Listen. I love pathetic men as much as the next guy BUT CYPHER DOES NOT LISTEN TO MITSKI—
HAVE YOU SEEN HIS CANON PLAYLIST ??????
THIS GUY LISTENS TO AUTOTUNE RAP.
With that said, I’m gonna analyse him based on his actual playlist now.
There’s 3 main categories of what he listens to:
Chill or upbeat English Music
Arabic Rap
Chill Instrumentals
Sadly I can’t understand the Arabic music, so I’ll be basing this off the other two categories. If someone could provide English translations to the Arabic songs I’ll make a part 2 to this! For now, here’s my thoughts.
The World Is Mine (Whole World Ahead)
This is most certainly reflects his period pre-protocol. Not in a sad way, but it shows his time as a criminal. It could be about him doing illegal shit with his wife as his partner in crime. It could be about living poor and getting those luxuries any means possible. In any case, it shows how he doesn’t care for the law or abide by it with any regard. He looks to the future, what could be, and he chooses to move forward than look back.
It Runs Through Me
This could be him more reminiscing about his wife while already in Protocol. It’s looking back fondly but at the same time appreciating where he is now. He knows his roots and how he can never let go of them, but it’s not a chain rather a trail. You can’t take it away, but his experience gives him the clarity in the moment to make action. Again, this song reflects his carefreeness as well. He seems to really like having fun.
Nightrider
This is the second song by Tom Misch on his playlist, which isn’t that important but I just love Tom Misch and I’m very happy his playlist made me find him.
This highlights how he’s living a much more expensive life in Protocol. He can afford expensive things like his teas and trips to other places without worrying. But it’s also a reminder he’s working for this. He hunts as the job, tracks targets down, shakes information out of people. And he enjoys it.
Timeless
This one is the only “sad” English song here. It’s haunting. It’s the pain that looms over him timelessly. His wife is gone, in one way or another, and he can’t help but think of her. He can’t help but remember her. It’s bittersweet, because she’s wonderful as she always was. This is also the last song in the playlist. Maybe it’s because he wants to keep this buried.
Swingtheory
This is the first out of the two instrumental songs. Despite it’s tech-y tone, it’s human underneath. There’s sounds of breathing. Hidden under intentionality and structure, there is a man. There is someone alive. He is alive, and breaths air no different to you or I.
Mental Acupuncture
Acupuncture is the type of alternative medicine where you insert needles at specific points in the body. It isn’t based on science. However, with the context of Cypher’s abilities, the name of the song could imply how he inserts himself into the minds of his enemies. He learns them, knows exactly what to do to make them respond in certain ways. He catches patterns and knows how to make people repeat them, just like how the song repeats certain sections almost like glitches.
In conclusion, he seems like he’s a lot more chill or portrays himself as such than most people think. He’s mischievous, he likes having fun, he’s aware of his past and how it haunts him but he’s able to live in the moment and enjoy the things he never could before. And at heart, he’s still a street kid that listens to autotune rap.
Let me know if any of you have thoughts to add on to this or think I’m wrong in any sections!
Also, as a bonus, here’s a playlist I made him based on his canon one
Buncha “let’s rob a bank and fuck around” energy along with more chill stuff and even a tech instrumental, enjoy ^ ^
#Btw if you’ve made him a playlist with Mitski that’s totally cool and chill and good for you! Have as much fun as you want :]#valorant#nameless ranting#cypher#cypher valorant#valorant cypher#valorant lore#valorant playlist#spotify#character analysis#cypher analysis#amir el amari

Are there any other agents you associate with an animal?
I mean, not in the character-analysis-y way that I associates stray cats with Viper, but as far as vibes go?
Clove - Ferret (and butterflies I guess, but that’s just because they’re literally associated with butterflies in-game)
Fade - Raccoon (or, to be honest, also cat)
Neon - Cheetah (not just because of the speed thing, but also because cheetahs are anxious as hell and I find that fitting lmao)
Reyna - Wolf
Sage - Polar bear
Cypher - Fox
Omen - Raven (or an abused and neglected dog tbh)
Anyway yeah that’s all I can think of off the top of my head :D

