I would like to remind everyone getting all fussy about the "dirt under your fingernails" line from Vi is that psychologically, the meaning of the phrase "dirt under your fingernails" means "staying grounded, humble, and connected, to keep one's head out of the clouds, always keep one's feet on the ground, never get too caught up in one's self, spend some time on the front line."

By saying "nothings gonna clean me out" she means that she's going to stay connected to Caitlyn, this is basically a love confession from Vi. And its a line that fits Vi's character really well considering that for the entire show she's spent her time being caught up in herself, questioning the decisions she makes and her relationship with others (namely Jinx and Caitlyn). she's finally grounding herself, and I find that extremely poetic.

My interpretation: The heroine of the piece is on a journey to try and help her friend/partner, who is represented by the woman hanging from her wrists. Her friend is in real trouble, and the heroine is desperate to help her. But it's a real struggle to get there, and the heroine feels like she is being judged every step of the way. This scene could be all in her head or only partly. It's impossible to say.

The entire song of Champagne problems has always stunned and infatuated my mind because Taylor found a way to perfectly capture the feeling and emotional reaction when you’ve finally released that you’re the “villain” in someone’s life. Especially when that someone held you to the highest pedestal known to man and now that person is forever let down by you. Their heart was glass, a glass so fragile and gentle bc u made that person feel special but now that you’ve dropped it their distant, cold, and sorrowful even at the slightest mention of you. I made a joke well it’s made for me now means we shared laughter together, but now your jokes consist of the pain I caused to your now wretched heart. She would’ve made such a lovely bride what a shame she’s fucked in the head will always remind me of how every bad person was once good and how they’re own experiences, trauma, and self doubt caused them to be and feel afraid to love. In my opinion however, the most painful lyric is she’ll patch up your tapestry that I shred bc it metaphorically paints a beautiful picture of how someone’s entire existence can be affected by one person and how if that one person leaves they will feel as if their life and who they are will never be the same, no ounce of happiness and love can exist in their life without that person until a new lover comes in their life and saves them. Saves them and their heart like a hero and doesn’t break their heart like the villain.

People hate on Mask by Dream all the time. Whether it's because it's "cringe", or you don't like Dream as a YouTuber, perhaps even a person. But I'm here to explain why it means more than you think.

Firstly, Dream isn't even that bad at singing. He's not the most broadway-ready person ever, but he's better than most of the people reading this right now. Including me lol.

Secondly, as a burntout and depressed Gifted, possibly autistic kid, I use the masking technique a lot. For those of you who don't know, masking is a strategy used by many neurodivergent individuals, and others as well, of course, where one puts a "mask" over their personality and opinions to protect themselves, or conform to society's expectations.

Mask is quite obviously about the mask Dream used to wear to hide his face, but I assume has a deeper meaning similar to masking.

I use masking very, very often, and as someone who hates their home and family life, I can rarely take the metaphorical mask off. In fact, there are only a selection of friends and times I unmask in, mostly at 2am when I'm not thinking straight, and with my two therapist besties.

This song means so much to me and has such a deeper meaning then lots of people realise.

So. Think what you want, but some opinions can stay in your heads. And I don't care if it's cringe, because this is the most relatble song for me to date.
