First of all congrats on nearing the end of your PhD program!!! Woohoo!!!
Second of all, I’m muy late to the party here (been off tumblr for a bit) but WRT these tags ( https://www.tumblr.com/anghraine/749212904253947904/khazzman-tolkien-elendil-was-called-the ) what do you mean the pregnancies were strange lol how strange can they be…?
As for the first point: Thank you! I'm really looking forwards to being done, lol.
As for the second point: anon, I delight in your innocence. In fact, I delight to such an extent that I wrote a long and rambling explanation over on my Dreamwidth account. It's here.

whats one thing you took away from being in the hazbin hotel fandom that you think is particularly important?
Why pilots are typically internal works that are released to the public at least a full season into the finalized version of a show (if they ever get released at all).

Do u think becoming child labourers at elementary school/middle school ages stunted the growth of nct dream members. Like is there a universe where mark is a 5'11 business major who just graduated from u of t? Or where jaemin is a 6 foot tall surgeon or something? Much to think about. I have a project due in 15 hours that i haven't started btw

"Blood, Sweat, Tears and Smiles"
A familiar face and voice welcomes the little one in this beautiful world. The birth of a child is another step towards a lifelong journey of motherhood and welcoming of a new life.
On a really hot Monday afternoon, September 2, 2024 , we have the opportunity to interview and have a sneak peak on the life of Blessie, a mother of an infant, about her life long journey of being a mother to 2 beautiful children and a happily married wife.
Blessie’s youngest baby, Keonna, had a rocky and overwhelming start on this world. After she was born, she was in and out of hospital for nearly a month due to blood infection, cough and runny nose. “Lisod ug hadlok kay sulod gawas siya sa hospital tas akoang lawas garecover pa gikan panganak kay gi cesarian ko” Blessie shared. Thankfully after multiple vaccines and medicines, the brave little Keonna recovered, discharged and was ready to go home. For the last 8 months, Keonna fully recovered and grew, receiving love from her mother, father, older sister, family members and friends, and neighbors. When asked about the development and skills of her baby, “ Kabalo na siya mag close open sa iyahang kamot ug kabalo na siya muligid ug kamang” Blessie replied with a proud look on her face, looking at her little Keonna at the floor crawling and enjoying the company of her neighbors.
When it comes to Keonna’s cognitive and socioemotional development, Blessie notices that Keonna is curious and interested about the things around her. “Masigi siyag lingi lingi sa palibot, ug tawagon siya mura pug siyag naminaw. Ganahan pud ni siya mutan aw sa kanang mga dulaan na nagbitay bitay iyahang tan-awon tas kab-oton” Blessie stated sweetly. “Muila pud ni si Keonna kay ug dili familiar ang nawong na iyahang makita kay muhilak siya” Blessie added as she watches Keonna crying while being held by one of her neighbors. Baby Keonna’s cognitive and socioemotional development such as her recognition and thinking skills can be observed when it comes to her interaction with unfamiliar and familiar faces, her actions towards toys, and towards the people calling her name. It is also noticeable that Keonna does not cry when being held by people she often sees and recognizes. In terms of Keonna’s physical development, Blessie stated that Keonna’s weight and body is normal for her month.” It is noticeable that baby Keonna is well fed and is receiving enough nutrients through drinking formula milk. Keonna easily cries and becomes irritated due to her teeth growing and hot weather yet overall Keonna is a healthy and cute little baby.
Blessie faces challenges throughout her journey in motherhood as well as being a wife yet she manages it with grace, strength, determination and love. “Naa guy times na lisod kay kailangan man namo palitan ug gatas ug mga needs si Keonna. Ga eskwela pud iyahang ate ug highschool mao daghan ug gasto. Dako sila ug gap, 13 years ilahang gap ni Keonna ug iyahang ate” Blessie shared. “Pero mamanage man pud kay todo supporta ug ga provide pud akoang bana mao makaya ra mao gapasalamat pud ko. Akoa pud magulang na anak kay siya na muatiman sa iyahang sarili pag mu eskwela” Blessie added as she smiles and faces the challenges with bravery and gratefulness.
Despite her share of struggles and challenges in life, she manages to balance it. “Lisod gud pero kayanon para nila, akoa nalang ikatulog ug hilak kung kapoy na kaayo. Dako pud katabang akoa Bana kay siya may mulihok ug sakit akoang tahi, likod ug akoang lawas. Naa guy times na kapoy na kaayo ko kay kulang tulog”  Blessie shared with a hint of sadness and tears in her eyes. .
Even with those struggles and challenges of being a mother especially having an infant, Blessie was full of joy and love towards her family. The strength, gratefulness, and God-fearing attitudes of Blessie enlightens their home, giving it a warm feeling of love, laughter and togetherness. She is always positive and excited about the future development of her children.
“Akong wish lang gud sa ilaha na mudako sila na maka-diyos ug good health pirmente ug malipayon sila” Blessie wishes from the bottom of her motherly heart towards her children. “ Bahala nag walay akoa basta mahatag nako tanan sa ilaha mahappy na pud ko” Blessie stated. A sentence that can stand against all the challenges and storms in life, showcasing the sacrifices, strength, happiness and never ending love of a mother.

