There in untapped potential in mini ‘don’t tell dad’ rituals for the bat siblings. Not big things like ‘crashed the batmobile and please don’t tell Bruce it was me’, but more of small sibling stuff.

Like and two siblings at any given moment going on a long car ride around to no particular place and updating each other on life (and saying way too much information), and then when Bruce later asks if anyone know about the new ‘boy’ (gn) someone is seeing half the table just looks at the phone and shrugs like the liars they are.

Or like Bruce mentioning Dick is going to be late for a meeting because he stayed up late the night before working a case and Jason just sitting there knowing for a fact it is actually because Dick spent half the night partying with the Titans because he crashed at Dick’s place and was woken up at 3am with Dick passing out on the couch, but Bruce doesn’t need to know that.

Or Tim and Duke having a big fight fake fights for fun with each other and as they are getting scolded by Bruce, they make eye contact and just can’t stop themselves from laughing.

Or Steph and Cass watching a show Damian isn’t allowed to watch with him because they enjoy it and Bruce isn’t home, then having to quickly grab the remote and change the channel as they hear Bruce’s car pull up.

Or even having screaming matches and 30 minutes later going out to get some lunch together, leaving Bruce, chronic only child, baffled.

I just think there is so much potential in unspoken sibling agreements between the bat kids.

what i don't like about breakbee and what ultimately pulls me away from it with such force i can't ever imagine them kissing is the fact that when you look at it from a different angle they really are brothers and that makes it even more heartbreaking, imo

like, sure, ship it all the way if you want, no one is going to stop you, but what if you really took into account the fact that they can be siblings? divided by war, angry at each other for their choices. you can show me evidence like the "he put his hand on bee's autobot insignia, and then he winked at him, that's pretty telling!" and i go, yeah, but what if we don't try to make everything romantic and look at the platonic side of it?

they're rivals, they like to butt heads, and that's what siblings usually do. they also care for each other, but they won't ever admit it, which is what they're constantly showing. it also goes pretty well with the show's theme of family, so it's easy to draw these connections

they were brothers before the war, and then two people (OP and Megs) divided them - how cool is that as a plot? how can a bond between siblings (not even biological) be broken, how can it truly stand the challenge? idk breakdown and bumblebee as brothers really appeals to me way more than their romantic relationship does, it has a lot more give to it, while the ship is kinda restricting

So, I'm catching up on IDV lore at my own pace. I don't have the full picture between Orpheus and Alice yet... but uh.

Does... does IDV actually want me to see Orpheus and Alice as adopted siblings... because one of Alice's [Little Girl] S-tier skins is called Eurydice. Eurydice is also mentioned as an option you can make during Alice's nightmare in Ashes of a memory part 2. This name is based on the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice and... um...

IDK man,... like... In Ashes of a Memory part two, we have Orpheus call her "Eurydice" when she's dreaming, then we are given 3 options to choose from: Alice, Eurydice and the players name. When you pick Eurydice, Orpheus [as an adult] comes out of the light to deliver Alice from the dream, which is... hmm. He also comes when you pick Alice, except he appears as a child.

And from what I can tell so far, they don't remember each other and it doesn't look like they'll ever get a happy ending. Orpheus' Birthday letter titled "A Scrunched Letter" is describing a future event. This letter doesn't refer to Alice and Orpheus as siblings - just that they've known each other for a long time... I still need to read some more information to know what exactly a "long time" means. Does it mean Orpheus and Alice remember being childhood friends? Does it mean they still dont remember being childhood friends, but they've been friends since they met as adults at the manor?

I mean, I still need to catch up on the lore, but it is... an interesting choice to have Alice be delivered from her dream by Orpheus, since the Greeks viewed sleep and death as closely related concepts. In Greek mythology, Hypnos, the god of Sleep is the twin brother of Thanatos, the god of non-violent death. So to have Orpheus be the figure that guides Alice [Eurydice] out of her dream [returning her to the living] is... very interesting to me.

Unfortunately for Orpheus, it looks like he's playing his role in the myth to a tee and with an added bonus. He seems to be trapped in a never-ending cycle - one where he fails to bring Eurydice back to life over, and over again.

That's.. uh... hmmm...

Also, I'm looking through Orpheus' wiki and it says he and Alice were childhood friends, but after his parents were murdered his relatives sent him off to an orphanage...

I've watched his backstory video and his backstory is shown in AOM part 2... so idk where people are getting the info that her family adopted him lmao.

thinking about how the concept of Love was the downfall of So Many characters in mdzs

wei ying's love for jiang cheng put him in a grotesquely vulnerable position that inevitably made wei ying out to be the antagonist of everyone's life through no real fault of his own

jiang cheng's love for wei ying put him in a position where he trusted wei ying would be fine no matter what, ultimately turning his back on wei ying to fend for himself & for jiang cheng to save face and Still there was no real bad blood between them, but because he trusted in wei ying's abilities, he never bothered to look further into his capabilities or endurance

wei ying's love for jiang yanli made him fiercely protective of her to the point of having made an unreasonable number of enemies and allowed himself to be extremely emotionally driven whenever anyone mentioned her

jiang yanli's love for wei ying made it so that she Could Not proceed with the birth of her son without wei ying, inviting him to a place where he'd made numerous enemies because she Wanted him there and believed that even if things turned bad, it'd all work out in the end

jiang cheng's love for jiang yanli put him in a position where he could never refuse her request and ultimately put jiang yanli, wei ying and himself at risk for social scrutiny among other things

or the antagonists that reflect the protagonists well in the idea of Too Much of this emotion leads to an end worse than death, xue yang was just fascinating to watch but the love a son has for his mother also being his undoing like

same with jin guangyao's love for his mother being the base for which his sense of self and pride was founded on, and putting her and by extension he himself on such a pedestal left the door open for someone to potentially take advantage of his biggest sense of insecurity

as well as jin guangyao's love for jin ling, potentially Misplaced love for what would've otherwise been reserved for his own son, and giving him a canine companion that inevitably turned on the person who gifted it in the first place, being smart enough to sound the alarm and protect its master while knowing who in their world would be liable to helping in dire situations

Sure, the craftsman’s prattle was continuous and full of information that Elwê could not decipher, and it made no difference to him where the other had found the clay he was molding or how thin to make the coils or just what wood shavings were best to line the fire pit to bake the vessels. Well, the last part sounded vaguely interesting, that it was a mystery how the smoke would pattern the clay. And Elwê did notice how shiny the boy’s pottery was, and how the newest fire-hardened piece which he was holding up for Elwê to inspect had a wave pattern of smooth and rough, which came from rubbing the clay when it was still leather-like and half-dry.

The boy gave a smile less steady than its predecessors, yet one more honest, as Elwê crouched down so he was no longer looming over the much shorter elf. Elwê smiled back. “I like listening to you. My name is Elwê of the Lindar, named for the stars and my silver hair.”

“Phinwê,” replied the Tatyar boy. He laughed. “Our names are the same, named for hair.” 

Elwê reached for the other boy’s hands and gripped them tight. “A sign that we were meant to be friends,” he said, finally identifying the hungry look in Phinwê’s eyes as loneliness.
