Wanted to make a list of some of my favorite Witcher fics! Most of these are not Jaskier/Geralt, but I did add some, and they are just as good! A lot are also Explicit, and some need an AO3 account to access. Feel free to message me if you want your work taken off this list.

Geraskier fans and writers! I need your help!

So I read this awesome fic where Jaskier and Geralt had been casually fucking for a while and Jaskier suffers a lot, specially when he finds Geralt fucking Yennefer.

And now I need more of that! Like, really need it, that delicious hurt in my chest that makes me feel something.

Particularly the part where Jaskier suffers for Geralt and Yen's relationship. Maybe Geralt using him as a substitute for Yen or just fucking both without care of Jaskier feelings.

There's no need for it to be explicit, I just want the hurt part (but sex is okay too). Doesn't even need a happy ending. Any length.

Anyone knows any fic like this? I've been looking for them but only found one.

Summary :

Jaskier is still grieving the loss of the exceptional lover who recently tipped his world upside down when new developments change everything he ever knew...

or

Jaskier (unknowingly) slept with a god and got D&D-style bard magic out of it. Geralt does not trust his new abilities and the pair set out to find the reason for the chaos newly interwoven in Jaskier's words and music. Along the way, they find more than they bargained for and make some discoveries.

Notes :

This is just as amazing as the summary makes it sound. Jaskier the bard becomes A Bard because of some very divine intervention. Geralt is shooketh and it's pretty funny. There is more angst in here than what you would think but not enough so that this isn't clearly a comedy. Jaskier is very intrigued about his new found otherness and it does actually delve in pretty deep about the the Bard class and some things that often go over looked. Can't really get into it further without spoilers but I greatly encourage you to read it.

Geralt’s head throbs. He’s too drunk to be having this conversation.

“I’d say you were full of shit.” Geralt says. “And drunk off your ass.”

“I’m not drunk, Geralt.” Jaskier says. “You are.”

The stars swim behind Jaskier, and if Geralt tilts his head to the side, it looks like the bard is swimming among them. Geralt would laugh, but Jaskier’s face is so strange, so serious, he cannot laugh.

“Why was I born, Jaskier?” he asks, and in that question rings out every agonizing question of his life. Why was I given up, why did I survive, why did I do that, why am I here?

Why, Jaskier, tell me why.

Jaskier looks into the fire. “I don’t know about the big things. The huge important reasons that warrant names like Fate and Destiny. I couldn’t tell you about the purple eyed bitch, or the child surprise, or Blaviken. And that’s all you want to know about , isn’t it? But I know why you were born.”

Jaskier looks him in the eyes, voice low and almost grieved.

"You were born to love horses, Geralt. You were born to avoid conversations, because you’re a socially awkward bastard under it all. You were born to get involved in problems that aren’t yours, because you can’t help yourself. You were born to hate portals and adore long hot baths.”

Jaskier took a deep breath and said. “You were born to walk down a dirt road on a sunny morning and without even noticing it, crush a dandelion under your heel.”

“And it’s such a small thing, a nothing, a non-issue to you. But Geralt- that flower blooms and grows and blossoms to be crushed by you. That was its destiny. You were its destiny.”

Hello lovely people! I've decided to start my fic rec lists with some Witcher fic focusing on Geralt/Jaskier (Geraskier). I started reading Geraskier fic about three years ago and I'll probably never get tired of this pairing. The below list are some of my favorite fics I've stumbled upon throughout my time in the fandom - I hope you enjoy them! If there are any you think should be added (or you just have good recs) please feel free to send them my way, I'm always looking for new fic! And if you decide to read any of these, please heed the tags on ao3; some deal with topics not everyone wants to read about.

Jaskier had never expected it would be Geralt trying to kill him. Sure, the witcher liked to threaten as much, but they both knew he'd never make good on it. They were friends, whatever Geralt said.

But friends didn't try to rip each other's throats out with their teeth.

Chaotic Fanfic Recommendation <3

Do you wanna read about a bard with no self preservation skills with a band of emotionally constipated wolf guys? What about platonic relationships that melt you to your absolute core? Screaming at your phone cause God will you please kiss and tell each other your big emotions?

