TheTriumphantPanda's 4,000 Follower Celebration
Join me for a night at Charlie's Tavern!
I am still so incredibly grateful to you all for being here, for continuing to support me, and for enjoying it enough around here to stick around! I say it all the time, but you all are such a joy in my life, and I love this little corner of the internet that I've managed to carve out. Thank you for everything, I love you all! 🧡
To celebrate, we're going to do one of my favourite things - head to the bar for a raucous evening! All you have to do is send your drink order to my inbox, and any other information that I've listed on the menu above, and I'll serve you up something wonderful!
As with any good bar night, you can order as many drinks as you want, but please send them in separately! 🍸🍹🍷
Negroni Sbagliato - Pick a prompt from the list below (or one of your own!), and a Pedro boy, and I’ll give you a perfectly stirred 500 word drabble
Aperol Spritz - Send your order into my inbox and I’ll make you a perfectly mixed moodboard. All you have to do is send a Pedro boy and a situation, and you’re Aperol Spritz is served
Virgin Piña Colada - A playlist based on your mood. Send your order into my inbox and I’ll give you a freshly blended playlist to match whatever mood you’re in
Amaretto Sour - For Mutuals Only! Order an amaretto sour and I’ll tell you which object from our beloved Pedro boy I think you are! Joel’s flannel? Oberyn’s gold robe? Coming right up!
Large Glass of Wine - No good bar night is complete without a therapy session over a glass of wine. Do you have tension with a friend? Maybe nervous about a first date? Spill what you’re comfortable with and i’ll give you my advice over a large glass
Margarita - Order a margarita (all variations welcome!) and let me know what kind of fic you’re looking for, and I’ll do my best to rec some options for new reading!

Animals/Pets Headcanons
I didn't know what to do this week and I just thought of this silly idea randomly, so there it is ! Here are some pets Headcanons on various characters :
♥ Hi everyone ! ♥
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Inazuma Eleven :
Dave Quagmire (Dvalin) absolutely adores cats ! Especially black cats ! He will eventually adopt a little kitten and name it Grâces.
Edgar once found a Hoopoe who was injured in one of its wings. It was hit by a bullet. Edgar will take care of it, and once he will give it back its freedom after it was able to fly again, the bird decided to stay by Edgar's side. Edgar will adopt it and name it Pyzio. It will grow larger than most birds of its species.
As we all know, Arion Sherwind has a pet dog that he wanted to save from woods falling over it (Axel Blaze saved the two of them). It's uncanny dark green coloring makes it really unique. He will eventually adopt the dog and name it Spotter.

Spotter, Arion's pet dog.
Beyblade Metal Saga :
Despite being a talking dog and pretty much being able to do anything a human can do, Hokuto is still Hyoma's pet dog at the end of the day.
Hokuto, Hyoma's "pet dog".
Ever since he was young, Julian has owned a horse. Although it wasn't the best relationship at first, their bonds will grow incredibly stronger after they won their first trophy together. Julian will name his horse Antonius. But other than Antonius, he also owns 2 Royal Poodles : a black male named Ivanhoé and a female white named Færie.
Julian and his horse Antonius.
Octopath Traveler :
Throné always had a soft spot for dogs. As a kid, her dream was to have one as her friend, but she was afraid that Mother would hurt the puppy, so she never got one. It's only after she was finally free from the Blacksnakes that she adopted a puppy, and its name is Puck.
Throné and her dog Puck.
Another Code :
Ever since she was little, Elizabeth owned a pet dog named "Princess". She has never stopped looking for her mistress and will always be there for her.
Princess, Elizabeth's dog.
Ever since his childhood, Bill was always around big dogs. To this day, he still has one. A Golden Retriever named Beethoven.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm sorry it's not that much, but I didn't have that much ideas. It's gonna be better in the next weeks don't worry.

Canadian Freedom Or Hibernation Heartsick Chapters 11-14

Chapter 11 Jumping Over The Ranger
In the forest, Ranger Tabes was watching the Poppy Rangers going through the obstacle course with Lucy, her boyfriend Kale, and Ranger Martinez by her side. The Poppy Rangers have spent all day preparing for their trip to Canada. In case something terrible happens, they’ll put their bravery and smarts to good use. The final obstacle was a rock climbing wall with a bell on top of it, with the first to ring it winning the obstacle course.
“Keep going rangers!” Ranger Tabes called with Parker fell into the mud from the monkey bars. “Go back and try again, Parker!“ She then turned to Wallace who hadn’t done ten push ups. “Wallace!” She shouted the moment Wallace headed to the next obstacle. “That’s nine push ups! Go back and do ten!” Wallace went back to redo the ten push ups.
Aside from Ranger Tabes and her friends, Griff, Tom and Isaac were watching underneath the trees. “I got to say man, these Poppy Ranger dudes have really upped their game.” Griff commented.
“Imagine if they come across something big and dangerous.” Tom added. “They wouldn’t even scream in fear.”
“Isaac knows they’re standing without the face of fear.” Isaac added.
As they continued to watch, another person watched The Poppy Rangers in the shadows of the trees. Yana laid against the tree, crossing her arms, watching the kids performing the obstacle course. She arrived two hours ago, while meeting some who hung out in and outside of the Bear’s cave. Kale didn’t forget she was there the moment she appeared. In fact, no one ever told him she was also coming along.
“Lucy.” He gets her attention. “Have you ever talked to this person?” He pointed at Yana.
“No.” Lucy responded. “I’ve talked to nearly everyone who’s coming along, including them.” She pointed at Griff’s group
“Have you met her Tabes?” He turned to Ranger Tabes.
“Not now, I’m paying attention here.” Tabes responded.
Ranger Martinez turned to Yana as he’s just as curious as Kale is. “Are The Poppy Rangers almost done?” He turned to Tabes.
“After this course, they’re all set for the trip.”
Nguyen and Murphy were the first to climb up the rock climbing course with them being neck and neck. Upon reaching near to the top, Nguyen hit the bell just before Murphy, as she began the first ranger to win the course. “I won!” She shouted.
“Have we done enough!?” Murphy asked, panting heavily.
“You’ve all done enough!” Ranger Tabes smiled. “You’re all ready for Canada!”
The Poppy Rangers cheered as Nguyen and Murphy all got back down from the rock climbing wall. “Three hours of training really feels like three days of no sleep or bathroom breaks.” Ranger Martinez commented. “Are you sure you can handle this?”
“Yes. While I wished the bears would give us days or a week, it never stops The Poppy Rangers and their bravery.”
As The Poppy Rangers took a drink from their water bottles, Grizz and Ice Bear appeared from the trees as they noticed Yana. “There she is.” Grizz pointed.
Ice Bear got some answers from the people by the cave, but on the other hand, there wasn’t a lot of progress she made of getting to know them. He and Grizz walked up to her as she took notice.
“You’re here so early?” Yana smirked. “Don’t worry, I’ve at least gotten to know two people.”
“Isaac and Chloe?” Ice Bear guessed.
“Maybe.”
“Yana.” Grizz chimed in. “Have you been standing there for a while?”
“I’ve been watching these kids.” She pointed at The Poppy Rangers. “They’ve been going around in circles on this obstacle course.”
“You didn’t talk to them? Especially with Ranger Tabes? And Lucy and her boyfriend?”
“Nope. I’ve seen they see me as the odd one out. They never saw that with the others.”
Ice Bear was aware everyone around took time to know each other’s names upon heading back by the cave. But since there’s not enough time left until tonight’s party before tomorrow's plane trip, Canada would be an empty experience for Yana. Without hesitation, he took her arm.
“Ice Bear demands you to make an impression with Tabes and Lucy, now.”
“Okay, I’ll do something.”
With Grizz walking from behind, Ice Bear and Yana walked up to Ranger Tabes with Lucy and Kale taking notice.
“Hey it’s Grizz and Ice Bear.” Griff smiled.
“With a girl.” Tom added. “She’s really not my type.”
“Isaac predicts conflict.” Isaac added.
“Hey Grizz and Ice Bear.” Lucy smiled.
“Where’s Panda?” Kale added.
“He’s in the cave in his room, hanging out with Amanda and her brother and sister.” Grizz answered. “Are The Poppy Rangers ready, Tabes?”
“Definitely.” Ranger Tabes smiled as she witnessed Yana for the first time. “Who’s this person?”
“Yana.” Ice Bear spoked.
“Yana?” Kale commented. “She’s…interesting.”
“What makes you think that?” Yana wondered.
“It’s your tattoo on your upper arm.”
“Like your two arms with tattoos all over it?” Yana looked straight at his arms. “Must be very painful to get all of them on.”
“It is…for only my first tattoo.”
“He got used to it.” Lucy added. “But still, I like your tattoo.”
“See, you’re getting along easily.” Grizz smiled.
“Hold on.” Ranger Tabes walked up to Yana. “Just because I’ve talked to nearly everyone who’s coming along, doesn’t mean I’m believing a word from her.”
“You think I’m a threat?” Yana guessed.
“No, but you’re someone who wouldn’t be a ranger in my eyes.”
“Oh geez.” Grizz lowered his head.
With The Poppy Rangers witnessing Yana in person, Diaz walked up to her, whom she took notice of. “Is it because you prefer minors as rangers rather than confident adults?”
“Hey, there’s nothing wrong with having kids as rangers.” Ranger Martinez chimed in.
“Yeah, regardless if Canada doesn’t have rocks for them to climb.” Ranger Tabes said.
“And you think I’m not incapable of climbing rocks?” Yana replied.
“You won’t keep up with me, unlike Lucy.”
Lucy turned to Tabes, confused from her choice of words. “What’s your problem with her?” She spoked.
“Yeah? She’s not a threat.” Grizz added.
“Ice Bear never wanted Yana to have a frenemy.” Ice Bear added.
“It’s not that, nor do I not trust her, but what would she do to prove to me she can make this trip better?” Ranger Tabes replied.
“She could do something out of the blue?” Diaz commented as everyone turned their attention to her. “Like…what would we do to get your approval that’s way better than getting a badge?”
“That’s a one in a million chance.”
“I doubt that.” Yana crossed her arms. “In my book, I went through more than one in a million chances.”
“At least I believe the bears way more since I protect the forest’s animals all the time.”
“Well, not long since I’m gonna do that job while you’re gone.” Ranger Martinez said.
“Guys, me and my boyfriend might do something out of the blue.” Lucy replied.
“So could the bears.” Kale commented.
“If there’s one thing I’m sure we can agree on, our own vacations aren't about who gets the better vacation. And Tabes.” She turned to her. “If you had to spend one day with her, would you find her at least enjoyable?”
Ranger Tabes wanted to believe Lucy, especially what awaits her tomorrow, including The Poppy Rangers but her plans aren’t the same as Yana. She knows Yana is one of those people who's willing to come over to the Tornado, but her plans, despite sleeping in a hotel, are little inside of cities.
“No.” She answered. “Because…”
“Because I’m not like you?” Yana guessed.
“Yes.”
When she turned to the obstacle course, it gave her an idea. “How about a challenge?”
“For fun, not competition!” Grizz reacted.
“Yes, no competition.” Ranger Tabes agreed. “What challenge?”
“A race on the obstacle course.” Yana answered. “Just one lap for the first person to ring the bell.”
“You wanna race with me?”
“Yes.”
“Do you mind if I join?” Lucy offered. “I want to see how fast she is compared to me.”
“As Co-Rangers, we’ll show her our ranger spirit.”
“Rangers!” Diaz turned to The Poppy Rangers. “Ranger Tabes and Co-Ranger Lucy’s racing against the new girl in the obstacle course!”
The Poppy Rangers cheered as they moved away from the obstacle course, watching from the sidelines. As Tabes, Lucy and Yana went to the starting line, Griff and his friends walked next to Grizz and Ice Bear. “Hey Grizz.” Griff smiled. “What’s going on here?”
“Who’s she?” Tom wondered.
“She’s Yana.” Grizz answered. “She’s…Ice Bear’s partner, coming along.”
“Partner?”
“It’s a long confusing story that me and Panda learned last night.”
Ice Bear didn’t respond, as he’s paid attention to Yana racing against his friends. He expected something simple, but as long as it’s a good first impression, he’ll take it. Yana stared at the obstacle course, as she placed her hands on the ground in position. “Are you sure you can do this without practicing the course at least once?” Lucy said, also getting into position.
“It’s not like we’re gonna remember this course when we get back.” Yana said. “But we will remember the outcome.”
“You wish.” Ranger Tabes being the final to get into position. “Bet your outcome in Canada won’t be as great as mine.”
Wallace placed the whistle in her mouth as she blew it hard. Ranger Tabes, Lucy and Yana ran to the balance steps with Tabes being the first to get on. Upon stepping on the ten steps while getting on the staircase, their next obstacle is the high ropes. Tabes got on the first high rope while Lucy got on second.
“I’m starting to think that Yana isn’t the fastest.” Tom commented.
“It’s still the start of the course.” Griff added.
“Even if she did get ahead, Lucy would still beat her for how fast she is.” Kale added.
Yana managed to finish the high ropes as she crawled underneath the boot camp obstacle. She’s on Lucy’s tail, who’s also on Tabe’s tail, she’s not giving up in order to prove a point to Tabes. After getting out of the boot camp obstacle, Tabes and Lucy got on the monkey bars while Yana jumped to the fourth bar.
“Coming through, Co-Rangers!” She climbed in between them as she’s in the lead.
The ten push ups were the next as Yana jumped down, doing her push ups as fast as she could. “You’re still not gonna win!” Ranger Tabes taunted as she and Lucy began their push ups.
Yana finished her push ups, but it wasn’t long until Tabes and Lucy finished theirs. “Man, they’re doing great!” Grizz smiled.
“Talk about years of athletics.” Parker smiled. “Tabes is still doing great.”
“But Yana’s doing better.” Nguyen added.
After doing the following obstacle, all that’s left was the rock climbing wall. Yana got in the middle while Tabes and Lucy got to the left and right separately. Even with it outdoors, it was almost the same size from the one in the gym from San Francisco. Ranger Tabes and Yana are neck and neck, while Lucy starts to climb faster.
“You’re starting to sweat?” Yana grinned.
“I never sweat!” Tabes responded. “Especially Lucy!”
With everyone watching, They climbed past the middle section of the rock climb itself. “Have you ever climbed borders?” Lucy panted. “Tabes trained me to climb them.”
“You don’t know what I’m capable of!” Yana responded. “Just because your ranger friend thinks I’m the odd one in the group, doesn’t mean I’m the boring one.” She went faster, focusing on the objects to climb on before Tabes and Lucy.
“They’re getting close to the top.” Ranger Martinez spoked.
“You can’t prove to me you’re not the boring one!” Tabes said.
Yana climbed to the top as she rang the bell, being the winner of the obstacle course but knew it wouldn't impress Tabes. She turned around, looking down at Tabes as she and Lucy looked up at her.
“Then I bet you'll be jealous of this.” Yana jumped over Tabes, off the top of the rock climb as Lucy stared at her before she got to the top. Everyone watched Yana fall straight down the air while Isaac took out his phone, recording it when it happened. As for Ice Bear, he knew she would do something like this, but not in a stunt of showing off. She landed on the ground with her feet, but she wasn’t harmed upon landing. She lifted her body back up with her hair flow on her back, with a grin on her face.
“Whoa!” Lucy reacted.
“She didn’t break a bone.” Tabes blinked, looking down.
The Poppy Rangers cheered as they ran up to Yana. “That was awesome!” Murphy shouted.
“You landed on the ground like a superhero!” Wallace added.
“Just don’t do it yourselves in Canada.” Yana responded. “There's a reason trained professionals never ever jump off high cliffs.”
Grizz and the others felt like they watched a stunt double perfmored in a movie, but in a real scenario rather than a staged one. It would take dedication to perform an extremely dangerous stunt like that. “My girlfriend would never do that.” Kale commented.
“It would no doubt break her legs.” Ranger Martinez added.
“We really need to know Yana now.” Tom added. “She’s a tough lady.”
“She’s gonna make the trip really fun.” Griff added.
“We're going to the cave now!” Yana called to the bears. “I’m ready for Canada!”
As Yana and The Poppy Rangers left the area, Ranger Tabes and Lucy climbed back down. They walked up to the group who felt stunted the entire time. “If the animals here saw what she just did,” Ranger Tabes spoked. “They won’t believe I would do that.”
“At least she did something out of the blue.” Grizz smiled.
“Too far out of the blue if you ask me.” Lucy responded. “Maybe she’s more of an outsider friend.”
“Ice Bear’s outsider’s status agrees with you.” Ice Bear said.
“He would tell you everything about her, but it’s time to head to the cave.” Grizz pointed in the direction.
“Yeah, it’s getting late and you all need to be on time for your flight tomorrow morning.” Ranger Martinez added.
“But what do you think of Yana, Tabes?”
As Tabes tried to accept the fact she got beaten fair and square, she took a deep breath to focus on tonight’s party. “She’s nowhere near as bad as the Ivy Rangers, and Ranger Zhao.”
“At least in a cocky way, Zhao wouldn’t perform a stunt like that.” Lucy smiled.
“Yeah, she would’ve stayed in the hospital for a long time.”
“Thankfully, she and the rangers aren’t coming with us.”
“Exactly.” Grizz said as he and the group headed back. “As long as no one’s coming after us, it’ll be the greatest Canada trip ever.”
“You said it dude.” Griff responded.

