Apparently Scootaloo, Apple Bloom, and Sweetie Belle were like, I would assume teens, and all in a relationship (idk y dat part was significant XD) and Scootaloo had a fake baseball cutie mark and Rarity was horrified for sum reason lolz. Apple jack said sumthing (I 4got) then Apple Bloom said "show them your real cutie mark!" Scootaloo took off the baseball sticker and it showed a BLUE SPARKLE DOG AND DATS WEN DA DREAM ENEDED WTF

Honestly letting go of shame is the easiest way to become happy with your life. I feel like people set a lot of little rules for themselves about getting through the day that they don’t realize do more harm than good.

Came to this conclusion when I woke up this morning still feeling sore from my long work week, I was so tired last night that I didn’t eat the snack I brought to bed. Hey guess what? That’s breakfast. Eating in bed, falling asleep with food in bed, going to sleep without brushing my teeth or showering, sleeping in, eating said food (food safety disclaimer: sealed container, not temperature sensitive). For a lot of people, these are things they’d beat themselves up about and be ashamed of.

And what good would that do? Clearly I was exhausted, now I have the energy to do what I wish I could have last night. When you get mad at yourself for engaging in behaviours you don’t like, you shift the blame onto yourself for ‘not doing enough’ or ‘being weak’. You think of yourself as the problem rather than the actual problem - why is my job exhausting me to this point? What can I do to prevent this from happening again?

In essence what I’m saying is “cringe is dead” but that doesn’t apply just to huge displays of ‘cringe’ behaviour. Shame comes in many forms, have empathy for others but also yourself.

I wildly miscalculated when I volunteered to run a panel on fanfiction at the upcoming GSA conference thinking that fanfiction was still a weird niche thing. It is NOT. It is N O T. There are so many teenagers who want to listen to me word-vomit about queer rep in fanfiction.

Stick with your interests. I've been reading and writing fanfic for 21 years and now I get to be paid to say absolutely wild sentences about omegaverse and trans, non-binary, and intersex representation in front of a bunch of teenagers a month and a half before I go for top surgery. I would have never dreamed this.
