It is so eternally funny to me that the Fatui have acquired every single gnosis peacefully... except for Venti.

Zhongli had his contract, Yae Miko traded Ei's, Nahida also traded hers and Ei's, and Neuvilette just gave that shit away. Like we're introduced to them as stealing all the Gnoses and then they drop that shit immediately.

Even worse, they steal it from Venti. Fucking Venti. Mr Had a 500 Year Nap. Mr Tells His City To Be Free and Fucks Off. Mr Steals Wine For Himself. That dude. That's the one it was necessary to dropkick.

Like Signora could have sauntered up with an apple in one hand and a bottle of wine in the other and Venti would have given up his gnosis faster than you can say 'Freedom'.

And even if we go with the theory that Venti knows much more than he let's on, he would've have probably given it away anyway considering what we know now about the third Descender and all.

Like Signora had zero need for the bitchslap-dropkick-combo but she needed the Fatui to have a girl boss reputation so she did anyway. Rate. We stan a proactive Queen ig.

“Maybe we should get you to a doctor.” Buck muses, wrapping the blanket over Eddie’s shoulders.

“I don’t need- I just closed my eyes for a second. I’m fine.” he grumbles, fumbling with the blanket too long to want to actually throw it off, but he does in the end – he’s cold and refuses to admit it, and he’d rather sit here and pretend he’s fine. He’s impossible.

“Eddie, that cough did not sound fine.” he points out. 

“Buck-” he sneezes, and then wraps the sleeves of his hoodie over his palms. Buck raises his eyebrow, and Eddie pointedly avoids his eyes, as he not-so-discreetly wipes his nose with a sleeve. 

“I bought tissues.” Buck reaches for the bag and digs out a box, then tries to give it to Eddie, who, instead of taking it, just levels him with a stare, as he sniffles loudly, and swipes a sleeve under his nose again. “Seriously? You’re gonna be gross and disgusting just to prove you’re not sick?” That’s a new level of stubborn Buck hasn’t seen from Eddie yet. He can’t believe this is the man his heart decided it wants. And that even while sick and gross and stubborn and ridiculous, a part of Buck is still endeared by him.

“I’m not.” Eddie insists, sounding so congested Buck swears he can feel it in his own sinuses. “Let me just finish my coffee, and then I-” another sneeze. “Have so much to do today.” he finishes, but at least this time he reaches for the tissues, looking anywhere but at Buck, cheeks red.

“Yeah, no, all you’re gonna do today is rest and take some medicine.” Buck says decisively, then takes the bag in his hand, and slowly starts walking to the kitchen. “Get comfortable, and I’ll just put this all away and be right back. I bought meds, tissues, and something to cook you some soup-” he starts listing off, getting louder the further he gets. “Oh, and stopped by the farmer’s market to get honey. Did you know that honey has antioxidant and antibacterial properties?” he asks excitedly, ready to tell Eddie every single thing he found in his quick research. Buck learned a long time ago that with Eddie he doesn’t need to hold back and can rant and ramble all he wants, and Eddie is happy to listen to him.

“Yeah?” Eddie yells back, voice hoarse and strained. Buck can hear the couch shift as Eddie gets comfortable, maybe even finally lays down. He knows Eddie won’t just give in and admit he’s sick, but this is a start. “Why don’t you tell me all about it?” he sounds genuinely interested, though also really tired. 

“I will, just a sec! I’ll make you some tea with lemon and honey, how’s that sound?” he asks, and gets a grunt in response, though he’s not sure if that’s an answer, or if Eddie’s just trying to suppress a cough in an attempt to hide that he’s sick, as if Buck didn’t already know. He chuckles to himself. He really has his work cut out for him today.

If I had a nickel for every time I was in a fandom where Christianity did not exist but somehow characters had functional Christian guilt, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice..

This is referring to Genshin where for some reason worship of Barbatos follows Christian conventions (nuns wearing habits, Christian style worship, cross iconography, ‘sins’ like alcoholism being punished- ironic with how Venti behaves, and other things I’ve probably forgot).

Barbara and Jean are so interesting to me, they both are religious (the only characters having crucifixes in their clothes and Barbara being the literal deaconess, both daughters of the Seneschal), and there is clear conflict between the restrictive practices of the Church compared to how Barbatos actually wants his people to have freedom (a nice nod to actual Christian doctrine vs practice). Also the implications of Jean actually meeting Barbatos are so interesting, I wish they were explored more fully.

The second (or first, I was in this fandom before) was the dream SMP, where Church Prime & the Holy Lands were a repeated part of the storyline, with worship and even exorcisms being included. This lead to a lot of C!Tommy designs with crucifixes or rosaries, because the Church prime also had Christian iconography (the cross, pews etc.).

Anyway I love franchises having faux Christian influences (even if they’re like some animes like evangelion and death note which literally only have them for aesthetic purposes which I find hilarious) especially if characters are portrayed with pseudo-Christian guilt, I will eat that sort of portrayal up every time.

If I could I'd cave their skull in and gnaw at their neck until I've chewed through it or slice its arms open and disembowel it or something, or they could do that to me too. It's a perfect mirror so i don't think it matters who survives this but i think that either way whoever "I" am will feel a little better

Just make sure we're isolated and there's a shower with fresh clothes because i might do a murder-suicide if my parents see me in that state and scold me about it because i'm not sure ìf i can take that type of chiding in that headspace

An interesting thought that occurred to me is that with Neuvillette's voicelines and as with discussion with @grislyintentions that while Neuvillette is predisposed to carrying a vast amount of disdain towards the Archons and most of what is associated with them, I also don't believe that such beliefs are set in stone with him.

There is so much love and compassion with Neuvillette and he is known for his impartiality or at least his attempt at making an attempt to be fair and impartial. His position as a judge is paramount to him (to the point that I believe that judgement and justice was likely as much a part of the hydro sovereign as was their role as the god of life).

Which is why when he's throwing around such measurements of time as "four hundred years" when he chooses to eventually meet the other archons, I feel like there might be a plan there. We know with how there's already somewhat of a ticking clock that's counting down to some large world changing events that such time is likely not going to be allotted for Neuvillette.

But it's a fun thought that in his mind, perhaps he means to spend an equal amount of time with the other archons, to get the measure of their being. After all, he spent four hundred or so years with Furina, it is only fair that he allows the rest of the archons that much time.

Zhongli has to be fascinated with Inna, like, he’s something Morax has never seen before, and he’s old he’s seen a lot but nothing like Inna. Not a failed god or a fallen god or even a god god, Inna’s caught in the transition, neither one or the other yet both at the same time. The dual natures should fight each other, shouldn’t they? The mortal and ascended parts should repulse or subsume each other but they don’t! It’s interesting. It’s strange. It’s… New.

Zhongli is Intrigued. Inna is not-a-god but he also isn’t exactly human. He’s stuck in between the two and Zhongli has seen gods of all types but he’s never seen someone stuck. He’s never seen someone clinging to their humanity as desperately as Inna does. Inna doesn’t want to be a god. He doesn’t want the power that comes with it. He wants nothing to do with it.

Zhongli thinks of his past and wonders if he had been a bit less power hungry and a bit more human if he would have made the same choice.

(For all his longing, Zhongli will never truly be mortal or human. Despite this he thinks he can understand Inna’s desire to remain within the confines of mortality.)