Chapter 12 Night Party Before Aviation
Night has officially fallen with everyone hanging out at the party in and around the Bear’s cave. Everyone parked their vehicles knowing the first thing they’re doing tomorrow morning is drive out of the forest and straight to the airport. They agreed to the bears sleeping over for tonight so they can all leave together. With everything out of the way, all that’s left is to enjoy themselves for the night with their big adventure coming tomorrow.
Inside Panda's bedroom, Panda’s reading one of his volumes of Dr. Ocelot with Amanda, Chanda and Tatiana. “I’m starting to love Dr. Ocelot.” Tatiana smiled.
“I told you, you would enjoy it.” Panda replied.
“She really knows how to kick butt!” Chanda added.
“I would bring more volumes along but…it’s a long story that happened underneath.” Panda pointed at the ground.
Amanda’s brother and sister laughed while Amanda walked next to Panda. “If there’s an anime convention in Toronto, they would like to see Dr. Ocelot live in person. That’ll be enough to read many more volumes.”
“That’s where we’re taking them before we leave.” After Panda put his Dr. Ocelot volume away, he, Amanda and her siblings headed outside of his bedroom. They head outside the cave where Ice Bear’s handing out drinks, while Chloe is assisting Grizz to set up his speech with Gayle by his side. “I’m gonna be with the bros now.”
“Okay, I’ll hang out with Samantha for the rest of the night.” Amanda smiled. “Let’s go Chanda and Tatiana.”
“See ya, Panda!” They both cheered.
“See ya too, get some good rest tonight.” Panda made his way to Grizz with a microphone in his hand. “So, is everyone here?”
“Everyone we know is here.” Grizz responded.
“And I’ll do a head count when we all get outside tomorrow.” Gayle smiled.
“Be ready to make your speech Grizz.” Chloe turned to him. “It’s almost ready.”
“No problem.” Grizz responded as Chloe went back to set up the speakers. “I’m ready to step foot in Canada. Are you excited?”
“Yes I am.” Panda responded. “So aside from Nom Nom…if we meet him, what are you planning to do in Canada?”
“Hang out with Pan-Pan and Ice B!” He cheered. “We at least deserve a day hanging out together.”
“Yes, but on your own.” This caused Grizz to look at Panda. “On my own, I’m hanging out with Amanda and her siblings while Ice Bear might be on his own. If you’re gonna be on your own, there’s at least something you should search for.”
Grizz had been going everywhere with his brothers doing the same, to have everyone be all set for the flight. But now, all that’s left is what he’s gonna do on his own. Finding the excitement coming his way that could give his Canada adventure memories he’ll forever remember.
Meanwhile, farther away from the party, Charlie and Panda Jr. slowly made their way to the party lights. With his only goal to inform Ralph about the time to get a head start tomorrow morning, he’ll do anything to go with them as long as he doesn’t get caught.
“I can hear them.” Charlie spoke quietly. “There’s gonna be a lot of people there.” Panda Jr. hid behind Charlie’s head as Charlie saw people hanging out with each other. He noticed Ranger Tabes with Kirk by her side, talking to Karla and her sister, Amy. Upon hiding the bushes, he heard their conversation.
“You’re gonna miss the animals here?” Karla asked.
“Yes, every single one of them.” Ranger Tabes responded. “As much as they should feel the wonders of Canada, I can only bring one animal along.” She looked down at Kirk who barked.
“I went through this place a few times and came across animals.” Amy smiled. “But since you know all the creatures here, what’s the most important animal who should come even if they won’t?”
Ranger Tabes took out a picture of a deer with a broken antler and showed it to them. “My second most important animal is Little Buck.” She responded.
“Oh, what happened to his antler?” Karla wondered.
“I broke it, but it was an accident. He still managed to be with another deer even with only one antler.” She leaned towards them, whispering in their ears. “He fought a homewrecker.”
“Really?” Amy giggled. “We could see something like that in Canada.”
Ranger Tabes leaned back. “The Poppy Rangers could encounter something like that, but most of the animals are mostly friendly.”
“So what’s your first important animal who should really come?”
“Charlie.” She put her photo away.
“Charlie?” Karla followed on. “What type of animal is he?”
“I can’t say that.”
“How come?”
“Because…he’s not the type to hang out with humans.”
“He’s shy?”
“No, he’s really afraid of humans.”
Charlie couldn’t believe his name was in a conversation, but felt relieved Ranger Tabes told them the truth on why he isn’t in the public eye of humans.
“I feel like him coming along would put him in an environment he’ll enjoy the most. Especially since…Canada has more forests compared to here.”
“Considering the amount of animals you’ve taken care of, they wouldn’t be part of a herd if they’re traveling separately.”
“They could travel together as a big herd.” Amy responded. “Forest to forest meeting more big herds, it does happen.”
“It is true and Charlie does meet other animals. But it’s really sad he’s not gonna experience it. And either way, he’s not gonna get over his fear towards humans which is something that still wouldn’t happen if he came along.”
Charlie slowly lowered his head in shame. No matter what happens if he succeeds tonight, tomorrow morning, and arrives in Canada, he can’t face his fear in any situation he could get stuck in. “Ralph would brag out in the open if they ever met him.”
“Everyone!” Grizz spoked through the microphone, getting everyone’s attention as Ranger Tabes, Karla and Amy made their way to the wooden stage where Grizz is at. As everyone gathered up to Grizz, Charlie paid attention to Grizz’s words while still hiding his presents. “It’s really an amazing honor that we’re all here for our trip to Canada tomorrow.”
Chloe then pressed a button, releasing a Canadian flag next to Grizz. Everyone clapped with some cheering. “Canada, here we come!” Samantha shouted.
“Now we're leaving at three o’clock in the morning, so we have enough time to get to the airport for our flight at four o’clock.”
“It’s gonna be almost five hours until we arrive in Canada.” Chloe added.
“If nothing bad happens, we should be there at nine o’clock.”
“That’s really hard for some of us to get up.” Clifford commented.
“Then you don’t know how I feel when I wake up so early every morning.” Lucy looked down at her brother.
“But at the very least, we can check into our hotels and get straight to our adventures.” Grizz smiled. “It’s a big country, so we'll be there for a long time…” He then looked at Darrell who he clenched his teeth. “...but only the places that'll be close to us.”
“I know.” Darrell responded.
“But Toronto’s a big city with so many activities to do. There’s more than enough for all of us to have fun.”
Panda and Ice Bear all got up next to Grizz as he handed Panda the microphone. “There may be problems when we get there, but it’s better than not going at all.”
Ice Bear leaned towards Panda’s arm. “Ice Bear is sure there’s no tearing groups apart from beginning to end.” He leaned back.
“Including couples, with one giving her siblings the adventure of a lifetime.” Panda looked straight at Amanda who adored his comment. Panda gave the microphone back to Grizz to give the final saying of the speech.
“We have one more hour to party until bedtime, let’s savor every single second for our adventure to Canada!” Grizz lifted his hand up as everyone cheered.
They continued to party for the following hour as Charlie had the information he needed to inform Ralph later. He made the choice to stay a little longer even though he can’t party with them. It wasn’t easy, but he was lucky no one had spotted him, including the bears and Ranger Tabes. When it all ended, nearly everyone slept inside the cave while the rest slept in the shack behind the cave.
Inside Grizz’s room, Grizz was the last to stay awake while everyone, including his brothers went to sleep. He still thought about what Panda said to him and if he did tell his friends about it, they'd give him options but it’s the obvious direction. His mind about Canada since yesterday is more of a mystery the more he thinks about it.
“I’ve been spending most of my life wanting to get recognized by everyone here…” He sat on his bed. “...Canada’s like a free ticket of happiness.” He took a deep breath in order to focus on the arrival tomorrow. “It’s never a bad thing, but if we had passports while running away…Agent Trout wouldn’t interfere with any of the animals there if he tried.”
His memory flashed, remembering how he almost lost his brothers behind cell bars. But he’s no longer afraid of him, especially after the time he finally stood up to him, along with the other bears he and his brother rescued. One thing’s for sure, he knows there's bears in Canada’s forests. It may not be the first thing he’ll do when he gets there but he’s waiting until it happens.
He tucked himself to bed to be prepared for the early rise tomorrow morning. “Keep it chill Grizz, everything’s going to be fine, it’s just you, your bros and a whole group of friends coming along. Nothing will ever ruin this adventure.” He closed his eyes as he became the last to fall asleep. Little did he realize, Charlie watched him through the window with Panda Jr. still by him.
He refuses to wake him up along with the other people inside. But he’s really thankful to go out in the open without getting spotted, despite the risk. He went to the Canadian flag, still hanging as he walked up to it. Panda Jr. looked at the flag himself while Charlie took a deep breath. “Well…it’s our Canada adventure if we bypass the airport and get onto the plane they’re going on.” He commented. “I just wish Ralph’s smart enough to do that.”
Panda Jr. looked at him as Charlie looked straight at him. “I know we don’t have enough time to say goodbye to our friends in the forest, but I was too desperate.” He looked back at the cave, still relieved that no one from inside spotted him. “The bears wouldn’t even believe how I got to Canada uninvited. In fact, they haven’t been thinking about Ralph for a long time.”
He again looked at Panda Jr. “Ralph isn’t as bad as what they’ve been through.” He then left the location, heading straight to where Ralph is at. He’s uncertain how Ralph can do it, but once he gives him the information, it’s all his doing to sneak him onto the plane. But no matter what, he’s dealing with his own problems the instant he’s done with Ralph’s help.

