i decided to make this a post because it would easier to explain. to make text with a gradient color you can go on this site called "text color fader" - link.

you enter your text and then pick any color you want to gradient. then you hit "generate color faded text." once it generates the text, you are going to click select all then just copy the text.

next you are going to go to the this site called "replace text" - link.

you are going to enter the text that you copied into the box. there is going to be two little boxes underneath the big box. you are going to put this symbol -> ; into the "replace this" box. leave the "with this" box empty. then you are going to click replace text. it will remove all the ; in the text.

next you are going to click on the "copy to clipboard" button. it will automatically copy the text.

now all you have to do is go back to your post on tumblr and click on the settings button on the top right corner. you're gonna scroll down to where you see "text editor." change the text to HTML and then just paste your text onto the post, then hit "save as draft" and your text should have a color gradient.

Imagine, for a moment, that your internet just stopped loading images one day. Your dash might look pretty different (and less usable), but at least you can still make posts — whether about your internet situation, or about completely unrelated topics.

Now, imagine that one or more of your posts blew up, to the tune of hundreds if not thousands of notes. Imagine people started adding images to your posts.

Imagine your post circulating almost entirely in the form with four or five images attached, and with everyone in the notes laughing about those images — except you, who started the post in the first place, who can't even see those images because you're trapped in Tumblr's loading gradient hellscape.

You're excluded from any further conversations on your own post, because someone added a mystery image with the caption "don't leave this in the tags," but you have no idea which set of tags it is, and can't tell if it's one of the good takes from the tags or one of the horrible takes from the tags. You're excluded from the Tumblr users playing with JPEGs like dolls. You can try to guess the contents of the images based on people's reactions, but it's hard. And no one adding images even seems to notice the irony.

This is, of course, a real problem plaguing Tumblr users with regularly slow internet. And it's also a huge, insidious problem plaguing blind and low vision people who rely on either screen readers, or image descriptions in combination with enlarged text on their device.

People with disabilities around comprehending images, people who have images (or gifs) disabled due to photosensitivity, and many others are also affected.

If you add an image to a post without either alt text, an in-post image description, or even both for maximal inclusivity, you don't know if OP — or the person whose tags you're peer reviewing, or whose reply you're screenshotting — will actually be able to see it. From their perspective, you might just be shoving a mystery rectangle in their face, expecting them to be able to guess — or responding to them without them being able to know.

Imagine being on the receiving end of that expectation constantly. Imagine how isolating that must feel.

We need, collectively, to stop making assumptions that everyone we interact with online will be able to access, physically see, and mentally process images. The assumption that disabled people are vanishingly rare and statistically shouldn't really need to be considered is an assumption of structural and/or implicit ableism.

Write image descriptions. Write image descriptions for every image you post, if you're able — but if you have limited energy, or you're still learning, you should at least start trying your absolute best to describe images you add to other people's posts. If you're starting a conversation, even an online conversation, you should make your best effort to be accessible.

So: Write IDs, especially if they're as simple as just text, like screenshotted tags (link to guide). Write IDs even if you think the best ID you can write is too short, or too incomplete (link to post explaining why even "bad" IDs help).

Write IDs in general (link to a huge compilation of guides). Challenge ableist assumptions and inaccessibility.

HOW TO GET OMBRÉ STYLED TEXT ON TUMBLR

𝜗℘ I got a request on TikTok asking to do a tutorial on gradient text — tumblr doesn’t have an in-app option on doing gradient texts. This is how.

𝜗℘ Sites you can use: image color picker / stuffbydavid (gradient text).

𝜗℘ People say that you have to use a computer for this, which isn’t true. I am able to make gradient text on my phone, but you can use a computer if you want.

color picking from an image is optional, but highly recommended.

one: put the text you want to color for your tumblr post.

two: change the color of the text to whatever color you want. there are several options on how you want it. pick whatever option you want. the text will automatically generate for you.

three: copy the entire code then press “copy”.

four: go over to tumblr (website, not the app) and click “edit post” (the pencil) or create a new post.

five: click the settings button and change it from “rich text” to “HTML.”

six: paste the code from the gradient text website in the HTML where you want it to go. (I paste it then just save the post to my drafts then edit the text on the app)

✨ Snappy's Gradient Text Tutorial

You might have seen me use gradient text in a few of my artworks, and it is a great tool to make a posts tand out! I learned from this post, but find some of the information outdated, so I am making a tutorial of my own!

To my knowledge, this is only possible via desktop mode* (mobile method at end), but not the app, as access to the HTML function is necessary. Alongside that, you need access to a text color fader! There's a few options out there, but I use:

Let's get to the tutorial!

Have the text you want to turn into a gradient ready and copy it to your clipboard.

2. Open the text color fader and paste your text into the box labeled "your message".

3. For the most basic gradients, you may ignore the boxes on the right. The leftmost boxes allow you to choose between preset colors or making your own colors.

Tip: if you are making a gradient for something such as art, I reccoment grabbing a few hex codes from the image to use for your gradient. This allows you to have control over your colors. You may also save a pallet if you want to use it again

4. When you are happy with your colors, generate your text.

5. You will be brought to this page. If you are happy with the colors, click "select all" and copy the HTML to your clipboard.

