Warning: Chapter 7 Spoilers!!
Malleus Draconia
The local wizard! He’s a big enigma to the townspeople and people either hate him or love him! (Not true, literally only Leona and Diasomnia feel that strongly for him)
Not much is known about magic in this world and it’s said only fae and their descendants are capable of wielding it.
Lives in the forest in a tower that houses two very well maintained gargoyles.
When you receive a letter from him about the junimos he adds that you should get gargoyles too for a better drainage system…
In this universe I think you would already know who he is from the get go but he won’t tell you his name so you nickname him Tsunotaro/Hornton anyways.
Is very close to Lilia, Sebek and Silver! Lilia raised him, he half raised Silver and Sebek is his apprentice! (He took him in out of fondness)
He’s actually a descendant of fae royalty from a fallen kingdom ages old but now he’s living at NRV.
He’s very lonely and was very glad to hear a little farmer with no knowledge of his reputation had moved in.
And yes, stone is a liked gift for him-
Loved Gifts: Ice Cream, Any Gem, Rose, Dinosaur Egg, Universal Loves
“Heh. It takes quite the feat to impress someone of my calibre, child of man. You’ve done well.”
Hated Gifts: Pink Cake, Chocolate Cake, Strange Bun (Specifically the Lilia branded ones…), Iron Bar, Universal Hates
“...” Lighting turns it into ashes.
Lilia Vanrouge
The owner and leader of the adventurer’s guild! Started it with Baul who is currently in the Skull Caverns.
Is actually fae and a powerful wizard but nobody in town knows, they just think he’s this weird kid who’s really good with the sword.
Lives in a little cottage in the woods with his son Silver who he took in when he was but a babe.
Malleus was living with them before but had to move out cuz his cauldrons and bookshelves were taking up too much space. They still live very close by though so he brings food over whenever he cooks! (Malleus teleports to ten different locations and Lilia follows)
.He’s considering retiring from his position at the adventurers guild and passing it onto Silver.
He has been training Silver and Sebek in the art of swordsmanship since they were young.
He’s in a band with Cater and Kalim, he plays the bass! Occasionally travels to the city for concerts!
Is often found at his cottage or at the adventurers guild!
Loved Gifts: Tomatoes, Black Licorice, Tomato Juice, Pizza, Strange Bun, Universal Loves
“How precious! I’m guessing my cuteness has charmed you? Fufu~”
Hated Gifts: Marshmallows, Solar Essence, Bat Wing, Universal Hates
“Hm. I'm rather disappointed in you, farmer..."
Silver Vanrouge
A knight in training, learning swordsmanship from Lilia!
A lot of Lilia’s training consists of going down into the mines and freestyling so he picks up requests from the bulletin board often to hit two birds with one stone. Lilia banned him from going down alone after his first time passing out though…
Often passes out in the middle of the day and sometimes wakes up to see Ortho charging him 50 gold…
He’s a good friend of the animals in NRV and sometimes visits Kalim’s ranch to see them! He’s also the one who found the cat/dog that becomes your companion!
I feel like he has a mini garden near his cottage too! He bans Lilia from entering.
Goes horse racing with Sebek and Riddle every sunny Monday!
Is often found at his cottage, in the mines or taking a nap on a tree near town square.
Loved Gifts: Acorns, Mushroom Risotto, Coffee, Espresso, Universal Loves
“This is a great gift. How can I convey my gratitude?”
For Coffee and Espresso: “Thank you, farmer. This will keep me awake for training… Probably.”
Hated Gifts: Strange Bun (Also the Lilia branded ones…), Universal Hates
“Uhm, this is a rather… Unconventional gift."
For Strange Bun: “!! Has father been in the kitchen recently?!”
Sebek Zigvolt
A half-fae who’s the proud apprentice of the great wizard!
Lives with his parents, older brother and older sister and is childhood friends with Silver! Lilia basically sees him as another son with how often he’s around.
His father works as a dentist in town and his mother is an adventurer!
His family goes on fishing trips often.
Is able to use magic due to being half fae but the village doesn’t wanna give him the respect that deserves cuz he’s such a loudmouth…
He also still trains with Silver and Lilia regularly!
Goes horseback riding with Riddle and Silver every sunny Monday but is actually deathly afraid of horses…
Loved Gifts: Salmon Carpaccio, Books, Universal Loves
“Hmph, not bad for a human!"
Hated Gifts: Coffee, Espresso, Iron Bar, Strange Bun (Once again…)
“A slight to me is a slight to Master Malleus! Be prepared, human!”
For Strange Bun: “T-This is!! I will accept this… For Master Lilia…”

