#dashboard preferences

For those of you who are equally aggravated by Tumblr Live, there's a way to snooze it under Dashboard Preferences. It only snoozes for 7 days and I can't find any way to turn it off completely. Hopefully @staff gets rid of it altogether. I thought it was a joke at first.

Tumblr's "Following" tab algorithm is utter rubbish! But recently I made some changes to my dashboard settings and it made the world of difference! So I thought I'd share this in case it works for you too.

I just found out that you can actually adjust your dashboard preferences to see everything in chronological order (duh!). The 'best first' algorithmic setting was getting on my nerve. Why would anyone want that? I was rarely checking my Dashboard for that reason. So I'm letting you guys know, just in case any of you isn't aware of it.

Go to settings. Go to Dashboard Preferences. Hit this button.

I feel like such a boomer asking this, but so far my few mutuals haven't been able to help fix this. This is for anyone but I'll take help from @staff @support. i made a new account after losing mine sometime ago. This app is different. my "following" tab is full of accounts/posts I don't follow and it appears my settings are correct. Can anyone help so I only see people I'm following in my "following" tab?

Here's a screenshot of my dashboard preferences. Don't know where else to change my settings to make it so suggested posts quit appearing. Isn't that was the "for you" and "your tags" be for?

Hey @staff idk if it’s just my bug or what, but I have ‘shorten long posts’ turned off of my dashboard preferences, but I’m still getting the cutoffs and buttons. Could you look into that?

I half heartedly say fantastic because I know some people like it and good.

i’m glad the mobile layout is fixed. the marketplace (fyi this isn’t amazon, this site isn’t for rich pricks to monetize) was a waste of space

For those of you new to tumblr you can make you page look any way you like. You can be all news, all thirsting, a mix… you can post whatever you want!

I do recommend you get familiar with the dashboard preferences, they help set things up the way you want

Oh and speaking of which… to get rid of that stupid live camera mess, general settings… dashboard preferences… scroll to bottom and toggle on “snooze live… whatever it says lol”. The suck is too hade to do it once a week to keep it away but still better then that thing being there

Oh Thank God! I finally learned how to remove Tumblr Live! It’s only for seven days but I don’t care! It’s gone! And I will continue to remove it every time it pops up!

Is anyone else getting the “View Post” on longer reboot chains too? I have the shorten post setting turned off on mobile but still having this issue and can’t find a work around

Reminder: you do not have to reblog obvious bait. When someone's saying wild dumb shit in bad faith and it has no notes, the best things you can do are A. Ignore it. Block them and let their post flop. B. Make your own post. You can always talk past people rather than with them. (Added bonus that you're always the winner when you're educating instead of arguing.)

hello! i wanted to ask what platform you stream on? sorry if you already said it before, i couldn't find it.

(oh geeze, I'm sorry for answering this SO late, I missed it at first!)

I don't really stream anymore, but I've been using picarto -- I've never used any of the extra features like tipping or widgets, but there's some cool-looking stuff and it all looks pretty easy to set up! :D if I ever get back to streaming, I should make some custom emotes...