TIP: check your text against both a dark and light background to ensure it will be readable to viewers on dark and light mode. If it is not you can tweak the colors by choosing "create new fade".

6. Open Tumblr again and open your post. At the top right there is a grear icon. Click the icon and scroll down to the text editor. Change the setting from "rich text" to "HTML"

7. When you move to HTML, your post will look very different! In the HTML, your goal is to find the text you want to replace in the code.

TIP: If you can't find it, use "Ctrl + F" to open the keword search function and it will highlight your word.

8. Highlight your plain text, right click it, and paste your HTML from Patorjik into the space.

TIP: The HTML is a confusing mess to look at. Click the "preview" tab to check if your code worked

9. You should see a gradient when you swicth modes!

If the HTML broke your formatting, you can edit it in the preview mode. Once you have done a gradient a couple of times this process is very easy and takes LESS than two minutes. It looks intimidating but after you get the hang it is very achievable! I believe in you guys being able to do it. Happy gradient texting for you guys!

*EDIT: It is possible via mobile through the method of entering your account on a web browser and putting it on computer mode, then following the same process. Reportedly it is less comfortable but it works, thank you to chocokeyboard for letting me know!

unfinished ref for pasquale, don't have a desire to finish it but i will talk about some details, some of it can eventually be outdated as i learn / understand more.

one of the biggest things is t he writing of "heaven is .." accompanied by the bunnies on the inside of his coat running. i've mentioned it before somewhere that pasquale is in particular a bunnyfolk, a big bunnyfolk due to his greed in vulcanic heights.

these two details are in relation to the text that shows up when a big bunny in dream game jumps and lands

the text as transcribed from the wiki discusses perenniality.

it's hard to describe, though it's important to me.. so bear with me... mafia have a dialogue saying "we are soldiers, and soldiers don't go to hell". in infinite silver, there's a paper discussing fissure and it's barbarities. while it definitely is referring to fissure and the brutality of their leader wegottman ..

i feel like it can lightly apply to mafia, in the sense that they invade other areas, sick big psycharpaxes on targets with significant debth ( of which the mastery of big psycharpaxes is illegal ), leave bombs that leave long lasting fire in its wake while chiding the person on the other end. its brutal, as they say they have no room for empathy.

move from one target to the next, invade another area in the dreamsphere and leave again, over and over, the same game but slightly different everytime.

their is destruction in their wake even if their presentation can be so goofy.

the "heaven is.." of his belt is finished with the cyclical movement of the bunnies on the innerside of his coat, running and running in a circle, in a cycle around the inside.

( gesturing my hands wildly because i don't know how to explain it ) ..pasquale is a little strange sometimes, in the head at least. he recognizes the remorseless and very greedy behavior he and the rest of mafia exhibit across the dreamsphere with the denial that they could ever go to hell.

he'll believe in a god when it benefits him. even with josafa's influence and silent presence across the dreamsphere, he'll only believe and pray for them in death.

if soldiers don't go to hell, where do they go. hell is empty. heaven is perennial.

more straight and direct details are the gradients of his coat and his hair going from dark to lighter from top to bottom. it's intended to reference the bunny pattern he's based on, which are silver marten rabbits!

his fur is mostly a dark color, to a slight blue / teal coloration to reference feral bunnies in game.

pasquale has eyes but they are hidden in the thick crest of fur in his face. it is rare to actually see them since he is usually looking straight ahead or has his fedora tipped at an angle where you may only see the lower half of them.

the bunnies of his coat's collar are semi-alive, semi-extensions of his will. they're sort of like pets at the same time, they are in all terms, his.

the bunnies are generally sleeping and are all individually named by pasquale. they can wake up and jump off or exist as their individual named self. they are not bunnyfolk.

in a more feral state that mafioso can be in ( usually in pursuit of a target or just being angered ), the bunnies are no longer visually domesticated bunnies but become wild hares that join in the pursuit of a target. they become noticeably less friendly, losing the round softness they had in their sleep.

STEP ONE !! go to blinkies.cafe and select a blinkie. i reccomend going to old and selecting one of the very simple ones !! DO NOT SELECT THE GRADIENT ONE YOU WILL SUFFER

STEP TWO !! click on it btw. anyways, since spaces won't work, put "‎ " !! it will register !! this is also how to make videos on yt title-less i think... anyways, choose the biggest size

then click generate and download the blinkie!!

STEP THREE !! import into ibis paint !!

now i reccomend putting a reference of whatever character in your ref window. won't explain that, look it up.

STEP FOUR !! choose colors and recolor with bucket tool on 0

wow, look at that !!

STEP FIVE !! import a transparent image of your character and put the text of your choice.

heres the font i use !!

advice for choosing colors of the text: make the body the color of the blinkies border and the outside the brightest light !!

