“So how’s preschool going for Brodie?” You take a sip of your drink as you glance at Julia, “I know his first day was what, a few days ago?”
She lets out a laugh, glancing over at her husband with yours, “It’s.. going good actually. I thought it was going to be a tough, but he actually loves it.”
“How are you?” You stare at her and she looks at you with a smile, “I hate it. I hate how fast they grow up.”
You nod, “Yeah, I know what you mean.”
“So enough about that, when are you and Leo going to start trying for another?”
You let out a laugh, “Funny, you’re funny.” She leans in, “What? I’m serious.” You shrug, “He’s got his work, I have mine, Lincoln is enough for now.”
“You don’t even think about wanting another?” She tilts her head, “Two isn’t all that bad.”
You raise your brows, “Link is only two, so maybe within the next year I’ll change my mind?” You shrug again, “I don’t know.”
You look up as Sam and Leo walk up.
“Here, Julia. Take her. I have to go get Brodie.” Sam hands the small child to his wife, “He’s up there taking toys from other kids.”
“Can’t you get him to come down?” She asks and Sam sigh, “I’ve been trying. So I’m just going to go up.”
You smile at the baby girl looking at you and you look back over as Sam climbs within the netted step, “Brodie. You can’t just take stuff from other kids.”
Brodie whines and throws the toy, and Sam grows more stern, “Hey. We don’t, throw toys. That could really hurt someone. Come on. We’re going to sit with mom.”
“No!”
“Brodie.” Sam tilts his head, “Let’s go.”
“No! No!”
“Yes, now come on.” Sam grabs the child and wraps him in his arm as he climbs back down.
You blink, looking over to see Lincoln playing with your hair, “Hi, baby.” You reach over, taking him from Leo, “Did you bring his snacks?”
“Yes, I put them in the diaper bag, hold on.” Leo stands up and walks around you to unzip the bag, “Here, babe.” You take the small bag, “Thank you.” You smile at him and open it up, allowing Lincoln to grab a snack.
“Oh he loves those! Look at him chow down!” Julia laughs, “Are those the veggie puffs?”
You nod, “They’re his favorite. Does Quinn want one?” You hold out the bag and the girl starts to smile. Julia laughs, “I think she does.” She grabs a few out for her daughter and lays them on the table.
“She loves them, too!” You shake your head and look back over as Sam carries Brodie back over to the table, “You need to calm down, you can’t throw toys or take them away.” Sam says as he sits the fussing boy down next to his mom.
“No, Brodie. When you can play nice and share, we’ll let you go back and play, but for right now, you’re going to sit and calm down.”
Brodie sits down, pouting as Sam sits on the other side of him. He looks up at you, “Kids. They said it would be fun, right?”
“I believe they did, but I don’t think they meant all the time.” You laugh, looking over at Leo who is staring at his phone, “What is it?”
“They want me to go into work.”
“You’re supposed to have a week off.” You sigh, “Where do they need you to go?”
“Colorado.” He lays his phone down, “There’s a rig out there that needs work and apparently no one else can do it.”
“What do you have to do?” Julia asks, “Is it like an oil rig or something?”
He nods his head, “Yeah. Damn it.” He leans back, “I’ll have to leave tomorrow, I’ll be gone for a few days.” He looks at you, “Are you okay?”
You nod, “Yeah, I’ll be fine.” You point to Julia, “Well just hang out with the kids.”
“Oh shit.” Julia sighs, “I have to fly to Toronto tomorrow night to finalize this magazine that’s launching.”
“Oh right, the women’s one.” You tilt your head, “Well that’s okay. I’m sure Link and I can find something to do.” You look back at Leo, “It’s only for a few days. We’ve done longer.”
Leo kisses your head, “Yeah, you’re right.”

It was Saturday, two days since Leo left and two days since you seen Sam.
You knew you shouldn’t be thinking of him, you knew it was wrong. You were both married, but there was just something about Sam that just kept bringing your attention back to him.
You loved Leo, but things aren’t.. like they were? You knew having a baby would change things, you knew you would change, but you didn’t expect it to go downhill like you feel it’s going.
Your mind was racing as you were trying to get Lincoln down for his nap. Humming lowly as your hand gently patted his back.
You heard the vibration of your phone on the arm of the couch buzzing with an incoming call.
You moved over, sat down and picked it up.
“Hey, Sam.”
“Hey, I’m so sorry that this is last minute, but would by any chance be able to watch my kids for a little bit? I got called into work, something about an emergency meeting and my mom can’t get here in time.”
“Of course. I just need to get link around and then I’ll be on my way. I’ll try and be quick.”
“Okay, thank you thank you thank you.” Sam sighs, “I appreciate you. I’ll bring dinner on my way home, if you want.”
“Sounds good. See you soon.” You hang up and stand up, “Alright, honey. We’ll get you asleep in the car.”
A little bit later, you were pulling up to Sam’s. You grab your child and his diaper bag, and walk up to the door.
You’ve known Sam and Julia for years, so you didn’t feel the need to knock. You just walk in, calling out to Sam.
Brodie runs over to you, “y/n!”
“Hi, buddy!” You reach down, rubbing his head, “Ready to have a play date with Link?” He cheers as you set Lincoln down, and you look up to see Sam running down the steps, “Quinn is already down for her nap, Brodie had lunch.”
Your eyes move up his half unbuttoned shirt and you look up at him, “Perfect. Is there anything you want me to-“
“No.” He cuts you off, “You just, make yourself at home. Chill out. Whatever.” He laughs slightly, “I fucking hate this job.”
“Did they tell you what it was about?”
He shakes his head, his fingers moving swiftly to button up his shirt the rest of the way, “Nope. They just said we need to get there.”
He walks over, grabbing his jacket from the back of the chair and slipping his arms into the sleeves.
You couldn’t help but think, Sam looks good in a suit.
“Okay. Well don’t worry about rushing back here. I will make sure they’re both good.” You give him a smile and he nods, letting out a sigh, “Thank you so much for coming over. I’ll text you when I’m on my way home.”
You nod, watching as he bends down to give Brodie a hug, “I’ll see you later buddy, you be good for y/n.”
“I will!” Brodie giggles as Sam tickles his sides, “Dad! Stop it!” He laughs and laughs until Sam’s lets him go, “Alright. See you later.”
Sam walks by you, his hand lying on your side, “Thank you, again.”
You nod, “It’s no problem, really.”
He smiles, nodding before grabbing his keys and leaving. You turn back, watching Brodie play with Lincoln and you smile as you walk over.
You grab the baby monitor off of the counter and move to sit on the floor with the boys, playing along with them until Quinn wakes up.
»--•--«
It was about five o’clock. You had just gotten off the phone with Leo when Julia called.
“Are the kids being good for you?” Julia asks from the other end of the phone, “Brodie is playing nice?”
“Oh yeah, he’s playing really well with both link and Quinn.” You smile at the kids looking up at you and they giggle as they return back to playing, “Brodie is helping them build a big tower out of blocks. They both lose it laughing when he knocks it over.”
“That’s good.” She pauses, “I’m sorry Sam threw this on you.”
You furrow your brows, standing up to move away from the kids, “He didn’t throw it at me, Jules. He asked if I could and I could, so I did. I love your kids, so it’s no problem at all.”
“I appreciate you, thank you for- oh, I gotta go.” She hangs up without another word and you furrow your brows, “That was weird.”
“What was weird?” Brodie asks and you shake your head, “oh, nothing.” You smile at him, “I’m going to get started on making you guys dinner, do you know what you want?”
He gasps, “pa-sketti!”
“Spaghetti?” You ask with a laugh and he nods, “Yes, pa-sketti!”
You nod, “alright, pa-sketti it is.” You make your way into the kitchen and start making it. Every now and then you’ll check in on the kids, making sure they’re good before returning to the kitchen.
As the kids finish up dinner, you finally get a text from Sam, I’m so sorry that took a lot longer than I thought it would. I’m just now heading to my car, did you eat dinner yet?
You lean against the counter, pausing your clean up, The kids did, I made them Pa-sketti, per Brodie’s request. You set your phone down, making your way over to the table to get the kids cleaned up.