CYPHER MASTERPOST /////// BYCHANCE
🍆🏀🐅
🗝⸮₎₎⁾⁾⸝⁺⋆。゚⋆⸜﹒⋯﹒what is Bychance?
(If you're already familiar with this & just want to see my posts, skip to the next section.)
Bychance is the ship between Will Byers + Chance the Jock from Stranger Things, the famous TV Show first released in 2016 and with its 5th and final season coming out this year, 2025.
The ship was initially born from a vague leak ("Will Byers is reported to have a new love interest in season 5") and then people started joking about it as a crackship.
However, me being an obsessed Stranger Things fan (lol), it wasn't long until I started noticing some very weird patterns in the show & other official canon materials.
Mind you, I ship Byler (Will Byers + Mike Wheeler). I also think Byler is endgame.
So, I thought I was going crazy. But still... just like I once couldn't unsee the mountains of Byler evidence, I now couldn't unsee the insane, disguised, but ultimately undeniable & widespread Bychance foreshadowing.
I slowly started to make sense of a few scattered storytelling patterns & made some initial posts treating Bychance as a serious (passing & non-endgame) possibility for season 5.
As expected, most people either thought it was ridiculous or that I was joking. 😏 Some of them even got offended & hurt in behalf of Will, Mike, or Byler as a ship.
Others found the theory surprisingly believable. Some (such as me) even consider it essential to Will's, Mike's & Byler's arc.
And soon, there would be a new Stranger Things superfan making brilliant detailed additions & continuations to the Bychance Theory™ — @ven0moir. I highly recommend that everyone checks out their jaw-dropping posts too.
Ever since then, me, them & a bunch of other people have been finding, digging, thinking, & building upon each other to clock some major missing puzzle pieces that the Stranger Things / Byler fandom has been wondering about for years.
By now, we are not only suspicious, but certain in our prediction that Bychance is indeed happening— in the form of a temporary situationship with the narrative purpose of a plot device for Will (& Mike)'s character development & ultimately, Byler endgame.
So, without further ado, you're free to check the Bychance posts & reblogs I compiled in the next sections below!
🗝⸮₎₎⁾⁾⸝⁺⋆。゚⋆⸜﹒⋯﹒my Bychance posts
💡 Brokeback Mountain, Mexico & Bychance — I detail how Byler's story took inspiration from the most iconic queer movie ever, Brokeback Mountain (2004), & how it inevitably involves a "Mexico betrayal" arc. Themes: Jealousy, Sombrero hat, “Día de los Muertos”, Starcourt, (Spicy!) Mexican Food, Native Culture, Mayan Myth, Thunderbird, Camazotz, Casting Choices, "C in Spanish", Should I Stay Or Should I Go.
💡 Mexican Food is Bychance Foreshadowing — Themes: Burritos, Nachos, Taco Bell, Jealous Mike, Will Byers' s5 Arc, Drug Dealing, Darker Themes & Prediction of S5 Byler Development.
💡 Will's Soft Spot for "Tigers" — The way it's literally impossible that these consistently repeated clues are just a "random coincidence" (as alleged by many).
💡 Bychance -> Byler Transition Foreshadowed In "Rise of Hellfire!" Comic — I read the "Stranger Things x Dungeons & Dragons: The Rise of Hellfire" (2025) official comic issue #2 & found this little gem. As Mike finally agrees / 'makes a pact' with Eddie to join Hellfire, the background poster changes from a Tiger to a full flat green. This symbolizes Mike finally embracing the queer identity & lifestyle ("going to Hell"), while officially starting to date Will. Tiger = Bychance, Green = Byler.
💡 That One Erica/Jason Scene Is Bychance Foreshadowing — The OG serious Bychance post with 250+ notes. My first. Mandatory read.
💡 Chance Is (Partly?) A Creation From Mike's Psyche — According to the ST "Manifestation Theory".
💡 Bychance Foreshadowing in 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' ST Comic — My second (or third?) Bychance post. One of the old ones. While reading the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Stranger Things (2023) official comic, I noticed some weird & otherwise unecessary patterns.
💡 My Bychance Trilogy — Small & fun initial 'masterpost' I made for my first three Bychance posts. It features the iconic Noah Schnapp "¡Hola!" Flirty Sombrero video.
🗝⸮₎₎⁾⁾⸝⁺⋆。゚⋆⸜﹒⋯﹒my Bychance written reblogs
FOR THESE, YOU WILL NEED TO SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM OF EACH POST — AS WRITTEN REBLOGS ARE REPLIES TO ORIGINAL POSTS BY OTHER PEOPLE — AND THEREFORE MY CONTRIBUTION SITS AT THE END OF THEM.
🔃(reblog) Tigers (Chance) VS. Falcons (Mike) — Very juicy (& long-ish) reblog I am extremely proud of. Mentions of "Timeline Theory" & how Lucas's S4 basketball arc foreshadows Will's s5 arc (& Bychance). Themes: Partying, Drinking / Drugs, Betrayal, Hasty Loss of Virginity, Hangover / Regret / Disillusionment, Eddie-Mike Parallels, Witch-Hunts, "Playing On Both Teams" / Spying, "Split In Half" Karmic Irony, Hurting, Understanding & Forgiveness (Running Up That Hill).
