Disgustingly messy and crusty sketch dump but I couldn't get my own terrible theory out of my head and ended up making a bunch of sketches about it. Also at the end a bonus dickbats and Damian doodle bc I was reading an issue of their Batman and Robin run (IDs in Alt)

Being a human is literally like this weird combo of being okay and not okay that goes on forever except there is also death

#(i'm fine)#(personally) (mostly) (really)#this has just been an absolutely terrible year for our planet and its people and animals #and it's fucking insane that as an american living in relative safety and comfort and experiencing the pleasures and guilt of that...#...i can experience this horrible yet ENTIRELY SURVIVABLE blend of acute pain over so many things at once #including war and genocide and the utter hopelessness of that #and also things like being really really sad that matthew perry's life was so hard and he died #and also so many bad and weird things have happened to family members this year but we mostly have the resources to come together and deal #which is amazing and bolstering and exhausting #and my brain still has space to be excited about writing and numb to writing and angry/impotent about writing #desperate for feedback yet private and retreat-y and weird #always hoping to hit upon The Perfect Thing :-/#and i live in a place that basically is not a democracy any more and also the u.s. is so cursed we've never been what we said we were #so a lot of my own perceived safety is incredibly fragile #but still so much more solid than what the people i am mourning for had #and none of the comparisons make a lick of sense and are in and of themselves deeply unfair #to the point that it's humiliating to feel guilt (making it about me) and simultaneously humiliating that i don't feel guilt *constantly*#and i have therapy this week but also this deep sense that while my therapist will be a fine person to talk to it will feel unuseful #i've always been a muddle of optimism and pessimism and i am very adamant that life is super beautiful and this is precisely why...#...all the violence in the world is so brutally devastating #it's just that the casserole of all these thoughts feels increasingly horrible #and feeling that way is 100% sane #and even intersectional frameworks and intentional attempts at gentleness only get you so far in the grapple #for meaning and for ideas of what to do #so i end up contacting my reps about various awful things #and zooming in and out on my fixations and having excellent days and terrible days #often dependent on what feels like a camera setting i only partially control #and i'm sure i'm not alone in feeling embarrassed that deep empathy and grief for people i've not met somehow ends up being...#...at least a sliver about ME and my little world #about me

Screams. Whatever malevolent curse has lead to me having one of the worst years imaginable has absolutely struck my dad too, because on top of all the surgery complications he's been having, apparently yesterday a tornado missed his house by just a couple hundred yards.

#my family don't even live in a historically tornado-prone part of colorado so this is distressing for multiple reasons #it doesn't seem like my mother or sisters are having the worst time so i guess this is a strictly father-son situation #diversity win! the curse placed upon your family is gender-affirming!

half of them are in a language i created (Vizerxa for example)

or are words mashed togethre from said language i made (keiluvi for example)

I really did not expect how early the idea of "inflict Human Face Disease on Yong'an" would come up. I thought Bai Wuxiang would suggest it as revenge after the war! Bai Wuxiang didn't even say in as many words that Xie Lian should inflict it - he told Xie Lian how this outbreak happened, and Mu Qing first brought up turning it on Yong'an in as many words. (Mu Qing was basically picking up Bai Wuxiang's implications, I'm not saying it was Mu Qing's idea. Mostly I'm saying I'm surprised Mu Qing and Feng Xin were even there to give their input on this matter in particular)

#Me Talking #tian guan ci fu #heaven official's blessing #TGCF liveblogging #I will say I get where Mu Qing's finding the appeal in both the bloody efficient math and vengeance from cursing Yong'an back #But even putting aside morals and compassion and all that there's issues with that as a plan #The Yong'an soldiers would be immune; they're also the ones most likely to be fueling the resentment that lets the curse work #Yong'an civilians dying from Human Face Disease would both further the resentment of everyone not infected #and probably their souls could join their curse as well #And that's assuming all the initial information and assumptions are right and that removing the living people would undo the curse #Which I am not 100% confident about! I don't trust Bai Wuxiang but also Xie Lian never said Bai Wuxiang said the curse needs living people!#Reading over his explanation he says it works because the spirits were influenced during their initial confusion upon dying #not that they need the constant resentment from their families to keep doing what they're doing #I don't know yet whether that means Mu Qing made a wrong assumption or I'm just making things out of nothing #But even thinking only of ruthless efficiency - using the Human Face Disease on Yong'an doesn't seem like a good idea

Thank u (both?) for the buckley-diaz family + taylor dinner scene essay. I stand by the opinion that 5x11 is actually a top 5 most romantically coded buddie ep (in no particular order the others are 2x01 3x09 4x13 6x13 all of which should be self explanatory. HM to 3x05 fight and 4x14 will scene and 6x01 dinner tho) like we should be talking about 5x11 way more than we do. Like even your post really made me think about how interesting it is how in the two previous eddie/buck/taylor scenes eddie was the one on the outside of their dynamic but he was always in between the two of them (2x06 and 4x12 - I could write a whole essay about the 4x12 scene tbh) but now in 5x11 taylor is the one getting in between buck and eddie and is the one on the outside of their dynamic. Almost like the shooting and the will scene changed something between buck and eddie. Anyways I will be thinking about buck eating eddie’s meal like he hasnt eaten in weeks in my dreams tn thanks!

One of the things I'm enjoying most about not mentally being in a cult anymore is being able to watch movies :) It's so nice to just put on a movie and not be worried about the spiritual implications of it.