Once that was done, you checked your phone, smirking when you see Sam’s text, That’s not a shocker, he could eat that everyday if he could, but did you? I’m going to stop at The Hattan’s, text me what you want.
You sigh, thinking for a moment before texting him back your order. You bite your lip as you set your phone down, quickly snapping out of your thoughts.
No, no, you shake your head, it’s not like that.
You finish cleaning up before making your way upstairs with the kids. You know their bedtime routine, so you work on that.
As you’re getting them dressed for bed, you hear the door open and Brodie jumps up, “Dad! Dad!” He runs out of the room and you grab Lincoln and Quinn before heading back downstairs.
“Were you good?” Sam asks as he picks him up, “Did you get a bath?”
He nods and Sam looks at you, “You didn’t have to go all out.”
“I wanted to make it easier on you when you got home, especially after a meeting like that, it’s what friends do.” You give him a smile, more or less trying to convince yourself that’s all you and Sam will ever be.
He stares at you, almost like he did like you saying that, “Right, yeah. I’d do it for you.” He gives you a smile and looks at Brodie, “Alright dude, let’s go up and get you into bed.”
He sets the boy down and walks over to take Quinn from your arm, “Was she fussy at all?” He looks from her to you and you shake your head, “she was very giggly tonight.”
“Good, I forgot to tell you she’s cutting teeth, I was hoping she was fine.”
You nod, “She was perfect.”
Sam laughs slightly as he nods into the livingroom, “I guess he couldn’t hang.” You look over to see Lincoln sleep on the floor, “Oh my gosh.”
“You can put him up in Quinn’s room, we have the pack and play up.” He nods, “You need to eat.”
You sigh, “Right, yes.” You laugh slightly and Sam tilts his head, “I don’t mean to intrude, but is everything okay with you?”
“What do you mean?” You look at him and he shrugs, “I can explain once I get these two down for bed. Bring him up if you want.” He walk away, answering Brodie as he walks up the steps, “I’m coming, buddy. Hold on.”
You walk over, scooping up your son from the floor and slowly walking up the steps. You make your way into Quinn’s room and walk over to the pack and play.
Just as you lay him down, Sam comes in to lay down Quinn.
You glance over at him, your eyes following him in the light from the hall as he sways with her back and forth, his hand gently patting her back and you pull your lip between your teeth.
Sam leans over the crib railing to lay her down before standing back up. He points to the door and quietly walks out with you.
You make your way back downstairs and sit down at the table, Sam sitting across from you. He gets everything out and gets back up, “Do you want some wine?”
“Please.” You nod, “So, what did you mean?”
“I didn’t mean it, in a bad way, or anything.” He glances at you as he sets your glass down in front of you, “I just.. notice some things that are different.”
“I had a baby, Sam.” You argue, but he shakes his head, “Two years ago, and I don’t mean, with that.. I mean..”
“With Leo?”
He nods, “You seem, I don’t know how to explain it, more.. dim? I guess.”
“Dim?” You laugh slightly as you take a sip of your drink, “I mean, I’m a stay at home mom. That can take a lot out of you.”
“I’m sure it does, sweetheart, I just mean, like you don’t seem happy.” Sam tilts his head, “By any means, stop me if you don’t want-“
“I don’t think Leo finds me attractive anymore.” You blurt out, eyes burning at the fact that you’ve been dying to talk to someone about this for a while now, “Before I had Leo, when he was home from work, we’d go out, dinner dates, bar hopping, just hanging out like two teenagers, and then I got pregnant and it’s like he couldn’t accept the fact that I was going to change.”
Sam’s brows furrow, “It’s not like you could help that, though.”
“No, I know.” You sigh, “He was alright until I started showing and then it was like he didn’t want anything to do with me. I’ve brought it up and he just said that it was nerves about becoming a dad and that everything was going to change, but I just-“ you swallow, “Sorry that was a lot in a short amount of time.”
Sam shakes his head, “I asked, y/n. You’re fine.” He gives you a reassuring smile, “So is it still like that now?”
You nod, “He’s always working when he can, it’s like he doesn’t want to be home with me or Lincoln. And I know, I know he loves him, I just don’t know if he loves me.”
Sam’s face falls and he shakes his head, “I don’t think that’s the case. You’re the mother of his child.”
You shrug, shaking your head before downing the rest of your glass. Sam chuckles and gets up to grab the bottle, “Here.” He pours more into your glass and you nod, “Thanks.”
“Have you talked to Julia about any of this?” He sits down, “Actually, have you talked to her at all today?”
You nod, “Yes, I’ve talked to her today, no, not about any of this.”
“Hmm.” He nods, “Okay. She texted me once today and that was it.”
“She called me right after I got off the phone with Leo, and she like, it was weird, she was talking and then was like, I gotta go, and hung up right away.”
He shakes his head and takes a big swig of his wine, “Yeah, she’s been acting weird, too.”
“Sounds like we’re all just going through it, huh.” You laugh slightly and he nods, “Sure does seem that way.”
“A part of me feels like he has someone who hasn’t had a baby on the side, like someone who doesn’t disgust him when they find the confidence to change in front of him.”
“For what it’s worth, I think you’re beautiful. You’re a mom, a good mom at that, and I think that makes you even more attractive.” Sam smiles slightly and you can feel your cheeks burning, “You really think that?”
He nods, “I do.”
You chew on your cheek, looking down before continuing to work on your dinner, “So, enough about my issues, what’s going on with you?”
“You mean work, or Julia?” He looks at you and you shrug, “Whatever you want to talk about.”
He takes a deep breath, “Well, this meeting was about someone who quit and took stuff that they shouldn’t with them, and with me being a higher up boss, I had to be there and go over every thing we have in office. I hated it.”
“Oh gosh, yeah, that sounds not only boring, but brutal.”
He nods, “Yeah, and then Julia.” He shrugs, “To outsiders, we seem normal. But when it’s just us, I don’t even know what we are.”
You were shocked to see that Sam felt the same exact way you felt, or almost the same.
“I know what you mean.” You nod, “Right before you called me, I was thinking about everything and thats literally what I-“
Sam seemed just as shocked, “Really?”
You nod, “Yeah.” You laugh, “it’s, crazy. I know.”
He shakes his head, “No, no. Not at all.”
You let out a sigh, “It’s really nice to know that you aren’t alone with stuff.” He nods, “Right, and I mean, I consider us really good friends, so to me, that’s even better that it’s us, I mean.” He laughs, “Not that it’s what we’re going through but-“
“I know what you mean.” You laugh quietly, “People we’re comfortable with, who we don’t really have any shame with I mean, I knew you when you were in band, in highschool.”
“Hey, hey. Let’s not bring up my geek phase, okay.” He laughs and you shrug, “I always thought you were kind of cute.”
He raises his brows, “Whoa, hey. No need to lie to try and make me feel better.”
“I’m not lying!” You laugh, “I swear! I always thought you were too good for me.”
“Okay. Now, you’re lying.” He laughs as he brings his glass up, his eyes staying on you as you gasp, “I’m not lying! You can ask my friend, Everly. She had to listen to me talk about you. She kept pushing me to tell you, but you were caught up on Julia that I just settled for being friends.”
“Being high school sweethearts isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.” He shrugs, laughing slightly, “I probably, no i definitely would have dropped her for you.”
“Now you’re lying.” You shake your head and he sighs, “I’m not. I liked you, too. Hell..” he laughs, “Maybe I still do.”
Your heart skips a beat and you tilt your head, “You know..” you swallow, “Since we’re claiming, to be honest here.” You smirk, “I may or may not still have my crush on you.”
“Hmm.” He nods, “What should we do about that?”
Your head snaps to the steps as you hear Lincoln fussing on the monitor. You stand up, “I’ll go settle him down before he wakes up Quinn.”
Sam nods and watches as you walk towards the steps.
You make your way up, quietly making your way into the room, and you can’t help but smile as you’re patting the back of your son, “Shh, it’s okay.” You whisper quietly, “It’s okay.”
After a minute or two passes, you sneak away, stepping out of the room and when you turn, Sam is standing there.
You lock eyes for a few seconds before he quickly walks up to you, his lips smashing onto yours.