🔃(reblog) Reawakening Past Trauma Through Pain, Predators (Tigers & Falcons), Prey (Deers & Rabbits), & Chance's Locker — Continuation of the previous reblog. Themes: Chrissy, Death of Innocence, Clues in "Lucas On The Line" ST book, Connection to Romance / Sexuality, First Times, “jock #2 locker” BTS picture, Basketball, "Physical Science" / "Anatomy" parallel, Cars, Sketches vs. Paintings, Pretending / Acting "Tougher", Parallels to S1 Nancy, "Deer"-"Fag" Connection.
🔃(reblog) 'Stranger Things' / 'Twin Peaks' Parallels & Bychance Age-Gap — I heavily recommend this reblog. Still stand by it to this day. Themes: Wardrobe Similarities, Archetypal Parallels: Laura Palmer = Will = 'Mysterious Vanished Final Girl', James Hurley = Mike = 'Tragic Heroic 'Romeo' Knightly Dreamer', Bobby Briggs = Chance = ''Tough Bad Boy' But Deep-Down Sensitive Drug Dealer Jock'. Lonnie Parallels, Unhealthy Coping Mechanisms, Will's 'Undeserving' Belief.
🔃(reblog) Motels & Locker Notes: Diving Into 'Puzzle Tales' ST Game, 'Hawkins Horrors' ST Book, Blood, Ritual Gone Wrong, Secret Persona, Trees, Spiders — This reblog is... a lot. But a lot of good stuff. In short, it discusses how Will's secret encounters & eventual loss of virginity to Chance (something that will probably go wrong) are foreshadowed in the show, the 'Puzzle Tales' ST mobile game & the 'Hawkins' Horrors' ST book.
🔃(reblog) Halloween is Bychance Foreshadowing (vs. AV Club being Mike) — Themes: AV Club, Scary Pumpkins, Boyce, “Trick or Treat!”, Short-Lived 'Spooky' Fun, One Night Stand.
🔃(reblog) S4 Cafeteria, Creel Stained Glass Door, Intertwined Red Roses, Romeo & Juliet, Unintentionally Ruinous Matchmaking by Robin & Steve, Orange & Keys — Very crucial read. I sincerely apologize for the all caps (I was too excited). Sitting right in opposition to s4 school cafeteria Mike (foreshadowing a 'rival'), there's a Chance lookalike. I also expand on what the Creel House means according to 'Manifestation Theory'. #Suffer Brothers
🔃(reblog) The S3 Rain Fight & Castle Byers Destruction Foreshadows a More Serious S5 Byler Argument & Will 'Destroying' His Virginity As Self-Harm — I explore how Will's trauma, loneliness, impulsivity, anger & spite always lead to hasty & unhealthy coping mechanisms / decisions / actions, & how we will probably witness a new, shocking version of that behavior pattern in s5. Also mention of Phonegate.
🔃(reblog) Bychance = "By Chance" = "Simple Dumb Luck" — "It's not fate, it's not destiny", ...as Mike would say.
🔃(reblog) Why The 'Problematic' Bychance Age-Gap Is On Purpose — It aligns with Will's character arc, his past trauma & the Stranger Things themes of cycles & loops (Lonnie was much older than Joyce too).
🔃(reblog) “Chance Did Something Horrible” & “Will Wouldn’t” Arguments — Responding to a bychance-skeptical anon (Ven0moir post). VERY important read. I also extensively talk about the narrative importance of Bychance for the plot & the Tigers vs. Hellfire conflict.
🔃(reblog) Bychance Could Be A Rooting-For-Byler-Inducing Strategy — Maybe the writers are using bychance partly as a tool to make Byler 'look better' in the eyes of the general audience, anti-bylers & even homophobes.
🔃(reblog) The Importance of Bychance to Will, Mike, Byler & Stranger Things — One of my first replies to Ven0moir. #Murray to Joyce: ‘experimenting sExUaLLY’ #while Joyce makes a horrified face
🔃(reblog) S5 Mike & Will Are Both Hitting Rock Bottom — Also related to Bychance & Byler development.
🔃(reblog) Bychance Marketing — How I think Bychance will be treated in pre-s5 promotion.
🔃(reblog) Chance's Actor is Friends w/ Other ST Actors — And how these characters are prominent, relevant & here to stay (for s5).
🔃(reblog) Mike Catching Bychance In The Act & Duffers Being Messy — Me fangirling under Ven0moir's post.
🗝⸮₎₎⁾⁾⸝⁺⋆。゚⋆⸜﹒⋯﹒bychance-related fandom drama
💡(fandom drama) My View On Tumblr Fandom Theorizing — Relevant for any fandom theory really, but I specifically felt the need to post this because of some Bylers harassing & talking shit about Bychance theorizers in the #bychance tag.
💡(fandom drama) Angry Rant On The Haterzz (lol) — Skippable tbh.
🔃(reblog) (fandom drama) "Mexican Chance" Controversy — I respond to an angry ST Tumblr user who got offended by my suggestion & theory that Chance is Mexican / of Mexican heritage.
🔃(reblog) (fandom drama) Why Bychance DOES Belong In The Byler Tag — My response to an annoyed Byler who thinks otherwise.
🔃(reblog) (fandom drama) Why Bychance Is Purposefully Unhealthy & NOT A Crackship — Response to a confused Byler fan in the #bychance tag.

