anyways! that's pretty much what it is when it comes to college and frankly? i just wanna get it over with like literally the only highlight to it is seeing my friends and spending time with my boyfriend 😭 but!! a social science major sounds cool! i'd say you have some pretty good goals set in mind and you can always take up a minor if you want to pursue the others :> (i did consider having music as a minor) and sure! the courses depend on what you pick really and the college/professor, online is just about the same as in-person if you have a lot of reading on a pc to do tbh. english classes are well. kind of like the ones in high school but college-leveled. just make sure you give yourself enough time to do assignments bc they can be painful :"D

emmrich has this banter with harding, where she asks him if he ever thought about what he would have done if he hadn't become a watcher.

he doesn't have an answer at the time she asks him, it comes to him later, after some thought:

emmrich: a botanist! harding: what? emmrich: i considered your earlier question, and if i weren't a watcher, i should like to become one of the great botanists. harding: (laughs) emmrich: is that funny? harding: it's funny because it's perfect. i can totally see it. harding: you, tending to your garden. sniffing dirt. discovering new plants. gently asking the slugs to leave your roses alone. emmrich: i should think so! i would've spent a lot of time on those roses. not only does it make a lot of sense given how much emmrich loves flowers, a part of his questline being dedicated to gathering them, but it also made me think about a headcanon for emmrich.

an emmrich, who is coming to terms with his feelings for rook and thinking about how to show them (again, according to harding, both of them are quite obvious about it), drawing up ideas and overthinking a complete bouquet arrangement for rook.

he's not only set on picking beautiful flowers that create an even more beautiful greater whole, but a bouquet that holds meaning.

every single flower he picks reveals his thoughts and feelings and hopes, beautiful and complex as they are.

bluebells for humility (alluding to his "you humble me." line), gladiolus in honour of rook's strength of character and determination ("there's also something quite indomitable about you."), heliotropes for an undying love (a "flame eternal", if you will), and perhaps even beautiful and classic red roses (a true love, bashful love).

it would of course be up to you if your rook understands the deeper meaning behind the gesture, but i'd like to think emmrich wouldn't mind explaining.

it does make me laugh to imagine rook listening to emmrich details each flower meaning like

Gonna jump on this before misconceptions take hold in the fandom, because it's an interesting detail that's easy to miss; the flower that Prince Tertius attempted to give to Anya WAS NOT A ROSE.

Rose petals grow in a spiral pattern starting at the center of the flower and going out. Also, their leaves grow with multiple leaves on each offshoot stem, and there is a sort of zigzag to how the leaves branch off of the main stem. None of these are present in the flower Tertius gives to Anya.

If I had to wager a guess, then I'd bet that the flower is actually a carnation rather than a rose. Carnations don't have a spiral pattern, and they have singular leaves that grow directly parallel to one another along the stem, just like the flower we see in the manga.

In the language of Flowers, Carnations can symbolize Gallantry and Chivalry, but can also convey the messages "Grant Me a Smile" and "My Heart Aches for You."

One thing I love about Naruto is the use of ikebana, the art of Japanese flower arranging.

In the manga, Sakura gets Sasuke (and Lee) a singular daffodil while he spends time in the hospital recovering. She claims that in contrast to Ino’s declaration of love she feels Sasuke much better suits the daffodil. A resilient flower that flourishes all year despite the difficulties it faces.

Daffodils have many different meanings. Regard, chivalry, self love, a promise of a new beginning… when I think these varying symbolic associations I can’t help but agree with Sakura.

I’ve seen many fans declare that Sasuke’s eyes look like cherry blossoms, the sakura flower, but I disagree. His eyes are ones of daffodils. Sasuke learning the truth of the massacre, continuing to fight even after all of the troubles he’s faced throughout his life are proof of his persistence and strength. The way he was able to find himself again even after losing himself to revenge… He is just as Sakura said, a resilient man. He is one that I believe brings declarations of a new beginning with his hopes a making Konoha a place worthy of his brother’s sacrifice.

Just look in comparison of the two flowers to Sasuke’s mangekyou sharingan. His carry the same six petals and inner cup seen in daffodils rather than the five of cherry blossoms.

Tombirama himself proclaims that despite the clan seen as one fuelled by hatred they are really one driven by love. Love so powerful it consumes. Their sharingan being a representation of their heart. The way I see it, Sasuke’s eyes reflect his inner desire for change. They show not just his resilience, but also a promise that he will make a difference.

I suppose you could relate it back to Sakura as well… “patiently waiting for spring without bowing to the cold.” Sakura’s full name quite literally means “springfield of cherry blossoms.” After years of Sasuke living in cold, in hatred, once he was able to rise above his past grievances Sasuke was able to let Sakura, his spring, in. Perhaps you could say he was patiently waiting for love. Something the Uchiha clan holds deep.