You’re taken a back at first, knowing what you’re doing is wrong, but damn does it ever feel so right. You bring your hands up to his shirt, gripping tightly as you deepens the kiss.
He bends down, picking you up to carry you into his room.
He reaches behind him, closing the door while your hands work at popping open the buttons on his shirt. He walks you over to the bed, laying you down.
His lips trail down your skin, as his hands slip into the band of your sweats and push them down. He stands up, watching as you discard your clothing as fast as you can.
His breath hitches as you take off your bra and your arms automatically move to cover your chest as your legs bend up to block your body.
“No, no.” Sam shakes his head, dropping his shirt, “Baby, you don’t need to do that.” He tilts your chin up, “You don’t need to hide from me, sweetheart.”
You swallow, nodding as you slowly move your arms away from your body.
Sam smiles slightly, leaning in to press a kiss to your lips, “You’re incredibly beautiful.”
You smile, pulling him back in. Your hands slide down his chest, causing his breath to hitch as your nails graze over his abdomen. You work at undoing his belt, then his pants and he leans up, pushing them down.
You move up, slipping your legs under the covers before he joins you. His body hovering over yours as his lips reconnect with yours.
Everything was happening so fast, yet so slow at the same time.
“Are you okay?” Sam asks quietly as he brushes hair from your face. You nod, “Yes, I want this.” You lay your hands on his neck, “I want you.”
“I want you, too, baby.” He smiles slightly and leans in, lips pressing to your cheek as his hand slides down to part your thighs more.
You bite your lip, looking down as his fingers gently move to circle your clit.
You let out a quiet gasp, your back arching upward at his touch. Small whimpers leave your lips as his pressure grows harder.
“Does that feel good?” Sam asks, his lips brushing over your cheek, “Can I do more?”
You nod, “Y-yes, please.” You bite your lip, eyes fluttering closed, face scrunching up with pleasure as he slips two fingers into you.
“You’re so wet.” Sam groans, “Fuck, you’re going to feel so good.”
You moan out quietly as he pulls them out and pushes them back in, “Sh-shit.” Your hand slides down to his bicep, nails digging in as his thrusts grow a little faster, “Yes, yes.”
Sam presses his lips to yours, swallowing your moans with ease. He misses back your jaw and down your neck, “I can’t wait to be inside of you.”
You reach down, wrapping your hand around his cock as you moan, “Sam, please.” He nods, pulling his fingers out and shifting his body over top of yours more. Your hands move up to rest on his shoulders as your legs wrap around his waist.
Your breathing grows faster as he drags the head of his cock against your slit a few times before slipping in slowly.
He groans, face falling into your neck, “Oh my god, you feel so good, sweetheart.”
Your arms tighten around his neck, both of you gasping as he thrusts into you fully. Your hand slides up to tangle your fingers into his hair, tugging slightly as he slowly pulls out and slides back in.
“Don’t ever let anyone make you feel like you’re not beautiful.” He whispers, “You’re such a work of art, baby.”
You slide your hand slides down to his upper back, nails digging in to his skin as he thrusts into you, slow and deep.
Your lips part, quiet moans slipping through as your legs move with his hips, “Sam.” You breathe out, “Feels so-so good.” Your nails drag down his back, “Fuck.”
Sam moves to hold his weight up on his arm by your head, his other hand moving to cup your cheek before kissing you. Your lips move in a slow, passionate pace and he groans against your lips.
“It’s crazy how Leo doesn’t see what’s right in front of him, you’re so fucking beautiful in every way.” His jaw falls slack as your walls pulsate around him, “If you were mine.. I don’t think I’d be able to let you go.”
His eyes scan over your face, “to me, you’re perfect. You shouldn’t have to change for anyone.” He gently peppers kisses all over your face as he keeps his thrusts slow, “I’m lucky to just even get this moment with you.”
You slide your hands to his cheeks, lifting your head to meet his lips with yours. Your legs tighten around his waist as your tongue pushes against his.
He groans, head tilting as you kiss down his neck,
“I can’t get over how good you feel, baby.” His voice low, “fuck, I could do this all day.”
You smile as you look up at him, “this feels so normal.”
“Like it was meant to happen.” You whisper and he nods, “exactly.” He closes the space, lips on yours as his thrusts pick up just a tiny bit.
You moan, hands sliding up his sides and you whimper, “M’so close.” Sam nods, “I got you, sweetheart.” His lips press to yours, “Go ahead and cum for me.” He brushes hair from your face, “I want to make you feel as good as I can.”
Your back lifts from the bed, heels digging into his lower back as you slowly cling to him, “F-fuck.” You bury your face into his neck, moaning continuously as you come undone beneath him.
He tilts your head back, crashing his lips to yours as his thrusts grow more quicker. You exchange moans, your nails digging into his back as you pant.
You gasp at the sudden loss of his cock, biting your lip as you feel him spill his cum onto your waist. You watch him close his eyes, chest rising and falling quickly as he comes down from his own high.
“Fuck.” He breathes out, his eyes snapping open to look at you, “That was..” he smirks, shaking his head, “Amazing.”
You smile, watching as he gets up. He grabs a towel, walking over to wipe off your skin and you roll over as he tosses it down.
“What are you thinking?” He asks as he climbs into bed behind you, fixing the blankets to lay around your waist and chest, “Tell me.”
“I’m just.. thinking about..” you take a deep breath, your eyes bouncing back and forth between your ring and his, “what if.. you and I were meant to part ways, like, think about it.” You roll over to face him, “You and I lost contact after high school right? Then out of everyone I could have ended up with, it brought you and I back together.”
He smiles as his eyes scan over your face, “The first time I saw you again, I was at a complete loss for words.”
“I was shocked to see you and Julia still together honestly.” You laugh slightly, “Sorry, I don’t mean-“
“No, you’re fine.” He laughs, moving his head around to get more comfortable, “I’m shocked, too. But, now that I think about it, you’re right. Like, how small of a world does it have to be for you and I, when the universe knows we liked each other back in the day, to just come together again, I mean.” He sighs, “I would have liked it to be not like this, I mean us being married to two different people, not like, this.”
He motions his hand over your bodies and you nod, “No, I know.” You smile, “I just..” you shake your head and Sam brushes his fingers over your cheek, “What, sweetheart?”
“I wish I would have told you I liked you in high school.” You shrug with a laugh, “Maybe this could have been us from the beginning.”
“Hey, things happen.” He shrugs, “That doesn’t change how I feel about you now.” He smiles and presses his lips to your forehead, “We should probably get dressed, I don’t know when Julia will be home.”
You let out a sigh, nodding as you continue to lay there, “Sam.” He lays back down, “What, baby?”
You stare at him for a second, eyes glossing over, “Thank you for making me feel beautiful.”
You could tell that caught him off guard, but he shakes his head, “You don’t ever have to thank me, you were beautiful then, and you are even more beautiful now.”
He presses his lips to yours, “No matter what you go through, no matter what happens, I’m always going to think about that about you.”
You smile, pressing your lips to his before sitting up, “You know..” you giggle as you think about what you want to say, “from being that nerdy saxophonist in the schools marching band, you really turned into a dilf.”
“Ah, ha. Ha. Very funny.” He smirks, and you can see the redness forming on his cheeks. You smile, shaking your head as you pull your shirt over it.
As soon as you, the front door opens and you look at Sam. He nods, “Just get, Link, I’ll tell her I just got home.”
You nod, walking over to grab your son from the pack and play. You shush him quietly as you make your way down the steps.
Julia goes pale as soon as she sees you and you give her a smile, “Hey, I used your pack and play for Link, I hope that’s okay.”
She nods, batting the air, “Yeah, that’s- that’s fine.”
You give her a weird look, “Hey, what happened earlier, you like hung up super fast. Was everything okay?”
She looks between you and Sam and the tears start falling, “I-I’m sorry. I just-“
“Whoa, hey.” Sam walks over, laying a hand on her shoulder but she bats it away, “I’m sorry.”
“I’m going to get him home.” You look at Sam and he nods, “Thanks for watching the kids today.” You nod, “Not a problem.”
As you bend down to pick up the diaper bag, Julia sighs, “I didn’t go to Toronto to finalize a magazine.” Your heart stated racing as soon as you heard her words, you knew what was coming.