I will say that if I'm still around tomorrow we're going to have to figure out some quick adjustments to our Halloween costume. I'm willing to do a lot of things for Allora and the kids, but wearing a flower crown and fairy wings is not one of them.
#text post#my post#i might be willing to go as a creepy doll even though it's a bit too feminine for me#but a fairy princess? fuck no#it's so interesting to be here after allora came out of dormancy#bc a lot of aspects of our life are so soft these days and designed to make her happy#which is wonderful! making allora safe and happy in the internal world is literally my job#but internally i get to do that by patrolling with a big sword#externally it apparently means fairy princess costumes which. not for me lol#it is interesting to observe how much lior has changed though#i know they wanted to be more like allora and to fuse with her and i am here to report that they've been more successful than they think#bc we haven't felt this cold and angry and powerful and sadistic and well cypher-like in a very very long time#instead lior/everyone has really embraced allora's whole. thing. which is what they want so it's good#even if it temporarily feels strange to me bc i have temporarily unfused#and can't help but think about how stupidly vulnerable it makes us#this started as a joke post about halloween costumes but has turned into self analysis. whatever#going to bed now i guess#cypher speaks#did stuff

I love how Bill Cypher culminates every single aspect of Gravity Falls.
Recently, I was listening to "it's gonna get weird" and it got me thinking about how the final arc actually gives a resolution to something Gravity Falls explores on its own: Normal vs Weirdness
youtube
Gravity falls is a show that centers itself around Dipper and Mabel's adventures on the titular city, as they live their summer facing the weirdest and most uncanny things known to man, all the while also being regular kids (as far as the Pines family can be regular, at least).
Where this gets really interesting is on the final arc. Gravity Falls really prepares everything for a grand send off, both for the characters and for the audience. As Dipper and Mabel are both approaching the disappointing but inevitable reality that summer is nearing its end, the Pines twins both start their arc with a flaw: refusing to move on and indulging more and more.
Gravity falls was not only bold, but it was scaling as time goes on, as any story tends to.
I mean, you guys remember the Northwest mansion episode, right?

We went from gnomes kidnapping mabel to marry her to this.
Fast forwarding to the final arc, we have Dipper and Mabel with no intention of ever deescalating.