"Embracing the Journey: A Pregnant Woman's Path to Motherhood"
“Every day is a struggle," said a pregnant woman in an interview with psychology majors from Davao. The interview was conducted by Althea Quirante and her partner Shanine Claiza Dadong at Ilustre Street, Davao City. The future mother named "Jiene," living her life for 29 years on this earth, is in her 6th month of pregnancy. Jiene is a pastor in one of the local churches in Davao, a loving wife, a caring sister, and one of the positive people that was met by the interviewer. Her journey in pregnancy is both a blessing and a struggle.
Pregnancy's Effect on the Mother's Physical, Cognitive, and Socioemotional Aspect
At first, Jiene shared her experiences on her first pregnancy, wherein she had a miscarriage. During her first pregnancy, she experienced frustration, light aggression, and sickness. These are commonly experienced by pregnant women, which is why patience is needed in dealing with and taking care of them. Jiene carried the fetus for more than a month, but sadly, she lost the baby in March and was told by her specialist to rest and refrain from pregnancy for 3 months. However, in May 2024, she noticed signs of pregnancy but was not convinced and repeatedly told herself that she couldn't be pregnant because the specialist told her so. But then she took a test, went for a checkup, and confirmed, "Jiene is pregnant." Isn't that a miracle?
In the first month of her second pregnancy, she experienced nausea, saliva, or liquid vomiting and didn't want the smell of rice and detergents. She said that it was not just a morning sickness but an "all day" sickness since she experienced it any time of the day. She also said that she was on a diet of veggies for 3 days but then craved fast foods and even soft drinks. Another physical change that Jiene experienced during her pregnancy was her weight, from 44 kilograms to 53 kilograms. She also experienced back pains way more and easily got tired of getting groceries and walking, compared to her strength and body before, when she wasn't pregnant. The interviewer also asked her if she had a hard time with transportation or commuting, and surprisingly, Jiene experienced a kind of worry due to bumpy rides when she commuted by jeepney compared to a tricycle, taxi, or bike, even though she was advised not to take on a bike. Jumping up on her mood and emotions, she said that there are times when she wants something in a "certain time" and easily gets frustrated. Such as looking for her brother and wanting him to get home at a certain time and adding that she gets stressed because of it. She also added that most of the time she would look for her husband if he's in town, but feels chill and okay when he's out of town. Which was found by the interviewer as "unusual." Jiene said that it's really hard to control yourself during pregnancy, and there may be times that you cannot control yourself, and for her, she said that "if wala, wala jud" (referring to her cravings and wants). Not forcing and just letting things be that way. Also, during her pregnancy, she regularly gets checkups and is given "pampakapit" by the doctor to make sure that the baby is safe and secure and that Jiene will not experience a miscarriage again.
Jiene, as a future mom, wanted to hear the heartbeat of her baby, saying, "Dapat makadungog jud kog heartbeat." By listening and watching her convey her thoughts and feelings, the interviewer felt a heartwarming feeling seeing the woman talk about hearing the heartbeat of her child. Jiene added that she also talks to her baby, and the baby would just kick the bump from the inside. Her experiences during June and July were hard for her, but she encouraged herself positively with the words "mahuman lang jud ni." Pregnancy is not easy at all, the pregnant woman "Jiene" added about her preparation or if she is ready in all aspects, such as physical, mental, and financial, that "you will never know when you will be ready." Jiene may want to be a mother, but she said that when you get into the stage of pregnancy, you will be surprised and be like, "Oh, some pregnant women were like this and like that, but I wasn't like that on my pregnancy." You will never know when you will be ready, but when you get there, you will have to adjust and balance such things.
A Healthy Mindset
Jiene added that she was grateful to God for being a pregnant woman, or a "mom." She repeatedly said that it was all in your mindset. Some things may happen and come into your life, and it is very important to be mindful of your decisions, not just in pregnancy and as a future mom but in all aspects. Balance your thoughts and emotions. She also said that it's better to have more knowledge and not just experience because when you get in a certain situation and you already have an idea of how to handle it, you will get through it healthily.
Hopes and Plans for the Future
Jiene was asked about her hopes for her child in the future, and she said that she wants to be a hands-on mother. She also wants to breastfeed her child since it's the best and most healthy for a baby. Staying at home or working at home is one of her plans once the baby comes out, as being hands-on in leading and nurturing your child's development is very important. She added that she wants to look after and be there in the early stages of her child. Jiene wants what's best for her child, similar to most of the mothers on earth.

Conclusions from the Writer/Interviewer:
What amazed me as an interviewer was seeing a pregnant woman casually conveying her thoughts and feelings to us. One thing that hit me is when she said generally that "you can't depend everything on someone." Knowing that each of us has individual battles and we must not be just a burden but more on being a blessing to others. I am so blessed to have met her in person and had a little chitchat; not only did I learn and know her experience with her pregnancy, but I also gained insight that would help me to grow as a person. Developmental psychology brought me to learn more about human physical, cognitive, and social development. All I can say is that I am so blessed and favored.

He sounded interested and even concerned. I thought he had been touched by what the doctor and advocates in the meeting had just shared about their journey with their patients and their own family members. But I was wrong.
“Those people . . . ” Donald said, trailing off. “The shape they’re in, all the expenses, maybe those kinds of people should just die.”
I truly did not know what to say. He was talking about expenses. We were talking about human lives. For Donald, I think it really was about the expenses, even though we were there to talk about efficiencies, smarter investments, and human dignity.
I turned and walked away
[from later in the article]
Donald took a second as if he was thinking about the whole situation.
“I don’t know,” he finally said, letting out a sigh. “He doesn’t recognize you. Maybe you should just let him die and move down to Florida.”
Wait! What did he just say? That my son doesn’t recognize me? That I should just let him die?
Did he really just say that? That I should let my son die . . . so I could move down to Florida?
Really?
[...]
Maybe I shouldn’t have been surprised to hear Donald say that. It wasn’t far off from what he’d said that day in the Oval Office after our meeting with the advocates. Only that time, it was other people’s children who should die. This time, it was my son.
When you’re legitimately so evil you tell a parent, your own fucking nephew, to their face that it’d be more cost-effective to let their child die because they are disabled.
Honestly, it's not the ableism or eugenics that shocks me. Donald Trump has shown who he is time and time again. I guess what got me was that he’d be willing to hold the same views for family members.
Usually these types of people make exceptions for their own. “It’s not immoral if it’s my abortion, I’m only doing this because I have no choice, mine is necessary” kind of thing.
But nope. Donald just straight up thinks his great nephew should die because it’s expensive to keep him alive.
Jesus Wept.
Fucking vote. Please, I’m begging you. As a disabled immigrant who isn’t able to vote I see so many people saying they’re going to boycott the election by not voting and I want to scream.
You boycott products by withholding money.
Not voting in elections only disenfranchises yourself. You’re not protesting. You’re giving tyrants power.
Please vote like people’s lives depend on it because they do.
If you need help figuring out how to register I will help you but please. Please vote.

