Patrick's speaking voice really is so wonderful!

I don't know if it's just from the literal decades of being a terminal Patrick girlie, but hearing him talk is like listening to audible sunshine, especially when a smile creeps into his voice when he's talking to Pete, or about music.

It's such an interesting contrast how soft-spoken he is when he talks, compared to how dynamic his singing voice is. It's just one of the million and one things I love about him!

i agree! not to nerd out on you but at this point in his career patrick's vocal technique when he's singing is so good it's genuinely fucking insane, like nearly ironclad, and i'm so obsessed with how you can hear that in his speaking voice too. his breath control/support and voice placement has like. relaxed into constant singing shape. so when he speaks you can hear a lot of those qualities that make him a uniquely skilled vocalist, just in a much softer casual mode, which to most people comes across as a very melodic and grounded and gentle speaking tenor. it's so great.

also don't even get me on his pete voice... the difference between how he sounds when he's talking to an audience vs when he turns around to talk to pete during the riff is so... like... patrick... why are you talking to him so sweetly... ough. yeah. he's very emotive when he's singing AND speaking

Well I forgot all about this but good thing you asked and I remembered to check for asks.

Once upon a time, Sqam was a little bambino in elementary school. This school was a private Catholic school, meaning there was no actual cafeteria, or perhaps it’d be more accurate to say there was no auditorium and the cafeteria just had a small stage in the back of it. Regardless, there wasn’t a planned lunch menu for the week/month so far as I can recall. The school lunches were made what little Sqam assumed were volunteers (though they may have actually been getting paid for part-time work, idk and I can’t ask because the school is no more).

While attending his school, Sqam would sometimes get the lunch that the nice ladies from church made each day. On this fateful day, the ladies had made broccoli. Sqam had not brought lunch with him that day, and so he accepted whatever the meal was along with its side of broccoli. Poor little Sqam had no idea why this was a terrible idea.

As Sqam sat down to enjoy his meal, he looked around at his classmates in thought. Sqam was a very contemplative child and didn’t always dig in right away, especially for foods that he didn’t love. While Sqam was spacing out, a bit of movement caught his eye. The little buds on his broccoli appeared to be moving. Sqam was perplexed by this and gave the broccoli his full attention. He lifted a piece up to examine it and immediately threw the fork down.

Every bud of Sqam’s broccoli was crawling with bugs. They hadn’t been doing anything until they got on his tray, apparently, but every single bud on Sqam’s broccoli was actually a tiny, little bug. Sqam asked his closest classmate if they were seeing what he was seeing. Indeed, it was not just Sqam’s broccoli that had bugs instead of buds.

Now as Sqam was making this shocking discovery, one of the five girls in his class was preparing to take a bite of her broccoli. She actually had the fork up to her mouth and was opening wide to take a bite when Sqam and his classmate had noticed their bugs. The girl stopped and looked at her fork, seeing that she too had dozens of not hundreds of little bugs crawling all over her vegetables. The girl SHRIEKED and threw her fork as far away from her as she could, still only managing to get it on the long, folding picnic table that he school used for lunchtime, and scrambled away as fast as she could.

With all eye’s on her, people now began to see what was the commotion. The grades below Sqam’s squealed and threw their trays away from them, the rest of Sqam’s class got up and backed away from their tables, for by now the bugs had been disturbed or attracted to the other food on offer and were swarming the lunch trays. Children screamed, children laughed, but everyone kept away from the bugs in the broccoli.

It was sheer pandemonium as those who had taken some bites of their food rushed to the bathrooms to spit out whatever was left. Teachers tried to corral students to their classrooms, insults were hurled at the girls for being afraid of bugs, threats of legal action were probably levied at the poor lunch ladies who hadn’t realized their broccoli was contaminated, and smaller children had fun trying to squish bugs and make a mess.

While the details of the aftermath are lost to time, one thing remains: Sqam has always remembered the bugs in the broccoli. To this day he cannot eat anything with broccoli in it without thoroughly inspecting it first. And he has never enjoyed broccoli as much as he used to ever since then.

i'm not sure...what you want me to do about that? rescind the "callout" ? the fact of the matter is that he's still perfectly fine with exposing minors to adult content and the fact that he'd rather delete than change that is telling. he's clearly got trauma with the vore community, he told us that- but pushing that trauma and your ideals onto other people (vore is a porn word and if you use it you're a fetishist, liking unwilling is the same as having a sexual assault fetish, etc) and making that into a misleading ass tag for people to follow is NOT it. his post you insisted on me reading just tell me that he still refuses to take responsibility for his actions and how he treated people (especially with just saying "it was years ago!" with no elaboration, and what triggered this document being made happened this year!), and he's playing the victim. again, like how he did with us. implying that we'd DOXX him is straight up foul- all of the information in the doc was taken from his blog, our confrontation with him, and his old twitter account. did you read it or did you come here straight from the post with no context?

yes, he should delete his blog! for his mental health, and for the safety of others. being in this community is only damaging him and putting minors at risk, especially given the incident of sexual harassment and intentional misgendering.

I need you all to take a deep breath

Im about to say some things that some people here might greatly disagree with me on and others might find comfort in.

I am disgusted by how some of the people in this fandom are treating others in the fandom, and how yall are treating Vessel and the boys.

These are grown men. They do not need other people telling people in the fandom what to post in fandom space, they don’t need people telling others how he feels. Caramel was a blatant expression to his own feelings. He spoke his mind and emotions.

What I need you all to understand is that he still loves us. The only people he is upset with are the people that shout out his name during shows, they are upset with the people that have doxxed them. Thats the only people he’s mentioned that he is unhappy with. Nothing about the fanartists, nothing about the nsfw fan artists, nothing about the fan fiction and nsfw fan fiction authors. Only the people that have forcefully removed his mask by showing his name, only the people that know their address.

I am TIRED of seeing others in the fandom saying “we shouldn’t point fingers because WE are the problem.” “We are all responsible” because dammit, I know I am NOT responsible for making him feel unsafe to answer his own front door. I know there are many, MANY fans out there that have respected his privacy. Respected that Vessel with the mask is a character.

I refuse to be included and shamed in something I know I did NOT do. I know other fans in this fan space did not do anything wrong either and I want to be the voice for those that know they are innocent as well.