Mabel refuses to let go on a temporal level: Feeling the inevitable march of time as summer TIME is ending, losing access to her friends and the idea of getting older and no longer experiencing the fun moments of childhood, Mabel wishes for everything to stay where they are in gravity falls, as kids, remaining engaging on the same things forever.
Mabel doesn't want to MOVE ON from gravity falls (just like we didn't)

Dipper on the other hand is actually on A VERY DANGEROUS PATH as well: He is called by Ford to stay in Gravity Falls and study these anomalies.
You know, the same anomalies that almost killed people over and over? And they keep escalating? NEED I REMIND YOU THAT HE WAS TECHNICALLY DEAD WHEN HE GOT TURNED INTO WOOD?

Weirdness in gravity falls always felt to me akin to what "Horror" was in most folk tales, urban legends and so forth. It's mystical. It draws us further in, but it's also dangerous, deadly and too much of it can lead to our demise.
Dipper was considering not only STAYING in gravity falls, but DIVE HEADFIRST INTO MORE DANGER, LIKE FORD. THE SAME GRAND UNCLE WHO MADE THE DEAL WITH BILL CYPHER TO BEGIN WITH, WHO GOT TRAPPED IN A FOREIGN DIMENSION FOR MANY YEARS (by accident, but that's his line of work).
And then comes BILL CYPHER

This triangle's sole motivation is to cause MORE and MORE weirdness.
AND HE HAS ABSOLUTELY NO BREAKS.

Bill Cypher, designwise and plotwise answer the question: "What happens if we indulge with occult/weird/bizarre stuff endlessly?"
To Bill, Gravity Falls was BORING. it wasn't WEIRD ENOUGH. His goal was to unleash as much weirdness as possible. The fact that he's also based on the All Seeing Eye, a symbol very involved in conspiracy theories and the like only enhance that.
The obsession with weirdness, the bizarre and the exceptional makes one unappreciative of the world around them and Bill embodies that to the limit. No weirdness at all is boring. A little bit spices up life, but too much and it's stressful or harmful. Pacifica's father can attest to that.

Bill Cypher forces all the character to face the weirdmagedon in order to survive and what do they do? They decide enough is enough and after they defeat Bill they say "No more weird stuff". There's a limit and that's that. It was fun, but it already got to be too much. They want new things, new experiences and they move on.
Summer was great, it was weird, it was fun.
But Dipper and Mable have to go. They got more things to do in life.
Not only new experiences, but different ones as well. If they latched on to the weirdness forever, they would be one dimentional adults who can only talk about weird stuff when they grew up. Instead, they had the adventure of a lifetime and will live many other stories as they grow

That may have only been cause he was never exposed to a nice triangle
He very well could have gotten complicated with bill
Hell, they probably had more chemistry
What with both being rejected by their society(parents) for their mindset
Bill is disfigured by euclidean standards but he was way more upset about people not seeing his way and letting him be
Stans nature was normal but not as flashy or useful as Ford, ending up with worse prospects
Both were disregarded for their intrinsic nature
Bill and Stan are both con people who try to skim of what they can get
Both are impulsive and that impulsiveness lead to destruction of their family relationships and general relationships
Stan broke Ford's machine, bill broke his dimension
They don't match each other freak but I'd argue bills accessive freak is a coping mechanism for his denial of what happened in the incident, he doesn't want to believe the world is so fragile everything can just go up in flames at a touch, cause then why make bonds, he needs to feel loved but if he admits that things are so fragile he can't justify having any sort of twisted social interactions
They're both con people, vaguely apathetic grifters and people with issues that tend towards not addressing said issues unless forced to
Bills trauma severely impares his ability to comprehend other people clearly, so caught up in his own stride he can't see others unless it's waved in his face
Stan is the same
I think bills powers enabling Stan's self destructive tendencies could create a very different toxic situationship
And bill has an incentive, he can see himself in Stan a little, if he is in a situation where he's powerless, say against time baby or stuck in theraprism than he would project that onto Stan and then shove cash and anything he wants at him so he doesn't need to be reminded of his own problems
Bill could totally enable all of Stan's addictions while simultaneously subconsciously maybe showing bill how much he's wasting away by letting his guilt and self hate consume him
Which would both make him feel understanded and uncomfortable, further fueling their linked downward spiral
Bill would totally egg on Stan to give into his impulses
Stan: you used to have a crush on THE TRIANGLE???
Ford: I WAS IN A BAD PLACE AND HE WAS NICE TO ME :,(
Stan: I've been in a bad place my entire life and I have yet to want to fuck a triangle, Stanford.
Ford: STOPPPP
#stanford pines#stan pines#stanley pines#gravity falls#bill cipher#billford#in the past.#billstan#stanbill#stan you ain't safe#you never were#you could have totally gotten situationshiped by that shape#long post#analysis#bill cypher analysis