Who is the main gaslighter/ manipulater in your life
What are they targeting about you
Hey guys , hope yall are doing well , as the Saturn retrograde goes may it break all your foes . Take a deep breath and choose with your intuition , if you like the reading consider a reblog , feedback or booking as it really helps me kiss kiss
Tumblr media
Pile 1 :
Who is the main gaslighter/ manipulater in your life
Social media babe you're following a con and taking relationship advice from a novice , it's led you with false notions you will need some time to break free but recognise and realise it before it's too late , also a friend, their name maybe from n or t might have long shiny hair and talk too sweet almost devilish , they're manipulating you into doing them favours I would ask you to be beware as you're gonna be feeling disintegrated , I feel something like destiny swapping is happening here like copying you a lot or your gestures as well you're too innocent love wake up please .
What are they targeting about you
You want a guide in your life so you followed the influencer but you can find better guides I'm sure and if you resonate with the friend part they're targeting your forgiving nature they think they can easily take from you what makes you unique and then you won't bat an eye is pathetic like I also get something about a black dress have they borrowed something if yes ask them to return asap.
Tumblr media
Pile 2 :
Who is the main gaslighter/ manipulater in your life?
A religious person or an authority figure , they're so homophobic or orthodox it's making you question yourself . This person might be a teacher as well , there's so much if your potential but they're forcing you to do something that's so limiting it's almost like you wasting your own potential ik it sucks , it could also be a sibling who are projecting their burn out in their life onto you .
What are they targeting about you
They're targeting your lack of clarity in your life they think you don't know who you are so they hit you in the nail , your developmental years were spent with them so you're attached to them in a way you think they know you so much but remember you know yourself the best.
Tumblr media
Pile 3 :
Who is the main gaslighter/ manipulater in your life ?
It's your dusty ass boyfriend or crush or situationship, they also wanna be treated like a princess and are cheap and stingy , idk why you're with them tbh look at you 😭 people would kill for you , idk it also feels as if they're belittling your values or culture like someone wants to get straight hair because they feel they'll look prettier to their bf
What are they targeting about you ?
Worst of all they're targeting your love towards them they target your lack of identity and try to fill spaces in your self discovery journey , as lonely as the journey maybe it is solely yours so if they don't understand they must go alright love.

Thank you for reading love love 💗

Dear dream girl, I really want to be my dream girl but I don’t know where to start. I feel unmotivated most of the time and I only get a burst of motivation at like 3 am. I just what to glow and radiate good energy for myself and find/do what I like
Oh, So You Wanna Be a Dream Girl? 🎀
starting your dream girl journey
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Congrats on choosing yourself and your tiara; I am so proud. Prepare to not be liked, to be judged, and to stand out. It’s lonely at the top.
*this guide is for starting the process, not reaching the end result because my version of my own dream girl is inevitably different than yours. bare in mind i’m not holding your hand. i’m nudging you in a good direction.
what is a dream girl?
a dream girl is a girl that has finally fallen in love with who she sees in the mirror. she’s the girl that she can depend on. she has her desired look and she’s on the path to self actualization actively. she’s aware of her branding. she holds herself to the standards she holds other to; and they are HIGH. her self worth isn’t contingent upon a love interest, amount of money, or social status. she’s simply that girl.
do some healing.
yes, i said it. healing. like i’ve said before, you cannot put glitter on literal garbage. that’s not even the slightest bit appealing. you’re gonna journal about your childhood, your biggest influences in life, your biggest fears and how you feel life has treated you. this calls for shadow work. shadow working really helped me figure out some of my toxic traits and how some of the things that were considered normal to me as a child have affected me in the long run. you’re also gonna write hypothetical letters to your loved (and not-so-loved) ones, including yourself. let it all out. say everything you want that person to know. around you or not, dead or alive. prepare to clam up, cry, get angry, feel anxious. good. you should. you feel clammy, hot and sometimes pain when your body is fighting off and healing from a physical sickness. now you’re dealing with the developmental, mental, and emotional parts. you’re doing yourself a disservice choosing to stay the same toxic, nasty, mean, or victimized person you’ve always been.
what do you want?
before you can start to even do the smallest improvements, you have to have a clear goal. or else you’ll just be running around in circles (heh) over grandiose blurry wishful thinking. ultimately resulting in you giving up and choosing to be basic bc it’s easier. what do you want out of life? how do you want to be treated? what do you want to do? what makes you happy? and most importantly, how do you want to feel? see, it’s more than just the frills and glitter. you have to know what you’re trying to get to, internally and externally.
Tumblr media
grab a diary, adorn it with pretty little details and commit to it. pair it with your fav writing utensil. outline all of your goals. every single last one of them. you can categorize them, scale them from short to long term, easy to hard. it doesn’t matter. do absolutely what you want to do to make a concrete record of your goals that’s digestible for you.
what are you going to do?
Tumblr media
*fabulosity by kimora lee simmons*
compare your dream reality to the one you’re currently experiencing. what is she doing that you aren’t? that’s it. do that. anyone can read blogs about the process and other people success stories but those posts aren’t gonna change your life unless you get up and go for what you want. i don’t know what exactly you desire out of life. you do. so you have the instructions for this journey. the first part was easy, this is simple but not nearly as effortless. it’s up to you and not anyone else. you teach others how to treat you. improvements you can make include better: hygiene, self talk/treatment, outward energy, work ethic, discipline, health, consumed content, relationships, looks, habits.
the work
it’s time to apply yourself. get up everyday and actively work towards your goal. be kind to yourself. take yourself to the doctors. get active. eat right. find your passion. DO THE HEALING.
everyone’s journey is SO different so i’m just going to do a quick rundown of the importance of each of the ten facets of your dream girl journey (that build upon each other. ie; looks do not benefit you when your hygiene is insufficient):
*these facets are loosely based on maslow’s hierarchy of needs
Tumblr media
health - are you taking care of yourself? please treat yourself how you would your loved ones. you’ll be surprised how physical issues manifest mentally, and vice versa. get adequate sleep. take baby steps if need be. some of these adjustments may be huge to you. be gracious with your journey.
consumed content - everything you engage in is your diet. the company you keep, food you eat, music you enjoy. you get the idea. do you feel light and ready to take on the day? or do you feel drained and sick more often than not. make some adjustments wherever you see necessary.
hygiene - extremely important. stick to a routine for your hygienic needs. you should have rituals you engage in everyday. don’t forget that your health and hygiene go hand in hand. oral and feminine hygiene is so crazily important. please don’t neglect yourself. i talk about my routines in detail here.
habits - daily habits are so crucial to your lifestyle. adjust these and consciously break your bad habits by supplementing your life with equal and opposite habits.
self talk/treatment - simple. be kind to yourself. hold yourself accountable for flaws and mistakes while loving yourself enough to be patient with the journey of improving.
outward energy - be very aware of the vibes you’re permeating. again this is so a huge determination of how you will be treated and how you will live your life.
work ethic/discipline - it’s gonna take serious accountability to escape the desire to stay comfortable. you have to tell yourself that you deserve *your desired end result* so you will *make specific change/adjustment.* it’s that simple (again simple doesn’t mean easy).
relationships - if you don’t like the way you’re treated by those in your life, those relationships need to be reevaluated. you can make some trims on your circle, have some honest conversations, or adjust your behaviors (because sometimes, YOU are the problem).
passion and career - in order to feel fulfilled in life, we all need a purpose. discover yours. incorporate your passion into your daily life.
looks - develop your signature and hone in on it. looks are very important to your perception (self and public). check out this guide to help with this part. however you wanna feel is how you should display yourself.
be a dream girl!
you’ve discovered all the facets of creating your dream self and reality. now it’s time to apply what you’ve learned. start showing up in life in the fashion you want to be seen in.
that’s it! the rest is up to you!
- xoxo, dreamgrlarchive 🎀

