The fact that the Boston transit system has been a garbage fire for so long that our mascot is a sad little man who is literally stranded on the train until the end of time due to a fare increase. Charlie's desiccated corpse has been riding this train since the 1940s and everyone just sort of rolls with it it this point

The night before Andrew’s first pro game, he receives a box from a company he is intimately familiar with. Pretty pink calligraphy branding the pristine white box with Allison’s fashion logo. It’s a rather large box, and Andrew is expecting the worst, like bright pink pompoms, but when he opens it, there are several neatly folded piles of silky material—armbands.
The first pair in each bundle is a simple black, but as he goes through them, he finds the colors changing, colors matching his new uniforms, colors Andrew would never usually wear but was informed he’d have to during specific months of the year.
At the bottom of the box lay three pairs with a note labeling them “custom.” The first pair was all black, except for a small dagger on the insides of both wrists. The second set is similar in color, except when they catch the light, subtle color shines through. A stupid rainbow. The last set Andrew knows Neil must have had something to do with as they are bright orange and white, tiny little fox paws on the insides of both wrist.
There are two of each pair, thirty pairs total. At the bottom of the box is a note branded with Allison’s logo but also a tiny kangaroo, one that is also branded just above the elbow on every sleeve.
“First look at the new sports line. I call this one Rew.”
Andrew hates her, but he plays his first game, ensuring Allison’s logo is always visible.

i love fallout 4 with my whole heart but it's so fucking funny to me that the only fallout game with romancable companions is the one where your character not only has a cannonical spouse, but said cannonical dead spouse was murdered right in front of them like (form their perspective) extremely recently.

vaguely inspired by something my boss said the other day (and also by that tiktok audio that went viral)
Eddie walks into the kitchen just in time to see Steve setting his phone down and looking utterly perplexed.
"What?" he asks, not sure what to expect.
“Uh, so we’re going into Boston tomorrow because Moe is running in the goddamn Boston Marathon, apparently.”
Eddie feels his jaw drop.
"What the fuck?"
"Don't even get me started, Ed. I guess some idiot she works with was making comments about it and she took it as a challenge."
"Jesus Christ. We really lucked out that she's not evil or something because we'd all be in trouble."
"I know, right?" Steve replies, shaking his head.
“What’s the big deal about the Boston Marathon?” Hazel asks from the kitchen counter, “Is it, like, longer than other marathons?”
Steve's eyebrows fly up as he looks at their youngest daughter.
“What, Hazel — all marathons are the same length.”
Hazel blinks.
“Right.”
“It’s harder than a lot of other marathons though,” Steve continues, “There’s a lot of hills and it’s not easy to qualify for, which — I didn't even know Moe ran, never mind ran marathons."
“She never tells us stuff," Hazel comments, "Why does she never tell us stuff?"
“Your sister’s kind of a machine, Haze,” Eddie tells her, “Does your computer give you a month’s notice when it needs an update?”
"No."
"Well, there you go."
