Got Split in two by Stormbringer Cookie’s Heaven Splitter after War Hawk Cookie started pitting kingdoms and societies against each other for the heck of it, viewing Cookiekind as little more than playthings for his own amusement, he was abusing his godly powers and turning into a Tyrant. 

Builder Cookie was already trying to make War Hawk Cookie stop the shit he was doing before Stormbringer Cookie came in and Split War Hawk with little warning. 

The entire fight caused catastrophic damage to the surrounding area, destroying the terrain, causing fires, smashing mountains etc etc.

Skill  Your Hatred  Toxic Remnant Cookie winds up their swords before sending a massive slash towards the enemies, inflicting all enemies hit with poison then quickly following up with a second more powerful slash, the second slash shackling all enemies hit for some time. Both slashes Amplify Debuffs inflicted. 

Being a Vessel of Hate, they are much more likely to receive Debuffs while Buffs are significantly reduced if they don’t come from themselves, every Debuff applied to them is consumed and turned into a stack of Hatred, each stack of Hatred increases their ATK, DMG Resist, and ATK SPD for as long as the original Debuff lasts. 

All DMG done by their skill will bypasses a chunk of the DMG Resist enemies may have. If the enemy is Sword Master Cookie, the DMG Resist Bypass to Sword Master Cookie is increased. 

As long as Toxic Remnant Cookie is still active in battle, they will summon Moldy Cookies with their Corrupt Divinity if ally Cookies(minus summons) are defeated in battle.

glow up diaries no.3 - life update, december plans

Hello loves!!

Ahh it's so good to finally be posting here! I had such a crazy week I didn't have time to even plan any content here. Before we'll get to my plans for december and goals for the next week, here's a little life update:

I had my dancing debut! Last weekendI I attended my first show, and it was the first time in 7 years since I've been on a stage. I used to dance as a kid, but I quit after I turned 10. It was such a crazy weekend, but I was so grateful to be performing you wouldn't believe it. Cannot wait for the next show<3

Finished all my exams and officially started holidays. Friday I had my spanish exam, which was the last of my exams for my 3rd year of highschool (oops you can guess my age now). Nevertheless, I am glad it's over, I have a 6.0 GPA which is like a max in every subject, gotta love homeschooling. However there were some complications and I almost would have to finish in march, gladly I found an examiner just in time.

Lots of studying. Aside from passing my exams I studied a lot this week. Three days ago I took my test geography final, but to my surprise it wasn't as bad as I'd expect it. Also I finally downloaded my japanese textbook, so I can't wait to start learning again

Apart from all the things that happend I also had some work to take care of, I extended my library deadline (I still hadn't finished these 2 books) AND someone who I didn't expect to reached out to me, although it won't go anywhere it did made me excited. The con is that now it'll take me at least a week to get over it.

That's the end of the updates, now let's go over my goals for December and for the upcoming week.

DECEMBER GOALS:

Recently I had trouble sticking to my habits. I spent too much time on my phone, slept in, didn't care what I was putting into my body and went to bed late late late. That's why my main goal for december is to quit these habits, and stick to healthy ones that make me feel good. Second thingI want to focus on is to read more. I extended my library deadline, so I am looking forward to finishing No Longer Humand and Crime and Punishment in the next week. Also, I want to read The Picture of Dorian Gray and The Plague by Albert Camus (can you tell i'm into classics?) Last but not least, for me december is all about selfcare. I created a selfcare calendar with things to do each day. I am planning to take care of myself, and focus on improving my mindset towards a more positive one.

THIS WEEKS GOALS:

prioritize sleep cause I hadn't been sleeping well lately

no phone 30 minutes before bed and after waking up

finish No longer human for good this time and read at least 50 pages of Crime and Punishment

So in utter frustration they create Project JP... with the sole aim to get Jaune and Pyrrha together... however there is a problem no one knows of...

The Tax Cut and Jobs Act (TCJA) of 2017 aimed to increase business investment by cutting costs for business. Indeed, the legislation has been routinely described as having created the largest business tax cut in the nation’s history. It cut the top corporate tax rate from 35% to 21%, cut the top rate for many non-corporate businesses from 37% to 29.6%, and temporarily allowed firms to deduct the entire cost of certain investments as a current expense rather than depreciating it over time. All these changes reduced the after-tax cost of business investment.

But did these changes significantly boost investment? If they did not, the central raison d’etre for the corporate and business tax cuts disappears. Policymakers could then adjust these cuts and gain a viable revenue source to address historic and persistent federal deficits, all without unduly hurting the economy. 

Certainly, TCJA supporters have “claimed victory” on the investment front. And in fact, careful recent research finds that TCJA raised real corporate investment in equipment and structures by 8 to 14%. But such investment accounts for only about half (54% in 2016) of aggregate investment. The rest consists of investment in equipment and structure by non-corporate businesses and intellectual property (IP) by both corporate and non-corporate businesses.