Chapter 13 The Bewitching Little Trap
Barry, along with his syndicate, arrived in Vancouver, Canada, high over the city as they flew past the airport. The jet turned after leaving the city, heading to the North Shore Mountains where HQ is located, away where the citizens can’t find it. The jet began to descend towards the runway as Barry and his syndicate readied themselves. The jet stopped at the end of the runway, next to the HQ with only the streetlights on.
“We’re here.” Barry smirked as he and the group got up. The jet's door opened, allowing the syndicate to disembark, heading straight to the building.
“You really know how to put money into good use, do you?” Buck turned to Barry.
“It’s the technology where I put my money into good use.” Berry responded.
“Never found technology a specialty.”
“Neither do I.” Courtney chimed in. “But I’m not against it when it’s a weapon against the bears.”
The syndicate entered inside the building with their first destination being the storage room. All the way at the back of HQ. Barry made sure all the contents of his plan remained hidden from the public eye. Especially the people he joined for not only his, but their own revenge. “The organization that I work in is Techies Gang.”
“And you keep that as a private organization?” Buck asked.
“I wouldn’t have all the money I have if it was public.” They then came across a door that was wide open. Buck checked inside where people are playing a robot battle game with tons of robots being destroyed.
“You really have a sense of aggression.”
“I would consider my sense of…triumphant.” Barry turned around.
“That is, if triumphant requires aggression.” Dave commented.
“He’s really triumphant when he can overcome the innocents.” Norm added. “In this case, I’m looking forward to what tech he has in storage.”
They made it to the door where everything according to the plan was behind. Barry took out his keys and unlocked it, opening it so the rest of his syndicate could come inside. They witnessed another person waiting for them, chewing gum along with a big black curtain in the end of the room. “We're heading to Toronto tomorrow, in the late afternoon on our private jet to put our plan into motion.” Barry responded. “So in the meantime, let me give you a warm welcome to our biggest weapon against the Panda lover.”
They walked up to the person who took notice of them the moment they came in. He had long brown hair that stopped on his shoulders, he had a green coat with ripped pants with his knees revealing. He blew a bubble of his gum, popping it in front of the syndicate as he grinned. “How's it going?”
“Really devious.” Courtney responded as Barry and Dave walked next to him.
“This guy is Gabriel.” Barry said. “Dave called him just a couple of days ago and he’s been here since.”
“It’s all part of breaking Panda’s heart.” Dave added. “Since he broke my heart.”
“Yes yes, you established your old love life.” Buck rolled his eyes. “I never got married, but never been on an island.”
“Are you on my side or not?”
“I am. So what’s the strategy?”
“The strategy,” Gabriel spoked. “Is to show Panda and his girlfriend that I’m more than just a guy, but someone who’s just a cool citizen in Toronto who wants to be friends.”
“Nothing to do with love?”
“Oh, there will be love. Just because I'm a weapon of breaking a panda bear’s heart, doesn’t mean I’m stupid.”
“He’s not a fan of anime from what he told me, he’s an intellectual of romance.” Dave grinned. “Movies, sitcoms, ever since he turned thirteen.”
Buck and the others catched on with him being the person that he is. “Did you cheat on your girlfriend?” Buck wondered.
“Yes.” Gabriel answered.
“Did you have remorse for your actions?”
“No, I don’t.”
“That explains everything.”
“Better than getting an actual loser.” Barry said as he made his way to the poster of Grizz, Panda and Ice Bear displayed on the left side of the storage. “And I’m sure if we ever get into a roadblock of any kind, we'll make sure we kick them down.” He then turned around, crossing his arms. “Our main goal of heading to Toronto is to abduct one member of their group, taking him or her here so they can’t go back without a friend left behind.”
“That’s the issue.” Courtney commented while also crossing his arms. “We’ve only met one of their friends, not even half.”
“Capturing Dana, who went to Ranger Con isn’t enough.” Norm added. “There has to be one friend who is more precious to them.”
Buck remembered that after the bears were taken away, he met four people who they’re friends with the bears. He did see a very young kid with glasses, who stood out the most while the others were adults. “There’s a kid who I still remember.” Buck getting everyone’s attention. “She’s really that precious to them. I don’t know her name, but she’s the one they’re never ever leaving Canada without.”
“Great.” Barry replied. “You should be the one to abduct her.”
“We just need to know where they’re staying, while keeping their friends out of it.”
“We’ll split up when we arrive in Toronto, then we will reunite to abduct her.”
“Mate.” Courtney responded. “You said on the way here, I’m going to a forest nearby.”
“Yes, but it isn’t gonna be for hunting.” Barry walked past him. “You'll get your vengeance against them later. Because what comes first.” He and the group walked up to the black curtain. “Will be our greatest trap.” They enter inside with everything being pitch black. Barry took out his remote in his pocket, pressing a button with one light turning on from the end of the storage room.
There was a cage with one bear cub inside, taking notice of the light turning on but in fear without any freedom. She turned to Barry who just came up to her, she backed away to the other side of the cage. Buck and the others witnessed the cub itself as it was almost the same color as Ice Bear.
“This little creature will be everything according to the plan.”
“So I gotta drop this critter in the forest by Toronto?” Courtney looked at the cub. “Expected the cub to be vicious.”
“It wouldn’t even make our plan work.” Barry then placed his arm on top of the cage. “They may not find it tomorrow night, or the day after tomorrow, but they will find it to take care of it.”
“And just how are we gonna accomplish that afterwards?” Gabriel said.
Barry snapped his fingers, getting the attention from one of his members of Techies Gang with a silver briefcase. Upon giving it to him, Barry unlocked it with the combination, presenting the contents to his syndicate as he opened it. The contents inside revealed items of stickers, different colors and shapes.
“Don’t be fooled with these.” He smirked. “These stickers are not only permanent once being put on, but they have a really small camera for us to spot anything that happens.”
“Interesting.” Buck grinned. “Hard to believe, but I’ll take it.”
The cub’s shaking, afraid of what they’re gonna do to her. “So which one should we pick?”
“I think I found the one that makes her really innocent.” Buck picked up the neon-blue star sticker, while looking at the cub and back to the sticker. “This color matches her.”
“I agree with him.” Norm commented.
“Let’s put it on her.” Dave added.
Barry closed the briefcase as he took out his key, unlocking the cage. Upon opening it, Countney grabbed the cub with his hand, taking her out while holding onto her with both of his hands. A tear came down from the cub’s eye, but it didn’t stop the syndicate’s plan. Buck peeled the end off as he turned to the cub. “This won’t hurt you at all.” He went closer to her. “But it’ll hurt them more when the time comes.” He placed the sticker on her chest, tightly as the cub closed her eyes. Courtney immediately put her back into the cage as Barry locked the cage.
“They can try everything to get it off, it’ll never come off.” Barry replied as he took out his phone, revealing the camera’s perspective on the cub’s sticker. “We'll be watching everything.”
“I can’t think of a better way to begin our revenge tomorrow.”
“Feels great to be part of the group now, Buck?”
“More grateful.” Buck crossed his arms as he and the syndicate watched the cub inside the cage with a star sticker on her chest. “The bears will never cross the border of any country ever again.” The cub covered her eyes with her hands, sobbing with no way out. The moment she gets dropped off in the forest, the rest is history with no one to stop it, including the bears and their group. The syndicate left the area with Barry being the last to stop.
“Sweet dreams and nightmares.” He pressed the button to turn off the light, leaving the cub alone in the darkness as she continued to cry throughout the night.

