✨Not so fun stuff (why I will be queuing this every other post for a bit)✨

Both of us work grueling jobs that we are severely struggling with. We are both disabled, trans, and Neurodivergent. I work 8-9 hour days on my feet constantly to the point I've developed a need for a cane just to be able to get by. I'm also AUDHD and have begun to experience symptoms of severe burnout but I cannot stop working retail. Currently the NHS has decided I'm too high functioning/not bad enough to qualify for CBT or other therapies for my PTSD as well, despite the fact I've recently undergone traumatic events and have had multiple breakdowns. So if I want to treat these things I have to pay for it out of pocket and I cannot afford that.

My husband is in a job that has him constantly exhausted from early days and late night shifts, and the environment is not only discriminatory towards trans people but also to those with mental health issues. But again he can't leave his job.

Both of us are at our limit and we need something to change.

He is the grandson of the great Ragnar Lothbrok and Queen Aslaug, as well as nephew of Igor the King of the Rus, from whom his second middle name comes from. He's the uncle of Ragnar Ivain, the son of his brother Vidar and his cousin Marlena. Through his mother's roots, Iwan carries Rus blood in him, giving him her natural arrogance and dignified demeanor, which he clearly displays. However, he also bears a striking resemblance to his father, having inherited his intelligence and talent for tactics, as well as the art of hiding his emotions beneath the surface. As the son of Ivar, he, like his father, has inherited something from Ragnar, which is reflected in him as Ragnar's more destructive side. Iwan is cunning, can be manipulative and does not care for feelings, which he rarely shows, just as he rarely shows his gentle side. He is direct and knows exactly how to get what he wants, as well as how to entice others to achieve his goals. He is a good speaker, eloquent and knows exactly what and how to say something. Iwan carries a lot of anger inside him, which is always bubbling to the surface and which he always tries to hold back so that it does not break out. While he has a distant relationship with his father, he has an even closer relationship with his mother, who knows how gentle her son is. He also has a close bond with his siblings, Vidar who understands his little brother very well and Edda who is her brother's gentleness and reason. Because he grew up with Ellinor, he has a connection with her that he doesn't have with anyone else. She is his calming influence and the gentle and loving nature that he needs, just like his father and uncle. Despite all his anger and the darkness within him, which is similar to that of his father, he also has a gentle side that loves his family more than anything and would do anything to protect each of them, but he rarely shows this to anyone because he believes that as the heir of the Lothbroks and future king of Norway, he cannot allow this kind of weakness. His faith in the gods and his fate dictates his path because he is completely convinced that the gods will show him his way. However, Iwan is more than he seems from the outside. There is a depth within him that is just waiting to come to the surface, but first the hard, unbending shell that surrounds the soft core of himself must be broken.

Days at the Morisaki Bookshop, by Satoshi Yagisawa

Genre: Contemporary fiction

Takako has never liked reading. That's why, after a romantic let-down, she isn't too thrilled about moving into the family's bookshop with her excentric uncle. In Jimbocho, a bookworm's dream, she hopes to mend her broken heart in peace, and, maybe, start anew.

A cosy story about connecting with people you kow and people you don't. There is a sequel, but I did enjoy this book more as a stand-alone.

The adventures of Amina al-Sirafi, by Shannon Chakraborty

Genre: Fantasy, historical fiction

Amina al-Sirafi repeats time and time again how she doesn't miss her old life. After all, she says, she's too old to cross the Indian Ocean as she used to, and she made too many enemies along the way as one of the most notorious pirates of her time. But when she's presented with an offer regarding her old crewmate, how could she say no?

This book reminded me of the stories I used to read when I was little, and even though I'm not too familiar with the tradition that inspired it, I never felt lost while reading.

