~ CAN THIS BE FAMILY? ~ ANGSTY FOUND FAMILY PROMPTS
Tumblr media
requested by: @20-crows-in-a-trenchcoat
Feel free to use and reblog!
being torn between opening up and shutting everyone out
needing help but being unable to ask for it
keeping things to themselves even though they know they shouldn't
falling back into old patterns
not being ready to trust anyone new
saying the opposite of what they're feeling
not feeling seen as they had hoped
only taking care of everyone else but not themselves
not wanting to be 'fixed'
being extremely grateful for their found family but feeling bad for not being able to show their gratitude
still having to sort their feelings out on their own because they can't stand to be seen in an emotional state
crying when someone shows them love
thinking they're too sensitive/too broken to be a part of the found family
holding back from truly being themselves
not knowing how to handle being accepted by someone for the first time
being stressed out about possibly doing something wrong because they're terrified to lose what they finally have
being unable to believe that the support in the found family is really unconditional
'Will they leave me? Will they leave me? Will they leave?' as the constant background noise in their head
being unable to tell the truth
not getting better despite the perfect circumstances in their new found family

Classic tropes/prompts in parental stories <3
The kid wakes up in the middle of the night because of nightmares and is too scared to sleep by themselves, so they sneak into their parental figure's bedroom, begging them to sleep together
Hide and Seek
Parental figure carrying the kid piggyback
Tickle fights! (no need for explanations, that's just adorable qwq)
Kid falls asleep somewhere and the caretaker finds them, bringing them to their bed
Caretaker and the child fall asleep on the couch together while watching a movie <3
Caretaker takes the kid to a fair, playground, restaurant or shopping, just spending the day and having fun together
Winter! (picture snowball fights, sleighing, buliding a snowman, hot chocolate, baking cookies, Christmas presents)
On a cold winter day Caretaker notices that the child is freezing so they draw a gentle smile and say: "Come here", pulling them under their coat to warm them up
Caretaker gives the kid their clothes, which are waaay too large for them so they are sitting there in a oversized sweater and Caretaker rolls up their sleeves
(and for a bit o' whump :D) Child gets injured/sick and the caretaker has to tend to their wounds or nurse them back to health
Stargazing together or catching some fireflies (I have a soft spot for that one <3)
Or just both of them cuddling under a blanket in front of the fireplace while rain and thunder is rumbling outside :3

Hi there! Do you think you can do some found family dialogue prompts? Either big sister x little sister or father x daughter! Thx sm!
Hi there :)
I love found family, but I always find it hard to come up with prompts for that, because the whole trope builds so much on context and longer stories that little sentences never really convey the found family part. But I'll try :)
Found Family Dialogue
Siblings Situation
"Hey, I'm the only one who's allowed to annoy you."
"Urgh, you're truly the sibling I never wanted."
"You're my sister and you always will be."
"Wow, listen to us. We really sound like siblings now."
"You are the best big sister that I never knew I needed."
Father/Child Situation
"I'm happy that you feel safe with me."
"Let them say that we're not actual family. We know it best."
"I will always be here for you. Nothing will change that."
"I wouldn't ever let anyone take you away from me. And I will never make you leave."
"You're basically already a dad. My dad."
"Does that mean I can annoy you with dad jokes now?"
Have fun with the prompts!
- Jana

parental caretaker and kid writing prompts
- younger kid standing on their caretaker's shoes and rocking around. almost like they're dancing or waltzing.
- the thing where the caretaker pulls the kid closer to them by like wrapping their hand around their head and covering their ear and tucking them against them.
- kid sitting on caretaker's shoulders. always a good one.
- "shh, shh, I know, I know"
- any sort of "take me instead" situation, said by either character. devastating.
- dealing with sickness. like obviously the kid getting sick and accidentally calling their caretaker mum/dad/parent in their feverish delirium is super cute and top tier.
- BUT ALSO. hear me out. caretaker getting sick but trying to push through to look after their kid and their kid works super hard to make their job easier or look after them in small ways.
- kid hiding for some reason (minor anxiety or major trauma or anything in between) and the caretaker comforting them or trying to coax them out.
- caretaker sweeping kid up in a big ole bear hug and spinning em around.
- kid hiding behind caretaker.
- "you should be in bed" "I can't sleep" "...alright, get over here, you can stay up for five more minutes"
- caretaker and a maybe slightly older kid arguing and making up.
- caretaker picking up slightly older kid from a party that's gone wrong in some way.
- caretaker who's maybe less like a parent and more like an older sibling. they take their kid to abandoned buildings and eat cheap takeaway/takeout with them.
- caretaker teaching their slightly older kid life skills that they maybe didn't have the chance to pick up on when they were younger.
- or yk just caretaker teaching their younger kid life skills. like trying to get them involved with cooking and lifting them up to help grab things and letting them watch things get cut up and prepared.
- caretaker indulging their younger kid in tea parties with their stuffed animals.
- caretaker looking after a kid's comfort items (bonus point if the kid is older, and double bonus points if the kid is too embarrassed to care for their comfort items themselves).
- younger kid curled up by their caretaker while their caretaker plays videogames. bonus points if the caretaker lets them play like baby mode co-op (like luma in mario galaxy). bonus bonus points if the caretaker is like an older sibling and gives the kid an unplugged controller.
- older kid playing co-op with their caretaker and getting way too invested. bonus points if it's mario kart. bonus bonus points if they're showing each other their favourite games from their respective childhoods (because yk different eras).
- caretaker carrying an exhausted kid to bed.
- better yet, the kid pretends to fall asleep in the car so they can be carried inside (caretaker knows their game but is more than happy to carry them).
- caretaker having a hard day working late and coming home to their kid sleeping peacefully on the couch, clearly having waited for them to come home.
- kid having a hard day at school and caretaker is in the middle of making dinner for them.
- caretaker shielding kid from danger with their body.
- kid refusing to leave caretaker's side when they're both in danger.

