YUKKI is horrified to lose his eyesight permanently. Not because of soccer(tho it does play a major part in it) but because of you. For the ama could you explain how it affected your muscle mass and also things like your jawline and how quickly those things changed for you? And Were there any changes in general that you weren't expecting or are less talked about?

my jawline and muscle mass are DEFINITELY different. im like 160kg (~350lbs) so obviously it looked a little different for me than other people but like. my shoulders are broader, my thighs and biceps are thicker, my forearms and calves are more defined. i look like i lift weights even tho i do fuckall all day LMAO

my jawline definitely changed first but ive been getting comments on my shoulders since i was around a year and a half on T so it happened pretty quickly

for things i didnt expect: when you first start T your body has to adjust to suddenly having a lot of testosterone in it and that manifests itself as secondary period symptoms that take a while to go away - mainly my face was really swollen for about 7 months and i was worried it was permanent lol. IT ISNT thank god but ppl dont really mention that despite how common it is so i was blindsided a bit

LAST NAME - what started this all and what i hope others picked up on was gojo calling geto by his last name, not his first: geto. even after everything geto did during jjk v0, gojo still calls geto 'suguru.' he's still 'suguru' to him. i wanted a scenario in which gojo would reject his first name - reject their past and their relationship. this whole comic idea sprung out of being unsatisfied with geto and gojo's canon relationship. personally, im not the happiest with how things were written in the story and feel like the author could've done some things differently. this isn't to say i don't like or enjoy what the author has written either. i just have mixed feelings.

KENJAKU - in case it wasn't clear, the door closing on page 14 depicts geto with stitches on his forehead - aka kenjaku. what that page is trying to convey is that the moment geto killed yuuta, the future where geto's body is used to box gojo ceased to exist. in this au, kenjaku's plan that we see in the canon timeline would never and will never work. by killing yuuta, geto crossed a line and permanently severed his relationship with gojo. if gojo wins here, gojo will dispose of the body properly. the panel after shows a closed door with the memory of who suguru was. the person who suguru used to be and the best years of gojo's life etc etc. but "broken" bc it's gojo truly realizing that's not who geto is anymore + the whole "severing relationship" thing. does this make sense.

what happens after the comic ends is up to interpretation though

GETO'S PLAN - i didnt focus a lot on the specifics of how this could've happened considering geto's plan changed in this au. how it happened isnt really important, you can come up with whatever you want. what i wanted to focus on, and what i hope people managed to pick up on is the situation itself - geto killing yuuta. sorry yuuta. i'll make it up to you.

i ended it here because it felt the best place, but here's some scrapped dialogue of a few seconds after: GETO: "… It was a necessary sacrifice, Sato-" GOJO: "don't you dare call me that" basically to emphasize the first name vs last name situation

GOJO N GETO - ive always felt uhhh. nitpicky, i guess. about the specifics of everything regarding gojo and geto. ive felt unsatisfied for a variety of reasons, and this was basically an idea that sprung out (a looong time ago) of a want for gojo to be angry at and feel more.. negative emotions, i guess, toward geto. i still do genuinely enjoy their canon relationship a lot tho. i enjoy the way they’re written together and individually, i just have different/multiple feelings about the same thing :)

RIKO AND YUUTA - erm there was a scrapped panel... you can find it on my blog if you're really curious but there was a panel of geto 'remembering' riko's dead body (a distorted memory, because the blood reflects yuuta's injuries). it's not necessarily that riko and yuuta are similar, it's that geto becomes a bit like toji in the end. just like toji, geto tries to kill a young teenager for the sake of his own goals. while toji's was selfish and geto's, in his own eyes, was for the greater good, there's still the similarity of killing a child. of stealing their future for their own goals. plus the fact that gojo killed both of them in a similar way.

TRUST - yeah i know the quote is in the context of the 2nd years fighting geto. still. gojo trusted geto to a large degree, despite everything he did. so. it's going here.