The Beautiful Blue Catfish
Blue catfish (Ictalurus furcatus) are members of the bullhead catfish family, native to the drainages of the Mississippi, Missouri, and Ohio river basins and the Gulf of Mexico. Because of their popularity as game fish, this species has also been introduced to freshwater systems throughout North and South America, and is considered invasive in these areas.
Like many catfish, I. furcatus is a bottom dweller. They can often be found near complex structures such as rocky outcroppings, fallen trees, or sunken structures that provide both food and shelter. The blue catfish is an opportunistic predator, consuming any fish or aquatic invertebrates it can find, as well as eggs, small amphibians, and injured or recently deceased animals. Adult I. furcatus are seldom prey for other species due to their size, but hatchlings and juveniles are often food for cormorants, willets, osprey, pelicans, and bald eagles. To deter predators, this species has serrated barbs along their dorsal and pectoral fins, each laced with a particularly painful toxin.
Though they can be difficult prey for other animals, the blue catfish is a popular target for fishermen, and for good reason; they're the largest species of catfish in North America. Adults can easily reach a length of 65 in (170 cm) and a weight of 165 lb (75 kg). As indicated by their name, most individuals are grey or blue, with a lighter underbelly. This species also lacks scales, a common characteristic of catfish, and the face is framed by long whisker-like barbels that help it detect nearby food.
While generally solitary, blue catfish aren't territorial, and tend to ignore each other until the mating season. Reproduction begins in April and continues until June, during which time males attract a female by building a nest and releasing attractive pheromones. Once a female has selected a male, she lays between 4,000-8,000 eggs per kilogram of bodyweight in his nest (i.e. if the female weighs 2 kg, she may lay between 8,000-16,000 eggs). The male then disperses sperm over the eggs. Following fertilization, the male chases away the female and guards the nest for about a week, at which time the eggs hatch. The hatchlings, also known as fry, stay close together in schools for several weeks before growing large enough to disperse. It will take them a further 5 years for them to reach maturity; on average individuals live about 10 years, but can live as long as 25.
Conservation status: The blue catfish is considered Least Concern by the IUCN. Within its native range, populations face minor threats from dams and droughts. Where it has been introduced, the species is considered invasive due to its voracious appetite.
If you like what I do, consider leaving a tip or buying me a ko-fi!

hey starbs,
as a person who struggles with chronic depression and severe anxiety, I cannot imagine the extra stress of everything you go through. I honestly feel terrible for what's going on. I get what it's like for things to feel very stressful and not having your time occupied can send these anxious thoughts.
Is el nino to blame for the floods? I've heard that natural weather phenomon can cause terrible storms.
I dont trust the random news sources, is there a website or somewhere I can go to just see what is going on, i want to be able to, not understand but just.. you have so much going on starbs' i'm so so sorry, I don't have funds to donate or anything but i will spread awareness the best I can.
my whole family now knows about the flooding People spreading the news who may be abe to donate.
stay safe the best you can and blessing to you and everyone you love.
please do not apologize, and thank you very much for taking some time to write me this, for helping spread awareness, and i appreciate the fact you shared the news with your family and maybe even did some research on the topic. i truly hope for things to get better soon.
i have no place in complaining about the situation, because i'm still safe, with my house intact.
here are some good news: i saw HUNDREDS OF MANY (like. mountains of it) sacks with food and supplies in them for people in the public shelters earlier today on tv!
now from what i see, some websites are not updated or might spread misinformation (i heard they blamed the people for building their houses near the rivers. istg)
about the floods, i do believe there were many different reasons behind it, that added up, resulted in this disaster.
[BEFORE ANYTHING. i don't consider this post or my own words a reliable source of information. not even the people who live here know what is currently going on, or what's gonna happen next. i'm sharing what i've been told, and have reasons to believe it's the truth]
the main reason is, as you may know, global warming, which is very self-explanatory. el niño (rain) has already happened, and el niña (drought) was supposed to take its place.
the second reason is because of negligence from the state's government. from what i remember, there were systems to drain the water in Porto Alegre that were left without maintenance and only now they're being activated.
it's absolutely not the fault of the people who built their houses there. just so you have a vision of it: Rio Grande's city hall building is located in a point were the water has easily reached it within a few hours. like ??? oh so they did not saw that coming ?? are they that dumb?? it's literally a seaport city...
the third reason is more environmental. the most affected city (Guaíba) is found inside a drainage basin (meaning that the rivers flow to the lowest area and meet in certain points, causing them to overflow altogether when it rains too much).