Then I have an amazing fanfic for you, my guy. This "the way in which you talk to me (have me wishing I were gone)" by Livesinbooks. This a story of non-human Jaskier making up with Geralt after you know that and taking him to Kaer Morhen and meeting all the witchers. Then, it builds apon these relationships in stuff a fun way for the characters and the dynamics, my god the dynamics. This is such a fun story that grows and keeps you wanting more. This is about finding love in all its different forms and how to communicate in these relationships. If you have a general understand of The Witcher then you will love this canon divergence. The Geraskier is so yummy, finger licking good yummy. Jaskier is especially is most chaotic and brings everyone down with him and they find out they love his company and want geralt to lock this shit down cause Jaskier is so fluffy and good. With Ciri in this, Jaskier is already making himself #1 dad and Ciri loves it. Then, Yennefer is her badass self. The plot was not put to the side, and it entwines nicely with the characters and helps with the growth of their relationships. It feels like the author loves these characters and wants the best for them, so you. Should. Read. This. Please

Date Night (T) by @himbo-half-orc - Aiden and Lambert meet again after a few weeks separation. Lambert has made some special preparations, but it takes Aiden a long time to realise that this might in fact be a date.

Knocking on the Wrong Door (M) by tinymacaroni - Geralt finally brings Jaskier to Kaer Morhen, and Jaskier finds some solace as he works on getting over a crush he knows is going nowhere. Mixed canon, primarily books and Netflix sorta mashed together lol. This is Jaskier/Eskel with Aro!Geralt

Did it Work? (G) by I_bite_my_thumb_at_thee - Aro!Jaskier tries taking a love potion to see what it is like to fall in love. This is hilarious and a great take

Aperture (E) by grassylampshade - Gloryhole fic with Aro!Jaskier and various witchers.

Arrangements (G) by @himbo-half-orc - Jaskier is told by his parents he must find someone to marry - tonight, or they will choose for him. They have organised a ball for all of the eligible singletons in the area. The problem is, Jaskier is aromantic. Will he find his match?

The thing is, Witchers aren’t supposed to be affectionate. Geralt, in his own particular way, undoubtedly is however. Unfortunately, the Witcher is truly inept when it comes to handling affection and processing emotion. All of this is to say that Jaskier could have predicted this. “This” being Geralt standing helplessly as he holds a cat currently purring in his arms.

Jaskier is so silly, and in this piece of clouds on earth, he will be silly forever. That's right, immortal AU jaskier decided that sad man Geralt needs a hug...and a bath...and - you know what he decides that Geralt needs all the nice soft things that sad little boy Geralt never got. Ig this happens to bleed into the other withers in the process than :-p. Anyway, this fic is softer than a kittens fur and sweeter than the awful yet addictive sugar cookies from Walmart. Do you want to smile and feel nice? Well, then this work is just right for you.

"Do you think we’re born for a reason?”

Geralt looks up from where he’s been swearing at the fire not wanting to start.

Jaskier doesn’t even look at him. He’s looking at the stars, lute cradled in his arms.

“I don’t believe in destiny.” Geralt says. It might be the ale kicking in, but the stars seem to swirl around Jaskier. Silhouetted against the sky, he seems so small. It looks as if the stars are about to swallow him up.

Jaskier laughs sharply. He still doesn’t look at him. “Yes I know, Geralt. Fuck destiny, and fuck everyone else too.”

He strums his lute idly. “I didn’t used to believe in destiny,” he said. “I was young then. Ha. Then.”

“You’re still young.” Geralt grunts. And he is. The bard hasn’t lived that long. The idea of Jaskier being old strikes him as wrong. The ale swirls in his gut.

Jaskier looks at him sharply. “You really don’t realize, do you? How much of my life has gone past already. How much of it I’ve spent by your side.”

Jaskier turns away from him, looking back up at the stars. His eyes glitter.

“I believe in destiny. I believe in it now. I believe in you.”

Her eyes are still closed, the touch is barely nothing and yet her stomach swoops, she doesn’t want to push him away, it’s easy to touch him, Jaskier. He’s one of the only people she’s touched that doesn’t expect anything else from her. He just wants to be near her, and hold her.
