im with you, i hate that it feels like its gregory vs cassie in the fandom rn. theyre KIDS.

i also dont think its gregory in the main(?) ending (there are so many things that make it not make sense for it to be him), and it bothers me so much that people are pouncing on “gregory is evil” - he is a CHILD.

i really hope people dont pester you about drawing them as friends, i personally would love some art from you with them being friends <3 as much as i am a fan of the angst potential of that ending, cassie being tricked by the mimic (grimic? is that actually the canon name..?) one last time to pit her against gregory when really neither side did anything wrong is far moe interesting in concept than “gregorys just evil” could ever be imo.

i personally love feral/menace gregory, but hes not evil - again, hes a kid! and hes been in terrible circumstances! im not sure i could even really be mad if that WAS him in the elevator - a genuinely terrifying threat was released, and he might not be able to trust cassies voice, just like she couldnt trust his. we know cassie was okay, that the mimic wasnt with her (well, aside from the arm), but gregory had no way of knowing any of that.

seemingly, hes with vanessa and freddy. if he risked it and it WAS the mimic and not cassie, he could lose everything and more all over again. i cant imagine being a kid having to make such an awful decision. keep your current family safe, or risk everything in case your best friend somehow made it?

he knows how dangerous the plex is. and i can only imagine how much more dangerous hed expect it to be now. he barely made it out with freddys help, and as far as he knows, cassie doesnt have someone there to help her.

i feel so bad for gregory, both in-game, and in the fandom! he doesnt deserve all this hate.

I agree with a lot of what you said tbh and heck dude Gregory is indeed a child, he’s even had to do things he didn’t want to do and got the short end of the stick every time. Cassie is a bean also, like she didn’t deserve to be tricked she didn’t deserve to be traumatized and she didn’t deserve to also get the short end of the stick either. It’s just I just really can’t accept that Gregory would do that to her either and ? If I’m wrong then okay? But like that’s just what I chose to believe and what I chose to draw I don’t get why people have to prove me wrong about it or pull lore nonsense into it to make sure I feel like I’m wrong. I want to do some kind of year in review. 1) I am far too chaotic for any sort of organized template. These are some of my favorite screenshots I've taken this year. I know I'll never get a ton of notes on what I post, but they've brought me joy. (On the subject of notes, the two most popular posts I've made since I joined tumblr are the most low effort trash and they don't bring me joy, but that ironically does make me laugh.)

Beginning of the year I made an unofficial decision (compulsion?) to focus on my fav OC, my sith inquisitor from swtor. It's become kind of a project seeing where I can stick her. She inspired me to write more, first with swtor then cyberpunk, which is partially why I became so attached. That and I put a lot of myself in her. I will say I have uhhh a weird relationship with my asian heritage? I ended up deleting Ixaphia 1.0 at some point because she reminded me too much of my mom (it was the hair, that hair had to go!) Not to get too real on main, but I think she might have helped me unpack some stuff I didn't even realize were a thing.

For 2024 I'd like to overcome the feeling that I'm wasting my time here posting my little pictures like a sad racoon who is too lazy to make gifs. It's a weird struggle of wanting to share and talk to people but also not wanting to put even the most vague personal details out there. See me, but do not perceive me. It's going great!

As for writing this year, I write sporadically, usually when blorbo thoughts threaten to start leaking out of my ears if I don't get it out. It's not something I share but @meonlyred has been subjected to the p o rn, bc what are friends for. I'm sorry and/or you're welcome. Not ready to put that into the void, but I will throw up the first few paragraphs I ever wrote for my Viktor Vektor fic in hopes that 2024 I actually finish the thing.

Jackie walked over to the punching bag Vik had hanging in the corner of his basement clinic and bounced back and forth giving it a few casual jabs. The man was a hulking fridge of perpetual energy. He sauntered over to some knick-knacks on a shelf and began rearranging them.

“I'm telling you Vik, she won't admit it, but V is sweet on you. I can tell.”

Viktor didn't look up from the equipment he was cleaning. The basic tools of every NC ripperdoc, plus a few he had custom modified for himself. Half the appeal of working back-alley was doing the job better than the corpo wage slaves tied down by miles of red tape. Besides the tiny tremor in his hand, a little souvenir from his boxing days had washed him out of the possibility of trauma team--even if it could be mitigated.

