"comes out of the coffin with a hot tea"
I HAVE AN IDEA! Stupid one... but still one! Another one of Desmond's being thrown into the past, but this time the apple has read too much about fainting Victorian women and made him in some sort sickly (We can make it as a backlash to almost dying and his burned arm). I mean.... what can i say! I just love the duality of a character that in one moments seems like a breeze can knock them down and in the next they win against you with only a stick in hand!
"sips some tea"
That would also made a good cover for Desmond! If he was trying to not put himself under the radar of his ancestors of course. Who would believe that the most sickly man in -put a city name here- is able to clime roofs, fight off the guards and also win without a scratch? Maybe Connor? Malik? Who knows! :D
"throws the coffin out the window and leaves through the door "
(stares the window for a moment… well, okay. I mean… I have no idea how a coffin could fit thru that but okay)
I mean… if you really want Desmond to have some kind of handicap of the ‘sickly’ kind, may I suggest the setup for “The Villainess's Days Are Numbered!” where the main character’s HP keeps getting depleted? This means... even taking one step gives him a -1HP penalty and stressful times (or any time he overexerts himself) gives him a double HP reduction penalty (which means that -1HP turns to -2HP). Oh, and his default HP is only 1210 and he can gain a max HP reduction if the circumstances call for it)... maybe even go down as far as 200 max HP, hhhhmmm?
This means we have the ‘joy’ of making Desmond have to maintain his HP XD
So Desmond has to be bedridden to keep his HP up before he does any ‘stunts’.
It would be funny if we place him in a very awkward position too.
For example…
Third Crusades? He’s one of Ṣalāḥ ad-Dīn’s children. Hell, he could be the son who took over Ḥalab so we have an excuse to place him during the time of Altaïr’s Chronicles.
Renaissance Italy? Make him the ‘child’ of one of the many clergymen against Rodrigo becoming pope to give an excuse for Ezio to ‘know’ of him. Bonus points? Make him a relative of Cardinal Ascanio Sforza
American Revolution? One of the Schuyler children (Philip Schuyler has a lot but you can pick one of the Schuyler sisters if you want to make this a Hamilton reference or if you just want Desmond to be part of all that drama in general XD)
The main point is… Desmond has to maintain his sickly body, all the while making plans how to screw up the timelines without anyone noticing it.

Which assassin will legit win in an arm wrestling competition?
TL;DR - this is not an exact ranking, I may change my mind, I might not, I’m still unsure about this, this got so long for no reason
1. Eivor
2. Connor
3. Alexios/Kass
This is a serious discussion!
I WILL FOCUS ON PHYSICAL STRENGTH ONLY
I am also pulling away from the modern au slightly but this is still obviously for my au
Alexios and Kassandra are going to be one because we don’t know much about individual strength
Let’s begin!
Descriptions of strength
Altaïr has canonically never been hit, every time you, as the player, get hit he loses synchronisation. This means that he never had been hit throughout the course of the whole game as losing synchronisation means doing smth that Altaïr hasn’t done (like when Edward goes into an area that’s locked for the memory). Whilst this is more of his manoeuvrability rather than his strength, it’s easy to say that he is still pretty strong compared to the rest. In modern he’d be an active exerciser
Despite losing a whole arm, Malik was still one of the best assassins in the Levantine Brotherhood. We know this because he was a high ranking assassin and even after the incident was able to fight. Like Altaïr, Malik abilities exceed his strength but he definitely is a stronger assassin. Not too active with exercising but does his fair share of it, less on muscles
Ezio, despite his sharp skills, is one of the weaker assassins. Not that he’s completely weak but he uses swiftness and agility more than strength. He has been shot, hurt etc multiple times. I think it’s a bit clear why Ezio isn’t closer to the top. Like Malik doesn’t do so much exercising strength but more stamina etc
Connor is a complete killing machine, fighting dirty, bloody yet quickly is his style. He has a flipping TOMAHAWK like come on. Just the size and shape of him alone can automatically put him in the top 3. He is incredibly strong and ac3 proves it very well. He’s not afraid to fight dirty, I mean he punches his dad in the dick. Connor is so brutal in a match, his hand to hand combat alone proves that, and his dual-wielding skills? He took on a fucking army too! You’d lying if you said he ain’t one of the strongest. weight lifting, circuit training, running, everything bro he’s got it all down
Edward a dirty fighter, he’s definitely stronger than most. He’s not afraid to kick ass and get bloody. This man has been hurt, wounded and punctured like a tire throughout his game but he definitely has strength. He’s near the top too. focus’ more on muscles and less on general exercise (he does run sometimes)
Arno... he’s similar to Ezio, whilst not using his strength he definitely uses agility etc not the best skill to win arm-wrestling though. Does more yoga and running than anything but not too often
Jacob is more similar to Edward but he’s no match for Connor. Jacob might play dirty but Connor is dirtier and stronger by far. Jacob vs Edward would be a good match (Edward would most likely win though). He’s gotten into loads of fights and might occasionally lift some weights
Evie much like Arno stealth is her strongest suit so I don’t see her near the top of the list. sorry I do love her though. Exercises like Ezio and Malik
Bayek is another beast, him vs Connor would be a really tough match. In the game, he fights big threatening things all the time, crocodiles, gods, gladiators. He’s much more efficient at long range too. He’s not as brutal as Connor I’d say. Definitely one of the stronger assassins. Closer to exercising like Edward and maybe Connor
Both Alexios and Kassandra are brutal as fuck, I mean they’re spartan warriors... They definitely have the strength and endurance, a good match for Connor and Bayek. (sorry Edward is losing against them though) Closer to Edward’s heavy weight lifting exercise but maintains some other forms.
Eivor and their dual-wielding axes will definitely shake up the competition. In the game they dismember enemies?! Connor doesn’t go that far in his brutality but I definitely think that this match would be the best to watch. But (ac Valhalla spoilers) Eivor is an isu hybrid and has taken on fights with a knife stabbed in them. They’re also a Viking? Like Connor’s exercising but less strict.
Now let’s narrow this down!
Last few contenders:
Connor, Eivor, Alexios/Kassandra and Bayek
Brutality makes things difficult here, Bayek is the least brutal person out of the 4 so he’s likely to lose. Connor could just about beat the Eagle bearer because he must be a very competitive person and would go all out. Also if this was a challenge told in advance, he’d probably work out more heavily just for it. Eivor is difficult though because they’re the most brutal out of everyone and I can see them being very difficult for Connor to beat. Because we are talking about hand to hand combat (almost) Connor would be between 1 and 2, like he’s fought an army of soldiers and won. He’s repeatedly taken down so many heavily-guarded convoys. Alone! But in modern au, he’s one to exercise a lot and keep his body in shape very seriously. I can see the eagle bearer, eivor and bayek do the same but Connor is the most strict, I’d say. Eivor just happens to be stronger naturally.
Extra: Who beats who?
[Name - name of people who they beat]
Altaïr - Malik (a very close call though), Ezio, Arno, Jacob(?), Evie
Malik - Ezio, Arno, Evie
Ezio - Arno, Evie, Jacob
Edward - Altaïr, Malik, Ezio, Arno, Jacob, Evie
Arno - ...
Jacob - Malik, Arno
Evie - Jacob, Arno (she is badass af tho she’s strong too)

