20 Questions aka. Oversharing on the Internet version 92840938
Thanks for the tag @rmd-writes - how did you know i didn't feel like doing work?
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
excluding the ones i've flagged for deletion (when i get around to it) - 46.
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
972,000 and i'm going to hit a million by the end of the year! i have one co-written collab so we can subtract about 30k (ish) from that total (but with ALTA i'll still make a milly woohoo).
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Red, White & Royal Blue, 911 Lone Star, Top Gun Maverick (occasionally)
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
ah man this kills me because it excludes my most beloved fic (love game lol). in descending order:
Speak for Yourself (RWRB, my very first fic for that fandom! 2021 me in her study writing a random 3k first chapter could never have imagined being this lucky)
The Ring-In (with @dustratcentral) (911 Lone Star, this fic makes me feel like my Tarlos writing has gotten worse instead of better lmao)
Fifty First Dates (RWRB)
(Not) A Cinderella Story (RWRB)
Cursed is a State of Mind (with @dustratcentral) (RWRB, just about to hit 1k! there's something magical about an ifyoustay collab apparently)
jeez i never realised how RWRB heavy that is...
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Always. You put in the effort to comment on my work, I'm gonna put in the effort to reply to you. I appreciate comments so much, even if they're just emojis or one line or whatever. I appreciate every single one of them (except the mean ones).
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I don't usually go here, but I think it has to be Contaminated (RWRB).
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
99% of my fics have happy endings (except for the fic above lol) but I'd say the happiest ending is in (Un)Professional Services because they're So. In. Love. and they just *spoiler* together and they're about to *spoiler*.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Rarely and I usually ignore it or delete it (so there's no point doing it).
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
A Lot. Usually served with a heavy side of feelings - I like it when the smut drives the plot, when it helps the characters have those Oh Shit realisations. I'm also a sucker for explicit, enthusiastic consent.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
I have written like 30% of a RWRB/Lone Star crossover that may never see the light of day because I keep forgetting about it.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
If I have, I don't know about it.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes! I've had a few of my fics translated by incredible people! Phonography, Warm Whispers and Baby, Make Your Move have all been translated and can be found above. I'm fine with people translating my fics, so long as they're linked to the original and remain on ao3.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yes and I love it. I want to do it more often! @rmd-writes collab was an amazing experience. i've also loved working with @dustratcentral on so many of my more unhinged works.
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
I don't think I can choose between Alex/Henry and TK/Carlos.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Probably that damn crossover, unless there's like significant interest in me finishing it lmao.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Oh no. giving myself a compliment help. I would say worldbuilding. dialogue/banter. gratuitous feelings during sex.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
exposition. being concise. overwriting to the max @three-drink-amy (this is an attack on you as well but we are we).
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
i've done it before but to be honest i'm scared to. 1) i don't want to get it wrong. 2) i don't want to annoy my very talented friends that can speak other languages by asking them 10 billion questions lol.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
...I plead the 5th.
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
Love Game. I don't care that it's not as popular. it's my child. Also, ALTA (because of the many tears that went into it). We are bonded by trauma.

20 questions (for fanfic writers)
cheers for the tag @sarah-sandwich <3
1. how many works do you have on ao3?
57.
2. what's your total ao3 word count?
412,260
3. what fandoms do you write for?
mcu but mostly just irondad, though i stopped writing that for a bit when a small (large) marauders obsession hit so now i write both depending on the fic im working on. also taken a side step into parkner recently
4. top five fics by kudos:
A Different Future - peter snaps one-shot
Futures are Made to be Broken - more in depth follow up to peter snaps one shot
The Best Day of Harley's Life (and the worst of Peter's) - classic field trip fic only harley is like the tourguide and makes it his mission to ruin peter's day. not actually parkner but for sure the beginning of my growing love for harley
Not my First Time - part of webpril challenge one-shot, tony and peter are stuck under a building, conversation ensue
Where Do You Think You're Going - urrrmmmm good question. its a whumptober one-shot so peter must get beat up. pretty sure its by quentin beck and his drones, lets assume tony finds him and saves the day (its less than 2000 words i could read it and find out but im lazy)
5. do you respond to comments?
i do my best!
6. what is the fic your wrote with the angstiest ending?
ermmm *checks notes* Is This It? springs to mind first. you know the deleted scene of tony snapping and seeing morgan? well in this one he sees peter, only peter is a good few years older and has sorted his life out a bit. its sad obvi, but also kind of happy? the end lines are sad sad though :( so either that or 01/11/81 (if you're a marauders fan you already know that date) which basically very closely follows remus throughout the entire day after james and lily are killed etc. its very angsty all the way through, mary is a sweetheart, and at the end he's left all alone...
7. what's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
most tbh. im going to say Past, Present, Yet to Come because that's my baby. (peter is the ghost of christmas present, tony is scrooge, only its like the ryan reynolds film spirited, very good)
8. do you get hate on fics?
nope! (and please dont :) )
9. do you write smut?
nah
10. craziest crossover:
well ive only ever written one and it was mcu/glee and there's a reason i never finished it (nor am linking it [insert skull emoji])
11. have you ever had a fic stolen?
not that ive noticed
12. have you ever had a fic translated?
nope!
13. have you ever co-written a fic before?
nope! im a solitary kinda guy
14. all time favourite ship?
what a question... wolfstar is a classic, ineffable husbands are precious to me, doctor/rose is nostalgic... i can't pick favourites
15. what's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
besides all of them? all of them.
no but really there are so many and i have this problem of thinking of idea -> getting excited -> writing beginning -> not knowing where to take it -> get excited by new idea -> repeat. im working on it though and do genuinely plan to finish them all
16. what are your writing strengths?
yknow i honestly think my general writing is at a pretty good level. defo room for improvement but there always it, int there? id say that's a general strength, but specifically i think im goooood at making things angsty. and i love doing it so win win
17. what are your writing weaknesses?
well... finishing anything. plotting out full stories is a big problem. (though ive recently started a notebook for random ideas for fics and its helping) um... tbh i can struggle with everything from time to time. i think getting characters voices right can be hard cos i often find people saying things they would never say and having to go back and and put them straight. er,,, action can be next to impossible if The Vision isn't there.
18. thoughts on dialogue in another language?
i dont have many. if its a language i cant read i just skim past and sometimes read an end note translation but if there's too much im just going to go with the flow
19. first fandom you wrote in?
mcu
20. favourite fic you've written?
again, Past, Present, Yet to Come is my babygirl. love him to pieces. can i say fics ive not finished yet? because parkner hunger games au and marauders doccy who are fire and one day will see the light of day (and get names)
tagging @winter-turtle @helloliriels erm ive forgotten everyone who has ever existed... @ anyone who i followed in the boopening who writes and @ anyone who just wants to (no pressure at all obvi)

20 Questions for Writers
Tagged by @faelynny (nerd) 1. How many works do you have on AO3? 33 as of this post. 2. What's your total AO3 word count? 35,905, it seems low for the amount of works i've posted, but I have some old 100-300 word drabble challenges posted and a few crack fics.
3. What fandoms do you write for? I used to write for Linked Universe (LOZ), but I don't anymore. Right now I am writing actively for Genshin Impact and I have some unposted Fire Emblem Three Houses fics in the works.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos? - some things can't be solved by being cut with a sword (376) - you probably couldn't see for the lights but you were staring straight at me (234) - if i had a boy (207) - mighty pumpkin soup for the soul (194) - pouring out a cold one for your homie (170) (all are Linked Universe)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? I try to when I can, if I can come up with an answer then 9 times out of ten I will respond. Sometimes I even just comment to thank them for reading. I won't be holding conversation threads much though.
