screened at MDC instead. You seem to be making an issue out of the fact that he gets fresh clothes to change into right before his appearances instead of wearing them wrinkled all the way from jail. This is the process his team has followed since his very first appearance in Federal court the day he was brought to New York.

This is not the prosecution’s fault but reflects very badly on his team because they seem to have outsourced his wardrobe to some horny nut with no knowledge of legal protocol. They were the first ones to handle those socks and should have made sure there was no contraband in there, especially since it came from someone outside their firm. The cops did nothing to jeopardise his safety here, they’re following all the rules. This is a slip up from his team.

Just saw a video of a weapons instructor at a traffic stop

He kept his hands in plain view, immediately informed the cops that he had a concealed-carry license and his gun was on his right hip, and informed the cops before he did anything.

A bunch of people in the comments were sneering at the fact that he “had” to do it to avoid getting shot.

Which assumes he would’ve been shot without it.

People who tried to point out that what he did was logical were accused of being “bootlickers”. 

Apparently implying that some people can act like in a way that leads to cops shooting them, even if they aren’t an actual threat, is the same as saying the cops are completely blameless and didn’t do anything wrong.

And, of course, none of these people said what someone “should” be allowed to do without getting shot.

A lot of people have a binary view of police interaction. Either the subject is wrong, or the cops are. And if the cops are wrong - even if the suspect looked exactly like a threat to any reasonable observer - therefore the people the cops are dealing with must be completely innocent, even in ways that have nothing to do with what happened at the incident.

Guy carried this stupid gun-shaped phone case to Stanstead airport in 2016. He got stopped by the cops, for obvious reasons. Could’ve gone a lot worse for him.

Similar incident happened in an Illinois park in 2019. And there was that controversial derringer designed to look like an iPhone from a few years back.

The crucial thing is to be "unmarketable", but only to the mainstream, if you become actually unmarketable then you become "annoying and/or dangerous." We can show this via this graph with no labeled axes. (I guess it's technically a spectrum that's been rotated into two dimensions to better imply there are multiple factors that work together to determine someone's place on the chart. Anyway.)

Remember, to be Unmarketable, you have to be marginalized, but not too marginalized, (Sure, you're Gay or something but like, you're also Trans or Woman or Jewish or Black or some combination of the above? Get tone-watching, because everyone violates ToS, but you're going to get reported more and thus get caught doing it more.) The best part is that there's little actual solidarity-in-marginalization between these groups (after all there's never been much solidarity in marginalization before), and occasionally active hostility, and also there isn't even solidarity within the groups, so many of the reports will be shots between and within the marginalized groups in addition to typical external harassment campaigns. Luckily, due to years of marginalization and social isolation, differing access to education, and natural variation between people, many members of these groups will have found community among others with extreme political positions, and will have adopted collection of the worst, most easily disprovable takes and a deeply conspiratorial worldview where the takes being disproven just reenforces the truth thereof, and then can use their marginalization in one category to shield themselves from accusations of error in others.

You also have to make sure to disagree with the mainstream consensus outside (capitalism failed, and this can't be a nuanced failing of interacting incentive structures and tradeoffs that were made over decades and could possibly be mostly fixed by regulation and new tax incentives, and is competing against other systems with both different flaws and some shared issues, it has to be so obvious and easily utopianly fixable that it's surprising no one noticed this, and it's probably a conspiracy of secret uniquely immoral people who made others not see this, because they hate good things. Also things are getting worse every day all the time forever, except during the period right at the beginning of your close circle's political awareness. This is shared with every prior generation purely coincidentally because this time it's true, we promise.)

But remember to not disagree with the mainstream consensus inside, doubly so if you're already in a marginalized position, because crossing that line gets your ass reported. Don't think the current stance people have developed on an issue is a good one, or that they've adopted as truth huge chunks of ethnonationalist and religious-conservative rhetoric? Think people are being supportive of ideas that repeatedly fail like not even once have they worked and say so? Think that maybe people are mischaracterizing a technology and their policy proposals are misguided? Urge caution and raise questions of scalability (or worse, legitimacy) about types of individual or collective action? Think perhaps things have improved ever? We call that "bootlicking", for which you get death threats (and reported). Also reporting people for harassment and spreading misinformation is bootlicking too. What are you, a cop?

Remember, You're only Unmarketable if you're immediately likeable and do stuff people near you like when they like without fail. A good strategy is to conceal as much of yourself as possible, because otherwise you might not become Unmarketable, which is about being yourself, especially when the parts of yourself that you be are the parts everyone likes, so you can test each part of yourself until you find the ones that people like best and conceal the rest forever! (Just make sure to not do those parts people do like too much, because otherwise you'll very quickly become a boring stupid normie or an annoying creepy danger.)

Then let’s go ahead and have a conversation, being attracted to a child as an adult is morally wrong, and there are reasons for that, children are not even remotely close to the maturity level or mental capacity that adults are and to be attracted to somebody so young and emotionally different then you- especially when it puts you in a position of power over them- is wrong. It’s exactly why teacher/student relationships are frowned upon, because the teacher has a huge position of power of the student and therefore the relationship can never realistically be consensual or healthy. Being attracted to children is a taboo for a reason, and it’s not just because people want to “put others down” it’s because there are serious moral implications that comes with it. I don’t understand why anybody would want to be in that kind of situation, why anybody would ever want to be in such a position of power that the relationship could never be healthy- could never do anything but leave long lasting trauma.