PG 4-6 - geto values and cares about sorcerers so so much. again, he was fine with trying to kill yuuta for his vision and all but i dont think he wouldn't feel some level of. conflicting emotions i guess. (i am very against the idea that geto wasn't... trying to kill yuuta? i don't really get that perspective at all. it'd make all of that meaningless imo. but this isn’t about that.) ok im done.

trying to explain to every single adult around me that we get way too much schoolwork is like talking to a wall

i understand that i go to technically a college prep school but truly with the amount of work i have even that isnt comprable. i have 8 hours of school then go home and have 8-10 hours of homework counting an hour of studying because i have at least 3 tests a week in various classes sometimes w/ only 1-2 days notice. its legit either be a genius, be a good student, or take care of ur mental health. i dont even have a job or play sports and im up till at least 12 doing schoolwork. and every single godamn adult in my life is like "u go to a good school tho!" "its college prep!" u wouldnt give 7 hours of homework to a 6th grader to "prepare" them for high school. literally all this teaches us is how to cram and how to bottle up stress. i mean really i havent like actually relaxed in years thanks to my school and its either this or a city public school w/ no funding. i dont want to sound ungrateful i know my school is great they just push us so hard that so many of us have just like accepted that wanting to kys is a normal thing. u could walk into the hallway and yell "IM GONNA SHOOT MYSELF" and no student (or probably teacher) would bat an eye. no one will even listen, ive brought it up w teachers, councilors, my parents everyone and no one will help the councilors even say "well make sure u do ur assignments on time! :3" when u tell them how insanely stressed school is making u. ive had to up my anxiety/antidepressant twice since starting high school just so i didnt legit off myself because of school. i had to be more medicated because of school. and no one is helping. it feels like im drowning sometimes. adults arent even concerned anymore. ive just accepted that my permanent state until im out of schooling is stressed. ive been saying it for years, other students have been saying it for years and all the adults just say were overreacting and that no one likes homework.

back at it again with the #planet m0nd02019 au characters. We got a father and his son, and a drone that can do a lot of tricks, except for speaking. more story below (and a Terrifying surprise art at the end)

Things to know about Pop & Cub:

Pop is the only Parent in town, caring for a single infant drone named Cub. Pop would go to the farthest planet in the solar system and back just to protect his only child. His wife died of an unknown cause. He is a Decent father if he is not easily distracted and uses better judgment. Being a parent on their planet is hard, but not as hard as one of his worst Incidents when he had to make a drastic decision.

Before that story, let's get to know his son better. Cub Is the youngest member in town. He likes to be a firefighter when he grows up. he enjoys video games and exploring wherever his dad goes. Mutch like Flippy and Splendid, he has an Active Solver that makes him survive even the biggest accidents that could usually kill him. Cub mostly uses his Solver to move around by spinning his propeller hat and to play with whatever he can get his "hands" on. there are some occasions where his powers have greater potential, but there was only one record where he lost control of his solver.

Pop usually likes downloading different stories to entertain his son with before bed, but one day he had found a USB that contained a Free "story" to download. Little did he know that it was a virus that would corrupt the solver, but it was too late. By the time it was morning, his son was acting strange. He hired Mime to take care of his son since he had plans to head out. while Mime checked on Cub in the kitchen, Petunia was also at his door. She was selling cookies and was hoping Cub and Pop would like some too. Both of them head to the kitchen, only to find his possessed son, mutated into some sort of Tentacle Demon that Tore Mime's head off his body. it grabbed Petunia, but she slipped out of its grasp. Both hid from the possessed child, while Pop called Serial Designation L for help. Sadly, Petunia was found and Was Mauled to death. L finally arrived with the patch and fought the demonic entity. During the fight, Pop saw his cub's face and saw that he was in pain. He came to realize that his son was aware but had no control. Afraid that his son would have to live with the memories of what he had done, Pop had to make his toughest decision. After L removed the thing from Cub with the patch, Pop used that chance To put his son out. Cub came back through regeneration, but he couldn't remember what had happened. Pop had a hard time moving on from that incident, but eventually, has has gotten better. Because of the planet's Curse, everyone who was disassembled is brought to life with no recollection of the incident, except for the witnesses. What happened to the USB with the virus, we may never know. It was never seen since Pop had gotten rid of it and removed memories of where he hid the USB. Hopefully, nobody has to use that Virus ever again.