“So, where did you go?” Sam asks and she looks at you, “I went to Colorado.”
Your brows shoot up and you stay silent.
“Leo.. went to Colorado..” Sam crosses his arms, “but I’m guessing.. it wasn’t for work.”
Julia gasps for air, “I-it hasn’t been- it just-“ she lays her hands over her face and sobs. Sam looks at you and you can’t help but laugh, “Oh, my god.”
“I-I’m so-“
You cut her off, “No, I mean. I’m mad, but at the same time..” you take a deep breath, “It’s okay.”
“It-it’s.. okay?” She stares at you, makeup running down her face, “Wh-at do you m-mean?”
“I just fucked your husband, so I guess we’re even.”

The Winchester Focus Methods
Words: 2,819
Warnings: None
This is all entirely platonic!! Just Dad!Sam and fluff here folks, the season 15 finale was enough angst for me to last a lifetime honestly
This is a SFW tickle fic, if you don’t like that then don’t read :)
"Something wrong?"
"I don't know," Jack frowns, glaring down at the book like it personally offended him. "My brain doesn't like words."
A smile twitches at Sam's lips, settling back in his chair as he watches Jack squint at the thick book. "What do you mean?" He asks gently.
"Well, I'm reading," Jack slowly explains, running a finger along the text. "But I'm not taking in anything, my brain keeps getting distracted. It doesn't like words."
Sam chuckles a bit, crossing his arms and leaning back in his chair. "You mean you're bored?"
Jack pouts, honest to god pouts. "...I think so," he mutters.
Sam smiles with a fond roll of his eyes. "Alright, well, Dean and Cas need this thing researched, so we gotta do the boring stuff."
Jack frowns harder, shoulders slumping so far it was a wonder they stayed attached to his body. Sam eyes him for a moment, then resettles himself in his chair.  "Stand up and have a walk around."
The boy glanced up with a scrunched brow. "Huh?" He asks eloquently.
Sam gives a small wave of encouragement. "Take a walk, get your blood flowing again. It'll help you focus."
Jack considers it for a moment then shrugs and stands from his chair, taking a small step away from the table. He sends a wary glance to Sam who simply nods with a smile, turning his attention back to the book so the kid doesn’t feel watched. Slowly but surely, Jack begins to pace laps around the table, eyes flicking from Sam to the books surrounding the library. Occasionally he would click his fingers or tap at his thighs, seemingly determined to get his brain back to liking words again.
Unable to help himself, Sam shifted his gaze from the text to Jack, powerless to hold back his amused smile from the boy's endearing antics. It reminded him of himself actually, back when he was younger and didn't want to research what John had instructed him to. It was Dean who suggested walking around to get him focused again. Well, that and a couple of other tactics. ‘The Winchester Focus Methods’, Dean had dubbed it when they were kids, - tested and guaranteed to get your brain back in working order for hunting.
Sam was sure they were just little distractions Dean made for him so he didn’t get morose from researching and sitting still for so long. His smile softens at the thought, thumbing the page he was meant to be reading. Dean really did do whatever he could to make Sam’s childhood bearable.
"Sam, I don't think this is working."
Sam is pulled from his thoughts by Jack’s voice. He glances back to the kid who looks put out by the lack of progress, picking at the lint on his blue sweater with a furrow to his eyebrows. His forehead was going to become permanently scrunched if he kept doing that so often, Sam thought idly.
"You've been walking around for two minutes," he says with an amused huff, but he leans away from his book anyway to address the Nephilim properly. "It can take a bit longer than that."
"This is boring too," Jack sighs. Now that he knows the word for his lack of attention, he is going to use it as much as he wants.
Sam internally sighs. Alright then, ‘Winchester Focus Method Number Two’ was going to have to come into play. Sliding his chair back, Sam stands and stretches his arms over his head. "You sure you don't want to just keep walking?" He asks.
Jack shuffles his feet and shakes his head. "No. I don't think it's working."
“Alright, Plan B."
Sam steps around the table and moves towards Jack. At the last second, he leans down towards Jack's legs and scoops him up and over his shoulder. Jack's loud yelp of alarm is followed by quick scrabbling for purchase on Sam's back. He grabs handfuls of the man's shirt, elbows digging into Sam's ribs to hold himself up. Sam lightly jostles him to make his elbows slip off the protesting bones, leaving Jack lying helplessly over Sam's spine.
"Woah- Sam, what are you doing?"
"You said the walking wasn't working," Sam replies, barely holding back a grin as he walks to the towering shelves of books and runs his index finger down the spines. "This will help the blood get to your head instead. So hang back there and get focused while I finish my half of the research, okay?"
Mildly disorientated, Jack tries to push himself up on Sam again, a smile on his face at the sudden playfulness from the man. A giggle spills out involuntarily as he slips back down and is fully stretched out from the shift in gravity. "Put me down!"
Hearing the mirthful noises makes Sam grin, shrugging to shift the kid around as he answers. "What was that? Sorry Jack, can't hear you back there."
"Yes, you can!" Jack argues, knowing Sam is most definitely not deaf, and he isn’t that far out of range. Sam could hear him perfectly fine.
"Wow, really muffled aren't you, buddy?" Sam hums innocently, quickly lowering himself to look at the bottom shelves and grinning when Jack yelps and laughs harder at the sudden movement.
"Sam!"
"Jack, I'm trying to find a book on ancient totems. I can't focus with all that laughing," Sam scolds jokingly, squeezing the boy's knee gently.
Jack's socked foot shoots out and almost kicks the shelf, a squeak sounding out from the boy. Sam stares at the leg he'd squeezed, and then his smile widens. "Oh, well that's something."
Jack, now gripping Sam's flannel shirt from surprise, blinks wildly. "What was that?" He asks, attempting to sit up on Sam's shoulder but finding as much purchase as before - which was little to none.
"Jack, you're not ticklish are you?"
Jack picked up on the mischievous tone in Sam's voice, and for some reason, he felt a rush of weird buzzing through his body. Adrenaline? Nervousness? Whatever it was, it was odd.
"Ticklish?" He repeats in confusion, not understanding his body's reaction to the word.
Sam stands again, making sure Jack is secure over his shoulder before squeezing the boy's knee once more. A sharp yelp left Jack again, his whole form wriggling on Sam's shoulder as he gasped. "Whahat is that?" He asks, shaking his leg to free it from the aftershock of weird tingles.
Sam chuckles, and Jack feels it from how he's lying over Sam’s shoulder. "Oh, kiddo," he grins. "You're about to find out."
Winchester Focus Method Number Three has arrived at the door - AKA, Dean’s favorite method.
Keeping an arm stretched around Jack to keep him secure over his shoulder, Sam sets to work squeezing Jack’s knees and calf muscles, chuckling at the boy’s wild kicks and high-pitched squeaks of laughter. The Nephilim keeps switching between squirming for freedom from the barrage of tickling sparks, and going limp on reflex to hopefully slide off Sam’s shoulder. The latter option was useless however as Sam’s grip on him is solid, keeping Jack safe by not letting him fall but ultimately holding him captive in the ticklish trap.
“S-SahAHAHam!” Jack whines, lightly beating his fist onto Sam’s back to cope with the strange, electric sensations racing along his nervous system.
“Feeling focused yet?” Sam asks innocently, spidering over the underside of Jack’s foot, chuckling when the boy practically shrieks.
“NOHOHO!”
“Well, better keep going then,” hums Sam, walking over to the couch sitting on the far wall of the research room. “Can’t let up until you feel ready to research again.”
“Thihihis ihihisn’t hehelping!”
“Sure it is, Dean used to do this to me constantly. You’ll feel ready to go in no time.” Sam let go of Jack to hike him off of his shoulder and drop him onto the couch - gently, of course, he had the title of ‘Responsible Dad’ for a reason.
Jack bounces a bit on the cushions from his high fall, a hand resting on his stomach as he giggles insistently. “Whihiy am Ihihi laughing soho muhuhuch?” he presses through the titters that keep tumbling unbridled from his lips.
