Part of me wonders if Serra takes such a shine to and is overtly dragging Erk around because she sees herself in him. Perhaps she too was a shy, socially awkward, severe guy at one point and she wants to help Erk come out of his shell and start enjoying life outside of his studies more. There's more to this but I feel like a lot of people would not take too kindly to it so I'll sadly have to leave it here lest I risk some not too nice words.

Sain is bisexual with a very heavy fem lean; Kent is also bi but with no strong lean.

Florina is a lesbian.

Erk is a trans man who uses he/they, and he’s on the aroace spectrum. He’s very indifferent to relationships, but he’s not against them.

Vaida is a trans women who uses she/her, and she’s pan.

Uther is gay, and he’s very open to this.

📖 + Fire Emblem

((Instinctively I know the answer to this one: Florina, from Blazing Sword.

Blazing Sword in particular was one of my favorite games as a kid, and Lyn is still like a childhood hero to me. But because all the respect I have for her, I never tried RPing as her? I have a similar situation with other characters I loved at the time, too...

But you know the best way to guarantee you get to interact with any Lyn in a given FE community, and get to be really gay for in-game reasons? It's by playing Florina. So aside from the fact I already love the character for who she is, she plays really well into what I like for other reasons.

... and no, I swear a character doesn't need to be gay-coded for me to like/play them, it's just... I dunno, IT HAPPENS--))

he always wondered if you meant him when you said that, if he was that someone you loved that you'd rather be with than with your fiance

but in the end, it didn't matter

you two could never be together, even if you really did love him

you were promised to someone else

depression man! Kent is there too

you'll remember that alllll the way back in chapter 21, Heath was recruitable because his asshole boss blackmailed him into fighting us with the threat of sending him to Bern, where he'd be hanged as a traitor. this is mostly setup however, the real stuff is in their B

Kent really is just a bro. not winning any awards but he's cool

7/10, nothing special but it does what it needs to

Erk + Priscilla A

she explains that she's following Eliwood and also that she's broke

okay, Erk revealing that he was staying too was pretty funny.

8.5/10. slightly above-average romance subplot

Harken + Isadora C

this is how the support starts, we're just jumping into it

Isadora shellacking Harken for the problems he caused in his revenge crusade is not what I expected in their C, but I'm here for it

this is what modern FE we-have-to-make-everyone-compatible-with-the-avatar writing is missing. preestablished couples for the win

I love how she doesn't just roll over and make nice. Harken is allowed to be in the wrong here even though they're both very sympathetic characters. I like that a lot

I really like their dynamic in general. two adults that have believable relationship problems while also having distinct and interesting personalities? in my Fire Emblem?? you'd best believe it

the support ending there is a little abrupt, but it's not a big deal

8/10 it's solid setup. Isadora framing the conversation in terms of duty while also circling back to her personal feelings is pretty neat

next time: minipost! we hop over to the Lloyd 23E file and see a few differences

Erk's got joint issues I think. Especially in the knees n elbow joints. Somewhat because he was found out in the snow after who knows how long. That and I'm also giving him an unbalanced gait - too much weight on one leg which on its own can cause pain.