Chapter 14 Hidden 35,000 Feet High
At two thirty in the morning, Charlie, Panda Jr. and Ralph made a head start out of the forest while wearing disguises. Panda Jr. hid in Charlie’s disguise in one of the pockets as they arrived by the airport just before the time the bears and the group arrived. Charlie felt too tired without sleeping over the night just to follow Ralph. He couldn’t keep his body up as once he snuck in, the first thing on his mind was sleeping throughout the flight.
As they hid behind a truck, Ralph kept an eye on his surroundings, making sure no one caught him in the act. “Charlie.” Ralph turned to him. “Wake up.”
“I’m trying.” Charlie attempts to keep his eyes open. “You sure you know what you’re doing?”
“Never doubt me. There’s a reason why we’re not going inside.”
“Does each plane have directions from the airport building?”
“Yes, but to stay out of sight, we’re taking the safer route.” As they moved to the next truck, Ralph saw the plane with the Canadian colors on it, along with the logo. “There she is.”
As Charlie looked at the plane, he couldn’t believe the bears did it. “That’s enough for their whole group to be inside.”
“That’s right. We're entering where all their luggage goes.”
“How are we getting out when we get there?”
“Don’t worry, I’ve got that figured out. Just keep following my lead.”
Inside the airport, the bears and their group were waiting for the announcement to get on their flight. Some were tired from waking up way earlier than normal, while others were less lethargic. The bears sat together with all of their and the group’s luggage all packed. Panda felt a little energetic hanging out with Amanda and her siblings, while Ice Bear’s ready for his first activity in Toronto. Grizz however remained feeling down ever since he got up. He’s still considering the first activity to do even if it’s a work in progress until they get there. He looked at the clock as it was almost time to get on board.
“Ice Bear.” Panda turned to Ice Bear. “Should I wake some of them up in case they fall over on their way to the plane?” Ice Bear nodded as Panda got up, preparing to get most of the people ready. “Any ideas for yourself Grizz?”
“We can talk about it when we board.” Grizz responded. Panda accepted the offer as he went to his friends. Grizz looked out the window where his plane is next to the air bridge. The Canada logo is where he’ll be seen anywhere upon arriving, as so do his brothers and friends. Once they get inside the plane, their adventure will be waiting for them in less than five hours.
Just when their announcement was up, back outside, the employees opened the cargo hold, as they turned their attention to the luggage coming out. As they prepared to carry their luggage, Charlie and Ralph immediately got inside the cargo hold without getting caught. Upon reaching the end, the employees tossed the luggage inside, they paid attention to more luggage while Charlie and Ralph crawled down, camouflaging behind the luggage itself.
Back inside the airport, the whole group got inside the plane thanks to the air bridge. The bears took their seats in first class, along with their best friends sitting around them. With the rest of the luggage being put in the cargo hold, the employees closed it up. “We’re all set.” The employee spoke through his headset.
The pilot received the message as he turned on the speakers inside all the classes. “Ladies, gentlemen and bears.” He spoke through the microphone. “We’re about to take off to Toronto, Canada. We'll be landing there in five hours, so sit back, relax and enjoy your flight.”
With the air bridge being moved away, the plane began to move to the runway. In no time, the plane sped up and eventually lifted into the air. Everyone looked out their windows as they climbed out, leaving San Francisco. “Well, we’re off.” Karla commented.
“It’s finally happening.” Griff added.
“Won’t be back until we all feel like it.” Ranger Tabes added.
“Canada essay, here I come.” Saanvi added.
Soon the plane left behind San Francisco, with the lights disappearing into the distance. It climbed up through the clouds, high enough above them with not a single person in the group behind. Inside the cargo hold, Ralph sat down relaxing while Charlie laid down with Panda Jr. coming out of his pocket. “We did it, for now.” He responded.
“Told you to never doubt me.” Ralph responded. “Enjoy your sleep while it lasts, you’re on your own.”
“I know.” Charlie responded. “I don’t need to ask if you miss San Francisco.”
“That place got stale as milk anyway. Just make sure you come up with a way to get back on the plane back there.”
“Doing what we just did?”
“Yes, unless the airport in Canada has better security.” Charlie moaned with his slumber getting the better of him. He laid his head on the ground as Panda Jr. slept next to him. “He has nothing, while I’m basking all the glory being gift wrapped for myself.” Ralph laid his head with his arms against the wall as he waited for the plane to land.
Three hours passed, as the sun shone through the windows of the plane. Everyone woke up from the slumber as they filled their spare time, with nearly two more hours until landing. Panda and Ice Bear waited patiently while Grizz watched his Crowbar Jones projects to pass the time.
“Grizz.” Panda poked on Grizz’s arm as Grizz paused his project. “Since we’re on the plane…three hours have passed, do you have any ideas?”
“I’m still thinking about it.”
“You’re planning on going with Ranger Tabes and The Poppy Rangers?”
“It’s gonna happen later today, but it’s something.”
“You should at least have something to do in the meantime.”
Chloe then popped up from behind. “There’s still the hotel we need to get to.” She spoked. “Are we gonna search for one?”
“Ice Bear promises its first goal before beginning day one.” Ice Bear responded.
“I’ll check the hotels online once we land. But yeah Grizz, there has to be something for you to plan for yourself.”
“Do I have to be alone to make it work?” Grizz said.
“No, not at all.”
“No one’s going to be alone throughout the trip, but every moment is for everyone. Seek for your moment.”
“I’m sure it’s possible but the question is, does the moment seek me?”
Ice Bear then turned to Yana, who’s sitting on the other side of the first class. She looked out the window, waiting until the time came. He still remembered what she did yesterday, but knew that moment wasn’t seeking her as she seeked it herself.
“Ice Bear.” Grizz turned to him. “Are you waiting for your moment to seek you?”
“There will be many moments other than that.” Panda replied. “Plus, nothing bad’s gonna happen to us.”
“I’m aware.” Grizz turned back to Panda. “It is my idea on going to Canada, I just didn’t think we'd go this far.”
“If you never got Agent Trout arrested and saved the bears, maybe you wouldn’t be this famous by getting to Canada this way.” Chloe smiled. “Especially since we have passports now.”
“True, but on the other hand, we could’ve planned this months ahead of time, instead of just two days ago.”
“We can’t argue with that.” Panda said. “But if we did stay a little longer, we wouldn’t have the surprises come our way.”
“Canada is full of surprises despite doing research.” Chloe added. “Like when you made it to the border there, what was your first thought?”
Grizz remembered the moment he almost arrived in Canada while escaping from Agent Trout. Despite the miscalculation afterwards, it was sealed in his mind ever since. “I wanted to make a home in another cave.”
“Another cave?”
“We need to make a home to live there, so we could try finding one. We’re staying in a hotel, yeah, but it could give us the feeling when we made our home back home.”
“I like it.” Panda smiled. “But what about making the home?”
“We don’t have to. But if there’s animals homeless, we can make a home for them.”
“I don’t think there will be animals who could be homeless, but it’s worth a shot.” Chloe also smiled.
“Ice Bear’s willing for bro’s possible homecoming for lost animal.” Ice Bear commented.
“You should tell Ranger Tabes about it when you go with her.”
“I will.” Grizz smiled.
The plane continued to fly over the clouds, thirty and a half thousand feet in the air. With Grizz having a plan at least, he’ll see if there’s a cave that suits perfectly similar to the one back home, or even better.
Two hours have passed with the plane arriving at Toronto's airport. It landed on the runway and gradually slowed down. Upon reaching the gate, the employees connected an air-bridge to the plane. Back under the plane, they opened the cargo hold to get the luggage out. Once they managed to hand out the first pieces of luggage, one was thrown out on the ground, alerting them in an instant.
“What in the world?” One employee walked down from the cargo hold, witnessing the luggage being thrown out. Ralph and Charlie head out as fast as they can, jumping off just before the employee checks inside. They ran out of the airport while hiding like before. They head into the woods as Charlie panted, even after getting his sleep.
“We made it.” He spoked.
“And my work and help here is done.” Ralph grinned. “It’s been a pleasure knowing you, Charlie. Enjoy your boring adventure without me.”
“Good luck on not getting transferred.”
“That’ll be unlikely, unlike you.” Ralph headed to Toronto, leaving Charlie and Panda Jr. “Good luck having your friends protect you from that. That is…If you can handle meeting their friends.”
Charlie remained silent as he turned to the airport. He’ll be lucky if the bears helped him back to San Francisco, but he doesn’t have a passport like them. Panda Jr. got onto his shoulder as Charlie looked at him. “At least I’ve got someone to talk to.” He smiled as Panda Jr. nuzzled on his cheek. “Thanks. Let’s meet some new animals.” He went in his own direction to the forest with many animals. He may not leave on time with the bears and others when it happens, but it’s not stopping him for his own adventure with the only animal he has with him. But if they get left behind, the bears will never ever let go of their whereabouts when they find out.

THE CHRONICLES OF PANDA KHAN #1-4, PANDA KHAN SPECIAL #1
FEBRUARY 1987 - AUGUST 1990
BY MONICA SHARP AND DAVE GARCÍA
The current Panda Khan feels restless knowing that their god P'an Ku seems to have abandoned them. And the imminent attack of Lord Shibo forces him to get into action and figure out his destiny.

SCORE: 9
Yes, I am preparing a video that covers everything Panda Khan (it should have been out already, but I had to postpone it until I get some extra issues. In any case, it wasn't easy tracking down everything about this character, but this review is specific about his main book.
Monica Sharp managed to create an entire world and a full fictional mythology that has its roots in Asian culture. Chinese culture in particular. You could compare the character with Usagi Yojimbo in a way, but Panda Khan, originally, wasn't a loner, he was a leader.