“Nonsense, Viky. You'd be good together! Me and Misty and you two, think of the double dates. Basically what we do already, just make it official-like.”

This time Viktor did stop what he was doing and looked up at his friend over the glasses half-slid down his nose. He took them off and rubbed his temple.

“Jackie--”

He was mercifully interrupted by the metallic clank of the door, before he found himself having to explain yet again why him and V were a bad idea.

“Sorry, Jack. Got an appointment. Still on for tonight? Malone v Hernandez. Fridge is stocked.”

“V will be there too, yeah?”

At the look Viktor shot his way he held his hands up in concession. “Okay, okay. I'll see you tonight. But think about what I said!”

Alfie and Dana both say congrats and good luck but Kat says she doesnt see this nonsense lasting 🫣

Dana asks if MC will miss the dressing room hangs with the girls, like literally no but I didnt want to be mean so I said yet. Kat's bitchy ass had to say if you and MC are so close, then why is she dating Suresh instead of you. GIRL KICK ROCKS! People can be friends without wanting to date...Kat says her and Finn will probably get married before Suresh and MC...call me after you watch the season back babes.

Suresh says hes nervous and asks how you feel about it all. (also died that he said MC and him could blow through the 50K pretty quickly...OK big baller)

i think collei has an actual canon age right? unless I'm tripping and fanon has solidified so much in everyone's minds. I still haven't read the manhua <3 but iirc people think she's 12-13 there right. maybe she's like 17 rn, i can see anywhere from 14-16 though. idk anything abt her timeline so these are quite literally guesstimates from vibes and they're likely to be wrong. Layla is such a college girlie, she's like 19-20 and sleep deprived (same fr); begging for her to catch a break on behalf of uni students everywhere. I don't have a set age for Faruzan, I can see her anywhere from 30-40, 26 years old minimum (the redesigns people give her where she looks visibly older are so cool <3). Given she was a pretty well known researcher back in her day and since academia is a long and arduous career choice, I think it makes sense; also if she's like way older than Kaveh appearance wise (≥ 10 years) , even if she hadn't gotten trapped for a century, that would be sick af (their dynamic is impeccable and I think a larger age difference makes it better, sweeter, and funnier). Nilou also feels 19-20 years old to me; no real explanation, she just has a young adult vibe, like someone just out of her teenage years but quite capable at managing her life, although still testing out responsibility for major decisions and stuff like that (age solidarity w yun jin)

iirc cyno was already mahamatra or something WHILE tighnari was still in school; thus this makes cynonari EXTREMELY funny if you're a moral purist who ships it and thinks they fell in love in their akademiya days LOL. jkjk it's also a reasonable interpretation that Cyno became mahamatra at an insanely young age, since uhhh fucked up temple of silence background smth smth and honestly it feels in character for him to go buck wild at a young age like that (person most suited for young collei fr). HOWEVER. personally I think being mahamatra at like 19 is insane—thus I think tighnari's probably 23, cyno might be 27? No thoughts for this just vibes. mmmmm idk when he was adopted into the house, if he's around 4-5 years younger than L+L, and let's say they entered the House when they were maybe 6-9 (my headcanons, is it now possible to piece together an accurate timeline of this from in-game lore??), and that was maybe 3-4 years after freminet entered, he probably was like 5-7 when he entered... wah frem............. poor child I'm giving him a hug (knowing that he's also a killing machine)

I saw your post about FS and coach Makoto and I totally agree with you. If Makoto wanted to be a pro coach he should go for it and while some people may have felt that it was a sudden decision others understood. People are allowed to change their minds or their dreams and I really think Makoto would be an amazing pro coach. I also just want to see more of his fierce and capable side because KA only lets us see it like once a season. Also just because he chooses to be a pro coach now doesn’t mean that he can’t teach kids a little later down the line. It would be much easier for him to do that now than to teach kids and then realize later in life that he wants to be a pro coach. He might have even missed the window of opportunity. There’s also nothing wrong with him wanting to join the pro world if his friends were there, but I think Makoto has shown that he also has other motivations outside of them. There’s also no guarantee that they would even be able to work together even with them going into a similar industry.