STEP FIVE AND A HALF !! this is optional, but i make a very small border around the text. duplicate layer and bring it on top, make all other layers invisible, alpha lock, make it the color of the border, turn off alpha lock, use bucket tool on expand 0.5 or 1 and tap a few times on the blob, turn other layers back on, put the duplicate under the original thing and merge so it's a small border. it's very subtle but i like it.

Since you’re good friends with Dazai, he might view you as better than him, so you’d have to get him out of that inferiority complex he has.

It takes a while to build up to your first kiss, because he’d want to trust and be sure in your affections.

It would also be very difficult to get Ryu to trust you. 

The difference in organizations wouldn’t help at all. He might end up thinking that you’re using him for information. 

Kind of like trying to coax a starving stray cat into your protection.

However, with enough love and care, you can get Ryu to accept your feelings and trust you.

Ryu wouldn’t talk about your relationship to anyone except Gin.

Cuddle sessions. CUDDLE SESSIONS. CUDDLE SESSIONS!!!!!

Seriously, give this man a hug. And some praise. And really listen to him when he starts opening up to you. And also be nice to Gin.

Ryu’s heart was already yours in the first place, but that’s how you fully win him over.

CHŪYA NAKAHARA.

Chūya might be the easiest one to have a relationship with out of all 3. He genuinely would not care about the difference in organizations.

He would fall in love with you during some sort of job that the ADA and Port Mafia had to work together for.

Your quick wit and casual bantering enrapture Chūya immediately. Also, if you managed to entertain him and not push his buttons, he likes that.

He wouldn’t necessarily deny his feelings to other people, but I don’t think he’d talk about in general cause he didn’t think people would need to know.

If someone teased Chūya about it though? He’s denying that immediately, just cause he’d get flustered.

He’d probably make the first move, unless you confessed fast.

I feel like Chūya wouldn’t be very serious during his confession? Like he wouldn’t be the “you’re the absolute loml, Juliet to my Romeo” he would be “you’re hot, wanna date?”

Don’t get me wrong, he can be serious, I just don’t think his confession would be.

If you confess first, he might get a bit flustered, but he’d definitely say yes. Maybe gets jokingly frustrated that you confessed first instead of him.

But hear me out: ANGRY RAIN LOVE CONFESSION. For some reason you’re mad at each other, maybe something to do with work, and boom! He confesses in the heat of the moment. (I’m a romance lover at heart yall.)

Your first date is at the most expensive restaurant in Yokohama. You both get glasses of some fancy wine and you enjoy a romantic dinner. 

Afterwards, you go on a motorcycle ride back to Chūya apartment. (Please do not drive drunk. 😭) 

You guys drink more wine, get drunk that night, and that’s when you have your first kiss together.

He’d simultaneously think he’s deserving and undeserving of your love.

You might have to reassure Chūya that he is human and that he’s worthy of your adoration.

However, just loving you makes him feel more human, and your returned affections further that.

You may also end up in arguments because of his tendency towards arrogance and having to convince him that he’s human. 

Kōyō is for sure the first one to know about the relationship. If you ever end up in a fight, Chūya goes to her first.

You would go on so many romantic dates and trips together. You might have to remind Chūya that he doesn’t have to give everything in a relationship, even if he is rich.

Type of guy to bring you lunch at work, if he doesn’t steal you away from the ADA to go on a date during your lunch breaks. 10/10 boyfriend.

ŌGAI MORI.

For the sake of my sanity and also this ask, Elise is like a daughter to Mori.

I cannot promise Mori wouldn’t try to kidnap you or convince Fukuzawa to send you to him for some sort of aid.

He would fall in love with you after a show of intellect or strength or if you have a really strong ability.

It wouldn’t start as love for Mori, more so just a desire to get you into the Port Mafia.

He wouldn’t talk about his affections for you unless it benefited him in some way, especially since you’re an ADA member.

If someone noticed his sudden focus on a certain ADA member? No, they did not.

I think he wouldn’t actively pursue you unless he was sure he could recruit you.

He would make the first move. It’s not optional, he just would. 

If you SOMEHOW managed to confess first, firstly he would be flattered. Then he would accept.

Your first date would also be in the most expensive restaurant in all of Yokohama, but he would have rented the entire restaurant out just for you two. 

Your first kiss would be a few dates in, probably after he asks you to officially be his boyfriend.

Type of person to have a photo of you together with Elise on his desk, but facing him so nobody asks about it. 

Speaking of which, if you’re kind to Elise, or even act fatherly to her, that just makes him fall even harder.

He’s very sure of your love. Unlike the last two, he’s not the type to view you as greater than him.

In fact, in the beginning, he may view you as inferior or just a pawn in a much greater game, but as your relationship progresses that view changes.

Whilst you’re still in the ADA, he may also just try to get you to get Dazai back in the Port Mafia. Sorry, it’s just a fact.

I feel like he has the capability to be a yandere. He would kill for you or have someone killed for you if he was devoted enough, as long as it would end up benefiting him too.

He’s very much a romantic. I'm talking candlelit dinners, waltzing, giving you gifts, the shebang.

Speaking of being a romantic, I kinda feel like he would give you the prince treatment. You would take ballroom dancing classes together.