Things to know about Mime:

Mime Is Considered a great artist on the planet. With the Permanently damaged speech synthesis, he can only communicate by other means like signing, visor text, sound effects, and Mime stuff. He enjoys making people around him smile, whenever he is in a workplace or in public. there are times where he isnt lucky tho, especially when it comes to actually comunicating. for example, he would be the most quietest victim to kill without alerting other drones in the group. that, and he cant warn others about the danger in time unless they payed attention to what he is saying. Being the quiet one is rather difficult.

& I think ppl assume racialization in fictional narratives similar to our world is a one way street or somehow only a matter of characters du colorre as if it isnt a own unique racialization process in ‘becoming’ white. as if the minor characters in the rr period finn o’shea [along w tommeh & fenwick] dont show how the scots-irish became ‘white’ in the states. as if the show isnt begging u to get in the biases of dan the man’s perspective bc louis wants to make dan an observer + enmesh him into his story. self hypnosis n recognition in that thru the other oss. thinking of the anons i got who thought daniel was the writer’s mouthpiece or that show could ‘stop being about race’ in lestat’s upcoming season as if france didnt have ‘Black codes’ as if france didnt have slave colonies + laws on the books opposing interracial relations domestically during lestat’s mortal lifetime much less when he becomes the vampire. like. sum sum in how white characters r just allowed to be “people” w neutral values n other evils being retroactively enforced on them even tho the show almost slaps u w a boiling hot towel on how all these characters r relics benefitting off gross amounts of wealth+ how theyre all playing permanent catch up w too much (or not enough of) life to bear under their shoulders

so. the reason fionna world is Like It Is despite nominally being a human au is bc i decided that in ooo, humans are the only people with daemons! everyone else has Something Else, but that something else isnt actually a daemon (this bit is still fuzzy lol since it would just be more bg in anything i write).

so that means the only characters in adventure time who have/had a daemon are finn (tossing around the name honey for her?? shes unsettled but mostly dogs bc they grew up with dogs lol), marceline (she lost her daemon upon becoming a vampire, gets her back at the end of stakes. do not ask me what she is settled as idk as of now lol), and simon (lost her upon becoming ice king, he does Not get her back. i think its fun if she is a penguin bc that makes ice king surrounding himself w penguins super tragic. he knows something is gone but cannot articulate what.)

also i guess people like susan strong and the humans on the human island but shhhh i dont have super strong ideas for them lol.

ALL THAT TO SAY. since fionnaworld was created by prismo (gonna be real idk what his deal is but he is obviously His Own Thing and as a deity type deal he probably is granted w 'can see dust' powers and thus has no idea what daemons are all about) and lives in ice kings/later simons head (one who doesnt know about daemons and one who is mourning the permanent loss of his own) when fionna and cake were "created" finn jake and finn's daemon were mashed into two characters, who are! human and daemon.

everyone else either never had a daemon in normal ooo (ex. pb) or didnt have them at the time fionnaworld was created and thus they werent carried over (ex. marceline.) of everyone tho probably marshall WOULD know the most, this is why he has a line in my fic where he's like, do you know what i'd do for a weird cat? as a sort of hint that he SHOULD have a daemon, but. alas.

uhhh. where am i going with this.

OH RIGHT so yeah basically when fionnaworld became de-magicked it took with it a lot of people's points of connection--everyone ends up way more isolated than they were. since simon is mourning his own daemon that translates to daemons just Not Existing, and so fionna and cake are very much isolated from each other. they dont have the words for their relationship. all fionna knows is she needs cake with her, and vice versa.

cake IS still a daemon, but without that framework shes stuck in the 'normal cat' role even though she does a lot of noncatlike things, n her and fionna are very very good still at sorta knowing what the other is thinking and reacting accordingly. the people closest to fionna (so, really just marshall and gary lol) have SOME idea of what is up but if asked its more leftover instinct than like, the ability to actually explain any of this. fionna and cake try to interact w the world as a human-daemon pair but that doesnt work when the world has no fucking idea what that is.

uh. that. probably answers some question!! i think the plot of fionna and cake itself is MOSTLY the same...really fionna and cake just find out there is a word for who they are to each other n get that relationship reestablished which isnt a far cry from canon. i really like the stuff they do with betty/simon so i wouldnt want to change that, though i imagine there is a bit of simon mourning his lost daemon too--idk i feel like you could tie those feelings in if you were to write a full adaptation but i!! dont think enough changes to do that so i wont be lol.

i mostly just wanted to do episode one bc again. daemon in a world that doesnt know wtf a daemon is. truly the funniest and most tragic thing in the world.