see lot criticism about autism criteria how it describe how other people experience autistic person not how autistic person experience own autism & that definitely true & yeah there problematic issue abt that & this post not say there isn’t but
need people realize especially self diagnose late diagnose autistic realize that it initial that way for reason. it historic been how other people outward experience autistic person because so long it diagnose on toddler on young child who not able really talk lot about own inside experience own experience of autism because, well, they young. non autistic kid same age not able do that too. some may be able talk some but not in extensive way diagnostic need where can solely rely.
& also many whom developmental delay who significant communication or intellectual or social struggle who cannot (yet or ever) explain how inside feel. cannot self advocate. not aware enough of own experience. not understand own experience.
because that, criteria develop on behavior, base on outside look, base on other people describe. for these population, diagnose look like interview parents and teachers on how they view child & clinician also try engage in play look behavior.
which again not erase fact now that… autistic kids they researched in 90s for example grew up into adults + more adults who late/not diagnose with age of internet, realize hey am autistic too. & so research should keep up language should keep up how we see autism should keep up. & by not keep up they failing lot people. & even if there may be reason for leave out it not excuse it not erase harm.
or that these behavior these observe, often was & is describe in negative way.
or that these report of behavior or experience often biased by clinician/family/society view of race & gender & class.
but think just need realize. there so many autistic people who not fit in mainstream autism community idea of autism diagnosis journey of “realize in adult by self,” and treat as if “realize in adult” as only experience. do disservice to so many autistic people often more vulnerable member in community.