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? There are definitely angstier ones that haven't been posted, but I'd say probably you mean nothing to me, it has an ending where essentially one of the characters sacrifices himself to bring back the rest of his team from the dead and wishes he had never met them to spare him the heartache, it ends with him dying alone and with regrets.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? It's not posted yet, but my Genshin Fic "Our Converging Paths", after a tense battle, the characters end up bonding on their way back home.
8. Do you get hate on fics? I have before, but no one can hate my fics as much as I do /hj/jk I just kinda delete the comments and block, because if my fic is causing them that much distress that they need to comment that, then maybe it's for the best that they can't interact with it anymore. /lh
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? I do not, but the closest I've gotten is writing a crack fic about how a character's ass jiggles.
10. Do you write crossovers? I may have one or two in the works but they aren't my favorite, I generally like to write things that could be plausible in canon, where canon has left things unfortunately empty.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Yes but it was way before my ao3 account, on wattpad someone was stealing my fic and I ended up just deleting my account lol.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? No, but I wouldn't say no.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Yes, but none have ever been finished or posted.
14. What's your all-time favorite ship? I don't ship things very often, and can probably count my ships across all fandoms on just my two hands, but right now my all-time favorite ship would have to be Dimitri/Claude (fire emblem)
15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? I was working on a fic about the First Link and Hylia and it turned into a cool medieval political drama with heavy fantasy elements, but I don't think it will ever get done.
16. What are your writing strengths? I have been told I'm really good at dialogue and banter.
17. What are your writing weaknesses? Finishing fics lol/hj I'd say seriously that being descriptive of the environment is very hard, I can describe a wound or a situation fairly decently, but trying to make the world exist and not make it feel like this is happening in some dark void is difficult.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? I never have, because I only know English, but if it is done well and not just some random google translated phrases thrown into a fic at random, I think it can add a lot to a story.
19. First fandom you wrote for? Technically my first fanfiction was about Hetalia. But, I've basically wiped my old fanfics' existence from history, so now I suppose I could say Linked Universe.
20. Favorite fic you've ever written? It is still in progress, I have a story about Dimitri that will come out eventually, but I haven't been able to work on it recently, I don't know who to tag lol I don't use tumblr really that often.

A03 Tag Game
Oh heyyyy @mentallydatingahotcelebrity thank you for tagging me in this and making me feel like an ACTUAL WRITER MY GOSH, even though it took me five days to actually do it...
How many works do you have on AO3?
Nine, which is a pleasant surprise. I thought it was more like five... Plus, one of them is a compilation of 31 little ficlets I wrote for an Ineffable Holiday challenge last year, so I suppose in a way you could say 39. I'm relatively new to writing fanfic, so I'm actually proud of myself for having this many already.
What is your total AO3 wordcount?
39,850. My goodness. That many words of fanfic. Astonishing. And that doesn't even include the stuff I have yet to post. I wonder what the word count of my original writing must be???
How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
Four fandoms... Good Omens (mostly), The Politician, Crimson Peak, and Only Lovers Left Alive. For someone who loves Tom Hiddleston and all his work, I have the dickens of a time writing for him. No idea why. I have an old Loki fic that I keep meaning to edit and post, but you know... Something shiny and new always comes along.
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Well, this will be interesting... I have no idea. Lemme just casually provide links to subtly hint that you (yes you) ought to go read my words. Just kidding. Or am I?
1. Dreams and Plans (Good Omens fic) Awww, this is the very first fic I posted! And I'm still super proud of it, so this makes me happy.
2. Holidays in the South Downs (Good Omens compilation) See, this is the one I expected to have the most kudos. It's the compilation I mentioned earlier, so I fully expected it to have the most engagement.
3. Baby Blue Transistor (Good Omens fic) Clearly, my readers are a Type. This was a "Good Omens Lockdown" fix-it fic. Because NO WAY was I going to let Crowley sleep through the pandemic and leave his angel all alone. And Aziraphale wasn't about to let that happen either.
4. Shelter from the Rain (Good Omens fic) Aw. I love this one. Writing it made me happy.
5. Crimson Past (Crimson Peak fic) It's flippin' hilarious to me that this one makes the list, since it's literally just something I threw on ao3 for a lark. But I guess if you've only got nine options to work from... 💁🏻‍♀️
Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
I always respond! I just get so excited at seeing that someone cared enough about something I wrote to have a reaction to it! And more people who have the same interests! It's just! So cool!!! Lucky me, so far I haven't had any really negative comments, but I would hopefully do my best to respond well to those if they ever come my way.
What is the fic you’ve written with the Angstiest ending?
Hmm. Probably Crimson Past or Will You Stay?
Crimson Past is about the aftermath of what happens in the movie, so I mean...
And Will You Stay? is a little moment between Payton Hobart and River Barkley from The Politician. Yeah. If you know you know.
I love a good bit of angst, but I mostly tend to write happy endings if possible, because I love the characters I write for and just want them to be happy. Is that too much to ask???
Do you ever write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve ever written?
S...sort of? I mean, kind of. I'm not sure if it really counts. BUT ANYWAY let me talk about my most recent endeavor, okayy?
Lonely Nights is a semi-crossover of Only Lovers Left Alive/an original character that's based on the "story" of Ben Platt's cover of "You and I" by Lady Gaga. Trust me, I know it sounds weird, but to me the music video has such a strong character and even narrative that it totally counts in my brain.
Anyways, it has like 5 kudos because it's supremely random, but I had such fun writing it that I'm currently writing a sequel. And maybe even turning it into a trilogy ye gods above save me from myself.
Have you ever received hate on a fic?
If I have, I deleted it and repressed the memory. Luckily I'm not big or popular enough to garner that kind of attention. Unless, as I said, I repressed it all. Apart from Good Omens, honestly the fandoms I write for are small enough that people just seem grateful for ANY new content, so it's a win-win situation. 🤣
Do you write smut? If so what kind?
Oh no, I can't write smut to save my LIFE. I'm not sure why, I love reading the stuff, but somehow I just feel so foolish trying to write it. I'm much more the "fade to black" kind of writer.
I did just write a quick little rather steamy moment for Ben, my Lonely Nights + Unnamed Sequel OC, but even that was written from the perspective of an unwitting observer and was intended for comedy purposes, so yeah. And both participants were fully clothed throughout.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not as far as I'm aware... Again, being small and in tiny fandoms has its advantages.
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Not technically, although I am currently indebted to Mental (hi!) for donating like half of the good ideas for my current WIP, and being a cheerleader for the other half. So in a way??? Anyway, shout-out to you for being amazing, Mental. 💞
What’s your all-time favourite ship?
Don't ask me that. That's mean. I could be here for days. But as of THIS PARTICULAR MOMENT, my top three (in no particular order) would have to be The Ineffables (GO), River/Payton (The Politician), and Ben/Top Secret New OC from my WIP.
What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Honestly, I'm pretty sure it was the Curious George fandom when I was like five years old... But that's not on ao3, so. I bet my mom still has the original manuscript somewhere in her house though, so you never know.
What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
It's a toss-up between Lonely Nights/its upcoming sequel, purely because I'm having so much fun with them, and Give Me One Weekend, a Politician fic, because it makes me happy to write about my boys being happy.
Okayyyyy, I'm gonna tag @missarisanitewrites even though you've probably already done this... But just in case you haven't. Mainly, I'm just a fan (curses on you for that Professor!Tom nonsense) and wanted to tag you, so. Hi. No pressure.
And also @broken-lycan because Ummmm hello you're super talented and ought to flaunt your words at every opportunity and also I miss you so Hi.