Assasin’s Creed III Remaster review - Spoilers! - Long post!
I wanted to keep this spoiler free, but as this game is such a narrative experience, I don't think I'll be able to. I'll try to keep them at minimum, but be warned: there are major spoilers ahead. By the way, this game is almost a decade old, so y'all had plenty of time to get spoiled beforehand. And if you're reading this, it's because you like this game and you probably know how it ends.
Review under the cut because this is way too long.
Tumblr media
As always, I express my feelings and impressions regarding my experience with a game – I write it because I like writing reviews instead of, I don't know, recording a video for YouTube. I'm not a YouTuber and I feel safer behind a keyboard where people don't point out about my weird accent (the accent every Hispanic person has when they speak English). Since the pandemic started, I found refuge and comfort in AC games, with Syndicate being my first contact with the franchise, and Unity solidifying my love for it. I found strength and weaknesses in all the installments I've played, which are almost all of them by now (excluding the first AC with Altaïr, the new saga with Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla, and Rogue). I've also platinumed three of those games I've played, and I'm on my way to platinum this one, so I think I can speak from a deep fan standpoint by now.
Since Syndicate, I studied from up close each of the protagonists of the mainline games. I felt drawn to Arno because he looked like one of my oc's (and his girlfriend looked like my oc's girlfriend as well); I wanted to learn about Ezio because he's a fan favorite; I wasn't at all impressed by Edward but ended up growing fond of him; I respect Altaïr for what he means to the Brotherhood; but I can safely say, that I haven't felt as attracted to a main AC protagonist as I felt with Connor.
From the moment I knew he was a native American (such a bold choice, it seemed for me) I felt instant attraction – but not the, idk, physical (he's a cutie I give it to you), but because of what he could bring about as a main character. A perspective we don't usually get to see, and personally, as I'm not American, a point of view to educate me on a different side of history. I wanted to see what they could do with him as the star of the game, I wanted to play with him and understand how someone like him could rise up and become a protagonist of such a well known and beloved saga of games. I applaud this decision from Ubisoft, whether they did it because they wanted to look progressive or not, I don't care, I'll always cherish that the protagonist of a famous videogame is a Mohawk. And with the American Revolution as the main stage, no less. Such an important scenario to strengthen the virtue of independence, patriotism and love for a country, going hand in hand with a character that represents America even more than the Founding Fathers.
(Also I'm a Hamilton Fan Trademark so I couldn't stop singing random parts of songs while playing this game, it was a nightmare every time Lafayette appeared on screen because I JUST HAD TO start mumbling Guns and Ships)
Tumblr media
I lunged blindly into this game – I'd only spoiled myself the very ending because I played Black Flag before – so imagine my surprise when I first saw Haytham, Connor's father, as the main protagonist.
So here's the deal. Let's clear this out of the way.
I thoroughly enjoyed the game. It was what I expected and more.
But.
Yes, there's always a but in AC games, you know the drill.
As I kept playing with Haytham, charming though he was, I kept thinking to myself "ok but when does Connor come into play". I also already knew Haytham was a Templar, so the end of the first few sequences didn't catch me by surprise – actually, what caught me by surprise was that there was no mention of Assassins or Templars during the "prologue" with Haytham, instead you're left to believe they're all Assassins until he prays to the Father of Understanding and you realize with a gasp "oH NoO!".
You play with Haytham the first three sequences. One of these have the most memories out all of the sequences more or less. This whole thing can take up to three to five hours depending on how much time you wish to put into exploring or completing the optional objectives. And still no signs of Connor.
Connor does come eventually – as a child – by sequence 4. It's not until the end of sequence 5 that you get to play as (almost) adult Assassin Connor, so maybe five or six or even seven hours into the game and you're barely starting.
I know what they did here. I understand. And this is what I meant when I said they were going for a 'narrative experience'. To make you play as Haytham before, to lure you into a false sense of safety believing he was an Assassin working for a just cause, to make you feel invested in his relationship with Ziio – only to discover he's one of the bad guys, that will eventually give birth to our true hero of the game – it sediments everything perfectly. It tells you everything you need to know to understand these characters and their motivations. I can see where they're going and some of it can be quite predictable, but it was done right. On the narrative aspect at least.
I got used to Haytham by the time we switch to Connor, we're used to his cloak and his three pointed hat – his accent, his sassiness, his everything. You grow fond of him and you think, hey, maybe it isn't so bad to not play as Connor, I can roll with this – until the sudden change happens. The game completed its purpose: let you know and care for Haytham, only to strip him away from your hands and bring you the real protagonist with an interesting background that didn't need to be told, but it was instead shown to us players. What a better way to tell a story.
But the problem is – most of Haytham's memories are fillers. For starters, the very first memory where you appear in the opera house (similar to that one at the end of Black Flag… mmm) serves as a tutorial for climbing and killing with the hidden blade. Then the whole memory on the ship to Boston – completely expendable and removable, the story doesn't suffer from it. All the memories used with Haytham as tutorials – how to shield from an open line of fire, how to use ranged weapons, how to sneak and find stores and viewpoints, how to use horses and walk on snow, fricking Ben Franklin – everything, everything could've blended in better. You could still tell the story you wanted in only one sequence playing with Haytham, and end it the way it does end in sequence 3, without avoiding any important detail to frame Connor's backstory as well – but instead, this part with Haytham does feel like it overstays its welcome, and by the end you're just hoping it ends soon, it drags on for too long, and there's no real sense of thread pulling the strings together here, everything just kind of 'happens'.
But the never-ending prologue doesn't end there (badam tum tsss), because Connor still isn't an Assassin. Connor is not Connor actually, as I had been led to believe prior to playing this game: his real name is Ratonhnhaké:ton, which I wish it was used more often than it was. Ratonhnhaké:ton is like four or five years old when you first play with him, and his village is assaulted by what we assume are Charles Lee's men, a Templar and companion to Haytham. Ratonhnhaké:ton swears revenge upon these putrid British invaders and he grows up resenting the death of his mother, who died in the fire provoked by these Templars.
Not even knowing what a Templar or an Assassin is, Ratonhnhaké:ton is sent by one of "the spirit guides" (actually, Juno, one of the Precursor people) to seek the Brotherhood. When he's around 14, he sets out of his village into the wide world and finds Achilles, who will become his Assassin mentor – that is, after completing a set of tasks that yet again seem to go on forever. Ratonhnhaké:ton turns into Connor to cover his true origins, a name I thought it was random, but by the end I realized how wrong I was.
It isn't until Connor turns 17 that he becomes a fully-fledged Assassin – and you might think, well, Ezio became an Assassin at the same age – yes, but it didn't take him five sequences to reach there. I can't believe I'm defending Ezio.
It's not that I didn't enjoy playing as Connor when he was a kid, no, and I also don't think that part of the game should be skipped since it shows his people, family and friends – maybe comprised, yes, into only one sequence – the real problem here is the fact that first you need to play what could be considered the longest prologue ever, even longer than Kingdom Hearts 2's one, and you're teased with grasping the real protagonist but no, because there's still more 'prologue' to cover with Connor's rise to the Brotherhood. The real, real story, begins in sequence 6, and even then you still have a lot of tutorials to listen from the NPC on duty.
And if you do the maths – you're halfway through the game – halfway! – and you're just starting. The game has twelve sequences and the meat of the plot is on the last six. Then, why did I play all the previous parts?
For the 'narrative experience' thing I talked about. They wanted to lay the groundwork for a better, compelling storytelling, and I can appreciate it, but not when it hinders the pace of the game this way.
Tumblr media
That is, certainly, my biggest issue with the game. The pace. If you're going to give me such a slow start, introducing characters non-stop, and only give me resolutions, discoveries and action packed sequences on the later half, then the story isn't balanced at all – I understand that at some points you need to slow down and sink in what's going on; you can't also introduce ten characters in one cutscene because that's just bad story telling – but the memories of this game are clearly not well organized and weren't thought with the player in mind, but rather with the story in mind. To think that the first mission you do as a full Assassin is to receive more and more tutorials on how the fast travel points work and how you can lower your notoriety (as far as gameplay goes in this mission, it's only walking around at a slug's pace to follow the NPC giving you instructions) it does feel like a slap in the face after all the things and hours and effort you put into it to finally reaching this point (which, I remind you, it's by sequence six!).
It's at this point where I can't blame people for not following through with this game. I have plenty of friends who abandoned it even before reaching this part. And I found myself having trouble to return to it: I only wanted to go back to it because I knew I had to like Connor, I knew he wouldn't disappoint me as a character.
Boy, was I RIGHT!
Now, to be honest, I may be biased, like I said: I was instantly attracted to Connor due to his backstory and I wished to see what he could bring to the table. And I have to say, he didn't disappoint me at all.
Maybe you know or maybe you don't, but up until this point, my fave Assassin was Arno: he showed weaknesses and he suffered the consequences of his actions, to the point of no return, that rendered him vulnerable and a mere human being. And I love me a good vulnerable character who knows their limits and strives to get out of that pit. I love me a good, compelling character that has growth and agency and isn't made of cardboard or has a one-dimensional personality. And Connor delivered on this front.
Connor might very well be my new fave Assassin. I'm sorry, Arno. I still love you babe. But Connor… I never found myself rooting for a character more than I did with him. I wanted him to succeed, I wanted his people to be saved, I wanted to see his ideals become a reality – and he's got so much agency, he's a storm when he comes into a scene, his naivety mixed with the brutality of his killings, the simplicity of his reasonings – he's an idealist, and he fights for it, whether we like it or not, and that devotion to his own creed is at least respectable, let alone admirable. He's never downplayed for his upbringing or his ethnicity, he works among the most notorious people as if he was another one of them, he's well respected in his community, he shows kindness and always offers a helping hand to those in need, but never doubts to plunge his blade into this opponent's throats, fearlessly, he doesn't mind telling George Friking Washington to shut the hell up and not follow him because he'll kill him (there's such a pleasure in a native reprimanding enslaver Washington) – he's, simply put, a great hero.
I've seen many complain that he's boring, or that the actor who played him, Noah Watts, delivered lines in an emotionless way – the only thing that could make him 'boring' is the fact that he's not a lady's man like Ezio was, and to my eyes that's a plus. He speaks slowly and modulates well in English because that's not his mother tongue, and I can appreciate when a company puts these little details, like his way of speaking changing throughout the game as he gained more confidence with this new language he was learning to use. As non-English native speaker, I certainly can commune with the feeling of adapting my tongue and my brain to a new language, and I also know that I speak weirdly to those who are native, maybe I don't have the same intonations, and maybe I sound emotionless as well, who knows, but I can't think of a better portrayal of a non-English character speaking English in videogames than this one. They remained faithful to his culture, and even though I noticed Noah didn't speak Mohawk as fluently as English, I can still feel pleased with the fact that Connor speaks in his mother tongue in all of the scenes he interacts with Mohawks (that's something they did better here than in Unity, where not a single character has even a French accent. I switched the language spoken to French in my subsequent playthroughs, much to my disappointment, because I really liked the Canadian actors). I know subtitles may seem threatening to some, but I wish they did this more often: deliver more lines in the original language of each of the protagonists. It shows care and respect. And I think this game excels at respect.
Tumblr media
So, yes, I liked Ratonhnhaké:ton, as you can see. Maybe a lot. Too much.
I also really, really enjoyed his relationship with Haytham.
When Haytham appears back in to the fray it's when the plot picks up. Their interactions are gold: I love the rivalry, I love that Haytham is constantly testing his son, and I love the tiny bits that may show or make us believe that Haytham has a soft spot for him – I love that we never truly know what's going on through Haytham's mind, why does he do the things he does – but what I enjoyed the most about these two fighting together is the fact that they represent opposing forces, a clash of interest, and they bring back the concept of the blurred line between the Templars and the Assassins, their different methods. Haytham represents the collectiveness of the Templars, through him we learn of what they truly uphold as right and just, and behind some of his reasonings you can see sense and understanding – you comprehend his goals, you get to know your enemy, your antagonist, which is something, for instance, the Ezio trilogy lacks (because Templars bad bad pium pium die Templar bad guy) and Unity and Rogue tried to do but ultimately ended wasting its potential. I never understood Templars more than I did through Haytham, and sometimes I found myself nodding at some of his statement, like 'hey… huh… he's not that wrong about this…'. But still, we're led to believe that the good guys, the Assassins, are never wrong, so we pull through with Connor – only to realize that yes, Haytham was right in many aspects, and yes, Haytham has lied to us and he needs to be stopped.
It's here when my love for Connor reached its ultimate stage: when he denies both his father (Templars) and Washington (for whom the Assassins were working). It's here where you see the true agency of this character. It's not black or white, as Ezio's games were; it's not that he was expelled against his will from the Brotherhood like in Unity; it's not that because of a clash of interest now he resorted to the Templars, like in Rogue; no, it's the philosophy of the very first AC game with Altaïr: Templars and Assassins are one and the same, they only differ in their methods, and when Connor comes to this realization, his struggle is visible and he puts his people first. Like always.
He remains true to his personality. He's grown, he's seen the truth, but he must make a decision. And after all, we're here because we want to see him protect his people. That's his real main driving force and we root for him because of it.
Now, I've spoken a lot about our main character. But, what about the secondary ones?
Achilles, Connor's mentor, hides more than he's willing to share – but slowly his backstory unfolds. In his homestead, Davenport, you're able to build a community with different townsfolk that you can invite to live with you through special sidequests, which combine plot and gameplay seamlessly. Through the homestead missions, you get to know Achilles and the other inhabitants and you see them thrive and grow into a tight-knit community close as family. I daresay that these missions were my favorite out of the whole game, and seeing the town grow not only in NPC's walking around but also in sounds, steps, people working and laughing and dogs barking and kids playing, gave me all the fuzzy and cozy feelings of a warm blanket in winter. Most of Connor's innocence and kindness is shown through these missions, and there are also some really good jewels hidden there, like the quest that asks you to guide the pigs back inside – damn. This game gave me very good laughs.
On a gameplay level, this game is light years away from its predecessors – the parkour alone has been revamped and revitalized, making it more fluid. Free running now isn't a chore anymore. Now you can hunt, which is a great part of Connor's backstory and culture, so it's good to see they blend gameplay with plot like this. There's a crafting system that took me ages to understand, but thankfully I got the hang of it. The combat is pretty much the same (counter kills always for the win) and the difficulty remains quite easy, as the games that came before. I wasn't looking for a challenge so I'm fine with it. Now, if you're looking for a challenge… the optional objectives got it covered for you. Because, good lord, they made these stupid main missions so much unnecessarily HARDER and IMPOSSIBLE to complete without having three or four ragequits and sometimes you have to restart up to ten times. To be honest, I never found myself more enraged with the optional objectives than I was with these missions, and I thought Unity's optional constraints were stupid ass complicated, I was wrong. This game. Must be. The most. Annoying. Piece of videogame. To platinum.
Apart from the 'oh I want to die optional objectives' thing, you have naval missions – which, yes, you guessed it, take place on a ship – I guess they were testing the mechanics for a (not so far away) future pirate game, because I can see the seeds of what later Black Flag came to be. It's serviceable and it fulfills its purpose, but as I don't like ships much, I left it on hold for the endgame.
If you don’t dig the naval missions nor the main missions, there’s plenty to do in this game: you have the aforementioned homstead missions, the club challenges (which can take... quite a while), the underground fast travel points (a nice change of pace, though you can easily grow tired of them), the liberation missions, which will see you help liberate a city from Templar control and recruiting a new Assassin apprentice, much like in Brotherhood and Revelations; taking Forts, hunting like there’s no tomorrow, courier, delivering items and message delivery missions, a ton of collectibles, etc, etc.
You might realize I stopped talking about the plot by the time I reached sequence 6 – yes, it's because I'm a little upset with it.
I said that we're here because we want to see Connor protect his people and triumph against the Templars. Yes. We receive that, yes. Amidst. A thousand. History. Lessons.
In my Ezio's Collection review, I complained that in Revelations we were shoved history in the face – I hadn't still finished AC3, because then I would've mentioned something about it. Connor comes across all the important figures of the American Revolution in such a contrived way – he acts as a guardian angel of this revolution, aiding each of the emblematic characters that took part in. I can roll with it in my suspension of disbelief (how come this one person was present at every major event, you know), what I can't roll with is the fact that he was present at the Declaration of Independence – this is some Ken Follett level of bs of probability of something happening to a character. Besides, it's always latent though never truly explicitly addressed, but Connor's skintone was something that should've deterred him from even speaking to someone like Washington – let alone, be present at the moment they signed the Declaration. He does mention at some point that freedom and this new nation was only for white men, and that he acknowledged that slaves deserved as much freedom as everyone else was fighting for; I'm glad he addressed the elephant in the room, though I'm also glad they didn't make the whole thing about it, because normalizing a character like this as a main protagonist was the main idea, I think, when they chose a Mohawk to represent the American Revolution. Still, that someone like him was able to achieve all he achieved in a plot like this, it only means he has some kind of Main Protagonist Shield, otherwise I doubt this could've served as a realistic story for anyone else in the same situation as him. It's, uh, a little hard to believe, that's all. Whereas I can see Arno existing within the historical frame of the French Revolution, without being the one that let the guillotine fall on King Louis' head, this one was a little more far-fetched.
Tumblr media
I haven't touched upon the Desmond part – the present day of this game is more, uh… present than ever. And I loved it! I loved it because it delved deep into the Precursor's lore, and also it fleshed out Desmond's relationship with his father, and we actually do shit with Desmond – though that part of the Brazilian stadium, huh, for a company that paid too much attention and consulted with experts on the Mohawks, they clearly left Brazil out of their investigations. I forgive them, they tried.
The music… didn't have as much personality as other installments, it was kind of there, and right now I can't evoke a single theme except for the main menu one, so there you go, it's quite forgettable for my taste, sadly.
I forgot to mention that: this game looks gorgeous. I played the Remastered version of the game, and sometimes it looked like it was done for the PS4 instead of being a remaster (it does look better than Black Flag which came afterwards!). Lighting is magical, the trees breathe life into the screen, the water effects are crystal and realistic; many times I felt like was horse-riding in a Last of Us game (yes, I just compared Ubisoft to Naughty Dog, don't hit me). Davenport Homestead is my favorite location, now more than ever, because it's not only beautiful, but it also means home.
Tumblr media
This game accompanied me in a very important moment of my life: I sprained my ankle and I spent a week in bed recovering, while also pondering about my job and the prospects of my future; I took many decisions while playing regarding what I want for my life. I cried at the end because I realized I had become too attached to the characters and because I was so sad to see Connor keep losing things. It all comes full circle by the end. It's a very mature ending, maybe a little unfulfilling, but reality is often disappointing and not everything needs a happily ever after.
All in all, my major complaint goes to the structure of the game and the poor organization they gave to it (AND THE OPTIONAL OBJECTIVES DAAJKSDAD). But Connor as a character in itself made it all worthwhile for me. And I'll always cherish him. I know he won't resonate with everyone, but he resonated with me.

A Vikingr Saga for the Ages
Ever since the first game in the franchise, I was enraptured by the idea of stalking my prey on the rooftops of Renaissance Italy and then leaping down - slaying them with a flourish. I didn’t know it yet but the marriage between history and stealthy parkour had me hooked from the very first trailer for Assassin’s Creed. When the series pivoted towards mythology and set further in history than ever before, I eagerly followed. From Ptolemaic Egypt to Ancient Greece. It should come as no surprise that I devoured, then, that I devoured as much of the world that I could in the latest entry: Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla. And after clocking in just under 150 hours, there is much for me to unpack in Ubisoft’s latest entry into the Assassin’s Creed franchise. That, and a fierce desire to finally start watching Vikings.
Tumblr media
When I initially booted up Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla (AC:V), I will admit that I was a little disappointed with the control scheme. Once again, Ubisoft had made it a confusing mess with trigger buttons instead of face buttons used to attack. Since I had just come from Spider-Man: Miles Morales, it took a good long while for me to adjust. Several hours later, after fumbling through my first battle with a lost drengr (I actually dumbed down the difficulty a litte), I finally managed to find my footing and was on my way to England to scrape out a place for the Raven Clan.
As for stealth...well, the less said about it the better. I never found it effective. It was much easier to smash my way through, axe in hand (or greatsword) and lay waste to their paltry resistance with a mixture of heavy attacks and parrying. I also, hardly used the bow (one of my favourite weapons to being stealthy in Origins and Odyssey).
The story in AC: V is a little messy. Most of it is done through a separate arcs for each territory Eivor ventures through: from East Anglia to Snotinghamscire, with little to link it all together except the main character. Were it not for the very loose story threat surrounding Sigurd and the conquering of Mercia to establish a firm foothold in this new land of England, many of the storylines could be regarded as standalone adventures in Eivor’s epic saga of conquest.
That doesn’t, of course, mean it’s bad. Merely disjointed. Particularly when I went from Jorvik and its Yule Tide celebrations to Glowecestrescire that was right in the midst of Samhain right after each other. Did I go back in time? Or did almost an entire year fly past Eivor with none the wiser?
Still, even though they were mostly standalone storylines, I still very much liked all the characters I met along the way. My favourites were the earnest Hunwald, noble Ceolbert (his death was almost as bad as all the horse deaths I’ve encountered in video games) and fun-loving Twydwr (particularly when he and Eivor were drunk, and messing with the local chickens) On the Norse side, I very much enjoyed the banter between Eivor and her childhood friend Vili. But the one that I admisted most was Soma. She was the jarlskona of Grantebridgescire - the first place I explored after landing in England. And one, I hoped I could romance to some degree. Alas, my hopes were dashed on that end.
What I did find a little intriguing were how Sigurd and Eivor were sages for the Isus: Odin and Tyr. And in their little Raven Clan, revealed much later, was also Freyr. It seemed strange that so many of the reincarnated Isu were all incredibly close at hand.
Tumblr media
In this title, Ubisoft was able to focus again a little more on their complex lore that was seeded throughout the first few games. And while some questions were answered, it still left plenty of mysteries of where the games go from here - particularly from a modern-day standpoint. Though I am reluctant to see the franchise go, it does feel like Ubisoft is finally coming to a close on the grand story that they are trying to tell. What the end result turns out to be is still to be determined, but more emphasis needs to be focused on the central conflict.
For a game that still has Assassin’s Creed in the title, Eivor’s connection with the order and their enemies seemed very tangential. While I killed many Order of the Ancient members, there was no sense of personal investiture, like, say with Ezio’s quest. The only ones that I felt motivated to put an end to were Fulke and Kjotve the Cruel. Unfortunately, all the build-up in the first scenes with Eivor were quickly resolves within the first two to three hours of the game, and Fulke’s arc was all but over in the half-way point.
I suppose the main reason for my discontent with the narrative of AC: V is the fact that there is no Big Bad for Eivor and her Raven Clan. Yes, Aelfred of Wessex is a ‘villain’ that hinders our protagonist, but he never felt like an oppressive threat.
Basim’s reveal, somewhat late in the game, was also a little underwhelming. Yes, he did look an awful lot like Loki, but how did he manage to get to Norway? He hadn’t accompanied Sigurd and Eivor. Did he travel with a third party? How did he know that Sigurd and Eivor would be in the ruins of an Isu temple? So many questions, so little time.
Tumblr media
Then there was the whole ‘Heir of Memories’ and the fact that Layla seemed so worn. After finishing Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, my last impression of her was receiving the Staff of Hermes Trismegistus from Kassandra and being hopeful for the future. Fast forward to AC: V and Layla is tired. The world is on the edge of destruction once again and she’s now paired up with married couple: Rebecca Crane and Shaun Hastings (the two last appearing undercover in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag).
On a side note, why are their adventures all done in the comics or some other media? AND WHY DO I NOT HAVE ACCESS TO ANY OF THIS?
And because I didn’t play the expansions for Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, I knew too little regarding the modern-day struggles with Layla. In fact, I basically resorted to the Assassin’s Creed wiki to bring me up to date. Honestly, DLC should never be story-related. Or, if it is, should be more tangential rather than major. It’s a terrible practice that quite a few publishers do, and which leaves players such as myself playing catch-up.
The only one that landed with any oomph (at least for me) were the Asgard and Jotunheim arcs. These were connected and told the story of Havi as he struggled to find a way to avert his fate. The final battle also proved challenging and climactic. A far cry from the ‘endings’ that the main story provided. In all honesty, I probably should have left that to last while completing everything else first. But the temptation was too great and I was vastly overlevelled.
Tumblr media
I also enjoyed the play on the Norse myths. The only downside with the Builder was that there was no horse to help him. And so, there was no sexy mare Loki to tempt away the Builder’s horse - giving birth to Sleipnir. The other stuff, though, was clever. And I liked the references made to other myths, such as fighting against ‘old age’ and Thrym’s disastrous marriage to ‘Thor dressed as Freyr.’
What was also a little odd, at least for me, was that there was no definitive part where the credits rolled. Much like in Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey and Assassin’s Creedy: Origins. Personally, I hate it. Credits give closure and tell gamers that the narrative that they were pursuing has come to an end. It lets me reflect on everything that I experienced and is an indication that I can finally set the controller down.
Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla also came with its fair share of bugs and glitches. Many, after reading up on them, made me frightened to continue. One, in particular, took me a while to figure out an alternative to: entering Lunden. I didn’t help that the more I read, the more I worried about encountering a game-breaking bug. Thankfully, most were simply treasure hoards not loading, late texture pop-ins that were a little frightening, and the drunk Eivor every time I loaded up the game.
Despite its many faults, I still very much enjoyed my time roaming around England, Vinland and Norway as I worked to build up Eivor’s reputation and to ensure her name would be sung for ages to come. Like a true Vikingr, I played copious amounts of orlog, drank mead and tore up the battlefield to create a home for my people.
Even better, at Gunnar’s wedding, I managed to finally woo Randvi (who I abstained from bedding down with earlier on in the game)! That, perhaps, elevated the game for me and I can be happy knowing that all my hard work paid off.
(As an additional aside, I also love how many of the side quests or ‘mysteries’ in AC: Valhalla made references to popular culture. From Winnie the Pooh to Alice in Wonderland. AND ROBIN HOOD! THE NPC CALLED LITTLE JOHN HAD ME GUFFAWING!)