Jack curls up into a ball in fresh peals of laughter, his hands torn between holding onto Sam’s and pressing against the man’s chest. Sam noticed however, the kid wasn’t trying to stop him, he was just trying to find something to hang onto. It had happened when the kid was on his shoulder as well, he’d held onto the hunter’s shirt in a vice grip.
“Cause you’re ticklish, bud,” Sam grins, plopping down on the couch and scooping Jack back to lie over his legs, his hands latching around the Nephilm's ribs and scratching at the backs of the bones. “Very ticklish, apparently.”
"You still bored? Want to go back to researching now?" Sam asks, wiggling his fingers along Jack's sides.
The boy's knees fly up to his torso in hopes of blocking the new spot, screwing his eyes closed as he grins brighter than the sun. He doesn't know why he stubbornly shakes his head, too caught up in the fun of the game Sam had sprung to want to go near the books again.
"No?" The younger Winchester seems surprised by the answer, though he can't stop smiling despite himself. "Really? Thought you would be itching to get back to it." As he speaks, Sam reaches over to Jack's feet and scuttles his fingers under his toes, delighting in the sharp squeal and hiccuping giggles produced from the action.
Kicking his legs away from Sam's fingers, Jack grips the arm still caging him in - the one that was still teasing his sensitive side. "Nohoho! No mohore research!"
"How come? Thought you loved learning new things," Sam insists, then brightens with an idea. “Hey, speaking of, do you know how many ribs you've got, Jack?’
The blonde scrunches his brow again in confusion. “W-Whahahat?”
“Your ribs,” Sam repeats, thumbing the lowest set of bones gently and delighting at the bubbly giggle Jack lets out from the touch. “Humans have twenty-four, but you're a Nephilim - an angel and human hybrid. I wonder if you have more or less than a human does.”
Jack’s eyebrows shoot up and he instantly drops his hands to Sam’s, clinging onto them as he catches onto the man’s plan. He presses out between giggles, “Ihihihi hahave twehenty fohour!”
“You sure?” Sam squints at the boy. “I might need to count them just to be safe.”
Sam’s purposefully ignoring the importance of the research at this point, intent on keeping Jack with a smile on his face and laughter in the air. Dean and Cas didn't need the information urgently,  and he hasn't had a chance to mess around with Jack with everything going on. Deep down, he's sure they both need this break.
Returning to the mission of counting, Sam’s fingers gently probe around Jack’s bottom ribs, pinching the backs to make Jack buck reflexively with a squeal from the change in technique, his eyes squinty from the size of his smile. “Sahaham! Ihihit- ihihit tihihickles!”
“That’s kinda the point, buddy,” Sam chuckles. “Now that’s definitely one, here’s twoooo, threeeee, fooooour~ Good news so far, Jack, you’ve got four sets of ribs! Let’s hope the other eight are there too.”
Jack throws his head back on the couch cushions from where he’s draped over the hunter’s lap. His legs kick at the arm of the furniture as he squeaks and giggles frantically. The tickle attack was maddening, sparks dancing through his bones and making him twist involuntarily. He hasn’t felt anything like this before, and while part of him wonders how he’s been brought to a puddle of laughter so fast, the other part of him is enjoying the playful attention. Sam is reaching the tops of his ribcage when a sensitive nerve on his back gets scratched in passing, and Jack can’t stop the noise that leaves him.
Sam pauses his skittering fingers and stares down at the boy who now has a hand firmly clamped over his mouth. “Did you just snort?” Sam laughs, eyes alight with adoration.
Jack looks helplessly to the side, ears flushed with warmth as he tries to defend himself. “N-Nohoho…” It sounds weak even to him.
“Oh, you so did!” Sam’s nails are now skittering feather-light across Jack’s shoulder blades. He cackles when the Nephilim tries to roll off of his lap instantly from the sudden onslaught which only exposes the soft spot further. “Oh my god, you’re just like Cas, he can’t stand this either.”
With the escape attempt interrupted, Jack is now lying on his side, one of Sam’s hands teasing the hypersensitive spot where his cloaked wings are connected to his body, while the other pokes and pinches the soft flesh of his stomach. He’s utterly trapped between two ticklish hells and it doesn't help he’s snorting again. The loud, uncontrolled sounds peppered between bouts of hearty cackles. Every time he shifts one way to roll over and block a spot, he’s met with more tickles, both spots stupidly sensitive to Sam’s wiggling digits. Jack’s kept on his side, laughing helplessly into the fabric of Sam’s jeans and drumming his socked feet into the couch.
The tickle attack lasts another minute or two before Sam finally lets up, rubbing his hands down the boy’s back comfortingly to soothe the lingering tingles. Jack slumps on his thighs, complete dead weight as he remembers how to breathe. Sam keeps the comforting rubbing going as he fixes the wild strands from Jack’s usually well-kept hair that had fallen across his face. Combing through the soft, golden strands, Sam leans over to check the kid hasn’t fallen asleep on him.
“You alright, Jack?” He asks softly, squeezing the boy’s shoulder.
“Yeheah,” Jack mumbles, his smile seemingly permanently etched into his face.
Sam chuckles. “You’re still giggly?” he teases lightly.
The boy rolls over onto his back to look up at Sam with half-lidded, happy eyes. “Tihickles,” he answers simply.
Sam grins, smoothing down Jack’s hair again and patting his sweater. “You’re okay though?”
Jack nods, eyelashes fluttering as he relaxes entirely on Sam’s legs. “It was fun,” he answers honestly. “I liked it.”
The answer is enough to make Sam’s chest feel lighter than it has in a long time, pure adoration for his kid making him smile fondly. “I’m glad,” he replies warmly. “Most people hate it cause it can feel overwhelming or they’re too ticklish. Honestly, you might just give Dean a run for his money with those reactions.”
Jack’s eyes widen and he suddenly looks a hell of a lot more energized than he did a second ago. “Dean’s ticklish?” he demands.
The long-haired hunter exhales a fond laugh, sitting back on the couch and rubbing a hand down his face. “He’s gonna kill me for telling you that… but yeah, he is.”
Jack sits up and presses his hands on Sam’s knees to support himself. “Will you help me take him down?” He asks, terrifyingly serious for something as simple as a tickle attack.
Sam considers it for a moment. On one hand, it would make some great photos for blackmail - it would definitely outweigh the photo Dean still has of him asleep with a spoon in his mouth. On the other hand, the repercussions of it would be heavy.
…Eh, fuck it.
He’s Sam Winchester. He’s saved the world from three apocalypses and fought the Devil himself. He can handle his older brother’s revenge.
“I’m in,” he agrees, then glances at the table where the books are still stacked high. “Though, if you wanna get him sooner rather than later, we need to finish that research.”
“Right!”
Jack leaps off the couch and practically slams back into his chair, grabbing the book he’d been previously staring at before. Sam has to hold back a snort of his own at how fast the kid moved, heaving himself off the couch to sit opposite the Nephilim. He drags his own book back to sit in front of him, resting his cheek on an open palm while the other snags his pencil.
Sam smirks into his palm. Dean was going to wish he’d stayed out when he got back. He didn’t doubt for a second Cas was going to join in on the harmless attack. Well… mostly harmless anyway. Depends if they pin Dean down well enough, he’s been known to be a kicker.
“Sam.”
Flexing his eyebrows to show he was listening to Jack, he hums, “Yeah, kid?”
“My brain likes words again.”
Sam shakes his head with a grin. “Glad to hear it, bud. Let’s put it to use.”
Welp, seems there was another tactic to add to the Winchester Focus Methods; ‘Plan A Future Attack On An Unsuspecting Friend’. It felt like a fitting addition.