But here's the trick. These are the chronicles of Panda Khan... but which one?
As I said, the main character is not named Panda Khan, that's his title. The character we know as Panda Khan is Li Yang. And to be fair, we barely see him in this book. This is an ensemble cast story, and we follow some characters that could end up being the next Panda Khan. I am trying not to spoil it much for you... I know who becomes Panda Khan... but even if you read these issues, you wouldn't be able to confirm who it is. And that's because the book got technically canceled, due to some changes in priorities for the couple behind the book. Paired with low sales, which was apparently still a problem for indie books after the black and white comic bubble bust of the mid-eighties.
However, the Panda Khan special closes this chapter and starts another. After it, Li Yang would become X-Khan... not kidding... a space pirate looking for P'an Ku. The story was never completed and we could only get a few appearances here and there.
He, technically, traveled to the present of Earth (from the future) and joined the Playmates line. But that was it.
As for the art, it looks cute at times. And it looks really impressive at others. Dave García has a very expressive style when it comes to humans. He is somewhere between Dave Gibbons and Kevin Maguire.

In a very "indie" flavor of course.
As a result this is an amazing story in both art and story, and I would have to say that the only thing that makes it 10% not perfect is that it doesn't deliver on your expectations. You see Panda Khan on the cover, and you want to read about him. Instead you learn about his world (and a couple of years later, you learn that you were technically reading the stories of the next Panda Khan as well). But if you go into this book knowing this, then it could be a 10 for you. This story is perfect for animation (and maybe one day it could an HBO show).
However, there is a Panda Khan animated series in the works, albeit, with a different cast and world. So it's Panda Khan in name and appearance only, but it doesn't seem to be an adaptation of this book. Think of the Samurai Rabbit series, as an example.
Also, if that show ever comes out, I'll be very impressed. The people behind it were too ambitious and are trying to start a shared universe. This means that Panda Khan will debut in a different cartoon first. But that is a different story.
If you are interested in reading this story... I wish you all the luck in the world to find it. However, the series is in the process of being recolored and these books are being sold somewhere officially after being kickstarted (I know you can find them).
I'm not a fan of the recoloring, but it comes with additional stories, including a brand new tale of a new villain.

He looks at you over the top of his computer screen, you can feel it. Those chocolate brown orbs staring at you as you stand to sort through the heap of paperwork on your desk. It’s been like this for months, the dancing around, looking at each other like this across the office. It’s not a secret either - some of the other girls were gossiping, not long after you started, about how he’s never kept the blinds to his office up before, not until you started.
And then there were the touches, your foot running up his legs in meetings, the palm of his hand on the small of your back when you ask him to sign something, the hand on your thigh at the company dinner a few months ago. It’s all worked its magic to make you flustered, to make you think it’s just a matter of time until you get to feel the palm of his hand underneath your clothes instead.
“Hey, girl,” You turn your head, it’s Annie from the finance department, “I’ve got to run, but can you get Dave to sign this before you go tonight?” She asks, handing over a file.
You smile at her and take the manila file in your hand, “Sure, I’ll make sure it’s back to you tomorrow morning.”
She does that thing that women who work in offices do sometimes, squeezes your wrist gently to say thank you, and then is gone in a whirl of trench coat and heels, leaving you to turn your attention back to him, and the eyes that still haven’t moved an inch from you.
The office is quiet, most people having left for the day, so you straighten yourself, pick up the file, and head to his office. You give the door a gentle tap, as if he hasn’t watched you walk over the whole way, and press down on the handle to let yourself in.
You press the door shut with your backside, pressing yourself against the door, until he motions with his head for you to walk over. Instead of standing in front of the desk though, you round it, leaning over his shoulder to put the file on the desk in front of him, opening it and pointing to the bottom of the form where it needs his signature.
Dave reaches across the desk and plucks a pen from the pot next to his phone, pulling off the cap to sign the form. He leans back, leaving the folder open, which means you have to lean forward to close it for it, and as you do, you feel that warm palm of his on the back of your thigh, just underneath the hem of your dress.
Your breath hitches in your throat as it moves higher, slowly trailing up until that hand is resting on the meat of your ass underneath your clothes. You’re suddenly so interested in what this form is for.
He squeezes, enough to make you gasp, enough to make your eyes flutter shut and for your cunt to pulse around nothing, then he speaks.
“I want to fuck you so badly.”
You can’t help but smirk, to lean back into his hand a little, “Not here,” You whisper, leaning over to grab a sticky note and the same pen he’d just used to scribble your address on, “I’ll be here all night,” You muse, picking up the file, begrudgingly moving away from his hand, “I’ll wait up.”

The whole floor was almost empty today.
Everyone was either at home or at the annual employee and sexual harassment training which was also available online for the first time since he started working at the DIA.
Greg from the office next to him left almost two hours ago, leaving Dave alone with you, the new intern slash secretary that had started working here almost seven weeks ago.
„Just like that,“ he sighed, head thrown back in his office chair, legs spread, his cock down your throat as the annoying voice in his laptop explained the difference between nonverbal and verbal sexual harassment.
You hummed, the irony of the situation not lost on you as you sucked on Dave York’s cock, your tongue moving over his length just in the way you knew he liked.
You were the typical cliché.
Getting this internship straight out of college had been the biggest deal for you and you were determined to make the best impression ever to hopefully secure a job afterwards.
And the first week ran perfectly.
So perfect that you had been recommended to your dream department which is where things went… kinda sideways.
Your boss, whose cock you were currently sucking, was a problem.
Not because he wasn’t good at his job or didn’t respect you, no. You knew that in the moment you shook his hand for the first time as you were both introduced that you were in fucking trouble.
He was fucking hot.
Tall, dark and handsome. Much older than you and with a no bullshit attitude that had you so wet by the end of the first day that you were contemplating quitting because staying professional would become a problem.
In the end it wasn’t you professionalism that would be the problem but his.
A few days after starting to work with him and his team he asked you to stay longer to go through the last couple of days and well…. You had been bend over his desk within thirty minutes and had been almost every single day since then.
It was like all common sense left your brain once Dave York asked you to come into his office and lock the door behind you. You weren’t even sure if you believed him when he told you that he was in the process of getting divorced when you had asked him if he was married, always feeling the golden ring he was wearing on his ring finger, when he wrapped his hands around your throat when he was fucking you.
And maybe all those anxious thoughts you had about fucking him in the beginning were a little dramatic.
Dave had pulled some strings and you would start working full time for his department next month.
Sure, one of the reasons (or maybe even the biggest) was so that he could keep you around, but in this economy you had no real choice to decline because of your dignity. Or…. Feminism or something.
And anyways, the whole team, not just Dave, more than once said how happy they were that you were there and how good of a job you were doing.
So getting some orgasms out of this promotion? Not the worst deal ever.
„You think this counts as verbal or nonverbal sexual harassment?" He asked, smirking down at you as you bobbed our head on his cock. You were about to release him to answer him, when you felt his hand push you down on his cock, making you gag, eyes tearing up for one moment before he released you with a chuckle.
„Nonverbal. Clearly,“ he grinned to himself, leaving his hand on the back of your head, keeping you still as he began to fuck into your mouth. Slowly at first, but you knew what was about to come.
„Sending me a fucking temptress of a intern….“ He grunted as he fucked into your mouth, deeper and deeper until he hit the back of your throat.
„And thinking I give a shit about staying professional?“ He groaned when your throat opened up with him and you choked, relaxing your mouth, letting him use you.
„Best fucking head I ever had,“ he said, enjoying the way the muscles of your throat relaxed for him.
„Best fucking pussy I ever had,“ he grunted as he pulled out of your mouth, one of his hands wrapping around his cock, pumping his cock.
„Open your mouth,“ he hissed, jaw tight as he looked down at you and you did, sticking your tongue out as he came, most of his cum landing on your face before he put his cock back into your mouth, groaning loudly.
You hummed, your tongue slipping over the head of his cock, looking up at him, looking like every mans slutty dream. Mascara running down your cheeks, his cum drying on your face.
The voice of the person doing the sexual harassment class droned in the background, talking about way to report the abuse.
Dave pulled out of your mouth and you kept your mouth open for him, knowing he would want to see.
He shook his head before he got up from his chair, fingers gripping your chin tightly as he bend down, spitting into your mouth.
„Swallow,“ he said darkly and you did, showing him your empty mouth as he slipped his fingers through his cum on your forehead, running that finger over your lips, spreading it out.
„Good girl,“ he smirked and you couldn’t stop the smile on your face as you heard him praise you.
„Now clean yourself up and get me the 5609 report,“ he said, tucking his cock back into his pants and you nodded, hissing when you got up from the floor, knees stiff.
You reached for the tissues he had in his desk, but he stopped you, shaking his head. Blinking at him you used your fingers to clean yourself up as best as you could, licking his cum off your fingers. He nodded with the hint of a smile before he tilted his head towards his office door.
Sucking your bottom lip in you walked towards the door.
„Take you panties off and leave them on the floor,“ he called after you and you looked over your shoulder, finding him not even looking at you.
„I am not wearing panties today, Sir,“ you said and his eyes found yours.
He hummed.
When he didn’t say anything more you turned away from him, hand on the doorknob to open the door.
„Then I want you to take your dress off and then get me the report,“ he said and you stilled before you slowly turned around.
„What?“ You asked in a whisper.
„I want you to take your dress of and get me the report,“ he repeated, challenge in his eyes. You gulped, knowing that he was testing you. Walking naked around his office was one thing, walking naked across the whole floor to the archive where you knew the reports were stored was something else.
„What about the cameras?“ You asked and he tilted his head.
„You trust me?“ He asked.
„I do,“ you said right away.
„Then take you dress off and get me the report,“ he said again. He was waiting as you made your decision, a smile sneaking to his lips as you reached for the zipper of your dress. Your fingers shaking as you pulled your dress off.
Taking a deep breath you looked at him.
You knew the game he was playing with you would be over with one single word coming from your lips, but part of you found a special kind of thrill letting Dave be the one in total control.
„The report?“ He asked again and you nodded, before you turned around, unlocking and opening the door.
„Don’t leave me waiting too long,“ he called after you as you took your first step outside, finding the whole floor sitting in darkness with just the emergency lights on.
As quick as possible you made your way through the office, grabbing the report he wanted before making your way back, screaming when you felt a hand wrap around your wrist, your body pushed against the wall of the dark hallway.
„Don’t have to be quiet today,“ Dave hummed against your ear as he pushed your chest against the wall. You shoulder sagged in relief when you recognised his voice, only to tense when you felt his cock against your ass as one of his hands manhandled you in the position he wanted so he could sink into you.
You both moaned when he was inside of you, his head resting against the back of your head.
„I intend to fuck you on as many desks as possible before they realise I put the whole floor on lockdown,“ he whispered against your ear, before he began to move.