Perhaps surprisingly, several perspectives suggest that aggregate investment was not markedly influenced by the TCJA. First, the Act substantially reduced the cost of capital for investment in equipment and structures. But Figure 1 shows that aggregate real equipment investment rose only slightly as a share of real gross domestic product (GDP), from 5.9% in 2015-16 to just over 6.0% in 2018-19, and that investment in structures was the same share of GDP (3.1%) in those two periods. (After 2019, the COVID-19 pandemic and the massive fiscal and monetary response make it difficult to isolate the impact of TCJA on investment.) In addition, the International Monetary Fund found that investment growth after TCJA was smaller than would have been expected based on previous corporate tax cuts, instead explained by increases in aggregate demand.

Investment in IP grew faster than in equipment and structures. But unlike equipment and structures, IP investment had risen steadily in the years before TCJA and that trend essentially continued after TCJA. Indeed, some provisions of TCJA raised the cost of IP investment, so the law is an unlikely source for growth in this area.

Second, comparisons of Congressional Budget Office (CBO) investment projections with actual investment data show similar patterns. In early 2017, after President Trump took office and before TCJA was introduced, CBO projected that real investment in equipment and structures would rise by 8.3% from the first quarter of  2017 to the final quarter of 2019. The actual increase was only slightly higher than that estimate—8.6%.

Third, comparisons of investment across countries similarly do not show significant impact of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. Figure 2 shows that, after 2017, the change in investment as a share of GDP in the United States was not exceptional compared to other Group of 7 countries (G-7 includes Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and United Kingdom). Although the U.S. economy had the second-highest growth rate in investment/GDP from 2013 to 2016, investment growth was not exceptional from 2016 to 2019. Indeed, the U.S. economy had only the fourth highest growth rate (essentially tied with Japan) in investment/GDP from 2016 to 2019, incorporating the period after the TCJA. Other than Japan, none of the other G-7 countries had major business tax reforms during this period.

Likewise, growth in U.S. investment in real terms (rather than as a share of GDP, not shown) from 2015-16 to 2018-19 was also unexceptional relative to other G-7 economies. Real investment in the U.S. economy grew about the same rate as in the United Kingdom, faster than Japan and Canada, but slower than Italy, Germany, and France.

There are two ways to make sense of the fact that, as a share of the economy, corporate investment in equipment and structure rose but aggregate investment did not: Either other factors reduced aggregate investment and offset the gains created by TCJA, or the TCJA reduced investment among non-corporate firms.

Certainly, factors other than the TCJA reduced investment over this period. Rising trade tensions and tariffs slowed growth. Estimates suggest that tariffs reduced GDP by roughly 0.3 percentage points relative to baseline in the short run. Industry-specific factors also played a role, such as delayed deliveries of Boeing’s 737 MAX plane, which reduced investment growth by 0.5 percentage points in 2019.

But fiscal policy was expansionary: Estimates find that the Bipartisan Budget Acts of 2018 and 2019 boosted GDP growth by between 0.75 and 1.75 percentage points. In addition, monetary policy was more accommodating in 2018 and 2019 than had been predicted pre-TCJA. When TCJA was enacted, Federal Reserve Officials projected a federal funds rate of 2.7% at the end of 2019, but it ended up being substantially lower at 1.625%.

The net effect of all these non-TCJA changes on investment was probably positive. They cannot explain the divergence in investment results.

That leaves the other possible explanation. The TCJA increased investment by firms with larger tax cuts, but those changes crowded out or came at the expense of investment by non-corporate businesses which received smaller or no tax cuts. In a nutshell: For a given investment project, the after-tax return increased by a greater amount for firms that received bigger tax cuts, so their ability to invest would have increased by more than firms with small or no tax cuts. They could expand at a lower cost and could have driven out the firms that got no or smaller tax cuts, since those firms faced a higher price of capital, material, and labor but no or smaller tax benefits. Under this interpretation, TCJA changed which firms did the investing but did not necessarily affect the overall level of investment. That is, TCJA reshuffled investment among firms.

The data support this alternative explanation. Kennedy et al. (see Figure A-7, Panel D) show that the ratio of investment to lagged capital fell from about 5% in 2017 to just over 2% in 2019 for S corporations, which received a smaller tax cut under TCJA. That ratio for similarly sized C corporations (who received a larger tax cut) followed the same trend through 2017, then rose to about 8.5% in 2019. These results imply a significant reallocation of investment from S corporations to C corporations.

Taken together, the available evidence suggests the TCJA largely failed in its major objective: It did not significantly boost aggregate investment. This also suggests that moderately raising the corporate tax rate would not adversely affect the economy, since business income in any year is largely the result of investments made in the past. In other words: Cutting the tax rate even more now would create substantial federal revenue losses that largely finance windfall gains to business owners who have already made investments. No policy is perfect, but the TCJA experience indicates that adjusting the corporate and business tax cuts in TCJA would bolster federal finances without significant costs to the economy. It might even help it.

Why Hermes?

So, some of you might have wondered why I decided to ship Hali’s Azem, Urania, with Hermes instead of your usual Emet, Hyth, or even Elidibus. As I have been asked this particular question before, I decided to write out my answer here for all that are curious to know. And what better opportunity to do so while celebrating #AppleSyrcus Week! This was supposed to be the entry for the Free Day, but I’m a bit late for that, so I apologize for the delay.