Fanfiction Asks
I was tagged by @a-shakespearean-in-paris! Thank you :)
Name: Julia (my username isn’t very original, lol)
Top 5 Fandoms Written:
Dragon Age! I’ve written for all three games, but some Origins stuff that’s very old has been lost to the ether
I have an ancient Skyrim fic kicking around on my ff.net account, but that’s the only other fandom I’ve ever written for lol
Top 5 Fandoms You Want To Write For/More:
I have a Witcher fanfic idea kicking around in my head (it’s pinned on a sticky note to my corkboard), but I haven’t thought too much about it. I do love the world and would love to do some writing for it, once I finsh reading the last book (I’ve got around 100 pages left).
Elder Scrolls could be fun to mess around with a bit more, especially as I’ve gotten into ESO recently.
I’d LOVE to write some Assassin’s Creed Ezio-era fanfic. There are so many fascinating holes that Ubisoft has left to fill (mostly unintentionally, I think) and I just love him as a character.
Stories You Wish More People Knew About: Honestly, I’m glad to have any level of engagement for my stories, they’re all just fun to write, so anyone who gets a bit of fun out of it along with me makes me really happy :) that being said, my main-ish longfic, The Lone Wolf’s Call, would be my pick for this, although the more I read in the fandom the more I realize a Fenris-POV, post-canon, epic-length, slow to update fic which is full of angst and has no meaningful shipping is uhh... not everyone’s cup of tea haha! All I can say is that I’m rather proud of where the plot is going and I’m having a great time worldbuilding so if anyone is interested in that I’ll be glad for the click :)
Ship(s) Written The Most: Fenris x F!Hawke. Nothing else even comes close, there’s no contest. I just love the romance so much. I write a bit of Pavellan, Solavellan, and Bethistair occasionally, but FenHawke is really my main one.
Character(s) Written The Most: Fenris for sure. I love writing from his perspective and how he interacts with the world, his takes on him, his humour. After that, it’s my OC Felissa Hawke, but I think (?) I write her less than I do Fenris.
How Many OCs Do You Have: Felissa Hawke is my most developed one, the one that I write the most, who romanced Fenris and is a purple (dumbass) Hawke. After that, I have Aeneris Lavellan, who romanced Solas, but I haven’t written a whole lot of her. I also have a whole lot of relatively well-characterized OCs from TLWC: Agents of Fen’Harel like Aronhala’an, Ladarawen, Taralen, Seri... the innkeep that he becomes friend with, Maresi... I really like coming up with non-POV OCs, more than coming up with POV OCs, I guess!
How Many Series Do You Have: The Lone Wolf’s Call is one, which has a companion fic, Taking Root, and then I have a series for all my DADWC prompts. Who knows, though, maybe someday I’ll develop Love All into a Badminton AU Cinematic Universe.
What Do You Do With Fics You’re No Longer Interested In?: They just... chill un-updated, haha. I try to remember that when writing becomes a chore, it defeats the purpose for me, which is stress relief and escapism (put your hand up if your writing productivity has gone way up during the pandemic for this very reason...). So I don’t mind just leaving them for awhile until I feel like writing again.
Coming Soon: Love All chapter 3. I’m almost done it and I like to post as soon as it’s out of my brain. TLWC chapter 9 is about halfway-ish done, and it’s already a monster (7k words) so I might just split it up where it feels logical into two chapters and make it 9 & 10.
Line From A WIP: "Later, after Hawke has showered and gotten ready for bed, she’s embarrassed to admit how many times she rolls over in bed to check her phone on her bedside table before finally falling asleep.” You can guess who she’s waiting for a text from. LOL
Do You Accept Prompts?: Yes! Anytime, but especially most Fridays for DADWC. My prompt list is here, if anyone is interested.
How Do You Feel About Kudos?: Big fan!! Thank you to anyone who’s ever given kudos on any of my little stories, it makes me very happy!!
Do You Read Fic As Well?: Quite a lot, yes! For awhile it was the only thing I was reading. Trying to get back into published fiction as of late as well, but the majority of what I read on a day-to-day basis is fic, haha.
tagging forth (but only if you want to!): @luzial, @nug-juggler, @noire-pandora, @in-arlathan, @midnightprelude!!

Huntress III
Tumblr media
[ I ]  [ II ]  [ III ]  [ IV ]
(Y/n) groggily arose from her bed, the sunlight of a late morning pouring in through the leaded windows, covering her in a blanket of diamond-shaped shadows. Beside her was the book which she had fallen asleep while reading. The thick pillar candle resting on the bedside had melted down three inches, wax pouring down its sides and melting in little dribbles, some of it pooling on the wood of the table.
Licking her thumb and index finger, (Y/n) quickly squeezed the wick to extinguish the flame that had been dancing all night, illuminating the room while she had slept.
She rubbed her (e/c) eyes and pushed back the locks of hair that had escaped her twin faux braids. Sitting up and dangling her legs off the side of the bed, she reached back to begin unweaving her hair, letting the river of (h/c) locks cascade behind her. She dropped all the little pins and bands onto the crumpled crimson sheets under her as she took her hair and began weaving it into dutch braids and winding it around the back of her neck, creating a crown from her own hair.
She stood to discard her clothes, folding them and placing them neatly into the trunk at the end of the bed before pulling out a black pair of trousers, a white blouse and some arm guards.
(Y/n) slid the blouse on first. It had billowing sleeves and turned to lace over the top of her chest, the woven pattern climbing up high on her neck, secured with a bow at her nape. Next, she tugged on the leg-hugging black trousers, tucking the blouse in as she tied up the front of the trousers, pulling the crisscrossing cords into a tight double bow. The (e/c)-eyed female then used her teeth to tighten her ebony arm guards. They made the lace cuffs of the blouse stand out more while the rest of the shirt puffed out against her upper arms. She then pulled on her boots and slung a bag over her shoulder.
Her eyes drifted back to the book.
In her profession, the knew better than to doubt the powers which she had read about on those pages. A previous civilisation, more advanced than our own, sounded ridiculous yet. . . The vampire wouldn't have taken the pages if he didn't believe in it himself or if he hadn't been exposed to one of those 'Pieces of Eden' at some point in his immortal life.
She picked it up and tossed it into her bag. She knew that she couldn't ask the Doge about it because she had stolen it from him and it was something which he was clearly trying to cover up. Her mind wandered for answers. Who in Venice would be about to help her decipher the coded parts of the text without the Doge knowing? The culture was changing, there were so many beautiful and bright minds nowadays.
An alchemist perhaps? A poet? An artist? An engineer? Of course! She knew exactly who to find as she turned the key in the lock and ran out of the mansion in search of the man whom she had just recalled. All she had was a name but with enough asking, she would be able to find him.
♰♰♰
It was a few hours later and (Y/n) found herself rather hungry, having left her room in the Doge's mansion without anything to eat. But eventually, she found herself knocking on the sheltered door of a studio. She pummelled her first insistently against the thick wood until a fairly young boy opened it.
"Hello, I'm looking for Leonardo? Da Vinci?" She peeked inside, attempting to get a better look into the building in order to spot the man himself.
"What for?" The young boy, clearly an apprentice, asked.
"I was told that he could help me to decode an old book that I found." She replied.
"Send her in!" A man called from somewhere inside. The young boy stood aside to allow (Y/n) to enter.
When she walked inside, there were odd contraptions hanging from the ceiling. Architectural drawings were sprawled out across tables and pinned to walls. There were half-finished paintings on easels and jars of murky paint water on stools. Sketches of anatomy were all pinned to the wall above a desk with very detailed charcoal drawings on it. Though, the windows were covered by sheets and it was oddly dark, candles lighting the place.
She was met by a blonde man with blue eyes who was rather short and wore a large hat.
But he wasn't the only person in the room.
Instantly, (Y/n) knew what this other man was. Whether he was the vampire she was searching for or a much more discreet one whom she didn't know of, she was unsure.
He was gorgeous. Flawless olive skin, glimmering brown eyes like polished smokey quartz, dark hair that shone healthily and was tied back. His odd white and red robes hugged his muscular arms, leading you to the conclusion that the rest of his body was very toned too.
When their eyes met, there was a mutual understanding that she knew what he was and he knew that she was the witch hunter.
He seemed caught off guard for a moment before his brows furrowed as he examined her, eyes widening with surprise when he picked up something about her — the last thing he ever would have expected from such a woman.
"Hello Leonardo," she turned to the artist, "My name's (Y/n) (L/n). I know that you don't know me but I've been told that you could help me decipher this book and I could really do with some help. It's for a case I'm working on and it would mean a lot to me. I can pay you however much you want." It was a risk to work right in front of the creature whom she needed to hunt down but she simply had to understand what was going on.
"Leonardo," Ezio spoke up, "Could you leave us alone for a moment please?"
The artist shot a glance of confusion in the direction of his friend. What was he playing at? Was it to do with the brotherhood? Or was he simply trying to charm the woman? Either way, he nodded and made his way to the garden.
(Y/n)'s hand snaked to the dagger at her hip. She was poorly prepared for a vampire attack, she had not been expecting him to be there — in broad daylight no less!
"You're in over your head." The vampire spoke simply, "I have work I need to do and I don't want you getting in the way. You don't need to die in this. Leave now. Go home and find work elsewhere." He truly did want peace. After all, his goal was to stop the unnecessary killing. He didn't want to kill her but he couldn't have her in the way of his plans either.
"You're right. There are people in this world who don't have to get caught in the crossfire. There are graves belonging to the people who didn't have to die." She lunged towards him and unsheathed her blade, though it was quickly deflected with his hidden blade which shot out from his sleeve. The point of her blade was poised at his chest, hovering over his heart. "And those people will only be avenged once blood has been paid for with blood." Her (e/c) eyes were a maelstrom of anguish and rage, tearing apart cliffs and commanding tidal waves.
"Who hurt you?" The vampire spoke with a gentle voice. But she knew better than to trust the creature's charms. She pulled back and held her dagger in a tight grip, ready to strike at the best moment.
"You. Your kind. Every single one of you." Her brows hung low over her eyes and she shook with adrenaline. "And I won't stop. Not until the price has been paid."
The olive-skinned man let out a sigh as his blade retracted and he raised a hand into the air. (Y/n) suddenly found herself unable to move, frozen in place. The panic was evident on her face.
"Don't worry. I won't hurt you." He spoke in a soothing tone, his voice was like thick honey and blackberries with a sweet, fruity wine. But she knew that all those luxuries in his tone were laced with cantarella.
"You haven't hypnotised me. Why can't I move?"
"It's my unique ability — I can control living things' ability to move. I thought I could control objects at first but it turned out that what I can control is muscle tissue. I could make you do whatever I wanted right now but I think I need you to stay still so that you don't try to kill me." There was a hint of humour in his tone at the end. "I want to understand you. Tell me: why is a witch hunting the supernatural?" His hand caressed the side of her face, brushing the stray lock of hair behind her ear as her body was moved to a more neutral position where she was not poised with a dagger in her clutch.
"Lower your voice!" She hissed. She scrunched her eyes shut as he ran a hand down the artery of her neck. She didn't feel safe. He said that he needed her out of the way earlier and he could very well just drink her blood there and have it over with.
She had never encountered a vampire with such a dangerous ability before. Fire and reading thoughts were worrisome, yes, but to control another person's body? That was deadly on an entirely new level. At the back of her mind, she willed for a spirit to protect her, to wrap its arms around her and repel the vampire who caressed her cheek ever so softly. But no spirit nor fae rushed to her aid.
"There's no need for that." He spoke up, knowing full well what she was trying to do, "Even they know that I won't hurt you." He retracted this hand to let it fall to his side. "Who was taken from you? Why do you blame my kind? Why must this blood price be paid?"
Silence.
"(Y/n), come on, carissima, I won't let you go until I have answers. Are you a solitary witch?"
"I wasn't always solitary." She replied, her walls fracturing, the thought of finally being able to speak too irresistible, "I. . . I lost my sisters. All twelve." His lips parted in sorrow and he reached up to brush a tear that rolled down her cheek. The witch hunter would have pushed his hand away if only she had control over her body. Ezio knew what witches meant by 'sisters'.
"Your coven. . . I know what that's like. I watched my father and brothers be hanged. They didn't deserve it either, they were innocents. My father fought for freedom and my brothers were still boys. I was still a boy. . ." His natural charms were working on her, luring her into safety without him even needing to try.
"I watched them burn and I hid. I was the only one who made it out and I watched every single one of them go up in flames." A sob shook her chest, "And it's the vampires' fault! If they had only kept away from the town then witchcraft would not have been suspected! We never hurt the people! Never! And they turned on us all because a vampire had taken to killing men in the village! They were all innocent! I was innocent!" A long silence followed. ". . . They didn't need to die. . ."
She felt herself crumple to the floor, Ezio no longer needing to control her into their unspoken truce. Instead, he crouched down beside her and held her as she cried. She cried out all of the pain that she had pent up over six years until she dissolved to a hiccuping mess.
All the while, Ezio ran his hand up and down her back and let her press her face into his shoulder. Every part of her screamed to get away from him and yet. . .
She had never felt so right.
No one - no one - had given her any affection in years; no one could hear her story lest she be burned too; no one had held her and told her it was ok and that she didn't need to fight anymore; no one had touched her in so long and, gods, she was so touch-starved that it made her light up and feel alive, like a warm blanket of magma was slipping over her (s/t) skin that had been encased in a glacier for far too long.
She had kept such intense emotions secret for so many years. They were never spoken aloud, never put to paper. Perhaps it was because she was so close to the end of this long journey that she had put herself on. Perhaps she was just so vulnerable in that respect that she fell right into the arms of the creature who she swore she would kill.
Ezio's hand cradled the back of her neck while she calmed down, fingers caressing her silky (h/c) hair while she gripped onto his robes. He hadn't expected it to be quite this easy, hadn't expected their views to be quite so aligned. His lips pressed against the side of her head where her hairline began, pointed canines running over the skin there as his lips went to hover over her ear.
"We're a lot more alike than you think." He whispered, "I want to stop people from dying in other people's battles just as much as you do. I want freedom for people like you — how frustrating must it be to be human and told you're not? To be made to think you're the supernatural because you're gifted? To fear execution for merely existing?" She sniffled and nuzzled her head into his shoulder where his robes were now tear-stained.
"But if we both want to get what we want, you have to stop helping the Doge. He is a Templar: a man who will stop at nothing for absolute control, slavery of the human race and for freedom of will to be stripped from each and every individual. I am an Assassin: a man who protects freedom, no matter how chaotic it may seem. People like you and I will disappear if the Templars get their way. People like your sisters will die for a cause that they do not know of. People like my family will be killed for standing up for what's right. They will all be killed without a second thought."
(Y/n), beginning to quickly pile up her cold walls again, drew back from him, moving to sit on the floor a little distance from him instead.
"How do I know you're telling the truth?" She narrowed her eyes at him, eyeing up all the various weapons that were strapped all over his body.
"Because if I truly wanted you dead, I would have just killed you. You are a witch, no? Why not consult your cards and your spirits then decide?" She thought over his story once more.
"If you don't want innocents to die then why did you kill Elizabetta?" She interrogated, what she knew didn't seem to match with what he was telling her.
"She was a Templar also. Did they take down the red cross in her room before you arrived or not?"
"Red cross? Is that the insignia of the Templars?" She furrowed her brows, getting a much clearer view of what was at play.
"Yes. The one of the assassins is the symbol on my belt." (Y/n) found her eyes wandering down at this, seeing what Lucia had described as an arrow.
"So. . . What happens if I go back to the Doge and I interrogate him about all this?" She pressed.
"Most likely: he'd kill you. They don't like their secrets getting out." Ezio explained.
"And how. . . How do I know I'm safe with you?" She pressed, leaning forwards slightly.
"Because I see so much of myself in you. We're like-minded people, (Y/n). We want freedom, to feel safe in this world and to know that we won't be enslaved or killed for our differences. I know that justice is important to you and in the world the Templars want, justice will cease to exist." He paused, "You're tired of travelling and killing and not having a home, I can tell. You're tired of feeling like you shouldn't have been the one to survive and you have to pay for that privilege with blood. You can rest now. Come with me and you'll have everything you want and so much more." He was so close.
He couldn't tell if he was manipulating her anymore. When she walked in the room, he expected to have to jump into action and fight for his life, to reveal himself to his friend and his friend's apprentices who stood by outside. But when he sensed what she truly was — a witch —, he knew that there was so much more to her cold reputation.
She looked up at him with big glassy eyes, shimmering and dancing with tears that were just about to overspill.
"I just want my life back." She whispered, face crumpling in pain.
"I can't give you your old life back but I can make you a new one. One with a home and no more guilt. One where you can sleep knowing your people will never be wronged again."
She bit down on her lip as she thought over the tough decision. How did he know exactly what she wanted? Exactly what to say? Why had she opened up to a creature that she despised? She stopped thinking about it. All she wanted was an easy life and someone to care for her.
She looked up and nodded her head.
"What do I need to do?"