I think the way fandom ended up portraying Makoto shouldn't be a reflection of the story or plot, but of those watching it? I can understand it to be frustrating if fics have varying interpretation of Makoto, some which make him come off as someone with no backbone, but that's simply not the fault of canon, but rather of people's lack of understanding of the character? Makoto's character is so subtle and layered that ig it's easy to misinterpret but again i think it's good story telling how his subtle manipulative ways are shown rather than told to us, how his ambition is seen in bursts rather than a constant fire bc he's much more level headed about it than say Rin or Asahi, how his leadership is shown through him being a big brother figure rather than a tough no-nonsense guy. Like the layers this guy has!!!!! My man's out here being an onion and it's not canon's fault people reduce him to a boringass potato.

I think it was Will (? might've been someone else but can't remember rn) who talked about the appeal of free! being that the characters leave so much up for interpretation so we can do our own world building. And i think that's absolutely true, but also we've been given so much subtlety in canon that the reason the world building of our own is fun is bc we have so many little bits to piece together!! And yeah it's frustrating when someone completely misses large pieces of a character but how is that bad story telling rather than just bad interpretation?

I would love to see Makoto persue pro coaching (even if, finger's crossed, Haru quits pro) and then later down the line retire to teach kids again, bc yeah he's absolutely made for that, too! He's great at many things! Let him be all of those, let him be every bit of himself instead of putting him in a neat lil box, thanks!

   maddie wasn’t handling the stress of being well known very well . she wanted a break from it all , to just go somewhere far away where no one knew her name & just live by herself . it was a silly dream . nothing she’d ever actively pursue . but the universe has a funny way of giving us a taste of what we think we want just to teach us a lesson . 

   so over a year ago , maddie found out that she was pregnant . it was a shock to say the least . she kept it a close guarded secret from everyone but her sister for awhile . not only was it a life changing development , but it was one thing that she was determined not to share with the rest of the world . with the idea of running away in continuous loop in the back of her mind , she came up with a plan to buy herself some time . she faked a really bad injury during a performance & let the media run with saying she might not be able to walk , let alone dance ever again . pushing the cover story even further , she claimed to be in need of intense physical therapy & sought after it in a luxurious private lodge in new zealand . that’s where she stayed during her year away , letting no outsiders come visit while she figured out how she was going to move forward with this baby growing inside of her .

   so maddie finally got the break she was looking for even if it wasn’t under the circumstances that she would’ve liked . but she adapted to the situation . in her time away , she went through the entire pregnancy but it was basically decided for her by her parents that it was best to give the baby up for adoption . the little girl would be in good care by a couple that was a family friend of the darlings . better to bless someone who wanted a baby but couldn’t have one than for maddie to keep her daughter when she wasn’t in a place to take care of her . it broke her heart , honestly . she had grown quite attached to the baby & even entertained the idea of being a single mom even though she knew her own mom would never let that happen - it would go against the strict narrative that they try to put out there about the darling family .

What is your opinion on straight passing privilege? I (bi) don’t think it exists, but a close (lesbian) friend of mine insists that it does bc “You can hold hands with your SO (nb cis passing man) in public without risking being the victim of a hate crime.” I have been researching but keep seeing this same argument coming up, and I’m unsure and don’t want to be making anyone upset if I’m being ignorant here.

I think that there's a lot of fucked up internet politics around who is and isn't allowed in the community. Which is ridiculous.

Gay, Lesbian, Bi, Pan, Poly, Ace, Aro, Trans, Intersex, etc.

The only people who shouldn't be in the community are cishets, and pedos, none of that 'it's a sexuality' nonsense, it's predation.

The concept of straight-passing is ridiculous, primarily because it's all based on assumptions. If you're in an m/f relationship, and you are both cis and heterosexual, it's straight.

But here's the catch, if you identify as any LGBPT+ then it's not straight.

Two trans people in an m/f relationship is not straight passing.

Two bi people in an m/f is not straight passing, it's queer babes, it's in the name. If you're bi and your partner is like, straight, it's still queer from your side of the fence.

It's the 'pick a side' argument from another direction, this straight passing nonsense. Where you are villified by the straights if you have a same-sex relationship (or fetishised, let's be real, every part of the acronymn has it's own p*rn category aimed at straight people with a kink), and if you have a relationship with the opposite gendered person, the queer community gets cranky.