The Blackwater saga, by Michael McDowell

Genre: Horror, southern gothic, hostorical fiction (ish)

A novel in six installments that follows the lives of the Caskeys for 50 years, with a supernatural twist. It all starts when a flood devastates the small town of Perdido, in Alabama. As Oscar and Bray try to find someone in the ruins of their hometown, they come across Ellinor, a young woman who has been trapped for several days in one of the rooms of the hotel. Or so she says.

I'm using the spanish covers because they are too beautiful not too. It had been a while since I've been so inmersed in a series like this. I don't even know what can I say that won't spoil anything.

Genre: Fantasy, historical fiction

With the birth of their son Chongba, the Zhu family is promised a brilliant life for him. They are mystified by his fate, the likes of which they only heard in legends. They aren't surprised, though, when they are told that their daughter is as unremarkable as any other girl. Which they ignore is her strong will and her desire to survive anything in her path, including taking a fake identity to make her own fate.

A dark and brutal story about desperate people doing everything in their power to see the next day. This was sold to me as a YA cute empowerment book; it is not. It's a war story about complicated and complex people.

The great swindle, by Pierre Lemaitre

Genre: Historical fiction

It's only a few days until the World Word I comes to an end, both side know it. That's why the attack planned by the lieutenant Pradelle is so surprising. Luckily for Albert Maillard, another man saves his life during the offensive, but the awful consequences of it will make him feel in debt with him forever. After his stay in the hospital, Édouard is left so desfigured that he refuses to meet his family again, but convinces Albert to help him to get his revenge against the french government.

A heist book set in the 1920s, basically. And the film adaptation was incredible too. Again, pretend like there is no sequel to it.

Robots in dangerous worlds

Pixel art for today based on videogame Musha Aleste – Full Metal Fighter Ellinor for game console Sega MegaDrive. One more shooter. Just like Zanak, about some planet, I remember it good from childhood. But here we have a robot as a main character, main role. But mainly it is the same. But some variations. Anyway, it is a robot. Some science fiction. Or here we have demons. So, robots and mystics.

And it is my drawing based on this theme. Mechanical robot. You are in a mechanical robot. Whole group of robots are landed at grey dark moon. Dark and dark red landscape is here, and it do not add some positive expectations about this planet. Group of security for explorers in a dangerous worlds already has a clash in this planet, clash with demon powers.  They are climb out from a rift. Unknown rift.  Continental rift, it was fixed by scientists. But it is only few data, too small information. One group of scientists already lost. Their defense group also lost.

Last thing they send – they send a strange video. And some aliens big flying creatures. They size as robot. Do not want to say they are flying aliens skulls, and even in fire. But video tape shows certain this thing.

You need to find a scientific station. To get information what happened. And take all the researches. As we can say, there is no survivors there.

Okay alright you know what time it iss. After I have escpaed from prison, it's time for anothe eve's weird question time: would you rather have an animated adaptation of your book or live action? Who would play or voice the protagnist (or all the character if you want to ramble. Please do)

Would you rather have an animated adaptation of your book or live-action?

Definitely animated. Not only because that would allow much more freedom in fully translating the magical and otherworldly aspects of my WIP's world, but also because - as an art student working on game animation and someone who is a general fan of the animated media - I find that it is important to support the making of new animations (and support it's creators as well). I would love either a 2D anime style for this hypothetical adaption (like the style of Castlevania or Legend of Vox Machina) or a textured mix of 3D and 2D styles (like Arcane or Star Wars: Clone Wars).

Who would play or voice the protagonist (or all the characters if you want to ramble. Please do.)?

I really don't know lmao. Sincerely, mostly because, when it comes to animation, what matters is the person's talent in voice acting, as looks and the acting itself don't factor into the equation quite as much.

But if I had to pick lmao, maybe Ashley Johnson as the voice of Raelen Ashiren, Hailee Steinfeld as the voice of Ellinor Dallantes, Neil Newborn as the voice of Zephyr Tellian, Elle Fanning as the voice of Luciya Anynth and Zachary Levi as the voice of Darian Caelestis. Gosh I dunno lol.