OKAY im gonna talk about the thing in mask of the rose thats been consuming my thoughts. For people who might know the scene I'm talking about, it's something Ivy tells you, and the game keeps giving you options to stop the conversation because it is, genuinely, pretty disturbing. its got horror elements that have been in FL before, but never in this particular way, and as i said in my last post, seeing the content warnings will probably give away the broad strokes. im gonna put them in the tags, and hopefully if you have them filtered, then you wont see this at all? idk. i genuinely am sorry if you see this and didnt want to, but i have things i wanted to say about it

okay so in mask of the rose, Ivy gets really into doing Hallowmas stuff, accepting peoples confessions and secrets, and occasionally doing stuff to their memories (i think there was something in Zubmariner where theres a port made up of peoples regrets?? it might be connected to that, but i never played zumbariner. it might also be something Midnighter adjacent. or it might be its own thing!! i just dont know)

Ivy can tell you about a confession she received, which is incredibly disturbing. To make it quick: a womans child died, and times being hard as they are, she ate it. But then David returned from the dead fully intact, and everyone learned that death isnt permanent. Ivy had to remove this womans memory of what she'd done

like i said, while FL as a franchise has included (maybe too much?) cannibalism, and certainly a decent amount of child death, it's never been... like this before. it was disturbing in a way nothing else ever had been in any of the games

...so is it bad to say that i kinda liked it?

cannibalism has come up in fallen london often, but its usually kind of flippant about it imo. like, it's a thing that debauched rich people do sometimes, or starving zailors do, or deranged cultsits do, but not people like US. random women in london dont get that desperate!!! until they do.

and when cannibalism appears in the games, its usually written so... idk distantly? that i really never feel much of anything for it, except almost bored. most of the time when it shows up, im like "wow cannibalism. again. how original 🙄 pretty sure thats the only horrific twist fbg even knows exists". i dont think it's bad, the way its usually written. it's not like i even WANT ever lurid detail, and i think it would be pretty bad for me and for the writers to do that. but the side effect is that, for me personally anyway, it never really has the weight i think they probably want it to

but in mask of the rose? its a visual novel, so youre not given that same kind of distance you get in fallen london. it affected me in a way that other, similar horrific moments very much did not. I mean, i played all of seeking and i just thought it was boring for the most part!!!!

i also think it really gets at the horror of "you cant die in the neath". i mean, this woman did something horrible and taboo out of desperation, and then had to learn that it was also entirely unnecessary. she could have just waited! how could she possibly live with herself, having done this? but also she cant die! what option is there for her, other than to excise the memory entirely?

and also i think it emphasizes why cannibalism would be especially taboo and especially horrific in the neath. if death is rarely permanent, i would think defiling someones corpse would be seen as especially abhorrent

anyway. it was a moment of pure horror and i kind of liked that it was in the game. its a little tonally out of step with the rest of motr, tho, lol. but it kinda makes me wish theyd leaned more in on the horror of the fall. you as the player character want for very little, because you always have food and a place to sleep, and the Masters are (allegedly) organizing and distributing resources. but also... i mean clearly thats not benefitting everyone, and i think thats genuinely really interesting

.......... although i sure would like it if i could stop thinking about that scene lol. the game kept being like "you dont have to read this" and i did not listen. ain't that just the way!!!!

I get your point about the end being bad but I personally disagree. Theres different ways to look at it.