A Teacher’s Affaire|| Literature Teacher!Ezio Auditore x Student!Reader || Part I
Tumblr media
Summary: The senior’s are dealing with a new Literature teacher. Both of your passions for Classical literature and history seem to bring you closer. The sweet sin of falling for each other doesn’t get spoiled by the fact that he is your teacher and that there is a quite shocking age gap.
Disclaimer: Ezio’s age in revelations is normally 50 year’s old but i’ll change it to 40 to make it a little more comfortable. (I am laughing, as if falling in love with a 40 year old isn’t quite insane. but never the less, it’s Ezio, so we’ll deal with it ;) )
Warnings: If you are sensitive about topics wich include lovers wih an age gap, then I advice you to scroll further. There will be no sexual things in this chapter, but there will be in the next one. So I have warned you beforehand.
***
‘Finally!’ Elise exclaimed enthousiastically. ‘We are seniors (Y/N)! Seniors! Do you know what that means?’ Her flaming cognac colored hair dancing on her shoulders as she shook you drastically, as if trying to carve the words into your soul.
‘The privilege of Prom?’ You asked, a gust of wind leaving your lips mixed with a small laughter. ‘Okay, besides prom,’ She said. ‘This is our last year at this cursed school (Y/N).’ You sighed. You didn’t want to deal with the responsibility of College and University yet. And besides, you made a lot of memories at this school. Your first kiss, which was sloppy and ended up in you having a swollen lip because he bit a tiny bit too hard because of the exitement. You pressed your eyes shut and squeezed your eyelids, trying to fade that memory away.
You were torn out of your thoughts and spat back into reality by Elise humming, as if something interesting caught her eye. ‘Is that the new teacher?’ She poked your arm and pointed subtly in the direction of the parking lot. You focused on the direction her finger was pointing to and made contact with the presence of a man. A faint hint of eyebags rested under his eyes and the sides of his eyes had small lines in them. The wrinkles weren’t deep, but rather soft, which gave away that he must be in his forties. But those fysical charachteristics didn’t spoil his handsomeness. His dark hair that was decorated with silver strands was combed back, with only a few strands that had escaped and fell in front of his face. His lips were plump and a scar was drawn in the corner of his lips. A short beard was connected to his trimmed moustache. His lips were pursed in frustration as a few books fell out of the cardboard box he carried. The box was obviously overload with books. You sympathised with him. ‘Mon Dieu! He is handsome and looks very...experienced.’ She winked at you and you tried to hide the blush that crept onto your cheeks as you visualized what she meant. He was broad and the muscle on his arms showed trough his camel coat. ‘He is a teacher Elise, not a piece of meat.’ You reminded her. She mumbled a Whatever and gave you a goodbye kiss before strolling off to her boyfriend, Arno.
You kept thinking about thosse filthy, godless words: ‘He looks...experienced.’
He slowly unbuttoned the , round buttons from the piece of fabric they were strangled in, Exposing a tiny part of his toned abdomen.
You closed your eyes and shook your head, swallowing a heavy lump that had formed in your throat. ‘He is a teacher, not a piece of meat.’ You whispered to yourself.
You turned your gaze back to the new teacher and felt a sea of guilt washing over you as he still was struggling with the heavy box. You exhaled deeply as you decided to walk over to the man and aid him from his misery. ‘Let me help you.’ You said softly as you bended your knees to pick up a few of the fallen books so you wouldn’t expose your undergarment cause of the short plaid skirt you wore. You looked at him and your eyes locked. His amber eyes became soft and friendly. ‘Grazie, I have been struggling with this quite a while.’ He said with a thick Italian accent. You smiled, exposing the dimple  on your cheeck. ‘That’s why I came to your aid.’ You snickered a little as you carried the second box of books that rested in the trunk of his car. The box you carried was less heavy then you expected. He answered with a low chuckle, causing your cheecks to glow.
"How far that little candle throws his beams! So shines a good deed in a weary world." He quoted. His voice was filled with passion. ‘Shakespeare?’ You asked. He seemed surprised and kept switching his head between you and the school corridors in front of him. ‘You know your sources, misses...’ He dazed off, sounding hesitating. ‘Oh, i’m (Y/N). Senior student and a lover of classical literature and the ancient world.’ Your eyes sparkled as you kept talking about your favourite classic books and period in history. ‘To be honest, I am quite surprised about your interests. A lot of students your age find it very boring and old school,’  He smiled, his eyes narrowing a bit and the smiling lines showing. ‘I am happy that you aren’t like them.’ With one hand carrying the box, he opened the door and placed the books on a table.
‘Should I help with unpacking?’ You stood with your legs crossed and your arms behind your back, your fingers grasping the fabric on your wrist. ‘That’s really nice of you, but no. I don’t want to be a burden to you. You can go to your friends while the bell hasn’t rung yet.’
‘Sir, you aren’t a burden to me. Really. I’ll help you with unpacking if you want.’ His eyes were full of sympathy. ‘Okay,’ He chuckled. ‘If you insist.’
You opened the box which revealed a pile of books stacked on top of each other. Floris and Blancefloer. ‘Floris ende blanchefloer. I know this book, it’s a Romantic novel of the 14th century. Amazing.’ Your hands traced the cover. A painting of a man sitting with one knee raised against his chest as the female sat behind him on abench while caressing his cheeck. ‘You know the story?’ He asked, piercing your eyes. ‘Uh well, I know the story just a little bit but I never read it. Reading this book is on my bucket list for a very long time.’ You sighed.
As you kept staring at the cover, you felt his amber orbs burning on your face.
‘Well you can keep a copy of the book as reward for helping me, i’m sure the school can miss it.’  His palms rested on the desk while you stood on the opposite side of the desk. Your faces inches from each other. ‘Are you serious? I can keep it? Is it permissible?’ You asked, trying to stay calm but the touch of excitement in your voice exposed you. It was then you realized that you leaned in a little bit closer. You cleared your throat a little, looking to the side and that was when he realized too. He coughed slightly, taking his hands off of the table and tearing away the coat that hugged his shoulders and arms tightly, hanging it around his seat. ‘See it as an exception,’ His eyes radiated softness as he smiled.
‘Don’t tell my history teacher mrs. Campbell that you are my new favourite teacher.’ You grinned. He looked taken aback by the fact that you called him your favourite teacher. You only knew him for twenty minutes. He raised his eyebrow and looked in your eyes. ‘Am I really your favourite teacher?’ You felt the red tint of blood rushing onto your cheeks. ‘well, yeah. Not everyone would reward their students for helping them, because they see it as a general duty. And so I thought that you would do the same.’  He walked over to the desk you were leaning against . ‘I also see kindness as a general duty we all should fulfill. And by giving you this book you said to adore I have fulfilled my duty of kindness.’ He raised his wrist that was adorned with an Salvatore Ferragamo portrait watch. Those are bloody expensive. 800 dollars (or even more) resting on his wrist. ‘How could a teacher afford such an expensive piece? Maybe it’s a gift. No way he could afford it with the salary he gets as a teacher.’ You thought.
‘(Y/N)?’ He asked, making you snap back to reality. ‘Oh, excuse me sir. I drifted off I guess.’ He nodded. ‘ I could tell. I said; 2 minutes before the bell rings. You better run off to class,’  You just nodded and mumbled a thank you before putting the gifted book inside of your backpack. But before you left the classroom. Mr. Auditore called you. You turned around faster than you’ve expected as he just smiled, sitting on the edge of the desk. ‘Blessed is the desk whose surface has been touched by his great arse.’
‘I hope you won’t drift away during one of my lessons. (Y/N).’ You felt your heart being surrounded by the warmth of your name leeaving his lips. ‘I won’t, Promise.’ And with that you left the classroom.

After Desmond tries to find some answers in the Grand Temple but only finds Juno, he sits back down, and we’re treated to a memory corridor that lets you play as Ziio, and the start of Squence 4. Behold, the first and only time we’ve ever been able to play as one of Desmond’s canonical female ancestors, and it’s only during the time that Ziio is pregnant. Even then, you can’t really “play” as her, you’re confined to the loading screen that you always end up in upon entering/exiting the Animus.
Also I’m like... 90% sure that her animations are reused courtesan animations from the Ezio trilogy. Her model is kinda... off. Her arms are pretty thin to the point of weirdness, and I occasionally spotted some joint articulation troubles, usually around her elbows. Granted, she’s an NPC versus the main playable characters, but it just. Feels weird.
I’ll transcribe her speech here, just because the subtitles are (once again) shit, but I wanted to record it because this is a scene that you can’t revisit at all.
Kaniehtí:io: Time passed. The child grew inside me. And then he entered the world. He had his father’s features, but enough of me that he did not appear a stranger. In the end it mattered little. My people loved him as their own.  Kaniehtí:io: I miss Haytham sometimes. He may have even loved me, in his own way. But his eyes... His eyes were ever fixed upon the future -- one in which his Templar brethren controlled all.  Kaniehtí:io: My greatest fear is that one day I shall look into the face of my son and see the same dark hunger there.
This speech is lovely, though it’s ... a bit weird. It’s written as if she’s talking about her son after he was born, which cannot happen due to the rules of the Animus/genetic memory. I’m willing to chalk it up to just “weirdness”, and like, at this rate, any insight into her mindset or what she might think is very appreciated. You could also posit that this is musing that a baby Ratonhnhaké:ton heard but couldn’t understand, but that’s just a theory.
Also, this marks the point where most/all language of Ratonhnhake:ton’s village and people isn’t translated into English. In universe, the Animus’ translation software has trouble with things that aren’t the target language, which leads to anarchism screws sometimes. The subtitles are an actual thing that Desmond reads, and the actual translation software is buggy, which is what caused Ezio to lapse into his native Italian. Now, there’s no real good in-universe reason as to why Rebecca doesn’t do the same here, attempting to translate it. The Animus’ processing power is likely freed up from the colonies speaking English, so there’s not much of a reason as to why, save for maybe Rebecca or Shaun doesn’t have an accurate idea of what the Kanien'kehá:ka language would be translated to voiced. Localization problems, you know?
Out of universe, the devs wanted to try and represent the Kanien'kehá:ka as  best they could, as well as make Ratonhnhake:ton a more fleshed out character, and gave the Mohawk cultural consultants essentially free reign to change things or tweak things so it was more authentic. Ubisoft even went so far as to not trademark the name Ratonhnhaké:ton, as all Mohawk names are unique.
Another thing of note is that Kanien'kehá:ka language really does sound more level and, I hesitate to say, monotone. It’s a bit odd to my english-speaking ears, as I kept thinking that all the voice acting fell rather flat. But I did some poking around (they say, having fifteen tabs open), and no, their language really does just sound more level with less inflections that I can catch or hear. It’s really fascinating to hear it, as I’ve got very little experience with any Native American cultures, let alone hearing a language spoken. The whole of the next sequence was great, cause you get to hear it spoken constantly!

There Are Better Ways To Meet Than This (EzioLeo)
For @baddestchineseassassin‘s lovely prompt of EzioLeo and a 101 Dalmatians themed meeting. I’m sorry it took so long but I hope you enjoy!
Read on Ao3
Ezio liked dogs, really. Dogs were fine companions, cute and always ready to do something. The loyalty? Unparalleled. But that only applied to big dogs, great ones you could wrestle with.
Dogs like Claudia’s could get punted into the sun. It just wouldn’t stop yapping and he knew that but because he was such a good brother he had given the okay to pet sit Cesare while she was at a business conference for a week.
He lived in a comfortable apartment building that was very pet friendly and has its own animal residents, so Ezio didn’t need to worry too much about some angry tenant busting down his damn door in the dead of night. But this was getting to be ridiculous as he felt his pant leg being tugged on again while he was chopping vegetables.
“Cazzo, you stupid-” Ezio shook the animal off, giving him a stern look. “Cesare, I swear you are the only dog who doesn’t leave me alone. What’s your problem now?” A quick glance at the food bowl he had filled not even three minutes ago answered his question and earned a groan. “Did you even taste the food?”
Cesare simply licked his chops in response.
It wasn’t a bad day out, the sun beginning to set and the sky turning soft shades of pink and purple. The breeze was just enough that Ezio could get away with the white hoodie he generally donned as they went to the park a few blocks away. He was far from calm, though, having to reel in Cesare as he tugged on his leash constantly with no shame. Despite the less than peaceful circumstances, he couldn’t help but daydream more pleasant things in the future. How great would it be to get rid of this damn puffball? To stop choking on dog hair in his sleep? To actually sleep for-
There was a sharp tug that almost took his arm out of the socket, and Ezio could only hold on and pull taut as one thought went through his mind.
Fuck.
Cesare bolted ahead and Ezio could only hold on, trying to skid to a stop without ruining the soles of his boots. Far too late did he notice the green jacket and Golden Retriever right in the collision course.
“Hey! Move-!” Cesare slowed down a fraction of a second and Ezio took his chance to stop him, tugging sharply as they stopped in front of the frankly terrified looking man, though Ezio was a little too preoccupied with trying to regain his breathing that he didn’t take proper stock.
“Mio Dio, are you okay?”
“Yes, I- I’m sorry, this little towel rag just dashed off and I couldn’t control him. Mi dispiace.” Ezio regained his senses enough to look the other in his eyes and the first thing he saw was pretty eyes looking at him in concern. Right after that came freckles and the beginnings of a beard and hair like gold straw. God above, he was handsome and Ezio had to chase errant thoughts out of his mind.
“It’s quite alright.” The man gave a soft, almost reassuring smile. “Are you the, ah, owner of this little ‘towel rag’?” His smile turned into something almost impishly amused, and Ezio had to look down at the two dogs getting friendly.
“No, he belongs to my sister. I’m only dog sitting for the week.”
“Your sister is a very lucky woman to have a brother able to keep up with the dog’s legs.”
“Yes, mind telling her that when she gets back? It’d mean a lot.”
He chuckled lightly. “Of course.
“Great.” Ezio felt a smile start to grow before he began to feel a little uncharastically self-conscious. “I’m sorry again for any trouble this has caused.”
“No trouble at- oof!” He let out a puff of air as he connected with Ezio, knees and chests bumping. “I’m sorry, I-” Ezio quickly glanced down to see the red and yellow leashes of each dog wrapped around their legs like a present as the dogs got to know each other.
“Mona, please-!”
“Cesare! Don’t you fucking-!” He cried out and in the middle of his plea Ezio toppled like a tower backward and the man fell on top of him. Ezio’s back hit the pavement and it knocked the wind out of his lungs for a second as the other struggled to break free. Dear God, it couldn’t get any worse than this as the blush started to run high on his cheeks.
“I’m so sorry, she generally doesn’t do this, are you okay?”
The only thing that he could answer came to his mind with zero filters as he squeaked. “Falling for me already? We don’t even know each other’s names.”
The man was shocked, and yes there were great concerns like the dogs and how they would get out of this, but all the blonde could do was give a disbelieving laugh at the whole situation.
“My name is Leonardo if you must know.”
“Ezio.” And with the goofily charming smile he received in return, Ezio knew he’d have to dog sit Claudia’s lovely rat more often.
I hope you enjoy! If you do I have a Masterpost here and more ideas for writings and prompts here, so feel free to request!  If you’d like to support me, I have a ko-fi here! Safety and peace!