How to Survive the Editing Process
Writing a first draft takes so much of your time and energy. When you finish something, celebrate your accomplishment! It’s proof of your creativity and hard work.
If you want people to read your work, then it’s time to edit.
Editing can seem scary. Daunting. Confusing.
Use these tips to get started.
1. Take a Break from Your Work
It’s so important to let your brain reset after finishing any story. Close your draft and spend the next few days or weeks doing other hobbies. When you feel ready to return with a newly energized, distanced perspective, you’ll get your best editing work done.
2. Start With Developmental Editing
Writers often think that they have to start editing line by line, looking for grammar and spelling issues. While you’re free to do that, you’re likely going to add and remove plenty of content before your final draft is done.
Instead, start with developmental editing. Read through your work and take notes about how the larger plot points are working or not working. Does each chapter move your characters through each point on your plot outline or your visualized storyline?
This step may involve adding new scenes or removing others. It can also mean reworking old scenes so they’re less wordy, more descriptive, more actionable, or whatever you feel like is missing.
Take notes about plot holes too. You don’t have to fix them on your first read-through, but note where they’re happening and why they’re holes. You can return in your second read-through to address them.
You can also break your developmental editing into questions, like:
What is my story’s theme and does each chapter support that theme?
What does every character want and do they achieve that? Why or why not?
What motivates each character? Do they retain that motivation or develop a new one to better serve the plot? (Sometimes writers forget about initial character motivations while getting lost in the writing process. This is the time to revisit that!)
Do you have a beginning, an inciting incident, building through the middle, and payoff at the end? (You can have much more than these, but these are very basic plot mechanics to look for.)
3. Save and Start a Second Draft
After reading through your manuscript and noting the things above, create a copy for your second draft and start working on your notes. It’s good to have a separate second copy in case you want to include something from the original draft later on or just want to compare where you story started/how it ended up.
Again, you’re not supposed to worry about line work at this point. Focus on bigger-picture story issues like plot mechanics, how scenes work/don’t work, plot holes, and your theme(s).
Reminder: there’s no timeline for getting these steps done. Work when you have the energy and take breaks when you don’t. Your manuscript will stay right where you save it.
4. Reread Your Work
When you’ve worked through your list of notes, make a copy of your manuscript and start Round 3. Reread your story and start a new list of bigger-picture notes as needed. This time, the list should be shorter or include new notes that you didn’t catch before. They may also include notes for new scenes you just added.
The point of this reread is to make sure that your manuscript still works. Your plot shouldn’t have any holes, it should flow smoothly, and it should be engaging.
Here’s a key concern for many writers: how do you edit your story without getting away from your original intentions?
Keep your eyes locked on why you write your original draft. If you make edits/scene removals or additions with that purpose or theme in mind, your story will stay on track. It may eventually look completely different than what you originally wrote (if that’s your editing journey), but the heart of it will remain the same.
Try posting your story’s purpose or theme on a sticky note attached to your monitor.
You could also write the theme in your document’s header so it appears on every page.
5. Save and Start a Fourth Draft
Yes, it’s time for another new copy that’s your official fourth draft.
Remember—you can still walk away and return to your work later! Burnout won’t result in the story you’ve been working so hard to create. Get some sleep, see some friends, enjoy your other hobbies. You’ll come back ready to go.
The fourth draft is another chance to read through your work and ensure that everything works. Your chapters should get your characters closer to your theme/purpose with each page. The scenes should flow, not repeat information, and keep you engaged.
When you have a small list of edits or none at all, it’s time to start line work.
The spell check feature of any word processing software is a lifesaver, but it’s also not perfect. You’re going to have sentence structures that spell check deems incorrect when it actually works for your writing style or character. You’ll have fake names you made up that spell check wants to change.
If you use spell check, proceed slowly. Read every sentence with a flagged issue to make sure it’s a good or bad suggestion.
You can double your line work by combing through it by yourself. Print your story and grab a highlighter or use the highlight feature on your computer. Note linework issues that you can fix with a quick edit when you get a chance, like:
Misspellings
Missing punctuation
Wrong punctuation marks
Missing words
Inconsistent capitalization or spelling
Formatting issues (spelling out numbers vs using numerals, etc.)
Using the wrong tense in some paragraphs or chapters
Inserting indents as needed
Extra spaces between paragraphs
6. Send Your Work to Beta Readers
Repeat the saving, making a copy, and editing as many times as you want. When you feel like you’ve got your strongest draft yet, you can send it to beta readers.
How you define beta readers depends on your specific situation. You may have a few writing friends who know the craft well and will read your work with a professional eye. You might have a family member or best friend who doesn’t know about the craft of writing but always reads your work.
There are also places like Reddit threads and Facebook groups where people volunteer as beta readers.
The primary reason to get fresh eyes on your work is to get notes from someone who hasn’t been working on the content for months or years.
Their advice might not always be usable, but it’s still an important part of editing. Your beta reader might suggest points where they lost interest because your pacing slows down or point out places where you described your protagonist as having long hair when they have short hair during the rest of the story.
You’ll know which suggestions are actionable and which aren’t based on who’s speaking and how it resonates with your story’s purpose. You’ll probably get better advice from other writers who have been through editing before, but that doesn’t mean their advice will always be correct.
Check in with your story’s purpose or theme before taking action on a beta reader’s notes.
When Should You Stop Editing?
One of the final battles during your editing experience will be recognizing when you can stop working on your manuscript.
There will always be moments where you could think of a new scene or a new way to rewrite a scene. That doesn’t mean you have to!
Ask yourself these questions to finish your editing when your story is strongest:
Question 1: Have I Worked Through the Most Essential Plot Mechanics?
A finished manuscript doesn’t need more structural work. But structural, I mean that you’ll be at peace because your manuscript:
Doesn’t have any plot holes
Addresses your theme/message from beginning to end
Showcases each character’s growth through plot developments
Has natural dialogue
Has introduced and resolved conflicts (with the exception of conflicts that will continue in a sequel or series)
Has no known typos or grammar issues
Question 2: Are My Edits Improvements or Are They Inconsequential?
You could spend a lifetime swapping character names, adjusting your world map, or revising how you describe locations. You might like your edits better, but they aren’t vital to your story’s plot or character development. If there’s no substantial improvement with your edits, you’re likely done with your manuscript.
-----
Editing can be tricky at first, but using steps like these will help you whack through the densest parts of the work. Take your time, give yourself space to rest, and you’ll create the story you’ve been working so hard to finish!