Top 5 movies!! Top five bands! Top five fics if you have favorites
Okay I just typed this WHOLE thing out twice and both times I’ve tried to post it tumblr decided to be a bitch and delete it all. So. Here we go again, third time lucky.
My top 5 movies:
1. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off - I’ve always loved this film since I was a kid, the fourth wall breaks are *chefs kiss*
2. Bugsy Malone - very underrated imo. It’s about the prohibition but the actors are all kids so it’s family friendly. Also has some banging songs in it I won’t lie.
3. Ghostbusters - the original, obviously. Although I am excited as fuck for the new one.
4. Airplane! - old but gold. Makes me crack up every time I watch it.
5. Matilda - I remember watching this on my 8th birthday for the first time and thinking it was the best thing ever. I wanted her powers so bad lmao.
Bands: I don’t really listen to bands, mostly just random songs so I’m not really sure. But I guess the bands I probably listen to the most are The Cure, The Aubreys, The Front Bottoms, Hippo Campus and maybe Queen? I did go through a big p!atd phase last year though I don’t really listen to them anymore.
Fics: this is so hard to do cos I’ve read so many damn fics, but if I had to pick 5 off the top of my head I would say
love is all that I need and I found it in your heart by drlecters - it’s just so lovely. Nothing else I can say.
wonder violet by belby - I love how it makes you feel like something’s off in the first couple of chapters, but you don’t know why.
Just A Shot Away by toziesque - I mean it’s a reddie fic loosely based off Hot Fuzz, what more could you want?
And finally, I don’t know if this really counts but I’ve been reading a lot of social media aus on twitter and Turtle Creek is just amazing. So good.
(Sorry I didn’t link any of them, but they’re all on ao3, except Turtle Creek)
Thank you for the ask Kata! <3
put “top 5” anything in my ask and i will answer

Author Asks
Rules: answer these questions and tag five other fic writers to do the same.
I was tagged by @novemberhush, thank you!
Author Name: rieraclaelin
Fandoms You Write For: I mostly just write for Sterek now, though I have written a Steter and a... uh, Chris/Stiles drabble. I’ve written for Destiel and Wincest in the Supernatural fandom in the past. I kiiiiinda want to write for Stucky in MCU (or my newest obsession, WinterHawk), or possibly even Drarry in the Harry Potter fandom? But, they make me nervous, so, I’m not sure if I actually will ever write for them or not :P
Where You Post: tumblr and AO3
Most Popular One-Shot: ummm, if we are going by kudos on AO3, that would be ‘Morning After’, a Sterek fic about, well, the morning after they first get together :P
Most Popular Multi-Chapter Story: Uh. Well. I’ve only written one multi-chaptered fic, and it’s a WIP that hasn’t been touched in years. I’m not gonna link it because I’m still debating on either deleting it, or eventually finishing it because I feel guilty about it, but, I have no desire to finish it at the moment :P But I also don’t really want to delete it, so, I’m not sure what to do. So by default, I guess it’d be that one that is the most popular.
Favourite Story You Wrote: Um, hm, I really, really like The Treehouse. But I also really like Let’s Get Hitched because it has Asexual Derek in it :P But, at the same time, I will always, always have a soft spot for Baby Girl in the Supernatural fandom (Destiel, a/b/o)
Story You Were Nervous to Post: There are two that I was extremely nervous to post. The first was my first ever Sterek, Fourteen Days. It was scary because I had just kinda switched fandoms and I wasn’t sure how things would be in a new fandom.
The second was the one I linked in the question above, Let’s Get Hitched. I was nervous about that because it had Asexual Derek in it, and even though I am ace myself, I was nervous about writing an asexual character in a fic that was longer than a drabble.
How Do You Pick Your Titles: Oh, it’s easy! I just whine and complain and pout to @smowkie about the dreaded title line on AO3 until something finally pops into my head :P
Do You Outline: It depends. I have a couple of longer WIPs I have been working on for a long time, and they have rough outlines for them. But mostly, if I’m just writing a short one shot, I have a small idea in my head on a couple scenes and I just write until I can connect them all
How Many Of Your Stories Are Complete: All of the fics I have written and posted to AO3 are complete, except for the one random WIP that I mentioned above. There’s also another WIP to my name on AO3, a vampire!Destiel fic that I am co-authoring with my friend @the-dangerous-ginger, but, since I’m not the one actually doing the writing for it, I generally don’t count that as actual writing by me for these types of questions :P
In-Progress: Oh geeze, I have quite a few. Um, the Fairy Tale AU, the photographer!Stiles fic, a dragon!Stiles fic, a wrong number with magic user!stiles, another one I just started today. I’d like to write a teacher!Derek fic at some point, but, I haven’t actually started that one, so, I guess it doesn’t count :P
Coming Soon: Probably the one I started today. It will probably be pretty short, and I might be able to finish it today or tomorrow. Or later in the week. Or, well, knowing my writing lately... next year :P
Do You Accept Prompts: Sometimes, yes, but I will post them on my tumblr and ask for them that way. I tend to get overwhelmed if I get too many prompts, so, I don’t reblog them often :P
Upcoming Story You’re the Most Excited For: If I can ever get it written, it’s either my Fairy Tale AU or my photographer!Stiles fic. They both deal with Derek kinda “stuck” in his wolf form
I’m gonna tag... @sterekshaven ( I know you were tagged, but, you haven’t answered it yet I don’t think, so, I’m tagging you, too :P), @compo67, @xx-thedarklord-xx and anyone else who would like to participate! Just claim a tag by me and @ me back so I can read! And like always, don’t feel like you have to do these if I tag you in them!

Unchained Melody: An OQ Fic
Tumblr media
Summary: Regina is dragged to a psychic by her friend, where it's told she'll end up with a man with the lion tattoo. She thinks it's bull...until her jog goes awry.
My Love From OQ gift to JcmylsKatia! Happy Valentine's Day everyone. A playlist for this fic.
Also on AO3
“And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it.”-Roald Dahl
Fairytale Visions was at the very end of Main Street. It was so far off that some people didn’t really count it as part of the strip, Regina certainly didn’t. She had only looked at the shop once since she moved to town and from the sign, she first assumed it to be an eye doctor. Then she caught wind of the neon signs in the windows. One read “Tarot Cards” while the other proudly proclaimed that it was a psychic shop. There were green felt curtain pulled down, so one couldn’t see inside. The only way one could tell if it was open or not, was the sign that hung above the door.
Regina didn’t believe in psychics. She had grown up in New York City, where they were on almost ever corner, same as Starbucks. Her mother had always turned her nose up at them.
“They can’t tell your future,” Cora Mills told her daughter when she was barely old enough to read the signs. “Only you can build it.”
That was the philosophy Regina had stuck with for a majority of her life. She got good grades in school and did lots of volunteer work, which opened the doors to a scholarship at Columbia University. Lots of hard work and dedication gave her a degree in business and marketing. She worked her butt off as the assistant to Raymond Gold, who owned a successful chain of jewelry stores scattered throughout the United States. It was all of that, that landed her on the marketing team of a boutique that ran out of the small town in Maine.
Yes, Regina hadn’t gotten her life by magic. She had built herself up and was proud of that. The only thing missing in her life, was a partner. She had a fiancé, a man she loved, but he had passed away not long after he proposed. It had crushed her heart, but it had also been ten years since and she was ready to move on. There had been several relationships in New York, but they all failed. She had done the dating app thing for a few months, but after the second Catfish, she deleted all of those.