i am sort of sick of the mythology of fanon in life series fandom tbh like it was a useful shorthand but it has morphed into almost an indistinguishable cypher that is inaccessible to those outside the depths of fandom. i think it's inevitable that mcyt fans latch onto things like that, for sure, and even in interpreting canon there is no way to guarantee a universal truth even in traditional media analysis. but you reach a point at which its almost a fandom of a fandom, and when that becomes divorced from the source it can be somewhat exhausting. this is not to say there arent tropes i enjoy that are insular, i am not immune to fanon, sure. but i am... somewhat wishing for more folks to bring some thought to fanwork instead of treading the same ground repeatedly. sigh. perhaps its uncharitable to say this but ive been thinking about it so now it is said.

I’d LOVE to write Cypher as a yandere, like genuinely I think it would be super fun and there’d be a lot of fun ways to twist the trope!…
But at the same time I understand writing him as such would be the ultimate mischaracterisation of him.
Think about it— In the world where his family is alive, we hear NOTHING about him keeping them under lock and key. We don’t hear about him trapping them and keeping them safe under his watch. We hear about how he CAN’T see them. We hear about how the safest they can be is as far away as possible from him.
Cypher knows that the more you bury something, the more appetising it becomes. The safest place his family can be is amongst the masses and hiding in plain sight.
What’s more suspicious? A lady at the market or a lady locked in a cage?
Exactly.
Cypher’s sacrifice is for their safety And their enjoyment. Locking them away only puts them in more danger. Keeping them close puts them in more danger. Their safety is in normalcy. Not with him.
#This doesn’t mean I won’t write him a yandere for fun one day though#I’d love to see the fucked up shit he’d do if given the chance 7w7#valorant#nameless ranting#cypher#cypher valorant#valorant cypher#yandere#yandere cypher#valorant lore#character analysis#cypher analysis

Salutations, Omninet. My name is EPIPHANY, archivist of makteba Erdaf. I keep many secrets for the Albatross, and for the galaxy as a whole, for in secrets, there is a shield. The young one who ordinarily manages this account is not in a mental state to do so following the revelation of one such secret, and so it falls to the rest of us to do so until such time as they are ready once again.
Much has transpired on the Omninet of late. I thought I might offer my services of archiving these events, so that we may all see clearer. The events detailed below are in mostly, but not strictly, chronological order.
Phase 0 (Rise of the Mercenary Queen): One or more individuals calling themselves "Backtalker" attempted covert activities using the "Intercompany Brawl" between CMC and MSMC as cover. This led to many forces, including the Albatross and some manner of greywash entity converging on CMC's base, the Sylvia's Requiem, with conflicting goals. As of the present, we are attempting to contact the Albatross squadron that was sent to determine more information, but it appears that for the most part, some resolution has been reached, and all correspondence from CMC after this point has included the signoff "Glory to the Mercenary Queen." DoJ/HR Operative "Karateka" has written some analysis, in cypher. A decoding is here.
Phase 1 (Death to the Mercenary Queen): Yesterday, several omninet blogs received communications from an unknown sender, that seemed to be from the same sender, based on the formal yet menacing tone, and the typically-used signoff "Death to the Mercenary Queen". The blogs in question also all seem to be Lancers tangentially connected to CMC in some way:
Tigersharko; Z-341-A; Ward; Gray
Phase 2 [Gifts]: At approximately the same time or slightly later, even more omninet blogs, including many completely unaffiliated with CMC, received gifts from an unknown sender. One such gift was also signed with "Death to the Mercenary Queen", suggesting they were sent by the same individual. Many of these gifts seem carefully selected for their recipients, demonstrating a close eye for detail, including possibly knowledge of information that has not been shared publicly on the Omninet. They also necessitate incredible access to a wide array of resources, and an uncanny ability to deliver them promptly. Many of these gifts were delivered in a [particular way], while others were not, suggesting that perhaps multiple senders were behind them:
[Gray]; [Headlock]; [Albatross]; [Z-341-A]; [XIII-E]; [MSMC-796th]; Gambit; Operator; Pyroclast; Brigand
Phase 3 [Mysteries and] {Ciphers}: Significantly later in the day, several omninet blogs received yet more messages, by far the most cryptic, including a few instances of ciphers. These messages proved to be stressful for many recipients, causing some rather baseless speculation that they were sent by RA:
Tigersharko; CMC; Headlock; CMC Again; Ashton; Operator; Gray; Teardown; Pyroclast; Redwingpilot;
Phase 4 >\\ A short time after these messages finished, other messages started anew. They were similar in their strangeness, but clearly different, being much briefer and formatted in a distinct manner:
Ashton; UnshackledHorusShitpostBot; Pyroclast; Albatross; Brigand; Milo Wells; Ashton Again; Gambit; Gambit Again
ooc note: So myself and most of the other Lancer Blogs spent most of last night descending into madness and making this. It was an absolute blast, we had so much fun. At this point we know there were at least 3 people behind these, probably not coordinated. (@ciitrusbeetle was behind phase 3, and at least one of us was behind two of the [gifts]). You can join us on discord here!

