You look in the mirror, and there's blood running down your side; flesh peeling off like ribbons, bone glistening like pearls.

You blink, and your reflection is whole once more.

There was never a scar, for you were not separated. The split came before you; came in the form of a jaw falling apart as a skull cracked open, came in the form of a chest split in half, and ribs a broken cage.

You were born from half of the remains, half of a should-be corpse sewing itself back together into someone supposed to be complete. You were born with blood on your hands and knowing you'd always be compared to someone else.

There was never a scar, but you hurt the same.

All you can do is smile bright enough that no one looks close; all you can do is act like you're not missing half of who you were.

All you can do is act, even as you bleed through nothing, for there was never a scar.

No matter what your reflection shows.

I find it funny that Wild, who has basically a couple years ish of full life experience, comes up with the most insane theories for everything

He assumed that the only other explanation to Four being able to split in Four was. That he was quadruplets who'd been hiding this whole time???

Also apparently he believed that his wolf companion Twilight in botw was a diety (and felt very uhh shocked upon finding out that he was not)

Malon made things worse, telling him about her aliens theory

What's even FUNNIER is that every time Wild expresses any sort of confusion at magic stuff that he's never seen before, everyone else in the chain acts like it's crazy for him to be weirded out by it

Honestly maybe Wild's the only one with his head on straight, rather than everyone else who are just like 'it's magic bro' like no he's right this is weird

I appreciate this because it's very considerate of the fact that he woke up with no memories not too long ago, so he doesn't have much experience to explain the stuff that's 'normal' for the chain. Plus the explanations he comes up with are funny.

My Romulus/King Creativity design.

The whole Split AU is probably one of my favorite ideas to come from the fandom but I've honestly never seen a version of it that I liked. Most people seem to use it to villainize Patton, or they make Romulus a fucking asshole to an excessive degree. I think "Patton is the reason he split" and "Romulus wants revenge for what happened after he recombines" could be done well, but I've yet to see someone do it in a way that compelled me.

I like to think the sides formed around when Thomas was ten and Romulus wasn't around for too long before be split. Maybe a year or two. I don't really think Patton would do it himself but Romulus sorta naturally falls apart just due to Thomas' mind developing further.

I also don't ever see him coming back, but in the situation where he does I don't really imagine him wanting to go after anybody. He is still the culmination of Roman and Remus after all. He wouldn't want to hurt anybody they didn't. You could do it where they all have their separate memories but in that case, from Romulus' point of view, he's just been knocked out for the last twenty-three years.

Payton waited for Vincent to share his big news. At first, she wondered if Renee would show up to reveal her pregnancy! She smiled at the thought. Instead, a young man came and greeted them warmly. Observing him carefully, he seemed close to her son. But what could the news possibly be?

"Mum, this is Isaac…my half-brother," Vincent leaned back on his chair, unsure how she would react. Isaac watched both closely.

Immediately, Payton felt on edge, learning of his relation to that man, Ashton Kingsley. So many years had passed and in truth, she no longer felt much peril in her or Vincent's life. Hearing their intentions of discovering what happened to that man, she knew they simply wanted to disclose that information. The things he did and then disappearing into thin air. What even happened to him? Was he really dead like the police say? Or was he hiding somewhere far away?

After concluding their discussion, Payton asked about Isaac's family. "My mum, she died when I was young," Isaac was silent for a moment as if he was figuring out how to answer, "And I have other siblings, but we're…estranged." They offered their deepest sympathies and said he was part of their family now.

He appreciated their open arms.

For all of my “Belinda is the Doctor and Master’s child” Kool-Aid, I don’t actually know where she’d have come from. I don’t think it’d be a “when two best enemies love-hate each other very much sometimes they do something irresponsible and impulsive with their bodies.”

What would y’all go with?

Terrified that I think I’d probably do some bullshit like she’s their unbigenerated smooshed-back-together selves. That their past selves (fobwatched or not) had to raise. Get the meta of self-therapy in there. And if the emergency break gets pulled it’d at least leave things in a novel position.

people like to think Remus might have appeared a millisecond before Roman due to him being sort of the reason for the split. I like to think Roman’s older due to Thomas not knowing Remus’s creativity until he was like 11 or smth. Like he wouldn’t have know stuff about “goldfish’s in condoms” or “accidentally killing someone” when he’s 5 lol. So I think Roman sort of existed first even for a sec before Remus. Like king creativity was only sort of Roman’s creativity until Thomas started learning about stuff that would make up Remus lol.

I like to think when king creativity still existed romans part of creativity existed in him first then Remus’s a few years later. So even if it’s not right Remus is always younger in my eyes lmao

Hello! I love your writing so much, there's something amazing about the rhythm you build in each paragraph. Do you have any tips that you think are cool/useful for writing better?

In general, I find it especially helpful for building rhythm to listen back to my writing during the editing stage! I just use a generic text to speech app and throw my rough draft in there, and listen to the robot voice. Hearing someone/thing say the words written out loud (and I usually use x2 speed so a bad part will really stand out like a train crash) can help me find places where sentences drag on, where there needs to be additional punctuation, or where to address areas that sound awkward! For writing better in general, I unfortunately have to say that you should just write A LOT and really try to finish the WIPS you start. You can never get good at drafting or story crafting if you stop halfway through all of the time.