Hi!!! So I'm hoping to get top surgery this year (if all goes right) and just was wondering if you could do Crosshair x transmasc bf reader that Crossahir takes care of him after his surgery?
~Chopper
All the best for your surgery! I hope it works out to happen this year.
Tumblr media
You woke up in a daze. You looked down and saw binding poking out underneath the thin cotton gown. You smiled to yourself, feeling free despite the bindings, knowing that you were all the more closer to feeling and looking the way you wanted. You fell asleep again as you were left in a recovery room. All you heard was a familiar hum from your boyfriend as he held your hand.
You woke up sometime later feeling better. Crosshair tossed his toothpick in the bin and leaned over to kiss you.
"How do you feel," he asked.
"Tired and happy," you replied.
Once you were cleared to come home, he was with you every step of the way. He made some food that would go down easy, not wanting to upset your stomach while the medication worked its way through your system. When it came time for bed, he insisted you take your time getting comfortable.
"Don't forget you have to lay on your back," he said.
"I know, I know."
You didn't mind, but it wasn't quite how the two of you were used to sleeping. Crosshair got into bed next to your and kissed your temple. He moved a bit closer so you could kiss without putting you at risk of discomfort. He then laid down, put an arm around your lower waist, careful to avoid anything near your chest, and made you promise you'd wake him if you needed anything. Any time you moved a little in your sleep, he woke just to see if you needed anything. His body was on alert.
The first week after surgery was the hardest. It was one thing when you needed help, but as you started to heal, you had to remind yourself that you still had restrictions. Out of habit you wanted to reach for certain things in the kitchen and wanted to get back to normal. Crosshair was always there, his eyes ever watchful.
"Sit down. I've got it," he said, reaching for a glass and getting you something to eat and drink.
He did everything he could to make sure you felt good. He had a list of things to be on the lookout for like higher levels of pain than expected or unusual drainage. He wasn't always one to bring the fluffiest cuddles, but he could prepare food, keep things tidy, and help you with anything you needed. Just having him around and be more present than usual was a comfort.
It wasn't just helping you with day-to-day recovery, though. Every time he looked at you, he had a little smile. He was proud of you. You knew what you needed for yourself and you got it. The night before your first post-op appointment, he got into bed next to you like usual. You were excited to get the bandages off to get your first real look, but had to admit you were a bit nervous.
"Hopefully I'm not too swollen," you said quietly.
"You'll look perfect to me," he said.
"I know it'll take time to heal all the way," you added.
"I'll always be here," he said. "I love you."
"I love you too."

Kuroshitsuji theory (spoilers ahead)
Where is the F.O.L orphanage located in Norfolk?
This post was made a lot more in depth thanks to @abybweisse (please go ready their post about this subject once you are done here :))
Thanks to chapter 210 we know we are by a river, and that leave 4 maybe 5 rivers it could be; these rivers being Bure, Ouse, Wensum, Yare and maybe Waveny.
And I suspect we are along the River Yare, specifically at the Haddiscoe new cut (where the River Yare meets the river Waveny at the cut)
Tumblr media
And you’re probably wondering why I think this, let me explain.
First of all, the surrounding location of the F.O.L orphanage. We know it’s slightly raised on a hill, that’s surrounded by flat marsh / farm lands with a forest on the back of the building and has a river running near by and a transition along the river. As well as that the showing of seagulls in the start of the arc reveals it’s relatively close to the ocean. All of these factors are very similar to hadiscoe in 1889.
Originally I thought it was Haddiscoe Manor House but threw research done by Aby and myself, I now suspect that Raven Hall is the location of the of the orphanage. This is also correlated by the location of the river to the Hall shown in the map that Theo shows us of the underground tunnels.
Tumblr media
Raven Hall is a farm house estate just off of the yare river and inside of the Haddiscoe island. The estate also had a water mill pump called the Red Mill (in 1889 this would of been knows as the langley detached drainage pump), which is a drainage mill like the one mentioned, at the end of the chapter when the kids have to swim threw the drainage system to get out of the estate.
This drainage mill pumps water from the surrounding area to the river Yare, which is what Theo says the the mill by them does.
Tumblr media
Another thing to consider is how Finny and Snake would of got to this location by train. As we are shown at the start of the arc Finny and snake take a train to a far out station and walk in to the orphanage. I suspect they took the end of the line route that goes from Norwich to Lowestoft, but instead of taking the line to the end they got off at Haddiscoe station that is located on the south side of the cut next to st olaves. They would of then walked over one of the many bridges to the island and up to the F.O.L orphanage.
This also link to a safe way to get to the meeting point with the O!Ciel. Once the investigation on the orphanage was done, snake and Finny would have only need to follow the river Yare to get to Great Yarmouth or River Waveny to end up in Lowestoft. These towns were both port town which means they would have had trade route ships which could have taken them directly to Brighton by ocean instead of having to travel the whole country by foot or train.
With all these facts i am quite sure this is the location of the orphanage!
Thanks for reading, if you have any thing to add or if I’ve missed something please feel free to comment :D

