Pairing: Jackson x reader

A/N: Hello, lovelies! It's been a while! Slowly coming out of this block I've been having. I was organizing the stories I had, sorting through what is WIP and what has been done, and found I had completed a few last year that I haven't even posted...whoops. For those that missed me, I'm planning to post a story a month. No firm day has been selected, but most likely a Friday during the month. Let's hope I don't fall into another block...

For now, please enjoy this little tidbit <3

“Y/N”, come on!” Jackson urged you as he pulled you by the waist while you held on for dear life to the pole holding up the sign to the rollercoaster entrance. “It’s gonna be fun!”

“Jackson!” you yelled, “I can’t! It’s too high!”

Jackson giggled at how cute your fear of heights was at that moment. “I promise it will be fine,” he reassured, “I’ll be right next to you and I will hold your hand the entire time.”

You looked at him with eyes pleading not to go through with this. Seeing his happy smiling face eager to share this thrill with you, you took a deep breath and let go. “I trust you.”

He held you closely to his side as you walked to queue up in the line. As you waited, your ears were filled by the roaring of the ride as it twisted and turned around the waiting path accompanied by the screams of the riders strapped into their seats. You tensed up as the anxiousness you felt increased. Jackson could feel it as he held you and turned to rub your shoulders for you to relax. His arms then wrapped around you and he kissed your temple. “This will be fun,” he repeated to reassure you.

Minutes that felt like hours passed and you were finally waiting at the side of the tracks for the next empty train to board. When it finally pulled up, you nervously stepped in and took your seat as Jackson followed behind you. The safety bars were secured by the ride technician and you clinged on to Jackson’s hand as if your life depended on it.

The ride then slowly took off as it turned a short corner before climbing the track to take its first drop. “Jackson,” you said to him as you took the climb, “I’m thinking this may be a really bad idea.” You looked over to him and swore he looked a bit pale.

He smiled his usually cool smile. The ride was seconds away from the top. “Don’t worry, babe. I got yyyyyyoooouuuuuuuuuu!” Jackson screamed as the train dropped for the first plunge. You screamed along with him.

After a few more twists and loops, your screams were mixed with laughter. More so for the fact that Jackson was gripping your hand harder than you were his and his screams were indescribable. You didn’t want to laugh at the fact that your boyfriend sounded like he was probably scared to death at this point, but it was adorable knowing that he was the one that was so brave in the beginning.

Jackson let out one last scream as the ride finally slowed down as it started to pull back into the passenger gates for the next set of thrill seekers ready for their turn on the ride. You let out a laugh and smiled at him. He met your eyes and forced a smile on his very pale face.

“You OK, baby?” you asked Jackson.

“I’m sure my life just flashed before my eyes,” he replied. You laughed at his response. The safety bars lifted and you and Jackson got out of the train. You giggled at how Jackson’s legs were unsteady as he leaned on you for support while you walked towards the exit.

“Thank you for being so brave. You were right. It was fun,” you said as you tiptoed and gave Jackson a kiss for his reward. “But how about we just stick to the carousel and arcade games for the rest of our visit?”

Jackson chuckled and kissed your forehead. “Best idea ever.”