𝓣𝓱𝓮 𝓒𝓱𝓪𝓲𝓷 𝓗𝓮𝓪𝓭𝓬𝓪𝓷𝓸𝓷𝓼- 𝖕𝖆𝖗𝖙 3
Part 3! We finally get to Wars, Sky, and Wind! WIND IS PLATONIC ONLY DON'T BE GROSS
Warnings: possible suggestive themes (AGAIN NOT FOR WIND), angst, mental health topics, scars/wounds
⋆。°✩
𝖜𝖆𝖗𝖗𝖎𝖔𝖗𝖘
21-22 years old, one of the captain's of the Hylian Army. Zelda offered him a higher rank (general I'm assuming) and a position on the Hylian Council, but he refused almost right away.
Pretty tall, an inch above Twilight, but still shorter than Time
Blonde hair, shaggy but in a fashionable way. Idk y'all, he makes it work
Leaner muscle, double pierced lobes, wears chain linked earrings when at fromal events but usually sticks to his signature blue hoops
Can't read Hylian that well, but can understand/speak several languages, such as Twili (Twi is kinda jealous)
The strategist of the group. He was always under a time limit during the war, so he knows how to handle a tricky situation quickly and efficiently most of the time
Went to school in his developmental years, though was recruited at around 14-15 because he was way better in the fighting field than in academics. It worked out for him though, so he's not complaining.
As much as he cares about appearance and fighting for his country, he hates balls/formal events. The fake interactions and smiles make him sweat and he usually leaves an hour into them. He'll suck it up if you're there with him though
Closest to Time, Wild and Legend ironically enough. Wild and himself can relate on the aspect of being in the Hylian army, and they typically talk about how their experience was. Legend and him mostly bicker, but its all fun n' games. Time and Wars are essentially the higher-ups, though nobody actually says that, its just been silently established.
Super wary of Y/n, especially with his expriences with other dimensions and eras. He was honestly convinced you were part of Cia's plan or the shadow, since your timing seemed a little convenient, but you've gained his trust little by little, maybe a little too much.
Unlike his usual demeanor with women, he doesn't outwardly flirt with our protagonist. Yes, he throws a few quips here and there when appropriate, but he respects Y/n. He doesn't see them as everyone else. He has them on a pedestal towering over everyone
Has scars from the war, duh. He was mostly up close in the front lines, so a lot of slashes and nicks. Has a pretty bad burn on his left arm from Volga's fire, it's healed but still pretty scarred on his skin.
𝖘𝖐𝖞
20-21 years old, the "Chosen One".
Average height, light freckles across his face and shoulders, he was living right under the sun, you can't tell me he doesn't have freckles!!
Also... sleeper build. I said it. He has a sleeper build and boy when Y/n first sees him shirtless?? AWOOGA-
I headcanon him as having a gigantic triforce insignia tattoo all over his upper back. It was part of his ceremonial return, more on that later.
Suprisingly very school smart for falling asleep in class all the time. Sun was and still is very jealous of his natural smarts.
Has his lobes pierced, wears small red hoops. He wants to get more stacked piercings, a loftwing feather to match with Y/n in the future, who knows?
Doesn't have the biggest sweetest tooth, but he does love pastires of almost any kind. Pumpkin ones are his favorites, though Y/n's cinnamon rolls are quickly climbing up the ladder.
One of the most conflicted about Hylia and the whole "following the goddess" thing. He s=has insomnia because of it, causes him a lot of anxiety.
He was very depressed after his journey was finished, as he didn't identify as anything else besides a hero, and since his purpose was completed, he was nobody.
Struggled a lot with isolation and self-deprecation right up until joining the Chain. He still struggles with it, despite it being years later.
After meeting you and learning about your similar struggles of identity and burden's of mental health, he felt so much less lonely. Sure the Chain were his brothers and they knew what he had been through, you really understood him. You went through the same thing, you knew what it felt like.
Close to Hyrule and Four, but probably most attached to Y/n, even before the romantic feelings set in. He's got a big heart.
Biggest sleepyhead. Will sleep almost anywhere, especially if he's exhausted.
Hobbies include woodworking and playing his harp, but recently took up making a piece of jewelry for Y/n. He's been working on it for months, adventuring prevents him from working on it too long. He wants to give it to you during the winter festival, when you're all his.
𝖜𝖎𝖓𝖉
little shit
...
I would say I'm kidding, but he is :3
around 13 I wanna say, it's only been about a year since his adventure.
Short, duh, but his growth spurt is kicking in. He's catching up to Y/n, and you are not excited to be the shortest in a few years.
Sandy blonde hair, a bit wavy. Somehow always has a tiny bit of sand in it, no matter how many times he washes his hair.
If you think Twi or Hyrule had the biggest sweet tooth? HELL NO
If Wind ever found out about energy drinks or soda/pop, we're done for
Not the best in terms of speaking and reading Hylian, though being a pirate has helped him develop his own colorful vocabulary
Very skilled with up close combat, though the others hardly ever let him be on the front offensive
Similar to Wild, likes taking pics of anything (mostly weird faces that the others make)
Y/n and him clicked INSTANTLY. He might've not trusted them immediately, but they were best friends super fast. Wind has helped you get through homesickness by tellng you his own stories about his home.
"Captain" of Tetra's ship, or that's what he believes
Everyone knows Tetra's in charge though
Struggles a bit with alcoholism, being a pirate and all kinda leads you to be reliant on alcohol. The boys are trying to help him with it, but its the main coping skills he uses when after a high stress situation or he's feeling lost mentally.
Everyone sees him as a little brother, despite how much of a little shit he is >:3c

"A ROLLER COASTER FIRST LOVE"
Pregnancy is the time at which a fetus develops inside the woman's body, which usually lasts up to 40 weeks or 280 days. During pregnancy, a woman's body undergoes unremarkable changes throughout the nine months of carrying the baby. It is a profoundly cherished event that parents anticipate with family and friends.
On a windy afternoon on September 1, 2024, we had the opportunity to interview Ms. Maine, a 20-year-old woman, to share her journey of becoming a first-time mother.
Maine has been on a roller coaster ride as she experienced lots of physical and emotional changes throughout her pregnancy journey. "Na experience ko po nung nabuntis ako mabilis uminit ulo ko tapos palaging nasusuka, masakit ang ulo," she shared. She also noticed the physical changes in her body. "Ngayon po tumataba na po ako tapos namamanas ang ilong ko, marami din po acne, sobrang dry po ng balat." Maine is also experiencing mood or emotional changes, which is very common to a pregnant woman. "Mabilis po akong umiyak din po, magalit."
Maine shared her prenatal journey in the hospital and their nearest health center to find out the current condition of her baby. "Noong sa hospital po kasi isang beses pa lang ako nagpacheck up nito lang, binigyan pa po muna ako ng reseta tapos sa center naman every Thursday ako nagpapacheck-up, sabi naman po okay naman daw yung baby."
Food cravings are very common to pregnant women; they can have the normal to weirdest combinations of all, and they normally occur in early pregnancy. "Normal cravings lang po, maaalat na maanghang, yung mga takoyaki, sharwarma," she shared.
Morning sickness is one of the most obvious and noticeable symptoms for a pregnant woman. It is also common for pregnant women to have morning sickness every day, and this usually occurs during the first trimester. We asked Maine about this symptom, if she ever had a morning sickness, and she shared that it happened during first trimester and it lasted for about 4 months. "Wala na po, nung first meron pero ngayon wala na."
Maine has also plotted a lot of plans for after childbirth. Since she is not studying anymore, she also shared her plan: "Gusto ko nalang po mag work" She added that when her baby is already five or six months old, that is when she's going to start working. Aside from that, she's also planning for a normal delivery rather than a cesarean section.
When they found out that she was pregnant, she shared that her parents got mad at first, but as of the moment they are now on good terms. In addition, she has also been planning, preparing, and buying things for her baby. "Ngayon po pa unti-unti meron na po, may mga gamit na po."
The first-time parent also shared what she's currently feeling with their baby boy. "Excited po na kinakabahan". When she got pregnant with her baby, she had to put aside the things that she wanted and focus on the things that were very important. "Parang sinantabi ko na po yung iba kong gusto tapos parang inisip ko na lang po mga dapat gawin"
Lastly, she gave a message for first-time moms, and also for the moms that are also the same age as her. "Magbuntis sila kapag financially stable na sila, tapos kapag ready na din po sila."