mm ok I have something to talk about finally ! so something I’ve noticed in a lot of discussions/meta around the TFW2.0 family dynamic + cycles of abuse is that it almost always opts to frame jack as a perpetual victim of [sam and] dean’s mistreatment who can’t fight back, and while I don’t mean to say it’s completely without merit, I feel that it does a slight disservice to Jack’s character by always reducing him into a helpless child (even if he is seen as older by the poster) who cannot/should not bear any responsibility in any of his relationships with his fathers.
to start, the cycle of abuse coincides with an imbalanced power dynamic; someone with more or higher power and authority over you (ie parent, boss or teacher) uses that authority to exploit, control, and/or freely mistreat you. i will note that it doesn’t necessarily have to be framed this way to be abuse, like a situation where blackmail grants someone authority over their target; there are also some dynamics that are inherently imbalanced without being inherently abusive (see above examples). the abuse relies on that dynamic being manipulated, not the dynamic itself.
in the majority of posts I’ve seen, the power imbalance between TFW2.0 almost always puts jack at the bottom of the totem pole, in a constant state of victimhood because he’s constantly at the mercy of [sam and] dean [and cas].*boxed these in bc people rarely pick on sam or cas for their transgressions and whether or not they’ll kill him. clarifying again that i understand where this comes from, but I also think it’s a fairly dated perspective on their dynamic that should really be re-examined—especially with Jack’s autonomy more in mind—and i believe @shallowseeker has a post about the exact timeframe of Cas’ death and Dean’s widower arc/mistreatment of Jack that i recommend for it.
but onto my main point, I feel that this representation of their dynamic is inaccurate, and doesn’t really take jack into account beyond the Helpless Child Victim narrative. for the sake of staying on topic let me just summarize a few things:
A) Jack is the most powerful being in the universe and is functionally immortal/unkillable. He is a greater threat to TFW than they are to him, and so he is the one with power in the dynamic, not the other way around. It all hinges on his personal choice to not harm them (because he loves them of course).
B) Jack is and always has been painfully aware of his power, the threat he poses, the dynamic it creates and the underlying tension it constantly causes with his relationships. The majority of his actions and motivations are rooted in his own self-fear, and the determination to prove he’s good/safe.
Another small point I’ll shove in is that Dean canonically never forgave himself for his mistreatment of Jack, and spent almost the entirety of their relationship trying to make up for it (especially in 14x06, 07 & 08). Likewise, Dean’s promise to kill Jack in 13x02 and that scene from Moriah are both often misunderstood as more Textbook Dean Abuse with **Jack’s perspectives (ie: “dean said he’d kill me, and maybe he should,” his admission of guilt and willingness to let Dean shoot him) (also, his choice to forgive dean at some point offscreen) being largely overlooked.
**obviously it’s not healthy or good for Jack to basically consent to being mistreated or killed because he thinks he somehow deserves it, nor does it make Dean’s actions excusable or justified in any way, but i still feel that it’s worth pointing out as examples of Jack’s autonomy and awareness in the aforementioned power dynamic.
Jack’s responsibility is also pretty unaccounted for in these dynamics (especially when it comes to Mary’s death) which I think stems equally from the fact that his soullessness—and by extension, his soulless actions—were caused by Sam and Dean’s actions and the general perspective of him as a child [who doesn’t deserve the burden he carries, and should be carefree], so nothing is directly his fault and nobody can get mad at him either or that’s also seen as unfair mistreatment). I also personally just think it’s odd because Jack in canon is very adamant about being able to take and hold responsibility (as it relates to his autonomy and wanting to be seen as a separate person from his parents). and, going back to Mary, Jack not only becomes psychotic with guilt over killing her, but after his soul is restored in S15, he has a complete breakdown from the sheer horror of what he’s done, and because, in his own words, it’s all his fault.
I won’t go into the worm can of people blaming Dean for how he handled reliving to his root trauma, but suffice it to say: he had every right to be angry, he was well within reason to act unreasonably, and stop trying to fix his conflict with jack by parentifying him with an innocent baby when he already has parentification trauma and that baby is merely an excuse to absolve Jack of any responsibility he had in the conflict.
I will always and forever love the meta side of the fandom, and I honestly owe my blog’s existence to it, but I still think we have a long way to go in terms of how jack is represented/portrayed in these discussions, and likewise, how that portrayal frames/reflects on sam, dean and cas ^_^

Well, they managed to beat Michael and Lucifer, but the road to recovery is a long one, and... something's not quite right with Castiel. But it's okay. Liam's going to get to the bottom of it.

CLAWING AT THE WALLS OMG IM OBSESSED WITH GIRL DAD SAM LIKE ARGHHHHHAJSJJSKANSNJAJSJBDJSNSKAKJSJ
PERFECT GIVE ME 14 MORE OF EM I NEED THIS SOO BADD
Imagine Sam with his daughter and she's dressing him up and doing his hair. You know those fairy wings you can wear, her forcing him to wear those and she's wearing a princess dress.
tysm for the request!! i’m a bit rusty so i feel like this kinda sucks and it ended up being much longer than intended lol but i’m loving this verse sm so much more to come :) | juno verse, single dad sam winchester x fem!reader, 1.5k, kid fic, fluff, not proof red, requests open only for juno fics
“Don’t laugh.” Were the first words out of his mouth when he opened the door and saw her stood there.
He had been trying to clean up the apartment when he knew that she was coming over after work — also in an attempt to starve off the giddiness, which hadn’t worked out either — when his daughter had attached herself to his leg and refused to let go until he played with her. Juno, he was convinced, had all of the stubbornness of a Winchester, and he’d rather just give in easily then peel her off of his leg and have a crying toddler and a messy apartment.
Y/N had been visiting more and more over the recent weeks, she had started to work herself into the little routine that he and Juno had been building, and it made him so soft. There hadn’t been somebody that he’d looked forward to seeing like that in a long time.
Her lips were curving upwards as she looked at him, lips pressed together in a clear attempt to not laugh at him. “…you look pretty.”
Juno’s recent game of choice had been dress up, which was honestly just a kinder way of saying she liked to hold him hostage and dress him up until she got bored. His hair was pulled into three pigtails, there were god knows how many butterfly clips up there, and he was pretty sure there were at least two stickers on his face somewhere.
“Thanks,” he rolled his eyes, stepping aside to let her into the apartment. He really tried not to stare as she stepped past, but she really was just so pretty. It would help if he didn’t have Dean in his ear whenever he called telling him that he clearly had a thing for waitresses. “My stylist got bored waiting for you, here.” Sam gently took her jacket from her and hung it up next to his own and Juno’s red coat on the hooks by the door.
“I’d say I’m sorry but I’m not, you look great.” She giggled, a hand reached up with the intention of touching his hair, but the shout of her name from down the hall took both of their attention.
She crouched down just in time to open her arms to the toddler barrelling down the hall towards her, almost slipping on the material of her princess dress in the process which made Sam wince.
“Hey, sweetheart.” She caught Juno in her arms with a tight squeeze, somehow not knocked to the floor. Sam was so immeasurably soft whenever he got to watch her with his daughter, how much she was adored by Juno and how much she adored her back. It was the most important thing to him, that his daughter liked her. And she really did — more than him, he thought sometimes.
“Oh I missed you so much,” she squeezed his toddler once more before pulling back to look at her, smiling as she touched the puffy skirt of her dress. “Oh don’t you look so pretty, Junie? I love your dress.”
“It’s sleeping beauty’s dress,” Juno informed her, smile full of pink chubby cheeks as she soaked up the praise. “Daddy got it for me for my last birthday, when I was three.” She held up three fingers to show her, somehow covered in glitter that Sam could only dread to think was in his hair.
“Well it’s very pretty,” she beamed, gently smoothing over a few wrinkles in the dress. “Are you dressing up daddy to match?”
“No,” she shook her head, tone firm as if it was obvious. “He’s a fairy,” as if she suddenly just remembered what they’d been doing she frowned and let go of Y/N, clumsily stepping around her to grab at Sam’s hand and tugged with far too much strength for her little body. “Daddy, not done.”
Sam sighed, eyes down on her as she tugged on his arm as if she could pull him down the hallway herself. She had turned her big puppy eyes on, the ones he could never really say no to. “I know, Bug, why don’t you let me make Y/N a coffee and then—”
“No,” she whined, tugging harder. “Now.”
The clouds were forming for a tantrum, it had been that way all afternoon, it’s why he’d settled for letting her play dress up in the first place. She always got cranky after pre-school on Mondays. “Baby—”
“It’s okay,” a hand touched his arm and he turned to look at her. “I know where everything is, I can make one. I did interrupt play time.”