Two things:

1) Is this friend between 13 and 25? Bc they could still be working this out or being mentored by t*rfs, or had some bad info. IT could be jealousy or fear of being open where you live. I didn't get an invite to the big queer conference to make these decisions, so like, they're not valid. It's some pocket of internet active idiots who think they can speak for everyone.

What we need to do is stop pulling this bullshit on one another and get back to asking just why the fuck it's not okay for people who are perceived as not-straight or cis etc to hold hands in public.

There's a problem for every facet of the acronym, babes and dudes and theys. Lesbians are heavily sexualised by straight cis dudes. Gays are heavly fetisihed by straight cis women. to the point where even saying 'I'm gay' is considered to be an obscene, sexual act that you should not let children be exposed to.

And there's always someone from the opposite gender who thinks they 'are confused' or 'haven't met the right (gender) person yet', or 'they could fix them with their magic genitals' or mumbled religious nonsense. There's such intense stereotypes that people can't stand women who look butch, but also you can't 'really' be a lesbian unless you are' or gay men can't just be, like, a normal dude, instead of some flamboyant in-your-face charicature.

Of course people who match the stereotype exist, too. And they get no respect for fitting into the stereptypes either, it's just another reason for disrespect. There's no winning.

Bi's can't talk to anyone without hearing a question of a threesome come up or being attacked from either side for coice of partner.

Pans, same, but also kitchenware jokes. Both Bi and Pan are considered sluts and whores and can't decide or are going to cheat, etc. Or the 'you're being special snowflakes', 'choose a side', 'you're secretly gay and won't admit / you're secretly straight and want attention' etc.

Ace/Aro - everyone under this banner gets the whole 'you just haen't found the right person' or 'when you're older/you're a late bloomer' or 'how do you know?' or 'maybe you're straight/gay and haven't worked it out yet?' invalidating them completely and trying to push sex onto them. The queer community has always let Ace and Aro in under the Bi banner, and they are welcome. But the internet community, usually young people, are tearing each other to shreds over it lmao.

Chill.

Non-binary, trans, intersex. They have been here for ages, but people from one community try to destroy their credibility, despite them existing since humanity has. It's big on p*rn and fetish sites too, lot of straight dudes think these things are hot and sexy, but would spit on trans people in the street. Hypocrites (I mean, every second low-brow comedy movie out there makes a thai-l*dyb*y joke, and how it 'doesn't count' like yikes).

Transpeople have it bad though. Transwomen are seen as 'men in dresses who want to break into women's spaces' and treated horrifically; assaults are very high. They're not considered Real People unless they meet the ridiculously high standards for each gender; unless they perform Right.

I remember, but did not understand at the time bc I recall i was little, that there was a gameshpw bachelorette style and there was a big twist. You know what the twist was? That the bachelorette they'd been dating and trying to win over... was trans. I don't think that she knew it would be the big twist, either; of the two men remaining, bother were angry and one might have been sick. Might be on youtube.

Some Thoughts for Episode 2 and the Trigger series in general

Now I know we're only 2 episodes in but while watching it, I couldn't help but remember the time while I was watching Tiga. And with that, brings some worries I have for the Trigger series before as I'm seeing the same pattern again.

Commentary aside cause I've already done it but looking at episode 2, seeing how Trigger interacted with Dargon and in episode 1 with Carmilla, as well as basically the leaks for the entire series recently, tbh I'm quite concerned, speaking from the outset of this series

And seeing the direction TsuPro is taking with this really worries me

Take for example this scene:

Really find the fact that Trigger isn't really engaging Dargon in conversation really limits the potential of character development in terms of ultras can go here

(Really feels like Dargon is basically talking to a wall here)

Like with Tiga as an example, yes he turned to the light but surely he wanted to help his then comrades, or daresay friends that were his fellow Dark Giants to also follow him. And I'm sure he tried to convince them to turn to the light and at the end, faced with a difficult decision, decided to seal them instead with a heavy heart instead of straight up just killing them as they were his friends

But he just straight up did in the Final Odyssey.

And here we see Trigger not even engaging Dargon in conversation here. Like if the history between Trigger and Dargon were the same as Darramb and Tiga, shouldn't Trigger attempt to still persuade Dargon to follow the path of light? As what Yuzare helped him 30 million years ago?

