Just making a general post real quick in response to an ask.
When I say I'm anti-ai I mean I'm against any sort of AI that steals from others or would otherwise be used to put people out of a job. I don't feel like having an elaborate conversation about the positives and negatives of AI and all that, so I'll state this as plainly as possible.
I don't like AI art. I don't like AI voice impersonations. I don't like any sort of AI that has to steal stuff from people without their consent in order to function. That is literally it.
I'm not against ALL AI. I don't think people that are okay with AI in general should be burned at the stake or something. I'm just an artist and writer that doesn't like AI being used in CREATIVE SPACES. That's it.
I didn't think I would have to clarify this but, here you go, for anyone that was bothered.
My mom keeps going on about fucking AI, how you can write an entire story in seconds and make an entire website using AI, or even using Midjourney to create anything
Meanwhile I'm just sitting here, dying inside as she's stabbing my creative heart to pieces because she wants me to HELP her use the stupid AI because she thinks it will make us a lot of money (it wont she really needs to get off of facebook and stop being so gullible)
Hey guys I don't want to sound mean and I know everyone likes generic anime twinks (especially if they're free!!) but there are ways you can get access to that other than using software that steals from actual artists without consent. Commissions are so cool.
Just as a heads up, I’m locking all my fics on AO3 to registered users only due to the Elongated Moosk incident and his scummy fanfic thieving bot. I know some people read fics without an account there and I’m sorry to anyone who doesn’t have an account. If you want to get one, it’s super simple but there’s a queue you have to wait in so you’ll have to wait a couple/few days or so to get your invite emailed to you by their staff.
I’d like to take them off private at some point since I really do not prefer having them locked to registered users, and hopefully the AO3 staff can do something about this (they’ve been informed about it), but I don’t feel like having my hobby’s work stolen by stupid, shameless straight rich white men’s AI bots.
Also, they’re planning to profit off their fic theft, so... yeah.

Im so glad i didn't end up being an art teacher. Could you imagine students showing up with AI generated art being like "yes i made this" with the paper still warm from the printer in the library and the URL printed in the bottom corner. I'd have to walk out.

Hello! I come with some good news! In the EU, a law has been passed restricting generative AIs (particularly ones that pose a high risk). I hope other areas in the world follow suit, but this is huge! It'll take a while to be applied as well, though this is still a major win for everyone.
Is AI Regulation Keeping Up? The Urgent Need Explained!
AI regulation is evolving rapidly, with governments and regulatory bodies imposing stricter controls on AI development and deployment. The EU's AI Act aims to ban certain uses of AI, impose obligations on developers of high-risk AI systems, and require transparency from companies using generative AI. This trend reflects mounting concerns over ethics, safety, and the societal impact of artificial intelligence. As we delve into these critical issues, we'll explore the urgent need for robust frameworks to manage this technology's rapid advancement effectively. Stay tuned for an in-depth analysis!
like the thing is i can understand and support the "ai art is bad because it takes away jobs" if it wasnt that they JUST cared about ai art. like i wouldnt even mind if they didnt care UNTIL it threatened artists but they dont care about any other jobs being taken away by ai NOW. like say that magically tomorrow all ai art generation blows up and gets wiped out completely and we cant recreate it ever. will you celebrate and then completely forget about ai? or will you care about the taxi drivers and bus drivers and truckers and mail workers and delivery drivers who lose their jobs to self-driving cars?