Writing Notes: Novel Editing
Tumblr media
Below are 4 different types of novel editing. Revising in the right order is essential if you want your book to be in the best shape possible.
Developmental Editing
Comes first.
Involves looking at the story as a whole.
Also called structural editing, or content editing.
Base components. Plot, structure, characterization, pace, viewpoint, narrative style, and tense:
Plot: Sequence of events that take the reader from the beginning to the end.
Structure: How the plot is organized. Even if B occurred after A, the reader might learn about B before the events of A are unveiled.
Characterization: How characters are represented such that we can make sense of their behavior as we journey with them through the story.
Pace: The speed at which the story unfolds. Effective pace ensures readers feel neither rushed nor bored. That doesn’t mean the pace remains steady; a story can include sections of fast-paced action and slower cool-downs.
Viewpoint: In each chapter or section, readers should understand who the narrator is—whose eyes they are seeing through, whose emotions they have access to, whose voice dominates the narrative. It also means understanding the restrictions in play such that head-hopping doesn’t pull the reader out of the story.
Narrative style: Is the narrative viewpoint conveyed in the first, second or third person? The choice determines a narrative’s style.
Tense: Is the story told in the present or the past tense? Each has its benefits and limitations.
Notes: On Developmental Editing
Types of developmental edits:
Full-novel edits in which the editor revises (or suggests revisions) that will improve the story;
critiques or manuscript evaluations that report on the strengths and weaknesses of the story; and
sensitivity reads that offer specialist reports on the potential misrepresentation and devaluation of marginalized others.
Different editors handle developmental edits in different ways.
One might include an assessment of genre and marketability; another might not.
Some editors revise the raw text; others restrict the edit to margin markup.
Check what you’re being offered against what you want.
Developmental editing isn’t about checking spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
Line Editing
The next step in the revision process; it is stylistic work.
A strong sentence elevates story; a poorly crafted one can bury it.
This level of editing revises for style, sense, and flow.
Also called substantive editing or stylistic editing.
Editors will be addressing the following:
Authenticity of phrasing and word choice in relation to character voice
Character-trait consistency and unveiling
Clarity and consistency of viewpoint and narrative style
Cliché and awkward metaphor
Dialogue and how it conveys voice, mood, and intention
Sentence pace and flow, with special attention to repetition and overwriting
Tenses, and whether they’re effective and consistent
Told-versus-shown prose
Notes: On Line Editing
Types of sentence-level edits:
Full-novel line edits in which the editor revises (or suggests revisions) that will improve the line work;
line critiques that report on the strengths and weaknesses of the line craft; and
mini line edits in which the editor revises an agreed section of the novel such that the author can hone their line craft and mimic the edit throughout the rest of the novel.
Different editors define their sentence-level services differently.
Some include technical checking (copy editing) with the stylistic work, while some do the stylistic and technical work in separate passes.
Check what you’re being offered against what you want.
Line-editing stage is not the ideal place to be fixing problems with plot, theme, pace and viewpoint. Fixes are likely to be inelegant and invasive.
Copy Editing
The technical side of sentence-level work.
Editors will be addressing the following:
Chapter sequencing
Consistency of proper-noun spelling
Dialogue tagging and punctuation
Letter, word, line, and paragraph spacing
Logic of timeline, environment, and character traits
Spelling, grammar, syntax, punctuation, hyphenation, and capitalization
Standard document formatting
Notes: On Copy Editing
Some editors offer line editing and copy editing together in a single pass. That combined service might be indicated by what it’s called, e.g. ‘line-/copy editing’. However, it might be called just ‘copy editing’ even though it includes stylistic work.
Check what you’re being offered against what you want.
Novel copy editing is best done in a single pass:
When an editor works on separate chunks of text, inconsistencies are likely to slip through.
One pass of a sentence-level edit is not enough to ready a novel for publication. Final quality control is necessary.
Proofreading
The last stage of the editing process prior to publication.
Every novel, whether it’s being delivered in print or digitally, requires a final quality-control check.
What a Proofreader Does
Looks for literal errors and layout problems that slipped through previous rounds of revision or were introduced at design stage.
Authors preparing for print can ask a proofreader to annotate page proofs. These are almost what a reader would see if they pulled the novel off the shelf.
Others ask proofreaders to amend the raw text, either because they’re preparing for e-publication or for audiobook narration.
Proofreaders are more than typo hunters
They check for consistency of spelling, punctuation and grammar, but also for layout problems such as (but not limited to) indentation, line spacing, inconsistent chapter drops, missing page numbers, and font and heading styles.
The art of good proofreading lies in knowing when to change and when to leave well enough alone.
A good proofreader should understand the impact of their revisions—not only in relation to the knock-on effect on other pages but also to the cost if a third-party designer/formatter is part of the team.
Notes: On Proofreading
A proofread is rarely enough, no matter how experienced the writer. It’s the last line of defense, not the only line of defense.
Be sure to clarify with an editor what you want and which mediums the editor works with. Proofreading designed page proofs requires an additional level of checking that a raw-text review doesn’t. And some editors work only on raw text, some only on PDF, and some only on hard copy.
Proofreading is about quality control. The proofreader should be polishing the manuscript, not filling in plot holes or trimming purple prose.

