I love the design of the Gerudo weapons. Scimitars, bows, pole arms and shields heavy with gold and ruby. They've got a real Arabian knights feel going on.... Which makes it all the funnier that their King, massive weeb Ganondorf had to have himself a Katana and a Yumi straight out of Sengoku Japan.

What Happened With Kiriko?

The new Overwatch character's personality is literally just "Japan". Like they say her thing is “a little bit of the old, a little bit of the new”, but for some reason that’s a choice between “shrine maiden” and “ninja”. Not only are both of those definitely “old” but they’re also just Japan as a personality yet again. In case you’re wondering how to actually execute on that theme check out Black Fox which isn’t a perfect movie, but stars a character who is literally what Kiriko says she is, mixing ninja techniques with modern tech to basically become ninja batman! Kiriko is an absolute L in terms of character design from a game that has a great track record of cool designs that are obviously meant to evoke a certain country but also have their own personalities outside of that. Is this design legitimately racist and we’re all just ignoring it because we’re fucking weebs? As a white guy I definitely can’t answer that but I’d love to here people’s thoughts.