Could you please do some family fluff type dialogue prompts?
Hi, I can definitely try :) Apologies it's taking me so long, inspiration is running low :/
Family fluff
Parents teaching their kids to cook. Insert a lot of mess and flour but also a ton of fun.
Family evenings spent huddled on the couch while watching TV.
Water gun fight in summer.
Parent A assuring the other adult B they can take care of the kids while A is at work. B comes back home to a giant blanket fort created in the living room.
The siblings squabble and playfully insult each other all the time, but once someone else does it, oh boy they are after their throats.
The parents watching their kid(s) play in the garden.
Board games!
Parent hugging their kid after they notice the kid is severely distressed/crying, reassuring them everything is going to be alright.
The teenage kid preparing their parent's favourite food as an apology for the recent argument.
The kids surprise their parent on Father/Mother's day with breakfast in bed and handmade gifts.
I hope these do well for you :)

Sibling Things #1
Just the first of many prompts inspired or based on things me and my siblings do or have done!
The Jump and Hold Hug
Sibling B runs up to Sibling A and leaps into their arms with a gleeful shout of their name. Sibling B wraps their arms around Sibling A's neck and their legs around Sibling A's waist like a clingy monkey, smiling and giggling the entire time. Sibling A grunts at the sudden weight, but doesn't dare to drop Sibling B. They only roll their eyes with faux annoyance, tightening and securing their hold on Sibling B as a fond smile settles on their face.
Bonus: Sibling A is the oldest and Sibling B is the youngest. Sibling A complains that their back hurts as they continue with what they were doing, still holding on to Sibling B. At the comment, Sibling B gives a cheeky smirk and calls Sibling A old, laughing loudly at Sibling A's dramatic and offended gasp

Uh, kinda specific, but how would YOU write recovering from a car crash and healing, while the character's child is out somewhere unfound, and the character that took the first character in has a big fat lesbian crush on her? You can delete if this is too complicated! I don't mind.
So, I'm a big fan of angsty scenarios. I, personally, would write where the woman took in the mother after her accident and her main goal is to get her better. Meanwhile, the mother is fighting against the idea of being taken care of because she's worried about her child. Then, I would take it one of two ways: 1) the woman tells the mother that she will go out and find her child as long as she stays and rests. Of course, the mother does not stay and she sneaks out to join the search. She is still not healed, so now the woman has to care for her out on the road while they search for the child together. Then they fall in love, of course, and find the child. 2) the woman tells the mother that as soon as she is well enough, they will go and search for the child together. They get to know each other while the woman cares for her injuries. They have some soft and tender moments and start to develop feelings for one another. Once the mother is well enough, they go out and search for the child.
Prompt Ideas
-> for the sake of writing prompts, I chose to make the missing child a girl, but of course, change it as you see fit.
-> feel free to edit and adjust pronouns as you see fit.
"You need to lie down," she was practically begging. "You just survived a pretty nasty accident. You're going to upset your injuries."
"She's still out there!" the mother was wailing. "Please, we have to go find her!"
"My daughter," the mother sobbed, tears running down her face. "My daughter is out there, and she's alone and scared. She doesn't know where I am."
The woman took a deep breath. She wasn't sure what to do. This mother was extremely lucky to have made it out of the accident alive, and if she were to go searching for her child, she wouldn't stand a chance. "I..." the woman began, "I can go and look for your daughter. The odds of finding her will be higher if I go instead of you."
"You can't expect me to just lay here twiddling my thumbs while my daughter is missing, and I don't even know if she's alive!"
The mother stood, her muscles protesting the movement. For a brief moment, the room spun around her, and she pressed a hand to her head in an attempt to steady herself. She was unwell, she knew that. But she'll be damned before she gives up on trying to find her kid.
"When you're well," the woman promised, "we will go and find your daughter. Together. If she's anything like you, I know she'll be fine."
The woman spun around, shock taking over her features. "What are you doing out here? You're supposed to be at home in bed!"
The mother allowed the woman to drape her arm around her, helping her to stand on her own two legs. Vertigo had begun to set in and spots danced across her vision.
"You are so strong," the woman murmured, wiping the hair from the mother's eyes. "Your daughter is lucky to have you."

PROMPT/IDEA- Enjoy!
”I,” Hesitating, she rocked backwards and forwards on her feet. “I apologise. For before.” She awkwardly stated, waiting for his response.
“I don’t care.” He didn’t look at her. He couldn’t bear it, not after what happened.

~ I GOT YOU ~ PROTECTIVE PROMPTS
Tumblr media
requested by: @rainywolfden & anonymous request: protective prompts. especially some family based ones, but just scenarios where one character thinks they need to protect another character would be nice
Feel free to use and reblog!
defending the other when someone says something only slightly criticising about them
"You take that back!"
jumping in front of the other, no matter whether they're being physically or verbally attacked
putting a hand on the other's shoulder to show their support
not accepting hate/critique of the other because no one knows their real struggle
"I actually think A is doing a great job. You shouldn't judge when you know nothing."
getting furious when someone takes advantage of the other's weaknesses
noticing the other struggle without them having to say a word
always feeling responsible to protect their younger sibling(s)
never letting their children out of sight because something could happen in these two seconds
"Leave my baby alone!"
accompanying the other home at night
looking out for potential dangers all the time
comforting the other as soon as they're alone
"Hey! What did you just say to my sibling/child/friend/etc.?!"
seeking the one who hurt the other to take revenge
"You messed with the wrong one!"
not leaving the other's side 'just in case'
only stepping in when the other can't handle it anymore
"You've got some real nerve."