Fuck it I'ma do fluffy stuff because I'm tired of all the angst that's eating away at me because of Rat Dad and I refuse to think about it because Rat Dad is fine and nO I'M NOT IN DENIAL LEAVE ME ALONE-
Splinter whenever his sons were still babies would often tell them stories in order to get them to go to sleep. Whether they were Japanese folk tales or American tales he'd learned or making it up entirely he'd always tell them a bedtime story. Because of this, Leo had grown to have a love of storytelling.
Splinter had been meditating in the dojo when his son, Donnie had first called him Dada. It was the first time any of his boys had spoken and it'd taken him all the way to cloud nine. Once Donnie started talking, his brothers followed suit. Mikey was the second one to talk saying Dada as well. The third to speak was Raph, his first word hilariously enough being No. The last one to speak was Leo who like Donnie and Mikey called Splinter Dada as well.
When the boys first started to walk Splinter quickly learned that his sons were the adventurous type of toddlers who liked to get into things they shouldn't be getting in to. From cabinets to chairs to different off limits rooms, no area was safe from his curious children.
Splinter used to carry the boys around everywhere. Due to them being so small, Splinter could carry them easily and he did so until they were literally too big to carry anymore.
Even though the boys weren't allowed on the surface, Splinter would let them explore the sewers near their home. There were even some trips where he'd join them on their exploration, listening attentively to every word they said as they explained the places they'd been too and all the cool things they'd discovered.
Mikey when he was little would always bring Splinter back little treasures. These things mainly consisted of pretty rocks that fell down the drainage system openings or abandoned bottle caps and other supposedly meaningless things. Splinter kept each and every one of them in a box by his bed.
Raph when he'd started to draw would draw pictures for Splinter and in a somewhat embarrassed yet shy and nervous way would hand them over to him, his entire posture waiting for Splinter's reaction to said drawings. Splinter loved each and every one of them, praising Raph's artistic ability and handing them on fridge to display proudly.
Donnie whenever he learned something new in his relentless search for knowledge, would immediately seek out Splinter to tell him all about it. Donnie would chat and ramble all about the new thing he learned while Splinter listened and asked questions whenever he could. Splinter didn't understand a lot of what his son said but seeing him beaming up at him was worth the confusion.
Leo when he first wanted to start joining Splinter for his tea times and meditation had been rather hesitant to ask him. The eldest son didn't want to bother Splinter but eventually his curiosity and thirst to learn won out over his nerves and Leo had finally asked. Splinter of course was thrilled that one of his boys wanted to train and learn more in the ways of ninjutsu. Soon Leo joined Splinter every tea time and meditation session and Splinter loved every moment of it.
There are times, from the moment of infancy to the boys' teenage years that they'd all go out to seek out Splinter whenever they'd had a nightmare or were troubled. Splinter would let his boys join him in his room, letting them all crawl into the futon with him and snuggle up against him for comfort. While Splinter was a tall rat and his sons were no longer little turtles they somehow made the sleeping arrangements work. Splinter would rub their shells in a soothing way, sometimes softly telling a story to help ease them much like they were young. He didn't mind it, and it always made him pleased to know that even though his sons were getting older, they were still in need of him and his presence.