All of that was how she found herself being dragged to Fairytale Visions by her new co-worker, Mary Margaret Blanchard. Mary Margaret talked a lot, was very bubbly and always had a smile on her face-even when their hard ass boss was yelling at them. She was nothing like the people Regina knew in New York and that made her intriguing. They had been having lunch together ever since Regina started out at the company. That slowly lead to drinks after work and a few girls’ nights. Regina was starting to consider her a friend.
Until Mary Margaret insisted they had a physic tell them their futures.
“This is stupid,” Regina grumbled as they climbed out of the car. “She’s probably a huge scam artist.”
“Maybe she is, or maybe she’ll tell us who we’ll end up with, what our futures will be like.” Mary Margaret clasped her hands together, a dreamy look on her face.
“We decide our own destiny,” Regina said, a little scared of how much she sounded like Cora in that moment.
“Maybe so, but this will be fun. Come on, Regina. I told you I’m paying for it.”
“That’s the only reason I decided to come along,” she grumbled.
Mary Margaret chuckled, linking arms with her. “Let’s go in.”
A little bell dinged as they stepped inside, the smell of incense filled Regina’s nostrils. She was mid-sneeze when a short blonde approached them.
“Bless you,” she said, her British accent thick.
Regina nodded, sniffling a bit. “Thanks.” She took the woman in. A dress that matched both the fabric and the color of the drapes clung tightly to her body and her frizzy hair was pulled back into a bun with a matching green kerchief.
“I’m Regina, that’s Mary Margaret,” she gestured to her co-worker.
“Tink,” the woman replied.
Regina tilted her head. “Tink? Like…”
“We’re not here to learn about me,” Tink interrupted with a wave of the hand. “What are you two here for today? Palm reading? Tea leaves?”
“Just regular readings,” Mary Margaret said, cheerily.
“Great. That’ll be $120 each.”
Regina glanced over at Mary Margaret, who was happily handing over her credit card to the woman they just met. Money wasn’t an issue for her, but she could think of many other things Mary Margaret could buy with that a hundred dollars. For one, there was a really great shoe sale at the local mall…
Tink ran through their payments and then clasped her hands together. “Alright, who will go first?”
“Regina,” Mary Margaret said.
“Oh, no. You’re the one that wanted to come here.”
“I can wait.”
Regina rolled her eyes, but followed Tink through the beaded curtains that lead to her back room. There was a card table set up, with a large bureau pushed against the wall that had at least a hundred drawers. Each was labeled with things like “crystals” or “cards”. There was no crystal ball or any of the typical movie cliché things that Regina had grown to expect. Even so, she still wasn’t buying it.
“You think I’m a crock,” Tink said, as they settled down at the table.
“Gee, you read minds or something?”
“Your energy makes it obvious.”
“Look, I grew up in New York. You people are a dime a dozen, just looking for a quick buck. There’s no such thing as predicting the future, you have to build it on your own.”
“Wouldn’t it be helpful to know what you’re building towards?”
“Whatever you say.”
“You have to believe, even a little bit or you wouldn’t be here.”
Regina didn’t respond and Tink smiled, before shutting her eyes.
“You’ve got a lot of success headed your way.”
“Yeah, because that’s not vague at all,” Regina mumbled.
Tink ignored her, rolling forward as if she hadn’t even spoke. “You’re not going to be alone, though. There will be someone by your side, a man.”
“The odds of marriage in this country are exceptionally high.”
Once again, her snarky remarks fell on deaf ears. “The man will be a challenge for you. You wo are so different, yet you’ll be able to match him snark for snark. Sandy blonde hair, dimples and blue eyes, they’re so handsome. I see him standing by your side, wearing a suit.”
“Let me guess, at our wedding?”
“No, I can’t tell the exact occasion, but you are definitely not wearing white. He’s a bit warm, so he rolls up his sleeve and reveals…oh, he has a lion tattoo.”
Regina cocked an eyebrow. “A lion tattoo?” That was less random. At the same time, Tink could be pulling crap out of her ass.
“Yes, it’s a silhouette, penned in black ink, on his forearm. A bit faded, so he’s clearly had it for a while.”
Her words left Regina with a warm feeling in her stomach, until she shook it off. This was just for fun. What were the odds that the man she would one day marry have such a tattoo?
Robin sat in the parlor, the sketch gripped firmly in his hands. He had always been put off by the idea of getting one, but he knew that the page wouldn’t stay preserved for long. He was lucky that in between his move across the pond, it didn’t get wrinkled. Somehow, this picture had survived a lot. First, the rainstorm the night after Marian drew it for him. Next, it somehow escaped the fire that took her life. He had it in his bag when he took his citizenship test and passed with flying colors.
He didn’t believe in luck, that was silly. A lion stood for bravery and that was what Robin felt whenever he looked at the picture. He was reminded of the man that Marian had wanted him to be. It was the man that he wanted himself to be. After years of not knowing what he wanted to do with his life, there had only ever been one thing that remained the same: he wanted to be brave, daring. Marian had always joked that he was a lionheart. Sometimes, she’d even call him Richard instead of Robin.
That was going to be what they named their son, had they ever gotten the chance.
“Are you sure you want to do this?” Killian asked from his spot beside Robin. “It’s gonna hurt. Especially where you want it.”
Robin gestured to Killian’s own forearm tattoo. The two had met in a grief group and the first thing Robin had noticed about his friend, was heart with the dagger through it that contained Milah’s name. “You would know.”
“Aye, and I don’t regret mine. When I look at it, she feels closer to me.”
“Well, this is going to help me feel closer to Marian. She drew this for me.”
“You could just get her name.”
“Marian hated those. She always said, what if you met someone else?”
“If I meet someone that can’t accept Milah, then I don’t want her around.”
“Well, this is what Marian would’ve wanted. More importantly, it’s what I want.”
“So long as your sure. These things are a lifetime commitment and they hurt like a motherfucker.”
“I’m sure. Trust me.”
The owner of the shop, August, followed his previous customer out the back. He turned to Killian, a smile on his face. He had done all of his tattoos, from the Milah one to the anchor on his abs.
“So, what are we doing today?” He asked.
“It’s not for me,” Killian replied. “My buddy Robin, here.”
Robin stood up, extending the paper to August. “Think you could do something like this?”
August studied it for a moment. “Where would you want it?”
“My forearm.”
“I’d have to shrink the image a bit, but then I’d be able to trace it.”
A smile fell over Robin’s face. “That’d be awesome.”
He returned the following day with Killian. His sleeve was rolled up and extended, ready to be inked. The sketch being copied onto his arm was the easy part, but soon a whirling sound filled his ears. Killian wasn’t lying, the needle hurt. The shading was especially painful, but he bit his lip and fought his way through it. Robin did his best to not look at his arm, the only signs of how much he had left was based off of Killian or August’s comments. He focused on the sheet of designs August posted on the wall for people to choose from if they didn’t have a basic idea. Two stuck out in particular, one being a crown and the other an apple. He wasn’t sure why, but he couldn’t break his eyes away.
Finally, the needle turned off and he slipped his eyes down. It was a bit swollen and bruised, but there it was. The lion wasn’t even looking up at him, he looked like he was ready to attack. Robin smiled, wanting to touch it, but knowing better.
“Ya know, they say lions are a sign of bravery,” August quipped.
“Yeah,” Robin said, the smile not leaving his face. “I’m aware.”
Fall turned to winter and soon that became spring. Regina was starting to forget all about Tink’s words. She hadn’t taken them seriously to begin with, but it was hard to not think about it when Mary Margaret kept going on and on about her own reading. Tink had told her that she would meet a farmer with golden locks. Regina wasn’t even sure if Storybrooke even had any farms, so she doubted that would happen. In time, it seemed that Mary Margaret had even forgotten Tink’s words or had realized that Tink was full of crap. Finally, their conversations could return to work and reality.
