the hc that Narcissa is a Metamorphmagus like Tonks but growing up in such a strict household she learned to control it. And it’s only when she finds out Regulus died when she looses control causing a breakdown and that makes half her hair turn half blonde half black.

for more than a year i've been thinking about michelle and niall mallon, and about james maguire, and i finally wrote something about it.
technically set in the maybe someday universe (and sharp-eyed readers will catch that this leads right up to the beginning of smoke break), but that’s really all tangential. this fic stands on its own.
Summary:
James remembers vividly the way Michelle’s anger had simmered until it was pouring off her in waves the first time his Auntie Deidre had called the empty upstairs bedroom, “James’s room.” __________ James Maguire meets Niall Mallon.

DP x DC Prompt #42
Billy's pretty pleased with his ability to keep his secret identity a secret from the League. The only ones who might know are Batman and his crew, but that was to be expected.
So, he's a little surprised when he spots a new hero who has joined Justice League: Dark who looks a lot like his cousin. Like, a lot a lot. Give him black hair and blue eyes, and that's Danny ... Oh holy shit Phantom's Danny! When did Danny become a ghost?
Billy hopes Danny won't tattletale to his mom. That'd be a nightmare.

eddie 100% gets into petty arguments with your little cousins around the holidays when you visit them and i just think that’s neat
eddie: so what are you guys gonna ask santa for this year?
your cousin: aren’t you too old to still believe in santa?
eddie: aren’t you too old to not know how to count past 50?
your cousin: aren’t you too old to not be married?
eddie: at least i’m dating someone, what do you have? leap frog and a snotty nose.
your cousin: i’ve had a girlfriend before!
eddie: you’re like 8 years old man she just wanted free scoob snacks.
you: okay! eds come help me with the dishes please😀
eddie: but we did them yesterday—
you: now.
eddie: right behind you.

🔥the Michelle and James dynamic
listen, is michelle an asshole to james? yes. but tbh, from michelle's perspective, james is a total dick.
put in a cut because of length, not trying to clog up dashboards here.
like think about season 1: he's foisted upon her family by her totally absent and obnoxious aunt who did everything she could to assimilate into the culture of the oppressor and who thinks she's better than all of them, and then james, too, proceeds to act (in michelle's eyes) like he's above it all. his outburst at the chippy? how many times do you think he's turned up his nose at dinner that deidre has made/bought for him to get to that point where he loses it? and then to have that outburst in fionnula's, in front of everyone? it's downright insulting, what gives him the right? he's so entitled and acts so put upon as if he's not perfectly fine and safe and well cared for, not to mention he's fucking boring. he'd be inconvenient anyways, and now michelle has to manage all of this extra bullshit too? no thank you, but also he should be glad she's even letting him tag along.
what i do love is that this totally transitions into the most sibling energy of all sibling energy and by season 3 you can tell that they do actually like each other even if the words coming out of their mouths sound the same. it's incredibly meaningful that james sticks with michelle through hers and erin's fight; i don't think we would have seen anything close to that in season 1. in conclusion: i love them, your honor.
eta because i'm still thinking about this: i love, love, love derry girls because it's always both/and with all characters. maybe that's too vague; what i mean is that i love that i can see this about michelle and how james appears to her while also understanding that james is going through intense culture shock, has been abandoned by the one person who he loves and is his one constant in life, clings to anyone who gives him even an ounce of support (father peter, katya, ms de brun), would like to try to make friends with some lads who won't shit on him all the time, doesn't like fried foods (valid), is afraid of the british soldiers (also valid), and just would - please, it's not too much to ask - like to have someone let him use a fucking bathroom. and now he has michelle making literally every part of all of this even more difficult and lonely and isolating when it would already be all of that on its own without her. and i don't think any of this makes michelle a bad person. both hers and james's experiences of each other can be true at once. that's how we all operate in life every day. and it is pretty masterfully portrayed in derry girls.

Will we ever see any designes or concept art for Spencer's siblings? Besides his younger brother mallard?
How many siblings does Spencer have?
What do you think Spencer looked like when he was younger?
spencer has 8 siblings, with him being the third oldest. in order from oldest to youngest is nigel (named after the gresleys’ very distant relative), golden shuttle, spencer, mallard, bittern, gadwall, osprey, dominion of canada, and peregrine. most of these aren’t their real names in casa tidmouth but I put them here anyways so you know which lner a4 they’re “based off”
at the moment, I don’t have sketches of them because I need to think about their designs (dominion of canada looks oddly similar to mallard, and I need to give at least one of them a full beard AND HAVE ANOTHER NATURAL BLONDIE), but I do have a plan to show them alongside gordon’s late siblings and their updated designs.
speaking of younger spencer though, I managed to finish this mini lineup of the three most recurring gresleys in their smallest states.
Tumblr media
younger spencer enjoyed pulling younger gordon into his stupid ideas like climbing trees or stealing a flower pot from the neighbor’s yard because he’s easily convinced and spencer promised to give gordon 50 pounds if he does it. in reality spencer just wanted to see gordon get grounded for once. spencer would also try to pin the blame on gordon when they get caught but nobody would believe him. then he’ll get a flick to the forehead by younger scott. such is the suite life of the gresleys when things were more peaceful

You have thoughs regarding Kanna & Katara's relationship?
SO MANY <- please do click on that link bc i think it’s actually one of the best posts i’ve ever made, but also my whole kanna&katara tag slaps bc it’s secretly one of my favorite relationships in the entire show. like there’s just something so fascinating to me about the way that kanna is established to have been exactly like katara when she was a kid, and yet now she embodies the repressive paradigm that forces katara to do gendered domestic labor and limits where she can go and what she can do. and also that dynamic is pretty subtle, because our last scene with kanna (in the present) is her giving katara her blessing and telling her that she gave her hope after all these years. like it’s not that she wants to be this overbearing nag who forces katara to tire herself out with chores all day, but she also knows exactly how katara thinks because she once was her, so she’s like “if she goes outside she will get IDEAS and RUN AWAY to the NORTH POLE.” and then she does. chiasmus moments!!!! clapping and cheering for chiasmus!!!!!
kanna is SUCH an important presence in katara’s life, and I think before katara learns about what kanna did and how she grew up (from yagoda, from pakku, and from hama) she kind of just takes her for granted because again, she’s just her overbearing nagging grandma who always takes sokka’s side and clearly thinks she should also act like a miserable boring adult. but what’s crazy about that is that katara is also so obviously her favorite?? like sokka is the golden child (not that katara is the scapegoat, to be clear, sokka is just The Good One to katara’s untamable rebellious spirit) but katara is still her favorite. specifically because she loves katara’s passion and drive and desire for adventure and revolution.
kanna is struggling between her desire to indulge katara in her wild fantasies and her need to keep her safe at all costs. she’s the one who tells katara the stories of the avatar in the first place. she is the one who first forms that inexorable spark within her. katara is the spitting image of kanna, in every way. she has her drive, her sense of adventure, her conviction and determination, her love, her hope, her sense of justice, her penchant for telling stories. katara gets it all from her, including her necklace. and there’s something just so undeniably lovely and poignant about that, the strength of the bond between women across multiple generations who have lost so much and struggled due to imperialist violence, but have also resisted, and fought, and passed down stories they told themselves to survive, and given each other hope.
