The other boy glances up, caught between a laugh from watching Pidge and Hunk write a lewd message in the sand. He flips him off and Lance’s hand-painted skull grins back at him. Keith’s cheeks are pink from the chill, his eyes bright and mischievous as the wind catches on the edges of his hair.

Lance mechanically waves back as he pulls away from the binoculars, Keith becoming a tiny figure against the sand as a blush begins to stain Lance’s cheeks. He hikes the collar of his jacket up, glancing furtively back at Shiro and then down at the shore below.

An introduction to Night

This is Night Time, my rottmnt sona! He was made in early 2023 when rottmnt sonas were everywhere XD He's heavily based off of my celestial au turtles — Star!Leo, in particular, felt to me like he was more or less already my rottmnt sona. However, it felt strange to make an "au Leo" my sona, so I tweaked him some. Night is the embodiment of night sky and all of the celestial bodies, not just the stars. He also has his own and unique personality, and his own way of thinking (as opposed to Star!Leo, who's just regular Leo with a star theme). Night is generally pretty quiet and collected. He has the vibes of an older, formal man. He enjoys his solitude and he is not a fan of talking to other people — he enjoys being alone with his night sky. However, when he's in the presence of others... he's a bit more of a prick and an asshole XD. He's very much and introvert and has a low tolerance for bs.

There's also a part where they are renovating a beach house and there's a thing about how shitty earth beer is. It was super wholesome.

okay klance au time

(i don’t think it counts as an au, because it’s not changing canon, its just something that could happen after canon)

warning this is long and hard to understand i cant be bothered. u either get it or you dont.

so i haven’t actually thought out all the details and stuff, this is very much just a thought i had:

It’s set after canon, aka everything stays the same. I KNOWWWW that farm lance gets a lotta hate and i get it trust me, but that also stays the same. Non-negotiable because this whole au basically built around that fact!!! so yeah suck it.

okay so everyone’s doing their thang, the paladins are growing up and like young adults, but they’re not teens anymore!

lance is at the farm, and keith works with the blade of marmora or whatever he ended up doing. i can’t remember but that’s what we’re going with. and you know there’s obviously some klance scenes in the last season and in this au that has developed as the next few years passed.

they might’ve started out hating each other and slowly getting better at standing each other, and then friendship developed into a little more, and now they’re basically dating. except they have never said that they’re dating, but neither of them wants to be with anyone else so it’s fine, they know. and they like it that way, it takes the pressure of. (everyone knows but it’s not something that’s brought up)

and anyway point is keith works in space right? and he comes back to earth often because that’s where they all meet, and they try to meet frequently. and that’s where lance lives, so why wouldn’t he? so he stays there when he visits, and it’s nice.

Lance, as always, goes hand in hand with angst. so add some of that. lance has gotten over his feelings for allura. obviously none of them have fully moved on, but with help from the others (and especially keith) he’s come to terms with that. however, that doesn’t mean it’s not constantly affecting him anymore.

he’s already lost allura, and he’s not actually dating keith, but he’s realized that he might not be as straight as he thought over the last couple years. and maybe there’s more to it than just letting keith stay at his house when he visits because he doesn’t have a house, and more because well he might be dating keith but he doesn’t know if keith considers them that. even if it feels that way sometimes

and he’s worried that it’s gonna be another allura-situation. he doesn’t want that, and keith is out in space trying to spread peace and stuff. and lance worries. lance doesn’t want to lose him before he’s even sure that he had him.

and he’s been trying to ignore that thought because everything is fine. keith wont get hurt. he knows what he’s doing and the war is over, so what’s the chances?

but then keith gets hurt.

and the whole thing basically boils down to lance going straight to proposing. because that’s just what he’s like, it has to be good, it has to be perfect. because keith deserves perfect. and it’s not like he can ask keith if they’re dating.

and this is honestly the part i haven’t thought that much about, this idea is mostly based on the setting. but im thinking he gets some help from the other’s at earth to plan it. everyone gathers at lance’s farm because that’s what they always do when they meet up. and everyone is there because keith comes back injured and stays with lance while he gets better.

and lance is nervous because what if he read all of this wrong, he did imagine the rival thing back at garrison, but the others help calm him down. and idrk how but he proposes to keith and asks him to spend their lives together and whatnot.

they have a BEAUTIFUL wedding, and the flowers that remind him of allura are all over btw. they’re in love and everyone’s happy despite it all.

yeah idrk i haven’t worked it out but i like the story. it’s based in the song Found by Dan Davidson. I think it’s cute and it fits with the farm thing. you have to listen to it to get my vision:

i can confidently say, in my 6+ years of being a klance stan, i have never seen anything like this before or since. this fic is AMAZING. completely new idea, hilarious, sweet, and totally untouchable. i’ve always love testing fics that are done right (bc theyre always funny), and does this one ever knock it out of the park! the dynamics are amazing and the rivalry is EXQUISITE. bonus of vietnamese keith and filipino lance, and this one line (it’s a spoiler so im not going to put it here) that actually knocked me out of the water. its about the CHOICE.

this is one of the earliest vld fics ever written, and it has a CROWN idk. this fic makes me feel so many emotions all at once. like  i miss u 2016 fic i miss u keith gyeong i miss u bitchy klance i miss u early voltron found family dynamic i miss u old lance’s family headcanons i miss u bamf team. rip to the earliest voltron fandom (also. how did this author know about romelle. in 2016.)

