Shirtless Disaster Pt2.

But Greygold's Emperor.....was not!

After witnessing with my own eyes that is shirtless squid buddy, I realized something. Squid buddy is a godsdamned silly goose trying to be too cool for school.

I just....I would reaaallly like to know the emperor's thought process for how they concluded that sitting next to your sleeping crush shirtless is a viable strategy for starting a conversation

NO REALLY- WHY IS THERE NO 'WHY ARE YOU SHIRTLESS' DIALOGUE CHOICE. WHY??????? The entire time the Emperor, with their squid tiddies out on full display, was casually talking, that question was the only thought running through my head. GIVE ME THE DIALOGUE OPTION, GAME, GIVE ME.

Such a silly moment. In conclusion. I had to make it more silly.

OKAY BUT ALSO, BEFORE ANYONE TAKES HUNGRY SQUID TOO SERIOUSLY. There's a book in the game. talks about tadpoles smelling like garlic after eating brains. and. Emps. smelled like garlic. so. and if you knock out the guards instead of kill, they disappear, SO. And Orpheus' brain is edible in here SO. so. why not a lil. why not a lil snackaroos. people are getting mad about a contemporary art thing again so naturally I had to check it out and see if it's as empty, stupid, and pretentious as everyone is saying.

turns out Roman Signer is a down to earth dude with a sense of humour who doesn't take himself too seriously, which was exactly the vibe I was getting from his works.

"falling buckets of sand gee how original, so I guess I was making "art" all the time as a kid then 🙄" yes actually, according to Signer's own philosophy kids are making art all the time and not thinking of it as art. you can disagree with this mindset, but he does not strike me as a man who'd be in any way bothered by someone saying "I can do that myself" and then doing it themself. he strikes me as someone who would in fact encourage doing it yourself, because it's fun.

if he was a pretentious guy in his 20s claiming his pieces are so profound they can only be understood by the elite, sure I'd be annoyed. but he's just a funny lil old Swiss man who does funny and absurd little experiments and encourages you to laugh at them. I can't be mad at that. it's fun and way more accessible than people seem to think.

If Awakening was longer, would we get more of Justice's confusion with sudden change of the realm? How different is it of an experience for him to go all physical compared to that one spirit in Inquisition complaining that nothing is listening to it when it tries to bend them to its will? If he felt the same, would he do an awkward war cry before doing some weird movement that would work as an attack in fade terms but is just funny here? Would he randomly try to hand you stuff expecting them to form out of nowhere so he would end up just giving you the palm, out of habit?

I just wanted to say that your blog brings me so much joy! I often see a funky fish/aquatic life post on here and just nod my head in agreement or just feel joy about the beauty of all creatures and it's almost always a post reblogged/posted by you! Even animals that I would've considered 'scary' before... now I just look at the worms etc and feel excitement (because your passion is contagious), thanks! <3

This is such a nice thing to say, thank you thank you very much!! I’m glad that the enthusiasm sticks because it really is just so fun to discover new creatures and learn about them! :D I used to have many more “prejudices” against undesirable organisms when I was a teen, but I’ve been slowly unlearning them and tried to replace them with curiosity instead, just thinking about how insane it is that all these creatures exist and that they exist the way they do and behave the way they do and how their experiences are so different from ours yet we all came from the very same origins. It’s working quite nicely! The world is so full of interesting and surprising creatures and there’s always so much to find and discover and wonder about!!! Nature is a beautiful cocktail of millions of years of evolution with billions of organisms to unearth (sometimes literally)!!

Not to go on a tangent (I will) but I think being in an environment where no creature is too unsightly or somehow horrible for being alive but is instead interesting and valued really aids in that. I was always a fish-and-arthropods-loving girl, but in my time at my uni I’ve learned to appreciate many more organisms a whole lot more thanks to passionate lecturers and fellow classmates! I never knew I’d come to love and appreciate parasites, for example, but one of my professors is so passionate about aquatic parasites specifically that it was just way too contagious! Sharing passion is the best ever and I won’t stop any time soon >:DD