Deer's Xenofiction List - The Good, the Bad, and the Furry
Compilation of my xenofiction books I've read, my opinions on them, and ones that I've yet to get to. Will be updated as I go along, if I remember. Books I have not read have an asterisk (*) in front of them. Not a complete list, I will update as I gather more titles.
Adaptations will be listed along with the source material and not as a separate entry.
While I am accepting additions to the list, please make sure your suggestion isn't already listed.
Last Updated: 24-06-2024
-New additions to the books section
-Categories and sub-categories being considered: short films, animal transformation (human to animal).
-Content Warning: Mentions of sexual assault, animal abuse, animal death, and violence. Only a handful of entries have content warnings because they were given to me prior. Please look into the works beforehand to see if you feel comfortable engaging with them, this list is not a content warning guide.
Books
Warriors by Erin Hunter - A long-running series following the drama of four groups of feral cat groups in a forest.
Rating: sucks just read the first arc and nothing else. unless you have childhood nostalgia for this series you probably won't like anything that comes after.
Seekers by Erin Hunter - another animal series from the erin hunter team. It follows a group of bears searching for a safe place to live.
Rating: It's fine. I only read the first arc. While it has a much drearier tone than Warriors at times as it deals with growing environmental impact of global warming and human interference. If you like Erin Hunter's writing style, you might like this one.
*Survivors by Erin Hunter - Look we just gotta get these out of the way, these guys have a monopoly on kid's animal books. Survivors follows a dog named Lucky (yes. really) trying to survive in an area abandoned by humans.
Rating: I read the first book and nothing else. I'm sure it's...fine, suitable for a dog-obsessed young reader but as it is, no one's really rushed to recommend it to me. I'm sure it has fans somewhere, but I can't really speak for them.
*Bravelands by Erin Hunter - uuuhhh animals? in Africa? Surviving? I guess? Sorry my bias against Hunter is showing, but at some point you start to wonder what's going on here, you can feel them trying to recreate the success of Warriors.
Rating: idk what to tell you, never read it and probably never will. If you're a person who likes lion stories, you might enjoy this, maybe? Been told the hyena rep is appalling, another sad day for hyena lovers everywhere.
*Bamboo Kingdom by (you guessed it) Erin Hunter - It follows three pandas (apparently) each in different panda kingdoms.
Rating: I couldn't tell you shit about this one to be honest. You want more bears? Here's bears!
The Bees by Laline Paull - A novel following the life of Flora, a sanitation bee in her hive who rises through the ranks of her devout society.
Rating: Unfocused at times and a rushed ending, but a gripping story nonetheless. Would recommend!
Pod by Laline Paull - Follows the life of Eira, a spinner dolphin from an "exotic tribe" who is forcibly taken into another group of dolphin's to become a member of their leaders harem.
Rating: This book relies on the mythos of "dolphin rape" with numerous, non-graphic sexual assault scenes. While interesting concepts are introduced and, at times, the plot becomes compelling; it otherwise flounders its premise with messy execution and poorly thought out ideas. Also there's an American spy dolphin named Google, make of that what you will.
*The Wildlings and its sequel The Hundred Names of Darkness by Nilanjana Roy - A book about a small band of cats lives in the labyrinthine alleys and ruins of Nizamuddin, an old neighbourhood in Delhi.
Rating: Recommended multiple times to me by different people, no warnings given.
Varjak Paw (and sequels) by S. F. Said and illustrated by Dave Mckean - A short book about Varjak, a Mesopotamian Blue Cat, and his journey to learn an ancient art from his family’s past.
Rating: Varjak Paw is unique with striking imagery and interesting ideas. However, the writing in itself is far from anything special. The book it at its best when accompanied by Mckean’s striking visuals.
*The Underneath by Kathi Appelt - An abused dog hides under the porch of a home to escape from its owner. Based on a reply I've been given, do not ask me to expand anymore on the plot of this book, I have no goddamn clue.
Rating: Described as a formative book for reading xenofiction, it’s been recommended highly! Contains heavy topics such as animal abuse, be warned.
*Fire Bringer by David Clement-Davies - A novel following a red deer named Rannoch and a prophecy that looms over him.
Rating: It seems to have a decent fanbase and it's been recommended to me a handful of times.
*Bambi, a Life in the Woods by Felix Salten - A coming-of-age novel following a roe deer named Bambi. Best known from the 1942 Disney film.
Rating: If you're a deerhead, check it out I guess!
*Raptor Red by Robert T. Bakker - Often (favorably) compared to a textbook, Raptor Red follows a female Utahraptor. Written by a paleontologist, it's meant to be a realistic look at dinosaur's social habits and their interactions with their world.
Rating: Yet to read but sounds cool as fuck. This book contains a heavy emphasis on realism and world-building, with little dialogue. It may be slow for some readers!
Black Beauty by Anna Sewell - Horse girls, certain English classes, and so on, Black Beauty is fairly well-known. Though for those unaware, Black Beauty follows the titular Black Beauty's life in Victorian days.
Rating: It's a classic! Pulls at your heart strings! Just typing this out makes me want to reread it.
Watership Down by Richard Adams - Similar to Black Beauty, I can't imagine anyone reading this list doesn't know about the tale of a group of rabbit's trying to survive a harsh world.
Rating: It's well-written with a lively world, but its treatment of its female cast reveals a deep gendered bias in the writing.
*Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH by Robert. C. O'Brien - Mostly known from the (excellent) Don Bluth adaptation, the book follows Mrs. Frisby and he encounter with a group of highly intelligent rats.
Rating: Yet to read.
*Redwall by Brian Jacques - A 22 book series following a group of anthrophormic animals who live in Redwall Abbey and their call to action to defend themselves from "vermin".
Rating: Yet to read
Guardians of Ga'Hoole by Kathryn Lasky - A 31 book series following a group of owls and their attempts to thwart evil. The first arc follows Soren and his attempts to find the owls of Ga'Hoole and beat the 'Pure Ones' while the later books act as an epilogue and prequel.
Rating: First half read and loved! Highly recommend! Handling of Kludd is...meh.
Note: It has an animated film adaptation! While not entirely faithful, it still does a great job keeping to the themes of the books, trimming the fat, and telling a complete story. It also has two video games, one on DS and one on ah other consoles? Both are fun, I like the Wii version.
*(sorta?) Wings of Fire by Tui T. Sutherland - Most people reading this will know this one! It takes place in a world of dragons with seven tribes. The first arc follows the exploits of prophecized dragonets and their attempts to end a war.
Rating: I've yet to finish it. The writing is skewed for a younger audience but is charming nonetheless.
Note: It has a graphic novel adaptation illustrated by Mike Holmes.
*Duncton Wood (First book of the Duncton Chronicles) by William Horwood - A novel the three groups of moles in Duncton Woods and the tyranny of a powerful mole named Mandrake.
Rating: Not yet read, heard good things! lots of mole sex apparently.
The Plague Dogs by Richard Adams - After escaping an animal research facility, Snitter and Rowf escape out into the wild where they must survive a hostile world.
Rating: ough. my heart. would recommend.
Note: Well-known for its animated adaptation, would recommend it as well.
*Silverwing by Kenneth Oppel - The first in the Silverwing book series, Silverwing follows a bat named Shade who loses his colony during a migration to the south.
Rating: Yet to read but I've heard good things!
Note: Currently has an animated television adaptation, go check it out!
*A Black Fox Running by Brian Carter - The story follows the tale of a dark-furred fox named Wulfgar and his human nemesis, Scoble the trapper, over the course of time.
Rating: Yet to read.
*The Books of the Named/Ratha’s Creature (First book of the Ratha’s Creature series) by Clare’s Bell - Ratha’s Creature is set in prehistoric times following the story of Ratha, a Dinaelurus nimravid(?) and her role as a female in her Clan.
Yet to read, often recommended in the Xenofiction scene.
*The Taken (Book one of the Foxcraft trilogy) by Inbali Inserles - Follows the story of Isla, a fox kit who loses her home and family and must survive in the world of “furless” while mastering Foxcraft.
Recommended by @girlashfur
*Hurry Home, Candy by Meindert DeJong and illustrations by Maurice Sendak - Described as "heavy", Hurry Home, Candy follows the life and struggles of a dog named Candy.
Recommended by @mosshugs
Felidae (the first book in a nine book series) by Akif Pirinçci - A crime novel following Francis the cat as he tries to uncover the truth behind a series of murders in his new neighborhood.
Rating: I haven't read the novel and nor do I want to, but I did watch the adaptation. It's a grisly one but apart from the violent murders and striking imagery in the film, you're not missing much by skipping it. I can't really recommend this one for a variety of reasons.
Important: I can't stop you from reading the book or watching the animated adaptation, I watched the animated adaptation, but please do not financially support the author in any way. Pirinçci is a far-right dipshit and does not deserve support.
The Animals of Farthing Wood by Colin Dann - With eight books under its belt, The Animals of Farthing Wood originally started as one book about a group of woodland animals trying to find a new home after losing their old one to human development. It was followed by six sequels and one prequel.
Rating: Haven't read the books but I love the animated adaptation of it! I recommend checking out both.
*Ragweed (First book of the Dimwood book series) by Avi - A book about the adventures of a mouse seeing the world.
Recommended by @meanling
*A Dog's Life: An Autobiography of a Stray by Ann M. Martin - Written by the same author of the Babysitter's Club series, A Dog's Life chronicles the life of a dog named Squirrel.
Recommended by @meanling
*Scary Stories for Young Foxes by Christian McKay Heidicker and illustrations by Junyi Wu - Scary Stories for Young Foxes is a book consisting of several stories all told by a mother to her kits.
Recommended anonymously
*The Sight (and its sequel The Fell) by David Clement-Davies - Set in the same universe as Fire Bringer, The Sight follows a pack of wolves cursed by a lone wolf, Morgra, whose powers foretell the destiny of one of the mother wolf's pups: Larka, a white wolf gifted with a mysterious power known as The Sight.
Not yet read.
*Last of the Curlews by Fred Bodsworth - A realistic depiction of the journey of the last of a critically endangered and soon to be extinct bird.
Not yet read.
Note: Has an animated adaptation!
*Wish Tree by Katherine Applegate - From the same author as The One and Only Ivan! While this story includes animals, it's main character is an old oak tree named Red! The perspective is really interesting. She is both the neighborhood wish tree, and a home for many animals. A family of Muslim refugees move into the neighborhood, with the kid, Samar, becoming attached to the tree.
Not yet read.
*Pax by Sara Pennypacker - A war approaches and Peter must release his pet fox when his father enlists. The story alternates between Peter as he starts a journey to find his pet, and Pax who is learning to survive in the wild.
Not yet read.
*A Wolf Called Wander by Rosanne Perry - Inspired by the wolf 0R-7 (Journey), we follow Swift. After a rival wolf pack attacks, Swift's family scatters and must find a new home, taking an 1000 mile journey across the Pacific Northwest.
Not yet read.
*The Tygrine Cat by Inbali Iserles - Alone and lost, a young cat called Mati is struggling to be accepted by a colony of street cats in the bustling marketplace at Cressida Lock. What Mati doesn’t know is that he is the last of a vital, age-old breed and that a mysterious feline assassin named Mithos is close on his trail. With his enemy nearing, can Mati learn to harness his ancient powers — before a deadly feline force destroys both him and his newfound friends and takes the spirit of every cat on earth?
Not yet read.
Fifteen Dogs by André Alexis - The ancient Greek Gods make a bet and endow fifteen dogs from a shelter with human-level intelligence.
Rating: I can't say I loved this book but nonetheless I appreciated it's prose. If you can get past outdated pack dynamics and some...questionable writing around its female characters, there's a lot to appreciate. Mind you, this is a book for adults and does not shy away from sexual material.
Comics (Webcomics included)
Beasts of Burden written by Evan Dorkin and illustrated by Benjamin Dewey and Jill Thompson - The comics follow along the adventures of the ‘Beasts of Burden’ a group of animals who investigate paranormal happenings in their neighborhood.
Rating: With gorgeous art and an interesting world, I recommend! Just be warned, it is bloody and the sory doesn't hold your hand.
Note: Beasts of Burden currently has 21 comics published in Dark Horse Comics.
What Lurks Beneath by ArualMeow - A feral colony must grapple with a food shortage while simultaneously tussling with the divide between two groups of cats.
Rating - A highly compelling read. Each character plays a role in the unravelling drama of three siblings and you will walk away loving someone.
Note: Ongoing!
I Hope So by Detective Calico - A rewrite of My Pride turned into an original story, I Hope So follows the story of three lionesses navigating both the complicated politics of the lion prides but also the harsh environment they must survive in.
Rating: Slow to update but absolutely worth it! I Hope So is a charming and interesting read. It’s yet to finish but it’s far enough that you'll be able to invest yourself in the world and characters with no trouble!
Note: Ongoing!
Tofauti Sawa by TheCynicalHound - A revenge story that follows a spotted hyena named Sahara.
Rating: Tofauti Sawa is not here to endear you to its protagonists or hold your hand. It can be a tough read but a worthwhile one nonetheless. I need to catch up but I recommend it!
Note: Ongoing!
*Golden Shrike by Doeprince - A story about twin deer and their friends and their search to retrieve three fallen stars for a bored God.
Rating: Yet to read but I've heard good things!
Note: Ongoing!
*Doe of Deadwood by Songdog - It follows a deer who has a pact with a demon that takes the form of a tree. It has some heavy themes and light gore.
Recommended by @beeloaf
Note: Complete!
Jet and Harley by Doeprince - Described as a beautiful piece on grief and moving on, Jet and Harley stars a kitty cast and gorgeous artwork.
Rating: Recommended anonymously. It's still starting but it has some strong set up and charming writing going for it, I recommend keeping an eye on it!
Note: Ongoing!
Preeny Has to Repeat 6th Grade by momodriller - A love letter to adoptables and the creativity of young artists, this charming comic utilizes designs bought from adoptables on DeviantArt! It follows the story of Preeny, a young cat with a magic brush tail and what happens when her whole world turns upside down.
Rating: Beyond adorable, charming and sweet. There's a lot of love put into this webcomic and it shows! Highly recommend.
Note: Ongoing!
Africa by Arven92 - The story of a female leopard named Africa and her quest to protect her family and loved ones while her territory comes under threat.
Rating: Gorgeously drawn and with a story that twists, Africa pulls no punches in showing you the wickedness of its antagonists but also the enduring bond of a family.
Note: Ongoing!
*Oren's Forge by Teagan Gavet - A webcomic that explores the dynamics of predator and prey and what happens when those divisions fall in the story of a pair of pine martens and their journey for sanctuary.
