i'm not sure how many on radblr are aware of this, but there is an artist named Jingna Zhang who for the last year has been battling a very nasty court battle revolving copyright of her art after it was intellectually stolen by a man. Zhang is a photographer with a very beautiful and specific style (insta: zemotion), and a male painter completely stole an image of hers and entered his painting, a nearly identical replica, into a contest and won a cash prize from stealing her entire photo! Rightfully, Zhang was upset and got a lawyer after he did, and this went to court. Yesterday, it was announced she had won her lawsuit after the first time where she had to appeal the lower courts decision that it didn't, a huge win for copyright law in general, but it's soured by how much racism and misogyny Zhang has suffered over the year and it's now just as bad since she's won the lawsuit.
I just wanted to share her story and tell everyone to go show your support to her and other female artists. People, likely all men, were harassing her for a year and still to this day that the lawsuit was frivolous and she was "throwing a hissy fit" about him stealing her art, to the point they doxxed her. The cruel mix of racism and misogyny she dealt with is just vile, you can see some of the replies and threats shes received on her insta and twitter. This was the art in question on the left vs her photo on the right:

men are not creative, men steal every creative work under the sun from women and they act like chickens with their head cut off when women fight back. why won't the woman easily be pushed aside and let me steal what's not mine? why would this woman think she owns something i want myself? hope Jeff Dieschburg and his supporters rot and he becomes a penniless nobody for the rest of time and digs himself a shallow grave.

The fact that Priya is the only canon female winner is sick. Gwen and Heather both deserved to definetly win their seasons. Heather's world tour ending is so good and the fact that it didn't air in Canada so it's not the official ending is so stupid.

Like 8 different celebrity scandal/news events have happened this week, and meanwhile I’m still processing Joe Jonas’ vitriolic smear campaign against Sophie Turner. That shit ignited a flame deep inside my raging feminist soul✊🏼

in many ways blue lock is a story that could have never been told about women (I mean this in a bad way) which is why it's so interesting to do exactly that

minx is interesting. It’s interesting and it’s interested in things in a way that I find a lot of current media about feminism not to be. There’s an active interest into poking into some of the uncomfortable areas without simple conclusions when it comes to how feminism should relate to sex and the market/capitalism.
also really appreciate the unapologetic 70’s ness and the use of 70’s events, catchwords, buzz etc in a way that doesn’t always feel tee hee
#Like idk if it always comes to the Conclusions but is really interesting to see a show which is ABOUT feminism and what it actually is#With imperfect people#What does it /mean/ to make something feminist and what does it mean when that thing has to be sold#There’s a couple moments so far that are like well this would blow someone’s mind off#It’s interesting to chew on relative to Daisy jones lol#I’m not going to say it’s anti capitalist but it’s also not that type of subliminal capitalist fantasy show#That just ignores the demands of capitalism to write off a world for the people who’ve already won#Very much almost in Convo with something like the bold type or classic sex and the city for that#Like the whole second episode thing with the ads#the ads unapologetically sucking and being soooo sexist#And upper class country club goer white feminist Joyce /also/ being extremely confined mentally to sexist advertising#Like I hate the edible panties. U know what’s great? Shampoo and makeup#And Doug mentioning that if they /don’t/ advertise the cost of the magazine will go above most people’s ability to pay for it#Like. It’s a show Thinking about a lot of this#I think Joyce is so interesting because she’s both so much more radical and so much more flawed than a lot of the /girlboss/ characters out#There. She’s the rare example of an upper class white feminist that I think the narrative is aware of the class part at least#And she’s flawed and kind of mean and totally out of it#And also like. 5000% more radical than a lot of the the equivalents#Like she isn’t trying to publish Feel Empowered with Sexy Lipstick articles#She’s trying to publish articles about birth control marital rape and abortion access#And her issues often come from where the radicality of her vision is being compromised by praxis#Like that’s so interesting

In Honor of TDoV, I am de-transitioning
I am not Visible! Public trans narratives do not include my experiences nor the many others like me. If I am not an acknowledge part of the trans scene- it is not safe for me to continue identifying as trans . I am "woman" now (cis even because i'll still be treated better with that identity. then again, i don't really understand woman- but suck it i'm in your bathrooms now fucking kill me why don't you; you nearly have time and before) it sucks so hard being a marginalized 'man' so I'm 'detransitioning' like i still get bothered to do by cis on a weekly basis, anyway. if it will just shut people up, and give me some benefits (most of which I'm long overdue), so i'm not dead or destitute. Do you know how much I've lost because I'm trans and a "man" but not a woman? people only gender me 'correctly' when they want to hurt me or for trans brownie points [ or places i'm stealth but y'know] Trans spaces in the year 2024 are NOT inclusive of men, and that includes many trans people who are perceived as not-femme-enough to be trans. Stop only spot-lighting feminine men (if any men get spotlight at all) Acknowledge more narratives. Maybe, woman can share the spotlight so that men, intersex, and anti-femme-non-binaries can be recognized for once in our invisible existence #tiredofit