Cat Bureau but its just Malik dealing with his Little Cat brother Kadar, Altaïr’s continued adoption streak, and the strange Novice who seems to be having a religious experience in the backroom every day with the strange maybe deity that arrived with them- oh and the local merchants can’t understand him, wonderful…
The “Altaïr gets a cult (but nobody cares about that) and gets lots of cats against his will” idea and the “Malik and Altaïr bickers like an old married couple” side-idea with its sorta sequel “Ezio breaks down and starts doubting every cat he sees” idea. And the “Ezio looks for someone to cat-sit the army of cats while Altaïr, Malik and Desmond usurp Mario” mini-fic.
Morning strolls were the most peaceful time for Malik.
Altaïr was training in the big courtyard in the middle of their palazzo, surrounded by his children all acting like they were training with him and not just playing around.
Desmond was still asleep and will be asleep until Malik asks one of the cats to wake him up for breakfast. Desmond liked to sleep in but he was also always the last to sleep at night. He keeps saying it was his ‘internal clock’ still needing time to adjust and Malik has stopped trying to understand the many strange words Desmond uses at times. Unlike Altaïr, he preferred not to ask Desmond so many questions about words he said in passing.
His morning stroll would always lead him to the market and he had gotten used to haggling with the merchants there. His Italian was still limited but some of them spoke Latin which he could converse with. His use of Latin seemed to make people assume that he was some kind of monk from a religious sector or another.
He never bothered to correct them.
They didn’t give discounts to monks here (no matter how much Desmond complained). He did know that Desmond gets to pay less for more than he did but he always assumed it was because Desmond had a way with words and he was fluent in Italian.
Desmond, however, was not good at discerning the best ingredient to buy. He was better than Altaïr though but Malik would rather he be the one in charge of buying their food.
“Meow!”
“Hm? What’s the matter, Kadar?” Malik turned slightly to look at the small kitten gripping his shoulders with his little claws. Clear blue eyes stared back at him as the kitten meowed once more.
It was the same meow he always made whenever he was going to Altaïr.
Malik sighed and looked at what had caught the attention of the only feline companion he had.
“Oh, Malik! We have your favorite fish! As fresh as they can be!” The fishmonger he frequented caught him looking around and waved his hands towards the stall.
To be completely honest, Malik was unsure if he heard the fishmonger right. The actual words he knew from what he said were his name, ‘favorite’, ‘fish’ and ‘fresh’.
Looking at the fishes he was selling today though…
Malik’s expression remained neutral but he turned to look at kitten on his shoulder.
That was a mistake.
The kitten was giving him the biggest pleading eyes he had ever seen.
Malik let out a long suffering sigh and began to walk towards the fishmonger’s stall.
It seemed breakfast would be Altaïr’s favorite fish today.
He’ll buy a bit more since that strange novice who has been visiting Desmond every day might visit them during breakfast.
… again.

Random nanowrimo fic #2
A/n: honestly I dont know where I was going with this but please bare with me. I havent been able to write for nanowrimo and I'm upset about it. So I'm throwing random pitches before it ends. Also keep sending me your version of Ruby!! :D
Being transported to another dimension was crazy. Being stuck in a universe with no way back was even worse. One minute Ruby waiting for her cousin Kara to get home from work to start training. The next, a portal opens from under her and she's in another universe, in Paris.
Luckily she had taken French many times and had J'onn help her study. In her earth, this was just a comic. One of her favorite comics none the less. So if that was the case, all young Ruby had to find the guardian of the miraculous. She didn't even have time to freak out before she heard the sound of school bells. Her thoughts were interrupted and Ruby turned, eyes wide as she stared a very famous school from her comic.
As she watched Marinette Dupain-Cheng leave the school ground. The girl walked alone, humming to herself as she ignored her surroundings. Ruby felt guilt, she saw how Marinette was being treated unfairly by a liar. She stared for a few more seconds, before plastering a smile and ran to where Marinette was.
"Excuse me, but are you Marinette?" The blue eyed girl looked startled by the random person asking for her. Looking like an american none the less. Honestly, Ruby couldn't blame her. She was aware she was attracting unpleasant eyes on her, but kept her focus on the ladybug holder.
"I-- yes, that would be me. Can-can I help you?" She asked shyly, and Ruby's smile widened.
"Please! Can I get an autograph? Your designs are just splendid! And the Jagged Stone cover album you did was my absolute favorite." Ruby gushed and watches as Marinette turned red at the praise. Ruby grabbed her hand gently, ignoring how soft her hands were.
"Also, if you don't mind, there's a comission I would like to talk to you about." She continued, guilt eating her away. Ruby hated lies just as much as Marinette, but she had no choice. This is was the only way they could talk alone. Unless she did ask for a comission.
"U-um sure!"
"Marinette, who is this?" Ruby almost scowled when she saw the girl in front of her pale drastically. Turning, Marinette looked up at the steps and saw Lila and Alya stare at her. Ruby resisted the urge to step forward. She didn't know if her powers worked properly here, but she had enough practice in controlling them. So she didn't worry as much about using her super speed.
"Are you new here? I could show you around instead. I helped a very well known family like time in my travel to New York." Lila supplies happily, her eyes holding a dangerous glint as she glanced at Marinette. Ruby's face twitched a bit as she resisted to use her super strength on the liar. Letting out a soft breath, she smiled at Lila.
"No thanks. I'm just here to ask for an autograph and a comission from Marinette. Did you know she also designed Jagged's glasses and album?! I wouldn't be surprised if she had his number personally."
Alya eyes widened before looking guilty at Marinette. Before Lila could come up with a lie to frame Marinette, Alya spoke first. "Girl I'm so sorry. I forgot you knew Jagged like that. It completely slipped my mind."
"Wait w-what?" Lila stuttered out, turning to Alya. Marinette stared at Ruby in shock, as the girl glared at Lila. Sensing the growing tension, Marinette spoke up quickly.
"You said you wanted a comission, right? We can talk about it in the park. " Marinette said quickly, grabbing Ruby's hand and dragged her quickly away from the liar. Ruby heard footsteps trying to follow them and quickly walked forward, grabbing Marinette by the waist.
The girl squeaked and immediately tried to break free. "Marinette please. We need to go somewhere far to talk, and Lila is trying to follow us. I need you and Tikki to trust me." Marinette froze, staring fearfully at Ruby, and she hated it.
Pushing down her guilt, she dragged her towards an alley passed the park and slowly lifted off the ground. Marinette gasped and wrapped her arms around Ruby's neck. Just as they reached the rooftop, Ruby told her to stay quiet as she heard Lila walk to where they were. They heard Lila snarl when she didn't see anyone, and quickly changed her expression when Alya joined her. The girls left afterwards, so Ruby let go of Marinette, just as the girl pushed her off.
"How do you know about to tikki? Who are you?" She demanded, the red kwami flying out of her purse and stared at Ruby. Slowly the girl kneeled down with surrendered hands. She never saw Marinette being this intimidating without the suit and definitely didn't think she would see it in person.
"Please, I just want to home. I have no one else I could go to. In my earth, you guys are just comics. And I know I lied earlier, but I hate lying too and my whole life is basically one. And Lila is just terrible too and--"
"Slow down!" Marinette spoke up. Ruby stopped when she realized she was rambling and turned red, looking down embarrassed. She's adorable. What.
"I'm sorry. When I'm nervous, I speak really fast and only my cousin understands me. Let me start again. My name is Ruby Danvers and I'm from a different universe." She said, looking up at the kwami and chosen.
"Tikki?" Marinette turned to her kwami, ignoring how uncharacteristically fast her heart was beating at the familiarity of the girl.
The red kwami flew towards Ruby, who stared back nervously and excitedly. Smiling, tikki turned back to Marinette.
"She's telling the truth, Marinette. We can ask the guardian for help." The little god said, and Ruby sagged in relief.
"You have no idea how much that means to me. I can tell you anything I know." Ruby said, looking at Marinette happily. The girl felt her face heat up and looked away, missing her kwami's knowing look.
"You said earlier we were comics in your world. I'm assuming that its the same with you as well?" She asked Ruby, causing the girl to frown.
"I have honestly no idea. It's only been a few hours since I got here and I tried not to move too much. But I would assume so. Try looking up Supergirl on your phone." Ruby sat comfortably on the floor as Marinette took out her phone and looked it up. After a few seconds, she heard the girl squeal.
"Oh my god! You're from my favorite show! I'm still waiting on that new season! Are you really Supergirl's cousin for real?" Marinette exclaimed, having gotten close to Ruby in her excitement. The girl calmed down after a bit and saw how close they were to each other. Both of them blushed and Marinette moved back quickly, as Ruby shuffled a bit back.
"U-um yeah. My brother is technically a few minutes older, but being stuck in a place where no time passes with your cousin, makes him a bit older." Ruby states shrugging a bit.
"Well we need to get you a new identity for now. Ruby Danvers is famous character." Marinette said, after calming down a bit. Ruby looked behind Marinette and stared in shock as Chat Noir jumped on the same rooftop as them.
"Hey, bugaboo. Who's this?" He said, walking over. He seemed calmed enough, but Ruby knew from experience that he was on edge. Especially since tikki was out in the open to a random stranger.
"Relax kitty. This person needs our help getting back home. She's from a different earth. We need to help her create an identity in the mean time." Marinette explains, placing a hand on her partner's shoulder. He seems to relax a little, but Ruby didn't move. Not until they all said it was okay. She had learned that a long time ago.
"Ruby, you don't have to stay there. No one is going to harm you." Tikki flew to the girl on the floor, and only received a smile. Chat and Marinette stared at Ruby.
"Sorry, I just wanted to make sure that all of you knew I wasn't a threat." She stared as Chat Noir's eyes widened and he turned to Marinette, who nodded at him. Sighing, Chat stopped forward to Ruby and held out a hand to her.
Ruby slowly took his hand as he called off his transformation and the young girl stood face to face with the Adrien Agreste.
"So, Ruby huh? What makes you special?" Adrien asked, and Ruby practically squealed at those words. Those words reminded her of when Kara told her when she first met the heroes of earth-1 for an invasion. She looked at Marinette for permission and got a nod. Smiling widely, she fixed her grip on the boy's hand, making sure to not hurt him.
"Let's go for a ride, kitty cat." And with that, Ruby lifted off the ground, laughing at Adrien's squeak of surprise as he gripped her arm. Plagg cackled, floating next to Ruby as they lifted at least 10 feet in the air.
"Oh I like her! Can we keep her, sugarcube?" Plagg said, once they floated down. Adrien scrambled behind Marinette, who was holding in her laughter.
"Ok ok. Let's think of something." Marinette said after finally calming down. Ruby floated slightly as Marinette and Adrien sat on the floor, the kwami's on their respective holder's head.
"Even though I have the hair and eyes similar, I can't be related to Marinette because I look far too American. I could say that I'm in a exchange program and old friends of yours." Ruby supplies, floating right above them. Adrien, having calmed down from his stupor, thinks it over.
"That could work. I could pull some strings to make sure it's real enough so no one questions it."
"Am I allowed to do anything about that lying snake?"
"No." Four voices said to Ruby at once. The girl frowned as she stared up. She could plan it later, maybe with Plagg's help. He can get her to Trixx in case.
"We still have to go to master about this."
"I could fly us there. But it would be a bit obvious since it's still day out. I can hear your classmates voices nearby." Ruby states, crossing her arms as she stopped floating, just staying above their heads.
"You have super speed, right? My house is right there. If you can get me a hoodie I have on the mannequin, some materials and some scissors, I could help disguise you. Make you look like a miraculous hero." Marinette looked up at Ruby, who had this look of wonder in her eyes as she stared down.
"You'd really do that?"
"Why wouldn't she? You could've used your powers to hurt us already. But you haven't, and considering you're from our favorite show, I don't think there's anything Marinette wouldn't do for her favorite character."
"Adrien!" Marinette turned red as the boy next to her laughs, easily escaping her clutches as Ruby stared at them both. Her cousin told her many things about the multiverse, and meeting one of her best friends from another earth was cool. But Ruby never thought she would never experience it herself.
She watches them bicker, the kwamis resting on her head and smiled. Even if did take a while to find a proper way home, Ruby honestly wouldn't change this for anything. Not even Lila Rossi or Hawkmoth would stop her from feeling this ecstatic.
Lila Rossi.
Now that was someone Ruby was going to enjoy destroying before she left. Watch out Paris, theres a new hero in town. And her name is Velocity.

AC: Ragnarok--no, that’s a Thor movie--Valhalla!
Okay! So. I was in a teleconference today (because the one thing that hasn’t shut down during this pandemic is Construction, Especially of Hospitals) when Ubisoft did their Thing. So I missed it. But now: time to watch the trailer.
(I did get to passively, distractedly watch the art thing yesterday they did on twitter, but all I got from it was pretty landscapes and silhouette of a Big Guy, so aside from the Ubisoft AC Special (TM), and VIKINGS, I don’t know what I’m about to see. Huzzah!)
Disclaimer: I tried to keep my language clean, but that failed at some point
Bullet points, go!
1. So.... that’s looking to be a fairly burly guy. Or at least very well armoured.
2. If there is no option to play as a lady this time I will S C R E A M and then promptly wage internet war (no I won’t). Kass spoiled me, you can’t take that away from me, Ubisoft!
3. A priestess woman... is she our female playable character?
4. It’s taken me until now to figure out that the voice over narration is an actual character speaking and not just... a random voice over narrator.
5. LOL the narration is all about how they kill indiscriminately and of course Ubisoft pairs that with a “oh look at this woman and her child(ren?), let’s allow them to run away from the fighting and violence and not kill them” and I mean. This is AC of course they’re going to make their protag / protag’s people look good, so I’m not surprised, and knowing that this is a character narration means it’s propaganda to some degree (Templaaaaars!). I’m just. You’re really going out of your way to show where the lines are drawn, but in the most subtle manner you can manage, eh?
6. I gotta say: that switch from actual battle to play fighting and training with the fam? That’s a nice transition. Almost as good as the ones for the Origins Theatrical Trailer (all caps, because that? Is the shit. Still my favourite. Leonard Cohen! Bayek! Aya/Amunet! Egypt! Cleo and Caesar and did I say Bayek! And SENU, MY LOVE <3 <3 <3 <3 <3).
7. I didn’t bother to look up what year (decade) this is set in exactly, but I’m going to assume it’s pre-Christianization of the Scandiwegian countries/lands, so that means A) this is probably not going to have a happy ending, and B) my immediate reaction of KING JOHN! WHERE IS ROBIN HOOD? Is way off base
8. Guy in the background is reminding me of what’s his face from ACII. Damn it. I remember Savonarola, but not him. The Gonfallioniere (sp?). I’m recording all of my thoughts trying to remember this fool’s name because it’s bugging me so much I SHOULD KNOW IT. Um. What’s his face. The Betrayer. That guy. Getting those same vibes from Mister Background For The King. (An eminence grise?)
9. AAAAAAND... BATTLE! This is feeling like that one mission in AC3, where they tricked us into thinking we could do the same thing in actual play as Connor did in the trailer. THAT’S WHAT I’M FEELING, I am Worried. Not super stealthy to be front and centre in a giant free for all!
10. (I say like the entire premise of this game isn’t VIKINGS. What do I know)
11. WHAT IS THAT FLORENTINE LAWYER GUY’S NAME?????
12. So the... leader? Chief? Head honcho? The dude gets taken out and the guy-who-is-I-guess-our-boy just lobs that... axe? Very nice.
13. A hooded person! So maybe we actually ARE being stealthy? Is that our boy/girl?
14. No, my bad, that was just fucking god. (KASS? IS THAT YOU?)
15. “Odin is with us!” Well, that was definitely our standard bird of prey that just took off (I’m including Corvids in this--I just 100% typo’ed that as “Covid”, I’ve Pavlov’d my fingers apparently). So random hooded person who is Not Odin what is wrong with you is... maybe probably our boy/girl? Nice. And dude who is speaking is not?
(15.2. I have to admit, I’m on my second watch, and I’m still having trouble keeping track of who is who between each scene. Is the guy who meets the priestess and gets blood markings the same one we see talking? Is it the leader who gets shanked in the battle? Is it someone else entirely? I don’t know! I’m just going to assume that we’re focusing on the guy who speaks during the battle because of Reasons From Further Points.)
16. No, seriously, what is that fool’s name from Florence? Damnit.
17. Dude-on-a-horse! ...I’m assuming you’re the guy from the scene with the King. And now you’re on a horse! With a... giant of a man beside you. (Ser Gregor Clegane, is that you?)
18. Holy shit it might be, I want a normal person to stand beside both Mister Mountain and our boy, how big are you guys????? Height, muscle, mass, weight, armour, all of the above? The scales for these people look. So weird.
19. Mario Kart 64 had the battle rounds for two or more players? And when you selected it there was that (Luigi?) voice clip that said, “Battol!” Yeah, I definitely heard that when our boy faced off with Mister Mountain.
20. NOT LOOKING TOO HOT THERE, P.O.V. CHARACTER, MAYBE YOU NEED A LITTLE HELP FROM YOUR HOODED FRIEND?
21. HA! HELP GRANTED AND--
22. YOU ARE FUCKING KIDDING ME. Now I need to go back and rewatch and see if I can pick up on that bracer from earlier scenes. (And over the back of the hand? Definitely a follow through Origins then.)
23. THE SHIT. IS THIS.
24. !!!!!!!! ALBERTO UMBERTI! YOU FUCKER I FORGOT YOUR NAME!!!! Anyway.
25. But yeah, I was really hoping for some kind of surprise stealth kill like the arrow storms from Brotherhood, but... this works? I guess? I DON’T KNOW HOW I FEEL ABOUT THIS.
26. I lied--I know exactly how I feel about this. Very... RPG-ish, more God of War than AC. I’m probably going to enjoy it anyway because I do enjoy God of War, but since this is supposed to fit in the timeline between Origins and ACI (Altair! It’s been too long, I’ve missed you, your arrogant prick), I was kind of hoping for something that leaned more towards the stealth of Altair (except for when I’m playing the game) and less the knock-em-down, drag-em-out brawling of Odyssey.
On the other hand, our boy (and hopefully lady!) goes a-viking, so. I don’t know why I thought it might be anything different?
27. I didn’t comment on the music but! This sounds familiar! It has a very Woodkid-vibe to it, but without being Woodkid (I think?????). And lots of sound effects, of course, so I’m going to have to look this up to get a proper feel for it. It just sort of... faded into the background except in one or two spots, and I know that’s what you want for good sound mixing, but this is a trailer, not a feature length film, I want to hear the song. I’m assuming it was chosen for a reason, I’d like to be able to tell what that reason is.
(27.2 They actually used a song from Jonsi for the Black Flag trailer, and since Sigur Ros is from Iceland this might have been the better time to use it... oh! Wait I can just go look up if they have a track similar to this. Exciting!) (I apologize for the lack of proper spelling there, I’m fighting with my keyboard to make it type English characters properly, let alone ones that my computer considers “special” characters :\ )
Thoughts: Okay, well, one trailer and me otherwise ignoring all the rumours for AC means I have nothing solid to really form an opinion about. Aside from A+++++ animation quality, Ubisoft, you never fail in that department. (Game quality and glitches, on the other hand... I still remember Arno’s L’Oreal commercial, Ubisoft,)
I’m excited to see northern Europe and the British Isles in game form! It might be the only form of travelling I get to do in the next few months. ...even though this is supposed to be out just before New Years?
I said just above that I had Thoughts on how the story would be bridged between Origins and ACI, and I still do, but I’m intrigued to see where and how Ubisoft is going to take this and play with it. I also need to check and see if they’ve confirmed a timeline/decade/year that this takes place in, so I can go pour over all the history from that time period. ...and maaaaaaybe we’ll get to go see Constantinople when it was Constantinople and before it became Istanbul during Ezio’s lifetime (ish)?
AC: Revelations: fighting with Jannisaries. AC: Valhalla (DLC?): fighting as a Varangian Guard (the sort-of precursor to the Jannisaries)
A girl can dream, right?