Rating: Not yet read
Note: Ongoing!
*Pride of Baghdad written by Brian K. Vaughan and Niko Henrichon - A graphic novel falling the fictionalized account of the real life escape of four lions from the Baghdad Zoo after an American bombing in 2003.
Rating: Not yet read.
Content warning for graphic violence, gore, animal death, and a brief one panel depiction of sexual assault.
*I Didn't Know by Songdog - A comic about a cat exiled from her Church.
Rating: Not yet read.
Note: Ongoing
*Fox Fires by Pipilia - This ongoing Webtoon follows a Tanuki named Raate as she goes on a journey to find the missing "Fox Fires", a gate between the land of the dead and living. She encounters many friends such as birds who are messangers for elves, magic cats, and normal mean wolves.
Not yet read.
Note: Ongoing
Manga & Anime
*Silver Fang Gin and Ginga Densetsu Weed written and illustrated by Yoshihiro Takahashi - The original and the sequel respectively, the manga series follow Akita dogs, Gin and Weed. While Silver Fang focuses on Gin's search to fight the monstrous "Red Helmet", Weed follows the titular Weed and his search for his father.
Rating: I've not read this but upon getting recommended it, multiple people warned me about the misogyny in the series. Ye be warned. Additionally, the manga is (apparently) very gory!
Note: Both have anime adaptations. Weed's opening is a fucking banger go watch it at the very least.
Beastars (and Beast Complex by extension) written and illustrated by Paru Itagaki - In a world of anthromorphic animals, Beastars follows Legosi, a young wolf navigating his complicated feelings towards other species and learning more about his world.
Rating: Beastars is action-packed, fun, emotional, and dramatic! The first half is a compelling story of identity and how we interact with one another and the complex forces of society that drive our feelings, all wrapped up in a wonderous animal metaphor. As a coming-of-age story, it carries themes of desire, sexual desire, yearning, shame, and more. The second half is eeeeehhh not as strong, but I still recommend it nonetheless!
Note: Beastars currently has an anime adaptation by Studio Orange! It looks fantastic and has some really nice quality of life changes. Highly recommend.
Chi's Sweet Home written and illustrated by Konami Kanata - An adorable slice-of-life story following a cute kitten named Chi adapting to her new home.
Rating: It's just plain cute! If you're looking for something adorable to help you relax, I recommend this one. It's for a younger age demographic so don't go in expecting deep storylines or anything.
Note: Chi's Sweet Home has two adaptations: one with traditional 2D Japanese animation and two seasons and a 2016 3DCGI adaptation. I'd recommend the original adaptation but that's pure preference.
Nyankees written and illustrated by Atsushi Okada - A comedy manga that depicts street cats as brawling "yankees", drawing them as both cat and human to depict their brawls over food, territory, and ladies!
Rating: It's funny, I can't deny the humor in this one makes me chuckle. It's a little racy but otherwise, a fun, light-hearted read.
*A Cat's Tale written by Sae-Him Kwon and Hyeon-Jung Kim and illustrated by Kwon-Sam - A thrilling tale of murder and deception from the animals living on the Sae-Min's farm from the point of view of an elderly cat.
Rating: Yet to read, discovered on Anime-Planet's search system.
Monotone Blue written and illustrated by Nagabe - A story set in high school, it's a BL manga that follows Hachi the cat and Aoi the lizard.
Rating: Yet to read, but I adore the author's other works so I have high expectations!
*Neko to Ryuu written by Amara and illustrated by Sasaki Izumi- A cat raises a baby dragon as her own.
Rating: Yet to read but come on, that sounds adorable.
A Story of Seven Lives written and illustrated by Shirawaka Gin - A Story of Seven Lives follows Nanao, a former housecat turned street cat after a terrible tragedy.
Rating: It's a tearjerker and absolutely adorable. The artwork is lovely and all the cats' designs look fantastic. if you're interested in a simple drama about the relationship between cats and people, i would highly recommend it.
Note: There are human protagonists! If you want pure animal protagonists, maybe skip this one.
*The Walking Cat: A Cat's-Eye-View of the Zombie Apocalypse by Tomo Kitaoka - Zombies roam the earth and civilization as we know it is dead. When Jin—a young man trying to survive the chaos—rescues a cat from certain death, the unlikely duo sets off on a quest to find a mysterious island where Jin’s wife may be alive. Witness the zombie apocalypse through the eyes of a fearless feline whose curiosity may kill him yet.
Rating: Not yet read.
PLEASE READ: Due to its setting, this series has been given a handful of content warnings, please heed this warning before you read. Content warning for gore, death, sexual abuse, physical abuse.
Film
i'm not gonna put every disney or dreamworks film on here i'm sure a majority of us know that disney makes a lot of already popular animal films. if possible, i'd like to spotlight some films that weren't made by big studios and/or don't get a lot of attention. Further note, some of these are adaptations of children's books. I'm cheating a little here mainly because the adaptations are more well-known and probably more appealing for readers of this list than the original books. Uh, sorry.
The Brave Little Toaster directed by Jerry Rees - The film follows the adventures of sentient kitchen appliances and the search for their owner.
Rating: Aimed for a younger audience, it's an adorable viewing for all ages.
Isle of Dogs directed by Wes Anderson - In the year 2038, canine flu breaks out in a futuristic Japan and all dogs are sent to 'trash island' where they fight to survive. One day, a young Japanese boy crashes down on trash island to find his dog.
Rating: The stop-motion animation is gorgeous, the writing is fun and charming, and the visuals are amazing, however the film has rightfully garnered criticism for its stereotypical depiction of Japanese society and 'white savior' narrative around one of its human characters.
Chirin no Suzu (English Title: Ringing Bell/Chirin's Bell) directed by Masami Hata - On a farm, Chirin witnesses the death of his mother to a wolf. Distraught and filled with rage, Chirin vows to get revenge and trains to do so.
Rating: A fantastic and visually striking film, the film's cute aesthetics hide a sombre and darker story. Would recommend!
*Vuk (English Title: The Little Fox) directed by Atilla Dargay - A Hungarian animated film that follows the life of a fox and how he must use his wits to survive.
Rating: Not yet watched.
Arashi no Yoru Ni (English Title: One Stormy Night) directed by Gisaburō Sugii - On one stormy night, a sheep and a wolf take refuge from a storm in the same abandoned home and befriend each other...unaware of what species the other is until later. They strike an unusual friendship that's tested when their respective groups begin to clash.
Rating: Cute, sweet, and well-animated, One Stormy Night is well known for the romantic undertones of its two leads. I think it's adorable and highly recommend.
Note: It received another adaptation of the same source material, a 3D animated show where they made the sheep a girl. Do with that information what you will.
Leafy, A Hen into the Wild directed by Oh Sung-yoon - A farm chicken dreams of one day living a life in the wild and raising her own clutch of eggs and, after faking her death to escape, finally gets the opportunity to do so.
Rating: A gorgeous animated film with moments that will tug at your heart strings. It's got some kiddy jokes with poop and fart jokes but they're not too distracting. Would recommend!
Note: Please find a version with the ORIGINAL ending, not the censored one. It is more thematically fitting and one heck of a gut-punch.
Underdog/A Dog's Courage directed by Lee Chun-baek and Oh Sung-yoon - After being abandoned by his owners, a dog joins up with a pack of other dogs in search of 'paradise'.
Rating: Despite some poor pacing and wonky tonal problems, I think this movie is still worth checking out! The character designs are cute and it's decent entertainment if you've got some time.
Note: There's a post that says this movie is about dogs escaping to North Korea, it's not true. They escape from North Korea to South Korea.
Padak directed by Dae-Hee Lee - A dark and sometimes brutal film about a wild fish that ends up in a restaurant fish tank that overlooks the ocean. The film stays there and the audience is given a tense, nerve-wracking narrative of life and death.
Rating: A fantastic, emotional movie that uses its limited setting to its full advantage. It's brutal and unforgiving but one hundred percent worth the watch.
Khumba directed by Anthony Silverston - A film that follows a zebra with only half his stripes and his journey to gain the rest of them in hopes of being accepted by his herd.
Rating: It's fine, a little wonky but it has a lot of heart.
Earnest and Celestine directed by Stéphane Aubier, Vincent Patar and Benjamin Renner - A gorgeous 2D French animated film based on a series of children's films about a bear who takes in an orphan mouse in an anthropomorphic society that does not approve.
Rating: you're going to get cavities at how sweet this film is. Charming, funny, and visually stunning, you would be remiss if you didn't watch this wonderful film at least once.
The Land Before Time directed by Don Bluth - After tragedy strikes, young Apatosaurus must embark on a journey to find the Great Valley.
Rating: It's a classic! A bit cutesy and meanders at times, but still worth a watch.
Note: Pretty well known for the host of direct-to-DVD sequel movies it produced, a television series, and a video game.
Television (Online Productions Included)
My Pride directed by Maddi Patton - My Pride is an independent internet production that follows the tale of a disabled lion named Nothing trying to exist in her cruel society.
Rating: My Pride is clearly a work of passion, one can’t deny the creator clearly had a vision of what she wanted from this show. However, the execution is flawed and the handling of disability has been (rightfully) criticized. While the animators and voice actors have clearly put a lot of love and effort into the project, the writing falls short of what it could be.
Note: The series ends on a cliffhanger and has been discontinued. You have been warned.
My Little Pony (Generations 1-5) developed by Hasbro - If you like ponies, here you go! While G1 did have a human character, G3 to G5 are purely horsies. Each generation has a different story and main cast to follow.
Rating: Very obviously for a younger age demographic, the generations do have their own charm! G4 is popular for a reason with a sleek style, witty writing, and a lovely cast of characters.
Azurehowl and Azurehowl Reborn created by azurehowlshilach - Bet this one brings back nostalgia lol Azurehowl is set in a world where wolves have the magic of dragons! It centers around Ruuza who may be more special than she realizes.
Rating: i gotta rewatch this one to make my thoughts clear but i remember finding it charming. Azurehowl Reborn appears to be the remake/reboot of the original series.
Note: Ongoing!
Twelve by Petpyves - An original series about May and Imp, a duo who's jobs are to jump from body to body and guide them to a better end, results vary. It's a work of love and has some really strong concepts and writing, as well as doing its best to handle more mature subejcts with respect.
Rating: It's rough around the edges but nonetheless a great show to binge! I recommend it, though it's been a while since I watched it.
Note: Complete!
No Evil by Betsy Lee - In the land of myths and fables incarnate a group of spirits live their casual lives alongside humans, until a cataclysmic force thought to be dealt with shows once again in the world. A prequel series to the webcomic Brother Swan.
Rating: Not yet watched.
Note: Complete!
Burrow's End by Dimension 20 - A Dungeons & Dragons campaign following a group of stoats.
Rating: Not yet watched.
Note: Complete!
Video Games
Okami developed by Clover Studios - You play as the wolf Amaterasu on her journey to save the world from forces of darkness.
Rating: A classic for a reason. Fun to play, great story, lovely characters. Would recommend!
Stray developed by Bluetwelve Studios - In a walled city populated by robots, you play as a cat.
Rating: ending made me bawl. Gameplay is a bit clunky, the platforming is essentially hitting buttons to automatically jump to your destination instead of you jumping yourself. Otherwise, would recommend!
*Tokyo Jungle developed Crispy's! - Set in a deserted, furistic Tokyo, you can select from a wide array of animals to play as and survive.
Rating: never played but maaan do I want to.
*Spirit of the North developed by Infuse Studio- You play as an ordinary red fox whose story becomes entwined with the guardian of the Northern Lights, a female spirit fox.
Rating: Yet to play.
Untitled Goose Game developed by House House - honk
Rating: honk
*Copoka developed by Inaccurate Interactive - You play as a pigeon trying to build a nest in a totalitarian state.
Rating: Yet to play.
*Seasons After Fall developed by Swing Swing Submarine - 2D platformer where you play as a fox in a magical land.
Rating: Yet to play.
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon developed by Spike Chunsoft - A rogue-like RPG in which you take the form as a human turned Pokemon and must navigate your world. There are currently seven games to choose from, each with a unique world and story.
Rating: I love PMD, I'm putting it here because I'm biased. I love it a lot and it fits the criteria so here you go!
Cattails & *Cattails: Wildwood Story developed by Falcon Development - With the creator known for their WC fan game, Untold Tales, Cattails branched out from the bones of the fan game and became an original game of it's own! In this RPG, you play as a cat where you can hunt, fight, find love, and solve puzzles. Wildwood expands on the base mechanics, adding in farming, characters, and more!
Rating: I found the first Cattails to be cute and simple. It's not an intensive RPG, the mechanics become repetitive after a while. If you're someone who likes getting into the rhythm of a grindy rpg, you'll like this one. Not yet played Wildwood but I've heard it's great!
Rain World developed by Videocult - You play as a nomadic slugcat in a brutal world with only your wits, agility, and strength to survive. Eat, hunt, flee, and hibernate while finding out the secrets of your world.
Rating: Okay. this game is HARD. Like unfair hard. Imprecise controls, brutal difficulty, and sometimes really unfair save points - this one is tough. However, it is gorgeous and it's really fun seeing all the beautiful environments the creators came up with. Enemies are also incredibly complex, reacting to each other and you in different ways. It's an acquired taste, while it wasn't for me personally, I would recommend giving it a try at the very least.
Miscellaneous
Additions that aren't necessarily xenofiction but pertain to it in some way.
Cheek by Jowl: Animals in Children's Literature by Ursula K. Le Guin -A fantastic essay that explores the role of the animal in children's literature from its role as something to reflect human society, or how it teaches children about animals. Furthermore, it explores the ways in which xenofiction can intentionally or unintentionally reinforce human bigotry through what we deem the "natural" order of the world.
Rating: Please read if you're interested in xenofiction! A fantastic essay that kicks you off thinking critically about what xenofiction has to say. The essay has a striking section on Watership Down that I highly recommend reading.
Cardinal West (YouTube) - A YouTube channel that discusses xenofiction. Videos that I recommend to start with are:
How (Not) to Write Xenofiction: A Literary Autopsy of “One for Sorrow, Two for Joy” by Clive Woodall (CW for discussions of sexual assault)
How Adapting The Fox and the Hound Changed Animation
#NotNOT A COMPLETE LIST!! i'm still updating it!1#but i'd like to post it now so others can add#deers xenofiction list