The fact that both Darramb and Dargon seems to be the closest to Tiga and Trigger respectively implied that they could still hope to listen, after a beatdown at least since the former pair both value strength above all else

But in this scene, now both Dargon and Trigger, or should I say Kengo are basically on completely different wavelengths, its as if I'm watching two parallel stories occurring at the same time even though it should be the same story

Kind of makes you wonder whats the point of Kengo being able to understand the language the Dark Giants are speaking if he's just responding in a way that he might as well just heard nothing but gibberish

But of course we can reason away Tiga's actions in Final Odyssey as that only the body of Tiga was used by Daigo back then, which was why he did what he did. And you could argue the same with Trigger.

However, it still stands that this still makes the interactions between the Dark Giants and Trigger, whom have a rich history together, be watered down to the Dark Giants interacting with a human who tbh, has literally no personal relationship with them and really no real business being where he is (other than the plot settings 'forcing' him to be)

Basically why bother building such a rich history if you aren't even gonna utilise it to create a good story that builds upon it?

Because on the other hand, given such a rich history, I can totally see Trigger convincing Dargon to join him after a beatdown (not totally yet of course), then Hudram, and because Carmilla was especially hurt, takes longer for her to do so and it could've concluded with her basically becoming some Demonozoa like being to face off against Trigger, Dargon and Hudram. And conclude with Trigger showing her the power of light (via Glitter Eternal) and saving her at the last minute as she loses her senses by the power of darkness and realises the error of her ways through the help of her lover and her 2 friends etc

It all just make it seem that TsuPro is gonna end up sacrificing yet another interesting story potential all for the sake of having humans be relevant to the story and instead just occupying the episodes with unrelated nonsense like Z, Ultraman, Ribut and Zero showing up in Trigger for no real reason in canon as leaked recently

(Ok maybe not Ribut cause he's recruiting for the Ultra League which still could've worked if Trigger was 'actually' here)

It just incredibly worries me that we may not be seeing such drama given the plethora of existing settings that could be crafted to make such a story that is truly unique to Trigger

Tho I still am crossing my fingers that Trigger just has a shaky start and Trigger (NOT Kengo) actually interacts with the Dark Giants as he should given their history together

And besides, I gosh darn hope the fact that Kengo has the ability to understand the Dark Giants will come into play eventually even tho its really shaky in that department rn

I’ve been thinking a lot about political structures in children’s fantasy. I’m positive this ramble is just going to end in more questions than answers but I need to organize my thoughts.

So Oz has an obvious, if confusing, political structure. (I’ve only ever read The Wizard of Oz though I know Baum went into a lot more of Oz’s history in his others, that’s what I’m sticking with rn cause that’s also the base of the media most are familiar with.) So, when Dorothy lands in Oz she kills the Wicked Witch of the East and frees the Munchkins from her tyrannical(? We’re lead to believe) rule leaving the Munchkins free(? Or maybe under Glinda’s rule?). Regardless, Oz has a political structure & Dorothy’s actions directly upset it — as she goes on to kill the Wicked Witch of the West who was ruling over the Winkies — but we never see her involved in politics. If anything she’s a tool of Glinda and the Wizard, upsetting the current balance of power before heading back to Kansas and not getting involved in the political restructuring. (Look I know there’s other media that might include this & I know I’ve read some but I’m thinking of strictly L. Frank Baum’s The Wizard of Oz. Which is political to begin with since it’s an allegory for a silver backed dollar but I’m not talking American politics here.)

Then there’s Alice. Both Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass involve Alice directly dealing with, and often arguing, contradicting, and outright defying, royalty of both of the lands she finds herself in. While in Looking Glass Alice manages to become a queen she is still shown to not have any real political power or even anything to be queen over before waking up. Like Dorothy, Alice upsets the political landscape of the world she finds herself in without being able to restructure it. (Again, I’m not taking into consideration all the various adaptations and retellings.)

There’s probably something to be said about them both being girls and the eras in which the books were written or just the more overtly nonsensical or fantastical facets of both but still. Alice and Dorothy were both, undeniably, used as political pawns and then sent home.