Until Mary Margaret actually met a man named David in the spring. He had blonde hair, blue eyes and had grown up on a farm upstate, though he was now the town sheriff. Mary Margaret gloated the entire time to Regina, who just rolled her eyes.
“It has to be a coincidence. Besides, she said you’d meet a farmer. Not a kid that grew up on a farm once,” she pointed out.
“You’re just jealous because your man hasn’t shown up yet. Who’d Tink say you’d end up with anyway?”
“Don’t worry about it.”
She knew that if she told Mary Margaret, she’d do her best to play matchmaker. The last thing Regina needed was her best friend getting arrested for tracking down every man with a lion tattoo. Though, she supposed Mary Margaret’s new sheriff boyfriend would let her free for a few kisses.
As spring was slowly melting into summer, Regina started to take up running again. Storybrooke was a little Hamlet, which meant there wasn’t much in the way of healthy eating. Her assistant often made Granny’s runs for her and it was showing in her midsection. She chose to take the path that went through the forest by her home. She didn’t have time in the mornings before work, so she chose to go in the afternoon. It was cooler by then anyway and she could get away with wearing a t-shirt and leggings, rather than her usual tank.
One late Wednesday afternoon, she jogged down her usual path. The only sounds were those of the birds that chirped in the trees. Soon the crickets and the fireflies would be out, but she liked that about Storybrooke. In Manhattan, her jogging options had been limited to running around Central Park. There were way too many people there. It seemed like no one knew about her secret spot.
That was until she felt something whizzing past her head. She ducked down, but in the process tripped over a rock she hadn’t noticed. Tumbling to the ground, she cursed herself, taking hold of her knee. Her mind only focused on the pain for a moment, until she heard a British accent.
 “Milady?”
She slowly looked up and found an arm outreached to her. A tall man with dirty blonde hair and blue eyes stood before her, wearing a light sweatshirt and beat up jeans. Over his other shoulder was a bag filled with bows and arrows. Regina turned to look at the tree and saw an arrow sticking out from it. That must have been his doing.
“You’re injured,” the mystery man continued when she didn’t speak, gesturing to the small amount of blood that could be seen through her white leggings.
“Well, that’d be your fault,” Regina grumbled. “And I’m fine.”
“A simple thank you would suffice.”
Regina rolled her eyes, but allowed the man to help her up.
“What the hell were you doing out here anyway?” She asked.
“I didn’t realize this wasn’t a public forest.”
Regina felt her eyes rolling once again. “I meant tossing arrows.”
“It’s called archery, my favorite pastime.”
“Especially when you try to kill joggers?”
“I didn’t realize you were coming. Besides, I have good aim. If I was trying to take your head off, you’d be dead by now.”
Regina crossed her arms over her chest, not sure why she had to fight off a smile. “I run every day after work and I’ve never seen you.”
“Normally I shoot when there’s better sun, but I got called into work.” His eyes floated back down to her knee. “Really, you should let me look at that.”
“Right, I trust the mysterious man with a bow.”
“What if I told you that I’m also a nurse at the pediatric office?” The man smiled, flashing her some dimples. “The name’s Robin.” He unzipped his sweatshirt a bit, revealing that he was wearing scrubs with little cartoon foxes beneath it. “I live close by.”
Regina bit her lip, unsure of what to do. Just because he was a nurse, didn’t make him not a serial killer. He had nearly killed her after all. Yet, there was something about him. Regina was good at reading people and he didn’t seem like much of a threat.
“Fine,” she said. “Just…don’t get in my way next time.”
“I wouldn’t dream of it.”
This time, Regina couldn’t help it, she was smiling. Limping a bit due to the pain, she followed Robin back to his cottage which was near the opposite clearing that she had come from. He helped her sit on the couch before leaving the room and returning a few moments later with a first aid kit. Slowly, he rolled up the pant leg and inspected the cut.
“Nothing major, won’t require stitches, just a bandage.”
“I figured.”
Robin grabbed hold of some wipes. “I’ve washed my hands, don’t worry. This may sting just a bit,” he warned, before cleaning the blood off her knee. She hissed a bit, but he pressed on. Reaching into his kit once more, he produced a bandage.
“Plain brown? I was expecting rainbows or unicorns.”
Robin chuckled. “Those I leave at work. I have this mostly for when my friend gets injured and he’s not exactly the unicorn type.” He pressed the bandage on. “There, all better.”
“Thank you.” Regina gave him a sincere smile. “I mean it, If I had walked all the way back to my house, I’d be in even more pain.”
“Yeah, you might want to rest that for a while. Let me fetch you some aspirin. You’re not allergic to anything are you?”
“Nope.”
Robin disappeared, coming back with the two white pills and a small cup of water as promised. Regina downed it and he sat beside her.
“I can’t believe you’d let me into your home,” Regina teased. “I could’ve been an evil killer.”
“I’m pretty good at reading people and I didn’t pick up on evil. Bold and audacious perhaps, but not evil.”
Regina smirked. “Fear is quite an effective tool, it’s served me well in the past.”
Robin stared at her for a moment and she couldn’t believe she felt the warm feeling come to her stomach. She hadn’t realized just how handsome he was, up until that moment. How could she be feeling this way about a man she just met? Much less one that smelled of forest and  could’ve killed her if his aim hadn’t been as good.
“I would like to make this up to you, truly,” Robin said, after a few beats of silence.
“You nursed me back to health.”
“Even so. I have a feeling whisky might make up for it. Not today, obviously, as I’ve just given you some medicine…but maybe some other time.”
“Are you asking me out?” Regina asked, raising an eyebrow.
“If I were, what would you say?”
“That you’re crazy…but, also yes.”
Regina found herself outside The Rabbit Hole the following day after work. She had to rush to meet Robin, so she was still in her black dress that she had worn to woo some clients. Her usual grey jacket had been paired with it, so for some color she threw on a blue scarf she had found in her car. She watched as a brown truck parked behind her Mercedes and Robin stepped out. He wore a green long sleeved t-shirt and once again, some beat up jeans. She felt terribly overdressed, suddenly.
Robin walked over, his dimples showing when he smiled. “You look beautiful,” he said. “How’s the knee?”
“Much better. I was able to stand at my meeting today with no problems.”
He looked down at her shoes and chuckled. “In heels no less. Brave woman.”
“You could say that.”
“Ready for our drink?”
“Oh, yes.”
She followed him into the bar, which was quiet given that it was only six o’clock. The daytime drunks had stumbled home to their wives and the partiers wouldn’t come out until nine at the earliest. They ordered some appetizers to go with their drinks, before being left alone to wait in silence.
“So, you said you had a meeting?” Robin asked. “What is it that you do?”
“I’m in marketing for Glass Slipper Boutiques.”
“Upscale place, some of the richer patients shop there.”
“It’s not really my style, but it’s a great company for the most part. The boss can be a bit harsh at times, but is that any different?”
“Mine is a total sleaze.” Robin rolled his eyes. “Always hitting on the moms, makes inappropriate jokes around the kids.”
“Yet he still has a practice?”
“One of the few pediatricians in Storybrooke.”
“Pitfall of a small town.”
“Did you grow up here?”
“No, New York City. You’re from England, I suppose.”
“Southport to be specific.”
“When’d you move to the states?”
“Four years ago, after my wife passed.”
Regina frowned. “I’m so sorry.”
“It’s fine. Like I said, it’s been four years.”
“I lost my fiancé as well, not long after he proposed.”
“The pain never goes away, huh?”
“Not really.”
The bartender returned, placing the drinks down and promising their appetizers would be out soon. Robin picked up one of the glasses, extending it to Regina.
