Note: there's slight disagreements between this and data I've posted in the past, because I've done some "reasonable fudging". There were some data points where I made notes to myself about how confident I was, and some high/low ranges based on that. Rereading the Roman portion, and I hate the word "salt" more and more. Chemically, it's shorthand for an oxidized metal cation attached to a soluble anion, but it just makes me think of table salt.