The Chronicles of Narnia get to more of what I’m actually interested in. The Pevensie children show up, literally wage a war, and rid the country of a tyrannical dictator. Then by divine right of Aslan they’re made kings and queens. While it’s shown that there are other humans in the world, at this point the Telemarians don’t have any contact with the Narnians. So like, these kids first had to learn how to wage war (which I think might be the bigger takeaway here? That there’s a whole lot of child soldiers and political pawns going around.) and then they suddenly have to run a country? Granted it’s a magical one that seems to pretty much govern itself but like, these are kids! They don’t know what they’re doing! They got guidance in the war because they joined up with the resistance movement! Now suddenly the country’s at peace and very few people in it remember peacetime at this point so you’ve got a population that has to readjust to peace (and seasons) as well as four kids who are expected to run a country. I think the books said Mr. Tumnus and the Beavers ended up being advisors for them but like what do they know? What’re their qualifications? And I’m almost certain they got in contact with Telemar before they left the first time. So like how were they handling international relations in a world that wasn’t their own with people who knew this and while children? I just. I want to know how that worked, how it happened, how did these four kids — specifically SIBLINGS — actually manage to work out how to govern.

In Harry Potter there’s a mix between what happens with Dorothy, Harry is used as a pawn in a preexisting political structure with very little knowledge of his own, and the Pevensies, he and his family are thrust into the midst of a war and suddenly become child soldiers. But there’s less responsibility because at the end of the day the structure itself is largely unchanged, the Ministry being relinquished by the Death Eaters & Kingsley being elected Minister, and there are adults to pick up the pieces around them. Harry & co went through terrible, traumatic events and were forced to grow up too quickly, but they are given a reprieve and allowed to be kids again. Hermione goes back to Hogwarts even and completes school with Ginny and Luna. But we know that she also then goes on to work for the Ministry, and Harry becomes an Auror presumably right away and Neville eventually a professor at Hogwarts. You can’t say that these children, who by virtue of being war heroes, now have power and influence but don’t wield it. That they’re not included as members of the Order of the Phoenix or that Dumbledore’s Army doesn’t carry weight akin to a political party. Are we just expected to believe that the boy who felt played, betrayed, and controlled his whole life suddenly steps back and continues to allow someone else to make decisions now that he’s undoubtedly free to act on his own accord? Why would Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Neville, or Luna give up their newfound power either? It doesn’t make sense for any of these characters who have felt as though they have no control over their lives or the world around them to suddenly gain the ability to and yet not use it. I’m not saying they staged a coup or anything but they must have been included on discussions of what to do with the remaining Death Eaters and how to rebuild. They must have wanted to be included. So, what happened?

Now this one I’m less familiar with and there’s already been a lot of meta done but it’s the most similar to Narnia and definitely needs to be included. So, Avatar: The Last Airbender is very much along the same lines as Narnia and Harry Potter, child soldiers & taking over running a country that’s suddenly finds itself at peace. Though the Gaang has a whole lot more awareness of the broader ramifications of their actions. Kinda. Vaguely. Zuko is well aware that he’s a prince and that one day he’s expected to run a country and Aang knows he’s the avatar and the weight that carries. Sokka and Katara also have a sense of weight and Toph knows the weight her family name carries. But like, they don’t really expect that this is going to translate into politics. But by the end Zuko does have to run a country, granted with the help of ministers and advisors and we all know Iroh, but with Korra we know that the Gaang goes on to found a whole knew country. Just like the Pevensies you have these people who are literally or nearly siblings who suddenly find themselves world leaders and dealing with other political leaders. And how did that go over? How do you go from being best friends one minute to hashing out tarriffs the next? And while all under the age of 30?

Now Percy Jackson and the Olympians is the only one I can think of (without venturing too far into YA lit) that actually sees the main character wielding hard won power. (And I do mean only the first five books.) Percy is definitively a pawn and when the war is over he actively asks the gods to restructure power by claiming their kids. It’s nowhere near the extremes that Luke wanted or control that Kronos did but Percy sees the validity that Luke had and uses the fact that the gods owe him big time to have some sort of change enacted.

I don’t know what exactly but there’s something here about children, power, politics, war, and how children who go through war together and form bonds and are in each other’s pockets by choice, necessity, and blood go about being allowed to stop growing up so fast while also being expected to govern to actually governing and shaping politics. And if children as political pawns and soldiers and “saviors” is such a reoccurring theme, why isn’t them wielding their newfound power and influence to govern? To restructure the worlds they saved?