What we can Learn from Dave the Octopus

Theme 2: Villains (part two lol)
I was doing a rewatch of Penguins of Madagascar (the movie lol) the other day and thought, you know, there's a lot of relevant themes in this movie that can be applied to today's social issues. (Not all of these apply to Dave's character but a good amount of them do.)
The Dangers of Scapegoating
This is a big theme in the movie. The main premise for Dave, the antagonist, is seeking revenge on penguins (especially the Penguins) for his hardships. Instead of learning to embrace himself for who he is and/or working to change the system that worked against him, Dave instead blamed and targeted penguins. When he recounts his story, it is never penguins that sent him from zoo to zoo, but humans. You can see he directed all of his frustrations with societal cuteness standards (if you will lol) onto penguins. And once he thought he had defeated the Penguins, he simply wanted more "revenge" (by finding another scapegoat "puppies, kittens, pandas").
None of this solved his actual problem: the way society perceived him. It only caused harm to another group (penguins). As we have seen in past years, it is very common for groups to be scapegoated, or blamed, for tragedies they did not directly cause or play a role in. When this happens, the actual problem isn't solved, but instead it causes more division and perpetuates more harm. Realistically, it's easier to point the finger at one group (who are in fact innocent) than to fix overall problems. Thus, scapegoating is common but does not contribute to problem-solving. His goal was never to fix the problem but make others feel his pain.
The Harm of Stereotypes/Generalizations
Perhaps the most prevalent motif throughout the film is the perception of penguins as simply "cute and cuddly". In the very first scene, the Penguins are described as "helpless baby penguins" by a documentary crew. A young Skipper aims to challenge this perception by breaking away from the status quo of ONLY being cute and cuddly by "rejecting nature" and saving baby Private.
We can see this perception of penguins being helpless when they meet the North Wind. Corporal, though well-meaning, sweeps the Penguins up in a hug, even though Private is the only one that actually seems to be enjoying a hug. Thus, he makes the assumption that all penguins would be cuddly. Classified, in anger, calls the penguins "pathetic" which immediately gets a response from Skipper.
HOWEVER, Skipper seems to internalize this stereotype about penguins as he, in turn, underestimates Private's abilities. As the movie progresses, you can see that he does this more so out of brotherly/fatherly concern for Private. Still, he ends up placing internalized stereotypes onto Private, which he himself had fought (and continued to fight throughout the movie). He also expresses these feelings of perceived inferiority through his constant challenging of Classified.
Even Dave, at the beginning of his story, tried to fight the stereotype that octopi were "unlovable". Yet after being placed into this category, after being rejected so many times, he became a self-fulfilling prophecy and became vindicative.
In real life, women often face a similar struggle of being underestimated or viewed as overall less competent than their male counterparts. It is more common for women to be taken less seriously than men simply due to stereotypes. Many women can relate to the Penguins' struggle in this movie: being seen as less competent despite being very well-equipped to solve an issue they have experience in.
Autonomy of Marginalized Communities
I'll go more into this in the next section, but a major problem with the North Wind's plan in this movie is their overstepping of the Penguins in their shared goal. Once the Penguins learn that Dave is targeting ALL penguins, not just them, they immediately are focused on finding a way to defeat Dave.
But they are "kicked off the mission" by Classified, who tries to send them to a "safe house" in Madagascar. Their autonomy in this situation is taken away, which leads the Penguins to come up with their own plan in Shangai. It also contributes to the tension and conflict between the groups.
Since this mission impacted the Penguins directly, as they are penguins, they were more passionate about this situation. Private notes this when Classified leaves to "regroup". If Private would have listened to Classified and "regrouped", the penguins (including Skipper, Kowalski, and Rico) could have been captured by the exterminators before they returned to help.
In real life, when marginalized communities' autonomy is not respected or valued, it can lead to things like gentrification (which actually causes harm by raising property taxes to where the original residents cannot afford it).
Savior Complex vs. Actual Allyship
Despite not being penguins themselves (and being all larger/omnivorous animals), the North Wind sees themselves as the "professionals" or experts when it comes to saving the penguins (and any other "animals who can't help themselves"). Instead of listening to the Penguins or collaborating with them, Classified dismisses them. This leaves the North Wind with many blind spots in their perception of penguins and the actual nature of the problem they are aiming to solve (protecting penguins/stopping Dave).
In real life, there are already many organizations run by members of marginalized communities. When people outside of these groups try to start helping, without respecting the thoughts, opinions, or needs of members of these groups, this often does not turn out to be helpful and can even be harmful in some instances (ex. Autism Speaks who have historically been known to have very few Autistic members of their board). Without actively collaborating with members of marginalized communities, there is a danger of speaking over them. This can make the situation worse, rather than helping.
Sometimes amplifying voices or simply listening is the best form of allyship.
BUT when Classified listens to Private and does things "the penguin way", they all complete the mission successfully. Even then, they do not save the penguins but work with the penguins, who are saving themselves.
What are you thoughts on the lessons from this movie?
(Should I do a video essay on this? XD)