Also the ending doesn't nesscaraily have to be a positive for the main character, a lot of endings go tragic and thats the reality of situations, you go in there impulsively wanting to end your abuser and sometimes that doesn't go in your favour and thats what happened. A lot of cTommys decision was rushed which is why he chose to understand him rather than focus on hating him - one way lead to getting some sort of closure in the form of finding out one of the questiosn he had wanted to know forever. (he no longer would of been wondering why he was being targetted and constantly blaming himself, and why cdream was doing this, or what did ctommy do wrong, he had those questions answered) Since abuse victims can get closure when finding out why their abuser had done what they did, similar case with cTommy. And c!tommy chose to cope with his trauma in a different way- rather than resulting to violence and killing c!dream (also may be too similar to disc finale) or by leaving permanently, he chose understanding (even though he was still rushing), but that humane side to c!tommy fits him so well, and showed the best part but also most flawed part of his character. Even if narratively, its tragic.

I think that c!tommy by getting that closure did find a way to move on from that pain of what cdream did to him because not only did he defeat c!Dream and break him to a vunlerable state but he also had c!dream sympathizing with him and knowing that it wasnt just manipulation again. And the chance of c!dream hurting him if the nuke didnt go off would of been small based on how he was acting. I think that c!tommy getting that answer to majority of his questions had helped him a lot.

c!tommys character has always been one to sympathize with those that have hurt him the most, its his core trait and the ending showed how kind he is and considerate even when he shouldn't be. Its just who he is. But yes, i do agree that the part at the end where his last words was regret towards cdream was bad.- It was still in character for him. At least c!dream still died feeling betrayed, terrified and lonely. I still feel as tho despite c!tommy dying full of regret, he still died heroically as he was under the impression that the nuke only would kill the 3 of them not the whole server, he may of sorta sympathized and understood cdream in that moment, but he still succeeded in the goal he wanted to do to begin with and in that way won. The ending isnt perfect to me, but those are just my reasons for liking it.

Listen, you're fine to enjoy it. I don't mind. If you felt it worked it's cool and Im glad you were able to appreciate some of it. But I cannot see it as anything other than badly written, both for the choices made and in the execution of it. (Like how the limbo clip was chopping wood and how inelegantly Tommy had to manually swap to it, breaking immersion.)

Tommy choosing to try and understand Dream as a good end would work a lot better if he hadn't tried and failed to do it every time he interacted with Dream.

Remember how he thought Dream was his friend in exile and then post-exile had to struggle over whether he was his friend or not?

Remember the disc finale where Dream had defeated them and Tommy asked for answers and Dream explained his attachments theory?

Remember when Tommy visited Dream in the prison multiple times asking for answers on why Dream did what he did?

All this time Tommy spent trying to understand Dream and the answer was that there's no satisfying justification for why someone would cause another such suffering. Not all stories have a neat answer and that's why Tommy told Dream how he wasn't good for him and he needed to move on.

So then this ending pops up a year later and suggests that oh Tommy just needed to try to understand! That's not a good plot beat! He doesn't owe Dream any understanding and he didn't even do it naturally. He was killed and the powers that be forced him to see Dream's perspective against his will! Only to be revived and now he's found his answers bringing peace of mind. Tommy, the victim, just had to understand his abuser's perspective, that's all!

This trait of Tommy trying to understand those who hurt him is not a healthy trait so seeing it depicted like this feels wrong. It's not that all of this is out of character but it doesn't work for an ending arc where there should be closure. And again, a lot of it was forced on him.

And him getting closure feels meaningless anyway when it's followed by his death! And the death of everyone just to make the sacrifice extra senseless. Yes Tommy didn't think everyone would die but they did so its irrelevant. Tommy thinking he died heroically or whatever is him living a lie essentially.

And yeah, there's potential for it to be a tragic ending. But it was not framed as a tragic ending. It was framed optimistically and that matters.

Please know that I like Tommy as a writer generally and I'm very fond of his DSMP story. But this was not his best work. It doesn't fit with how I see Tommy or his story. That's probably partly because of how I've followed it for so long and so closely. I think there are many reasons this was not the gem I hoped for, like how it was written to lead into a second series and written after a long hiatus.

Still thank you for sharing your thoughts all the same. If those scenes struck a chord with you in a way they couldn't for me, then I'm glad. I like analysing stories in a sort of meta way. I like to think about the themes stories explore and how such ideas are executed and all that affects how I enjoy stories.