“To new beginnings.”
Regina went to take it, when she realized that his sleeve had rode up a bit which revealed a tattoo on his forearm. More specifically, a lion tattoo.
“Oh, he has a lion tattoo.”
It was the first time that Regina had thought about the physic in weeks and yet, there it was. Her eyes stayed trained on it, as her heart picked up. No, this didn’t make any sense. She had gone to appease Mary Margaret, that was all. Tink was a crock, nothing she said was accurate…right?
Except there were other things she had said as well.
“The man will be a challenge for you. You wo are so different, yet you’ll be able to match him snark for snark. Sandy blonde hair, dimples and blue eyes, they’re so handsome.”
Robin matched the physical description and for the whole 24 hours she had known him, half of their conversation had been based on wit.
No, no, this couldn’t be happening. Had Mary Margaret gone back to Tink and pressed her for information? This had to be a set-up of some kind. Yet, Robin seemed equally as surprised by their meeting as she had. Could it all really be a coincidence?
“Are you alright?” Robin’s words snapped her out of it and she looked up into his concerned gaze. “It’s just alcohol, it’s not going to bite.”
Regina carefully accepted it, taking a large sip. She sure as hell was going to need it.
Regina was hesitant to continue the relationship with Robin, yet somehow found herself unable to stay away. They set up dates when they could, varying from going back to the bar to even venturing out of town so she could eat something else besides Granny’s. By fall, they were popping into each other’s work to surprise their partner for lunch. Robin even met Mary Margaret and David, the former of which was clearly surprised by the situation. Regina then knew that her friend had nothing to do with it. Mary Margaret couldn’t keep a secret to save her life and if this had truly been her handywork, she would’ve been bragging for days.
Still, Regina wondered how it was possible. Was it really a coincide? How many men like Robin were out there? In the time between seeing Tink and meeting him, she had come across tons of blondes, but none with the distinctive tattoo.
She found herself falling more for him by the day. Things progressed so quickly, that he came down to New York with her for Christmas so he could meet her parents. Cora was standoffish, as usual, but Henry welcomed him with open arms. While there, Cora invited them to attend a winter gala at her work. Regina had told Robin they didn’t have to go, but he insisted that they would have fun.
The night of the gala, Regina put on the red dress that her old college roommate Belle had selected for her. Her husband would be attending and Belle had found a beautiful emerald dress to wear. She assured Regina it’d be like their sorority days, wearing matching things to parties. So, Regina had agreed and told her to just get whatever she was getting in a different color.
The dress was red, with sequins on the neckline, sleeves and belt around the waist. She had to admit, the dress looked nice. Next to Belle it’d look like they were purposefully trying to meet the Christmas theme, but she didn’t care. For the first time since Daniel, she had a date she actually wanted at her mother’s gala.
Cora insisted on making an entrance with her daughter, so she had the boys go first and they met them there. Regina watched as her mother headed down the steps, all eyes on her out of fear rather than her beauty. Once she had reached the bottom, Regina walked down and found her eyes solely on Robin. The way he looked at her, she hadn’t had a man look at her in such a way in such a long time.
She got to the bottom and kissed her father’s cheek before turning to Robin, who pulled her into his arms for a quick kiss.
 “You look radiant,” he whispered.
“As do you.”
She took her place by his side so Cora could make her speech. As her mother spoke, Robin rolled up his sleeves a tad, revealing the tattoo. That was the first time Regina considered telling him about Tink.
After their holiday in Manhattan, Regina and Robin were clearly reaching the next level of their relationship. They were 8 months in and she could feel “I love you” on the tip of her tongue. It was real, all of it. Whether Tink had been right or just guessing, she had found the man she wanted to spend the rest of her life with.
They had agreed on an indoor fireside picnic at her house for Valentine’s Day. Regina was looking through the wine selections at the store, when she heard a familiar voice.
“I remember you.” Regina turned to find Tink standing there. For a small town, she had somehow not seen her since the day of her reading. “You were the skeptic.”
Regina laughed. “Hard to believe I’m the only one.”
“You just have one of those faces. Besides, I ran into your friend the other day and she couldn’t stop thanking me. Guess I was right about her. Was I with you?”
Regina paused, wondering if she should give Tink credit. After all, it could just be a coincidence. “I’ve met someone, yes.”
“And does he have a lion tattoo.”
There was a beat of silence. “Yes, he does.”
Tink grinned. “Well, guess I’m not a crock after all.”
“Be straight with me,” Regina said. “Can you really see the future?”
“What do you think?”
“The readings you gave us were so vague and yet…they actually happened. Still, it could all boil down in coincidence.”
“Nothing in life is a coincidence, my darling. You can believe what you want, but from the look in your eye, you’ve found a soulmate.”
“I never…”
“You were right about one thing, though. We’re all responsible for our own futures. Sure, I told you what would happen in your own, but it is up to the two of you make it last.”
“That still doesn’t answer my question. Are you real?”
“Now if I told you…would I really stay in business for long?”
Before Regina could respond, Tink walked away. Regina stared after her, unsure of what she believed…when it came to the mysterious woman’s abilities that was. Tink was right. Whether or not she really could see the future, Regina still had to do the work.
That night, she sat by the fireplace with Robin, their picnic assembled. The two clinked their wine glasses before taking sips and sharing a kiss. She cupped his cheeks as they pulled away, staring into his eyes for the millionth time that evening.
 “What is it?” He asked.
“I just never thought I’d have this,” she answered, truthfully, pulling her hands away.
“After I lost my wife, I felt like that for a long time. When I finally realized she wasn’t coming back, however, I was able to let go. Now, I have you.” He stroked her cheek.
Regina nodded, chewing on her bottom lip. “Do you believe in fate?”
“What do you mean?”
“Just what I said. Do you believe that we all have soulmates out there, waiting for us? That some people are able to tell that?”
Robin tilted his head. “Are you asking if I believe in physics?”
“Yes.”
“Well…I believe that there are people out there that want to scam others and prey on the weak, the desperate. But I also like to think that it’s possible, that there are those that could help guide those to who they belong to. Why do you ask?”
Regina let out a deep breath. It had been over a year since she met Tink and outside Mary Margaret, she had spoken of it with no one. Heck, even her friend didn’t know what the psychic had told her.
“Months before I met you, Mary Margaret dragged me to a psychic. I didn’t believe in it, but she was so insistent. There, the woman, Tink…she told me it was possible. She told me I’d love again. She read my future and she told me…about this man I was destined to be with.”
A smile tugged on Regina’s lips, thinking back to how impossible it all seemed back then.
“She told me that he was tall, blonde with blue eyes. That he could match my snark and most of all, he had a tattoo.” She grabbed hold of his arm and pushed up his sweater. “A lion tattoo.”
Robin looked from it, back up at her, a bit surprised. “It was me?”
“I never saw anything she did, but yes. I do believe she saw you.” The smile slowly left her face as a bit of nervousness came to it, scared he would run out screaming. “I didn’t seek you out, because I didn’t think it was real. Hell, I’m still not sure.”
There was a beat of silence, which only added to Regina’s growing anxiety. She sounded like a crazy person, she was sure of it. Slowly, a smile formed on Robin’s face. Much to Regina’s relief, he didn’t look like he thought she was crazy for possibly believing Tink. “
“Well, maybe things work out when they’re supposed to,” he said. His hand cupped her cheek once more, pushing some hair out of the way. “Maybe it’s all about timing.”
“You don’t think I sound crazy?”
“I don’t know if I believe this Tink or not. What I do know, is that what I’ve felt with you these past 8 months is very real, Regina. So, whether we’re soulmates or not…I know that I love you.”