Maria watches friday night lights (#36)

5x13, the series finale i have heard nothing but good things about - I made it y’all! *wipes tear* this is a show i will definitely rewatch! It definitely feels like the kind of show that’s so layered that every time you go back you’ll pick up something new. I love shows like that.

I want to talk about how the East Dillon Lions are gonna win State.” “Is that a promise?” These Texas sports journalists are WILD. this is a teenage boy whose school’s funding just got cut right before the biggest game of his life! Can we have some sympathy?!

“I hear they’re taking the cream of the crop for the Superteam so I’m gonna be honest with you, what are you gonna do?” EXCUSE ME SIR? I repeat, TEENAGE BOY. Tinker’s response of “you’re an asshole” and storming away was more than appropriate!!!

Ah, the age-old tradition of decorating a Christmas tree while arguing about a five-year football coach contract in Dillon or a dean of admissions job offer at a prestigious Philadelphia college. Julie’s just sitting there with Gracie like ooooh boy

Wow I did not expect this proposal to come that quickly into the episode! Like i knew it was coming in this episode but aw. They’re so soft! Just like, oh i’ve been thinking about you nonstop since our perfect Chicago tryst and oh look here’s grandma’s ring let me casually get down on one knee in the town where we fell in love. And after she was just talking about how much she misses Matt to Tyra the episode before? That “yes” she gave feels so certain because of it. Aw.

The grandma’s ring really fucks me up because you know how close Julie and Grandma Saracen have gotten over the years. My heart!

The way they slowed everything down with just music, and focused in on the faces of so many characters - Vince’s dad showing up, Eric and Tami saluting one another from stand to sideline, Becky cheering in the stands excitedly for Luke, Matt and Julie holding each other, Buddy on the sidelines screaming, Vince’s mom jumping up and down - just absolute perfection. 

And we’re back in, with actual in-scene sound at 26-21 with 3 seconds left on the clock??? Jesus!

AH and every single character watching the football fly in the air, WOW the DRAMA.

Holy shit, they fast-forwarded to one of Eric’s players in Philly catching a football eight months later in Philly??? THIS SHOW IS SO GOOD. WOW.

like, I get why op had him give that speech - to prevent the cons from trying to free megs again/thinking that he was being coerced into things (ironic considered he WAS coerced into giving that speech) - but it’s kinda the easy way our for megatron - being able to completely abandon the decepticon cause and not deal with it at all, and start over anew as an autobot

it would've been a lot harder to remain a con and try to reform what he has broken in the decepticon movement - but I think that would've been really interesting

though from a writing logistics standpoint, I get why jro didn't go for that bc we don't get a lot of other decepticons in the cast for that to work, and also megatron still definitely DOES have to face down all his mistakes w/the decepticons w/the djd and overlord and whatnot

The next week in ISS was horrible, but so was being grounded I mean it only reminded me of why I was in there.

I had yet to apologize to Carol, I haven’t talked to Nancy yet. When I showed up the day after I got into the fight with Carol the kids just looked at me, I knew they knew what happened, but honestly I didn’t care.

I didn’t want to be feared but if that happened then oh well. I felt bad I really did but on the other hand I didn’t, As far as the Nancy situation was concerned I would just give her some apology even though I didn’t do anything wrong.

The apology was bound to happen. I mean Johnathan had been hanging out with Nancy while I was stuck in school jail.

Apparently Steve had broken Jonathan's camera a while back but he didn’t say anything cause if he did Steve would have gotten his ass kicked.

That’s the main problem with the three Jack asses of Hawkins high was they thought they were untouchable, but now Carol knows she’s isn’t, I’m pretty sure Tommy does too.

Steve that’s a different story, something about him just made me softer on him. I don’t know if it was his lack of affection from his parents or these girls getting to him but for some reason i couldn't stay mad at steve harrington.

After school I saw Nancy standing near Steve and them, that's when I saw Carol's nose it was swollen and bruised. I honestly felt bad I swallowed my pride then walked over. As soon as they saw me Tommy stood in front of Carol.

“That's far enough Tyson.”