I know folks are probably getting tired of this by now so you get a tag AND a cut.
But I feel like discussing this sort of thing might help people sometimes? since it's a first person account instead of listicles online.
What they did and didn't tell me about having stents.
They told me why: Facilitates drainage which takes strain (pressure) off of the kidneys and helps the antibiotics work by helping prevent pockets of infected urine reforming (that's what was making me sick, stuck urine that had built up lots of bacteria).
They told me how-ish: They go up with various catheters and things and install the stents, the stents stay in place until they are removed. Some stents have lines that exit the body to facilitate removal. Mine do not. The doc didn't want me accidentally pulling them out since the area they're in is heavily infected. They'll be removed at my first stone removal surgery in about two weeks from installation which was a couple days ago.
They did not tell me how-completely: The stents are hooked into my body meat like little fish hooks. They also didn't tell me they'd be taking urine for testing from my bladder and each kidney or that they would also be draining both kidneys during the procedure, so I did get a fluid-pressure reset.
They did not tell me basically anything about what the next two weeks will be like.
I'm on flowmax to soften my bladder so it's easier to empty. I don't think I needed that, I was peeing fine, but stents do change things.
I was worried that I might push them out while pooping but that's not likely to the point of nearly impossible. Not 100%, but nearly.
These things feel like a bad UTI and I have two of them. I got the ows, the zaps, the GOTTA GOs every few minutes. At least now I know that ALL of those pains are UTI pains, you know? I'd get some random pain sometimes and be like "what was that......" and now I know. It was UTI and pressure in my kidneys and the pain signals were traveling around the whole renal system. Because they do that.
I'm in a lot more pain now than I was with just the kidney stones. It is very, VERY atypical but my kidney stones and the pressure behind them don't hurt. Those nerves may have died off.
There's varying amounts of blood in my urine, sometimes very little, sometimes a lot. Sometimes there are clots. That's all normal but I had to ask as things were happening.
I get up every couple hours in the night and some times I don't make it to the toilet (I did all last night, so that is improving).
They also didn't warn me that just having the surgery itself might make me wet myself because the muscles hadn't all regained strength/how long it would take for the anesthesia to fully wear off.
I called the doctor's office and asked about that, too.
I'm glad I thought to have That Guy bring Depends but that's also something you'd think someone would like, mention. You know?
So that's what having stents has been like so far.
Feels like a bad UTI, though for some people they feel nothing. Need adult diapers for accidents. Need to be near a toilet at all times, and not going to get a hell of a lot of continuous sleep for a while.

I also think it's worth noting that I've had two male doctors blow me off about this and I think the only thing that went differently at the ER was that it was a female doctor.
The first male doctor said it was an anxiety attack.
The second male doctor said it was a viral stomach bug.
The female doctor listened to my symptoms and ordered a bunch of tests.

So, more personal blather about the whole situation.
While I was in the first ER I heard a man yelling and starting trouble in the waiting room. That Guy and Son got up and left as soon as the man was distracted by a security guy. I'd had told them to go home as soon as they dropped me off and I would text if I needed picked up. I knew I wasn't going home, though.

My neighbor was an elderly lady and they kept trying to figure out when she'd last pooped but she couldn't remember. Finally she called them in and was like I need to poop so they wrestled her up on a bed pan (she cried, she was in a lot of pain) and then left her alone with her curtain closed to poop. Right then the floor doctor walked in and was like HI MISS GERALDINE and whipped her curtain open to start talking to her.
...
I chewed him out. That's very atypical of me. Like, I laid into him for not asking if she was wanting to talk in that exact moment. And then I felt really bad until I realized he's probably had people a lot more angry at him than me considering a lot of the patients I could hear were elderly and some were confused, and I didn't feel bad anymore.

Since it's a university-run hospital there were sometimes pairs of nurses, and at one point a trainee came in to give me a dose of antibiotics through the IV but she hooked it into the wrong plug which depressurized the system and blood starting backing up the tube. As soon as she saw that she ran to get her trainer and they spent some time doing a full reset of the IV set up.
I wasn't worried or anything. It was my own blood and it could only go so far/only so much could be lost. At the most a cup since the saline bag was fresh and mostly full, still. So I was totally calm the whole time, which I'm sure helped.
I think the nurse in training was surprised when her trainer stepped out and I encouraged her instead of yelling at her. I praised her for not being too proud to get help when she noticed an issue, and for observing how to rectify the situation.

That Guy was like "Yesterday's nurses did NOT like me..." and I was like yeah I kind of told on you, but not out loud. He got put on the shit list FAST by staff. So for that I have a note in my account that I'm experiencing financial abuse and he exhibits controlling behavior. If there ever is a point where Son and I have to leave, I have the name of where to call. There's a facility in Next Town Over where the hospital is that will come and get us, and that would be the last time we see him.
I feel guilty for saying anything because he has paid for my existence for decades but he has also been abusive, just not physically.
They asked me if Son is safe at home alone with That Guy and I said "Safe, yes. Happy, no."
They also asked like how is Son and I said he seems to understand that his father's behavior isn't his fault but he still has had to endure it.
I also in the process learned how much money he makes (I didn't know before) and wow we should all certainly have insurance (he and Son might through his work but I have nothing and don't qualify for assistance while he claims me on his taxes as a dependent) and have had medical care all this time and there's no reason at all to be doing the whole -pointedly look at the food receipt every grocery trip, look up at the sky angrily, shake his head, shove it in his pocked, huff, and walk away- thing. Also explains why his work friends keep suggesting burger joints that end up costing like $80 for the whole family....