Regina smiled. “I love you too.”
She leaned in and kissed him. It lingered for a long while, until they had to pull away for air.
“Did this woman say anything about having sex by the fire?” Robin murmured into her ear.
Regina laughed. “No, but I do know that life is all about making your own fate.”

questions for ao3 writers
tagged by @meimagino, thank you dsgsfa !! <3 <3
Tagging: @kumikirin and @rayraywrites ! i don’t actually know a lot of ao3 writers SO PLEASE DO THIS AND TAG ME? <3 i’ve LOVED reading other people doing this tag and it’s so exciting to know more abt your stuff so please please if u use ao3 and wanna do this, please let me know! <3
1. How did you come up with your username and what does it mean?
my username is seaworn. i didn’t want my ao3 username to be the same as my tumblr url because my tumblr url is pretty much always associated with a certain fandom and i didn’t want that because i had a feeling that i’m going to write something for different fandoms. seaworn is a word i came across in one of nightwish’s lyrics, “sea-worn driftwood”. i just thought that was nice, and everything sea-related is really close to my heart.
2. Which fanfic of yours has the most feedback? (bookmarks/subscriptions/hits/kudos)
fingers crossed my obsession with you is tameable has most hits, kudos and bookmarks, but my heart’s a stereo (it beats for you so listen close) has most subscriptions (because it’s an ongoing series).
3. What is your AO3 profile icon, and why did you choose it?
it’s a picture of some random boy who i think looks a lot like my favourite trainwreck boy harry and i wanted it lmao
4. Do you have any regular/favourite commenters?
i get really warm and giddy if someone i know comments something on my fics because it means the world to me that my friends read my shit asdgdfs. but i also get warm and giddy and excited when i get any kinds of comments!! <3 i appreciate every single comment i get and i sometimes cry when i get an email notification about a comment someone left me asfsg <3 i notice a few “regulars” that always comment of my stories when i publish something new and i LOVE them and it means the world to me that someone has subscribed to me/checks out my page to see whether i’ve published smth new. but i ALSO love people who just leave kudos bc seeing that someone has actually read my stuff? amazing. i love every single one of you so much. i go through my comments and my kudos/hits whenever i’m feeling down/insecure and they give me so much confidence and make me feel better about everything
5. Is there a fanfic that you keep going back to read again and again?
oh yeah, i have plenty!! i mean, i have over 500 bookmarks and i go through them a lot to read many of my old favourites. i’m going to list a few i could remember without actually browsing through my bookmarks! :) they’re mostly drarry because i’m super into that again. also i really wanna scream about all of these but i’m just gonna link them and let them speak for themselves sdgdfsg
Twingenuity by Caeseria. Viktuuri, explicit, 160k. summary: “Victor arrives in Hasetsu, completely unaware that Yuuri has an identical, overly affectionate, twin brother. The resulting temptation might actually kill him before he gets Yuuri to the GPF like he promised.”
Coffee, Cakes And Doorknob Snakes by Omi_Ohmy. drarry, explicit, 40k. summary: “Harry's house is trying to kill him, and only one person can help him: pity it's Draco Malfoy”
Eternally Consistent by kitsunealyc. drarry, explicit, 40k. summary: “Draco Malfoy and Harry Potter assumed they would never be anything but civil enemies, until Potter lands on Malfoy's doorstep, bleeding, covered in curses, and acting very strangely indeed.”
Reparations by Saras_Girl. drarry, explicit, 87k. summary: “Harry is about to discover that the steepest learning curve comes after Healer training, and that second chances can be found in unexpected places.”
Winter Song by proantagonist. viktuuri, explicit, 149k. summary: “The set of Yuuri’s mouth softened into a private smile as Victor squeezed his knee beneath the table. His hands were bare, free from the gloves he so often wore when they were together on the rink, and the heat of his palm burned straight through the denim of Yuuri’s jeans. He slipped his own hand beneath the table and found Victor’s. Hidden from sight, their fingers began to flirt and play. A secret conversation all their own that needed no words.
Yuuri was aware that at some point—a moment in time he couldn’t quite place—Victor had become his boyfriend.
There wasn’t a single instant when it happened. It was a slow awareness, as if Victor had silently been asking the question for months now, and Yuuri had been giving him the answer a little more with each passing day.”
i’d love to link everything i like but aSFASD!! just believe me when i say that with 500 bookmarks and having lots of writer friends in tumblr, i read a LOT of the same fics over and over and over again. the ones i mentioned just now are all longer stories i fell in love with because it took me days and maybe even weeks to read them and it’s like i’d found a whole new universe?? you can def ask me for fic recs because all i do is read fics but i found it really hard to just pick a few so i decided to pick just a few longer ones for this question!! but ask me for my favourite coffee shop aus? do it. favourit otayuri fics? ya please. fav modern au captive prince fics? you really should.
6. How many stories are you subscribed to? How many do you have bookmarked?
i can’t see the number of my subscriptions anywhere? but i get maybe 3-10 email notifications every day about an updated work so i guess it’s a lot. i have a little over 500 bookmarks! :))
7. Which AU do you find yourself writing the most?
hmm, i maybe haven’t written enough to have, like, a special au i enjoy writing? but i DO think about coffee shop au’s and writing them a lot so i guess it’s that asfdsf. i just really really love coffee shops??
8. How many people are subscribed and bookmarked to you in total? (you can view this on the stats page)
274 subscriptions and 704 bookmarks holy sHIT hey i love every single one of you??
9. Is there something you’d like to write about but are afraid of people judging you for it? (Feeling brave? If so, share it!)
i have a bunch of really, really sad and depressing headcanons i would love to write but i’m probably never gonna? like, lots of things about eating disorders and cutting and someone getting injured or cheated on, someone losing an important person or having to give up on their dreams, etc. lots of sad characters trying to be brave on their own and slowly fading away :’’)) i don’t want to write then because i haven’t come up with any good endings for those and i DON’T want to write stuff with no happy ending, so. i just really think i need to get out all kinds of crap rn and writing them would make me feel better but i think i’m too involved to actually write something worth reading? i fear that if i wrote smth i’ve headcanoned, it would end up being super immature and illogical. idk. my point it that i’m afraid to write really self-indulgent, depressing angst sadgsghdf
10. Is there anything you would like to be better at? Writing certain scenes or genres, replying to comments, updating better, etc.
i would love to be a little more consistent in writing. my concentration is bad and often i can’t get into the flow when i’m working on something. usually i add something to a wip every few days, then one day i write 1000 words and then continue editing sentences here and there, jumping from scene to scene, deleting smth and then adding 57 words. like...i often feel like i can’t get into the scene i’m writing and it feels like i’m watching it on the outside instead of being the writer? whenever i can focus properly i get solid, consistent, meaningful writing done, but honestly 80% of me doing anything is messing around and i have to do A LOT of damage control before everything is finished?
this is related to what i just described but i’d also love to be able to write chronologically because i feel it makes the story and the journey more real when i’m actually working through what my characters are feeling/experiencing throughout the story? instead of writing an exciting plot thing A and an exciting plot thing number B and then later writing the boring parts inbetween.
i have a lot of problems with plots in general - i feel it’s easier for me to write 2 k about, like, yuuri making tea in the morning, than writing 2k about someone walking to the store and buying milk. i’m better at describing moments and feelings than concrete plot points or someone dojng something? idk.
11. Do you write rarepairs or popular ships more often?
popular ships. i mean, i might read rarepairs but i usually have one or two otp’s from each fandom i write about. i’d love to write about chrisabek one day though sgdfg.