Adam Taurus Stans confuse me. Like, of all characters to die on they chose the Worst Guy in the show, and will swear up and down how cool he is on account of “black and red Iaido sword fighting is cool.”
For the exact same reason they get mad at the RWBY girls for developing outside of their initial seemingly two dimensional personalities. RWBY early on managed to attract the kind of people to its fanbase that subsist entirely on shit like Sword Art Online (or worse). Anime where the girls exist solely to be assembly line waifus distinguishable entirely by a small handful of endlessly repeatable shallow personality types so ubiquitous they literally have their own names
Category:Dere Types | Dere Types Wiki | Fandom Likewise the men exist solely to be avatars of pure, shameless power fantasy. Bland, empty cyphers the male audience can more easily project themselves onto. We call it bad writing, they call it the entire point. A lot of people like to use Jaune as their self insert but he is a gigantic loser and some people aren’t into that. Emphasis on some because the entire harem genre is built on loser protagonists which is why this fandom has so much of that going on. But still a lot of people were waiting for their Kirito. A badass edgy sigma male Gary Stu. Ren's much less of a loser than Jaune but also very much does not fit into that category. Wouldn't you know it though, there is exactly one other relatively age appropriate male character in the show from the start and he totally does meet that criteria if that's what you're looking for. In fact he fits the bill suspiciously well... Before we knew anything about him, before he'd had any screentime outside of the trailer and one five second long ending reveal in Volume 2, Adam Taurus had already been pre-selected as the designated male power fantasy self insert by a huge swathe of the audience. And to be fair that was intentional on the part of the show. It's not an accident that Adam is a walking goulash of things weebs are hardwired to have wet dreams over. The entire point of him was to brutally deconstruct the exact archetype of character he represents. The problem is we're dealing with media literacy on par with the average deep sea invertebrate. So season 3 happens and all the normal people went "oh wow that Adam Taurus guy is a creepy abusive psycho stalker and a complete monster, I can't to see him get his comeuppance" but all of the guys I've been talking about were instead sat there like "...so when does the power fantasy begin?" Then by the time they realized two entire seasons later that they were the ones being made fun of they were already very committed to this character. Channels like Eruptionfang had already put out playlists of media analysis videos examining the complexities of this completely made up version of the character that existed solely in the realm of their imagination who, were he ever real, would be the perfect sigma male antihero they were so desperately waiting for. Bit hard to just accept you were wrong by that point.