“Thanks,” he breathed, ever grateful for how amazing she was with Juno. If he didn’t know any better, he’d have assumed that she had kids of her own. “Really, I’ll make it up—”
“Daddy.” Juno was whining louder, tugging his arm again, and he just let out a breath as he leaned down to scoop her up onto his arms, settling her on his hip.
“Why are you acting up, hm?” Not really annoyed, he knew she couldn’t really help it, he reached his free hand up to tickle at her side until she giggled. Satisfied that he’d successfully worked around a tantrum he led Y/N down the hall with his daughter on his hip, though she already knew the place like the back of her hand. If he wasn’t so nervous he would’ve invited her to stay the night already.
He watched her disappear into the kitchen to make herself a drink before he took Juno back into the living room, and returned to his spot on the floor where he’d been held captive for the past twenty minutes. The floor was littered with hair clips and tiaras and plastic shoes which he’d clean up when she went to bed, but he didn’t really mind the mess if it meant she was happy.
“Daddy,” she was pulling at his hair again, stood on his thighs, only not falling off onto the carpet because of his hands on her sides. He watched her reach for another hair clip, a glittery yellow butterfly, and tried not to wince as he felt it’s teeth scrape against his scalp as she shoved it into place. “Can Y/N play too?”
Juno had been attached to her ever since they’d become friends. It was sweet, endearing really. Aside from himself and Dean, the only other adults she really got to see were her teachers at pre-school. Juno really adored her, clung to her every moment she could. She’d come with Sam to pick Juno up from school once and she’d practically screamed across the playground when she saw her.
“If she wants to, Junie,” he hummed, holding her steady as she leaned to the floor to grab something else. “She had a long day at work, she might be tired.”
“I still play after school.” Her nose scrunched up in a way that made him smile.
“Waitressing is a little different to school, baby. It’s not very fun.”
Juno hummed like she was thinking about it as she scrambled off of his lap to reach into her toy box. “Then she should get a new job,” she settled on, tugging out her pink fairy wings from the crate. “A fun one.”
Sam nodded a little, smiling softly as he murmured, “I agree.”
Little hands pulled at his arm, and he leaned forwards like she’d moved him herself. The elastic loops of the fairy wings were a little small for his shoulders, but he didn’t complain about the tightness of the band as he helped her get them on him, worth it to hear her giggle when it was all done.
“Those look great,” he looked up and watched as Y/N walked into the room, two mugs in her hands, one of which she placed down on the coffee table for him. “You did a really great job, Junie, now he really looks like a fairy.”
The way she was smiling at him was making his face heat up. Jesus, he needed to get a grip.
“Can you play?” Juno clambered off of Sam’s lap again to head over to her, grabbing some butterfly clips from the floor on her way. “Pretty please?”
“Baby, I’m sure she’s probably really tired—”
“It’s okay,” she waved him off with a fond little smile, before she looked back to Juno. “I’ll play if you make a deal with me, sweet girl.”
Juno nodded furiously like it was the most important thing in the world.
“If you promise me that you’ll eat your vegetables with dinner you can dress me up however you like, hm?”
Juno beamed and nodded, her little pinky clunkily hooking around the one that Y/N held up.
Sam met her eyes over Juno’s head, mouthing a thank you that earned him a smile in return. God, he was smitten.

oh my god girl ur sam fics give my lifeee literally screamed while reading the last one
Tumblr media
Summary: while Sam is putting your child to bed, you overhear him tell the story of how you and him met
Warnings: swearing, dad!Sam, mentions of a haunted hotel, ghosts, kinda spooky memories, mostly fluff
Word Count: 2.5k | unedited
✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧
As you were in the bathroom cleaning up after bath time, you couldn’t help but smile as you heard Sam getting your daughter ready for bed, “Come on, sweetheart. Bed time.”
He was such a good dad, you loved him even more for it.
You hear your young daughter, Thea, giggle as she runs and gets into her bed. You walk over to the door and peak in, watching as Sam bends down to pick out a book, “What book do you want to read tonight?”
“How did you meet mommy, daddy?”
Sam laughs slightly, turning to look at her with a big smile, “Is that the story you want for tonight?”
She giggle and nods, “Yes please!”
“Alright then.” Sam gets up and walks over, sitting down to allow Thea to cuddle up next to him, “Daddy met mommy when him and uncle Colby went on an adventure to a sp-“ he pauses, knowing anything spooky scares Thea, “We went to a hotel one day to explore it, right?”
“Right, yes.” Thea giggles, “And you found mommy there?”
“Yes, I did.” Sam chuckles, “When I first seen mommy, I knew that she was going to be who I wanted to have around for a long, long time.”
“Forever?” Thea asks looking up at him, and he nods, “Yes, sweetheart, forever.”
As Sam tells the story to the child, you found yourself reminiscing about it as well.
As you stood at the front desk, you noticed two guys walk in through the doors. Your eyes fixated on the blonde one as he looked around in awe.
You couldn’t help but smile when he looked over at you, smiling back as he nudged his friend to follow him, “Hi.” He says as he walks up to the desk, “I’m Sam Golbach and this is Colby Brock, we’re here to do an investigation.”
Sam extends his hand out and you take it, “Right, yes, Sam and Colby.” You nod, “I’m y/n y/l/n.”
Your hands linger together for a few seconds before you take a deep breath, moving to shake Colby’s hand, “I’m the manager and tour guide for the Florence Hotel. I believe it was you I spoke to on the phone about setting this up?”
You point to Sam and he nods, “Yes. That was me.”
“Great, um. Okay.” You look around, clearly growing more flustered by the second, “If you guys just want to hang out in the lobby, I’ll be out in a few. I just-I just need to get things, uh, situated back here before I give you the tour.”
Sam smiles, “Please, take your time. We have all night.”
You nod, “Thank you.” You smile and turn away, walking back through the door and stopping to take a second.
You hear Thea laughing, “You scared mommy!” Sam laughs, “Not so much scared, but I think she knew she liked daddy as soon as she saw him.”
You smile, nodding to yourself as you silently agree with him from out in the hallway.
You were embarrassed, you’ve never acted like that in front of someone before. You felt like you made a fool out of yourself in front of the cutest guy you’ve ever seen, but little do you know, that wasn’t the case.
“Your uncle Colby picked on me so much that night.” Sam laughs slightly, “He kept telling me that she liked me and that I made her nervous, but I didn’t believe him. I was scared she wasn’t going to like me back.”
Thea gasps, “Mommy didn’t like you?”
“No, baby. Mommy did like me, I just didn’t know it at the time.”
“So.. mommy did like you?” Thea asks and Sam smiles, “Yes, she did.”
You walked out from locking up the office and smiled, “Okay, so where would you guys like to start?” You looked between Sam and Colby and they looked at each other before Sam stood up, “Where ever you would like, where do you normally start?”
“I usually just start here in the lobby and then we cover bottom to top.” You swallow, praying your heart stops trying to beat out of your chest, “I will warn you that it does get a little intense, we’ve had people leave mid investigations and even in the tours during daylight hours.”
“Oh shit, really?” Colby raises his brows, “What happened if you don’t mind me asking.”
You couldn’t help but feel more nervous the longer Sam stared at you, “Well, uh, for I-instance, we had someone leave because they had scratch marks appear on their bodies and they said it burned, and then you just have the usual dizzy slash sick feelings.”
Sam shakes his head, “do you know if there’s like a demon or something that is here or is it just like an unhappy guests that doesn’t like visitors?”
You laugh slightly at his question, “Sorry, that’s not funny.” You sigh and shake your head and Sam and Colby laugh, “No, trust me. We completely joke to cope.”
You nod, “People have suspected that there’s a demon here, but..” you shrug, “Some people just have a better experience than others, I think it has a lot to do with how you approach everything.”
“Did mommy stay with you and uncle Colby all night?” Thea asks and Sam sighs, “I didn’t want her to, but she did. She made sure me and your uncle Colby were alright.”
“Mommy is so nice.”
“Yeah, baby. Mom is really nice.” Sam laughs and you shake your head with a smile.
You managed to pull it together for half of the tour. You didn’t stumble over your words or trip over the carpet that’s lifted up, you were doing good.
