You made some comedic scenes where you have minor villains Pilaf & co. appear; how did you come up with a balance between laughs and fierce battles? Do you pay attention to the difference between comedy and battle in making a work “entertaining”?

I believe that, when you combine comedy and serious battles, both of them might come alive even more. As for me personally, though, I much prefer drawing dumb jokes to battle scenes.

In the latest movie, Toriyama-san, you participated in the production from the scriptwriting stage for the first time. What is the reason for that? Was there anything you noticed in coming face-to-face with the work after so long?

I was told about a project for Dragon Ball in its first animated film in a long while, and I read the story outline; while the beings “Beerus, God of Destruction” and “Super Saiyan God” (which goes above Super Saiyan) were interesting, the themes were heavy, and I felt that the world was a bit different from Dragon Ball. Rather than telling them about this or that problematic spot, I thought it would be faster if I just wrote it out concretely, and while I had intended just to give them a model―”for example”―my hand wouldn’t stop, and ultimately, I ended up writing almost everything, including the dialogue. I am reflecting on the fact that I did something terribly rude to the scriptwriter.

when I am dead my dearest - I always planned on finishing this series with a fourth addition from Jack's POV wrapping up the idea of the 3 main people in Danny/Phantom's life who don't know his identity

The Road Not Taken finale fic - I know BNHA isn't the juggernaut it once was and most people have no interest in this AU anymore but I dreamed up this finale at pretty much the same time I was ending TLWA so if I don't write it I think I may actually die

Copper and Silver - my literally 98% done fem Kaito DCMK genderbend story that, for some reason, I cannot scrape up the motivation to finish

Gold in the Sunlight - my long Billy Batson reveal fic that is totally planned out and has maybe one chapter completed but again, I'm in and out of DC

Unnamed sequel to We'll Meet Again Some Sunny Day - Yeah I had jokingly laid out what would happen after the end of the fic and now I really want to write it. It and a potential middle fic are outlined

Y'all why the fuck was I going back through my doffy wips after ages and realised that 4 months ago I blacked the fuck out one night at like 3am and wrote 5-6 paragraphs of the most descriptive, heart wrenching thing I've ever read.

AND ITS IN MY NOTES? I WROTE THAT?!

genuinely reading the dialogue pulls at my heart strings(hehe strings anyway-) it's from doffys pov(atleast so far)which makes it a bit strange but holy shit you just get to peak into this man's thoughts in the best way.(It's so sweet too🥲)

I'd describe the story but I don't wanna spoil it. However I may not even post it because I doubt the rest of the story could compare to how poetic the beginning is.

I suck at writing beginnings(it holds me back a lot cause I know what's gonna happen but I can't get there.) but this is the most poetic shit and it actually makes sense,aside from a few very moments where I use the wrong word.

Btw I also have question regarding the end of that. I can't tell whether sleepy brain was correct or I'm correct. Sleepy me said a window was projecting light but shouldn't it be reflecting? Listen I know that's really dumb but google sucks.

I'm sorry for this big ol ramble out of nowhere lmao I just went back and reread my masterpiece and god it's great.

Feel like one of the best ways you can convince someone that no, villains with compelling motives that have sad backstories are not terrible writing compared to straight up born evil villains who just want to kill everyone and be done with it, is to tell them that Warrior Cats writes born evil villains constantly while literally preaching “That’s how evil works, you can’t CHANGE, you’re either touched by demons at birth or you aren’t!” and it blows chunks

Writing this Cody and Rex reunion has me going absolutely feral. I am legit listening to my sad romance breakup/makeup playlist on Spotify.

Not because I'm shipping Codex here but the vibes its the vibes of this scene.

No one warned Cody that Rex was alive because they either didn't know (Slick) or just assumed he'd been told (Echo and Gregor)

Meanwhile Rex knew and legit hauled ass from the other end of the galaxy but hasn't allowed himself to really believe it until he actually saw Cody.

I might vibrate through time and space because the emotions I am experiencing while writing this scene is gonna send me into another dimension. I just love my Rex and Cody reunion scenes which is why I wrote that purely self-indulgent post Geonosis Cody lands on planet after the battle trying to keep his shit together while trying to find out of Rex survived his first battle without him.

Which...Imma go re-read real quick so I can make some call backs cause ugh that fic also gives me all the feels.

Today in “apparently this crappy show will haunt me forever,” I mentioned the jukebox musical we did for my high school freshman year, Back To The Eighties, while talking to someone. Including bringing up the Star Wars dream sequence set to the theme from The Greatest American Hero - and no, I have no idea why they chose an entirely different property’s theme song for a Star Wars dream sequence. Even if they couldn’t get the rights you’d think they’d have chosen something that wasn’t a theme song? Anyway.

On the way home, what comes up on the radio but Believe It Or Not, theme song from The Greatest American Hero. My mom and I find this very funny and sing along because how can you not, and keep singing even as we enter a tunnel and the signal cuts out. I time the instrumental break in my head and continue. My mom can’t keep track of it and wonders out loud as we finish the song what part it’ll be at when we get out of the tunnel, shortly before we do.

Me: I know I go fast in my head but I remember how long the lightsaber fight is, we’ll probably be at the very end or the very start of the next song.

We exit the tunnel on the very last notes of Believe It Or Not. I was in this show fifteen years ago and wasn’t even in this number. Score one for Regalli’s musical memory, I guess.
