You were laying on Matt's bed as he excitedly sorted his Pokémon cards. The sun was setting, and it was what many call "golden hour." He was like a little kid, sorting out his new ones and looking at his old ones. Surprisingly, many people didn't know that—among many other things—Pokémon was one of Matt's hyperfixations. You found it kind of adorable, really—the way his eyes would light up every time he opened a new pack or found one of his best cards. It was precious.

Earlier, he had bought a few packs while you guys were out shopping, and you couldn’t say no to helping him sort them. So here you were, looking at the cards one by one while hearing him rant about how each one was valuable. Then you spotted a card. It stood out in the midst of all the bright colors. It was a white card with different graphics than the others. It read "Tandemaus" at the top. It had to be one of the cutest things you'd seen all day. All you could think of was how good that would look in your phone case.

You glanced at Matt, who was too concentrated on the background show you two had picked to even notice what you were doing. You slowly grabbed the card and slid it to rest next to your phone, away from Matt. And then you continued—until you found another cute card, and another, and another! They just kept appearing.

As the episode ended, Matt got more and more into sorting his cards. He finally decided to open one of the packs he had bought earlier. He was looking through them, and then you saw one. You didn’t know what it was or who it was. All you knew was that it was adorable and that you had to have it.

And so, you tapped on his shoulder, and Matt turned to look at you, a soft stare and his crooked smile plastered on his face.

"Matt, can I have that one?" you asked as you reached out and pointed at it.

He seemed confused—you had never shown any interest in Pokémon, so why now?

"Yeah, sure. Why do you want it?" he asked as he was already handing it to you.

You were too busy admiring the glossy card to notice the words that slipped out of your mouth.

"I need to add it to my collection," you said as you placed it next to the others.

His eyebrow raised, and a smirk spread across his face as he looked over at you and saw a small stack of his cards sitting there.

"So when you agreed to help me sort these, you were planning to take all the cute ones, huh?" he said teasingly.

A small grin fell on your face as you put your head on his shoulder.

"And also because I love my geek boyfriend!"

He let out a chuckle and grabbed the cards from next to you, placing them on the dresser along with the binder he had. You were confused, but then he came back toward you and put his head on your chest, looking up at you.

"I love you," he spoke gently.

"I love you too, baby"

one time andrew is having some problem with his car and mentions it to neil in front of matt and matt knows literally anything and everything to do with cars so he offers to take a look. he ends up knowing exactly what the problem is and how to fix it, so him and andrew spend a couple days over the course of a week doing different things for the car; going to a mechanic to order in parts, matt checks the whole thing over in case anything else needs a service, and then matt talks andrew through what exactly he’s doing to fix the problem. andrew’s loves cars but is less knowledgeable about the mechanics side of things, but he hangs on to every word that leaves matt’s mouth, in case it’s information he’ll need to use again. matt shows him how to do something and then gets him to try it. they fix it pretty quickly, and andrew thanks him by throwing him the keys for a couple hours afterwards and tells him it’ll never happen again. (he’s not entirely serious, but he does spend those few hours anxiously waiting for matt to come back)