Next Assassin’s Creed Game
Predictions about the next Assassin’s Creed game
(Please note that I am not a journalist and I have no insider info about the Assassin’s Creed series or Ubisoft. This is all speculation for fun. Also, FYI this is not a history paper! I am looking up some facts and dates, but also just discussing things I’ve read and heard before and am hoping I’ve remembered correctly. Don’t take this as a good source of history. I apologize for any mistakes this post may contain and encourage you to do your own research into the topics mentioned if you’re interested in them. Sources I consulted for the history I discuss here include Encyclopedia Britannica and Wikipedia.)
It’s a safe bet that the Assassin’s creed series will be around for a while yet, but what’s less certain is the form that the next installment will take. It has long been rumored that there will be title set in ancient Rome, and it seems likely that the next release will be exactly that – Rome would be a nice way to close out a loose “trilogy” of games set in the classical/Hellenistic Mediterranean after Egypt and Greece. But the history of Rome is long and complex.
In early times, Rome was a kingdom; it then became a republic from 509 BCE to 27 BCE, and then an empire that stood until the late 400s AD (in the west – the eastern half survived much longer). The period between the traditional date of the city’s founding in 753 BCE and the fall of the western part of the empire around 476-480 covers more than 1,200 years, and though the empire is long gone, Rome itself still remains, a beautiful and remarkable city I have had the pleasure of visiting. Obviously, a lot changed over more than one thousand years of Roman history, and saying that a game is set in Rome or the Roman Empire would be quite vague, so I’ll attempt to narrow it down.
I once thought that an Assassin’s Creed game set in ancient Rome would likely make Julius Caesar the main antagonist, because (spoilers for Origins and for real history!) he was famously assassinated after becoming something of an autocrat in what was supposed to be a republic. In Brotherhood, players can find the armor and writings of Brutus, one of the conspirators who killed Caesar. It could be fun to play as Brutus, or, as I suspected, to at least have him as a major character, as a way to tie the game to Ezio’s story. However, as those of us who have played Origins know, Caesar is assassinated by Aya at the end of that game, so it would make little sense to re-visit that exact time period since Caesar has already been used as an antagonist.
What if we look back further in history? My best guess now is that an Assassin’s Creed game set in Rome will take place during the second Punic war, which raged from 218-201 BCE. It was a particularly fierce and dramatic conflict fought between Rome and Carthage, a state founded by in north Africa by Phoenicians. Rome had defeated them once before – we are talking about the second Punic war here after all. Although their earlier loss had undoubtedly weakened Carthage, by the time of the second war with Rome they were still formidable.
While there may be no Romans from this period who are as famous to us today as some later emperors are, this is the war Hannibal Barca fought in. Most of you have probably at least heard of his daring invasion of Italy, in which he and his army, including elephants, crossed the Alps to attack the Romans from the north. Hannibal was a great military leader and has a lot of name recognition (more than Scipio Africanus does these days at least). Imagine fighting an army of Phoenician soldiers, their ranks bolstered by northern “Barbarians” who had joined the cause, and by a bunch of elephants. Elephants were already present as optional bosses in Origins, but imagine if they were integrated into field battles like the conquest battles of Odyssey. Historically, Hannibal had a fairly limited number of elephants at his disposal during his invasion, but they could appear as occasional bosses during story missions.
The Battle of Cannae, in particular, is one of the most famous battles in all of history and saw Hannibal defeat a larger Roman force. It could be a spectacular set piece.
One strike against my theory is that some prominent works of Roman architecture, like the Coliseum, were built after this time period, and would therefore have to be omitted if any semblance of historical accuracy was being observed. Then again, many of us already climbed the Coliseum and the Pantheon as Ezio in the Renaissance and wouldn’t miss them too much if they don’t show up in this game.
What would gameplay be like in this setting? Well, probably similar to the last two games in many respects. One way they could differentiate melee combat could be to re-introduce shields, which were present in Origins and absent (for the player character at least) in Odyssey. Shields were very important to Roman infantry (though as Blue from Overly Sarcastic Productions on YouTube has pointed out in his video “Historical Realism Review: Assassin's Creed Odyssey,” shields are an odd omission in that game, so who knows). The Romans also made use of javelins – could they be integrated, perhaps having higher damage than bows but also a shorter range?
Speaking of Blue from OSP, in the same video he mentions that it was unrealistic to see Greeks fighting in a disorganized melee when they actually relied so heavily on the phalanx formation. He said that he wished the game had been able to “bridge the gap” between a rigid formation and a “Battle royale.” In the unrelated game “Ryse: Son of Rome,” battles are split between sections in formation and sections of free-for-all fighting on your own. The latter type of gameplay is by far more common, but there are a few points at which the player character forms up with other soldiers and commands them to advance, brace behind shields to withstand incoming arrows, or throw javelins. An Assassin’s Creed game could do something similar, with some story missions embedding the player within a formation of soldiers and controlling them as a unit. This type of combat would likely be less engaging than the freer one-person army whirling through the battlefield, but it could be used occasionally in story missions to show a more realistic version of combat tactics at the time and to change up the pace of gameplay.
Naval combat could return with a twist: why not give the player’s ship a corvus? This Roman innovation is a type of spiked drawbridge that could be swung down onto a nearby enemy ship, allowing the Roman infantry to storm across and capture the vessel rather than destroy it. Historically, the Romans used the corvus in the first Punic war and it fell out of favour before the time we’re examining, but it is historically possible that at least the player’s ship could make use of this existing technology. Then naval battles could become deeper (no pun intended): players could decide whether to ram an enemy vessel or set it ablaze with flaming arrows, or attach the ships and engage in melee combat. Boarding already exists in Assassin’s Creed games, but the corvus could be a way to differentiate boarding a ship from destroying it. In Odyssey, boarding was only possible once a ship had been disabled and was nearly sinking from battle damage. What if in the next game, ramming or burning an enemy vessel would destroy it, while using the corvus would allow it to be not only boarded and raided, but captured? Troops on board your ship could be a resource, expended to board and subsequently sail enemy ships. I can imagine a system in which it was possible to capture enemy ships during battle, have your soldiers take control of them, and then have those ships assist you as AI companions. Maybe only one or two ships could be taken over before you run out of troops, and maybe they’d only assist until the battle was over, or perhaps they’d have to be manually dismissed to regain your full count of troops onboard your own ship. I think this would add a new dimension to naval combat.
The nation struggle system is likely to return, especially if the game is set during a period of intense warfare. I have written the preceding sections under the assumption that the player character would be on the Roman side. I do not know, of course, if the player character would be loyal to one side or the other, and if so, to which. I hope that they will fight for one side, because being a mercenary with no allegiance or real moral code irritated me in Odyssey. I feel that if the protagonist is loyal to one side, it will likely be Rome, partly because Rome would actually feel like the underdog in this conflict in which their territory is invaded, and partly because of Eurocentrism and the greater pop-culture familiarity with Rome compared to Carthage. Maybe we’d even go back to a system with two playable characters, like in Syndicate, but this time with one on each side of the conflict, but that might be too complicated to implement.
And now, just for fun, what could the title for this hypothetical Roman Assassin’s Creed game be? I’ve seen “Assassin’s Creed Legion” floated as a possibility by someone online. I also think that “Empire,” the rumoured title of Origins, could be appropriate. What do you think?
Again, I only looked up a few things here (and hoped I’m remembering the rest correctly), so I apologize if I’ve gotten some historical facts wrong. I mean, I’m just spitballing about what a video game might be, I’m not doing much research. Thanks for taking the time to read. I’d love to hear your theories and hopes for the game as well!