And quite honestly if you haven’t experienced the kind of trauma that comes with that, the kind of hurt that you receive from somebody who knew better, from somebody who had that position of power over you and then abusing it then I’m not sure why you would want to speak on the issue so in depth. Because the only people who can truly understand that kind of pain are the people who go through it and *maybe* people who have professional training and experience in the mental health field.

Nobody is telling you that you’re wrong for having a “different opinion”, you’re being told you’re wrong because while you’re saying that CSA and rape and assault and abuse is bad you’re still trying to justify morally wrong behavior. That is the issue, you’re using a platform to blast the idea that age doesn’t matter and that it has no actual purpose other then to keep time when that’s wrong. Because it does matter, experience and age matter, even if people don’t want to believe that.

i think you're unnecessarily combining attraction with abuse, here. because every kind of romantic or sexual interaction between an adult and a kid is bad, and we can both agree on that. age very much does matter in relationships, you're right; a 16 and an 18 year old are fine, but a 14 year old and an 18 year old aren't. we agree on all that. other power imbalances are generally bad too; even if you're in college and you and your professor are the same age, that's not the kinda dynamic that'd lead to a healthy relationship.

the only thing i don't agree with that you're saying here is that the attraction itself is morally wrong, too. for one, it's something that people literally cannot help. it's why stuff like homohobes saying "just choose not to be gay" makes no sense at all. (no, i'm not saying you're homophobic, i just mean that you can see the whole "i can't consciously change my attractions" in other places too.)

two, people who are attracted to others can avoid interacting with them. it happens all the time; i see a pretty guy in a coffee shop, i don't interact with him, we never see each other again. stuff like that. this doesn't change if the subject of your attraction is a kid; i would argue that you're morally obligated to not mention that to the kid, but it doesn't make you a bad person for simply being attracted to them.

fantasies are morally neutral. i can fantasize about responding to queerphobia with immediate violence, even though in reality that's not really a productive way of dealing with that; that doesn't make me dangerous to be around or violent irl. sexual fantasies aren't any different. cops are horrible irl, but i'm not gonna call people doing sexual roleplay where one is a cop bootlickers for that.

attraction is morally neutral, too. a straight guy can be into a lesbian, and that doesn't mean he's a bad person for thinking she's hot or being attracted to her; it'd only be bad if he pursued her after knowing she wasn't alright with that. this applies to other things too; if you're attracted to a kid, that's morally neutral. it only becomes bad if you tell the kid about it, or try to pursue them in any way.

Okay snarky quips aside... mixed bag. Hopefully this is just the show finding its footing, but PnF and Milo both had much stronger pilots. Ironically, for having extra runtime to smooth things out, this actually feels weirdly paced. They establish the status quo way too quickly, and while the emotional beats do feel earned by the end, getting there feels pretty contrived. Best part was the song, actually. Voice acting wise, Gretel actually sticks out the most, if this is just the first ep look forward to seeing why Meli got the Emmy nomination. Fred's probably the best character so far, but honestly nobody's standing out too much yet, I think something about her vocal performance isn't working for me yet. Kevin's probably the most sympathetic character. Anyway, like I said, mixed bag.

Lauren's also kinda fun with how cliche social media girl she is, you can tell Alyson Stoner is having fun voicing her.

Valerie Breiman, now where have I heard that name... no... it can't be... NOT THE CO-CREATOR OF THE ABOMINATION ITSELF, RECURRING RACCOON! Yeah, a writer that joined on MML S2 and stuck around, her's and Marja Adriance's eps were pretty shit typically, no doubt cuz they used that fucking abomination most liberally.

"She picked Freud cuz she thinks he needed therapy." Okay that's a good one. Fred hasn't always landed for me but when she hits she hits.

Probably the most solid ep so far, weirdly enough, even if as indicated the writer here didn't leave a good impression on me in the past, but hey TV production is complicated. Focused on a silly villain premise, and stuck to it. Fred also had some cool moments.

He's not credited for some reason but I heard apparently Eddie Pittman who worked on Season 4 of Phineas and Ferb, including writing-boarding some pretty iconic episodes, did storyboards for it.

"Would banks be robbed less if they didn't have so much money in them?" Uh... what.

Oh so the last villain was van d slur (ok am I milking this bit too much), eps do seem to have some degree of continuity so far, which makes sense but surprised that it's overall pretty tight.

Also something about the art style looks slightly off? I think some of the colours are weirdly saturated sometimes. IDK, like it doesn't look as bad as the first impressions I had back in 2022 but there are moments where characters look kind of off.

I know the trouble with academia is that a lot of people have issues finding articles because they’re locked behind a paywall, therefore restricting access. I just want to step forward and offer my help to attaining these sources.

So basically, if you’re looking to access an academic article that is behind a paywall, please pm me and I’ll see if I can find and download it and then email it over (using a dummy email). I will only do this for digital sources, which may be unfortunate for humanities scholars because a lot of humanities resources are text only/have yet to be digitized.
