Sometimes I'm fine. The rest of the times I think about Detachment (2011)

I would recommend watching this movie but it'd be like telling y'all to jump off a cliff.

It depicts the pain of merely existing in this fucked up world in the rawest way possible. The reality of our flawed educational system is portrayed exceptionally well. When you're done, you'll realize that simply being a student and going to school is a canon event in and of itself. The cinematography is hauntingly beautiful and it'll leave a mark.

I watched detachment last week and I can confirm I will never be the same again idk why it's so underrated

I recommend everyone should watch but it has like every trigger warning that could ever exist so do be careful

Anyway, watch Detachment and Dead Poets Soceity, but definitely not all in the same week

Our young men, today, are being told that women are whores. Bitches. Things to be screwed. Beaten. Shit on. Shamed.

This is a marketing holocaust. Twenty-four hours a day for the rest of our lives, “the power that be” are hard at work dumbing us to death.

So, to defend ourselves and fight against assimilating this dullness into our thought processes, we must learn to read. To stimulate our own imagination. To cultivate our own consciousness. Our own belief systems.

One must wonder how Yuding Zhenren feels during the events of Lotus Lantern...