i SEARCHED for this fic. i made half my followers search with me too. this fic is bamf lance to the fucking max, and its AMAZING. how many of you have wanted waterbender lance so badly you could barely speak? firebender keith? if u said u didnt then ur lying. this fic has literally everything you could ask for in a canon divergence

i am so fucking in love with aus like this. cowboy or farmboy where theyre quietly in love in their own bubble of the world?? i cannot get enough of them. i would read a million of them. this fic in particular is SO soft and tender, it is so so important to me. ive read it so many times. its one of those fics that brings a smile to your face that u literally cannot fight back

The idea has been festering in my head for like a week! So without farther ado, I present Heat Lighting

Lance feels his chest burning for air as he runs through the train station. The cold winter air crisps in his lungs as he pushes past the crowd. He’s never been the best at being on time for just about anything but this is something he could not miss. His eyes dart from track to track before finding his train and rushing on just as the doors shut behind him. He’s dressed in blue platform sneakers and cuffed blue jeans to match. On top, he wears a white oversized sweater with a blue-collar sticking out from the top. He had quickly thrown on a jean jacket over and felt a bit self-conscious about the denim on denim but he knew his outfit was still better than 90% of the ones around him. He hauls his luggage behind him as he looks for a spot on the already-packed train.

Maybe if he had gotten here early he’d have found a spot! He curses at himself looking for a place to sit. He stops in a row with a man, eyes closed facing the window, and headphones over his ears. Lance always had an eye for fashion and beauty. That is the first thing he notices. The man in front of him has to be a model. His features are sharp enough to cut paper. Purple eye shadow done breathlessly only added to his long lashes.

Maybe a rockstar? Sure dressed like one. The man is sitting with one leg over the other, black skinny jeans hugging his lean frame, a purple cropped top that exposed his muscular build underneath, and a leather jacket to tie it all together. While the man sleeps peacefully against the window, a guitar case takes up the free seat next to him. Oh, definitely a rockstar.

Lance carefully reaches across the seat to tap on the man’s shoulder, “Um excuse me- Ah-!”

The train screeches to a stop, ripping the ground out from under Lance as he loses his balance and lands in the lap of the handsome stranger slamming head-first into the wall of the train cart.

The man jumps awake at the sudden weight on him. He looks down at the man in his lap but doesn’t move.

“Uh, can I help you?” He asks with a small hint of a smile on his face. Lance shot up, his face flushed with embarrassment.

“Oh sorry! The train suddenly stopped and-“ Lance loses his train of thought meeting the eyes of the stranger. If looks could kill, write his obituary now! Amethyst-colored eyes meet his with a curious expression. Lance tilts his head to his feet as the stranger continues to stare. “I was gonna ask um- if this seat was taken.”

The man looks between Lance and his guitar before it clicks, “Oh sorry.” He stands up to put the instrument into the overhead. As he turns to do so, Lance shamelessly steals a glance at the man’s figure. His leather jacket is cropped and rises as he lifts his arms, his jeans tight and low rise. He catches a hint of a purple thong strap hugging the man’s hips. Lance has to swallow for air before counting ceiling tiles.

“T-thanks!” He mutters before taking his seat. As they wait for the train to start up again he turns to make small talk to the kind stranger but sees he already put his headphones back in. Lance huffs before leaning back into his seat.

“Attention passengers.” The overhead speakers roar, “There has been a delay due to the storm we will be experiencing a 2-hour delay.”

Passengers groan all around him and Lance can’t help but feel disappointed as well. He isn’t in any time constraint but stuck for 2 more hours?

“What did they say?” The stranger asked sitting up and taking a headphone out.

“There’s about a two-hour delay,” Lance says with a sad smile. On cue his phone chimes.

James <3 3 new messages

He can’t help but squeal. The man next to him jumps at the sound.

James: hey baby!

I’m so excited to see you

How far out are you now

Lance: there’s been a delay so I won’t be getting in until midnight

James: oh okay I’ll meet you at the station

Lance: it’ll be late I’ll just stay at a hotel it’s okay!

James: :( no. I want to see you! I’ll see you at midnight!

Lance giggles at the message and hugs his phone to his chest. How’d he get so lucky?

He notices the man side-eying him.

“Oh sorry.” He mutters realizing he’s just squealing like a school girl next to a total stranger, “It’s just my boy-“ Lance cuts himself off, “partner asking when I’ll arrive.” He didn’t feel like outing himself to a total stranger and potentially making this delay more painful.

“Boyfriend. It’s all good. Same way.” The man says nonchalantly.

Lance’s eye gleams. He knew a hetero could never have such taste in fashion! “Then yes! My boyfriend! He’s waiting for me in Arus! Is that where you’re heading?”

“Yeah.” The man mutters leaning his head against his hand.

“Oh if you don’t mind me asking, why?” Lance asks, hands on the armrest.

The man can’t help but notice the way Lance waits for a response reminds him of a golden retriever waiting for a treat. He laughs.

“I don’t think I have to tell a stranger who fell into my lap my business now do I?” He teases.

“Oh.” Lance leans back into his seat and thinks, “Oh! Well, the name’s Lance! Lance McClain! I’m going to Arus to join my boyfriend! He got accepted to a military academy out there! So did my sisters so I thought I might as well go too! You know!”

The man fakes a smile. “Oh yeah?”

“See now we’re not strangers! So why are you going to Arus?” Lance asked

“Uh-“

Before the man could respond Lance jumped in his chair again, “Oh let me guess! You’re in a band! You’re going for a show! You totally look like a rockstar!” Lance can’t help but talk on and on. He is too in his fantasy about the man to notice his clear discomfort. Lance smiles, thinking how nice these two hours will be with someone to chat with.
