the difference between lex luthor in dc comics vs lex luthor in smallville is that if comics lex ever managed to successfully kill superman, he would feel triumphant for all of a week, then realize his life suddenly felt empty and purposeless before having his 50th "the world needs superman, actually" realization and trying to clone him (again) whereas smallville lex would orchestrate things so they died together and he'd be crying the whole time

One of the reasons Deadpool & Wolverine worked so immensely well is because we, the fans, didn’t know ANYTHING about the cameos and spoilers. Does marvel/disney, or obsessive media outlets, realise that WE DONT FUCKING WANT TO KNOW ANYTHING?????? Don’t tell us what’s going to happen or who’s going to show up PLEASE I AM BEGGING!!! We are patient, we want the payoff of being patient. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE I DO NOT WANT TO KNOW WHICH MIRACLE IM GOING TO WATCH COME TO LIFE PLEASE FUCKING SHUT UP!!!!!!!!

If mutants become the focus of the MCU in phase 7-9, then they should make Dark Phoenix the big bad of phase 7. Phase 8 should be Apocalypse, but build up to him, work in the Celestial connection, and bring back a recasted Kang to be part of his origin. Magneto, Sinister, and the Sentinels are recurring throughout. Then, phase 9 NEEDS to have Onslaught as the overall phase villain. Have the first X-men movie end with Magneto getting blasted full force by a pissed off professor X, then make it seem like Magneto is constantly spying on the heroes (not just the X men, also Spider-Man and the fantastic four) throughout the movies until it’s revealed in the phase 9 X-Men movie that it had been onslaught all along. Then, that first movie is the X-Men fighting on slot and ultimately losing, with the post credit scene teasing Avengers 7, then Avengers 7 and 8 cover Onslaughts attack on New York, his massing of power using X-Men and Franklin Richards, before the heroes finally launch one final attack on onslaught. This would also be the perfect time for Bruce to bring back the real Hulk, as a desperate maneuver to finish Onslaught, having Jean deactivate Bruce Banner, and bring back the Hulk. It would even be comic accurate.
Basically I love Onslaught and think he is the most criminally underrated X-men villain ever, and he would be the perfect big bad for an MCU saga, particularly since his original comic appearance was an Infinity War level team up and the story would require very little tinkering. Plus, I love Apocalypse and want him to get a better film adaptation, and I love Kang and hope that they recast and bring him back later.

Marvel Fans and What we talk about
I haven't watched any of the movies yet except the one about spiderman so I can't comment much on which I think would be the best here but seems like a lot of the fans love spiderman's return!!
Regardless, I've been thinking a lot lately about how the Marvel fandom interacts through multimodal content across social media platforms, and I I came across this post by m.c.u.n. Spider-Man, Wolverine, Deadpool, and characters from Avengers: Endgame.
I love how replies turn into a discussion of the Marvel multiverse and variations in character arcs across different films. I also love this post for bringing everyone into the discussion. I am noticing something that is common in fan communities: fans come together to correct each other’s knowledge, provide additional context, and, in the process, assert their identity as knowledgeable Marvel fans.

Here's the thing.
RDJ is Tony Stark. Nothing can change that.
I'm happy to see him back, but as Doom? Its iffy.
I love RDJ as much as the next person, but I'm not sure how he'll portray this character. We don't need another Tony. We need a new character that's unique and straight from the comics. Why couldn't they cast a new face (an actual Romani face)?
I just don't want his sacrifice in EG to be in vain. He's a hero- nothing can change that.
I don't need Marvel to be stupid and do what they've done to too many characters: ruin their development (ahem.. Dr Strange, Wanda, Hulk, etc).
I know it's the multiverse but still.
On the bright side, the ANGST.
Pepper's enemy being her multiversal husband, Peter seeing Tony again only for it to be Doom, maybe some twisted Ironstrange content??! (Doom and Strange were huge in the comics.).
There are so many possibilities!!
In short, I feel conflicted, but I'm curious to see what happens.

I thought your dream story was amazing and so intense and yeah bad, lol clearly, but that has manifested itself as a whole AU in my head. Geriatric V and mentally ill M experiencing doomsday in a pastel grandmacore cottage be reminding me of an a24 film or some cult movie where you are experiencing the -wrongness- What a whole concept.