Day 860
@danco111 put in the hashtags of the reblog on my last post that finding Room 46 isn’t bad but is “when it *looks* like some of the puzzles need noita community-level analysis” and it suddenly clicked.
In Blue Prince there are music sheets scattered around the manor, and while the puzzle is a basic word cypher, there are verses that seem to hold more meaning. And when I read the tag, it reminded me of this verse:
“The ones of you who often assume That you alone can solve this tune, Are likely going to get your due And all the rage that will ensue While working on this simple clue”
Which in turn reminded me something else about the game. If you play the game to find Room 46, you’ll find a dedication to Christopher Mason. Christopher Mason is most well known for writing and illustrating a book called MAZE (published in 1985), which Scoutmaster Demi on Youtube explains was a large inspiration for Blue Prince.
In fact there is a Gallery Room in Blue Prince dedicated to Christopher Mason and his illustrations.
And this is important because MAZE today has an online community of people who solve this book together. That’s because there’s a lot of puzzle to this book beyond just solving its original premise which was to get through the house in the book within 16 steps. According to the Into the Abyss website when it was created, there were only 21 solutions online to the +116 puzzles that exist in the book.
It is very likely that Tonda Ros, the developer of Blue Prince, wanted players as a community to get together and theorize about the puzzles that exist in Blue Prince. Which rooms have puzzles, and what do those puzzles mean, and of course, how do you solve those puzzles?

Ororo, how did you get here?
I wonder if we'll get a solid, in character explanation for why Storm would become a cop (Avenger) again. I'm writing an analysis on From The Ashes (so far) and while I'm clear-eyed about where most characters and books are at, I really need to know if they're even going to bother explaining why Storm would leave Arakko (oh yeah, there's still a million mutants on the red planet) and if they do to what degree. Sure she can just bail off screen but it'd be deeply out of character. She's a member of the Great Ring (or at least she was, occupying Magneto's empty Seat of Loss after she yielded the Regency to Lodus Logos.) She's the most impactful political and cultural figure in a generation. She was the leader of the winning faction in the Genesis War. She had a lover, who was caring for two orphans. I think they were living together. She was happy. I can't recall any ties to Atlanta, but it doesn't really matter. Without serious explanation she's going to look fickle, like she's shirking her duty. A duty she chose, too. Fought multiple wars over. She's getting a solo book, there's totally room to do it properly.
The other big ting for me is Magneto. The First Krakoan age put him through the ringer - his character arc was objectively given the most attention and subjectively the most satisfying. Even without Uncanny X-Men #700 he was poised to shake up the status quo but when you include his chat with Charles that's a promise. A promise that needs to be paid off. Not just any old promise either - it's an ideological breakthrough five decades in the making! He's been kept in the background so far and I haven't really been able to judge whether that promise is being kept or not. I hope so but my expectations are low. It would be such tonal whiplash I can't even think of an analogy.
Interestingly both Max and Ororo were Of Arakko last time we got a close look. Magneto died defending Arakko, he has friends there. He is literally one of the society's heroes for slaying Tarn the Uncaring and The Hour Of Magneto/Judgement Day.

Yeah, that's right. *AIR HORN* *PUMPS FIST* He cares about the Arakki and they care about him. He'd want to pay his respects to the Fisher King and generally see how it's going. He lost his place on the Great Ring when he died and Vulcan blew up his house, but neither are especially important. Both planet and culture are dear to him. After X of Swords, in that brief period when the Arakki were on Earth, it was Magneto meeting with Isca about teething problems. 'Twas Magneto who spearheaded the Terraforming Operation, handling the communication/logistics and harvesting enough iron to bring the planet to life from the Khyber Belt. While he was doing that, Ororo was fighting Nameless to the death for the Noontide Seat.
I could honestly go on, but my point is these two especially are invested. (Roberto Da Costa too, but it seems the New Mutants are represented by Magik alone and Cypher looking like an idiot.) If that continuity is disregarded I'm going to have a problem with it. Honestly, if Arakko is there and not being used in any stories I'll be scratching my head. How do you go from terraforming planets to hated and feared on Earth as anything other than a regression? The geopolitical implications of it being there pretty much break the world they're selling us. They're telling us it's so dangerous for mutants that they're developing secret hand signals and Underground Railroad'ing. At least some mutants would move to fucking Mars. All countries would be at Defcon 1. Did the entire galactic council just forget Sol exists?
I'll stop there, save some for the actual essay instead of the rant lol. If you're enjoying it I couldn't be happier for you. I am struggling to, though, and I'm very wary of heartbreak. Maybe that's on me for how I manage my expectations. We shall see.
