I think it's really interesting how different people try to apply crossover logic to different matchups in this game, because Death Note has such clearly defined rules and so any wiggle room comes in in the rules (real or implied) of the other fictional setting.

Like, a character called Frog Detective is going to solve the case and catch the bad guy, probably in the most whimsical way possible! There's no question by the rules of that universe-- rules that are implied just by the character's name and design-- that Frog Detective will win. And so even thrown at a universe with a much more... 'realistic' vibe... Frog Detective did really well!

Similarly, any middle grade story/story with a tween protagonist, they're probably going to end up okay by the end, even if they don't catch the bad guy. The rules of, like, Percy Jackson, don't allow the protagonists to die. So Boy Detectives have a much higher survival rate than the laws of the Death Note setting might warrant on their own.

It's just really neat to see the different logic people use - are the rules of the other story important? Is it just the stated rules of that setting that apply ("this character is immortal/in a time loop"), or are the implicit rules of that genre important too?

((I think we ran a short poll on this a while ago, but it really is interesting to see how people pick and choose the rules of certain genres. I think I saw someone state that, in the case of the Wonder Pets, the Death Note would spontaneously warp into the Meanie Note because it's a bit... Shall we say... Gauche, to have an instant-execution weapon in a show about preschool class pets solving the problems of local small garden creatures.))

Dashboard osmosis: Danny Phantom.

Boy whose parents are ghosthunters dies and comes back as a ghost in a way that no one notices and he still has Relatable Teen Hijinks but also is a superhero now. Standard cartoon supporting cast of suspicious older sister, two friends [snarky goth girl, nerdy only-black-guy-in-the-show]. Protag has to hide his ghostliness from ghost-hating parents in what is accidentally an incredibly obvious trans allegory, something the asshole creator hates with the fury of ten thousand suns.

Also there's a vampire dude literally Vlad who isn't actually Danny's father but does have some vague Freudian thing going on.

Thank you for documenting all of the stuff in the website updates. I don't often have the spoons to do the kind of digging that a project like Welcome Home asks of the reader, and it's nice to be able to get the full experience.

I can always tell your art is yours because it's long and spindly and elegant, and often has a dunmer or a mad scientist. The linework is always fantastic, and everyone is Long and Gaunt.

When I think of your sim style the first thing I think of is very sweet eyes, regardless of shape- the doe eyes you put on SiYeon and the very sleepy eyes that Rabbitfriend has going on both look so full of love and joy somehow!

Also: cute yaeba teeth, smooth and cartoony without being freakishly airbrushed, *very* cute boys, soft and kind of scruffy sims? If that makes any sense?

Ehsuhrhd okay so the best developed ones are actually the ones I develop with @lieutenant-amuel! They're from a Slavic-inspired fantasy kingdom called Lachia and we actually did a whole post on them here (you can find everything about them through the #lachia tag on my blog, although there isn't all that much)

To sum them up quickly, we have Lyudmila, the ruler (knyaz) of Lachia, and her husband (knyaz consort, because of a loophole in the Lachian law) of common birth that was granted nobility, Stanislaw. There's of course Aleksandr, Lyudmila's best friend turned enemy, his son, the ambassador of Lachia, Michał and his fiance Maria :D

Originally we developed these characters for a fanfiction to Elena of Avalor, but right now their story is so developed it's really an original, of which the crossover takes only a small part of.

I fucking hate how there's a significant number of people on here who will genuinely insist that the only reason anyone ever becomes a bigot is because they were pushed into it by meanie SJWs (not in those exact words, only because they're passé). how dare you imply JK Rowling ever had a bigoted bone in her body, you're crazy, she's funding anti-trans groups because trans people were mean to her online. the only reason any feminists ever get radicalized into TERFdom is because they're rejected for asking simple questions about transness or believing in sex-based oppression. there's no such thing as anyone having hate in their heart, they must have been pushed into it by people from the group they hate being mean to them.

it's all the same fucking bottom line, namely that it's actually trans people's fault they're being targeted, it's trans people who need to be understanding and kind, and if you ever say anything mean or angry to some, it's on you when they become raging bigots, not anyone else's! this is a healthy way of thinking btw, we're the sane ones :))))

I mean besides the basic 'holy shit, a real actual author! follows me!' you just generally seem to take the time to have considered and compassionate opinions on things, even ones that really effect you emotionally? Also, occasionally get involved in discourse because you try to actually reach out to people in good faith, which I find deeply admirable if not always especially wise.