Leonardo da Vinci
Tumblr media
@romanianbrotherhood    Since you wanted to be tagged~ ;)
As it was expected of all noble women in Italy's Renaissance era, they had to learn only how to be the perfect wives for their future husbands, chosen only to make strong allegiances between families, and create heirs to ensure the continuation of the renowned name. For the Templars especially that had to be ensured, in order to strengthen their numbers, overthrow any Assassin ruling and conquer the world, political-wise. That may have been the reason for the tremendous shock the Riario family had when their daughter, instead of behaving like a proper lady, kept exhibiting lack of manners and a love for the barbaric since very young.
How were they supposed to wed such an untamed soul? Who would be willing to take care of such an unruly child, if even her parents couldn't stop her from misbehaving?
Wearing breeches instead of dresses and a using a sword instead of a needle, she grew up to the ripe age of womanhood, and yet, her wildness only seemed to increase. Many suitors came to court her, yet they were all turned down before they could even introduce themselves, using a petty excuse at all times. That is, until her parents grew fed up, and at her mother's request, her father was to escort her to the house of the great painter da Vinci, known for his love of art and soft attitude, from which she should be able to learn. The plan was to let her there until she learns how to properly behave like a woman should, so they could finally give her off to some noble Templar. Clearly, she refused anything proposed by her parents, but with a slap on her face, she begrudgingly accepted the silly feat, letting her maid pack up whatever comfortable clothes she had and followed her father into the carriage, to the artist's home. He knocked on the door firmly, her hiding behind him, looking away and scoffing, until someone finally answered the call.
-?-: Buongiorno, Messer Riario! How may I help you today? Dad: Good day to you as well, Messer da Vinci. I have come with a little request, if you would. Leo: Si, signor, I am listening. Dad: My daughter, Y/N, is such an untamed spirit, unsuitable for marriage. My wife and I wondered if you could take her in as an apprentice or protegée and somehow make her cease her barbaric behaviour, we'd be eternally grateful. We will pay you as much as you need, weekly, only accept. Leo: I...Messer, that is a rather peculiar request...Although I suppose something like this wouldn't hurt anyone. Dad: Grazie mille di cuore, Messer da Vinci! You have my eternal gratitude! Leo: No need for such words, I'd be happy to help. Now, where is la bella signorina? Dad: She's right here, hiding behind me. Won't you greet this lovely man? Where are your manners, dear? Y/N: Um...Ciao. Dad: How dull of you. Can't you put a little more enthusiasm in it? That's why all those nice men rejected you. Y/N: Technically speaking, I rejected them. Dad: You're going to ruin your life if you continue like this. Nobody is going to wed you! Y/N: Oh, and what a pity. You know, there are other, more important things in life. Other than children bearing or marriage. Knowledge, for example. You wouldn't know, however, since you lack any sort of outer vision. Leo: Va bene, Messer, let's get her inside to settle down! I'm a busy man, I cannot linger much longer! Dad: Very well. Here is the payment for this month. Y/N, please behave. Y/N: Ci vediamo, padre.   (See you later)
One of Leonardo's apprentices carried her luggage to the spare room where she'll be staying. She sat on the bed, looking outside the window at the bright ray of light protruding her room, thinking of potential scenarios of her future. Leonardo was a famous artist with peculiar interests and even his speech seemed to betray a small speck of quirkiness, but somehow, he seemed to be rather...welcoming? In all reality though...Was it really such a horrible decision to learn how to defend herself? She wouldn't possibly want to become a damsel in distress or anything of the sort. And besides, training was enjoyable and relaxing, so why should she have stopped?
On the ground, on the nightstand, on the table there seemed to be sprawled papers and scribbled notebooks thrown in a rather messy manner. Picking them up one by one, she inspected each sketch, taking in every small, insignificant detail. She has never seen any of his famous works and seeing these scribbles now, she could see the life in them and the passion for learning and the unknown. She realised he, too, was one captivated by everything that seemed to terrify the mundane, and for that, she was grateful.
A knock on the door startled her, making her jolt up, looking at the intruder with the eyes of a frightened fawn, but soon relaxed under the calm, gentle gaze of her host, who seemed a tad spazzic.
Y/N: Uh...Ciao. Leo: Mi dispiace, signorina. I came to check on you and to... Oh, I see you've already discovered my discarded works. Y/N: They are beautiful...Why did you throw them away? Forgotten here, like the time? Leo: There's always room for improvement. Truth be told, I was rather unhappy with how they turned out, yet had not the heart to completely burn them. Y/N: May I...Keep them? They are rather inspiring. Leo: If my work can inspire someone with such a burning thirst for knowledge, then who am I to refuse your sincere request? Y/N: Grazie, Messer. Leo: Please, no need for these silly courtesies. Y/N: Suit yourself then, Leo. What are these, then? Leo: Ah, I see you stumbled upon my anatomical sketches. The hospital brings me bodies to study, hoping to help understand ourselves better and yet... Y/N: You'd need someone alive, huh? These drawings seem highly vivid though. I believe some imagination was required as well. Leo: There is only so much I can learn from living until they get creeped out. Y/N: *smirks* And what if I volunteer to be of any aid~? Would you paint me like one of your Italian girls? Leo: Would you allow me to? I suppose you know what that means, but- Y/N: Earn it and maybe I will slooowly allow you to peak and sketch a bit. Leo: You won't be disappointed!
And so, every week, the girl would allow her new friend to paint her, yet only the way she wanted, like reading lazily on the sofa, laying like a princess, or in the gardens, by the Spring flowers. Her beauty was ethereal, now that it was no longer hidden by a continuous burning rage and for Leonardo, it was definitely an angelic sight he loved to paint. And despite all his professionalism and the fact that he was truly dedicated and married to his work... He found himself wanting to paint her, not only for research purposes, but for something much more incredible and pure.
Despite all of her brash, 'barbaric' reflexes and the weird feeling of not having a weapon around her, she moved as graceful as a swan and her delicate touch would teleport him in other dimensions.
A fortnight later, the two grew more and more accustomed to each other, getting close and rather friendly, sometimes going out together to enjoy a fancy meal or see the beauty of the gardens, at night.
Nevertheless, as they were having a light conversation about the reason birds could fly, they were surprised by the door opening and a young boy in typical assassin garments, looking rather crestfallen yet pleased to see the blond man in front of him.
Y/N: One would say doors were invented for people to announce their arrival by knocking on them. Leo: Ah, there's really no problem, dear Y/N! This is Ezio Auditore, my friend. He's always welcomed here! Y/N: Thanks for the fun fact. I see you're friends with assassins. Wise choice, but rather risky. Ezio: You speak as though you are knowledgeable in the subject, signorina. Y/N: Of course I am. My father is a filthy Templar and I'm expected to be the same. Ezio: Templar...? Y/N: Ah, you don't even know your heritage, do you? Never you mind, learn more and perhaps I will tell you a story once you grow a bit older. Ezio: I'm pretty sure I'm older than you. Y/N: *grins* You'd be surprised, kiddo. Okay, Leo, he has my approval. Now, what is it that you want from us? Ezio: I was thinking you could repair something of mine. Leo: Ah, yes, of course!
As soon as Ezio put the pieces on the work table, Leonardo went full awestruck mode, saying how fascinating it looked and yet, got soon slightly disappointed that he didn't have the object's blueprints. Raising her eyebrow in confusion, the girl pointed to the scroll underneath the pieces, saying it might withhold crucial information about the alien technology. Gasping in surprise, he quickly started deciphering the code, shushing the poor Auditore and making him sit on the armchair until he was done with the repairing. She wouldn't admit it out loud, but seeing her new friend so entrapped in the spell of creation and learning got her to watch him more closely, her heart leaping with emotion at his enthusiasm. His fingers were working with such dexterity and ease as if he's merely sketching a tree and not repairing an ancient object with an even more difficult codex to read.
Poor kid already fell asleep soon after having sat in that armchair, yet it took Leo less than expected to fully repair what looked like a weapon bracer, possibly the assassins' legacy weapon and it seems like he also perfected it. Highly giddy, he woke Ezio up and told him about the requirements of using that blade...yet something seemed way off. There, in his gorgeous eyes, was an amused glint, sparkling with mischief as he saw the boy preparing his finger to be cut off with a cleaver. Much was his mirthful laughter when he just slammed the blade on the desk, near his finger, seeing his confused expression.
Not long after he explained the truth about the weapon, did another knock on the door disturb the peace. Clearly pissed off, the girl stormed to open it brashly, glaring at the guard in front of her.
Y/N: Now, what is it that you want? Don't you know it's rather rude to almost break that the door?! Guard: Uh...Are you Leonardo da Vinci? Y/N: Do I look like a Leonardo to you?! No, of course it's not me, dimwit! Now leave already! You're depriving me of my peace! Guard: Then, is it his residence? I don't have all day to waste with a wench like you, I am a busy man! Y/N: Oh, well what a shame it is! What is it your business with Messer da Vinci? Guard: It is strictly between I and him. Now run along! Leo: It's okay, Y/N, I can handle this. I am Leonardo da Vinci. How may I be of service? Guard: I need you to answer some questions. Leo: Certainly. Y/N: Outside, if you will? I do not want you polluting the air in our house with your filthy tongue. Guard: Next time you open your mouth, you will pay. Leo: Now, now, there's no need for violence. Guard: A witness saw you consorting with an enemy of the city. Leo: What? Me? Preposterous! Guard: When was the last time you saw or spoke to Ezio Auditore? Leo: Who? Guard: Don't play dumb! We know you were close to the Auditores! Perhaps this will help you clear your head- Y/N: I beg to differ.
Seeing the guard try to push Leonardo and bully him, Y/N got angry and punched him hard in the jaw taunting him. Clearly, he wasn't too good of a fighter either, since he seemed wobbly, so she took it to her advantage, took out the dagger from her sleeve, and twirling it around, lashed out at him, slashing his throat in one swift move. She looked at his shocked and pained expression as he fell, with a smug grin on her face, wiping the blood from her blade with her fingers.
Y/N: Perhaps being such a barbarian isn't a bad thing...Don't you think, dear friend? Leo: I surely can't deny that. Ezio: What happened here? Y/N: Ah, kiddo, you missed all the fun. What a pity. Ezio: You...?! Ah, nevermind, what do we do with the body? Leo: Just get it inside with the others. Ezio: The others?! Y/N: Well, of course. He's a scientist, you know? The city benefits from his knowledge. Leo: *shrugs shyly* Guess so. Ezio: *smiles* Bellissimo.
Many years passed, Ezio Auditore came to visit us quite often, offering a new Codex page with each arrival, always happy to see Leo's enthusiasm and hugging him.
As well as that, we had to move to Venice once and then to Rome, fearing for the boy's life, however, since he was framed so many times.
That is, until one day in Rome where we were working on commissions and works (where even I could help him despite only having painted for as long as we've been together), and Messer Auditore surprised us with a new acquisition. Unfortunately, we couldn't do much without Salai, the new apprentice, since he was away...again.
The bad part of this whole ordeal was that just as Ezio left us, a bunch of Guards got us out of the workshop, for a 'peaceful interrogation'. They started talking aggressively to Leonardo, which didn't do well with me in the slightest, and I went in front of him, standing in a fighting stance.
Y/N: Leonardo, run away while I keep them occupied. Leo: Cosa?! I cannot leave you behind! Y/N: D'you really think they'd be stupid enough to kill the daughter of the great Templar Riario? Leo: You cannot defend yourself, Y/N! Y/N: Now, that's where you are wrong, love.
Smirking, she easily ripped off the bottom half of her skirt, revealing her sword strapped to her leg on a holder, which she swiftly took out, pointing it at the enemies.
Y/N: I am Y/N Riario, daughter of a wealthy Templar and you, scums, better run away for I am done playing marionette for all his ridiculous schemes. Leonardo, I'm telling you only once to run away before I start killing off these roaches. Leo: I'm staying! Y/N: Suit yourself. Vittoria agli Assassini!
With that, she lashed out at the many enemies in front of her, slashing left and right with an unimaginable elegance and grace, her moves seemingly like ballet on a grand stage, being splattered with ruby droplets of blood from the ones attacking her and the person she came to have feelings for. She let her rage transform into focus and discipline, taunting the uneducated guards and making them lose their attention, as she easily severed heads and limbs. Nonetheless, her focus was broken once she heard a shrill scream from behind, which upon further inspection, was Leonardo running away, just as he was told. 'Good' she thought, as she continued fighting those bastards who thought defiling her home would be a good idea.
However, she was soon overwhelmed, since her father's army took over the place and captured her. Her interrogation wasn't easy, especially after admitting to side with the assassins. It seemed like an eternity, which couldn't have even been more than 2-3 days, until she was finally moved to what seemed like a temple, where to her horror, she saw Leonardo on the ground, his hands bound behind his back, and clearly beaten up, just like her.
Y/N: You...You monster! What has he done to you?! Nothing! He's innocent! Dad: No, he's not! He works for those filthy assassins! Y/N: Then kill me, instead! I killed your stupid Templars, not him! Dad: Silly little Y/N...Didn't I tell you I need you? Of course, only for some ties to be knotted together, but still, a very important role. Y/N: To hell with it! I'd rather burn in the deepest pits of Hell than help you or get married to some scum like that! Dad: Anyone can be subdued with just a little bit of persuasion...Quite like this.
With that, he kicked Leonardo's belly once again, earning a gasp of pain from the latter, and a protest from the girl. Protest, which was answered with a guard grabbing her hair tightly and pushing her to the ground.
Y/N: Tu, figlio di puttana bastardo! Tu, cane! Mostro! Bestia! I will kill you! Dad: I'd like to see you try, figlia.    (daughter)
With angry tears flooding her eyes, she took the dagger hidden in her sleeve, cut off her hair in a swift move, then got up as fast as lightning, cut the guard's throat and stole his sword.
Y/N: You and me, padre! Let us fight to death, if you're as brave and righteous as you say you are and we shall see on which side your God is! Dad: What a stubborn, ungrateful daughter I have raised! I should have had a son, not such a putana like you! Y/N: You wanted a son, and a son you got! Just, not in the body you wished for.
They fought as well as any soldier did, her father being if not, only slightly impressed by her sparring skills and the fact that, despite her injuries, she still held herself well against someone as big and built as he was. What he didn't know, was that agility and speed were her allies, and as she twirled to his side, she managed to thrust the blade into his throat. Blood gushed like a fountain from the wound and he fell to the ground gasping like a fish on the land, which made her smirk in satisfaction.
"And you were wondering why I wanted to fight...Now you know. Revenge is best served by your own hand."
With that, she kicked his body off the platform they were staying at and got her dagger to cut the rope from Leonardo's wrists, hugging him tightly.
Y/N: I'm so sorry you had to be brought up into this mess I created! Leo: Ah...I should have seen it coming. It wasn't your fault, dear, it was my own. Y/N: *sighs* I...I just...I don't know what to say anymore... -?-: You can start by kissing him? Y/N: Ezio?! Cosa diavolo stai facendo qui?! (What the hell are you doing here?) Ezio: *chuckles* Salini helped me get here. Leo: See, Y/N? He's not as useless as you thought he was. Ezio: Couldn't have agreed more. Y/N: Fine, fine, you might be right, whatever. Ezio: You have beautiful swordsmanship. I applaud you, bella. Y/N: *grins* Grazie, bambino. Ezio: *narrows his eyes* I still think I'm older than you. Y/N: Who cares? And besides, what got you here? You wanted to rescue poor, little us? Ezio: *shrugs* I think you had everything under control. However, this temple... Leo: Holds many secrets! Let's go and find them out! Y/N: Need I remind you you're incredibly hurt? Leo: Don't argue with me, you know I'm stubborn when it comes to things like this. Y/N: *eye twitch* Yes, I think I noticed that, when you just wouldn't run away when I told you so. Leo: *laughs sheepishly* Mi dispiace. Ezio: *sighs* Just kiss already. Y/N: What, and let you see it? No way, dream on! Vaffanculo, Auditore! Ezio: *laughs* Ah, you'd be perfect together. Leo: Ezio...
Grinning, Ezio patted his friend's back, who was hiding his face in his hands, shy and embarrassed. It took a while to get through the temple and even that proved to be rather disappointing, but at least back at out cozy home, we could finally mend our wounds and take care of each other. She sat on the edge of the bed, already in her loose, slightly translucent nightgown, lost in her thoughts, looking at the dark sky full of stars through the window, the multitude of candles lighting the room dimly. So lost in her own mind she was, that she didn't hear the door opening softly and Leonardo coming in. He walked slowly to the other edge of the bed, looking at her fair, slightly tanned skin that seemed to be plastered with purple-ish bruises and pink-ish lines like a spider's web spread across her whole back, which made the man's heart sink with sorrow. Clearly, he was an artist, a man of science and knowledge, not a fighter, and yet, a part of him cursed his soft nature for allowing the one he loves the most to protect him, and in turn, get hurt, permanent marks on her flawless skin kissed by the Sun's rays.
He didn't even realise his own actions until he moved her now significantly shorter ebony hair from her shoulders, revealing her bare skin and gingerly tracing down the small sleeves of the dress. She looked past he shoulder shyly, already knowing it was him, and smiled so beautifully that it took his breathe-away.
Y/N: Ah, mi dispiace, Leonardo. I suppose I won't be able to let you paint me any time soon. Leo: No, I...I should be the one to apologise for letting this happen to you. Y/N: Don't be silly. I was expecting that to happen sooner or later. And besides, I got my revenge, so I'm rather happy about that. Leo: But your beautiful skin...You had to suffer so much... Y/N: And so did, right? It's fine. It's all over now. We can finally live in peace and enjoy a life of art and research. Isn't that what we wanted? Leo: It is...And yet... Y/N: What is bothering you so, my dear? Leo: I...Think there's something wrong with me. Everytime I see you...I get this weird feeling in my chest end... Y/N: *grins* Do you remember what Ezio said today? Leo: Which part? Y/N: This part-
Tracing his face with her hand, she leaned slightly backwards so she could tenderly plant a soft kiss on his lips, still smiling at his forming blush. It seemed like fire ignited between them and a spark of courage surged through his veins, for as he looked in surprise and wonder at the girl in front of him, he embraced her tightly, kissing her again with just as much passion, finally understanding the peculiar feelings that kept bothering him for so long. It was a fiery love for the person in front of him, the strong yet fragile woman standing in front of him, her eyes big and gentle like those of a doe and a voice as sweet as an angel's (when she wasn't murdering someone).
He loved how trapped she would be in her own fictional world while reading a book or staring into nothingness and just thinking. He loved how perfectly well she'd blend among those colourful flowers in the garden, surrounded by the mesmerising perfume. He loved how happy she'd look when she'd watch him work or sketch something, explaining it to her. He love how she'd help him out with brilliant ideas everytime he got stuck on a piece of work.
And what he loved the most about her... ...Was the fact that she, too, loved him just as much as he loved her- And she never ceased to show him every day.
Y/N: So, Leonardo, amore, did you say once that you wanted to paint me like one of your Italian girl~? How about you get your charcoal and paints, I'm sure you'll be needing them for quite a while~. Leo: Si, certo, and yet, I think spending the nights with you, instead of my work, would be much better. Y/N: I couldn't agree more, mi tesoro~.  (My treasure) Leo: Ah, cuore mio, tu sei la luce dei miei occhi. (My heart, you are the light of my eyes) Y/N: E tu sei mi vita, per sempre.  (And you are my life, forever)