I want to start by saying that it’s been difficult at times for me to talk about Hermes, for multiple reasons, but possibly the biggest reason is that so many in the fandom seem to hate him. I mean he is the one that is easy to point to and say that he caused the final days in the first place and that he’s to blame for literally everything that happened afterwards. I won’t get into a debate here about how much of it was Hermes to blame, or the Ancients’ society at large, but there’s no denying of his role in the Final Days, being the creator of the Meteia and letting Meteion escape after knowing what the Meteia planned to do. So I get it, I really do. But it also means that it makes me really anxious about even talking about him, let alone gpose or write about him. Over time it’s gotten easier, so I’m okay with writing this out now.

Here’s the thing. From the beginning, I was in the “love to hate him” camp about Fandaniel. I was intrigued with his character and wanted to know more, but I wasn’t exactly excited about his total nihilism, especially in the Pre-EW patches when we first got a taste of him. He got a bit more interesting after the Amon reveal right before Tower of Zot. As a fan of Allag stuff, I liked the reveal and all, but I still didn’t know at all what to expect next. When we got to Fandaniel’s death when he became the heart of Zodiark, I felt like he was an interesting villain, but not my favorite in FFXIV, and I thought that was that. I actually didn’t think we’d get anything more about Fandaniel, let alone his Unsundered self.

Then came Elpis, and the more I heard and saw, the more I realized that I was going to fall in love with this character, or should I say the Unsundered Fandaniel anyway. The reveal that his name was Hermes got me so damn giddy already because I have always loved Hermes from Greek Mythology. Then when Hermes first spoke in Elpis, I recognized Jeremy Ang Jones’ voice, as he was clearly Amon/Fandaniel, but he spoke so softly and it just hit me with the feels instantly. I have no idea why, but I find a great voice to be a huge turn on, and Hermes just did it for me. His beautiful green eyes also greatly help in the sexiness department for me.

Seriously though, the more I learned of Hermes, the more I felt for him. His caring nature and compassion for all of the creations that entered his care, his devotion and fatherly love for Meteion, and his kindness towards the WoL, who was just a particularly odd familiar to his knowledge, just made me love him so deeply. And he was so unique amongst the Ancients, with his love for all creatures, not just his fellow people.

Another major reason why I got attached to Hermes was that I saw a lot of myself in him with his depression, as I myself have chronic depression, anxiety, panic attacks, PTSD, and I am also neurodivergent. Hermes spoke to me in a way that not many of the other characters had before. Though he was this all powerful Ancient, an immortal being who had the power of creation, and held an important position in his world, he still was not happy, and he was disillusioned with Ancient society. Hermes feels so real to me, and I couldn't shake how much I felt for him.

Even way after I had finished 6.0, I still couldn’t shake him from my mind. Though I had no intention on shipping my Azem with him for the longest time, since it took me nearly 2 years to do so, he had stolen my heart, just as Aymeric, G’raha, Cid, etc. had done before. When I created and developed Hali, I actually got some inspiration to flesh out her Azem, as I didn't do anything with Yume's, but I soon created Urania. And when I was writing out my ideas, my heart knew what the right choice was. I knew that Urania would love Hermes, but it ultimately is a tragic love story since it doesnt work out, as they are broken up before the summonings of Zodiark and Hydaelyn and the Sundering. Unlike how I had written Yume, Hali's Unsundered self would be the kind-hearted, compassionate, and understanding person that would be perfect to see Hermes for who he is and fall in love with him, even though Hermes will ultimately sabotage the relationship and push Urania away over and over again.

Lastly, I wanted to point out that my love is very much for Hermes, and not as much for Fandaniel as the sundered ascian. I very much see Hermes, Amon, and Ascian Fandaniel as all separate characters, even though they all share the same soul whose trauma can be first attributed to the suffering that Hermes experienced. Though I still sympathize with Fandaniel to a point, I certainly do not ship Hali with Fandaniel, nor Hermes even. This is because Hali's heart belongs to Aymeric, and although she recognizes that she has some feelings for Hermes when she meets him in Elpis, Hali ultimately attributes that to Urania's feelings and not her own.

As of right now, I am still figuring out not only a canon timeline, especially with the newest short story coming in and wrecking a few things that I had planned, but I also have a few headcanons for the Modern AU with Urania x Hermes. So for now, I’ll give you a handful of headcanons for the Modern AU.

Hermes is a single father who adopted Meteion when she was a few months old, and she is obviously not a familiar in this modern setting but a little girl who wants her papa to find love. He is in graduate school working towards his master’s and eventually his PhD in Astronomy, but he still doesn’t earn enough to support himself and his daughter, so he is a barista at the local coffee shop. It is at the coffee shop where he meets Urania, who is a regular customer. They then bump into each other at the university and realize that they are in the same Astronomy graduate program. Some other hobbies that Hermes has include cooking, bird watching, and stargazing, along with spending his free time with Meteion as much as he can. I’m still figuring out how I want the romance to develop, but I’m very excited about this AU because it can just be a sweet love story and no big bad stuff happening like the Final Days.