“So the final room that people report the most activity in is this room.” You motion to the door, “Room 308.” You pull the key from your sweatshirt pocket and push it into the lock, “Sometimes.. this lock.. gets..” you sigh, “Stuck..”
“Here.” Sam hands his camera to Colby and walks up next to you, “let me take a crack at it.” Sam’s hand slides over yours as you still have a grasp on the key. It felt like fireworks were being set off under your skin, and Sam sure as hell felt it, too with the way he looked at you.
“Did you.. get it?” Colby asks breaking the silence, and you jump slightly, “Oh, um. Yeah, Sam.. you can give it a try.”
You could tell Colby was smirking as you stepped back but you refused to look at him. Sam gives the door a good shove and he looks back with a smirk, “Yeah that wasn’t hard at all.”
You couldn’t help but laugh as you walk past him and into the room.
“Did you think mommy was pretty?” Thea asks with a giggle and Sam scoffs, “Sweetheart, I thought your mom was the most beautiful person in the entire world, but you want to know something?”
“Yes!”
“It’s not just her now, there’s someone else. Do you know who that other person is?” Sam asks and Thea gasps, “Who daddy!?”
You lean around the corner, watching as Sam boops her nose gently, “You.”
You weren’t sure if it was the room, or if it was Sam’s overwhelming charm that made you dizzy, but you needed to get out of the room either way.
“Are you okay?” Sam asks as he follows you out, “Did something happen?” You shake your head as you look up at him, “N-no, I just.. got a little dizzy, is all.”
You lean against the wall and Sam instantly moves to hold you upright, even though you were really going to be fine. You take a deep breath, nodding as you turn towards him, “That room is where the scratches happened, so I’m sure it was just the overwhelming feeling of being in there, you know?”
“Right, sure.” Sam nods, his eyes scanning over your face. You could have swore that if it was just you and him there would have been a kiss or two.
“So what about the-“ Colby starts as he walks out, “Basement? Is that something we can look into?”
You step away from Sam as soon as you see the camera come into view, “Oh yes. Sure, we can head down there now if you’d like?”
“Wait, daddy. Was it a scary adventure?” Thea asks and Sam sighs, “Yes, it was. Uncle Colby and I were going to find ghosts and mommy was in charge of where they were all at.”
“Oooooh.” Thea whispers, “you saved mommy from the spooky ghosts?”
“Something like that, Thea.” Sam chuckles, “I think it was mommy who saved me from the ghosts more than anything.”
You stayed a few hours after your shift, mainly because you had paperwork and had to retag the new keys that came in. But, a part of you didn’t want to miss out on seeing Sam. You found yourself thinking about him, wondering if he’s okay and what not.
As you walk out to hang the keys on the hooks behind the main desk, you felt a presence walk up behind you. They didn’t say anything, which, with working at this hotel, that’s a normal feeling, so you just thought maybe it was something from within the hotel.
But it wasn’t, as soon as you turned around, you let out a scared yell and your hand flew to your chest, “Oh my god, Sam!”
“Sorry! Sorry!” He holds his hands up, “It’s just me! I didn’t-“ he sighs, “I didn’t know what to say!”
“You did scare mommy!” Thea laughs and Sam laughs with her, “Yes. Yes. That time I did, but it was okay! I promise!”
You laugh, “It-it’s okay.” You walk up to the desk and set down your box, “What can.. what can I do for you?”
He motions, “We’re.. headed to the basement now.. but when we were upstairs I forgot that I never got the key to our room.”
“Oh my god, Sam. I’m so sorry. That should have- I’m sorry.” You click on the computer and pull up their reservation, “that’s my fault.”
He shakes his head, “No, it’s mine. I just-“ he laughs nervously, “you’re just really pretty and you make me nervous.”
You slowly look over at him and nod, “I know what you mean..” quickly following up, “Not that, you’re pretty, I mean you’re cute I- oh shit.” You laugh and cover your face, “I’m not good at this.”
“Mommy called you pretty!” Thea laughs, “That’s so silly!”
“Mommy and daddy were silly at that time weren’t we?” Sam laughs, smiling when he sees you peaking around the corner, “But I think that’s why I fell in love with her.”
You smirk and tilt your head, rolling your eyes as you laugh quietly.
“Is that when you and mommy got married?” Thea asks and Sam shakes his head, “No that didn’t happen for a few years after I first met mommy.”
“Oh, was I there for that?”
Sam laughs, “No baby, you weren’t there for either of those things.”
You cover your mount to hide your laughter, moving out of view as Thea looks at the door. You didn’t want to interrupt Sam telling the story, so you sat down on the floor and listened as he started telling it again.
“This is going to sound cheesy as hell, but the second I saw you I was like wow, I like her.” Sam laughs, “Sorry that-“
“No, no. That’s about where I was at, I am? I don’t know what you’d call it, but I can give you my number if you’d like?” You point to the sticky notes on the counter and he nods, “Oh yeah, that would be awesome!”
You smile as you write down your phone number and hand it to him, “Just text me. I’m probably going to head out soon, but Lewis, the assistant manager will be here until seven.”
“Yeah, no worries. If you want to maybe once we’re done in the morning, we can get a coffee or something to you know, go over what we got tonight..” Sam smiles as he slips your number into his pocket and you nod, “I’d really like that Sam.”
“Did mommy leave the hotel after that?” Thea asks and you shake your head as Sam answers, “No, she did not leave the hotel. In fact, she stayed there all night and we went out for breakfast that morning.”
“Ooooh you had a date.” Thea teases and Sam laughs, “Yep. That was mommy and daddy’s first date.”
“You’re still here?” Sam asks as he walks up to the desk, “Thought you said you were heading out.”
“I was going to, but then I managed to make more work for myself so that I didn’t have to.” You laugh, “i probably sound like a freak, I’m so sorry.”
“No, not at all.” Sam smiles, “You should go home, get some rest, I mean that’s if you aren’t already back to working.”
“No, no.” You laugh, “I have the day off actually, partially why I didn’t mind staying.” You tilt your head, “I also kinda didn’t want to leave without seeing you one last time.”
“Yeah, I was hoping I could catch you before I left.” He smiles, “If you’re not too tired, maybe we can do that coffee now? Breakfast, too maybe?”
You nod, “Yeah, I’d like that.”
“And what happened after you left the hotel and went back home daddy?” Thea asks and that’s when you stand up, walking into the room, “Daddy couldn’t go a day without talking to mommy. Always calling her on the phone, texting her..”
Thea laughs and Sam shakes his head, “No, that-“ he stops, tilting his head, “Okay, maybe that’s how it was, but mommy was like that, too.”
Thea giggles as you sit down next to her and Sam smiles, “After a few weeks of talking on the phone, I went to see her and after that..” he looks up at you and you smile, looking down at Thea, “they lived happily every after.”
Thea smiles and a yawn quickly follows, “Goodnight mommy. Goodnight daddy.”
“Goodnight, Thea.” You and Sam whisper, each of you getting up to kiss her head before walking out of her room.
“What brought that on?” You ask as you wrap your arm around Sam’s waist. He shrugs, kissing your head, “No idea, but I’m happy she asked. I love talking about the first time I saw you.”
He stops at the top of the steps and turns to look at you, “I knew you’d be my everything.” He smiles and you nod, “Look where we’re at now. You’re my everything, too.”

I don't really understand why people only consider destiel jack's dads, not just because sam is also there, but also because it's infinitely funnier if Jack says "I have more dads than most people" and means 1. the devil himself 2. the president of the united states 3. a fallen angel 4. that guy's situationship 5. number 4's brother
who is doing it like him

Just updated Sparkling Eyes and Cigarette Burns, which you can find on AO3 and fanfiction.net! If you're a fan of found family and a good, confusing, gut-wrenching mix of angst and fluff, this is the story for you! It starts with Bright Smiles and Bloody Lips, wherein Sam adopts (read: kidnaps) a young boy from a group home after saving him from a monster. Sparkling Eyes and Cigarette Burns follows their Season 5 adventures.
Also, for those already following the story, now that the MoL Bunker is involved, please tell me what you'd like to see! I've already made quite a few modifications to the bunker we know, so shoot some ideas my way!
Thanks so much for supporting me!
