Can intermittent fasting help you burn fat? Intermittent fasting is a way of eating that involves short-term fasts. There are many types of intermittent fasting. The most popular ones are: - Fasting for 24 hours once or twice a week. - Fasting everyday for 16 hours by skipping breakfast and eating between 12 noon and 8 pm. - Limiting calorie intake to 500-600 calories a day for one or two days a week. There are many positive changes in the body when this is done regularly: - Increases human growth hormone that can aid fat loss and muscle gain. - Decreases insulin and lower levels of insulin facilitate fat burning. - The nervous system sends norepinephrine to the fat cells, making them break down body fat into free fatty acids that can be burned for energy. Intermittent fasting gives best results in combination with training. Of course training should not be done while fasting unless you want to pass out :) Always remember that you need to listen to your body. It's normal to feel some discomfort but if you feel dizzy or confused then it means that it's time to eat something and if these symptoms continue then maybe it's time to find a different way to lose weight or burn fat. So I started a fitness Insta so I can mentally hold myself accountable because I know ppl will be watching me. I was super nervous to do this because who isn't self conscious about how they look and what people think. So I figured putting myself out there and being vulnerable would force me to stick with it. Cause to be honest, some days I want to give up and sit on the couch and eat whatever I want to. I've been going strong for 3 months and I don't want to give up. Hi. So I’m back..
..and very motivated to start over my journey and this time actually stick to it.
I created this tumblr about 2 years ago or so and since then I did loose some weight but fitnesswise I’m definitely not where I want to be. So this is what I’m gonna work on. This tumblr is hopefully gonna help keep me motivated, I’ve tried using only my journal the past few months but I just love the fitness community here and the way everyone is helping the other. Very wholesome and very motivating! So let’s get started, into a healthier life and a happier me.

I’ve been trying to do more cardio. So far, It’s been horrible but I haven’t been feeling as sick since I started doing more cardio. Coincidence? Vanmiddag gingen we voor de eerste keer zonder afspraak sporten. Puur op eigen initiatief 💪🏻 Mag ook wel als je een abonnement hebt afgesloten.. Maar ik moet zeggen, achteraf was ik wel weer enorm trots op dat we het hadden gedaan. Op het moment dat je benen verzuren op de fiets, of dat je in een bevalhouding op een of ander vaag apparaat zit denk je wel anders. Maar achteraf? Dan denk ik yes, kom maar door met dat blokje chocolade of extra koekje bij de thee 😂🙌🏻 . . . This afternoon we went to the gym for our first hour of fitness without having an appointment💪🏻 you have to when you have a subscription.. But I have to say, after the work out I was very proud of us. When you're riding the bike or sitting in a labour position on fitness equipment, you think different. But when you're done? Nutrition can certainly be a complex topic, but there are certain principles that we just don’t need to overthink. Here are some “fast facts” to help you stop over-complicating your eating.
1. The frequency you eat doesn’t matter. One meal or five will have the same affect at the end of the day if the food is the same.
2. If you want to lose weight, you need to be in a caloric deficit. How you get into a deficit will vary, and maybe there are some obstacles in your way, but it still holds true.
3. Drink your water. It’s important for pretty much everything.
4. There is no food you CAN’T have. Restrictive diets that tell you that you have to avoid certain foods are not worth following.
5. If your goal is weight loss, you technically don’t need to worry about your micronutrients, but they are very important for your overall health.
6. The exact way you split up your fat/protein/carbs depends completely on your lifestyle and needs.
7. See number 1. You can split your meals up however you want, whenever you want.
8. Don’t be afraid to eat fat. Women, eating enough fat is especially important for dem hormones.
9. If you went keto and lost weight that’s great- but it’s not magic. Keto put you in a caloric deficit.
10. No matter your goals, you don’t have to count your calories or track your macros. It can certainly help, but it’s not a necessity.

Okay so today's work out was cut short but I managed to work up a really good sweat!
I bought a toning bar with resistance bands. That was fun to try to figure out. I should've recorded myself doing it cause the look of confusion would've made some of you cry laughing.
