i need to learn 3d modelling so that more than anything my power to mod persona 4 golden can grow
#rambles#modding#the thing is i'm SO BAD at following tutorials#i've always learned better by doing my own thing. messing around with whatever tool it is until it works#but that isn't really something i can do with 3d modelling.#or at least it's not something i can do at a total beginner level. i imagine it'll be kinda like how i learned coding#(did a couple free online classes and once i learned the very basics/got bored i just did my own thing)#but i started THAT when i was like 14. i wanna be as good at blender as i am with html/css NOW!!!!!!#<- is not even that good w html#<- because of the aforementioned ''hates taking classes on this kind of thing'' thing

build-a-divider tool v1.0 is ONLINE!
Yes yes yes! I'm really happy with it so far! Since my lovely svg images don't work on AO3 (as yet), I added an option for gradients. Also nice!

So folks, there it is, you can go give your fanfiction some lovely dividers without having to learn a thing about CSS. Just play around a bit and copypaste the resulting code.
🌟 Have Fun! 🌟
(If you've missed what this is about: how to make pretty AND accessible dividers in my AO3 formatting manual)

Combining forces, GSAP & Webflow!
New Post has been published on https://thedigitalinsider.com/combining-forces-gsap-webflow/
Combining forces, GSAP & Webflow!
Change can certainly be scary whenever a beloved, independent software library becomes a part of a larger organization. I’m feeling a bit more excitement than concern this time around, though.
If you haven’t heard, GSAP (GreenSock Animation Platform) is teaming up with the visual website builder, Webflow. This mutually beneficial advancement not only brings GSAP’s powerful animation capabilities to Webflow’s graphical user interface but also provides the GSAP team the resources necessary to take development to the next level.
GSAP has been independent software for nearly 15 years (since the Flash and ActionScript days!) primarily supported by Club GSAP memberships, their paid tiers which offer even more tools and plugins to enhance GSAP further. GSAP is currently used on more than 12 million websites.
I chatted with Cassie Evans — GSAP’s Lead Bestower of Animation Superpowers and CSS-Tricks contributor — who confidently expressed that GSAP will remain available for the wider web.
It’s a big change, but we think it’s going to be a good one – more resources for the core library, more people maintaining the GSAP codebase, money for events and merch and community support, a VISUAL GUI in the pipeline.
The Webflow community has cause for celebration as well, as direct integration with GSAP has been a wishlist item for a while.
The webflow community is so lovely and creative and supportive and friendly too. It’s a good fit.
I’m so happy for Jack, Cassie, and Rodrigo, as well as super excited to see what happens next. If you don’t want to take my word for it, check out what Brody has to say about it.

Color Blender
Supply two color values in either hex, short hex, RGB percentages, or RGB decimals and get as many as ten colors shades between the two you supplied. Great for finding a color halfway between two shades you like, or mixing two colors together in various proportions.

As someone who made her own theme, I personally think Tumblr's scuffed ass rollout of NPF is one of the main things that murdered the custom themes scene.
Nowadays the documentation is outdated, inconsistent, and split between the "actual" theme documentation and the NPF spec. Even the simplest theme templates are too bloated and hard to understand for newcomers.
Like, the old post formatting had a TON of flaws and I'm glad we got the new system, but pre-NPF it was feasible for someone with literally no HTML/CSS/JS knowledge to edit their blog's theme with the documentation and some googling. Now you have to either make your own post rendering pipeline from near scratch or accept your theme will be half-incompatible with most posts made after 2018.
Like, don't get me wrong, I really like NPF! It's by far the best extant social media post format (rip chost)! but as it is atm the entry barrier is too high for most users to even try dealing with it.
i think we should have a custom blog theme renaissance
#this is not an NPF hit piece I legit love it but like coming back to tumblr and making my custom theme was... an experience#why was it harder now that I'm good at web design than 12 years ago when I didn't even know how to use firefox's dev tools lol#deerbleats#anyways plugging my theme lol I'm kinda happy with it go give it a look#I should rewrite it with newer CSS features and cleaner JS but ghhhghghghghg later