I put my arms up looking at them smiling at the sudden nickname.

“I didn't come to fight, I came to apologize.”

She nodded, I turned around to walk over to my car. I saw Jonathan drive by, I smiled while he drove away. When I turned around Nancy was right there looking at me.

“So nancy i know you heard what happened but that wasn't what happened-.”

I felt myself getting irritated already but I had to remind myself that she had every right to be upset, if I was in her position I'd be pissed too.

“Nancy when we were at the party I went to use the bathroom so steve showed me where it was then he started to talk to me then boom he kissed me, I pushed him off me but I guess carol saw it and she twisted it to make me look bad nancy you have to believe me i wouldn't do that to you.”

She looked at me. I knew her mind was going a mile a minute but soon her relaxed face turned stiff, her eyes narrowed lips going into a thin line.

“He wouldn't do that to me sara im sorry but I don't believe you.”

I scoffed putting my arms at my side, frustration quickly growing inside me at her basically calling me a liar.

“Nancy I wouldn’t make that up, he's literally done that to dozens of girls.”

She shook her head at me.

“Sara that's where you’re wrong he's changed so like I said he wouldn’t do that to me I thought i had a good friend but obviously i was wrong.”

I looked at her just flabbergasted; it was obvious no one was going to vouch for me.

“Nancy, are you kidding me? What happened to Laurie? Amy? Or Becky? What happened to all the other girls he's been with huh? Nancy you're going to end up just like them.”

She looked at me then the next thing I knew I felt my cheek burn, I looked at her holding my cheek.

“Nancy what the fuck!”

She looked at me.

“The difference between you and I sara is I don’t have to throw myself at guys to get them, if you were dating someone and I knew it I wouldn’t have ever kissed them or even thought of them in that way.”

“Nancy you know what I’m sorry okay forgive me or don’t I don’t care but let me tell you something. You ever and I mean ever hit me again I’ll give you what I gave Carol.”

She looked at me then walked away. I got in my car, drove off not looking back. When I got home I walked inside seeing Jonathan sitting there watching tv.

“I don’t want you to go anywhere near her or her flock of idiots”

Jonathan looked at me, cocking a brow, turning off the tv.

“Hang out with who?”

I took a deep breath before I snapped on him. He didn't deserve the anger they caused.

“Nancy fucking wheeler and her crew of dipshits.”

He looked at me like he didn’t comprehend what I was saying.

“Okay sara first of all you can’t tell me who to hang out with especially since you hang out with Steve, Nancy is a way better human being than Steve.”

I looked at him, letting out an exhausted laugh.

“Are you kidding me Jonathan Steve and I are only friends, I see the way you look at wheeler, you’re asking for trouble.”

He stood up, with the look on his face I knew I hit a nerve.

“You don’t know shit sara you’re just mad because maybe there’s a chance she might like me back, Steve doesn’t even consider you one of his friends.”

I’m not going to lie, his comment hurt, I knew it was true I wasn’t one of Steve's casual friends, but that doesn’t mean Jonathan could rub it in.

“I’m not mad at all Johnathan but If you’re going to hang out with her then don’t bring her around me.”

He looked at me, his face reddening the more I spoke.

“Okay that’s fine Sara just know you made this decision not me.”

I looked at him as he walked down the hallway to his room.

“What do you mean I made this decision?”

He ignored me slamming the door right in my face.

I kicked his door then walked to my room slamming my door shut, I walked over to my record player turning on whatever record I had on. I turned it up, locked my door, and sat on my bed.

I put my knees together wrapping my arms around them, buried my face into them and just let the dam break. I wasn’t crying over nancy I wasn’t crying over Steve and I definitely wasn’t crying over Jonathan.

I was crying over everything, the few weeks of my life was garbage, I had no one to talk to now. With my mom always working I was completely and utterly alone.

I was hurt, I felt abandoned and I had no one to blame but myself. I caused all of this, I made all of them hurt, I drove my twin away, I knew I fucked up, but I was too hurt to care.

The walls I broke down were coming back up, I knew what the Inedible was. I was going back to the cold Sara, I couldn’t care any less.

Everyone thought I was cold before, but they have no clue. I tried to be nice and a lady like my mother taught me but it was time to show them the real Sara Byers
