but then one of binghe's sly wives—a scammer who airplane contradictorily describes as pure-hearted at her core—comes up to him one day and tells him, "I have your baby."

PGR has the perfect trap to get me invested in the story. Because I get very invested in characters that I like and play as. And I like the Commandant because I think they are written exceptionally well. But the Commandant is also a self-insert character. And I also really like the Gray Raven squad and their relatives.

And in more and more chapters the Commandant just has a bigger and bigger gameplay role. Not just a bigger role in the story, but there is more scenes from their perspective, and lately I even got to fight alongside my Constructs as their Commandant.

Its just a growing positive feedback loop for me.

Zestial & Husk

So, I found some fics were Zestial is a father figure for Husk and that had me hook really fast!

It has potential, just imagine, Husk would have somebody who he can vent and that he can be vulnerable since I don't think that even as an overlord Husk had people close to him. Even if Husk is grown-ass man and an overlord, Zestial sometimes behave like an overprotective dad since he didn't wanted that his son hurt of the few peole that Zestial doesn't want to hear scream.

How they meet? Before Husk was an overlord but was making his way to one, Zestial is curious about the new rising overlord so he goes to the casino and they quickly make a friendship since they both are cultured and like to learn. It was a friendship at first but quickly evolved to a father/son dyanamic.

One would ask, what about Alastor he was hunting overlords why he would let him get so close to Husk? Well the answer is that Alastor knew when to "behave" in front of Zestial for two reasons:

Zestial is one of the oldest sinners and the oldest overlord, so he has powers that even Alastor can't beat.

Alastor knows how protective Zestial is of Husk so it would be foolish in being in his wrong side, maybe other of the few factors in not hunting Husk.

What about the deal? Simple. Alastor make Husk unable to tell Zestial about their deal and the irony isn't lost in Alastor when he is in the same situation years later.

Zestial goes for years or even decades without knowing about the deal until Alastor started to get more agressive with his treatment of Husk in front of people because Lilith came back so the only form of control he has was Husk, while Zestial connect the dots and Husk not telling him just confirm his suspicion.

We could make Sqq a transformer in his past life. Like optimus prime sorta transformer. Cybertronian.

He'd be the only surviving seeker (winged guy) on the autobots side (I don't know all the canons but I don't think they have, like, any). Pretty young when the war started - unfathomably ancient for humans, the kiddie of the group to them.

And he arrives on earth. Discovers the Internet. Immediately gets hooked on critiquing stupid Web novels in every language, which being a sentient machine he can do at great speed without forgetting anything. Decides to read the final chapter during a battle because he's so close to the end and airplane had better pull SOMETHING good. Is so infuriated (distracted) by the ending he messes up and immediately gets killed by some low level decepticon. After FIVE MILLION years of war he gets offed by some loser over a stupid human story that wasn't even very good. He dies SO furious.

And then he gets reborn a human.

He is, as the kids say, big mad.