Standing there and drumming your fingers on your arms when he burst out into maniacal laughter; something you had never seen him do, you remained almost expressionless until he abruptly stopped, raising his eyebrows when he realised you really weren't kidding.
"You want me to what!? You are insane, the Templars have rotted your head!"
Tapping the glass vial with the back of your finger when he tipped it out of the packet into his palm and, held it up with his forefinger and thumb out of intrigue, you seized it off him quickly when he looked like he was about to throw it out of the window; jumping up out of the chair in an almost hysterical rage.
"I knew you were not dead when I saw them carry you away, but do you have any idea what I went through? First my father, then I find out who you really are, and now you want me to...to..."
"Ratonhnhaké:ton, will you shut up for one second!" You screeched trying to get a word in edgeways, knowing that using his proper name would get his attention.
It did.
"I was serious when I said I wanted out at the funeral, and the only way I can do that is with your help. This will only mimic death."
Well, you hoped. Because if Charles had caught wind of who it was actually for, there wouldn't be any, mimicking about it.
"It'll put me in something like a coma, and slow my heart to nearly undetectable. Then that's where you come in. You'll need to um... present... my body to the Brotherhood, or they'll never believe it. I know I have no right to ask, but I beg of you. Please!?"
Taking a closer gander at the contents of the small bottle; as you never had a chance to before, while you let what you had just said sink in, you almost threw up in your mouth as you shook it and it looked like rancid black sludge, not looking forward to having that in your body, at all. It didn't go unnoticed that you were pulling a face similar to when he had forced you to drink his smoothie at the hospital, as he snatched it off you and unscrewed the metal top, holding it out of your reach until you stopped trying to get it back, sniffing it warily.
"What, is it??"
"I have no idea what's in it, I was told I would be better off not knowing. But I trust the person who made it for me."
Lie lie lie More lies, but the less he knew about where it came from, the better. Sitting on the floor with your legs crossed and holding your chin in your hands while he calmed down slightly; his temperament as variable as yours used to be, and he deliberated your request, your ears pricked up when he finally mumbled something, but you didn't make out a single word.
"What?"
"Are you doing it, to be with him? That... Templar."
Trying not to grit your teeth and frown when he said that last bit with malice, you needed to choose your next words carefully as you had no doubt, that one wrong thing said and he point blank refuse, then this would all be over.
"I'm not gonna pull any punches here, it is partly. But I'm tired. Tired of deceiving everyone, trying to figure out what's right and what's wrong, I just don't know anymore."
Lowering your head when it looked like he had already made up his mind and marched towards the door, you wracked your brain for the name of someone else you could ask, but as before, there was no one you could come up with that you either trusted enough or wouldn't actually kill you for real on the spot. Not that you could blame him of course, this was already a million to one shot in the first place, and Shay knocking him unconscious definitely didn't help your cause in the slightest.
"Are you coming or not? I am not the only one looking for you, which I am sure you are aware of."
Jumping up wide-eyed when he just stood there holding the door open, you went to hug him but stopped in your tracks when his entire body visibly tensed up, definitely not wanting to push your luck right now.
"This does not mean I forgive you, but it is better than the alternative. I am assuming you have already planned out exactly what you want to do?"
You nodded as you took the vial back off him and took one last look around with a heavy sigh, slamming the door behind you and making your way down to the street.
Absentmindedly picking at the bark of the tree you were slumped up against as you waited for Connor to arrive, you stared up towards the sky to try and see the stars through the foliage, but as nothing peeked through, you settled on checking your watch for what felt like the millionth time in ten minutes. If he didn't turn up soon, all of this would go to shit as you knew Shay would eventually come looking for you, and that's exactly what you didn't need right now. You had managed to fend him off for a while by messaging that you were tying up a few loose ends, but that was several hours ago, and the clock was ticking.
Clambering up when you heard the unmistakable sound of Connors Jeep traversing through the forest, you opened the trunk when he eventually pulled up, staring confusedly at the completely barren space.
"You didn't get it?!"
"Of course I did, I wasn't going to leave it out where everyone could see it," He grumbled as he lifted a compartment in the floor to reveal a portable defibrillator.
"Okay. Remember the plan? We're running out of time."
Climbing into the trunk and pulling out the vial along with a syringe of clear liquid to counter the concoction that Haytham had also given you, you held the needle out to Connor, thrusting it into his hand when he was hesitant in taking it.
"You will swallow that.. that, poison, then I will take you to the manor to show everyone, drive you to the docks, stab you with this, electrocute you. I-I am not sure I can do it. You are making me as bad as you, deceiving our friends, our, family-"
"Then you might as well finish what you started. I'd rather meet my end at your hand than anyone else's."
"Why not just run? I for one would be happy never to see you again." He sneered, making you freeze to the spot utterly aghast as you never realised he could be so cold.
He continued to match your stare for several moments before his face dropped to a sorrowful expression, with you laying your hand on his arm dubiously as he stuffed the injection into his pocket.
"I am sorry. Or not, I do not know anymore. Because of you, I am angry, but also sad, and you still haven't given me a good reason why?"
Sighing heavily as you could only imagine the weight that you had inadvertently dropped on his shoulders, you slid your hand into your coat and plucked out a crisp white envelope, wafting it in front of his face to get his attention.
"There isn't time to explain now, but everything is in here. What happened, why I did it, everything. I know I could apologise a million times over and it still wouldn't be enough, but it's the best I could do."
Laying down and getting yourself comfortable (not that it mattered) as he peered into the envelope with a nod, and looked confused as there was a smaller one nestled along with several folded pieces of paper, you opened the vial and knocked back its contents in one swallow before he could change his mind again, coughing and almost throwing it straight back up as the foul sludge slid down your throat.
"Could you, find some way of giving that other one to Shay?" You mumbled, surprised that you were already starting to feel drowsy.
"Another favour? You are pushing your luck (name)."
"I know..." was the last thing to pass your lips as your head swam and everything went dark.
Connor stood staring at you for a few moments watching the colour drain from your face, the rise and fall of your chest slowing, almost panicking when it took him a solid minute to find your pulse because it was so weak. His hands were shaking as he quickly set a two hour alarm on his watch, pausing for a moment as he went to close the trunk. Leaning over, he lifted your shirt just enough so he could see your stomach, wincing when he saw the scar he had given you a few weeks ago. It had nearly completely healed, but still a dark shade of pink and slightly puckered as he ran his thumb over it, choking back a sob and swallowing hard so the tear burning at his eye didn't fall. Picking up a pouch of blood he had collected along with the defibrillator, he carefully tore the top and spilt some onto your chest over where your heart was and, used his blade to slice a small hole in your top, the ruse now complete.
"I shall, miss you (name)," he whispered, closing the back up and jumping in the front seat to take you to the manor.
Almost everyone he had messaged was already stood outside when he pulled up, all looking slightly unnerved at what could be so important to be called out like this. Connor took a deep breath as he turned off the engine and jumped out to face his colleagues, now wanting to get this over with as fast as possible.
"Hey big guy, what the hell is going on? Better be a good reason for dragging us out the pub!"
He ignored the jeering from Jacob; who was now nudging Eddie in the arm which made him nod in agreement, pushing past Desmond and Altaïr so he could get to the boot of his car, sombre and expressionless as he clicked the latch. They all moved in closer when Connor dropped to the floor and buried his head in his hands, the air going thick and silent as they peered in, their eyes unmoving from your pale, lifeless body. Nobody moved or spoke as the took in the heart-wrenching sight before them, until another car sped up the drive and halted with a skid, with Ezio jumping out and running over, panic-stricken as he barged everyone out of the way.
"Cara...no..." He whispered as he slid his arms underneath you and, pulled your body into his arms. "I am so sorry. I knew, knew I should have gotten you out sooner."
Connor, who had refused to look at anyone while this was going on, stood up slowly as Ezio lay you back down, crossing your arms over your chest before trailing his fingertips over your cheek.
"What do you mean, gotten her out sooner?" Connor growled lowly, as everyone's focus immediately turned to your mentor.
"I suppose, there is no point in keeping it hidden anymore as she is, gone. I sent (name) to infiltrate the Templars, undercover to find the Assassin hunter that has been plaguing us for years. I knew something wasn't right when I last saw her at the warehouse, but I did not think it would come to this-"
Ezio didn't have the chance to finish explaining as Connor let out a bellowing roar, grabbing him by his coat and throwing him against his Jeep with enough force that it dented the side panel, a sickening thud echoing through the air.
"You, did this to her!!?"
It took all four of the other men to pry Connor away from Ezio and keep him a bay, his flailing about knocking Altaïr to the floor while Eddie was screaming at him to calm the hell down, but he paid no attention and continued to try and get to Ezio, even with Jacob clinging onto his legs so he couldn't move.
"How could you! It is all your fault! I should rip your head off!"
"Enough!" Ezio gasped, taking a moment to pull himself straight and catch his breath when everyone momentarily froze. "I shall forgive this, outburst because I know you are upset. But touch me like that ever again, and I assure you it will be the last thing you ever do!"
Connor hung his head in shame as he knew he shouldn't have lashed out towards a master like that, but as his nerves felt like they were ripped bare at everything that was going on, he couldn't help it. Pushing Eddie from in front of him and shaking Jacob off his legs, he calmly closed the trunk and pulled out his keys from his pocket, frowning as he glanced at his watch and saw that he only had just over an hour left.
"Sorry. It is a lot to handle, it won't happen again. This, assassin hunter. Who is he?"
Ezio cocked his slightly head as he scrutinised Connors expression; picking up on that he was holding something back, but rather than aggravate the situation and pry as to what it was, he decided to simply answer the question and hope that he would reveal what he was hiding.
"No one knows. That's what (name) was sent to find out, although she assured me that the Templars never revealed his identity. All we know is that he favoured wearing a long black coat, and mask."
Connor subtly shot Jacob a hardened stare when he went to no doubt chirp up about how he'd seen someone like that in London, then again on the Jackdaw; his jaw snapping shut as fast as it opened, before jumping into his front seat and rubbing his face as everything started to make sense.
"Connor. (Name) chose her own path, it isn't my fault she strayed from it. All I asked of her, was to do her job. Where are you taking her?"
"To bury her of course. What else would I be doing?" He grumbled angrily, going to slam his door shut but was stopped by Ezio grabbing it.
"I will come with you. I wish to say my goodbyes also."
Before he had a chance to argue, Ezio had spun on his heel and pace walked to his car, starting the engine and flashing his lights in signalling for him to lead the way. Connors' knuckles were almost white as he gritted his teeth and slowly pulled out of the drive; heading back towards the forest, his brow furrowing painfully as he contemplated how he was now going to lose not only Ezio, but also the red shadow that had been lingering in the treetops for the past half an hour.

Can I ask all for Tenja or Ezio (or both c;) for the NPC asks? -v-
Hi, yes, I did both kitties, which mean it took me too long and got tired of trying to make any sense halfway through it, so sorry if it doesn’t make any sense or it’s just lame here and there. :’D
Tenja Rel
1. Would they be recruitable?
As a new Jedi in training, yes, I pretty much think so. Sith is harder since he’s quite individualistic and has a pretty possessi-ehm, protective brother.
2. Would they be a class specific character? (ie. Imperial Agent only. Republic character only)
Probably Jedi specific. Either Consular or Knight both.
3. When would you recruit them? Vanilla story? an Expac? Post KOTET?
I think vanilla would be good, learning “peacefully” on the field the ways of Jedi.
4. Where would you recruit them from?
Probably directly from the Temple on Tython, going to pick him up for a mission you were assigned for by some of the higher-ups.
5. What would their recruitment mission be?
He wouldn’t really need one, since, simply put, he doesn't really have a choice, I’ll assume whatever missions the characters made so far in name of the Republic and jedi were enough as a vote of trust for the Council. If we are talking some sort of loyalty mission … maybe he asks you to accompany him on some sort of travel to Voss? To get some help for his blindness. Not to cure it, but to stop the phantom pains probably, or the general headaches from using the Force to “see” while not being yet fully used to it. It may also lead to a dream-travel adventure of sorts (with some comments of his regarding how he can somehow “see” you now.)
6.What would be their original recruitment outfit?
Visas Marr in an all-black dye.
7. Would there be a character they don’t like? Would that cause you to choose sides?
Well. There would be issues if he somehow came into contact with his brother, Di’taqt, so any sort-of public alliance with the Sith would probably be problematic.
8. Are they romancable? Why/why not?
They are, but it’s probably not one of the easiest shells to break. He didn’t really allowed himself love for the sake of it, I mean, his last wife blinded him in a fit of rage. Also, well, he doesn’t mind sex at all, because it what he was used to as a Sith and wasn’t going to go chaste just for the sake of old ass Jedi traditions, so there’s that. But, well. He doesn’t think love has a change to turn out well. He can be proved wrong, if one is willing to try.
9. What would they say if you clicked on them?
“I’m listening.” “What do you have in store for us today, my friend?” “At your service.” “I do wonder if it’s a wise idea.” “Mhnn, gossip. I like it.” “No one suspects the blind man.”
10. Do they know any other in game characters? (ie. trained under Satele Shan during the civil war. Knew Talos before he went to Hoth)
Aside from his brother and general Sith acquaintances I don’t think so.
11. What weapon(s) would they have?
His lightsaber, standard force-sensitive equipment. His sly charm.
12. Are they better as a tank, healer or DPS?
Essentially DPS but he can manage a decent amount of healing, at least for himself. His specialty consists in entropic redistribution of the Force, basically siphoning life force from his enemies to himself, wasting away his enemies while healing and strengthening himself.
13. What gifts do they Love? Like? What would they say when you gave them a gift?
Weapon and Trophy, probably. Doesn't mind Luxury and Courting either. - “Well. Someone will certainly find a use to it.” “Appreciated.” “For me? I’m honored.” “I.. thank you, my friend. It’s truly wonderful.”
14. What would they say if you sent them away/changed them out?
“I’ll be there when you need me.” “Good rest to you.” “Oh, you wound me, leaving so soon.” “I dare you to find company as good as mine, my friend.”
15. What do they say when they heal you? What do they say when they are attacking?
“Hush, hush. Better already, is it?” “Don’t die on me, my friend, I don’t need that kind of stress in my life.” “Fresh air and the the kiss of life.” - “Tut-tut, I’ll show how it’s done.” “Let it go. It will hurt less if you don’t fight it.” “You are lacking finesse. Not that it will matter for longer still.” “Do us a favor. Don’t get up.”
16. What’s their idle chatter like? Do they talk a lot (when you arrive on each planet) or do they suddenly say something in some strange places?
They certainly like to say something at each planet, idle stuff, less prone to start random conversations if unprompted.
17. What letters would they send post vanilla class story/SOR/KOTFE
Romance :
He would probably be so frustrated trying to write one, or think of a gift, but, yeah, letters are not his forte. He wouldn’t know what to write, how to explain, how to express what he feels. Not the full story of his life on paper would be enough to try to begin to put into words how he feels to this day next to them.
He will try to prove it, to show it, to make it spoken in a language he hopes the character will understand, but, no. Not in a letter. He will write invisible patterns on their skin, he will smile his gratitude and hold his hopes in their arms with them. And hope they understand.
Also he would have to dictate it to a holo-transcriptor and yeah, no.
18. If they are recruitable in vanilla story, where are they during KOTFE/TET? What are/were they doing?
Probably still with the Jedi. He didn’t have much choice, he couldn’t really go back to the Empire, and it’s not as if they were faring any better Tho I bet he was one of the most frustrated ones after the deal with Zakuul, very bitter. He may have left at a certain point to join some resistance’s group, if anything not to feel so useless.
Lucretyiio
1. Would they be recruitable?
Buy him food and he’s yours, honestly.
2. Would they be a class specific character? (ie. Imperial Agent only. Republic character only)
No, not really. He usually strays away from force sensitives and isn’t overly fond of the Empire, but well, he doesn’t judge people from covers. Or tries at least,
3. When would you recruit them? Vanilla story? an Expac? Post KOTET?
He’s pretty freestyle. He constantly asks for rides. Anytime would work.
4. Where would you recruit them from?
A Cantina. Could be anywhere from Coruscant, to Tatooine, to Nar Shadda.
5. What would their recruitment mission be?
Help him take down or stop some violent gang making business around probably, or something of the sort.
6.What would be their original recruitment outfit?
Canderous Ordo armor.
7. Would there be a character they don’t like? Would that cause you to choose sides?
Honestly.. Not really. There’s a lot of things he doesn’t like, but it’s not about choosing sides, not really, it’s about engaging ourselves to be the best we can possibly be. He doesn’t actually wants to shun or isolate people. He won't be comfortable or agree with everyone, but he wants to believe it’s doable while offering the chance to be united.
Honestly, like, yeah, he will vocally disagree to a lot of stuff if it involves violence, abuse and all that stuff. But he will stay as long as he believes in the cause. Being open about his opinions is also one of the ways he hopes will help changing things for the best and influence people with new ideas.
8. Are they romancable? Why/why not?
Yes, very. He’s so flirty. He just happens to become a mess if you flirt back. You may have to pick him up on a spoon. But he’ll sing all the love ballads to you.
9. What would they say if you clicked on them?
“Never wondered : why Banthas? No, like, that’s it. That’s the question. I can’t figure them out, mate.” “Why nothing rhymes with “Saresh”?” “Bada-mba-dababum mate, ya feel me?” “I. Need. Ice Cream.” “Oh shit, forgot the safety on the blaster.” “I’m here all day folks.” “No, man, you are the sidekick.”
10. Do they know any other in game characters? (ie. trained under Satele Shan during the civil war. Knew Talos before he went to Hoth)
Nope, don’t think so.
11. What weapon(s) would they have?
His brazen and melodious singing voice. His halliksete, if smashed on someone’s head. A blaster that he mostly knows how to use. Also smoke grenades. Because he often needs a diversion from when he needs to quickly disappear.
12. Are they better as a tank, healer or DPS?
He can damage things alright. Mostly willingly. I wouldn’t really trust him for anything else.
13. What gifts do they Love? Like? What would they say when you gave them a gift?
Underworld Good and Courting are his faves. Luxury and Cultural Artefact can work out. - “Hey, yeah, cool. What is it?” “Fancy ass cool, man!” “Fuck. Thanks.” “*sobbing*”
14. What would they say if you sent them away/changed them out?
“Hey, be back soon for another show.” “Yeeees, party time!” “No, yeah, of course I can be left to my own devices. No dangers. Ah.” “I’ll be back when you need me!”
15. What do they say when they heal you? What do they say when they are attacking?
“Hey. Wanna me to kiss it better?” “I’m trying!” “Hey, all better, Am I the best or am I the best?” “Oh fuck man that must have hurt.” - “Aaaand perfect strike for local handsome!” “Yes, that was… totally what I meant to do!” “Oh fuck that hurt.” “In your BEHIND, dude.”
16. What’s their idle chatter like? Do they talk a lot (when you arrive on each planet) or do they suddenly say something in some strange places?
He talks a lot. Don’t even get me started.
17. What letters would they send post vanilla class story/SOR/KOTFE
One of his letters, both romance and not-romance (tho romance’s content are slightly different) is the messy drafts of a song he’s trying to compose about the character. It’s some sort of epic tale, or brash cantina chant, or something more private. It’s a mess, with all his annotations. It’s very sincere. He says he never managed to finish it, and maybe it’s because he doesn’t want it to finish. Never.
18. If they are recruitable in vanilla story, where are they during KOTFE/TET? What are/were they doing?
Helping refugees. He started off really angry, blazen songs about Zakuul and how they all had to fight. Then… he just wanted to help people.