12. How many stories have you posted on AO3 to this day (finished and unfinished)?
18 ???? what how when has this happened?? .  13 of those are yoi and the rest either drarry or johnlock.
13. How many stories do you have saved in/with your writing program?
18 published works and about....25-30 unfinished things? some over 10k words, some less than 500. also but i wrote A LOT of original shit when i was like 16-18 so if i count those in the number would be about 100 probably
14. Do you write down story ideas, or just keep them in your head?
i write them down potential ideas, but i have a lot of headcanons i don’t write down because i don’t think i have the ability to write them. but most of my ideas go to google docs/notes.
15. Have you ever co-authored a story?
yeah, i actually have one wip going on with someone :) it’s unfinished but maybe we’ll finish it one day? it’s drarry and super sweet.
16. How did you discover AO3?
i really can’t remember? i wish i could? but it probably in 2012 when i got into the sherlock fandom.
17. Do you consider yourself to be a popular or famous author in your fandom(s) on AO3?
i don’t think so omg, but i’m really glad people read my stuff! but i’m definitely more known in the yoi fandom than the others i’m in bc my drarry/johnlock fics get like 5 comments, max, whereas i can get 20 comments to my yuri on ice stuff! :) it’s really nice that people read my stuff fhdh
18. Do you have a nickname or fandom name for your readers?
omfg no but everyone who reads my stuff is an actual Angel
19. Was there an author who inspired or encouraged you to write?
yeah, a lot! a lot of original fiction authors & a lot of fanfiction authors! whenever i read a good text i’m like “wow, this is awesome, i wish i could write this well” and that always gives me a huge boost. the support of my friends is really encouraging and inspiring, too.
20. What writing advice would you give to a beginning author?
the “i will be a stronger writer after i finish this piece” is REALLY good advice, because...not everything you write will be the best you’ve done and you maybe feel like your writing has some flaws or something. but you know what? even if it’s not perfect, you’re a lot more experienced writer when you’ve done it. i do the “it’s gonna be shit anyway so i’m not gonna write it” thing quite often but then i have to remind myself that every single word i write gets me closer to being better, so i plunder through. and when i get finished with something, i usually think “well, this is not my strongest work but i’m glad i did it” and!!!! that’s really it!! i took part in otayuri reverse bang this spring and god i wanted to give up so so many times and i wrote lots of plots for it because i didn’t like ANYTHING i did. but i got through it, and while i think that the two stories i did for it are the worst i’ve written, it’s still 18 000 words more than i would have written if i hadn’t participated :) be your own biggest supporter & give yourself time to practise & be super proud and happy about what you’ve achieved so far!! <3 you wrote 10 words today? THAT’S 10 WORDS MORE THAN IT WAS BEFORE. you had a huge writer’s block so instead of writing you just wrote down some plot point you wanna write later? YOU PLANNED SOMETHING. you couldn’t even plan, you just opened your computer and gave up? YOU TRIED AND RESPECTED YOUR LIMITS TODAY AND THAT’S AMAZING.
21. Do you plot out your stories, or do you just figure it out as you go?
i usually plan big plot points but figure everything else out as i go? planning in actually one of my weaknesses and instead of making a plan and sticking to it, i just wait for inspiration and get as much done as i can before it goes away, lol.
22. Have you ever gotten a bad comment on a story? If so, what did you do?
not really :) everyone has been really sweet to me.
23. Is there a certain type of scene that you have a hard time writing? (action, smut, etc..)
action scenes are pretty hard? i think i’m better at writing dialogue and feelings than action or something dramatic happening. i’m working on it and i would love to get more edge to my writing!
24. What story(s) are you working on now?
i’m finishing the last part of my heart’s a radio (it beats for you so listen close). the chapter is what i intended to write in the first place (yuri and otabek seeing each other at world’s and getting it on in a hotel room) but then i just....needed to have 14 000 words of stuff before it, apparently.
i’m also working on a drarry fic that has been in my drafts for a long time. it’s about 8k and i think it’s going to be 10-13k, and that’s fine. it’s all about margaritas and blowjobs and being hungover, basically. it’s really fun to write lol.
and then i have this captive prince smut one shot that’s also like half-done. it’s really fluffy and sappy but still just smut.
aaaaalso i’m trying to finish the next chapter for my viktuuri dog sitter au fic now my heart stumbles on things i don’t know ! i’ve been procrastinating because i don’t really have a plot for it planned yet.
25. Do you plan your next project(s) before you finish your current ongoing story(s)?
i have too many ideas in my head constantly and that makes it reaally hard to focus on finishing something before jumping onto something else. that’s why i have tons of wips and no finished works, lmao.
26. Do you have a daily writing goal set for yourself?
not really. sometimes i try to push myself by setting goals, but in the end it really stresses me out because i’m usually away from home at least 9 hours every day and my work is really physical and tiring so asfsgas i really don’t have the strength to write every day. now my goal is to finish three fics before the year ends. they’re all oneshots that are maybe 80% done, so i should be able to do it.
27. Do you think you’ve improved as a writer since you first started?
i hope so but i really don’t know??
28. What is your favorite story that you’ve written?
hmm. it’se been really fun writing i am to see to it that i do not lose you series because i’ve gotten a LOT of positive feedback along the way! and i’m not done with the series - i have a chrisviktuuri smut oneshot planned in this universe, happening at the same time when yuri’s figuring out how to date™. it was the first part of the series that made me think that maybe people actually enjoy my stuff & that encouraged me to write more!
I also really liked writing a oneshot i hust posted yesterday - listen how, under the breastbone, the rhythm changes . i wrote my first yuri on ice fic about a year ago and i just really wanted to return to that moment and write smth sweet about viktor and yuuri. the story has no plot or anything, but it felt REALLY good to write bc i sort of want and need a lot of soft things right now!
also i’m having SO MUCH FUN with the drarry fic i haven’t posted yet, omg.
29. What is your least favorite story that you’ve written?
hmm. probably cautiously peering, absorbing, translating hey eve stop with the pretentious fic names  because it was basically my first multichapter fic and i feel like it fell apart a little? i had to write it in less than a month bc it was part of otayuri reversebang. i felt like the idea was good and that it didn’t reach its full potential? i have very mixed feelings about this fic. i haven’t been able to read it even once after i published it bc i’m so afraid of what i’ll find lmao
30. Where do you see yourself (as a writer) in 5 years?
hopefully my english is a lot better then, at least! i hope that i’ve started writing original fiction, really :)
31. What is the easiest thing about writing?
coming up with ideas!!! i don’t even use most of the ideas hat get in my head and i get lots of new ideas especially when i’m at work, out doing shopping, basically doing anything active??  but writing everything down, especially ideas you know will get 20-30k long once you start...damn.
32. What is the hardest thing about writing?
managing long stories? i haven’t written very many longer (like, over 10k?) stories and dgsgsg it’s just hard to make the plot interesting with lots of interesting cliffhangers, sad parts, etc? it’s hard to balance everything.
and yeah writing just in general is hard because it’s at least 80% writer’s block but having ideas flood your head and making it hard to focus on real life sfsg
33. Why do you write?
to express myself, i think? i still haven’t learn how to process my more uglier emotions through writing (it would be really helpful if i could) but i’m definitely writing about the kind of things i miss and would like to have for myself - someone being really happy, having lots of quiet mornings, being loved, maybe being a trainwreck but having something to cope through it, having a special connection with someone. idk. all kinds of things.
writing is fun and actually writing down the fics you’d want to read is super duper cool. i don’t get very much done in my life otherwise, so writing gives me the feeling of accomplishment i’m not getting anywhere else.
i’m not very good at expressing myself so writing definitely helps with that, too.