FINAL NOTES
Authors need to take their books through all the types of editing.
That doesn’t mean hiring third party professionals for each stage.
Writing groups, self-study courses, how-to books, and self publishing organizations are all great sources of editorial support.
If you decide to work with a professional, invest in one who can help you where you’re weakest:
You might be a great structural self-editor but prone to overwriting. Or you might have nailed line craft but need help with story development.
Pay attention to the order of play when it comes to revision.
Fixing plot holes at proofreading stage might damage previous rounds of editing.

since kits in BB have more freedom, what would the clans think of a mi who DIDN'T want to let their kits out of camp at all and barely out of the nursery unsupervised? would they be viewed as abusive or just a bit of a helicopter parent? would the clan think perhaps they needed to get the cleric involved?
It would be a huge cause for alarm.
Clan cats see kittens as future warriors, not objects for an individual to possess. The Mi is responsible for the first part of a warrior's childhood, for overseeing their well-being and development. Children aren't pets, they're on a journey towards becoming adults. So the Mi, Ba, and Mentor are NOT entitled to "deprive" their charges of what the Clan believes kits are owed.
So, in a way that might be unfortunate, they will respond to this more effectively than they would respond to physical abuse. Especially because this is a battle culture.
As an example, Hillrunner was REALLY easily able to hide the fact she was thrashing Nightkit and Tawnykit, just by coming up with "punishments" for their bad behavior to deflect attention onto. If she was making them run around with a stone in their mouth for backtalk, it looked like "parenting" to WindClan. But if she had shut down and tried to keep them in the nursery all day, fearful of losing them like she lost Downwind, making them miss major developmental milestones like "first prey," someone would have stepped in.
But anyway, back on a suffocating Mi.
If there are Ba involved in this, it is expected that they would be the ones making that challenge. If the Mi starts preventing them from taking their kits out of the nursery to socialize them, or starts excluding them on "unfair grounds," they might appeal to the Leader or Cleric to become the kit's Mi. In such case, they would decide if the Mi gets to become a Ba or if they're now excluded.
(this is a major reason why there is not more than one Mi; it's not the "mother" role. It's primary guardianship. A Ba and a Mi are not "legally" equal to the Clan.)
If there are no Ba, then it's usually the Educator who would be stepping in. Though another Mi in the nursery could also bring up these concerns, the Educator will often notice just how far behind a kitten has fallen when they come in to teach history and glyphs.
Situations like that are a lot rarer than you'd think though. One of the advantages of a Clan is that it's a community. Friends, parents, siblings, cousins, mentors, and apprentices are meant to be trying to involve themselves in the raising of kits, and the support of their struggling family member. Even standard Clanmates would start wondering why they haven't seen the kittens around.
Extreme paranoia like this usually comes from something traumatic, and ideally you're meant to have a network to help recognize when that's happened to you. If the situation has gotten THAT bad, there's usually some outstanding circumstances for why that is.

So, Your Child is Force Sensitive:
it’s a book written during the prequel era by some mommy blogger on a random planet. she’s got a set of force sensitive twin boys and she compiled her blog posts into a book all about raising force sensitives and choosing not to give them to the jedi temple.
the book is not super well known, it only ever sold maybe a few hundred copies, but it’s honestly really detailed. this lady did her research, but still is able to give her outside perspectives as a force null. she talks all about being pregnant with force sensitives, the babies special needs as empaths, the choice to raise them herself, interactions between force sensitives being raised together, the developmental checkpoints that are different from force nulls, and even how to deal with your moody and powerful force sensitive teens.
the book also talks a bit about jedi ideology and family structures (to help parents make the decision of whether to give the kid to the jedi or not) (it took her so long and so many space emails to the jedi to do that research)
the jedi themselves, however, are not too big of fans of this book because they think it’s probably for the best for force sensitive kids to be raised in the temple (and in some ways it is), but this mommy blogger advocates that with the right, caring parents and the right knowledge, force sensitive kids can do just fine being raised at home (and she’s also kinda right)
anyway, the book stays unpopular all the way up until order 66. then the book gets super-duper banned with all the rest of the reputable information on force sensitive people and the jedi. the mommy blogger stops posting. her and her now adult children drop off the map. her small (but devoted) following has no idea if they’re ok or even alive, but they go to great lengths to erase all of her personal information off the holonet if they can.
the galaxy keeps turning, and the mommy blogger stays missing, but sometimes her book (the few copies not destroyed) will end up in the hands of people who need it. people like bail and breha organa, owen and beru lars, kanan jarrus and hera syndulla, and even eventually din djarin.
even luke skywalker gets himself a copy when he’s suddenly responsible for having his own little force school. (at one point, din is reading the chapter on letting go of your kids when they leave the nest, while luke is simultaneously reading the chapter on how to calm an inconsolable youngling)
a lot of the research into how the jedi work and their ideologies are actually way more accurate, relevant, and recent than any of luke’s other ancient jedi texts, so that’s how luke’s jedi order rebuilding efforts become mostly built on one chapter of a book written by a middle-aged, force null, mother of two.
this mommy blogger may have started her blog just to document her journey in raising her twins, but she ended up writing a book that would help raise a generation of force sensitive children who had no jedi temple to turn to. her honest care spread farther than she could have imagined.
still, nobody could find out where she and her twins went, even after the fall of the empire when it was safe.
